Whenever I kill a dude and the blood flies, the game drops like 20 fps, even worse if there's more people I'm fighting against

Parrying is all footwork, blade position, and sometimes hand position. Treat your controls as your HAND controls. Not blade controls

shields are very timing and reading based, an opening is there but you must be laser focused

For shields i'd suggest using halfsword in a high stance and swinging over their shield

Even if you don't cut the blunt damage is actually pretty huge

Switching to left side is definitely good if you're fast enough and have the range to hit them when their guard is down
