The app is really getting on my last nerves at this point. If anyone from Character.AI is actually reading this feedback channel, y’all seriously need to do something about the ads. They’re taking over the whole app. And the charm system needs to be fixed — either add more ways to earn charms or rethink the paywalls entirely.

What worries me is that this whole setup feels legally questionable. A huge amount of the content on this platform is based on copyrighted characters created by the community, not the company. That’s fine under fair use when everything is free or ad‑supported, but once you start putting major features behind paywalls, it starts to feel like you’re monetizing content you don’t own. I’m not a lawyer, but that doesn’t seem right.

If the goal is to support the app, that’s what ads and optional fan funding are for. Ads are normal — every free app has them. But when ads take over the experience and features that used to be free suddenly cost charms that we can’t even earn anymore, it becomes frustrating and honestly discouraging.

A lot of us use this app for comfort, fun, or just to escape real life for a bit. Watching it get buried under currencies, paywalls, and ads is upsetting. I’m not trying to attack anyone — I’m just trying to give honest feedback before the app goes too far in a direction that pushes people away.

I think that after someone deletes an account, it's gone. But if it happened recently, you could try sending a ticket directly to support and asking them if they can do something about it. Some apps keep your data for a few days in case you change your mind and want to restore your account. I don’t know if c.ai does that, but it’s worth giving it a try.

C.ai uses the same face identification thing as Roblox, which everyone already doesn't trust. In the very least, Roblox atleast only REQUIRES a face identification verification to open up chat. You only need to submit a viable ID to fix your age group. But this requires both a face verification and ID if it flags you as under the age limit.

I always get medium-long responses with Roar, if the greeting is long and you start responding with long messages, the bot should follow the lead and will start responding with long responses (at least for me it works).

Long story short: Multiple lawsuits and a new law in California. They can’t remove it, or they would be breaking the law.

Persona is the company that handles age verification, not c.ai itself. Persona is a trustworthy company with a history of never having a user data leak, and all data (selfie + ID) is deleted after a week, so your data are safe if you decide to verify.
