you don't have to be from cali for cai to implement a new age feature, they implement it worldwide by region. also, you NEED your ID in order to chat but this is only if a time limit was put on your account (that just means you were flagged as a minor). if you DID end up getting flagged, you have to use ID or don't use their services at all

1. Toss a chicken bone to decide if the user might be a minor
2. Ask the user to give a video selfie to Persona Identities, Inc.

If our age assurance tech indicates you’re 18+, you won’t need to do any age verification at all. Only as a final step – and only if you take a selfie and Persona isn’t sure you’re 18+ – would they ask you to upload an ID.

I would like that response, and when I would click the arrow to move along the scene, it would give me another message like the one above where it would talk about the same thing. I would try to swipe, but it would just do the same thing.

Say you had something like this that I would send: “Hi! I liked the design of the watch you sent!”

Then it would send a response: “Thanks! I am so glad you like it.”

Then I would click the button to get another response without me having to type and it would do this: “Cool, thanks! I’m glad you liked it.”

If your character isn't going through when you try to save a bot, it's usually the name, greeting, tagline, or description that has a word or phrase in it that's blocked by c.ai

If you already checked the pfp then it's not the pfp

It's... kinda difficult to control it. If it's happening for the first time in your current conversation, just swipe it.
It tends to happen when you force the AI to generate a second response instead of you normally replying to its message.

If you let the AI reply for your character even once, it'll start a snowball of roleplaying for you that is nearly impossible to stop, so rewind to when it first happened and swipe as soon as possible

Like for example someone made a bot of a "maine coon" cat, but since the second word is actually a slur out of context, the bot couldn't be made no matter what they did, so they had to do a different cat breed.

A great example is Roblox, a lot of their decisions have been met with a massive amount of backlash, but there still exist a passive side of their community that supports them regardless due to the way they paint their actions publicly.

This goes for the U.S Goverment (and other governments) too, a lot of the censorship policies and age verification policies are being rolled out as an existent feature in many well-known apps due to the laws they're passing.

I understand the sentiment to protect children, but there's still a major flaw in this thinking. While it does protect the mental health or and physical safety of children in some cases, it still negatively affects a large portion of the older audiences.

It's a win-lose situation basically. Character.AI is pretty big and is privy to lawsuits and government investigation, and that's why they roll out the stupidest features; obligation. And I'm not saying I support these decisions, but I'm just pointing out a key factor in the reasons behind a lot of C.AI's app implementations.
