Only thing wine does is emulate a window’s environment pretty much everything is ran natively. Gpu api calls aren’t an issue and usually it runs better on Linux due to DXVK however I can believe if for example AMDs (proprietary) OpenGL driver is worse on Linux for some god forsaken reason.
Games like overwatch and Elden ring run better over DXVK tho
