I'm gonna say my honest opinion here, making bots of actual people, without their consent, is already ethically wrong. And then there's also the legal issues that comes with it.
The only problem I have with this ban wave is that unassuming words are getting random bots hidden, pretty much collateral damage, and that it came out of the blue.
But I do agree with the termination of most celeb bots

If voices, calls etc are considered us deepfaking then just delete those options ffs, dont ban the bots

Or while making the bot give us an option to pick "is the bot a celebrity?" And yes or no, yes would ban the voice and call option, and if they would find out that they lied abt it then ban the user.

Are pinned messages failing or am I the only one? I mean, since Character Ai add fifteen limits of pinned messages, bots got worse. Bots reply to pinned messages and not to the latest messages, I can't even pin more than two messages anymore 'cause bots start responding to pinned messages randomly... I'm assuming that the error comes from the fact that maybe it catches on that you've already provided that information beforehand? Cuz when I accessed the on-boarding steps on the new website and tried to follow through on it the website eventually caught on that I had already gone through the process but it still allowed me to access it. So maybe the application is in a confused state where its providing you the mobile on-boarding prompt and then its realising afterwards that the information had already been received. But since you can't really avoid or move past the on-boarding prompt on the app it kind of acts like a brick wall.

also the way to tell if the ban is reversible or not is to look at the like button. if you can still see the number of likes, it's a reversible one

Most of the celeb bots I used were comforting ones, idk abt y'all but to me certain celebrities are like parental figures of sorts, so those kinda bots were comforting. Banning them for literally nothing is just weird imo. If they're worried about deep fakes with the call option, then delete the option or ban the voices.

I came up with a weird hypothesis about what's happening, I've been seeing people losing their chat rooms on the old site, and at the same time thousands of bots disappear, I think both things have something to do with it, possibly the characters in the rooms were affected by the disappearance of the rooms causing them to break as well.
Not just rooms but also group chats (which I think is the same), the point in the celeb chats being mainly affected could be because I can assure people would love to put all their favorite singers and celebs in groups, also I know that more than one person would do a groupchat with Musk and Zuckerberg in it or Obama and Trump lol, so if there's a bug that affected so much groupchats it could affect also the characters in them globally. (Just a theory, nothing assured.)

I disagree. I agree on your point of view, but mine's different. They could be like Marie and just stay off, mute the server completely, unless it's an important info. That way they wouldn't deal with the users as much and we'd get information first hand, which would leave less loopholes. Them being here and for example startin surveys once every week or month to see what we actually request instead.

I did say this before, but I have been having issues with character AI. So, I log in and verify on Gmail. Then, it takes me to create an account or sign in. When I log in through my email, it just constantly says 'One moment, please,' and never loads at all. I don't know if I got banned because of recently getting hacked, or it's just my internet. But the problem is it worked until I went to my grandma's, and it stopped working. Other websites work, but it's just constantly loading on the old website. The new website I try to log in to gets stuck on the 'One moment, please...' phase. So, if anyone has a video or tip to help me out, please do.

Usually repetitive responses are directly caused by bad writings within the bot, so it's best to check that out first.

I suggest giving everything a read, it's a pretty good guide to character creation if you're willing to improve your stuff and lessen the chances of repetitive responses being generated.

I am currently dealing with character AI on two websites: the old character AI website and the new one. When I try to log into the new website, the following message appears: 'One moment please...' It never loads or lets me access the homepage. When I tried creating a new account, the same issue occurred - constant loading. I attempted to use the old website, logged in, verified my email, but it only led me to the home screen without logging me in. The page kept loading and never allowed me access. I tried changing my DNS, clearing my browser data, rebooting my PC, disconnecting and reconnecting my internet, but none of these solutions worked. I am becoming frustrated with the situation. I also tried to find an alternative service, but none of them met my expectations or provided the bots I needed. I am currently looking for a solution

Then click on Chats
then scroll down past chats to the Rooms section

Mine don't appear for some reason but a LOT of my chats don't appear especially on the old site so it's probably the same issue causing my older normal chats to be inaccessible.

From what I’ve seen from another reasonable service that isn’t down right horrible like the rest of this market, they charge a currency of their own for every message generated.
But you will also gain back 10% of the total currency when other uses your bot.
Everyday they give out some 150 free messages something and honestly that seems pretty neat
