The stricter checks are there to follow new laws and avoid llawsuits and it helps the company stay in business instead of getting fined or shut down. Even if some younger users leave, they were only a small part of the overall audience, and the platform still has plenty of adult users plus ways to make money like subscriptions. A lot of tech companies are being pushed in this same direction, so Character.AI isn’t alone or at a disadvantage. In the long run following the laws is actually better. Plus they've added adds so they aarent going bankrupt any time soon.
