c.ai has its moments where it glitches out and gives irrelevant or out of character replies, but it's not most of the time

I’m late-ish to this discussion but I think i usually expect my bots to respond with TOO much logic. Like overly literal, little room for nuance, which leads to inaccuracies of different kinds.

The bots can insert improvised elements into the story, but aside from that, they aren't sentient, they only do what they're programmed to do. That's part of why I like c.ai so much though, I like how some of the replies feel like I'm RPing with a person.

It fills that void that I missed from RP without all of the drama of an actual person for an RP partner

Some are removed, especially if they're characters from Harry Potter/ WB/ DC franchise related characters.
If it's not from those franchise, try searching with a different account to see if it's there. If it's not, then there's a high chance the character was either deleted or set to private by the creator.

I bought a C.AI+ subscription around March 30th, 2025. It was originally supposed to end on 4/30, but it didn't work. They extended it to 05/01, but it still wasn't working. This extension was made on 04/01.

My membership is long gone, and I basically got "robbed" out of my 10 dollars. I don't mind getting a refund to actually buy a working membership again. That was the entire point. I've tried nearly every suggestion, and I've already sent in a ticket which DID get a response, but the membership still isn't working. (The ticket in question was sent on: March 30th, 2025)

Today is 5/25/25. Once again, I don't mind using the refunded money to buy a new subscription.

i mean, if you want them to remember info about you, put that info on your Persona.
If you want them to remember better lore about themselves, you can try making the bot yourself.

Otherwise, just pin the necessary and really important info and keep it as concise as possible.
What I do with my heavy RP is, I sometimes unpin pinned messages that's not relevant to the current plot, copy/pasting them onto a google doc or smth first before I unpin them. That way, if I want them to remember that again, I can always just put that message back and pin it.
So I unpin/pin messages depending on whether they're important/ relevant to the current plot or not.

It's actually pretty easy to recreate this bug, it's just a matter of overloading a character. There are a lot of variations of that repetitive behavior, so it's not really an exclusive case.

• One version suddenly switches to a different language
• Another keeps repeating the same context or response from above
• Some just repeat words or sentences that don't even make sense
• And it goes on from there.

■ Switch to mobile data (don't use wifi) on your phone and see if it fixes it
■ Reinstall your app/ clear your browser's cache/cookies
■ If you:

• Have VPN/adblocker/adguard and they're ON, turn them off
• Don't have VPN, try using one. Someone recommended ProtonVPN before, or you can use other free VPN if you want
  ■ If you can, try googling how to change your DNS. Changing it might help.
