Also the article just proves my point that I made earlier about children’s brains not being developed enough for this sort of tech. I TOLD y’all that was the case. The amygdala is the part of the brain responsible for emotions, the fear response, etc., and that’s overactive in teenagers, while the prefrontal cortex, the brain’s logic and reasoning center, is underactive. As unfortunate as the incident was, as someone who understands how children’s brains work neurologically and how they differ from the minds of adults, it isn’t really surprising to me.

See, I don’t think heavy handed is the way to go either. As long as the tech is developed enough to be safe, if the kid wants to go on social media as a teenager that’s on them. But I would want them to trust me enough that they would talk to me if something is wrong so I can handle it as their parent, rather than hiding things from me.

It’s just with C.AI the tech is so new and we haven’t studied it enough. And the concept of talking to your favorite fictional character was unheard of even three years ago, and now it’s pretty common.

That's what is twisting my mind, what are they gaining from this? Kids don't have a credit card to buy premium, parents are probably not aware of c.ai, there's privacy issues and laws for minors, all the mess of the f-1lt3er for creating a safe place.
