If you punch with gauntlets it can cause a pretty common crash. There is no fix for it and we don’t know the exact issue that causes it other than something about null reference

well...there are limits to height, right? for example willies could range from 170 cm to 200 cm, also body build also has an important role, skinnier willies can move faster and generally would be faster, fat willies would be slower but have more HP, strong willies would be something in between but also would be deadly in hand to hand combat

Yeah they’re adding Loadout customization in the future along with weapon customization. Currently you can just use the Loadout selector and trainer mods together to spawn in gear and save the Loadout

sometimes its starting up and sometimes its entering a game, but I've never had this before when I played the game in the past. Just today

And you’re positive you’re on dx11? Most crashes on startup are because of dx12.
Your options are, verify files, do a completely clean reinstall which I will link the instructions to in a second, turn down your graphics and gore level, make sure you’re playing on dx11.
Beyond that, it might just be an issue on your end with your pc specs

Solution: Clean reinstall

Delete all files relating to the half sword playtest existing in your local files. Be sure to back up your screenshots folder if you took any!
Navigate to and delete the Half Sword Playtest folder located in the following directory.
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common
Navigate to and delete the Saved folder located in the following directory.
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\HalfSwordUE5
Navigate to and delete the folder VersionTest54 located in the following directory.
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\VersionTest54

Finally, reinstall Half Sword Playtest.

Might be the issue of you are hitting people with the handle more then the head of it?

Make sure to watch your distance to the enemy while using blunt weapons since they usually have areas where you'll have less of a impact if you hit them with it, like the handle although you can still break limbs if you get a good windup at the right time.

Pretty much everything is a breeze with the billhook, the only thing I look out for is either goedendags or other bills

Even spears are pretty weak, too short to pose a threat once you master distance management
