In my case, I do it with the QnA format.
So the Question ({{user}}) will be asking the question like what their backstory is, what their past relationship is, etc,
and the bot answer in the speech style that they'd do canonically.

There's no right or wrong in writing the definition, but it's true that the AI can understand plain text just fine, so I personally think the old w++ format (the one with all the symbols) aren't necessary and will only take up too much space.
My bot can remember just fine with the format that I use.

But there are other sort of formats out there, so just stick with what works best for you

But I do find that format a little flawed, since it doesn’t really point directly to the character themselves. Unlike using variables, it can technically confuse the character by mixing up the user’s information with their own. (Orion W++)

I’ve tested this a couple of times, if you define it like this:

Example: Age = 21
It will interpret that both the user and the character are 21.

So Jill’s method using dialogue examples is definitely more preferable. But like I mentioned above, everything works, so you should definitely stick with the style you like

No, I tested it out before by writing an info after the 3200 and ask the bot related to it, but they can't answer it correctly at all, so it's not a myth.
You can use chatGPT to summarize your definition and make it within 3200 characters. I managed to summarize a 31k characters definition into 3200, you can do it.

I've basically had to summarise the entire movie the character is from because the bot barely knew anything about it. I've already resummarised what I had into a smaller format with chatgpt. I honestly don't think it could get any shorter than it is now.

have you tried splitting the info in definition to description? If it's just the character's appearance and stuff, maybe put it in the description instead, and the definition is only for the lore. Also, try avoiding the use of prose or simplify the explanation in their definition. You can also try utilizing the new Memory Box feature that has just gotten released recently (if you already have it rolled out to you).

If you're in a school, your network admin prolly blocked it.

If you're at the house, use mobile data and see if you would be able to access. If you do, then someone in your household blocked the website.
