When I launch from terminal, I get this message, and have gotten this same message when launching with the flatpak, appimage, and aur package. Hi, I'm having issues with Vesktop automatically lowering my microphone volume.

I've checked #1257025907625951423 , and also browsed through the GitHub Issues page of Vesktop. Every issue that talks about this problem seems to have been marked as "duplicate", but I haven't been able to find the original.

There is a workaround posted by someone in issue #1087, but ideally that shouldn't be necessary, as it requires me to run an additional script on boot just for Vesktop that constantly sets my microphone volume to max. Kind of jank.

I'm running Vesktop on Nobara Linux 40 GNOME, the Flatpak version specifically. I've also turned off Automatic Gain Control, and restarted both my system and Vesktop.

I had similar issues but I fixed em with a custom Discord app that grabs my Steam status.

The issue you're facing is probably caused by something else, as my activity issues were caused by the games being run under Proton.

Hello guys, I need some help. My plugins are not loading at all, I think it's because my install is old. However, I don't know how to uninstall vesktop.
OS: Ubuntu noble 24.04 x86_64
Install mode: I have no idea. I have a .deb, an .appimage and a .flatpak on my app list. Right-clicking Vesktop opens the Ubuntu Store for the Flatpak but I have no Vesktop on flatpak list I think it's .deb.

Hey! I once again experience an issue I only managed to fix by completely re-installing Vesktop last time I had it:
Randomy, when starting Vesktop, the start animation shows, but no main window opens after that. The Icon shows up in my Panel, but shows no preview on hovering. clicking on it does nothing - not even select the "phantom"(?) window.

OS: Fedora Workstation 41 (GNOME 47)
Vesktop installed as flatpak

right-clicking the status icon and selecting "repair Vencord" does nothing. If I remember correctly, last time I had this, reset didn't help either, only re-installing the flatpak and wiping all app data.

looking into $HOME/.var/app/dev.vencord.Vesktop/config/vesktop/state.json I get the following values, which seem relevant:

I'm on NixOS with Vesktop installed from nixpkgs/nixos-unstable using Home Manager.
When I try to play an attached video, it freezes on the first frame, but the audio still plays.
Embedded videos (from links) still work perfectly.
This issue has persisted across multiple updates and restarts, so at this point, I'd bet money that it's not a fluke. HALP

No. These packages are maintained by people (usually) unrelated to Vencord. We can't provide support for unofficial repackages of Vencord unless it's an actual bug in the mod itself (except when such bugs occur due to the repackage).

Apparently the vencord flatpak can not access the XDG_RUNTIME_DIR to make use of existing audio sources. If I manually override the flatpak to set the --env=XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR and --filesystem=$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR manually it is able to detect audio sources, doesn't this sound like an interface not being exposed for the flatpak?

flatpak cannot access /proc. if you want process scanning you need to use arrpc out of the sandbox by disabling built-in arrpc and using the plugin. This then also removes websocket RPC (discord in your browser communicating with vesktop) so theres a trade off.

I have the Vesktop/Vencord Flatpak (I don't know which it is, but it's called Vesktop) and I can't drag and drop files into the program even when I enable access to all system files. The interface shows that it knows I'm trying to drag and drop, but the cursor shows 🚫 and it fails to even attempt to upload. The system OS is KDE Neon. This also happened on my Arch system, but the Vencord Installer off the AUR fixed these things.

If you are guys having crashes every restart but it recovers it and you can normally use Vencord, disable @silk current's plugin called "NewPluginsManager" and crashes will be gone. This was driving me crazy for at least 1-2 months every time i restarted discord

this most often happens with dms.
its been going on for a while and I really just can't work with it anymore.
oddly, in this state I can still type and interact via the keyboard, but any buttons/links will not respond.

Discord Desktop app: should generally work. if it doesn't, it means you either disabled hardware acceleration (don't) or your gpu doesn't support hevc, in which case you should make sure you have gpu drivers up to date

Web: Switch to a different browser, all big brand browsers should work fine

Vesktop: On Linux you need to pass a bunch of flags, on windows idk. If Linux, just link them these

There really needs to be a better way of handling the case of notifications not working on Linux, I have to perpetually be on do not disturb otherwise any notification freezes discord and I have to restart it.

I've run into the same problem today - same error message - seems to hang in or near libnotify. Figured out this was because I wasn't running a notification daemon. I don't tend to run one because I don't use a "desktop environment", just a window manager. I agree with @rahra that the software should fail more gracefully, either bundling its own fallback notification system (like Firefox?) or (preferably) reporting an error via the UI that a notification daemon should be installed and running in order to get notifications.

Sorry, I am on Fedora Linux using the Vesktop Flatpak. I tried to do /vencord-debug and it does nothing. The issue happens when I try to screenshare or turn on video. It shows me that I am screen/video sharing, but the others in the call cannot see it. I has happened with multiple people and not with Desktop Discord (w/ or w/o Vencord installed).

Is it a common issue for the colors on Vesktop to be a little bit wrong on Arch, like a reddish pink icon looks like an overexposed bluish pink and if I screenshot it and paste said screenshot into discord I still see it as the wrong color but on another device the screenshot is the right color, and outside of discord the screenshot is the right color

I’m just wondering if it’s happened to other people, if not it’s probably something wrong with my configuration
