I think that the only thing needed to have better grappling is a key to "traction" the arms

like, pulling the hands closer to the chest when grabbing something

so you can "attach" people to your body and turn them with you

This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.
