plus character crafting was better with example chats you could start up and save to build up the character's "definition"

I believe a little notification box appears inside the app suggesting you to use the character calling feature on one of your previously interacted with characters. Also whilst in chat you'll see a phone icon where the send button usually is (that is replaced with said send button once you start typing.) From what we can tell its only available for c.ai+ users (rolling out for them to be more specific) and only available on mobile (I haven't seen any screenshots that show the feature on web.)

I'm not really able to provide you much on the details on how it works, as I haven't seen anything beyond screenshots myself. Though I can say that it's apparently rolling out for both c.ai+ and free users and its only available on mobile.

And the chats done with the old model don't transfer to the new website (and I'm unsure if they transfer onto mobile or not.)

Some bots have user defined as a girl in the definition, not much you can do to break out of it if that's the case.

I personally try to avoid that with my bots, equal opportunity.

One thing that might work, is listing gender in your persona, and your relationship to the bot. Like you are their brother or best guy friend. But if the user is already defined as a girl in the bot, that tends to override your best efforts.

Some romance bots are written with only one gendered end user in mind, and the dialogue is tailored to that. The creator isn't being malicious, just ignorant of the greater effects of doing so.

If the definitions on the bot are open, you could easily remix to your own private bot and make the necessary changes.

new website has faulty search, it updates with new bots every now and then, but so far we don't know how often. so for the first several days your bots won't even be there

second, search ban is a thing. if you can't find your bot via old site, then you're search banned for something in your tagline, greeting or long description (the 500 symbols one)

when checking the old site search, if it's a popular character that has tons of bots already, search for name+a word from tagline. because newer characters won't show straight away if the name is very common

Yep, tis just a thing that happens sometimes. But if you press enter without typing anything to generate an additional reply, the AI can actually continue where the last message cut off. Might take a swipe or two to get the message it should continue off the last message, but it's worked pretty well for me so far

The character calling feature is just character voice but wearing a different disguise and allowing you to input responses via voice.

Even then I doubt that the model is actually doing any of the work of interpreting the message, its likely just using some basic voice to text tool between the whole thing to understand what you're saying.

Personally, I agree with you as someone who has been around C.AI since 2022 when it first came out. It's almost 2 years since the app released and I only watched it go downhill in terms of memory and response quality.

I will say that the Discord verification is a start somewhere but it is a small step forward. I hope I don't see more steps backwards after that. Being optimistic here.
