When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.

with a medium sized shield, a vertical or horizontal cut would still shop through my neck or shoulder, while they still rush me while halfsword and sometimes just cut my head clean off. if were in a clench position, and the aiswitches to half sword, magically the sword jumps through my body / shoulder/ neck to end up in teh correct position, cutting me in the process

so i cant block a hit then close the distance safely, if i close distances im not safe either, and i just have a much worse weapon than them

i have to land 3-4 clean hits to the head for them to go down, while 1 good hit is enough for a sword or axe to end the fight

holding shield up means its not possible to swing the weapon effectively

willie holds th shield half way up while m1 i engaged. dynamically blocking and switching mouse buttons to block then swing doesnt work well either because you have to do a lot of very precise movements in quick succession, to first raise the shield to the correct position, dfelct the blow, change mouse button, wind up a swing with right hand, and land a clean hit

and ocne again, a mace requires 3-4 good hits to teh head to down an enemy

in a helmet. im fighitng at armor level 6

I just started using a technique where you, in full platemail, let the enemy come to you, and then raise your sword in a sort of half-sword position but up, and bring your arms and sword down behind their head. Then you just sawblade the shit out of them until their back or neck is cut.
