I played a round with two CL40 teams, one mmh team, my own team being lmh (I was the med, running demat, reshaper, zip and defib, fcar) we won pretty handily. You know how? I thought for a second before engaging. Told my teammates "stay together, but not too close so we can beam down whoever appears but not all get hit by one nade". Realized that gls have a much harder time damaging people above them, so my team would approach from above, and that made the CL40 next to useless. Like that, we steamrolled both gl teams and the only one we had any issue with was the mmh, but we pulled through. If you're having issues with someone running all cl40s, it's a genuine skill issue. It's a terrible team comp, and it only beats people who run headlong into full teams solo

The CL40 is broken. My issues atm is that it simply requires no skill to get good amounts of damage dealt. Maybe it needs a simple stat nerf, maybe it should have a big damage modifier for direct hits and reduced AoE damage or maybe something else. I think the designers should think about what purpose the CL40 should serve in the game, should it be a low risk, low reward kind of gun that will make new people get to grips with how the game works, or should it be something completely different. That's something I will leave up to embark. In it's current state it feels like the CL40 is a low risk (because of the AoE damage), high reward weapon. To me the gun really doesn't feel right at the moment. It is especially infuriating as a revolver main, a high risk high reward gun, to get melted by 3 CL40s in less time than I'm able to shoot my second bullet. You could argue I just need better positioning and a better approach, and you're right, but that doesn't subtract from the fact that this gun requires little skill to be very successful. I wouldn't mind needing to sweat like this if I was going up to 3 insanely high skilled players using a high risk high reward weapon, at least then I would have respect for the hours those players put into mastering that gun.

To close my rant off, I don't know what direction the CL40 should head in, but in it's current state it feels cheesy, a gun that can dominate the entire lobby without much required skill.

I have been playing this game since season 1, and this personally feels like the most broken gun I've ever come across. It's fine If your opinion on that matter differs from mine, but as many here have pointed out, the CL40 is not fair at the moment. Please do something about that

there isn’t an accurate visual or audio cue that backstab is ready while holding,ADD a glint to the tip of the dagger blade and a ting sound to show its ready.

U can BOTH single click and hold throwing knife secondary attack but u can’t with dagger stab,plz fix it!!!!

The AKM isn't competitive anymore. The Pike came in as a super strong weapon, and instead of leaving the AKM alone to compete, you nerfed the magazine size, which lost me countless gunfights today. Again, an example where you could have had 2 guns be fun to play with, and now we're back to 1.

Anyone who says you can't beat a CL-40 probably has ammunition or a blade in their head instead of a brain.
Try using one and you'll see for yourself.
The CL-40 is full of flaws, but in exchange for those, it has big bullets and a large blast radius.
You only get defeated if you try to get into a proper gunfight, but if you know the CL-40's flaws, it's actually weaker than a heavy MGL32.

Revert shield, it's had the opposite of the intended effect, people aren't more team friendly with it, they're just using it as a panic button then getting Lasered since it runs out in a couple pike pot shots

Nerf CL-40. Keep the dmg on direct hits and remove the splash damage. It’s broken and incredibly easy to use. U just have to sit over the cashout or behind a corner to absolutely dominate. Go into cover after every shot and you will doing so well. Even on close distance you can easily outmove the opponent while you don’t need any aim at all.

Lag is terrible, crashes before youre even in game, when you reconnect the game is half played-losing rs and getting nowhere.. sights all glitched out.. these crashes have been happening all of S3 and continue, this should be priority

To me the cl-40 is like the drake sword of the finals, it's a noob trap, really good low elo, bad high elo or against people with good team coordination and positioning. If we want to make it not oppressive in low elo or casual lobbies while also being at least playable in diamond I think the range of the explosive should be nerfed, instead of the damage to increase the skill cieling, and not a crutch for bad aim.

100% this is lack of communication because i dont have my "team" to play with so most of the time i play with randoms and here is the issue
i like the finals for that chaotic gameplay that you have to compete in all that chaos but when 2-3 different targets jump around you and shoot explosives, like i said, this is too much, you can kill one of them but others will 100% kill you
its only possible to destroy such teams while being together with your team which happens rare with randoms
i dont wanna look selfish so lets say im a decent player okay, not the best but totally not the worst, but still this is ALMOST impossible to kill two or more cl40
more than that i agree with some people here that cl40 doesnt require much skill to play it, you just take highground and aim somewhere near the enemy and shoot OR just go closer to the enemy and jump around it while shooting

That's probably because the enemy hadn't used the CL-40 enough.
If you experience many situations where you can't do anything with the CL-40, you'll know how to deal with it.
I've been using the CL-40 since the open beta, and even after the official release I used it a lot, so it's rank 5, but the AKM is also rank 5. That's because I've encountered many enemies that the CL-40 couldn't do anything about.
Recently, I've been using not only the AKM but also FCAR and model, so it's rank 3, and the FAMAS will probably be rank 3 soon.

we gotta fix the performance embark its so hard to bring new players when performance is so bad,

for some reason changing the view distance setting also affects player models so when its low or medium i literally cant see players over 80-90m they literally just disappear and pop out, thats a terrible implementation pls fix that (this started happening from a performance update in s3),

pike NEEDS to be nerfed, there is no reason for its hipfire to be THAT good and light is unplatyable because it kills you so fast, its firerate needs a nerf,

ranked is unplayable because i constantly get teammates that crash or cant connect, this is happening to a lot of people, its just a bad look embark cmon

I don't know much about netcode , but just focusing on your experiences. "...1 out of every 10 that works properly..." I believe S4 synergy will be a little clunkier than S3, because the original S1 Meta Defense, Support, Offense, is unrecognizable. 3 v 3 flights are proned to be more chaotic due to inability to reset on a bad push. Once pressure is applied and flight or fight mode is entered. If no tools are in place to encourage teamwork, isolation will ensue. Gadgets are typically used selfishly to get a kill or save your life. specialization are more than just tools for the player every specialization down to *L should be used to keep the squad alive & defend the Cash out. That means staying alive, not just getting a S.W.
Mesh & Heal beam were the only Defense specialization making both this weak really has made S4 play like a completely different game. I.M.O

At the moment, the pike does not have a “bad” range. It does great close up, medium range, and far range.

absolutely with you on this. Season 1 CL40 was in the perfect spot, people who used it had found a niche to master that was neither too weak or too strong, but then they nerfed it and people stopped using it. It feels like this over buff was about having people use it again rather than an actual balance attempt, but I don't see the reasoning behind it.

And about the people saying to adapt and play smart, get better positioning, etc, AS IF CL40 users don't know to take the high ground themselves, as if buildings do not start crumbling every 5 seconds, as if strong players would suddenly become less of a threat by using something that's not named AKM/FCAR.

Even Embark is monitoring it, stating "it might be overtuned"

guys matchmaking is broken on PC. I can only consistently get in without the TGE000000 error with crossplay off. For whatever reason, world tour would not get me into any lobbies this way, so I can only play quick play modes.

Fortune Stadium has a few buildings where they lead to you a fricken dead end and it's so stupid. Like there's this one room specifically that's just a bunch of small rooms and orange doors that end with a STONE WALL, wasting like 15 seconds of your time
Please get rid of these dead ends— it's just poor map design.

Embark. You have gold in your hand and your still giving high dmg explosive weapon in the hands of M and H while you prefer to nerf the only good weapons and L.
Force them to play with sword, dagger, kunai or shitgun with 150 HP just to get them ONE or TWO SHOTS by litteraly EVERY OTHER WEAPON CLASS.
JUST TRY FOR ONCE TO BUFF THEIR WEAPONS. JUST LET THE LIGHT A CHANCE TO WIN A 1V1 WITHOUT CLOATH OR STUN FFS.

Just look at the RANKED STAT. PLEASE. Their is, maybe, 1 or 2 light in the all squad. It's full of M and H for a reason and you don't want admit it. That's a shame. That why people don't want to play more on your game. Because it's unbalance. It can be fun to play light, but I want to play light and have a possibility to win ! It's gonna be a full year now and I never see a LIGHT META. And it's so unfair and sad

the fact that A LONGRANGE DMR has a faster time to kill AT EVERY RANGE than Mediums CLOSE AND MIDRANGE RIFLES is insane.

and we arent even gonna mention how it has the same/A FASTER time to kill than the LH1 WHICH IS LITERALLY A LIGHT WEAPON.

Pike currently makes AKM, FCAR and Famas completely obsolete because its better in every single stat and wins against them at every range every time, and on top it outperforms a literal light weapon.

Should make clothes categories or some sort of sub style system for cosmetics to reduce the amount of scrolling players have to do when looking at the cosmetics in their inventory; as in have all the same clothes type like tank tops be delegated to their own item, selecting said item would bring players to see all the tank tops they own or could own. Cause right now theres the Ospuze branded basic tank, the track & field top, Tank & arm warmers, bunny bash tank, skill issue tank, asymetical top, Engimo asymetical top, and the 3 no-brand basic tanks which are one of the main clothing types that would benifit the most from such a system.

    -- Make the ui Leader board collapsible (with member names)
    -- If watching one player: Open x teams collapse and show an eye-con next to it (indicating spectator watches x player)
    -- If hovering over one team: eye-con next to closed collapse (one team = follow mode)
    -- two or more: no eye (observe mode)
  • Animations
    -- add transition animations between players
    -- maybe even customisable
  • Auto Camera
    -- Add spectator camera options: "Auto", "Follow", "Observe"
    -- Follow: add vectors / waypoints at every doorway, window, arch (maybe even at the calculated median of for example a broken floor.) maybe with some (allowed distance so that the movement doesn't always seem that perfect/ in the exact median of x) The Follow mode will (internally) draw the movement path and calculate where the nearest waypoints are... following the player x at a distance with some smooth motion (Bézier or smth) as well as the camera facing x player also with smooth motion (Bézier or smth). TLDR: Add Waypoints everywhere to avoid clipping camera follows player on that path, camera faces player, all smooth
    -- Observe: add some predefined paths (mostly on top of buildings (ceilings), open areas and alleys. Switch between paths. when changing start from start of x path and decelerate (transition motion: at from: accelerate at target: decelerate) follow the path. reaching the end either restarts the path or switches to another one near that one
    -- Auto: Combination of Follow, Move and default (default when some player is aiming on somebody in close range fights) Auto targets the stuff scottie and june are talking about. Example: look at x destoying the buildings. Just before they say that switch to that player (may need to add new voicelines)
  • UI Transitions between modes and players
    -- Between players maybe a thefinals logo flyby transition

The Pike and Akimbos are broken for a very simple and very intentional reason:
They are the only thing done this entire season to attract people to play Medium and Heavy.
Remember, according to their post, Lights have the lowest win rates, and they enacted an essay's worth of patches to address that. But Lights are still played by far the most of the three classes, and the devs did nothing whatsoever to address this - other than give the two classes some cool, broken weapons and advertise the shit out of them, the Deagles specifically.

They'll get nerfed into unfun soon enough. It might just take a few for Embark to figure out what exactly is keeping people from choosing Medium and Heavy.

@indigo pagoda Lights are, undoubtedly, the most "solo" class in the game, but they are perfectly capable of playing in a team, it's just harder and takes out of the box thinking compared to the fairly self-explanatory teamwork of Mediums and Heavies.
The most obvious one is to take advantage of a Heavy's Mesh (rip) and a Medium's beam, combined with some evasive efforts, to counteract a Light's pitiful HP pool. Works damn great if you can just synergize.
We played with a Sniper once that worked great recon and did support-sniping for us from high-up, while pinging enemies for us to Melee while guarding a cashbox. Hard to even explain how he worked but it was an impressively helpful playstyle.
A fairly simple one to pull off is to send your Light out to sneak in through a window behind an opposing team while the other two distract the team. They might notice the Light's missing but they still have to defend no matter what, which usually gives the Light an opportunity to just shred at least one person in the back.

I mean there's a billion of 'em, just a few come to mind right now. I wouldn't be opposed to more team-oriented gadgets on Light (though Gateways are already super useful), but Lights are totally capable of teamplay, and sometimes indispensable.

Lights issue has nothing to do with teamplay. Light already has an insane amount of team utility.

The reason why light is bad is because almost all of lights survivability is dependent on the enemy making mistakes repeatedly while also taking very little effort on the users end. Which is why light frustrates casual players so much and eats shit in higher elo

Earlier this year we saw the switch away from exclusive bundle pricing to individual items now being made available for purchase. I think when balancing it's important to hit the mark. For the sake of argument let's say model is "OP" balancing something shouldn't mean breaking it out of meta. It would only do 120 if player got a headshot. Actually having to *Aim requires more skill/time than hip-fire weapons like grenade launcher, Melee, F.T., & akimbo all those high damage weapons can just be endlessly spammed & are arguably more user- friendly. For the most part weapons are doing great in 1 v 1 however in the finals 3 v 3 gameplay is customary, & rarely are you just worried about the 1 v 1 if for Honor thought me anything is gamer's have NONE, someone will always be right around the corner ready to gank a free kill. *L was the number 1 pick last season.
They aren't exactly known for being slow & calculated.

Forcing model users to aim in order to hit desired high TTK as before will take away A LOT of mobility on plays. The nerf would be averaging 100 DMG a shot when using model, & you wouldn't be able to 2 shot *M anymore without a Combo & only good aim will result in fast kill creating a skill & reward system all High damage weapons should have.
*L - can easily play mobility when using a shotgun thanks to specialization
*H - can bait with lack of mobility thanks to specialization
*M - should stay at range as well. No specialization encourges close combat.

All *M weapon shine at range compared to it's counter parts down to dual blades, the only exception being riot shield but a case can be made for even that weapon as it blocks damage at range better than the other melee weapons.
Automatics could use a small buff in mobility (Hipfire), shotguns should help *L & *H mobility, but *M shotgun should be the only one played at range, & giving *M headshots is fitting since it doesn't have Mobility, or Defense trade-offs specialization, but is the class expected to have the best accuracy.

A rework like this would take away mobility & reliability while still allowing the weapon to compete with meta.

Heavy ammo reserve is the only reason I would hesitate to give the class a headshot multiplier.

All melee's in this game need to just be converted into skins for quick melee or something. They are so unfun to play against it actively makes the game unenjoyable. There is not a single gun in this game that fires BULLETS that requires you to change your playstyle simply because a team decided to equip it. Sledgehammer is the only one that is remotely fair.

Mesh & Heal beam were without a doubt the best specialization for each class... that not only elevated player potential, but squad potential.
Cash Out without a strong support & defense presence screams T.A. What made The Finals unique was just how important it was to fight like you're in a F.F. , or Diablo game. Every tool you use from specialization to Gadgets they're supposed to help with 1, typically 2 Squad Wipes on a cash out. For 2 Minutes you're stuck in a random "ring" expected to fight for your life. Focusing just on 1 kill will always limit potential. It be like playing on a team that everyone wants to be the guy to score. If nobody gives teammates support, or plays defense, the entire team will suffer.
specialization elevated gun play to feel like you were fighting with *Combos. The new meta feels so individually focused, rather than team focused.

Embark had lighting in a bottle. I genuinely believe so many *L complained about dying on a pointless solo push Embark had to help the victims out from experiencing any further trauma instead of just expecting them to learn the limitations of each class. *L & High Elo being treated like a nepo baby is bad for overall balance & ruins overall gameplay

specialization are also the identity of every class... I don't believe any other specialization has received as many nerfs. However I believe all the Nerfs to Mesh, Dome, Heal B., & Defib were unnecessary. All only elevated gameplay and potential on the objective while punishing overly aggressive sloppy combat, & All could be countered by *L glitch grenade. An argument can be made for defibs, however, simply buffing glitch grenades to blow up on impact would have changed that. I.M.O & prevented all these nerfs...

  • keep distance from people who have charge n slam. plus you can run circles around the charge n slam to make them waste their charge. just because people are running it more because of the nerfs to the mesh shield specialization doesn't mean it's op.
  • CL-40 isn't op against medium or heavy, however, it needs damage falloff, and light needs a way to mitigate the damage done from it. give light a double jump like in tf2 instead of 3 dashes to mitigate splash damage consistently.
  • play distance for players using the shotgun. if they hide in buildings at the cash out destroy that building and take potshots at them. grapplers in fighting games are deadly when they are up close to you. (the new light shotgun does nearly the same damage numbers as the model 1877, except that weapon is now on a light player that can very easily close the distance for its effective range. if anything the new light shotgun should be nerfed in its clip size.)
  • I agree, the pike needs to have a defining role in what it does. if it's meant to play long-range to counter snipers then it should have reduced damage up close. if it's meant to be a battle rifle for a medium range like an AK, then it should reflect that.

6 v 6, 3 cashout stations,
1 vault spawns every 30 seconds, no matter what. Vaults start at $2,500 and increase by $250 for every vault. Rounds are 15 minutes, meaning the last vault, spawned right at the 15 minute mark (only useful if overtime starts) is worth $10,000 for a grand total of $193,750 dollars of vaults across 30 vaults. There is no bonus for opening a vault
Of the 3 cashout stations, each team has 1 permanent, color coded cashout station that they "own" (somewhat near their spawn) Only the owner team can cashout at the team-specific cashout station, but vaults will get no deposit bonus and take 50% longer to cash in.
The opposing team is not able to steal this cashout, but they are able to steal the vault inside. When successfully stolen, all the money in that team-specific cashout pops out as a vault and can be taken by the other team to their home base or to the third, central cashout.
The third cashout works like a standard cashout station, where vaults deposited inside earn a deposit bonus and take the regular amount of time to cash in. This cashout can be stolen by either team at any time. The timer on this cashout progresses normally and when done, cash is awarded and a new cashout will spawn somewhere else.

Vaults open very quickly, and can be combined with other vaults (maybe up to a limited value).
A team wins by having the most money by the end of the timer. Only cash put into the central cashout can cause overtime, and only one cashout worth of overtime can happen. team specific cashouts cannot cause overtime.

I wanna point this out and I am enjoying this season but I do want to point some things out.
The pike isn't broken but REALLY obnoxious. Can't go a game without running into at least 1, and it doesn't help that this thing's fire rate is pretty DAMN good. Making it the most annoying weapon to face off against. The firerate on this thing should be lowered.
The new Desert Eagles are cool. I think the body shot damage is mid and that is it. I will willingly sacrifice firerate or headshot damage just for better bodyshot damage.
CL40 is just, disgusting, I think you went overkill with the damage buff. At least compensate it with increased self damage.
The mesh shield changes are horrible. I don't mind the reduced health but the cooldown before reopening it? god that's just garbage. Made it mid and heavy is indeed the most overnerfed class in the game.
And please just give the MGL better velocity and less bounce for the love of god, this thing would be better if you could kill people before they actually run up to you leaving you in a bad situation. I beg of you for this simple MGL buff.

My I make a request that in ranked, if a teammate leaves, the remaining players on that team don't demote or go down. Similarly of a teammate disconnects and doent join before the round, the remaining players again also don't demote or go down. I was just playing a ranked game and a teammate didn't join leaving me and my teammate to consistently get wiped my teams of 3.

Defib needs a rework, badly. medium teams tend to dive bomb towards their teammates' trophies to continuously revive the chain at times. the previous Nerf was effective for players who had mines, sledgehammers, and defenses against the reviving player.
now with sledgehammer players not having enough range to close the deal in fights for them to be viable in competitive, and player-made defenses slowly being nerfed to the ground, it tends to be a benefit for players that revive their teammate in an active warzone (it's like the gunslinger for the engineer in tf2.)
to fix that problem. just make the people getting defibed take damage when they are spawning in. It would encourage players to think wisely about how to revive their teammates. also healing beam wasn't broken when used by only one teammate, it was broken when there was 2-3 mediums using that specialization to begin with. they just needed to nerf the aspect of two healing beams being able to stack on a player and reduce the amount of health distributed when chaining.

I think a big issue that plagues many users is the performance. While I personally have the luxury of playing on the playable framerate of 100-150, many do not. I have a laptop with a rtx 4080, an i9 13900HX and 32GBs of DDR5 5600MHz RAM. That's very high spec atm, even if you factor in that it's desktop counterpart packs a lot more punch. The point of this message is not to try to act cool with my bad money spending habits, I'd like to remind the devs that performance is a real issue for a lot of players. Not many people play on very expensive gear and I wholeheartedly believe that performance is one of the big reasons many people have left over the seasons. I want this game to succeed as much as the devs do, but I urge them to make performance improvements a bigger priority. It's not fun when you feel like you are holding your team back because your rig is not powerful enough. Some people will see this and think everyone who complains about performance just needs to git gud, and gitting gud is vital, but those players are likely in a similar boat as me: playing on a rig that can push a nice amount of frames every second. I understand where that thought is coming from, but you should try to play on a rig that has can push a max of 60 frames with dips in fps every time there is a lot of destruction (capping the fps at 50 is not entirely the same as playing on a rig that averages 50, but that might also make you understand what some people have to go through). Most likely you're not gonna have a lot of fun.

CL40 is easy to use but it' s definitely NOT a "OP" weapon in this game.
Learn how to against CL40 and learn how to counter every different weapon it is all noob need to do because CL40 is definitely a noob killer.
You can stand high to easy against it, you can quick put APS and fight with them with no risk, you can just jump to he's face and make DPS check.
Use you dash dodge, use shield block, have range weapon make more distance to shoot them, keep move and shoot to take less explosive damage.
This weapon has high TTK and need to predict, can't fight the people stand high and can't shoot someone jumping into sky easily.
That have a lot of disadvantage to counter, if you don't just peek them and against continuously in the same way, it would not a big problem in this game, I'm sure.
The most easily vertical combat can easily make CL40 weaker them most of weapon.
If a weapon only can do one easy thing. that one need to be powerful. That is great balance need to do.
PLEASE, Embark don't just trust those noob saying and ruin this game again and again.
I'm tired to only play AR or shotgun or LMG in high rank, there are so many different and featural weapon, but only 10 weapon playable in this game.

Just played my first ranked placement match with a light teammate who went 0 0 0 and 8 🤦‍♂️ ending the match I see they have a total of 17 eliminations on their account… I don’t see why in any way shape or form anyone with under at least 200 eliminations should even be entering ranked when all it does is fuck up the placement of more competitive players like myself

For example, If I play riot shield in finals round, their heavy can fight lose when we first meet and choose slam and flamethrower to easily counter me and win the most important fight and get cash.
In your example, If you predict in your match will meet a lot of CL40 and you want to play shotgun, maybe M1887, you can take APS quick put it and have no risk fight or take jumppad or zipline jump to sky and make it difficult to hit or take dematerializer to make surprise, or you can just choose to fight with his teammate.

a lot of great weapon it's playstyle can make disadvantage more less but, a lot of weapons like melee or CL40 or MGL54 or flamethrower they can't. they only have 1 or 2 advantage but a lot of disadvantage can't be deal with.

It demands skill to actually 2 tap light and it doesn't act like close range no aim shotgun at this moment. also doing a decent damage to heavy and medium when you aim well. Without reverting Linear explosive patch and only changing damage, this gun will be just no aim no skill shotgun OR pile of garbage, not solving any actual problem. The nerf on dropping 2 explosive mines back to back seems to does not make sense with the above dev note. In most of the nerfs seen for s4, I have noticed that either the quantity of item/ammo has been decreased and corresponding damage has been increased or more quantity and less damage. (There are certain exceptions as being discussed by others)

  • you need to invest in a gadget for only one particular class to counter an ability. (it is the same argument used with dome shields and glitch grenades before shields got nerfed.)
  • dash can be predicted and can easily be countered for users with the cl40, change the light to have a double jump/ more erratic movement to mitigate damage and now we are on the same level. otherwise, it's a two-shot weapon that benefits from predictable dash movement.
  • mesh shields have a cooldown timer for reopening the shield, dome shield lasts for 6 seconds and makes the user operate in an area of influence. both weaknesses are not a problem for a cl40 user
  • automatic weapons can't move and shoot at the same time (too slow movement while firing.) Weapons that are semi-auto work well, but long-range weapons can't fully counter a CL40 user because they also have range with their shots. short-range weapons have to rush the cl40 user down to avoid damage and work in their area of influence, something that can be countered by barricading while running or running away and shooting.
  • you can shoot while running with the cl40 much like the model 1877.
  • cl40 can't reach players when there is a height advantage, however, the jump pad and zipline exist to cover up that fact.
  • splash damage isn't hard to predict, especially when the explosives are triggered by contact on the surface. its when you land direct hits it would become hard to hit.
  • you can destroy ziplines and mines easily. This can be used to trigger gas mines and explosive mines for more damage.
  • splash damage works really well for players that bundle up together.
    the damage is perfect the way it is, but it needs damage falloff for long-range fights, the dash needs to be reworked to mitigate the damage done to light properly. other than that it would be fair for everyone involved. labeling it as a noob killer is a stretch at best because of how much utility it has while being good in nearly every range except melee.

so here's what i'm gathering:

negatives:

  • to fix third partying, you made changes that made third partying undeniably worse
  • you added an LH1 to a medium which while not as severe, has the same problems the LH1 had (incorrect balancing of fire rate and damage)
  • you changed absolutely nothing about the model, even though its firerate has consistently been a problem
  • M26 is just a model (because we needed more shotguns on light)
  • spawns still suck and are actually worse now
  • the game feels like it hasnt been QA 'd or tested at all
  • scopes are either the xp scope or a shaky, uncontrollable red dot
  • CL40 galore, every corner there's going to be some grenade launcher spamming that shit. that range is so large.
  • spear is more powerful in literally only powershift
  • the people i queue as teamates are dogshit, and can't keep up
  • im getting diamonds as a gold/plat, but i dont have the overall team skill to fight them, and even then its just RNG because they're not even defending their own cashout

positives:

  • we got cashout back
  • explosive and glitch mines only have 1 (subjective)
  • 93R got a buff
  • we got a "new" map
  • XP got a nerf (subjective)

good job embark. you really know how to make a gamemode miserable. and worst of all, you left us to just test the changes, and "thug it out" until we scream at you to fix it 3 weeks later. you won't even give us a public beta environment PBE, and i doubt you even considered it.

letting people test these changes in a test environment so that it doesnt hurt everybody once released? nope! let's push these changes to production, and hope it sticks!

Revert the CL-40 changes, this shit is just way too easy to use for how effective it is, did not need these changes at all. Its annoying enough to play vs explo weapons without them out TTK'ing you. The damage and blast radius is just insane right now, every lobby gets like 5-6 CL-40's and lobby is cooked. Its already mechanically really strong because you basically get shotgun movement, and you can just pop in to cover between shots.

You guys REALLY missed the mark on this, hope you can change this within a couple of days and not wait for people to quit the game first this time. Weapons like this should NEVER rival guns requiring aim and tracking to be effective.

Yes, I agree. The XP was better (and still is, tbh) than the AK in basically every way. That's because it's only accessible on light, who has 150 HP. Light NEEDS their guns to be better than every other class because they die so fast. It's the same reason that AKM, FAMAS, and FCAR all have faster ttks and better recoil and are better at range than the heavy's Lewis or M60. Heavy has more HP, so they need to have worse guns or there wouldn't be a reason to play any other class.

I understand where the sentiment of "XP is too strong" comes from, because it was the only gun being used by lights in competitive situations. However, that wasn't because XP was too good, it was because all their other tools were either too weak or too niche.

i have no idea if embark/the finals developers even pay attention to this channel, but i think there seriously needs to be more updates and patches targeted toward poor performance.
it seems like everywhere i look (i.e. the steam forums, subreddit etc.) there are people complaining about issues with performance both in general and on specific maps/situations. this tends to be the case (from my experience) regardless of the specs of peoples' systems.

idk i think there really needs to be an optimization-focused update. this game is one of the worst performing games i own despite not being nearly as graphically demanding as other games i own and it's incredibly weird.

I don't use the XP because it's too generic and easy to use compared to everything else, I used to main the LH1 before they ruined it by lowering the skill ceiling, while also nerfing it. the XP should not be able to snipe people from further ranges than the AK as effectively let alone better than.

This engagement's potential is virtually limitless and invaluable for the game's longevity and community. It can be further sustained by giving the creator(s) a chance to be awarded through a variety of ways, in combination or merely by themselves:

(b) in-game or IRL payment,

people really overstate how impressive tracking is. the "tracking-heavy" guns are some of the easiest guns in the game- less punishing and they work in any situation. Landing a CL-40 nade on someone in midair or against someone at range/with highground is way more impressive then lasering them with the m60 or w/e IMO. the idea that weapons like that and the AK inherently deserve to be stronger because they "require tracking" (with very light recoil and a huge mag) is strange to me. I'll say that they could reign in CL's splash a little and that'd probably be fine but it was in a genuinely non-functional state in S3 and that's a shame, because it's a very fun weapon to use

I've been using the CL-40 as my main and the AKM as my sub since Season 1,

Even though the damage has been increased this season, I've "hardly used" the CL-40

Even though I say that, there are still people who think the CL-40 is a really strong weapon.

It has many drawbacks, such as the bullet speed slowing down, making it difficult to hit at long distances, and the fact that it can be avoided even after seeing it,

but the biggest drawback is that it only has four bullets loaded, and you reload one at a time instead of all at once.

In other words, if the enemy wastes a bullet and you fire all four, you'll end up in a dire situation where you have to reload one and fire again.

It's stupider to not waste one or two bullets out of the four bullets.

The worst thinking about balance is " The weapon is easy to use need to be more more weak than high skill weapon. "
CL40 is easy to use but it' s definitely NOT a "OP" weapon in this game.
Learn how to against CL40 and learn how to counter every different weapon it is all noob need to do because CL40 is definitely a noob killer.
You can stand high to easy against it, you can quick put APS and fight with them with no risk, you can just jump to he's face and make DPS check.
Use you dash dodge, use shield block, have range weapon make more distance to shoot them, keep move and shoot to take less explosive damage.
This weapon has high TTK and need to predict, can't fight the people stand high and can't shoot someone jumping into sky easily.
That have a lot of disadvantage to counter, if you don't just peek them and against continuously in the same way, it would not a big problem in this game, I'm sure.
The most easily vertical combat can easily make CL40 weaker them most of weapon.
If a weapon only can do one easy thing. that one need to be powerful. That is great balance need to do.
PLEASE, Embark don't just trust those noob saying and ruin this game again and again.
I'm tired to only play AR or shotgun or LMG in high rank, there are so many different and featural weapon, but only 10 weapon playable in this game.
FMAS is strong a lot of time and nobody mention, that is weird. Maybe that say it's skill issue, but aim skill can be practice but weapon damage don't.
Skill let you can do more thing and win more games, but it's shouldn't dominate the weapon strong or not.
I'm a sword play since S1, but choose meta weapon still more and more easier to win or kill or do something in every game.

I honestly like the season rn and I feel like the meta is finally shaken up a bit. Compared to season 3, new play styles are more encouraged. The new map is amazing and fun.
I kind of miss the old circuits though.

My only issue is how dealing with some classes is pure cancer, especially lights. Lights have created a more rock paper scissors interaction between classes and not with skill. Light is definitely not the best class if it comes to winning games, but it's just so annoying to fight against them. Also I think it's just too stressful and annoying to play as a light as well. I think lights need more survivability than just focusing so much on kill speed. Nobody likes to be instantly killed(for both lights and others), and no one likes to fight against a sword dash that swipes your health as they teleport behind you.
And I know some people will disagree to this, but this is not a matter of how fair it is, it's about how fun it is. Fun > Fair.

The secondary now is almost useless with spinning in one places and others shoot u.

This CL "Noob Tube" buff is insane its actually the easiest weapon too use in the game how the fuck are you gonna say the time to kill is the same since when is everyone full health in every fight, if you are even remotely chipped the ttk is down by a shot its so damn stupid.. Also since when was the M11 a sniper? that DPS is insane. its crazy how you keep buffing Light like it isnt the strongest class and then nerfing the fuck out of heavy and absolutely gutting the mesh shield (one of if not the easiest ability to counter in the game)

I rocked the cl40 back in beta, lights are a joke when they try to go against that weapon even back in season 3. no matter if it's dash, cloak, or zipline. the trick is to shoot them after they dashed, not before.
lights have 150 health which is easy to scare off of aiming at you with long-ranged with 2-3 shots. lights before pike, had all the long-ranged weapons.
its not about speed that can make people not hit someone, it's about predictability. dash is predictable because of them going at a fixed rate in a straight line. granted you have multiple options of going in that straight line but it's still a line. it also doesn't help that they don't have a height advantage whenever they fight on level playing ground, making it easy for splash damage.
to put things into perspective. imagine if the scout in Team Fortress 2 didn't have a double jump. soldiers would make that class completely useless in 1v1 fights because of how predictable they would have made that class. the double jump helps force soldiers to aim for body shots to kill the scout quickly. This helps make Scout be this slippery little rabbit that he is supposed to be.
again cl40 is balanced for medium and heavy. but its range is not needed long range to fight off snipers, and it's too punishing for lights trying to fight on your terms. I ain't complaining about the gun, but there are reasons why your weapon is hard to counter at times. also for the dome shield you can just reposition yourself away from it or run away if they are trying to push you. blocking line of sight is not a good strategy at all for the other players since it's still not a guarantee. I mained melee heavy casually, and positioning is punishing against classes that are faster than heavy since the ball is in their court. even if they used ranged guns with a mesh shield, you can just play around the shield, popping in and out and using the burst damage that the cl40 has to gain the upper hand. kind of like the model 1877.

Please buff the revolver, why does it even exist now? I'm missing 3 shots on a target that is standing still after they mess up charge and slam or some bug happened and they gave up. It's fun to use, but I really don't understand the philosophy around it's current existence and why it doesn't have better bloom, a quicker reload or something. (I also know I could probably muscle memory some of the location of those shots by pulling harder to the side to account for bloom, but I'm only a few games back after a break)

You have a good point, Embark seems to have easily quadrupled AOE when simply doubling it would have sufficed.
Perhaps being able to do single, & double doors will work best.
I also noticed closing all doors can be difficult in 1 charge.
Ideally you should be able to open original single and new double doors. However, if you want to open a larger AOE you should be expected to take a few steps back for functionality.
When on the run the last thing you need is to open a door you can't close.

If you do that, you'll be beaten to death by an enemy melee weapon user before you can kill the enemy.
If you're not a melee weapon user, you should carry goo grenades.
The goo gets in the way, so the CL-40 user wastes bullets, and the risk of taking unnecessary self-damage increases.
The enemy makes good use of the goo mass and moves around, firing bullets at the CL-40 user, so the CL-40 user is in a tight spot.
There are also many other things that CL-40 users don't like when they get beaten by the enemy, if you use the CL-40 for a long time.
That's why I don't use it much even though the damage has increased.
When I use it for reasons other than "I'll use it once in a while," it's often because I'm desperate.
I don't care if the enemy, allies, or myself die.
When I simply want damage or kills, I use model.

(b) in-game or IRL payment,
(c) but most importantly a free (perhaps personalised) version of the very same item that will be immortalised in the world of TF.

CL40 is buffed too much. It simple makes it way too big of a splash weapon that is closer to a 4 count mini RPG rather than an evenly matched alternative to bullet based weapons. I'm not sure what the intent of the massive buff in damage, aoe size, center size was but it went too far on the opposite side of where CL40 was. CL40 was weak, but good in the hands of good players. Now it's just a a spam frag weapon that has way too big a range

Make free Community Event/LTM event rewards avaliable again for multibucks after they've been gone for a while. They're not part of the battle pass nor do they cost money/multibucks so I don't see the problem. Would be a great opportunity for Embark to make money/remove some of the FOMO aspect from the game.

The gameplay was very questionable. The lobby has reported you and your teammate for cheating. Just FYI.

While 12 kills and 0 dealth is possible in Powershift (I landed like 18 one day but with LH1 standing far) but not for 2 people while 1 with Matter.

The Finals should not have new maps in ranked rotation for the first week or two of them being released. Every other competitive shooter keeps them out of rotation for a period after they are released. Also, why do we have uneven weights on what map is chosen in ranked queue? It should not be 80% new map and 20% other.

Also, if there is a major game breaking bug like this sword teleporting issue it shouldn't be allowed to be used! Either hotfix it immediately or disable it until it is patched, at the very least in ranked.

This game has so much potential and I won't stop playing but these are heavy friction points that other games do so well already and seem like basics when it comes to a competitive shooter. Please embark for the love of ospuze I know you can do better.

Idk why the finals is so bad at telling you who’s on what. Just because I played PC Finals one time anytime I play with a PC player it says I’m on steam. But if someone played the finals once on their ps5 it shows them as a ps5 player on my side of things. It then becomes very hard to tell if someone is cheating in the first place because I can’t tell if they’re on PC or actually a console player. Embark plz fix the way ppl ID’s work

Please add a symbol to steam icons if they are using controller that way i can try to keep a moderate distance from their aimbot power.

Also, the sword is broken, you cant even fight them up close because they literally teleport everywhere. It looks like absolute garbage for a 2024 game.

You gave every noob here a CL40 buff so they could participate and get kills, but that shouldnt negate someone who can actually aim, strafe, use cover, etc.

Im fine with the damage, but at least control the damage radius a bit where you have to moderately aim.

The fact its only like a 15% damage deduction if they shoot 10 meters away is insane. This way you actually have to PREDICT movement and AIM a bit. This is what should be expected in fps games.

Here something I wanna point. It's about HP regen in this game. From different class's point of view.
I use Heavy regen in the 1st table and just make it proportional to the medium and light. Same in the 2 table with the Medium POV. Light POV in the third.

Everytime, Heavy should have longer time to regen and Light should have shorter time to regen

But, you will still two shot a Light if he can't regen anyway. So My point is, again, the gap between Heavy HP and Light HP is to important. **
If Light can have 200HP (2nd screenshot), you will still two shot them with a CL40 for example BUT he could survive a bit more. And I promise, even with 200HP the result in this Excel will be the same
except from a Medium POV,** where the regen will be 7.2s instead of 7s for the Light.

So please Embark, do something for the Light class. You know they are not meta, under use and under power compare to the two other because of their lifespan. Maybe to give more HP is not the solution. Maybe it is. All I wanna say is, you can't properly balance a game with some much gap between HP class. Think about it.

EDIT : In the 2nd screenshot, Medium should have SHORTER time to regen from the LIGHT POV if they have 200HP instead of 150

Also as others have pointed out, new medium and heavy weps are kinda over powered feeling, and the nerf to xp54 on light has made dealing with heavy's really annoying. Also why buff sword, sword was already great, didn't need a buff. ya'll did some weird stuff with balance this season :S. Medium GL is also pretty annoying now, nothin feels better(sarcasm) then having multiple enemies spam you with a low skill explosive weapon 😦 (And while we are at it, I guess, can ya'll do something about people who are blatantly using macros to fire the V9S as a fully automatic weapon, maybe make it a toggle in settings if you don't mind people doing that, or ban for it if ya do mind). Also both myself and my friend can't get shadowplay to consistently record, what the hell is going on there, every other game records flawlessly, just this one, and sometimes it seems fine, then randomly starts to lag, and sometimes crashes, or doesn't record at all. It's literally only this game we have problems with, and every other recording software we have tried sucks

CL-40 at start of the S3(Pink one) is best imo. It demands skill to actually 2 tap light and it doesn't act like close range no aim shotgun at this moment. also doing a decent damage to heavy and medium when you aim well. Without reverting Linear explosive patch and only changing damage, this gun will be just no aim no skill shotgun or pile of garbage, not solving any actual problem. JUST REVERT LINEAR EXPLOSIVE PATCH OR AT LEAST MAKE IT LIKE S3 STARTUP NEAR IMPACT AND LINEAR EXPLOSIVE AT THE END.

Please remember that despite everyone complaining about nerfs/buffs, it's okay to lower the skill floor on some weapons/abilities, even if you're not touching the skill ceiling. This includes e.g. making spray patterns easier, making x2 headshot damage weapons do x1.5 and adding some damage to compensate, and keeping low skill floor weapons like Sword relevant (even if not meta). Between all the players taking Adderall and every gamemode but Power Shift giving a sub-50% chance of winning (just by the nature of there being 3 or 4 teams), it can be hard to just enjoy playing the game as a newcomer or returner that doesn't hit every bullet.

@echo radish CL-40 has a low skill floor but is completely outclassed by Medium's hitscan options at higher skill levels, including the shotgun. Maybe you can argue for hightening the skill floor a little, but don't touch the damage. It's not as easy to hit as it looks, especially when people know how to juke or jump properly. It was absolutely worthless in S3.

you need to massively increase leaving penalties for ranked and unranked modes. the fact people can bail out of matches with little to no penalty is completely insane and its ruining the game
if you close the game to leave a match and then re open it if the match is still going it should skip the menu and load back into the match. there should literally be NO OPTION to leave the match. if someone manages to disconnect without reconnecting they should be banned from matchmaking from entire weeks at a time. ive had 5 fucking matches in a row where more than two of my teammates leave and its making the game actually fucking unplayable

if they detect you going inactive more than once automatically ban you for a week

Embark - I think this patch is overall one of the best you have done minus one thing. The CL40 is absoultely rediculous now especially since you nerf everything to deal with it. go up agaisnt tripple M tripple turret all with CL-40 and is worse than when nukes were in the game. Something needs to happen here as its absolutley out of control and is only going to get worse because more and more people will run it because of the overpowered nature. you nerf RPG, nerf mesh shield - APS is useless now especially if its any more than a 1v1 because it is gone with literally 1 volley from more than 1 player and to put icing on the cake the CL-40 happens to be the best shotgun in the game because you dont even need to hit your target and even if they are literally inside you, you take no damage for spamming it at your feet - feel like the jump height is enough to make you take no damage if you shoot it directly down ffs - please never listen to anyone who says the CL-40 needs a buff ever again. Rework the gun so its not impact or tune down the damage radius + add self damage back into the weapon please. RPG takes double damage at close range but this thing gets nothing and its like going up against an infitite RPG minus it dropping you through floors.

I would love to see a slight rework on how Barricades work! Overall I think they’re great, but the placement requirements often make them hard to use in a pinch.

Would love it if a full barricade couldn’t fit into a space if only as many panels as needed spawned in or something similar. If the barricade was more able to fit itself into spaces rather than needing a fully cleared area I think it would be very beneficial!

the cl-40 CAN NOT be meta. it is fundamentally not good for the game that a weapon with all its destruction and chaos to have that much damage. it ruins the experience overall of the game when you can just turn off your brain, run around spamming a grenade launcher with no reprocaution and no counter play for most other players.
it should’ve been kept on the same level as the riot shield as it was. the splash damage change is so bad. please dont go down the road of overwatch: dumbing down the game. certain weapons need to have a higher skill ceiling, it creates diversity and seperate the good players from the bad ones. not every weapon has to be on the same level. prime example of this is the dedicated player base of the riot shield and dagger. you guys did it with the akm and the scar, those 2 weapons are as good as it comes, decent damage, a good recoil spread thats not hard nor easy to control.

the model is also fundamentally broken. a shotgun shouldnt deal that much damage at medium range. the spread needs to be adjusted to be wider.

the pike hipfire deals a little too much damage. a dmr that is that versatile in a class that is already doing so much doesnt feel right.

the xp54 sight adjustment feels terrible to use. the damage nerf is a bit harsh, personally i think 16 was the sweetspot, 18 was too much, 14 is a bit too little. 15 is also a sweet spot that i’d like to see for its damage, it encourages more aiming intensity, which raises the skill floor slightly, and ttk is also very fair.

the matter shotgun for light feels a bit out of place in the current meta, but it’s also a very fresh feeling weapon, not terrible by any mean.

the .50 akimbo is overall solid.

Dear Embark,

Thank you for a lovely Season 4! Been playing a ton of matches and wanted to share my thoughts.

New Guns feel great, though I think the Pike needs to be toned down since it feels a lot like the LH1 during CB2. I often get spammed out and killed in 3 shots as a light (which I guess is ok considering it's a Marksman Rifle) but the RoF or the Ammo needs to be Adjusted. Hipfire spread might also need another Passover since it's Ridiculously Tight.

CL40 is literally the bane of ranked and I genuinely feel cheated out of a few of my Matches by the absolutely disgusting Triple Med Meta. While I do believe the CL40 is in need of a nerf (as does most of the community), I personally think the Med as a whole needs to be addressed at some point due to it's overwhelmingly large pick rate and Nuisance with strategies like Triple Defib and Triple Heal Beam aka "Ouroboros". Killing 3 people 2 times over is a bit over the top. I feel like it should be at least observed in both competitive and casual play a little bit closer.

Lastly, I have a Minor Request since I love the Bow to Death. Add a Drawback Cancel with Reload Key Press, Please!

less hard changes: bring back cb1 slide (omnidirectional slide, no slide fatigue, slide accelerated your velocity), lower medium movement gadget cooldowns, speed up climbing/mantle animations by 1.1x, remove jumpsquat (the part where your character squats downward before lifting off into the air), make more movement client side, make jump carry momentum instead of slowly decelerate you after chaining it a few times. Lower dome shield cooldown by like 10-13%. Remove mesh shield usage cooldown (500 hp is enough of a nerf). Remove the weird ice physics the game has. More air braking and air strafe. In general things need to feel more snappy. Make guns and gadgets' design more oriented around archetypes, they need to fill roles differently (AKM and FCAR moment) that feel like they add something to the game while still complementing the sandbox element of the game. Remove the mine/c4/breach charge damage reduction when the explosive is unarmed, it removed some cool stuff like pocket sand tech and the cl40 mine stuff. Increase gravitational accel a tad. Make the flamethrower do more burn DoT than regular fire DoT. XP-54 range nerf, but make reload speed better. Increase head hurtbox bc hurtbox shifting makes it impossible to consistently hit heads. Make ost selectable, maybe make it an unlockable. GIVE LIGHT MORE UTILITY. balance the amount of gadgets and weapons across classes by adding actually interesting stuff to the game that has an impact on gameplay by a noticible amount.

more "reaching" changes: add a dive. maybe add some more on demand y axis burst movement potential by making the dive acessible in air up until the player has fallen x amount of meters (can dive in air up until 25% of the way down from the peak of the jump to the floor). Rework recoil system so instead of continously pulling the mouse up, it peaks and bobs at the top, making the recoil still hard to control without the cancerous constant pulling down.

Hello there, I don't usually send feedbacks to game editors but I like this game and** I take no pleasure with this new season 4**. Here are my feedbacks :

  • MEDIUM : like many pointed it out CL-40 is a nightmare, enemy using it in close range doesn't get hurt, there are explosions everywhere, i even tried to play with APS turret (it get destroyed in 2-3 shots)
  • MEDIUM : why dematerializer requires 1 stack to open a floor but 3 to close it
  • HEAVY : new akimbos sounds looks terrible for me (plastic weapon)
  • HEAVY : why put a delay on shield specialization after activating / deactivating it ?
  • LIGHT : SR-84's DPS is now too slow
  • RANKED : where did 5v5 went ? It was much more fun and tactical to play than this old 3v3v3v3. And what was the point to grow in 5v5 elo to remove it after ? Please bring back 5v5 ranked
  • RANKED : why are we losing ranked points when we are only 2 in the team (missing one random teamate)
  • RANKED : sometimes too much difference with opponents elo
  • RANKED : since season 3 it looks like you put an algorythm win/loose similar to League of Legends, that is really annoying
  • AFK : less visible in this new season but too much afk players in previous seasons do you plan for penalities ?
  • NEW MAP : there are too much dead-end road or need
  • SINCE BEGINING OF THE GAME : Why do we spawn sometimes 200m away from points ? espacially when it's the end of the round and it can be our only chance to reach next phase if we get the point. Also why in final phase the point isn't centered (already spawn from 180m of the point, enemy arrived on it when we were at 80m) ?
  • SERVER : I think that the netcode should be optimized (i have a good connection) i died multiple times after i went behind a wall

My 2 Cents for now..

The medium Grenadelauncher feels way too strong. It's really oppressive. You should atleast the remove the 0.65x dmg multiplier and set it back to 1,00x.

It doesn't make any sense that you would nerf the rocket launcher to the ground while it still has the higher dmg multiplier for the heavy when the Medium gets a 4x Grenadelauncher with explodes on impact (it's the RPG without the destruction) but better. The RPG seriously needs some adjustion. If you want it as a tool to destroy or change the enviroment thats fine. But you have to lower the cooldown of the rpg then and/or increase the amount of enviromental damage that it deals.

The Double Deagle probably needs a slight nerf. maybe also a small reduction of the headshot dmg multiplier. 1,7x instead of 2x

The Pike needs a serious nerf.. Either a stronger recoil, a damage nerf or a nerf of the firing rate.

Please add some harder penalties for ranked quitters and afkers. It's really annoying and discouraging. It also sucks that we still loose the normal amount of points when we're fighting a 2vs3vs3vs3....

reduce it to zero lost points or to 1/3. People shouldn't be punished for teammates which they can't choose and randomly get matched with.

The AKM nerf feels okay. The reduction from 36 shots to 32 feels managable. People simply get punished of sooner for missing their shots and thats okay. You still deal more than 600 damage or so per magazine and thats still enough to kill a heavy and a medium with a single magazine.

The Famas feels really nice and appears to be in a good spot. The scope makes it much more playable and you still get easily punished for missing your shots.

The Heavy M60 feels somewhat weak. The RedDot is the MVP but the damage is abysmal. I can unload 40 shots into an enemie and he still keeps running. not sure how that can be considered as "ok". It needs a slight buff.

  1. Fix a new RPG bug that makes it that the hit registers twice. I got one shot by the RPG once and on the kill dmg details it listed 2 rpg hits by the same dude
  2. We wanted demat depth (which is here now, thanks) but not width. It's a huge drawback to open such a wide hole and it takes 3 charges to close 1 hole, it's very much not practical
  3. Speed up the dagger wind up, it's too slow
  4. Not being able to run while holding A KNIFE is crazy
  5. Revert the dash cooldown nerf please, us daggers and sword enjoyers are too nerfed imo
  6. Fix a season 3 bug that makes it that when a hole is made through the floor, visually the hole is created and you can see people doing their life underneath BUT you can't shoot through it, nor pass through it, nor send any grenades through it. Me I used a breach charge and this happened but in another match someone used a canister and it gave the same result

Sweating my a** off with AK just for some unskilled guy to stand on top of the building half game and headshot me with 2 hits, died like 5 times to him. Made it to final round somehow, just to have 3 M healing pikes. WE GOT OBLITERATED. 3 hits and you're dead if you play M. This gun just killed all fun for me for season 4. Thanks a lot embark, and thanks a lot braindead players who play it. I never play OP weapons because sake of the game and for my own sanity. It is just toxic to do it. Whoever is reading this and plays pike, you're probably horrendeous player and i wish you all the worst in the finals. You're exact reason why is finals losing player base. Embark, i am tired of this 1 hit KO weapons.
Playing since beta and man Embark you're doing same all over again with 1 Hit KO weapons. Gets out, nerfs, then they buff or replace it with some other weapon. And all in a circle. Losing my patience.
Just to add, i am always around emerald/platinum 1,2 since season 1, playing couple hours every day. Sometimes i wish to come home from work and have a good time, but with season 4 that is not possible anymore.

Overall a pretty good Season, map is awesome as well as sponsorships, BP, performance and especially weapon sights(I played about 50h of S4)

Cons:
-horrible balancing, especially CL40 kinda destroys the game, while many weapons are unusable like SH, XP or M60
-new weapons are again a huge disappointment but deagles(ppl are kinda sick of niche weapons every season, give us some full auto ones, that are played by at least 80% of ppl regularly I would say)
-SoloQ is still kinda frustrating cuz of an absurd amount of Afk and toxic mates, reputation and honor system are needed as well as a ranked solo Playlist like in ANY other game. Especially racism and sexism is a huge problem in this community as I recognize ingame not in this server, I can't understand how this is tolerated by the Report System
-no advertisements for Engimo and Isuelt which make them less popular overall, I just picked Isuelt for rewards, not cuz I like the sponsor, Holtow feels the most like a real sponsor that offers sth

Hi! Been playing since closed beta. Passed 400 hours in the game, was Diamond 2 in Season 2.
I feel like I have a fair amount of gametime and knowledge to let my opinion be known.

I will keep it short. The new DMR (Pike) for medium is ruining the game.
On long distance, it kills me as a heavy in like 1.5 - 2.0 seconds.
On short distances, it beats me emptying a Lewis gun on a medium.

There is literally no fun in trying to play at the moment. All I meet is people playing with the Pike and CL40.
It's not because they are fun to play with, but because they are easy to get kills with, and win you games.

CL40 also needs a nerf, like the close up self damage.

But the pike, there needs to be huge changes to this, or me and my friend group will try something else to play.

Pros for this season start:

  • Game feels a lot smoother now with shield and healing beam specialization nerfed
  • The scopes are a wonderful addon so that e.g. Famas is back in the game again
  • New weapons are looking really cool and feel relatively good to use
    Cons for this season start:
  • Some weapons "laser" people to death now.. Headshots with Akimbo or Pike in general for example. ( HS Multiplier for akimbo should be a bit lower, Pike needs a lot more spreading in close combat. Its meant for mid and long range and its being used for close combat fights. Hipfire should not be predictable while moving. )
  • CL40 has its dmg buffed which was the correct way to get it back into the game but theres no risk to the reward. Self Damage should be a lot higher. Shooting at your own feet is not what this weapons playstyle should be.
  • Flamethrower and Heavy GL seem totally out of place this season. Please rework them.
  • Defib Chains are still a thing.. If you are being revived with defib you should have cooldown on your own defib ( 10-15 seconds ), this would shake up the MMM playstyle a lot

Day 1/100: Change matchmaking for solo players.

I'm very pleased with all the changes you've brought this season, thank you!

However, the matchmaking has been broken since Season 2. In Season 3, I didn't play much ranked because it was TA, and I detest that game mode. I thought that during that season, meaning Season 3, you were working on the matchmaking to have something decent for Season 4, but I see that this issue continues from Season 2.

My matchups make no sense, neither in terms of rank nor in terms of the dedication to the game, which is evident when I compare my number of kills and revives with those of my teammates. And when I look at the other teams, they are with the people who should be matched with me, but instead, I'm playing against them.

I'm saying all this from the perspective of someone who plays solo, without a team. When can we expect improvements in matchmaking for solo players? Seriously, we've been like this since Season 2, it's very frustrating.

Note: I've even had people on my team who said in chat that they were playing ranked for "fun" in the sense of playing "quick play." This is a bad joke.

Imo, they should convert the Flamethrower into a mid-range weapon. So, hear me out, right: Massively tighten the AoE, increase the range to like 25-35m, increase the mag size to 50, and reduce the damage per tick to 20 or less. Now you've got a team support weapon that fits within its own niche, suppressing enemies from range but not being a raw DPS weapon like the 2 machine guns. Military flamethrowers have a good bit of range to them, so there's real world precedent for these changes. I can't see why they wouldn't lean into that and let the Flamethrower have it's own spot instead of trying to compete with the 1216, Spear, and Sledgehammer.

  • 93R still feels weak.
  • Data Reshaper is good.
  • Turret seems like the best Medium specialization and I see it used way more this season in Asia (now that Healing Beam is nerfed).
  • Akimbos are strong.
  • Frag is strong.

Other feedback:

  • Signing a Sponsorship should feel more dramatic. I think there are a lot of areas in Sponsorships where SFX could be added.

Lights got rpg nerfed. Now they want cl40 and model nerf even turrets but it's completely fine with throwing knife/sword boost which is almost impossible to escape from. All their weapons have no recoil so just spam it and dash around.

The turret is impossible to balance it seems so I have a suggestion to make it better. Make it an equipment. Half the health and half the damage leave the range as is, half the time it takes to recharge. Once you have that missing ability add a mountable turret like a minigun or maybe a browning .50cal. Make it hit like a brick but be weak to grenades and stuff, maybe even a breakable sheild on the front too. Would allow mediums who don’t want to heal and don’t want to flank actually able to provide to the team effectively. Because as is the turret is too weak to be a reasonable choice for the team, and if it’s buffed anymore it’ll be overpowered. So replace it but leave it in the game in a different way.

Please nerf the Cl-40 and Pike
after all the hate the LH1 got it's genuinely baffling that another one has been added

The CL 40 needed a damage buff but 114 is far far too high it literally takes no skill to point at the floor and do around 90 to 100 damage to a player

The rocket launcher needed a nerf but the 12 second cool down makes it kinda pointless.

The FCAR is still a nearly pointless weapon to use above the AK as seasoned players know how to control the AK's recoil and it's higher fire rate gives it a much more useable DPS compared to the FCAR, either up the FCAR's fire rate or give it a little bit more damage, not a lot just a little bit.

And with the addition of the sights this is bringing a whole new round of "Why aren't the bullets going where the sight is aiming" it genuinely feels like this stupid system where the gun sight bounces around but the bullets still come out of the centre of the screen is only being kept out of sheer stubbornness as every time a gun's visual recoil is reduced or had it's time to rest reduced that gun has become more useable.
There are 2 fixes for this;

  1. Make the time to reset for the recoil animation match the fire rate of the gun this way the spray-control pattern is kept and people that use onscreen crosshairs don't have such a massive advantage over people that don't (People will use them. they are built into fucking monitors)

  2. Make the bullets come out where the gun's sight is pointing. This keeps the recoil animations the same but actually makes the sights, holo and iron useable after the first 3 shots. Downside to this is it would kinda make learning spray-control pointless.

plsease make the game balanced again. every season is the same joke where everything gets nerfed (way to much) and the new wheapons are OP the dual guns are acurate across long distance the new marksman rifle has way to high firerate/damage and for the light the old shotgun was already powerfull enough. the mesh shield is now so bad that almost noone uses it anymore grenade launchers are still being abused while aps is also so worthless you might as well not equip it, also really miss the 40 bullet ak and think one explosive mine should be enough to blow a wall since now you only get one. cudos to the scopes and the rework of the m60 tho thats actually nice

The HP is low so DPS is high, embark designed hitbox obscurment to help it in high elo. almost as if hitbox obscurment + high DPS pisses off low elo players / 150HP lowest in game pisses off high elo players. it JUST MIGHT BE the HP value being the core balancing issue*, that needs to be changed

This is probably the least fun I have had with this game so far, ranked literally isn't fun because there is alwayas a team with two cl-40s or two of the stupid dumbass pike. Not fun whatsoever, please figure out how balancing works cuz this shit is so far beyond dumb. Don't even get me started on how I can still die to the model from across the entire map or how charge and slam can do 3/4 of my health in 2 hits without any skill involved. Figure something out its just insane.

I know people say L sucks at ranked, and I can deal with Lights myself, I don't need to get good. Also, to the other reply, yes, never played tournament, but I wouldn't call myself entirely casual with 1,7k+ matches behind my back, but I play casual game modes. Mostly due to solo queue. My point is (and it was confirmed in S3, player numbers went to lowest with heavy L buffs, I took my first break from game too) you can't buff Light more, since you destroy casual play, that is it. Ranked is much lower player base, if you go by Steam achievements. The devs told Light is most played, but they have least wins, so is it too weak? No, the class design is too much lonewolf oriented. What Light needs, is more interaction/synergy with team mates (portal was good start, but requires heavy coordination), you don't need more damage, you have it already alongside mobility, that is my take on it. Also CNS still at work, can't get into matches right now :/ Also, would love to see more maps for PS, no new map or LV (if possible) variants yet.

Please nerf pike’s damage, cl40 was over-buffed, and nerf model’s pellet spread.
Medium was in a great spot in S3, now it can do more DPS than the light class.

After some reasonable nerfs to these weapons, the game will be the most balanced yet.

However, the FCAR could still use some love to differentiate it from the AKM. The idea of reworking the 93R into an automatic for light would also possibly put it on the map.

Also, we need more map variants for SysHorizon and fortune stadium.

my compliments to the developers for having done worse than last season, starting from having turned an fps game into a game where no one shoots anymore but everyone uses the grenade launcher, the few who shoot use an enhanced lh1 or the pike because the developers are some great geniuses first nerf the lh1 because it is too strong, then they give the medium an enhanced version of the lh1, then we want to talk about how broken it is to be able to give melee with weak weapons like the sword, which from L makes you a dash on you and at the same time it pisses you off and you die without being able to do anything, then let's talk about the rank scoring system, crap doesn't count for anything, you can play your best game and lose because of your teammate who gets 0 kills but you and him you will lose the same points, that's disgusting, I didn't think you could do worse but I changed my mind every season you are not able to give a balance to classes and weapons but in fact you do the exact opposite, do yourself a favor, hire fps experts and get some advice on how to give a real balance to the game because in a year of work you haven't been able to do it but rather you have only and always done worse and the new weapons you have inserted demonstrate it, the buffs you have given it they demonstrate, this season this meta is total crap, it really makes you want to play, a total disappointment, who knows if you will read this message but in any case, see your developers again who will give you ideas on buffs and nerfs because so far you have done a terrible job .

Here's a question for everyone to toss ideas at:
What can be done to encourage more people to play Medium and Heavy?
Two things were made clear by the devs in their Cashout balancing blogpost:

  1. Lights have the lowest win rate in ranked modes. Many of the balance changes were made to address this specifically, with the Mesh, Healing Beam, RPG and Explosive Mine nerfs being probably the most direct attempts to better improve Light's standing against Mediums and Heavies.
  2. Lights are the most popular class, with Heavies being the least popular. Despite calling this out and wanting to fix this, the devs don't seem to have any real plans to change this, for now.
    The biggest thing they've done for these classes are the new weapons - the Pike and the Deagles.
    However, it's obvious that the Pike, the Deagles, the Model and the CL-40 are all going to get nerfed soon, considering the insane amount of complaints they're getting. So if anyone did pick up Medium or Heavy to try the new weapons, or the CL-40 post-recent buff, they might switch back depending on the severity of the nerf, so I doubt this'll do much for how many players actually play these classes.

So considering the fact that the inevitable balancing changes to make Light more "viable" in ranked play might make the balance of how many people pick each class even worse, what can actually be done to make more people play Medium and Heavy?
And no, "give them more weapons, specializations and gadgets" is not really an answer, considering that's only happening mid-December.

half of heavys weapons are short-ranged, this problem isn't just for flame throwers because closing the distance is what made it hard playing melee. The rpg used to help short ranged players close the gap without getting killed by the players they are damaging. give heavy a gadget that just focuses on pick damage from medium range like 10-15m. like a pistol with 8 shots, with a limited amount of bullets like the tracking dart, that does 65% of mediums 250 hp.

Because this is a team game. But every FPS has a sizable population of ADHD idiots who cannot comprehend teamwork. And they'll always be attracted to Lights simply because they move faster. No amount of patches will make them play the objective. BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO.

All you can do (and seem to be doing) is to make team play so unrewarding and painful for everyone else, that NOBODY plays the objective, and the entire game loses its soul and becomes a TDM clusterf***. Only THEN will Lights finally win at a high rate.

But at the expense of making everyone else utterly miserable. Because you've intentionally dumbed the complexity of the game into oblivion, because the lowest common denominator found winning too mentally taxing.

Not only that, the one thing that can "counter" it is garbage against it since it gets destroyed in less that a mag. If you want to buff CL, at least buff APS. recently heavy has been hit with a lot of nerfs, some that i agree with, but this is about the ones i dont, and about light being weak

now you nerfed mesh shield and dome shield to unreasonable amounts of weakness, but i think you should have taken the opposite approach, you see light has glitch grenades, so if you buff mesh and dome shield back to how they were before, maybe even a little stronger, you will be directly making light more useful, and we may finally see light in meta play and ranked play

Here a pure fact. I'm a casual player. Maining Light and the only "platine" badge I've got is the revive one. And sorry but yeah, Light class is a problem because they can do shit in this game except dying. You can forget about win a 1v1 without stun, cloath or vanishing bomb. You can't fight fairly because the Light weapons CAN NOT damage the other class like they did. It's just unfair, unbalance and exceptionnally stupid. Go in World Tour, go in ranked. If the game is to turn to the light, where are they so ?
I'm BF player, I know teamplay and yes, you're right nobody play objectives. They all chasing for kills but this is not a class problem. The only problem is the light getting farm by other.

@naive yarrow You will never see a light meta by buffing other class. Light as to be more powerfull OR with more HP. This is the only way to balance this gamein a easier way.

The issue is that there are nerfs to Medium and Heavy that could make Lights more viable. However instead of doing most of those, Embark screwed the Beam and Mesh - two specializations built for teamplay which Light players, at least ones who are skilled enough to be able to stay with their team, can easily take advantage of. Nerfing literally anything else would have done more to improve Lights' standing. Nerfs of RPGs and Mines are examples that benefit Lights, even if I think both are somewhat unjustified.

Lights aren't weak. They just refuse to play the game properly. The issue isn't with the class. It's with the psychographic profile of the players who pick this.

You cannot fix this. All you can do is ruin the central premise of the game so that it no longer rewards teamwork. That is the only way Lights will finally thrive.

And unfortunately, it seems like the path Embark is gradually taking. Because it turns out they need to pay the bills. And low-impulse control players tend to buy the most cosmetics.

It's the sad path every innovative FPS eventually takes once they're forced to concede that 80% of the genre's audience is dumb as shit. And making a complex, innovative game is just cutting holes in their own pockets.

As someone that got E1 last season only playing light, I agree that light is not a weak class. It is frustrating though that the CL-40 is a 2 shot against light even if both shots miss and you only get hit with splash damage. There are so many things you need to play around to not get insta killed. Double mine on the back of a closed doorway, sniper 1 shot headshots, rpg makes it so you die to a single bullet, model 1 tap and melee combo, etc.

Wanting Light to be 'equal' to Medium/Heavy doesn't make sense to me. L is the least team/objective oriented class, while M/H are by design made to have a synergy that wins games.

L win rate will ALWAYS be the lowest, no matter what Embark does. The vast majority of people play it like a lone wolf focusing on kills, and only a few use the strengths of the class to support their team. Because the class is indeed strong at what it does.

I like how people tend to forget that they have stats for both Casual Light players who play the game 1-2 hours a day, and the hardcore Light mains who breath ospuze daily. Having Light struggle in both competitive and casual IS in fact a problem.

I think giving light maneuverability and combat movement would fix the class being weak. like a double jump that doesn't have to manage resources to use it. dash is easy to predict when you know where they are gonna go, because the dash travels a fixed amount, making it easy to predict where they are gonna be next roughly in tight areas. also make the class have faster shooting while moving speed to make them hard to hit in combat. with that, they would have fixed the class dying too quickly. they shouldn't nerf aspects of medium or heavy to make that class play catch-up competitively. this type of balancing doesn't make people happy since all that it does is take away aspects of what made the different classes special in the first place. with the updates now, heavy short-ranged players have to play a harder version of a grappler character with the constant nerfs to shields and long-range damage from RPGs. mediums don't have mines to protect themselves in areas they need to fortify quickly making them more likely to rely on other players to get stuff done. they made ranged weapons like the pike, cl40 being the focal point of the season not realizing why zoners (long-ranged weapons) were powerful when left unchecked (which was why sniper weapons were op in terminal attack and were only on the light class before the season) most of the multiple builds that created different variation with heavy while also being independent of the team can't be done properly now. light still has to hang around his teammates to contribute. I get that Overwatch did team play like this and it's technically good competitive-wise, however, it wasn't fun for people who played casually. people want to have a goofy time playing the game independently, they don't want to have to rely on Jonny.Gonzales2004 to achieve something in the game on a casual level. people want to test their own skills, not their team's skills. thats why people are a bit up in arms about the changes rn.

Pike is unhealthy for the game. Single fire, high range, high damage is frustrating to play against over the network. Because of latency, once you get feedback that you’ve been hit once, you are extremely like to have been hit a second time. That is near instant fatality.

Also the Pike gives the revolver no place to be at all. It’s strictly worse than Pike, but same archetype.

Quick Cash is awful this season, so far. It's far too easy to steal the cashout multiple times, I kinda regret when it meant something and you sort of only had to defend or steal it once or twice.

Then third party is still very much alive, I read the detailed blog post about efforts being made to reduce that but the most effective way I saw folks stealing a cashout is still to wait for 2 teams to fight, then use the dematerializer from the floor under to prevent a steal or grab the cashout for themselves. Not having this much fun, it makes the whole point of holding and defending rather pointless.

Wait, how exactly does Light struggle in casual games ? Let's speak the truth here, the only Lights that struggle in casual do so because they suck. I've been playing for 850 hours since S1 and this is Light's main problem. One that Embark cannot solve. The class is hard to play AND picked by players who don't have the skill set required to make it work. So here comes the endless complaining...

Competitive/high ELO is a whole different topic, because Light's hardest counter is teamplay. A stacked team with VC will really negate most of the class advantages, and yes even good Light players may struggle in that context. However I don't see a reasonable fix to this. Once again, M/H are designed to be team/objective oriented, Light is not, and no amount of balance changes will make a difference, unless you really throw the entire game design out the window.

I've seen truckloads of bad Light players for three entire seasons. Played with and against them. No amount of arguments can convince me that the class is weak and 'struggles'. Numbers are just numbers without an interpretation. Based on their data, Embark may think something is wrong and needs to be corrected. I don't. Light being the most picked and least winning class doesn't surprise me and has little to do with balance.

I'm nowhere near a Light main. I can hold my own in a casual game, but I wouldn't in a more competitive setting. However, I've played with several skilled Light players, and they were genuinely a menace on the field. And it's not as if they were struggling to compensate the weakness of the class by skill. They could do things a Medium or Heavy wouldn't have. But yeah, it's demanding. Fine in my book. High risk, high reward class.

Controversial Suggestion : Embark should have implemented some fomo into the store mechanic. The skins and drip of this game is crazy and they should capitalize on that. Sunk cost fallacy is real, and every game does it. I bet embark has data on this themselves and can prove that those that buys into the skins are not leaving anytime soon to make their money worth it. Allowing all the skins to be freely available at all time is just good on paper but does nothing financially. Players will just keep waiting for the next skins and at the end never spend a dime on skins. I suggest that if we have enough skins catalog embark should just implement a shop rotation such as fortnite and keep drip feed the skins forever and keep players coming.

Tried playing Light and Medium after they killed my style by nerfing the Mesh Shield. Didn't enjoy myself. Saw about two Mesh users in 100 matches. Both got murdered.

Finally had a match with my old class.

RPG is pathetic now. For damage, the CL40 is a semi-auto RPG with no cooldown. For destruction, Lights have Thermite that's more accurate and has twice the ammo. Neither kills the user like the RPG either.

The Mesh Shield is pathetic now too. It's like a slightly stronger Dome Shield that can only block one direction, and you can't fire while using. It serves zero purpose. Everyone is using Charge & Slam instead, which is way more oppressive, because it makes fortifications meaningless by its ubiquity. In an objective game.

Not only that, but the Mesh nerf kills the Flamethrower stone dead. Using that without being able to Mesh flicker is suicide.

I'm done with the game until/unless they revert it. Without proper defensive tools, the game has devolved into CoD with jump pads. It's awful.

I've been playing since day 1. 620 hours played. I was Emerald 1 last season. Just got the Platinum trophy. But that's me unless the game swings away from mindless aggro. I quit.

If I wanted to play CoD, i'd play CoD.

for what the class can do in ranked, it is very little since you could be breathed on funny against a burst damage player's direction and be at 20 health. sure it's technically not a one-shot but, automatics are known for chip damage, and when you run into the enemy team carrying automatics with a semi-auto weapon you effectively melt faster than butter. It's the main reason why aggressive light players tend to have issues playing the game, making them easy to kill. the smart players have to find ways to cheese kills instead of being an upfront combat class (pot shots, hiding behind teammates, sniper, chaos of the map.) if they want the class to be fair damage-wise for other classes (the xp-54 nerf,) then they need to make the class become a combat class. either they have more health to survive chip damage or make that class be able to dodge more damage. even with me being a heavy main looking from the outside in, I will say that light just can't tank damage and they can't dodge damage without relying on the dash to carry them (even then it's limited and predictable.) that being said they don't need to nerf the other classes to make light seem good. That is what makes it frustrating for the other players dealing with that class because all that it does is make time to kill against heavy players borked whenever they nerf a weapon to make it feel fair for light players. That is why the ks-23 isn't good for fighting against a medium or a heavy. it's the reason why there were so many fanboys defending the current changes to the cl40, because they have a fair chance against fighting heavy classes now (they shouldn't be able to have influence across the entire map though). then it becomes this ouroboros of balancing which makes time to kill slower and slower. There will always be a strategy that's good for dealing quick damage for team fights (which makes the game interesting) which is why light players need a way to dodge damage or tank damage better.

With the update lowering the ziplines to fit through doors better, I've noticed on Skyway when there's a Zipline going from hospital towards hotel, your feet hit the railing and it knocks you off the Zipline and plummets you to the abyss. Anyone else have this issue?

hello embark ! I enjoy playing the finals and i love the nex sights addition. But I'm a little sad to see that some weapons dont have any options to get in the shop. Since it would look ridiculous to add sight on a melee weapon I was thinking maybe you could add different version of the secondary fire for melee. For example I'd love to be able to throw my spear at ennemies or charge with the riot shield.

Ranked/World Tour are in terrible places.

The elimination of wipe penalties, plus nerfing multiple defensive tools, means it's just mindless aggro now.

All the micro and macro strategy from Cashout has gone. It's just a non-stop 3rd/4th partying, rusher meat grinder.

I feel like this is intentional though. Adding sights, and an increasing focus on joyless, 'edgy' mil-sim cosmetics makes me feel they've intentionally sold out to the lowest common denominator FPS crowd, and are trying to attract mindless CoD types. Like most games in the genre eventually resort to.

I don't resent them. I've had a good 9 months. Get that ADHD demographic bag. I'll be off playing more interesting things instead.

I suddenly have a good suggestion: Have some of the heavy primary reduce cooldown.

Specifically, when equipped with hammer, spear, and possibly Flamethrower, it will reduce the Heavy's ability cooldown (or just Mesh) by 4 secs.

Positive feedback:

  • The Pike 556 is a great weapon, easy learning curve and fun to use! I don't usually like this type of weapon but given the right objectives it could become a main for a while, without hesitation
  • the Sponsors track have sick cosmetics, I went with Holtow because DUH that's the best one but the choice was rough. Had to watch YT videos to see the other cosmetics; would have been nice if we could have previewed everything in game rather than blindly commit to a sponsor without knowing what they offered, how it looked on our characters and at what level those cosmetics were delivered

I agree, I need heavy to have a secondary weapon that can provide chip damage at 10-15 meter range. The gun should be completely overlooked by the main ranged primary weapons for things like LMG, duel desert eagles, etc. it should provide a bit of damage for weapons that have an area of influence. Like an m1911 pistol that can fire bullets quick, with only 8 bullets, does like 60-65% health of a medium with the full clip. but you have a clip amount of ammo and need to recharge bullets like the dart gun. I understand why they nerfed the RPG, but they left a gap in the armor for short-range heavy players. Half of heavy's weapons are short-ranged and have an area of influence. they can't provide damage over medium-range fights making them useless for the team fights in a field, sure grenades can work but only for long-range/buildings. they nerfed defenses to where it's a joke to rush people with dome/goo grenades. they nerfed the winch claw to make it have a smaller range. they nerfed the mesh shield to where you can't pop the dome when needed fast enough, even though the health on the shield can be broken through easily. They can't do much in terms of closing the distance and landing a kill against a person with an assault rifle unless they are within 6-7 meters. short-ranged heavy players that set up defenses are now doubling down for defensive gadgets, making it even more of an issue for people bunkering. It is lunacy for melee-heavy players not being independent from the team, because now they have to hang around their teammates and constantly rely on them to do any sort of damage outside of there own zone. meaning that flanking with the sledgehammer is gone and was one of the best things about roaming around areas. overall if I have to dedicate more gadget slots in order to cover up one aspect of a weakness in a weapon, then it is a weapon that is flawed. I ain't touching heavy melee until they add chip damage gadgets to help playstyles around short range.

Whoever is leading the effort on the balances, fire them. There is someone who is terrible at their job and whothe fans have to pay for with this pitiful balancing. They do some nonsense and then twiddle their thumbs for weeks while the entire player base is calling for a very OBVIOUS AND SPECIFIC FIX THAT SHOULD BE MADE THE SAME DAY (i.e. the CL-40). Connection lag is a serious problem for some people

It 100% isn't a matter of poor internet speed. I'm not sure if its a ping issue but I feel that its not the case since i don't have this problem with any other game and I live in a good area (New Jersey, not too far from NY).

It seems almost randomly during some matches (not all), connection type lag occurs. I think there is a chance that it has something to do with other players, because sometimes it only happens on objectives or during team fights, or when playing with certain people, but it could just be a coincidence. Either way it's annoying to have the whole game start teleporting you and everyone else around and get killed, and I know my friend also had this problem before. This problem was not present for me before season 2.

That's about all I'm aware of surrounding the issue and hope that either someone has knowledge on how to fix it or it's an issue on the games end that can be fixed soon.

Not useful as a primary at all, but fair enough to do reliable chip damage to finish off runaways with a sliver of health. Or caught on a reload against an almost dead foe.

well yeah exactly, that's the point. you only have one mag in the clip it does around 150 damage total at short range if you have perfect aim and can put pressure in a fight without you having to just bunker in an area. heavy can't close the distance for fights against teams in medium range without relying on defense gadgets to aid him, with the nerfs to bunkers, defenses, RPG. it makes sense to have another way to put pressure on an enemy without bunkering for your teammates/charging in only to get one kill. it would still be fair for long range users. it wont hurt medium players working as a team since they can focus fire. It is meant to be used for reducing the time to kill for when you eventually rush toward a player. it would be also good for dealing chip damage against players that are out of your influence. it was the reason why heavy players held the RPG like it was an ultimate for fights instead of it being a destruction tool. depending on how you tweak the weapon, you can make heavys chip damage feel fair either being through slow firing speed or wider hipfire. @regal salmon exactly! something to have chip damage for weapons with no range. that is what melee heavy needs.

This is kinda small, but can you make possible to reconnect to powershift and quickplay matches? That way you dont have to back out everytime a teamate gets kicked for inactivity or is just kicked for no reason

CL-40 should have never been buffed so hard. Lobbies r full with player running this weapon its just not fun. I get that it's somewhat difficult to balance it but as in the current state it is? Absolute dogshit.

if I wanted to play Reinhardt, then I would have played Overwatch 2. It is beneficial to work alongside your teammates yes. however, I shouldn't be forced down a playstyle that is boring for a particular weapon, in order for it to be useful. I shouldn't rely on teammates to make a class balanced (that is why light is this problem child at the moment. They rely on teammates to do work ) I don't want to have to rely on Jonny.Gonzales2004 to make my build achieve something in the casual game. the game is already bad enough with the stun mechanics/unfair matchups being implemented into the game, I don't want to hate the game more because of the teammates I get in matches. having players becoming independent from teammates as a baseline helps make it still fair whenever teammates are down in team fights since its not expected for you to work together to become the best, just whatever players are the best. independence from your own team is good, especially with the 3 player teams. that mindset of relying on people to make what you do fair is why League of Legends has a notorious reputation of being toxic.

I don't get why all the broken guns are at heavy and medium. LIKE pike 3 shots a light without an effort but lh1 needs to 4 shot to kill doesn't make sense. model being best shotgun. Pike being best long range weapon. heavy having all mid guns makes him stronger than any xp user easily. Only viable light weapon is sword in my opinion taking long range fights with light meaningless any close range weapon without some sort of escape or movement is useless. Sword is only good because you can multi hit and some times destroy teams with it.
In summery light weapons are suppose to be stronger than other classes weapons right embark?

In general, I think the in-game voice message selection wheel (by character) lacks many basic statements, such as “my fault", "my bad" (which everyone writes often af on chat) “follow me”, "go first", “I'm following you", "silence!" "floor below" "use jumpad/zip” - there are a ton of possibilities

The selection wheel could be customized, just as emoticons are now.

In The FInals, this feature works very well anyway. Next to voice chat, it is the best solution for a reasonably close match. And it would be good if it were developed

Some items, mostly headwear and facewear, are locked into recolors and sets that cannot be used separately, which doesn't make much sense, except perhaps as a questionable strategy to sell the items individually in the future.

This issue extends beyond tactical helmets; it also affects items like beanies with headphones, the Spirited Vixen headwear, the Hazard Duty headwear, Descartes' Demon headwear, the Gunsmoke bandana facewear, the Holtow coverage headwear, the Golden Kitsune facewear, and many others.

The solution? Common sense:

  • Move all glasses to a new category that allows for mixing headwear, eyewear, and facewear, improving greatly contestant customization.
  • Create a separate category for headphones, enhancing customization options.
  • Break up headwear/facewear sets into individual items, further expanding customization.
  • Reevaluate certain sets, like the Golden Kitsune facewear (which currently uses the ninja cowl facewear).

Contestant customization is far from GTA Online level, but it can be better? yesegg

I don't think turrets should have 100% accurate tracking from range on a Light flying 90 miles an hour after a dashpad.

Please make them like humans, I'd rather 5v6. Brains are way more enjoyable and easier to fight for me 🧠

@autumn warren it's the inhuman aspects that I dislike. It tracks me at max speed better than any human can, and too often sees me when they do not, alerting them of my presence. Darn snitch hanaUglyCry lol

I just played in a lobby with 5 of them, I mostly die to panic shots. I do main Sword and I know how frustrating the lunge currently is. I do not know why Sword was buffed like this, it being more accurate is fair but it did not need more imo. I as well love playing SH1900 but that's also rather unpleasant now against so many CL40s in the lobby. Do not get me wrong, I enjoy the the CL40 too sometimes, it's a very fun weapon. But it did not need that much of a buff, if any at all, I felt like it played fine.
With the Pike I have personally not run into that many issues with, but I agree that it's a bit over tuned. The Akimbos I am not so sure about, I feel like one just needs to be careful when approaching them like the usual Heavy weapon, which is fair enough. The latest few games kind of sucked the fun out of the game for me, but I am positive that Embark will address these balancing issues. Other than that, the new map feels and plays fantastically. The new OST has also grown on me, I love it. The battlepass could have been better for be personally, but I ate well with S2 and some additional gear from the store so far.
