I just resolved an issue with my Verizon FiOS setup. Since I have TV with them, I need their router. But it doesn’t have to be my primary. I replaced it with an Asus router, set up the Verizon router as a standalone device on the network with a static ip and no WiFi, plugged the coax into it and connected a lan port on it to the Asus router switch. Now I don’t have their router throttling my connection and my TV doesn’t break because it can’t see the special config of the Verizon router.

Update about my old phone whos screen randomly went black: I plugged it in to see if it worked and it did. Then it turned orange and when I unplugged it the charging screen slowly disappeared like a slide show animation. When I put it on a wireless charger, the screen came back perfectly fine. I noticed the back is starting to come away from its shell (most likely from me dropping it and being rough with it) and I was able to peel off the back with ease
