so for readers: just reinstalling everything is easy at the cost of losing settings

My themes broke and now I can't open settings or disable them

open the dev tools with CTRL + Shift + i and click on the "console" tab at the top. Then paste and run (with enter) the following code.

It will

• disable custom css (you can turn it back on in Vencord Settings)
• copy your current theme links to your clipboard as a backup
• remove all themes

Troubleshooting CustomRPC

• Every time you make a change make sure you reload (ctrl + r)
• Sometimes toggling it off and on again is necessary (and reloading)
• Make sure Settings > Activity Privacy > "Display current activity as a status message" is toggled on

Can you see it and no one else can?

• if you've set a big image and/or a small image you need to fill in their respective tooltip field
• don't add any values to the unix timestamps
• emojis work, some unicode don't. try with just alphanumerics (0-1, A-z) first

Do you not see a preview of your intended RPC in plugin settings?

• Change your image link, the plugin is likely not able to extract the image from it
• links starting with media.discordapp or cdn.discordapp won't work

Even though I grant vencord full disk access (mac user), it still says it doesn't have permission? Previously I was able to "install" it but nothing actually happened. I deleted my desktop instance of discord (which I had for some reason) and tried to install vencord to the instance that's in my applications folder, but now it's repeatedly saying it doesn't have disk access (when it actually does)
Are there any workarounds?

This message is misleading. Try running sudo chown -R "${USER}:wheel" /Applications/Discord.app and running the installer again afterwards

What exactly did you try to do?
What did you expect to happen?
What happened instead?
Does this issue always happen, or only sometimes?
If possible, provide steps how to reproduce the issue
If appropriate, provide screenshots or screen recordings

For Vencord issues:

• If you are able to, run the /vencord-debug slash command
• If not, provide the following info:
  • How are you using Vencord? (Discord Desktop, Browser (name your browser!!), Vencord Desktop, ArmCord, ...)
  • What OS are you using?
• Open the DevTools with Ctrl + Shift + i (Cmd + Option + i on MacOs) and check the console tab for red error messages

Unfortunately that didn't seem to do anything? Still getting the same error-- is {USER} supposed to be replaced with {whatever your username is}? I ran both versions just to make sure but nothing changed on either attempt.

Okay, no errors-- but still the same problem on vencord 🤷
Tried to install vencord months ago when I first migrated from windows to mac but eventually gave up and settled for better discord

AH. Figured it out

For some reason all my preset permissions were turned OFF. AGAIN. Which is weird and creepy and Probably Concerning considering I'm the only one that uses this computer, but it worked and that's all that matters

Never mind. Got rid of the 'no disk access' error but nothing is Actually Installed. The files are all where they're supposed to be according to the installer but nothing's actually changed on my client

(I did fully quit and reopen discord)

OK so I attempted a reinstall/repair and it's The Exact Same Error as Before I Tried All This (no disk access)
