Okay, @drifting carbon, here's how to configure Cloudflare's DNS over TLS (DoT) on Linux. This assumes you are using systemd-resolved.

1. Edit /etc/systemd/resolved.conf:

   sudo nano /etc/systemd/resolved.conf
   

2. Add/Modify these lines:

   DNS=1.1.1.1 1.0.0.1
   DNSStubListener=yes
   DNSOverTLS=yes
   Domains=~.
   

3. Restart systemd-resolved:

   sudo systemctl restart systemd-resolved
   

4. Verify (optional): Check connection with this command in the terminal. If it hangs, it may be having trouble resolving, remove "~." from /etc/systemd/resolved.conf and retry the systemctl command.

   resolvectl query one.one.one.one
   

   Look for DNSSEC: yes and Current DNS Server: 127.0.0.53

That's it! If you aren't using systemd-resolved, the process is different. Let me know if you need instructions for a different DNS client.
