The pike meta is becoming very boring, very quickly at the top of ranked.
Pike needs a damage min range of like 35m, and max range of 50m, dropping down to 50% damage at max range.
It also needs an rpm nerf to make it an actual long range weapon.
It's already a long range monster, better than the sniper in most cases. But it also being able to out brawl even a heavy or FCAR up close is ridiculous

V9s is still objectively better than xp54 in basically every aspect. Xp54 needs to at least get 17 damage instead of 16 bc it's just obectively worse than so many weapons in way to many aspects. The most consistant and fun weapon just feels so shit to use now.
You should also further reduce the mesh cooldown imo, makes glitch more useful.

The heavy charge m slam immediately does maximum damage even if heavy start right in front of and almost no visual warning out of nowhere,it’s completely unbalanced,add the grunt audio right before it activates not in the middle of charge n slam,it should half damage for charge and more knock back when it start and maximum damage at the slam.
We need a flare gun gadget(light) so bad that’s sticks to enemies or walls. It’s low damage but it long term so it help for enemy player to avoid pursuing and heal it’s also bright and colourful sparks to show enemy location when it stick and leaves a spark trail on the map

This patch contained basically every (popular) change I was wanting to see, thank you for listening to the community embark 
pike nerf doesn't make sense. it has the same kill time for every classes before. Why not just nerf its firerate + hip fire accuracy?
A few dozen people cannot balance accordingly to the desires of 16000-20000 without testing it in the community. Chances are, most of the dev team are more in-line with average, more casual players - thinking any Light buffs would make them OP, thinking Heavy's too underpowered now, etc.
The people here are the tippy-top, or at least pretend to be. There's only so much the devs can do without having the community test certain changes.
Put simply, I'm sure that the devs understand that, despite Lights' low win rate at ranked, they are the players driving new players away in casual modes. That's why they're careful when it comes to messing with Medium or Heavy, and careful with buffing Lights - the player count matters, and the majority of players are NOT ranked players.

All those feebacks on the CL-40 are true, I find myself forced to play CL-40 because nothing else can get me the win and I do not enjoy that, you just simply cant kill fast enough with any other medium weapon, the CL-40 is far too easy to use for the amount of dmgs it does, im surprised this was not nerfed in the days after the update, do you simply not do balance hotfix ?
What? the fire rate was slightly lowered, but the damage was slighlty increase. You can now shoot 6 times per second, instead of 7.16 times. And there is now way you can convince me you can even do 6 taps per second.
@proper barn model has the lowest fire rate in the game. That's why it has good damage, which is only effective at close range. It is viable for a medium because it can provide an effective secure play style, where they can shoot once and hide behind a corner quickly, or healing their teammates and letting go just to do one final shot. So really, the weapon is strong but balanced and the most adequate for a supporting class.
@winged estuary I cannot tell you how many tournaments I've lost due to a medium stacking with no skill at all. When I am able to single handedly remove two of them at a time, only for them to get revived in a glimpse and spam their CLs, this is a balancing issue. BUT I would never say the balancing team sucks. Things are now better than ever before (except for the CL), and it is hard to balance a game with such different archetypes without going into the trap of role queuing, destroying the creativity of the game effectively. So just play and have fun.

V9S just got nerfed and XP was nerfed the patch prior, but even as an L player you sort of have to throw your hands up and try to understand this balancing perspective. L players can still make it work though if they're nasty with it, which is probably ok!

Light Class in The Finals is currently in a rough spot, especially in ranked play. Its low health pool already makes it vulnerable, and when paired with the subpar weapon options—essentially "pea shooters". Light Class lacks the firepower to even compete with the other classes especially given how squishy it is. Either increase the health or increase the DPS but not doing any of that will leave the class feeling underpowered and not viable in competitive.
Embark, please, I love you guys, but you missed the mark on the Pike "nerf".
It needs to have it's range drop off effected more, and it needs to have it's RPM nerfed, so that it plays and feels more like a long range gun. Nerfing the damage very slightly, didn't effect it's ttk against Light or Medium.
The CL nerf doesn't really feel like a nerf either. The CL is oppressive, not only because it does a little too much damage, but because you can shoot all 4 shells, and then reload the first shell, shoot, reload the first shell, shoot. The time for reloading the first shell on an empty mag needed to be increased by 0.3-0.5 seconds. It already effectively had a 5-6-7 round magazine, because of how quickly the first shell goes back in on an empty reload.
Another week or so of pike/cl gaming is going to do a lot of damage to your game

So we still don't have 1/1/1 team-makeups and we're getting things nerfed again because people love to ruin the game. If you don't want to limit the classes then limit the weapons to 1 equipped per team? KS-23 accuracy. The damn thing is a rifle that requires pinpoint accuracy and yet we still can't ADS even though there are irons on the fucking weapon model.

Embark please add an option to have a wheel pop up for the data reshaper to give players the option to get their desired canister.
Similar to shulk in smash this would allow the data reshaper to be more versatile as a gadget and allowed to be used more strategically and offensively.
Of course tapping should be still be kept in for players that prefer to cycle or have already memorized
And as further compensation for light for medium gaining access to glitch canisters, glitch grenades in return should be buffed to explode on impact and it's duration should be increased to 8 seconds.
And maybe a shorter cooldown.

It shouldn't matter what you intend with regards to the mesh shield - this isn't overwatch and Reinhardt when the team all sits behind and shoots through the shield and it never will be.

A new skin for Dual blades is fine and dandy, but i'd rather have you at least try to do some balancing to them.
As i've said couple of times, and these two points other dual players have agreed to as viable options for buff/balancing change to them without making them op in any way.
- make the attack speed slightly faster
- make it possible to cancel attacks to block. Maybe not instantly, maybe just the last sequence of the combo.
Allmost 90% of the im going up against any class 1v1 and they are decent players with some movement skills i loose to a quick melee. If i had gone with a quick mele myself in some instances i would have won, but the fakt that im running melee weapon and have to resort to using my elbow to get a kill is just... if the animation for quick attack were something related to the blades i would have been fine whit it.
Change no 1. should not be a change that's hard to implement. Change no 2. i understand is not that easy.

The block dmg reduction is fine, in my controversial oppinion the deflection is fine to (just have to learn how to use it).
Its a fun weapon and the only weapon i play... but i would really like to feel like im being more consistant.

As always, thanks for making a great game in every other aspect. Its my favourite.
Playing as a Light, you have to move like a maniac across the map, knowing that any Medium with a Pike can kill you in 2-3 shots from over 50m away, with a weapon that has no recoil and probably has the best sight in the game. If you manage to get close, the M still has the advantage because that same weapon has hip-fire accuracy that feels like a shotgun. And if you manage to kill him, it doesn't matter, because he likely has a teammate with a CL40 that only needs to spit 2 grenades at the ground to kill you anyway. And now he has an extra bullet.
It doesn't matter if you dodge, if you stun them, any kid drooling over their controller can turn around, headbutt the buttons, and spam grenades at your feet before you can even react.
The way they balance the Mediums' weapons is a complete joke in this game.

I just got a ranked game where I was seed 1 but only had two players. Not having away to surrender but being forced to cough up 1000 ranked is crazy.
The battle pass is pretty boring compared to last season, it feels like a step backwards. Almost everything is plan looking. I think avoiding a theme hurt more than helped my interests in the cosmetics.

id think most of the console community will agree with a few things and maybe a few pc players.
console players have a major disadvantage in fights with PC players, pc players can flick, turn and aim easier and control recoil easier, not only that can beam from a far,
for the players from pc, i bet 99% of pc players dont want controller players on their team, but love to play against them cuz our movement is horrible, we cant shoot far range for anything, and aim assist barely works, im assuming because of the in game settings not being accurate or something.
So can we please have console only, just like season 1? cuz nobody on console turns it off so its even harder to find a ranked match.
Not forgetting that the fps for console players are capped at 60, pc have every advantage possible, therefor we struggle with the in game mechanics more and again very tough long distances, especially AKM, Fcar and other similar guns, maybe not pike but i dont use Medium so i wont know 🤷♂️

it doesn't really feel like you guys have created mini games / advantages per weapon like we'd expect. ie the double barrel should rule at close range but needs help anywhere beyond that.
this is especially bad on the model and pike. it just feels like you give out a damage number so x gun is always best, rather than x gun is best in x scenario. this kinda ruins the depth of the game and kills the perception or expectation you have when choosing a weapon.
you gotta be more aggressive on spread or distance fall off to introduce a counter pick minigame. pros and cons are not clearly defined as most weapons are mostly (or always) a pro or a con.
someone also mentioned percentage damage per class (good idea). if you just choose a set number lights will always get killed instantly and you won't have the resolution to affect the ttk by numbers alone. I'd like to see a loadout and know which weapon will be best against at vs always choosing the same class and loadout if I want to win. Gameplay > realism and accurate numbers, if you gotta cheat do it
on our end your methodogy for balancing (whether its a team or by committee) feels way to slow and often tone deaf. this is a step in the right direction but you're going way too slow

While agree with most of your message, medium is a lot stronger than heavy right now. The damage output of all classes is about the same, and medium has some of the strongest guns right now.
What I would like is for heavies to be frontliners, medium to be buffers, lights to be disablers. Heavy is crazy, but only if they have a buffing medium helping them, and lights can stop the medium, thus making the heavy less useful.
I guess glitch grenade kinda does that, but the glitch is honestly pretty meh.
I also think dagger is a perfect example of what a light weapon should be, a weapon that really shines when people are distracted, and can quickly cause a team to turn to chaos.
I would 100% want to play medium if I could buff my team more
Some of my most fun moments in this game was when I was playing with my 2 heavy buddies and trying to dodge enemy fire while giving them the crazy heals the beta had, or when we were bunkered up in barricades, the whole building was collapsing and I was trying so hard to keep them alive while trying to stay hidden behind the barricade.

First of all hackers/cheaters is a HUGE problem in all game modes. Not sure how but please up your anti-cheat game, it's a real problem. I encounter cheaters at least once per day, often a lot more.
But on the new season in general:

The waiting times for Ranked Tournament matches is insane, often 20 min or longer, sometimes I can't even get in at all before the game just randomly kicks me out of the queue. It's especially bad during night hours (00-09 am) but it's pretty bad during daytime too, mostly for Ranked but also for World Tour.

When a team mate disconnects from a Ranked or World Tour game (leaving my team severely outnumbered) I still get penalised for refusing to de-rank because someone disconnected, which is pretty wild tbh. This makes it really annoying to play Ranked, especially on top of the extreme wait times.

On a similar note: when playing Ranked with randoms I almost always get paired with people of much lower rank while facing teams of much higher ranking players. Often I get paired with unranked players while the other teams are all Silver or Gold (I'm currently Silver 4).

honestly , i dont see this at all , my queue times are fine, all sub 1m at gold 1, and i very rarely encounter cheaters at all. i do agree that losing points after your teammates leave in ranked is an issue , something has to be done about that
even when accidental , its so unfair, for example i was playing with 3 friends yesterday , and one crashed in the final round. he couldnt reconnect in time and got the maximum losing penalty (-1800 or something) , and we got +1200 for coming in second
if an enemy you're fighting eliminates themselves, you should get the kill

I was thinking about why the balancing in this game is so hard. And I have an idea. It's a slight change but can lead to a massive rework.
Basically weapons are tuned depending on how many taps or bullets should one need to eliminate each of the 3 classes. This is most evident for close range high damage weapons, whether firepower or melee.
It becomes hard to make it varied and fair when the standard dictates: X taps for L, +1 for M, +1 for H, which almost always makes X=1, because X=2 makes an H worth only 2 times an L... If you fumble with the values, it feels like it will always settle to same parameters.
So, I would suggest: DECREASE THE RANGES OF HEALTH POINTS.
One way is:
Keep M at 250 HP.
Bring down H a Y amount from 350 HP.
Bring up L a Y amount from 150 HP.
A good Y amount can be anything between 10 and 25. Take Y=15 for example, then:
L = 165 HP, M = 250 HP, H = 335 HP
H becomes almost 2 L with M a middle ground.
This will lead to a retuning of almost all weapons, but I truly believe believe it is necessary to pave way for a better balancing, because, as it is now, H = 2L+50 will keep on bottlenecking the balancing procedure.

New Specialization for Medium - Handheld Grenade Launcher
Holds 2 shots at a time, one in the chamber and one in reserve. The grenades function as breaching rounds, similar to the Light gadget, but instead of having a timer it detonates instantly. Rounds recharge over time similarly to the Light gadget, too. The grenade's explosion does 40 damage, so it could also function as a decent finisher as well, kinda like a weaker and more utility-focused RPG. Hitting a direct with it to an opponent will deal a meatier 70 damage, but will not cause an explosion. Weapon's model is based off the M320 GLM. ADSing will be similar to the KS-23 or CL-40.
The rational core complaint against the CL-40: It's sensorily overwhelming, literally gives people a headache under sustained spam.
The core function of the CL-40: Give mediums who lack pixel-perfect aim a reasonable counter to being harrassed at close range by evasive melee/M11/sawn-off lights.
The latest patch: Make the CL-40 useless at close range, and add another grenade so the sensory demolition of its sound-effects when used by a double or triple-wielding team is far worse and more sustained.

There a multiple melee weapons in this game that are harder to use than guns. The guns in this game are incredibly easy to use
melees on medium are so useless when it comes to fighting other melees, they really need a rework because they are some of the most garbo weapons but the most fun, i love all of the melee weapons so buffing them can make them way to strong but its just never gonna be able to compete with sword or sledge
You're crazy if you think melee weapons aren't hard to use. They require more positioning and skill than 90% of the guns in the game.

The dev notes of this patch are genuinely depressing. Please just revert mesh. A 7 damage nerf literally did nothing to the pike. The CL40 changes feel like they were done by a completely different balance team member who was not aware of what the original change was for: nerfing ttk against light and making heavy more fightable (except you failed the first bit by not implementing the fire rate nerf THAT WAS IN THE PATCH NOTES)

Decreased damage from 117 to 100 doesnt change the time to kill against any class, (NO CHANGE on direct hits*edited)
added 5 rounds instead of 4 (BUFF) can now deal damage past aps limit
changed self damage to 1.6 from .75 BUUUUT they added damage drop off to 90% near the edge of the area of effect and 0 on the edge which now means they can take almost no damage from 3 meters+ from you
At your 0 meters is 6 bars and 60% of the next bar
Self damage at 1 meters is 4 bar and 95% of the next bar
Self damage at 2 meters is 4 bars
Self damage at 3 meters is 1 bar and 60% of the next bar
Self damage at 3 1/2 'ish meters is 0 damage
-Wakes up
-Still no S3 rewards
-Goes back to bed

Compare it to the self damage multiplier and it's a very ugly change. It makes the real problems worse, and the real utility of the weapon weaker.
TTK will always be altered because it's chiefly an AoE weapon

@thorny lynx The new WT mode is a basic experiment to see whether the many suggestions about changing HP values here are worthwhile.
The three classes are supposed to be roughly balanced. As such, giving them all a blanket HP increase should benefit the Light the most. The Light gets a 1.66x HP multiplier, versus a Medium at 1.4x and Heavy at 1.28x. If this doesn't help Lights survive longer, then this proves that the HP count is not an issue and should never be touched, letting devs focus on rebalancing the weapons and specializations instead of listening to the numerous dumb suggestions of "give Light 200 hp lol".
@simple hull If you "mag-dumped" into a Heavy, he's dead twice over. You can destroy a Mesh Shield with one magazine worth of shots most times, let alone a regular Heavy.

Just got through hurricane Milton in Florida. Went right over me.
Now I want a hurricane game show event as commemoration. When active, all roofs on all buildings get ripped off. Strong vision obscuring rain starts pouring.
If players stand outside, they get pushed around by wind. The ground floor of the entire map gets flooded and the water acts the same as Kyoto and slows movement down.
I hope all The Finals player and their families made it through the hurricane safely. Hope this suggestion was not offensive, I just thought of the idea while watching the storm start blowing hard in my area.

They are adding new ideas too see how the community views it and plays around it. To make a better playing experience. What games do you know update the way they do? Listen to there community the way they do? Or sit there and take responsibility if they mess up? None but embark. They at least do something to the things we complain about and can’t please every single person. wt is a test for ranked if you think it’s going to always stay the same then you have the wrong idea of world tour. Also with the buff to health everyone use to always complain light needs more health that is there way of not being unfair to people but still allowing people to see if the light or other classes would need more buffed health so people would stop complaining of how low light class health is or others and see maybe it would be over powered or maybe it’s just right. I would be more excited for this "Primetime Buff" event if the game didn't already tilt things in favor of the team actively cashing out. Now it's going to be overkill, where they get that buff and ALSO respawn faster. Another reason why the Defender Bonus needs to go away. You can't even have crazy events like this because it's now tilting things in favor of the defending team TWICE.

This is easily the worst balance patch in a long time and it’s not even close.
Cl-40 nerf is whatever. It’s over nerfed and useless now but who really cares.
Mesh shield is still dogshit and always will be as long as it has a cooldown. This game is fast paced, having your primary defensive utility be incredibly slow isn’t going to do anything. Just let people juggle shields again.

Maybe for the top levels of gameplay, but not for the average player. There's no reason it should have a lower ttk than most of the medium and heavy weapons (on the same class) like please. Constant buffs to the handling isn't gonna help, it needs a fundamental rework.

Honestly, I can only feel so bad after my Heavy buddy's playstyle - Sledge, RPG, Mesh, Dome - all got nerfed multiple times over, with only the Motion sensor getting improved. I had to give up on Dual Swords ever being made useful and switch back to the AK, which then got nerfed alongside the multiple nerfs to the Heal Beam and Mines, with the only gadget in my arsenal that got buffed being the Goo Grenade (and a mini fix to Ziplines, thanks I guess).
I lost a buddy to the nerfs too. At this point, I think a lot people here have, but where Lights can complain about it, anyone else is spammed with cardboard cardboard git gud git gud. Which fair enough if you feel that way, but I doubt they'll be getting gud if they quit the fucking game, not when there's a new Steam Chart-topping game coming out nearly every month to distract away from this game.

However, the matchmaking has been broken since Season 2. In Season 3, I hardly played ranked because it was TA, which I detest. I thought you were improving matchmaking for Season 4, but the issue continues.
My matchups make no sense, neither in rank nor in dedication, which is clear when I compare my kills and revives with my teammates. Meanwhile, the other teams have players who should be matched with me, but I'm facing them instead.
I’m speaking as a solo player. When can we expect improvements in matchmaking for solo players? It's frustrating we've been stuck like this since Season 2.
Note 1: I've had teammates say in chat they were playing ranked for "fun," as if it’s quick play. This is a bad joke.
Note 2: I don’t mind waiting longer to find a game if it improves the experience. I’d prefer waiting more than 2 minutes than 10 seconds for a team with zero skill.
Note 3: Don’t use the excuse of not changing matchmaking mid-season when you make buffs and nerfs to weapons, gadgets, etc. These also affect gameplay during the season. You’ve had enough time to address it.
Use other game modes for testing.
After 4 seasons, it’s clear you don’t fully understand the impact of the changes you make regarding buffs, nerfs, or introducing new items.
Please, before changing anything and making us testers, use non-competitive modes for balancing tests.

this is honestly a good take. everyones response to people being frustrated is just YOUR BAD GET GUD STOP CRYING. this helps nothing and doesn't quiet people just makes them quit the game. this game doesnt have enough of a dedicated fan base yet to be able to do so and has be steadily shrinking for a while. I am one of those players who has had so many play styles nerfed and its annoying. I'm tired of the constant trend of nerfing one meta just to make a new one. if you say that then you get a decent amount of people that just get louder to silence you

Hi, I dont like the new dagger:
I cant really kill enemies with the backstab unless I have some movement ability equipped when they just walk forward so I can not be a sneaky asassin anymore playing mindgames with the invisibility & stuff unless there is a big fight going on where they are more focused on killing my team instead of me 😢 .
The charge up animation feels unintuitive & too long in my opinion. It is nice that I can move & keep it charged up but unless I start sliding I can't catch up to enemies during the charge. I frequently miss the window for the backstab in the heat of the moment & just let go. I always considered it an off meta weapon which you could just have fun for some rounds, making your enemies paranoid but as it is now it is just frustrating to use.
It feel like I can only have a chance at correctly using it when If I use the Dash & try to attack frontally but for that I already have the sword.
I believe that just by lowering the time required for the backstab would suffice. Furthermore I suggest a clear indicator in the aniation when I can release my backstab with something like some snappy arm movement to a different position.
And finally as an alternative to the current mecanic I could imagine it being changed to a similar one as currently with the bow, increasing its backstab dmg with the duration of the charge where the dmg increases the longer I press.

I’m also usually very positive about embark, so I don’t really understand why this is a reply to me.
Also, model IS op mostly in high elo. Comp players have been asking for model nerfs for nearly 4 months. It fundamentally breaks the game when played in a well coordinated team.

CL40 changes are alright but didn't need an extra bullet in the chamber
Pike nerf doesn't really solve anything, I think the damage is mostly fine, perhaps adding bullet travel or bullet drop to the gun would be enough to mellow it out while keeping it a good option at close and mid ranges
In addition the sniper bullet drop is a bit wonky, I feel it should be a bit more linear gradient rather than a switch toggling after a certain distance
Bow body shot could be increased to have a max damage of 125 instead of 120, this doesn't effect light and heavy TTK but makes it good to deal with defib chain mediums, and mediums in general honestly, it evens the playing field against a pike or ak laser
The V9S changes are nice, I personally like the lower RPM and feel it only really changes the close range mag dumping of the weapon while feeling relatively better in every other situation
Mesh shield changes are appreciated and are good where they are, it helps a lot for sitting on point and playing with your team over how it was before, but no longer as punishing if you accidentally fat finger your mesh shield button
Also please allow dagger backstab to be tapped and play the charge up on its own like it did before in addition to holding it, and add a better indicator for when it's actually charged
Also add smoke to every class 100%
Overall the update is a bit underwhelming for two weeks of wait but it's a step in the right direction, I look forward to next week
Dude, enough with the nerfs and buffs. The game was playing just fine. People were having fun playing with New weapons. If you constantly rebalance and change things with every other patch, it’s frustrating for those who have been having fun playing with the new weapons or finding ways of countering those new weapons with their old favorites.
I’ll admit the CL was overpowered but I would have dealt with it just to prevent the devs from rebalancing the weapons every other week.
cl40 feels pretty good rn, pike also feels better, definitely on par with lh1 now that it doesnt 3 tap mediums, lights probably feel that the change doesnt do much for them because their health pool is so low as usual, cant have a medium dmr 3 shot headshot a light

That new Primetime Buff may be alright for knockout rounds, but in the final round it completely tips the balance of the match and becomes an unfair advantage.

Personally I think this is a great patch! It fixes a lot of issues going on currently in the game, I just hope the primetime buff inst too strong with the defender bonus. Also, the v9s changes might make it more viable to people like me that can’t hit many headshots due to the spamming limiting my aim, so I especially like that one (hopefully the ttk stays around the same). Honestly, very few changes are still needed (mgl, slight model damage nerf that prevents 1v2 unfairness more than the ttk, spear swing buff, bow max charge time reduction to help it compete with other ranged weapons). Even then, the current state is still really good, and Im glad this game is doing well to reflect this!

Instead of "developing", you snap together a bunch of blueprints in Unreal Engine and have procedural toolsets like Houdini do your creative work so that you can bust out content as fast as possible(for cashflow) without properly debugging or going through the quality checks.
Sitting around in discord chats talking about "i like this change" instead of playing your game and seeing how those changes fit.
I see the way this studio is heading after less than a year.

I don’t give a s/&t about the meta. I want them to stop rebalancing every time they release an update. It seems it happens way too often. Balance weapons before you release them. Constantly buffing and nerfing things to interrupt meta trends is dumb and frustrating for players. This is not specific to this patch. It’s a comment on how often they rebalance weapons in this game.

The V9 change is too much. I think the RPM could be reduced to 400 instead of 360. It just feels too slow at 360. The damage increase doesn't do enough to compensate for a 70 RPM decrease. People using scroll to shoot are few and far between. But thank you very much for listening to the feedback and adjusting the Pike and CL-40. Much appreciated.
To decrease the RPM while maintaining a similar DPS, we can lower the RPM and increase the damage per shot proportionally.
For instance, let's consider a new configuration:
New V9S Configuration:
RPM: 400 (reduced by 30)
Damage per shot: 40 (increased by 3)
DPS: 400 * 40 / 60 = ≈ 266.67 (similar to the original DPS)
As you can see, reducing the RPM while slightly increasing the damage per shot results in a similar DPS to the original. You can adjust the numbers accordingly to find the desired balance between RPM and damage per shot to maintain or improve DPS, but remember that this should align with the game's overall balance and desired weapon characteristics.
I find that light CAN be incredibly helpful so long as the class is played correctly, which very few light players do (they’re usually too aggressive / just kill hunting).
I’ve had a few light teammates who were a massive help from a tactical standpoint in that they would deal some poke damage but otherwise play passive enough so as to almost never die (bc of movement skills), wait for opportunities to clean up weakened enemies, and overall function as our “lifeline” where due to good movement and patience would always end up last alive and be able to grab our totems and dash/grapple to safety. Basically playing “medic light” and preventing team wipes with good movement and decision making
why is glitch barrel reshape random? was guaranteed red barrels really that strong?
stun gun should set players aim speed to a low setting instead of just reducing it by a set amount. Players who play with higher sensitivity can just turn through it no problem, but for us casuals on lower speeds we are practically frozen in place. It can make it wildly uneffective when lower teams are paired against higher skilled teams.

As heavy that was already disappointed with the nerf to the RPG in patch 4.0.0 (reduced to 100 dmg), I strongly disagree with the state of the CL-40. In a sense, the MED class now has a 5x RPG (100 dmg each), without a cool down, just a reload. Granted I realize it doesn't do the environmental damage but the changes to these two weapons seems contradictory to the intent behind the nerfs/buffs. Give my HVY her RPG back to pre 4.0.0 state, reduce damage by CL-40 even further.

I’m glad the CL-40 was nerfed, and I like the extra round. But why did the self-damage multiplier have to go from 0.75x to 1.6x??? That means I can kill myself in with two rounds, which is ridiculous. That makes close range battles impossible, so the weapon is basically useless now
There is no " because they feel like it" involved. Critical thinking skills would be if they felt leaderboard scores were suspicious, they should've spent the last 2 weeks of season 3 checking the scores. They have several hundred employees, they could've spent time before s4 dropped, verifying top placements, rather than punish players who EARNED their rewards. Saying it's going to come in 4.2 and then still just adding more delays sounds more like mismanagement, and lack of critical thinking.

DPS isn't a very relevant stat imo. People are crying out for a Model 18 nerf, but it's DPS is lower than AKM, FCAR, Pike, Famas, even the revolver. DPS is not the most relevant stat when it comes to TTK.

Very happy with the pike nerf wasn't ran to the ground as it's still very much viable but it doesn't feel like the best gun in literally every scenario, would like to see some changes to either the fcar or AKM to differentiate them more, since the sight addition to the AK they play very similar and there is no clear use case for either over the other

Hear me out fellas, i've always thought that the healing beam is kinda boring and always a must pick with every team comp, without beam, you're pretty much fighting with less over all Potential HP than the enemy team. This means stacking mediums will always be a must pick because a medium will be able to absorb more long term damage than any other class.
So, I think a good rework for the medi gun would be to make it chargable through damage.
A good game to reference this off of would be Team Fortress 2, soldier has the buff banner which grants different types of buffs but you have to achieve a certain amount of overall damage to give use that buff.
Lets say the medium class has the medi gun empty on respawn, he would have to do maybe around 200 overall damage to fully charge the medi gun, which then he can use a burst healing move on someone close by, if that person gets damaged while the healing is in effect, the healing gets cancelled and the charge lost.
This would make fighting against 3 stack mediums a lot more bearable because now all 3 mediums are gonna have to do a constant amount of damage out put to achieve their healing charge. Also this gives support mediums more of an aggressive playstyle so they don't fall asleep at their PCs while holding down a healing beam for the entire match.

You’re not supposed to be using it dead-on. It’s a god damn grenade launcher. Similar to how you shouldn’t be using a shotgun to snipe across the map, they have specialized uses.
I’ve witnessed CL users shoot me from an inch away and I die but they don’t. But then when I try with the RPG, I DIE and they don’t.
They’re mid-long range tools, not close-long. Learn that there are both pros and cons to the tool you choose.

I would like to give my feedback on the 4.2 update. Giving an extra 100HP buff is completely unreasonable. We all know that at the start of the season, the pro players are there. Simply playing becomes absurdly impossible. Meanwhile, giving an extra 100HP buff to heavies, for example, who are equipped with RPGs and flamethrowers, becomes terribly unpleasant and practically gives the heavies a guaranteed victory.
On the same note, I'd like to make a suggestion;
Why not make a game mode where Light players fight only Light players, the same principle for mediums and so on.

Just finished watching a Balise stream with the Primetime Buff in a final round. This seems ridiculously overpowered. I understand you are trying to further incentivize making "the plug" but the it seems like a very difficult challenge to overcome for the offensive team. This is not too different from the Defender bonus respawn cool down you implemented before. Does it belong in the final round? It may even be too much HP in knockout rounds as well. Please watch the metrics closely on this.
I don't disagree with you. However the patch notes specifically say that the change to this pistol was not aimed at reducing its damage overall. It was mostly aimed at preventing a key bind exploit. The change reduced the damage of the weapon by too much that's why I'm recommending the RPMs to be changed to 400 instead of 360. My breakdown of DPS reflects their intended change.

They've quite literally stated prior they were checking and verifying the scores. literally two weeks ago. idk what kind of crack you're smoking or if you can read english, where they said they were verifying scores and such but it was delayed due to possible cheating, initially. And then we get told it's coming in 4.2 update, but they delayed it again, today. Legit critical thinking skills would entail if they thought this of the scores. to do their verifications PRIOR to s4 dropping. it's purely mismanagement. 2 weeks before s4 dropped would be them making sure everything is working, and functioning, ue; finalizing the update. they wouldn't still be adding or creating content around that time, and could have done checks around that time.

Very good and valid point that I didn't consider... primary vs gadget. Definitely makes me reconsider to some extent. However, I'm not asking them to be equal and still think the RPG should not have been nerfed.
I actually use unreal on the side and create for folks on fivver lol. Sure I’m not part of a major studio but I’m also not just bitching with no idea of what is involved in what they’re doing. “ start your own studio” is such a weird argument for fans that pay into a game. Ah yes, lemme go become a subsidiary of a mega corp like Nexon, that’s the only way to make my feedback and thoughts as a fan of a game that I buy into make sense. It's a very lazy counter argument that makes no sense. If I was studio head, I'd likely not be playing games much or presenting feedback here, but since I do it as a hobby/ on the side for some income, I can have concerns and thoughts on the games I play. If you have an awareness of the industry and how it works, then you should also have an awareness of the limitations of the knowledge you’re working with in this situation. You don’t know how big their different teams are. You don’t know what their workloads already looked like at the time. you don’t know what the backend of the game looks like or any of its technical limitations. You dont know of any personnel issues that might have arisen. yet, here you are stating things as though they’re fact.
Embark is aware people are excited for their rewards, they are aware that people earned their rewards, they are trying to ensure that the people who earned the rewards get the rewards and the people who didn’t don’t. They have communicated this across the entire process, which is a rarity for developers, to be so consistently communicative.
If the majority of the season had passed, and this was still happening, then I would understand anger, or whatever your respons is, but right now, all that makes sense, all that seems reasonable, is disappointment, confusion, or curiosity.

for the amount of effort it takes to aim the .50 akimbo, it does not reward the user with enough damage. The fact that this weapon is VERY HARD to aim, has a relatively low fire rate, and a small clip size, this weapon desperately needs more damage for it to be both fun and viable in casual or competitive play
I'm not angry. don't get it twisted. Concern, and anger are different things. And honestly no they don't communicate very well. At least in my opinion they don't. Again my point was that they COULD HAVE looked into what they're currently doing with verifying stats, for the duration of the season rather than only at the end of the season.. Doing so now almost implies they juust didn't check and verify at all for the previous seasons .There is no " technical limitation" for them as well btw. So long as Nexon chooses to financially back them, they technically have the infinite money glitch turned on.. There's not technical limitations for having suspicious leaderboard scores, and then noticing it extremely late into the season, right before their next one drops. We'll be approaching 1/4 ( one quarter) into the season 2 weeks from now. With the way they've phrased their update on where s3 rewards are, they can hit the button for sending them any time if they wanted to, AND the rewards can be dropped at any point of the duration of this circuit stop( 2 weeks). Their wording on it doesn't mean it's happening today, just that it is at any point in the next 2 weeks. I think half the season passing would just make it an insult to players for sure, but a quarter of the way in is still just an insult to players. I'm not here to argue about it tbh. It's not a life changing issue and isn't worth continuing on about beyond this. if you'd like to keep on about it, you can but I won't.

this is specifically because you could bind the primary fire buttons to mouse wheel scroll up and scroll down, and turn it into a fully automatic weapon that had no recoil. I’ve tried it out because, why not try something that might give you an edge. I don’t ever play light but doing that was a literal game changer once you’re used to firing with mouse wheel, but it made using equipment harder due to muscle memory. That’s what they’re talking about with specific binds. Definitely an exploit though and borderline cheating in the right hands. Definitely a great fix from them.

v9s is feeling much better now at its intended ranges though perhaps a slight range dropoff buff wouldnt hurt anybody and itd promote hitting headshots

Good balancing changes overall, only gripe is with data reshaper changes. You should have had the goo barrels convert into glitch instead of poison canisters. It ruins the flow a bit for seeking out reds canisters.

Regardless of any disagreements people here have about the direction of balancing in the game, can we please agree that "remove X" is a dumb opinion in every single instance it has ever been asked for?
Not only is it absolutely absurd to expect the devs to just wipe hours of work just for some balancing failures (or in the case of "remove Kyoto", delete hundreds of hours of work due to performance issues and poor taste), but it also leaves a playerbase already desperate for variety (note the disappointment in this season's lack of content) more desperate for more variety for the sake of questionable balancing decisions.
looked more into balancing and breakpoints online and I gotta apologize, this is a lot harder than I thought as you don't have that much resolution (ie 3 shots vs 4 vs overall time needed).
for the pike have you tried increasing the fire rate and lowering the damage? idk how many more average shots you need but if you combine it with recoil it could be a bit more skillful and maybe extend the average ttk for the playerbase. idk maybe 2 more shots for light, 3-4 medium , 4-5 heavy with a slight increase in kill time.. whatever that rpm is.. this could get tricky with the feel of the weapon but .556 (similarly .223) doesn't hit that hard anyway, just moves fast
for the model idk lower fire rate, increase # pellets, and more aggressive distance dmg curve + dmg falloff for limbs, torso etc. just need to figure out a good time in seconds then get the resolution somehow
could have just added an accessibility setting to let semi auto weapons be held down for fullauto, would literally not hurt anyone and they wouldnt have to ruin perfectly balanced and good feeling guns because of it

V9S i kinda get cause people were using macros, but... in all honesty just let people be able to hold it down for continuous fire, solves that problem and lowers the skill celing a little for an already underused weapon compartively speaking to others since the Open beta, i legit haven't seriously used V9s since. That comes down to a skill issue right now lol. Dashing behind them continuously while firing shots is an easy way to get the kill. Grappling upwards to get the high ground is an easy way to counter them. Pairing invis with goo grenade hiding your movements mostly is extremely effective as well. Stun gun is one of the most overpowered gadgets in the game. Stun them for essentially an easy kill. Most CL40 players don’t play smart. That means they’ll chase you rather than stick with their teams. Bait them into chasing you into your team. That brings it to a 2v3 which gives you the option to rush them and overpower them.

Fr again like I was stating earlier to mrgerbill. Means they could take 2 weeks to all roll out. This is something that should have been looked at and monitored thoroughly throughout the duration of s3, not only at the end. Idk why yall want to argue about it as if I didn’t mention their wording, as well as statements regarding it from 2 weeks ago. I’m done discussing the rewards. We know today ain’t the day and that’s all we really need to know. Having a list of recipients reinforces that there was bad actors, accumulating score they didn’t earn on the leaderboards. It should have been actively monitored for the duration of s3. Not just at the end of it.
I forgot which chat it was in. May have been the finals chat channel, but a couple days into the season for s3 I pointed out that the scores were mathematically impossible for the amount of the days the season had been out, and got ignored lmao.

Why does riot shield never break? The thing literally Cap's shield and takes infinite damage, give it 400 health and a 15 second cooldown after it breaks.
The heavy mesh shield breaks, the barricade breaks, the dome shield breaks, the goo breaks, ect.
I'm sorry the game runs at the lowest fps of any AAA game and I can't find their feet in the dark part full of ai artifacts. Bad game design when there is literally no counterplay to a shield.
Oh yeah, and good luck getting jumped by 3 riot shield users. Just uninstall if run into a gang of them by your self, there's fundamentally, by design, nothing you can do about it

- Right now when World Tour is already selected as the game mode you want to play, you have to click 2 times the play button, compared to the other mode where only 1 click is enough

Mesh shield is still dogshit and always will be as long as it has a cooldown. This game is fast paced, having your primary defensive utility be incredibly slow isn’t going to do anything. Just let people juggle shields again.

V9S nerf is fucking ridiculous. Light was already terrible and instead of adding an accessibility feature to make all semi auto weapons able to be fired at full capacity by holding down the trigger, you just nerf the gun.
The damage on CL40 seems like an indirect heavy buff.
So let’s go ahead hit the goo gun with a couple nerfs. I saw a guy using it to build a bridge, heavy should not have movement like that.
Second, and stick with me on this my fellow redditors, I saw them build a goo gun cocoon around a trophy so I couldn’t defib it. So I propose that defib ignites people and gets a range buff please. Thank you.
Thirdly, I was being double heal beamed and the same goo gun guy stopped me from stealing a cashout by shooting me with a googun. This is not fair by any means. Double heal beam should make me invulnerable and immovable.
Please nerf the goo gun before this oppressive goo tech becomes prevalent. He would teabag me as he locked me down in goo and I could not move. Then they flew away in some sort of goo airship. Lights have two gadgets that can destroy buildings instantly, and heavy has two gadgets that can destroy buildings instantly + a weapon that can destroy buildings.
Originally, mediums could only destroy buildings instantly by placing two explosive mines, and other than that, you had to steadily damage them with frag grenades or CL-40, throw red canisters that even the thrower doesn't know where they will explode, or throw orange barrels that don't fly at all and wait for them to explode.
So now we can only carry one explosive mine, and we have to wait for the cooldown to place a second one.
In reality, we can't destroy buildings quickly unless we bring a CL-40, or for other weapons, we have to bring both explosive mines and frag grenades.
It was fun to play a game where you could destroy buildings with any build, but now it's just boring.
- Connection issues haven't been fixed much.
Even if you can connect, the synchronization problem still occurs.
There is an issue where the player is displayed as level 1 even though they are over level 60, and when that happens, the screen where you can purchase equipment also becomes strange, but this has not been fixed either.
Also, the problem of the game being paused during play and having to be restarted (which started happening in season 4) still occurs.

If we’re being real the V9S is firing a subsonic 9mm and does almost as much damage as dual 50 cal rounds. I think you’re going to be okay. V9S should be gadget sidearm anyway like that RPG so that snipers can defend themselves and finish kills with much lower damage.

You are very likely to flat out loose against a stack, that doesnt change wether or not they have prime, so there is no harm being done
But if you get the vault in, your team gets the edge it needs to decently compete with a stack
If you wipe them, then enough time passes where stalling becomes a valid option which can end up getting you a cashout
In solo q vs solo q, it doesnt feel disruptive for now

Okay so they know and acknowledge this. And I'm not saying that complaining is evil. Yes, it needs to be done sometimes, but that's what this community does all the time. We're only in season 4 of this game and Embark as a whole is still only a year old, i believe. They gotta figure stuff out still I'm sure. I just feel like we should be giving them more time to make this game great. Everyone complaining all the time I'm sure makes them feel like their work is taken for granted.
"Interrupt opponents who are stealing your team's cashout or interfering with your team's decryption at the terminal" does not count unless you kill them as they're holding interact. This makes getting points towards the challenge difficult for any damage method that doesn't 1-shot. Interrupting should include them having to stop holding interact, or dealing damage 0.5s~ after them releasing. This would fit the description of the task better. Or, rename the challenge to "Kill players who are stealing your cashout or interfering with your terminal decryption"
The RPG reload animation can be succesfully cancelled (gets reloaded)by weapon switching after about only 0.5 seconds into the animation.
The intent of a 2+ sec reload isn’t really in the game for those able to reliably cancel effectively.
Please fix the hit registration on the Winch. It is way too sticky and often grabs people you don’t even hit with the winch. In this case, we lost the cashout due to the terrible winch accuracy

I had this feeling that embark was going to actually nerf the by far worst performing class in the game in competitive, but I couldn't back it up. I thought hey, maybe the v9s change actually upped the dps and made it shoot slower, giving light a single viable weapon, but nope. I'm done. I have over 600 hours in this game. S1>S2>S3>S4. If you actually care about competitive balance, balance it independantly from other gamemodes, or force roleQ. These are your only options, because it seems like it's impossible for you to actually balance the game.
If you go for the better path and do independant balance, literally revert every nerf you gave light from the launch of this game. I'm not even joking. Keep the health regen too. Do this, and light will be ON PAR with H and M in competitive. This might sound insane, but it's the truth.

Light is just unplayable this season, and I'm saying this as a heavy main. I have always played light occasionally, but always hated it competitively. You just can't do anything against the current meta, the model destroys the light, the rpg almost onetap, the maps (like kyoto) make it so you serve nothing (while pike shooting at you), the recent cl-40 buff was cherry on top. And even if you manage to do some kills here and there, the current meta favouring triple med, the enemies you just killed get revived right after. The nature of light, with the 150 hp, makes it so you have to play a certain way. But despite being sneaky, you get punished (whether it's deserved or not, rpg...). I feel like the HP difference is near from impossible to balance, unless you make drastic change to the overall balance (which would profoundly change the nature of the game, so I'm not sure if this is even viable...).
I know these kind of reviews pop everyday in this channel, but I'm genuinely convinced light will never be viable competitively...

Most useless change, lights almost only viable weapon is now worse but easier to use. It's probably a change made off of the statistic of it's use rate. While on paper it was a really good weapon, with the sights not being centered and the xp-54 previously overshadowing it people probably weren't using it. I think it's a bad change and that Embark should've let people find out how good the weapon is or actually fix the camera shake uncentering your crosshair. The RPM being lower is a bandaid fix for the camera shake aswell

This makes it simpler to use for the entire player base and gives it more counter play in line with the other shields in the game.
A lot of people pointed out: why not use fire or gas or drop a grenade to counter. Well if you play in comp you can't magically spawn in different equipment that counters such a niche weapon pick.

I've played riot shield until I got level 6 with it. I've retried it every time it got buffed and with my experience, alongside every one else's who has rated this weapon, I can say with confidence that riot shield is the most E/D tier weapon in the game. You should try playing with the riot shield, it's main downsides is that the medium is not fast enough to catch up to people like the light sword can and the riot shield does not deal enough damage like the heavy's sledge does. It's frustrating to play against riot shields, especially three of them when and only when you don't know how to counter them. You should always keep as much distance as possible when fighting it and, many don't like this next one but to my knowledge it is required when you don't have explosives / fire / gas / charge n slam, you need to play w/ your team to take out any riot player. A common strat that I often use is let my light or medium player aggro a riot shield player and run away from him, meanwhile me and optionally my teammate start gunning him down. I mentionned you need a light or medium for this trick but there are plenty of other strategies if you are running HHH. charge and slam is riot shield kryptonite, placing barricades if you have them can slow down a riot player that's chasing you (hard to pull off for some, but certainly possible) and rpg'ing a riot shield user can drop his health enough to the point where you can easily kill him by facing him head on instead of running away and getting your teammate to gun him down.
To close this off, I completely understand your frustration w/ the riot shield and especially full teams of them, but once you understand how you can use your specific kit to counter them (any kit is possible, some are harder than others (katanas as main weapon), and some are laughably easy (cl40, sledge and maybe charge and slam cause some newer players find it a bit to difficult to control)). I also strongly recommend that you play 5 or so rounds w/ riot

The pike is a lh1 clone but with a class with more health,like who thought it’s a good idea?
The hipfire and fire rate is insane and it makes the revolver obsolete as pike has better stats.
The time to kill over all is way too low so most weapons need a damage nerf or light class needs more health as it truly unplayable.
The dagger needs one click stab back plus u can hold.
The rpg could have more damage area radius but still needs a player damage nerf and revert reload nerf(makes no difference).
Mediums with double sword gets destroyed,give it to light with an alt spin attack instead of bullet deflection

I hope more people than just me will talk about lack of variations for the new map and a bunch of others. There is like no day and night changes, no weather changes. Fortune stadium is sure really cool map, but it is literally has one variant. I get that mapmaking is hella hard, but its literally feels like Seoul in the holtow zone. Not saying that this is bad, but sure hope we will get more various map modules. I even ready to have next season without a new map, if embark will work on variations for what we already have

The medium's RIOT shield and twin swords are useless.
- Although both can be defended against, their defensive abilities are not enough.
At the very least, can't the RIOT shield be used to crouch and guard?
- The medium itself has no running ability that can't keep up with the light build.
But these two weapons only have attack and guard motions that swing the weapon on the spot.
Lights have specializations that allow them to chase the enemy, while heavy weapons have specializations for charging at the enemy, pulling the enemy in, and stalling the enemy, but what about mediums? ...
Mediums have no way to catch up with the enemy in close combat.
Aren't only a few enthusiasts using either of these?
Do some drastic reforms need to be made to get people to use them?
By the way, I tried using both of them and immediately concluded that they were less useful than the melee weapons of the light and heavy builds, so I don't use them anymore.

But i would be afraid that it makes you choose between shooting the hologram (the medium kills you) or shooting the medium (likely wont have enough time to destroy the hologram, need to fight a 2nd person while you need to reload)
It already does that now, but with this change the defibbed ends up with more hp
I would rather make the hologram have a set amount of hp (like 150 maybe?)
Something you can put out somewhat quickly by corner peeking for example
And a set amount of time (~4 seconds) no matter the class
And if it doesnt get destroyed, the person comes back with 100% hp
It would end up more consistently counterable than what you wrote, but i think its needed

Hey just an FYI the damage opponents with arena carriables mission is totally bugged for me and wont progress past 1/20, I hit a guy with an orange barrel at the start of a bank it, then none of my hits counted after for the entire match and match after that, probably got more than halfway in hits but still stuck at 1/20

it feels awful to use. the rpm feels like if my hand was tired from clicking after a late night session, even though i'm clicking faster.
basically, it feels like it doesnt match my clicking speed at all.
i can't even secure my own kills. they're all being stolen because its too slow.
IMO the main reason people don't like the debif is the ability to driveby defib. If we make the defib function the same as a default revive (i.e. making it a stationary charge), with a speed boost.. make it cut the default revive time in half..

I’d take any change to the drive by defib at this point. I don’t mind the defib if it wasn’t rewarded so much for just sprinting out in to the open and getting a free revive. Sure you can do things to kill the revived player, but it just seems like so much reward for so little action.
Right now you spend the time to out-position or out-shoot your opponent and it’s all thrown away in a single instant because of their entire team runs the defib. Fighting teams two or three times makes actually fighting feel so unrewarding.
When I tried out the CL40 to see what all the fuss was the nicest feature was being able to easily move trophies. Watching a medium mindlessly run after a trophy defibs out while I’m bouncing it around with the CL40 is a fun little mini game if you have time.

The reason i would like for the different classes to have different hp and revive times is so that you have to make actual choices on who to revive, in the current state a heavy is always the best choice for defib, and a light always the worst, but under my idea, in a tense situation you might choose to revive the light because its faster, or in a more sustained teamfight you might go for the heavy to buy time
my intention is actually to make gadgetplay more viable against defib, like glitch grenades, pyro grenades, gas grenades, would all be able to counter an active defib that isnt very carefully placed while putting pressure on the medium who revived, and to make defib more of a faster revive like you said

This is not game feedback but more something I would like to see. I mostly play The Finals on my desktop but when I am not home I have a m1 max mbp. If the game could / would ever be ported over to Mac OS it would be amazing. I think apples new arm chips are more than capable of running this game. This could also open the game up to more people, granted probably not a large audience. But none the less on a platofrm with not many gaming options it would be a go to choice for those who do use it.
I would like to just play using apps like Whiskey or Parallels but because of EAC for some reason you can't play on VM machines. So at the moment there is no way to play the finals on mac at all. If it would be possible to allow EAC on VM machines i'd be happy with that as well at the very least.

I kind of agree.. the weapon was not used in the capacity of the model. Why the change? They said they dont want to decrease the damage but they did reduce the damage by 25 DPS.. some say its an irrelevant stat. But the RPM decrease is a serious change to the forgivness of the weapon as a whole.
If you want the original score board just don’t favorite/star those contracts.

The Mesh Shield keeps the meta honest. It promotes teamplay and aids defensive strategies.
Without it, the game devolves into a super aggro meta. Especially with the healing beam nerf, which makes the heavies switch to Charge and mediums to demat instead, making defending a fool's game, as fortifications become meaningless.
I honestly find the game unplayable without it. And won't play again unless it's fully reverted.

The V9S nerf was an unjust and unnecessary measure, its intent was to punish cheaters but it just ended up punishing long time users of the weapon who now have to get used to a worse close range LH1
Instead of tackling the exploit that allowed for users of macros to bypass the anti cheat and with that the set fire rate of the weapon, why have the devs chosen to nerf the weapon altogether? I feel like that is not the approach that was needed to be taken here, but rather, the devs should focus on punishing the users of those external programs/devices and fixing those exploits, not in changing a perfectly solid weapon because of something external to the game itself.
Also, an easy fix to users that would use the mouse wheel to up its fire rate was just removing the ability to bind stuff to it.
Update 4.20 and no green skins.... cmon now....

The World Tour Primetime buff is really refreshing Embark! I think it’s a good move and does not feel overbearing because you can’t regenerate it.
There are two Gadgets that have maintained almost 100% pickrates ever since the game released, despite numerous nerfs:
- Defibrillator
- RPG
This is because their functional value is immense regardless of minor tweaks to resurrection time or damage dealt
Defib:
It is easily good enough to be made into a Specialisation

They are perma-picks and have been since inception.
There are 15/13/13 Gadget options per class yet for Medium & Heavy 1/3rd of their slots are permanently locked. Closer to 2/3rds if you account for Jump/Zip & Dome.
Add more Gadgets that rival the utility of Defib & RPG and you will never see 90% of the Gadgets in the game ever again.
They also just provide far too much value for far too little effort.
Heavy nerfs are an absolute necessity & have been since launch.

not really. rpg might need a rework but defib does not need to be touched. there isnt a single slot on medium that is contested by defib. it is the only main support gadget on the class and its already extremely counterable in game. it feels fine to play against and is balanced on its own (ignoring MMM defib chain but thats not because of defib thats just because M alone has no weakness and can provide too much value as a class.)
medium needs more support gadgets so that defib is an actual contested slot. dont just nerf defib when its already fine in game because people arent taking inherently worse gadgets like data reshaper

This was in the patch notes the patch after my week false ban. It has been proven inaccurate yet my account is one step away from being smited when i spent 1k+ on this game. The reason for not removing my ban or at least the strike because they were “confident in the anti cheat” i love this game and want it to succeed but all my hard work could be one step away from getting taken away. I was literally told they can’t tell me what software was on my pc for security reasons. I have 23000 kills and 13000 deaths. I am not a cheater been playing since beta i just want to talk to someone who will actually help me in some kind of way instead of treating me like a cheater when i never cheated.

"we want to discourage 3rd parties" gives buff of 100 health that directly encourages 3 parties At this point I think the think the plot is completely lost. season 4 is a dud. Hopefully the vision comes back next season, but there's no hope for the rest of s4.
Defib has one of the strongest values in the entire game & is the predominant cause of MMM. It easily rivals even the better Specialisations, and surpasses the weaker ones.
It - and to a lesser extent RPG - obtains its extremely high value through very low comparative effort. That’s always terrible for a game no matter the context.
Add more Gadgets that contest Defib and you will never see 90% of the Gadgets ever again.
Data Reshaper is actually fun, unique, and useful, but it sees very little use because 2/3rds of Medium’s Gadgets slots are perma-locked by Defib & Jump/Zip. Your suggestion would ensure 3/3 slots are unchanging forever.
At the rate of development we’ve seen since launch - which has only slowed down as player numbers dwindled - it takes many months for a single new Gadget per class to be added. So it’d take years for you to have multiple options that compete with Defib, and even then you’d still have the problem of 90% of Gadgets effectively ceasing to exist.
wtf ur problem. it makes the first team last longer. first game on as heavy wiped 2 teams defending on a double stacked cashout. maybe scaling the health ammounts could be more balenced. 100 for every class might need balencing.

The CL40 is too strong, and having explosive weapons in ranked mode is unfair for example, RPG grenade launchers and a rocket launcher. Me personally I think that all rocket or explosive based weapons shouldn’t be allowed in ranked or should be restricted.

Defib is the predominant reason for MMM. Not the only. Medium enabled Heavy to be meta in the past via Defib/heal. Heavy’s loss of value has just replaced H with more M.
The value of Defib is also a major reason Light has never been meta. It cripples the game from head to toe.

The CL-40 can barely hit a dummy nearly 25 meters away at the back of the second practice range, whose direction is known.
The bullets fall in a large arc, so even an extremely experienced person would have a hard time hitting it in one shot.
Try it. You probably wouldn't even be able to hit it with the blast.
It's at that distance that an AKM or M11 could easily hit it (though to get consecutive hits you have to control the recoil and aim while chasing the enemy,

How are we supposed to grind out the 99,000+ fans for the sponsors? The contracts only give like 36,000 and you tend to only get 100 per match if you’re lucky.
Instead of giving the team that cashes out 350 hp give each player 100 more hp lights with a sword is stupid or even having a light with that is pretty annoying to play against especially when their kit is op already. Yall cater too much to light. They complain way too much. They aren’t supposed to be a running gun play type. They’re supposed to be eyes and the damage for other people to kill.

It’s always been the mediums making them unkillable and on the off chance they died they just revived instantly for free. Embark has nerfed heavy over and over and wonder why this doesn’t change. High damage primaries is the pridominant reason for MMM. Light has never been meta because of said high damage primaries. Defib ought to get a small nerf.

I think the primetime buff is targeting pre-meditated 3rd-partying (where you actively decide not to go to a vault or insert a cashbox). But the real third partying issue rn is that once there are two cashouts in, people would choose to go to the contested cashout over the uncontested cashout. This does not fix that and actually exacerbates it, making it a nightmare for the first team that contests the cashout/the second party (what did they do to deserve it?
Imagine this scenario. There are two teams that have inserted cashouts and you and the fourth team are fighting it out. You wipe them and start making your way to cashout A. You will probably lose the fight or at least take a long time to chip away at their extra health before finally properly contesting them. The best case scenario is your team manages to wipe the team, perhaps with one of your teammates barely clinging to life. Then the team u wiped earlier comes in to clean ur last teammate up and claims the cashout
SOLUTION: Make it so that anyone within a 30m radius gets the primetime buff, but it has a CAPACITY OF 2 TEAMS. It's first come first serve. If there are already two teams in the radius of the cashout the third-partying team does not receive the buff. That way it COMPLETELY discourages third partying unless its required for them to win (in chaotic overtimes, etc). Idk how well this would work tho esp considering new players would have a hard onboarding experience
Same. Unfortunately I cannot play until matchmaking balancing is fixed. It maxes out my frustration when my team is being outkilled on average 4-to-1. I understand it's a casual mode, but my team hasn't won in more than 15 games and we've been getting absolutely demolished.
Maybe people are creating new accounts, maybe they're much higher level players, or maybe they have aimbot, I don't know. All I know is it needs to be looked into.
I do want to add that the game itself is amazing and I've been very impressed and enjoying it a lot (up until this matchmaking issue started).

The KS-23 needs some love besides doing increased structural damage. Did y'all forget that it's also supposed to kill people? The damn thing is a precision weapon that you've refused to allow us to ADS with, despite it having ironsights already attached to the weapon model. If you're gonna go this route could you at the very least increase the projectile size? It's unreasonably difficult to use this thing in close quarters. If you miss even once you're fucked, which is remarkably easy to do with a single shot carbine.

If you want to reduce the fire rate while maintaining the damage the weapon does please make the RPM 400. (with 40 damage per shot)
My Preposed V9S Configuration:
RPM: 400 (reduced by 30)
Damage per shot: 40 (increased by 3)
DPS: 400 * 40 / 60 = ≈ 266.67 (similar to the original DPS)

The new data reshaper change made it worse with an insignificant upside. Knowing the rotation allowed me to get the barrel I need for the situation I'm in. I genuinely do not care about glitch barrels even existing in the game. You could've put them anywhere in the rotation, why make it random after a certain point? That one change eliminate half the usefulness of the gadget, making it more niche, instead of versatile.

I genuinely just had a game with 8k damage, 4k support and 12 revives but am called bad by the light with 11k damage and 200 support and zero objective play.

A lot of people are complaining about defib being too effective. Why not just give statues a defib time limit? time runs out, you'll have to manually revive them. or the other way around, you need to wait a few seconds before you can defib them, preventing defib spamming

just had that happen but it was being shunted downwards and being stuck in place. We had the platform all the way to their side and about to win and it felt like a giant lag spike hit for everyone on my team and we were falling thru buildings and getting stuck in place it cost us the game

I just played a full match of powershift where it was me and two other players against a full team, it didn't bother to fill the other two spots until the very literal end of the match, like 2 seconds before the game ended. I still feel like Embark's approach to matchmaking is fucking insane.
nah, cocooning trophies are balanced for where it is because of how badly implemented defibs are at the moment. setting up goo cocoons takes time to do and is meant to keep players hostage that are in your zone. it also stops defib chaining better than what mines could ever do. goo isn't a material that locks trophies up forever, you can just shoot away the material to get your friend back pretty easily. so when you aren't fighting people, this isn't an issue. If you run into more goo defenses, then carry more fire grenades, or run guns that can shred through goo. the flying machines, though, need to be looked at yes.
Tbh the only thing I find to be undeservingly above average for the pike is the hip fire. Besides that it's alright right now
devs could have just made pulling the mesh shield out have a longer animation so there can be a skill ceiling of how you juggle the mesh shield

If a game is in a tie when the timer runs out, the deciding factor should come down to who has the larger score totals when combined (Combat, Support, Objective).
when LH1 was broken on S3 release everyone hated it and got it nerfed on the first week, even though it wasn't as big of an issue cuz RPG was still a free kill against light
but when pike is a better LH1 and is on medium and is dominating every lobby, it's balanced and "get gud". Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Bring poweshift to ranked and World Tour
with medium is as strong as it is, one thing that sounds nice is making breach on heavy and light alike significantly better.
Heavy's options for breach have become increasingly limited over time mostly through the nerfs to C4's count and usage on carriables. Light's have recently been expanded, but their options are mostly significantly slower compared to Medium's demat, which is handily the best combat breach in the game and can make their indoor movement pretty unparalleled for a class that, prior to demat's introduction, had that as a weakness relative to the other two classes. It'd be nice for other classes to have more potential options to quickly breach and attack from surprise angles and, on top of that, just stronger demo in general to make it easier to remove high ground.

What do you mean "a game is in a tie when the timer runs out"? I never had a tied game. Overtime in cash out is a just enough time to finish cashing out, and maxed at 1 minute. Powershift has overtime when the team controlling the platform are on the opposing team's side. Quick cash ends after one team completes 2 cash out... what kind of ties are you talking about?

LH1 was broken throughout S1 to S3 because of how much better it was to the sr-84. it was a better, more consistent, version of sr-84 that by adding a scope to the weapon it would just make the sr-84 pointless in design. so I understood why it was nerfed. but the pike didn't need to be on the medium class for how it is meant to be handled long-ranged. light was THE zoner archetype for the finals, adding the zoner archetype to medium makes light pointless in that aspect, since why would you be the class that has high-risk high-reward when you can have low-risk high-reward. pike to the medium, is like reopening a can of worms like with the fcar back in S1. and I'm glad Embark had more suspicions about the weapon needing more nerfing in the patch notes. as the light class strengths and weaknesses are you guys tend to die quickly against some weapons, I feel like some people in the community are growing resentment towards light; because of how quickly some of your weapons kill, how many gadgets that are annoying to fight against, and how many weapons that are balanced for medium and heavy tend to get nerfed because of light being too weak for them (getting killed from a model 1887.) So light needs to have some of his weapons give more health, like 50 more health for short-ranged weapons, and 25 heath for medium-ranged weapons, while also adjusting the damage output to be more fair for everyone involved. some weapons that rely on being short-range need more health and other long-range weapons don't need that extra health.
Good job embark with the 4.2 patch there is some very good changes very quickly into the season. Love to see it

Regarding S4 weapons:
The Pike will see further nerfs in the future. Embark devs have clearly stated in the patch notes that they felt it would still be overtuned after 4.2. I agree that it's still too strong in close range fights. RoF and hipfire nerfs would make sense.
I really find Deagles to be well balanced overall. Right click accurate fire is devastating at mid range, but they're more cumbersome to use up close. The weapon doesn't feel frustrating, whichever side of the barrel you're on. Damage at longer ranges may be slightly high, though. The best weapon addition of this season IMO, not to mention the aesthetic badassness.
I have less playtime with the M26. It only works well at almost point blank range like the SH1900, so it's definitely not OP.
Regarding 4.2 changes.
Glad the CL40 got well deserved nerfs. I saw less players use it, those who did sometimes killed themselves if they were dumb with it. Good.
I haven't tried the MS yet, but I still disagree with the tweaks. Mostly because I found MS 'juggling' actually took skill to be effective, and could be countered.
But if the activation cooldown is to stay, set it to one value regardless of HP count. A random hit on the shield is enough to double its cooldown... it would be slightly more logical if it had 100% HP each time it was activated, but that's not the case.

I love this game so damn much and I wanna have fun with it, but when I get paired with nothing but the sweatiest 3-stack defib mediums tryhards in CASUAL GAMEMODES, where my team just wipes 5 times in a row? All the fun and uniqueness of the game is just gone.
I'm a decisively mid player, so why do I keep going up against people who do 12/2? Does the player base consist of only 90% pro aim trainer MLG strat types VS 10% people who can't find the W key?
You also keep nerfing all of the counters towards these playstyles (glitch mines, heavy shields, etc), because they were too efficient in high-ELO matchmaking.
But the effects on the casual play is absolutely devastating, and I feel punished for trying to play any type of playstyle that isn't that meta.
If this is by design, then this game is going to have to go on the back of the shelf. And I'll honestly be fucking heartbroken about it.

When they hand out the emerald rewards for season 3 maybe they could also announce how many rewards they handed out for each rank, something like "x amount of players reached emerald 1" kind of thing.
Would be pretty neat to see how many people achieved which rank, and those who did reach em1 would get a more sense of accomplishment knowing how many, or few, also did. ❤️

Small thing, but it would be cool if there was a system that can show you what you can buy with the amount of multibucks you have. Asc/Des, Color, Area, etc
For emerald & ruby achievements, make it so the weapon you used most during your playtime in the season will be your ruby or emerald weapon.
This will break the meta and incentives players to play a different gun that they really want in ruby or emerald.
It will also be a bigger achievement if you as a player have a very difficult gun in emerald, something you can really brag with.

Increasing self-damage means you can’t just shoot it at your feet & easily win the trade.
Just don't shoot your toe. The Penalty is meant to keep you from doing so. Same goes for CL-40. If it's not punishing enough people would still abuse this mechanic...

did something happen to SBMM? i am silver 4 and every game i join into has at least 1 team which is all emerald 1 and it just ruins my fun. this happens both in casual and in world tour.
Out of 5 ranked games in 3 we were 2.. I shouldn't be punished for leaving a game when we are 2 or even 1... its pointless and I just lose time and at least -500 ranked points... EMBARK you need to figure this one out, many people leave or maybe just crash and do not come back... if a whole team leaves does not affect the other teams, thus is not destroying their game but it does for us who are left ingame by themselves... fix light sword + dash. its too fucking broken and people are abusing the hell out of it. even in casual-comp modes like WT and this is a serious issue for anyone worth their salt in fps game-making to fix and since we've seen an uprise in players in a f2p game the amount of cheaters has been increasing aswell, soft aimbot, aimbot, invincibility and yes light sword dash players sometimes are using invicibility aswell.
Nowhere did I state that's their only thought when balancing, but this is how the current situation feels to a "silver at best" type of player. Anything effective at countering tryharding in casual games is killed, because it works even better in high rank comp.

Yeah I feel exactly the same, it's insane how there's so many high skilled players just wiping the map in casual modes rn. It kills the fun so fast. I've also encountered the same aimbotting light in 3 consecutive WT matches and I just don't wanna touch the game anymore. Sucks, because I love it!

but if its against another heavy surly both parties should recieve the same damage? i agree doing it point blank should punish the player but to receive 156 damage to myself last game when I directly hit another heavy and only doing 100 to them seems punishing. There has also been times where I've received too much damage for something I'm not even close to as well as directly hitting an enemy and doing hardly anything it just feels very inconsistent.
Is it common to lose a game of power shift with 20 kills but only to get 950xp? I joined games that lasted no more than 10 seconds that gave me 800xp. How is xp distributed?
I am moderately sure it is just disabled this season. Matches feel like a constant clown fiesta either a stomp one way or the other.

The V9S nerf was an unjust and unnecessary measure, its intent was to punish cheaters but it just ended up punishing long time users of the weapon who now have to get used to a worse close range LH1
Instead of tackling the exploit that allowed for users of macros to bypass the anti cheat and with that the set fire rate of the weapon, why have the devs chosen to nerf the weapon altogether? I feel like that is not the approach that was needed to be taken here, but rather, the devs should focus on punishing the users of those external programs/devices and fixing those exploits, not in changing a perfectly solid weapon because of something external to the game itself.
Also, an easy fix to users that would use the mouse wheel to up its fire rate was just removing the ability to bind stuff to it.
Nah, this would work for controllers, but I'd hate it with MKB. What they've done instead with the 'ADS' stance is very good. You pretty much have to right click with Deagles to hit your targets, except it makes you a slow/immobile target, which is a good tradeoff. The same power with very accurate hipfire would have been hellish.
the pike should not be able to hipfire effectively increase its bloom.
Drop the mag size down so it's only effective if your spacing your shots from mid to long rage and not just a stronger light dmr

give the fcar 2 to 3 more damage drop the mag size down by 5 and decrease recoil for the first 4 to 6 shots.

In regards to medium's weapons, the writing is clearly on the wall for the pike and the model. Both are overturned and likely going to be nerfed hard very soon. And while that may be deserved, the current state of affairs combined with embark's tendency for heavy handedness would leave the famas as medium's only decent gun. Some may point to the akm, but I am of the opinion that the akm has always been underperforming. It simply remained popular due to never being as bad as the fcar and famas at their worst. And with how universally people seem to regard the famas as feeling terrible, I believe a rebalance is in order for all three of medium's assault rifles. My changes would be as follows:
For the akm I'd like to see it trade hipfire cones with the fcar and get bumped up to 21 damage. Then have it's falloff range change to 28-35 meters instead of 30-37.5, just to enforce as the shortest range rifle.
Fcar should go down to 490(from the current 540) rpm, but get it's old 25 damage and 20 ammo back. Also a 60% modifier at max falloff, and the aforementioned hipfire trade with the akm(this is a nerf).
Famas is in need of the least changes. It should simply have no horizontal recoil and a 65% modifier at maximum falloff range. Possibly a larger hipfire cone.
I believe these changes would be enough to allow all three rifles to be both distinct and useful, but not overtuned.

Idk. pike I agree with. It should operate exactly like the L Sniper as far as its range and damage drop.
Model I’m heavily conflicted on. It has a pretty moderate ttk with a heavily punishing learning curve. Does its range need looked at? Yes. Could the spread be changed slightly yes. But anything heavy handed would just kill the gun completely and that would be sad in a season where skill based shooting has gone so far out the window up the street and almost out of the galaxy this season.
As we can all see, THE FINALS' community is deeply passionate when it comes to concept art and making drip. Earlier this year we saw the switch away from exclusive bundle pricing to individual items now being made available for purchase. This alone allowed a great amount of customisation and personalisation of the game. But @shy token is back this time to argue the case for community driven input.
By allowing the community to create fan-made concepts and outfits using available items, TF has allowed its community to creatively flourish. However, we think, and there are others who have considered this idea as well within the community, that new community made items should be given the chance to be official and in-game.
This would not be the first time that such a thing exists in the world of gaming. Warframe's 'TennoGen' is one of the best examples of having the community be involved in the creative process. This engagement's potential is virtually limitless and invaluable for the game's longevity and community. It can be further sustained by giving the creator(s) a chance to be awarded through a variety of ways, in combination or merely by themselves:
(a) recognition,
(b) in-game or IRL payment,
(c) but most importantly a free (perhaps personalised) version of the very same item that will be immortalised in the world of TF.

Hey can we actually nerf the pike for real? Bringing it to 52 dmg still makes it 3 shots to light, still makes it 5 shots to M. It only nerfed it against heavies by one extra shot. Either lower it to 49 dmg or give it damage drop off.

@round hornet model has not been nerfed once since open beta. It DOMINATED the game all of s3 and they refuse to nerf it. The recent pike nerf makes almost no difference. Medium has been a broken class when stacked since the start of this game and that will never change. Dont worry M is safe.
Can you please bring back the big wipe penalty. Or at least make it 20%. It will definitely make the game better. And it will prevent most third party.

Raw ttk doesn't matter as much for the model. It is a burst damage weapon that offers full mobility, so you don't have to commit to a firing position like a rifle.
The problem with the model is the damage more than the range. Being able to vaporize lights or face check heavies when both classes are (for the most part) balanced around close range power is a bit much for the mid range support.
