Not sure what you mean precisely. If you mean momentum mechanics, it's something that gets discussed to death in Mordhau forums.

Momentum mechanics in a competitive pvp/arcade setting would be awful to play with in general.

Just having swords doing reduced damage to armor is probably reasonable enough given that.

I had the idea of having all bladed weapons do no damage but that would count axes and poleaxes too

My headcanon was making it so short swords and daggers did no or very little damage unless you hit gaps

Yeah, basically Mordhau is already criticized because of veterans having a vast understanding of drags/accells and whatnot, which new players clearly do not have.
If you add momentum to the mix, the result is veteran players will always maximize their damage output and minimize incoming damage and new players will struggle to understand why or how just like they do with drags/accells.

Mordhau is also not that hard to learn btw if you hop into a duel server and find someone to teach you, there's a lot of people happy to. But momentum would add a whole new element to an otherwise "simple" combat system for arcade play

As long as you're not actively being assaulted, Willie can get up quickly if you make him sit up or roll over on all fours.

Once you are up, use camera angle (lean) and your weapon positioning (counterbalance) to continue to stay upright, in addition to your regular WASD inputs. These tricks will also help you stay upright in general

One of things that sucks about the low damage slider is that it makes you blind to how damaging blunt force might be.

Actually no, becuase you'd be on their left side, and the AI has trouble tracking you as easily with the stab on that side

definitely possible but easiest counter to spear as a sword is to just find an opportunity to sidestep after baiting them to swing then closing the distance. if you're past the spearhead then they cant really do anything besides back up

FYI, I mostly use this for voulges (the weapon you see here)

For slashing, I basically just half sword (hold down right click), move it to the left, and then release the half sword right before swinging.
I don't know why but it seems work reliably enough at the mid tiers.

For the quick thrusts, I half sword, and move the weapon to the right to try to get the pointy vaguely pointed at them.
Then, I will press alt, release the half sword and move my mouse up quickly ALL AT THE SAME TIME, usually before half swording again to return to the previous stance.

I can kinda combo the two but things feel a bit slower in the demo

I personally think it works best for Vougles but any polearm that can slash and thrust would work too. I don't think it would help at higher tiers though....

the itch.io version just feels a little better, I feel like everything is getting too heavy. I understand being weak in like the first 2 or 3 tiers, but once i become militia why am I swinging weapons like I'm weak and losing all my stamina after 2 swings? am I not trained at that point?
