Doesn't help when the Updater option says I'm up to date, but oh well.

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

hey guys, my vesktop's integrated arRPC isn't working - i have the arRPC plugin enabled and the setting enabled in vesktop settings, yet it doesn't connect to the built-in implementation of the server. it only connects to the external implementation i have running via NPX, anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix it? The npx running version tells me "Port 6463 is busy, using 6464", yet the bridge on 1337 isn't busy. there's discord-ipc-0 (I believe this is Vesktop's implementation) and discord-ipc-1 (npx) in /run/user/1000 (my user)
arRPC complains with there being discord-ipc-0 created by vesktop, so decides to use discord-ipc-1
however, when i have the internal implementation disabled, it's oddly still complaining. is this a bug i uncovered?

open the dev tools with CTRL + Shift + i (Cmd + Option + i on MacOs) and click on the "console" tab at the top. Then paste and run (with enter) the following code.

It will

• disable custom css (you can turn it back on in Vencord Settings)
• copy your current theme links to your clipboard as a backup
• remove all themes

okay, the NSFWGate plugin is meant to bypass the age verification screen for restricted channels, but this screen is still displaying. I've had this on windows and linux OS installs (discord desktop on windows, discord canary on linux).

it might be an idea to just remove everything you're not relying on just in case. or if you're that worried about the resource hogging, i would suggest uninstalling discord and just running vencord through ungoogled chromium as a userscript. that's what i did for my 15 year old laptop.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

hello fellow Vencord members! I've joined because I've been experiencing an issue which I'm not sure whether it's from Vesktop itself or Discord.

Ever since a couple of updates ago, I have been having constant issues with voice-chat losing connection. When I initially migrated into Linux, this issue was not happening, but now everytime I try to Stream, I get the issue, sometimes even when I'm not streaming and I'm on call playing games with friends, it still does it.

It is quite annoying to be honest and I was hoping to know if there was a solution for it?

1. Open your terminal app
2. Type sudo
3. Drag VencordInstaller.app into your terminal
4. Append /Contents/MacOS/VencordInstaller
5. The final input should now look something like this. Double check that you have everything correctly, especially the space.

sudo /Users/YourUsername/Downloads/VencordInstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/VencordInstaller

6. Run by hitting Enter and the installer should open. If it says file not found, you made a mistake
7. Installing should now work!
8. If you still get the same error, give your terminal app Full Disk Access and try again

The most likely cause is that your install is outdated. Check if there's any updates. You can either do so using our inbuilt updater, or if you cannot get there due to crashes or similar, use the "Update Vencord" in the Installer.

If you're all up to date, try reinstalling with the installer anyway!

And if it now still doesn't work, please let us know in our support server

i think theres something about vencord that doesnt support the pnpm. just reaching out. i spent like 3 hours fixing this pnpm installation that shows the same exact error no matter what. i just got to fix it when i deleted a string of code in the config folder. yknow.. just reaching out
