I only ever notice unwarranted falling if I get the flamingo leg bug.

I get it pretty often and have to restart my game, I've not found any other solution.
It makes Willie unable to get stable footing and the leg will randomly spaz and topple you over.

Otherwise it is very easy to stay upright in this game.

look where is your leg that is in the back, (to make it easier use arrow time) then if you have max sensitivity you press space and spin towards the direction of your back leg (so if you have your right leg on the back you spin clockwise)

Talking bout the bucklers with the hand maces? I dont have quite as much experience with those. That hammer doesn't cave people in quite like the two handed hammers do, but they're good if you go for stinger sttacks
