further willie "remembers" the % you are to max thrust with alt, even when you let go. This means you can "load" thrusts by max extending first and then aim with lmb normally with a following alt tap to launch it forward. really good with spears, pitchforks, stuff like that

If you're doing double click thrusts, pay attention to the stance or starting position you're holding your weapon in to see which ones have the fastest and cleanest motions into thrust.

There's always room for improvement on the weapons themselves, but if you can't get power out of your polearm, you aren't using your body right.

Just like real life, your body is a lever, and the heavier and longer the weapon, the more bodywork you have to put into operating it

Even with the flamingo leg glitch (fucks with your legs and balance) I can still get power out of my polearm, voulge is easier since its weight I can kind of manipulate to cover for my lack of regular balance

Definitely just try practicing at making finer movements. I did not start using a sword well overnight.

Lots goes into making those dismembering strikes you want.

Practice finding ideal trajectories and the peak of your swing.

Practice Aiming

And practice forcing yourself to swing slowly and deliberately instead of flicking. It's okay if you die in the process, you don't lose anything but simply clicking until you have a weapon you want haha

I've been playing with different lock strengths. Default or a little higher than default strength feels decent for a lot of weapons

yeah me too. I've tried low lock on to get more of a side view when circling. Willie doesn't get in the way as much

but for a play style with a lot of thrusts it's hard because camera isn't over shoulder

Maces feel a bit underpowered unless you really wind them up, and having max lock strength doesn't give you enough movement when holding the mouse to get good wind up and follow through on blunt hits

I often two hand it against shield and spear to bash over top

the main issue with sidestepping and swinging is that enemies wont exactly want to get in your range if you have a heavy mace swinging all around
