This happens because these videos use the hevc encoding. The solution differs based on your platform.

A universal and easy solution is to simply install VLC media player or mpv and open broken videos with that.

Discord started blocking Linux VPN users, for whatever reason.

You have two options:

1. Disable your VPN
2. Spoof your user agent to a windows one. This may trigger more captchas. You can do this by launching Vesktop via vesktop --user-agent-os windows.

The most likely cause is that your install is outdated. Check if there's any updates. You can either do so using our inbuilt updater, or if you cannot get there due to crashes or similar, use the "Update Vencord" in the Installer.

If you're all up to date, try reinstalling with the installer anyway!

Kinda on the topic of the bypassing part.

So here in the UK (we already have the restriction), if 1 channel in the server is marked NSFW, the WHOLE server becomes set as nsfw, not just the channel, even tho our laws only cover the sections within the servers, not whole aaa servers (from what I've found in our legal proccesses).

If a bypass becomes a thing, how would you even detect the difference between an nsfw/restricted channel and a sfw/unrestricted channel/is this something vencord picks up already? and how would this bypass even be implemented? Just interested and totally cool if you can't answer that just yet

If you are trying to use cloud integrations in the browser (specifically Firefox), it won't work due to CSP issues as the Vencord extension cannot correctly allow access to the API. There's no fix besides using a different browser or using the desktop clients.

So, the plugin NoProfileThemes seems to remove the custom colors from user's profile cards, but not the animation. The plugin description kinda suggests that the animation should also be removed, as they are part of a "Nitro profile theme". Is there a way to not render the animations, or is this currently not supported by the plugin and I should open an issue on GitHub about it?

The most likely cause is that your install is outdated. Check if there's any updates. You can either do so using our inbuilt updater, or if you cannot get there due to crashes or similar, use the "Update Vencord" in the Installer.

If you're all up to date, try reinstalling with the installer anyway!

May have found a weird bug (potentially) for the Vencord client itself, but it's probably not worth worrying about.

I have a Windows laptop, and whenever the battery dies with Vencord installed and successfully running, the laptop obviously has an unplanned shutdown. Whenever this happens, my Vencord installation breaks and I have to reinstall it. This has worked successfully.

I did just reboot manually, and Vencord did persist just fine. The same thing has happened on my Windows desktop whenever it has had an unplanned shutdown during sleep (weird issue I'm still trying to fix). Version is f9c404c

Changing display brightness makes the UI colors over saturated.
Tested on Arch Linux, running KDE Plasma on Wayland. Vesktop is running under native Wayland. Laptop is a Lenovo Legion 7 Pro 8th gen with Nvidia + Intel graphics. The amount of change in brightness doesn't matter, even 1% triggers the bug.

What i saw on the discord folder is that i had two versions of discord (pic 2) and when i tried installing vencord it tried to rename that file on pic 1 but this is what is inside (pic 3) but in the older version it is right (pic 4) am i doing something wrong or not understanding something

I had the same issue with the userscript running in Tampermonkey on Vivaldi. Seems that you need to "always allow the domain" to request the remote data.min file from Vencord's repo for the import to work once Tampermonkey asks. In general, iirc, Chrome-based browsers treat importing local files the same way as fetching remote files and that tends to break some userscript functionalities, but I'm not a web developer so I can't speak on that. Might be somewhat of a security risk to allow the userscript for fetching remote files forever, but is what makes the import work again
