Hi, i just joined to hopefully get some help for an issue since support has been ignoring me.
The email address tied to my account was deleted. It was a friend's address and an old one at that, and she deleted it without sparing it much mind. Problem is, now I can't log in because of the stupid email verification when logging in. I was signed in before, but was kicked out of the app for reasons unknown. I'm angry because I've messaged support about it a couple separate times and all tickets have been ignored. I don't know what to do. What's worse is that I'm subscriped to c.ai+ which is making me waste my money by not being able to use the app at this time. Sigh

You could even just take 1 sec more for EVERYONE and itd still have a similar if not better effect.

The slowmode isn't just about fairness. it's about managing peak pressure. Taking 1 extra second from everyone sounds small, but across 28 million users, it could still overload specific nodes at peak times.

Shaving time off everyone might actually introduce lag for users who currently have smooth experiences. Also, not all prompts are equal. Some are long or more complex, so a flat “one second for all” could still result in traffic jam.

Hmm, one issue is that I am NOT experienced with computers and am now realizing how difficult coding this could be, but what about a small shave off from everyone, 0.3, 0.4, something small that could be changed if its really needed. Then more tame slow modes. Less extreme, but have more people actually have the slow mode. You coul also have it affect people who are using it more, maybe the more active, the more it affects them, nothing extreme but enough with like 700k people that itd make a good difference. Also id recommend more transparency about the load. Just give a counter or something. I think a big frustration is having slow mode but then not being able to see anything inherently wrong because you cant see the strain on the servers. Could also have the bigger the prompt/more tokens it uses, the larger the slight delay is.

The main issues i think is... well, coding and how this would interact. Because in logic I think itd work but I have zero clue about how strapping it all together would work.

It has nothing to do with coding. Response generation can take so much on a GPU > meaning, the more ppl are generating response at the same time, the more taxing it'll be on the GPU/ servers and when it's overloaded, eventually it'll crash.
The Slow Mode is there to prevent this from happening, by limiting the numbers of ppl generating a response at a time.

Not sure how they applied the Slow Mode tbh.
My guess is that they apply it based on the server group that ppl are in. So for example, if a lot of ppl in Server A are accessing it & Server B isn't that active, it could only be Server A that's experiencing the Slow Mode.
Bcs if it's regional based, doesn't explain much as to why the Slow Mode is still there even at really late hours like 3-4 am in the morning.
But then again, it's just my guess.
