well theres a few things I can recommend off the top of my head—
Holding shift will make your movements more precise and jerky, and will put you down into a fencing/fighting stance.

X swaps your hands, and with two handed weapons, it changes which side you're holding the weapon on. This is particularly helpful for getting around shields, but it really shines with transferring force. The axes will swing more fluently on one side than the other if you tap x.
With polearms, if you press X mid horizontal-swing, you can transfer the force sideways as you bring the weapon over.

Here's the killer with polearms and X, swing em over your shoulder and press X as you do— the force will transfer down into a powerful overhead that you can chain into a combo.

For stabbing, I have a whole copypasta on that, lol.

Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.
