The difference from a fanfic and a chat bot it's does to the fact that's easier to attach towards something that's infinitely more interactive than a fan history.

There's also that ai companions is a morally new thing, and a lot of people really disagree with it. Plus sometimes it's even real people, with make it's feel like is more of a simulation than a fiction, with isn't looking with good eyes.

Minors interact with adult characters with can also ruin the image of the actor and in a mainstream scenario that's marvel and dc are in this is very important.

Also the backlash from AI pshycohis case and such that's also a reason.

And since cai is the bigger ai platform obviously they would target them first, since they have bigger investors (like google) so they can get more money by legal actions.
