There are two different ways to fix it

1. Change the Chat style to a different Chat style like if you're using Roar change it to Soft Launch then change it back to Roar
2. Select a message you want to start a new chat from and hold down the message in the chat and select start a new chat (this method worked for me)

But the chat list is bugged right now. You can only get new chats from "for you" page or even search it. Alot seems to be having this bug. So the best is to send ticket about it and let the team know!

It's seems to be a new bug in chat list. Since it is only giving "chat errors" with your chat list not in "for you" page or when searching. So try reopening the app it might work as for some it did work for them and send ticket about it here so the devs know about this new issue.

Ive reopened the app 14 times (yes i counted u listen and dont judge) i even deleted and re-installed it again and i was able to talk to 1 character only and when i switched to a different character it said chat error and when i tried to go back to the other chat it also became chat error (and dw i tried the for you thing)
