The command to install Vencord for Linux provided here downloads the installer, tries elevating but gives me this FATAL ^D error. There's also a shebang at the beginning of the script that it curls, which sh doesn't understand and errors (had to add tail -n +2 for it to even run).

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

As of discord 0.0.130 (linux), h264 video wont play at all and shows this (attached image) on the console. This also affects tenor gifs cuz they use h264 video. Other codecs are working like normal (av1/vp9 is fine, and h265 would just freeze while the audio is playing)

I tried vanilla discord 0.0.130 and it works just fine, and I also tried discord 0.0.129 with vencord and it's fine.

do you need the global keybinds and game detection of the regular discord package

if not you can build vesktop with whatever version of electron you're using to fix those issues

or you can try vesktop in the first place

got a question about the hidden channels plugin

say i have an emoji server of a niche theme for people to use the emojis outside of it, theres a few chat channels

then theres people i wouldnt like interacting with the people in there(problematic ppl, has done dramas or whatnot in said niche), i set the allowed people in the chats while the non-allowed have nothing acting as if the server has no chats in it but only to use emojis outside of it
is there any way of preventing them to see the hidden channels if they have vencord with the plugin enabled

Hi, 4h ago i tried to enter a voice chat with a bud, but noticed that apparently no audio is sent/received.

• i'm on fedora 43, discord installed via discover (.rpm)
• vencord installed with the install cli tool, plugins work
• i can hear discords system sounds (mute/unmute for example)
• discord does hear my mic, mic test in settings works as expected
• voice chat works normally without vencord installed

any tips on how to diagnose this? have i missed a known issue?
