Quick question for you all about verification.

I’m currently above the age of 18. I tried to use a live video to verify my identity but it couldn’t verify even from that. Of course, now it’s prompting me for a Government ID to confirm (which I’m not comfortable sharing).

I’m aware that both videos and Gov. IDs are no longer held on to after a week. Does this mean that I can potentially retry a video in 7 days or am I permanently out of luck with that option now? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Our third-party provider, Persona, can do verification using selfie. It only takes seconds and doesn’t involve giving anyone your ID.

Only as a final step – and only if you take a selfie and Persona isn’t sure you’re 18+ – would they ask you to upload an ID. Persona is a reputable provider with strong safety and security controls. C.AI wouldn’t collect or have access to that ID.

if you're going to be 18 soon just wait til you turn 18. and that wouldn't fix anything, the current version already has filters and tons of restrictions but minors are still managing to use it in dangerous and unhealthy ways. they are dealing with a bunch of lawsuits because of it. so moving minors to another app for kids wouldn't actually solve anything, they would still get addicted and use it inappropriately just like they are doing now.
