Navigate to and delete the Half Sword Playtest folder located in the following directory.

C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\HalfSwordUE5
Navigate to and delete the folder VersionTest54 located in the following directory.

Finally, reinstall Half Sword Playtest.

Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.

Sometimes the alt stabbing is fun with daggers when grabbing onto someone. I've noticed it's best to press F and disable lock-on if you want to stab up towards the upper chest and neck, though

The damage system mostly seems to be a more arcade attempt to simulate what would stop a fight.

Even though you could realistically survive a lot longer from stabs to anywhere but the brain and heart, it would disable you either physically or mentally from pain, to the point of not being able to fight regardless, most of the time anyway.

Valid, my apologies- i didn't notice it did not say. I can probably get someone to update that.

The playtest is the most up to date version. It's set in the Enclosed Arena, there are a few game modes in it, but there's no other maps for it.
It's physics have been improved tenfold from the Demo, and it has a revamped combat system, with improved stabbing and physics damage against the enemies. A good example— you can grab and slam enemies into the fence to knock them out.

The demo is about a year older and has a more roguelike experience, with 6 bosses. You start naked with no weapons or armour, and have to scavenge for everything, and work your way up.

Parrying is apparently too hard for me. Either my sens is low enough to parry but I cant swing, or too twitchy to parry

So any fight with anything one handed or swords, feels random on if I win

Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.
