Exactly, even loose SBMM that is biased towards like 3min queue time or less would be way better than nothing. I don't want to queue into a match in 10 seconds if it's only going to be a stomp for one team.

The Finals has a pretty steep learning curve, which can be quite daunting for newcomers. The unique mechanics and complex controls take a while to master, and it can be discouraging for new players to compete against those who have already invested significant time into the game. I found myself struggling to keep up initially, and it took several matches before I started feeling comfortable with the gameplay.

I got salty for a couple weeks when S3 launched. But I enjoy the game very much still. There is really no alternative for a fast paced and dynamic modern shooter.

Stop opponents from stealing your cashout or decrypting a terminal 15 times ā This is a terrible challenge. How many tens of hours must be spent to complete it?! To do this, you need to let your opponents get close to the cashout, provoke them to capture and manage to kill them faster than your teammates, and so that the enemy does not stop capturing at this time. It would be better if they gave it a month to complete it.
I have always enjoyed a good snd game but this is just not it. Terminal attack is just not that fun of a game mode because it is pretty hard to balance a snd mode when you have different classes like this game does. I think terminal attack needs to be put to the side bc this game was not made for it. Just my opinion tho idk.... I am hoping that the new cod game is fun for snd and this game goes back to having unique game modes like cashout as ranked.

"Carriable Chaos" - Arena carriables do HELLA damage. Experiment with scaling damage to each respective class though.
So many updates have been released, and they just ignore the Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error. It's a pity. Although I have spent more than 600 hours in this game, and this error has nothing to do with the hardware. Since I played both season 1 and OB and season 2, but never had such errors there. And only since season 3 it appeared. Smart people who advise you to update drivers and other things, better not write, because it's all nonsense. And this error is on Embark's conscience. Support promises to fix, but in the end does not fix, they then just ignore. In the game and so online at the bottom, and any crashes in principle is not acceptable, and they are obliged to solve them immediately. I personally also for interest tried everything, but alas nothing helps, because the matter as I said before is not in the computer, but in the game. Something tweaked in this 3 season and here we are, new beautiful crashes. Bye.

the "stop opponents from stealing your cashout" challenge is made extremely poorly. I'm not sure what even counts as stopping a steal. I've pulled cashouts away, fought people off the cashout and stunned them off it several times yet only have 1 single counted stop

Suggestion:
Cash Out team wipe rule modification.
Reason:
There being no punishment for team wipes, switched players to a much more aggressive gameplay, encouraged even further by the increased elimination reward.
Also, for me and my friends, penalty on teamwipes has often been integrated as a strategy to secure a qualifying, when stealing is very unlikely due to station location disadvantages.
Modification:
A middle ground between the previous rule and the current one:
Gradually increasing team wipe penalty percentage.
Ex: 1st team wipe, no penalty, 2nd team wipe, 5% penalty, 3rd team wipe, 10%, ... up to a max of 25% penalty on team wipes.
Therefore, the first team wipes are very forgiving, but getting team wiped repeatedly pushes the team into a more careful gameplay.
Also, since further into the round there is more at stakes, with higher amounts and higher percentages, team respawn time can be used to offset those increasing penalties, by means of faster team respawn (or even personal respawn) towards the end of the match, increasing the gaming pace then.
Other Ways of Modification:

The peanlty can be, instead, gradually decreasing with team wipes, being 25% on the first team wipe, and becoming free with the sixth team wipe. Since at first, teams wouldn't have gathered a lot, the 25% won't affect them as much, unless they got team wiped for the first time towards the end of the match => more strategic gameplay.

Team wipes can be tracked across the knock out rounds in a tournament. Hence teams that have gotten team wiped in the first round, will suffer more in the second knock out.

A treshhold instead of a gradual penalty percentage increase. Ex: first 3 team wipes, no penalty, then 2 team wipes on 15%, then 30% on later team wipes.
Conclusion:
Possibilities are endless, each leading to a more strategic gameplay, and a mix between aggressive and safe approaches. Nonetheless, team wipe penalties are a must to prevent deathmach like gaming.
what? do you hear yourself? the whole point of throwing knives is close quarter combat.. giving it improved accuracy at mid-long ranges would be unbelievably broken. the DPS is already insane as it is. want more accuracy at range? use a different weapon. tired of throwing knife lights complaining about it - its not hitscan. lead ur shots - the reason the accuracy drops at range is bc the projectile has more time between you and opponent. so non hitscan will be more affected than a hitscan weapon.

Unfortunately, I also have this quest. I played for 2 hours yesterday and didn't complete it once. This quest goes against the rules of the game. The real blocking is to prevent anyone from approaching my cashout station, not just killing the person who is stealing, but also killing the person who has been stealing and has not let go. This is a complete accidental event, but Embark wants me to complete this accidental event 15 times.
Idk if anyone will read this or if theres anything that can be done, but i cant get into a world tour match. Im in oce and no one plays i guess š¦

It is literally broken. I've intentionally let opponents start a steal or start a decryption and stunning/grabbing/literally every form of preventing a cashout does not count towards the challenge. Not even kills.

Winch + Sledge is a cancer combo which is very popular among noobs who still can't do shit and barely make 5 kills in a round but ruin normal people experience and make them quit the game
Here's my idea how winch claw should be reworked:
⢠CD increased to 10-15 seconds
⢠Reduce distance from which you can reach the rival with a hook
⢠Increase the distance between the victim and those who use the Winch Claw by the time grapple animation ends
° Lights are the fastest and are dragged almost as close to the Winch user as they are now
° Mediums are dragged close but out of reach Sledge secondary attack
° Heavies are dragged close but out of reach of Sledge primary and secondary attacks
⢠Make it possible for victims to shoot and equip/prepare (but not use) gadgets during hook animation
⢠Fix winch dragging players through obstacles
You might also give this reworked winch to mediums as they lack distance-breaking Specialization for melee setups
I have vacation so Iām grinding world tour, closing in on leaderboard #150. Thatās nice, and Iām having fun while grinding. Though I wonder, is there anything the top 500 gets for being there? Like, will it get you Emerald or something when it releases? (Just like you get Ruby in TA ranked). Iām just wondering how far I should take it, or I should just chill out the remainder of my vacation.
There isnāt much information about it in-game or anywhere else. And I know I know, itās a luxury problem to have, but just want to have some confirmation itās worth it in any way other than just being on that list nobody even looks at besides the people grinding for it

The Kyoto map should be changed a lot, or removed. it's very pretty to look at, but plays horribly. there's way too much visual clutter, buildings have so many unnecessary places, and horrible flow. most roofs are too tall to climb up, meaning you can't do something you can do on Monaco and skyway stadium. The water slow is so extreme, it would be better if it was a void. You often lose fights because you just can't get to where you need to be to help your team.

Jump on Asian servers, that's what we do. So many more lobbies. Oce playerbase is all quick play lol, basically no competitive lobbies unless you have a team, and even then the wait times are brutal both on ranked TA and WT. If you ever see me or my buddies around in Asia say hi š (we all have the 5d tag)

pls delete the sniper the game would be better without it
Cash out changes are great but I get mixed feelings about the team wipe penalty getting removed. It takes the stress off of dying and being the last contestant standing in a team and I'd be lying if I wasn't relieved and appreciated that I didn't lost cash. But the penalty is a necessary evil I think.
In the future maybe custom games could have settings where players can turn the penalties on and off or how much money should be penalized. Maybe even tweak the amount of cash earn from inserting the box. If these features aren't permanent in the main game modes then that will be a good way to keep them alive, in private matches.
Also, I think the world tour stops should make it clear that each destination would have their own rules and policies because of the different sponsors, not because you're testing out features. It would make the world of The Finals feel more alive.
Please bring back ranked CASHOUT, and bring back team wipe penalties. They remove the element of āanything can change at any momentā from the game which is what made the game so fun.

remove sniper entirely, it never fun to fight and the only 2 counter play is just bad while the 3rd is just don't peek (thats not a counter play in my book, thats just avoiding). even if they didn't hit a single shot at all the sniper existent alone make people change their playstyle (no skill free value)
counter play 1: you shoot the sniper (you die)
counter play 2: forsaken your random teammate to fight 2v3 while you try to kill the sniper, and when you finally get there
your team is dead and are berating you for going on your own and guess what? the sniper grapple away and it all started
again

Putting a boomerang type of weapon in the game would be nice I think, maybe make it that whenever the boomerang returns it does more damage on the way back than an actual hit straight upfront. I think this would add a little bit of skill to use it as well
Preferably I would love this weapon on medium because the last two weapon updates didn't add anything I would personally use on medium

i just had a really bad match on seoul with a sniper on the enemy team
no weapon can be reasonably expected to out compete sniper because of the recoil, you only loose this interaction
i tried getting close to disrupt him, but he just disappeared every time with his specialization
we tried staying in doors, but a lot of the time we had to be out in the open (to move to a cashout, or because the cashout itself had good sighlines), where we just took body shot after body shot
meanwhile the sniper just stood somewhere and got free kill after free kill against people that cant reasonably protect/defend themselves beyond just not playing the game by camping behind cover or going on a side-quest that takes longer than for the guy to respawn (which mind you, can still easily fail because of lights movement abilities)
people should not be de-incentivised from actually playing the game
if possible, turning it into a higher risk-higher reward lh1 for mid range would be better, since most weapons can deal decent damage at that range and deter a sniper
a sniper that doesn't snipe would obviously be kind of weird, but it would be healthier for the game and better than outright removal or letting it stay the way it is
in order to actually stop 15 players from stealing, you have to kill them while they're stealing. Not booping them off or pulling the bank. Kill. Which doesn't always track if the enemy cancel their steal just as they get killed

I'm curious about what embark will do in the next weeks. The game is dying because of bad servers, cheaters, balance issues, TA in ranked and other things.
I'm 100% sure that zero developper is platinum or + in ranked and that's a big issue for the game. They listen to much casual players and they are ruining the game every patch themselves
Make a real anticheat strategy (no unranked with plat and +, game history and RS cancel on cheaters game, a real cheater report follow list, fix the servers, detect all players that are above 60-70% of accuracy and analyse them one by one etc..)

The bad server are what's killing it for me at the moment. I already have to play with high latency. Used to play +-40 hours a week, it's now down to maybe 5 hours a week. Last night on Kyoto it was so bad that sliding cancels immediately and I just pop up again in place.
It seems that with every update since OB, the servers are getting worse and worse. I mean, S01 handled 200k+ steam players without any issues. We're down to like 13-15k a day and it's barely playable for me. Constant packet loss, the one yellow server issue icon every few seconds etc etc. This is the ONLY game this happens in. And not to mention that almost all other games when connecting to EU servers, I get 180ms latency max. This game... 220ms minimum
@pearl kiln you really dont care about console player huh, imagine playing on xbox and play on asia dead server, never get a single match with crossplay off, if you give me suggest "just turn-on the crossplay on", it won't help, i rather uninstall this game then need to get stomp by mouse and keyboard player every single game

If the devs aren't in the highest ranks, then there's a gap in will between the players and the developers. The difference is that high-level players are waiting for balancing patches and issue changes to make the game more fun and more competitive, whereas devs only see the game's stats and the problems of the 90% of casu who talk about problems that don't really exist.
I don't see many players complaining about the servers, but I do see a lot of them crying over lights or heavy hammers.

The devs would have a ton of data that you and I cannot see. They don't need to be playing at a high level to make balance changes because they don't need to be balancing based off of their personal feel. I don't know what Embark's particular process is, what they use, what they see, etc. but assuming the devs need to be playing at a high level to make balance changes for players at high level isn't right.
Please add a Helldivers 2 or Halo battlepass system.

I agree, it's really sad. I use to get insta queues in bank it. Now for the first time I have to enable cross play to get into a game. Relly disappointing.
Hundreds of hours on this game and cash out has never been worse. The kill bonus in combination with no penalty for team wipe has made CO team death match... Why release so many changes at once? Why not test one change at a time. Wouldn't it be easier to gage how each change effects the game? Maybe they just wanted to push out everything they were working on before going on vacation... Idk maybe not.. they are still making highlight reels of last season... Aren't we a month into season 3?

They can fix the issues using the data and feedback from players. They don't need to be able to play the game at a very high level to balance it. They need to be able to take all players into account, players at high, avg, and low skill level, players playing with friends, players playing solo queue, different game modes, different classes, and find a balance that makes the game enjoyable in as many areas as they can. Just because the devs aren't amazing at their own game doesn't mean they can't do this using feedback and data. That doesn't mean all changes will work great, but even if the dev team was amazing at the game that doesn't mean the changes they make will all be correct.
Congratulations, you're destroying the game. FPS gets lower and lower every single update. HUGE maps for 9 players???? Las Vegas was the worst map and you guys created a huge map AGAIN. Makes no sense, btw this new map makes the fps LOWER than the updates. No sense.

- so whats bad about low grav? as a movement player i find low grav very annoying, yeah sure it make hard jump easier and impossible jump now possible but in combat it make jumping a death wish as it make you a very easy target when falling.
(i have so many clip of me beaming people who use jump pad in low grav) - yeah sure thats what it suppose to do but it can be interesting without being annoying

The prevent steal challenge is still awful. I got 3/15 and that was pure luck. You have to play in a worse way and let them try to steal instead of taking good fights. Its awful

Just a fashion suggestion: Please add more red and black bottoms (pants, shorts, etc.). You've been adding all these awesome red and black tops, but there is only 1 pair of pants with red and black. There's way too much yellow/orange and black, but not enough red and black.

Game is impossible to play without a premade team because ppl keep randomly leaving. Make a leave penalty already
Instead of giving 30% cash for the box insert make it give 60% of the money divided in ticks every 20 sec to the defending team and in the end give remaining 40%. Values can be changed to 50/50.
This way teams will be rewarded for their effort of defense, not simply who inserted first.
That would imply that the balance now is much worse than on release. I don't agree with that considering how powerful nukes, RPG, defibs, etc. were.

All patches are bad? They wanted to make TK more viable. They overdid it, listened to us and got it more in line with other weapons (arguably still too strong)
LH1 rework was too strong so they listened to us.
They are trying world tour changes,

Theres so much good stuff the devs are doing. And they are actually listening, they just need Time.

Stop playing with words. It's obvious that the state of the game is progressing, but the way it's being handled shows the complete amateurism of the developers.
20% for the end will kill the suspense and reward for stealing, this game needs it, just not full 100% when you defended for almost 2 minutes and someone steals or you are just out of resources and you lose everything you worked hard for. So I think 40-50% for the end is good for suspense and comeback mechanic.

I have an idea for ranked cashout.
Instead of the traditional point system where you have to completely defend a cashout to gain said points and potentially lose each cashout to a third party with no kills.. bc thatās always fun :))
Why donāt we merge cashout and bank it?
Cashout starts the same and the cash boxes have some values nothing changes to feel original.. the main difference being when you start a cashout you gradually earn the points from the cash box while under your control. If a team(s) wipe and steal during any point , your secured points are already in your teams bank - the wipe if the team was wiped. The remaining amount of the cash box will go to the next controlling team instead of earning the full amount for a quick wipe and 10 second hold.
Of course itās just an idea but Iād like to add more to this so we can have ranked cashout back !!

Havenāt used the SA1216 since the last heavy event. What did yall do to it? Might be the worst weapon in the game now.
My friends and I all play the hell out of Cashout and have since release. We would really like to see the cashbox stealing mechanic mimic what powershift does when the opposing team is stealing after the clock runs out. Very often there is no point in trying to go for the cashbox even up to 30 seconds left depending on how your team spawns after a wipe.
Our thinking is that overtime should kick in for the duration on a team's steal to alleviate that hopeless feeling that occurs so often near the end of matches. Teams will be encouraged to me more aggressive knowing they can always have a chance and defenders can't just walk away from a "secure" cashout that still has time left.

Wonder when you'll realize it isn't melee centric, just a severe degradation of networking. The servers are being strung about the place to compensate for lack of players despite the impossible regional distances they're being asked to provide for.
Registration issues are consistently a fault of poor networking which can be caused for a multitude of reasons. Poor connection to the server, enemy players having poor connection to the server, the server itself having connectivity issues, etc... What makes this game laughably awful in this regard is that there is no region lock (i.e you cannot filter out players that will never have a good solid connection to the server you're queueing into) and furthermore, you can't identify the quality of your connection to the server aside from seeing some arbitrary flashing icon at intervals limited by some sort of threshold that is entirely useless cause you'll feel it in your character movement the moment that icon is flashing š (This is why some matches are noticeably better than others, and that inconsistency alone can destroy your critical weapon timings, etc)
In this slowed down capture, before the heavy jumps, he is holding a player statue (just like cashbox) which can block bullets. The trajectory of my bullets shown to me indicate they should be hitting him, but supposedly (not visible to me) he's holding the statue where my bullets are failing to register.
(drag the progress bar with the clip paused to pan the individual bullets), you can see the statue "blocks" a hit to the body, gets hit, and then blocks a bullet that would have hit the building in the back but you can see a floating dust cloud indicating a bullet hit. Pretty interesting that it was giving me visual feedback of the surface the bullet was originally meant to hit but not actually happening.
This effects melee "registration" just the same because the enemy player (according to the server) is standing outside of your melee range when your client is visually representing them to be close enough to hit.
This shouldn't be a call to arms to "fix melee registration", it should be a call to arms to fix the servers, and NO there are no game servers capable of preventing this nightmarish registration bs by allowing people on the other side of the planet to be in the same server as you.

There should be some compensation for WT participation based on where you place out of the 8 teams playing. Even if you donāt make it to the second round. This would help people who play solo and can never get a decent team and at least make you feel like your progressing when you get out early

- Fix Bow hitreg so my arrows arenāt duds at close range
- Give FCAR an identity again, lower its fire rate and up its damage so its a proper DMR and not an AKM sidegrade
- Fix Revolver hitreg so my shots arenāt phasing through people.
- Give M60 a purpose. Either tighten its hipfire and up its firerate so it can be used at close ranges effectively or increase its minimum damage so you can actually hurt people past 30.
- Give Lewis its old recoil back. Not S2 recoil, S1 recoil. Itās damage is comparable to mediums guns, itās recoil should be to.
- Fix KS23 hitreg so we arenāt firing blanks half the time
- Increase MGL splash radius and/or make grenades detonate on enemy impact so the gun doesnāt demand a physics degree to be D-tier on its best days
- Fix Flamer hitreg and give it something it does better than the SA12. Range, damage, better afterburn, something Iām begging here.
Also Day 133 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

- Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, youāre probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
- bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)

I actually don't mind the team wipe penalty being removed from the game. (Spoiler: they didn't really remove it š²)
They changed the idea from "save as much money as you can" to simply "get more money than the enemy team faster"
Now you don't get to be a rat and wait for the other team to deposit for you, you get money for depositing, which is why you need to "run" faster than the other team to hopefully deposit before them, or, you need to "gun" them down to halt their deposit that gives them the immediate 30% initial bonus.
-Notice how when you deposit the most expensive vaults at the end of a round you earn the most money, same thing when you team wipe at the end of a round last season you also loose the most money (if your team was good and had a lotta money)
They took the same idea and flipped it on it's head and instead of "less, less, less" It's now "more, more, more". Genius, in my opinion.
*Another thing ppl don't realize - they made it so you still earn 30% for depositing money EVEN IN AN ENEMY CASHOUT. So instead of having to kill people to wipe them and take their 30% from them you can deposit a box last second AND GET THAT ADDITIONAL 30% AND POTENTIALLY QUALIFY.
They simply moved the 30% from the team wipes to the deposits.
It's litterally a different mental game now but some people don't like change. Some people may have missed the whole concept shift and think they hate the game mode changes but they don't know enough about it or don't get the whole picture and think they hate it when they are just ignorant.
I hear team mates complaining that they are getting team wipes left and right but they still loose, that's because they think the game mode is the same and they should be rewarded for eliminating whole teams.
Instead you should
-not hunt for kills, wait for them to revive and kill them again. Rewards for individual kills have been increased and the 30% for team wipes have been moved from team wipes to deposits
-Focus on depositing the vaults because that's where you get an instant boost to the score. Plus, if your team dies without you there's no penalty for the wipe and you can just come back and re-steal
It's not a "run n' gun fest" the strategy is just different now.
Personally I like the meta shift, I welcome yearly changes to the cashout rules. Maybe not every season but definitely once in a while it would be cool to have to reorganize my strats around the new rules šš¾šš¾šš¾

I would like to suggest for the game to have camera sway, affected by character movement and mouse movements.
It would add a lot to the game immersion, it also fits very well as the game has big emphasis on movement.
It would be a toggle in the options menu for people who prefer a more responsive camera, much like motion blur is.

Recon was removed because it was bassically free cheats and is unhealthy for the game. Light's weapons don't need much nerfing more so medium and heavy need a lot of buffs to be on lights level of balance. As most weapons (especially from medium and heavy) have hitreg issues that have been around since S1 and some weapons have been underwhelming or are currently being nerfed too hard.

This is exactly what I've been saying throughout S3 and beforehand. People are only complaining about XYZ being op because in reality, people of higher skill are being pitted against more casual players and the casuals are losing hard. Even when Embark nerfs casual heavies it doesn't change the fact that if you're skilled enough with light, you can drop a 20 bomb again your enemies. Yes there needs to be some rebalances, but absolutely a rework of the game's matchmaking is needed urgently.

Players will never realize the glass cannon has high dps weapon to compensate for it's low health because that's literally the definition of glass cannon, the support and tank don't need to have weapons on par with the glass cannon even though they already do - with their higher HP.

Game performance on PC is getting worse every season. It's literally not figuratively becoming unplayable and the fact that Embark hasn't addressed this at all is inexcuseable. I used to be able to run the game and get 100+fps on High in the beta, now I'm lucky if I hit 60fps on medium.

I love this game and I still think it could be an important game for the future of mp fps just in terms of what you're trying to do here.
I think if you can just fix the things that just don't work maybe they'll play a role later in actual balance. Like, for example, the thermal vision has a lot of problems with being buggy, and the range that it works at. Or, viewing people at range. Or the number of ticks per minute for character placement so you don't die to someone through a wall. Or losing the ability to shoot, press E, use my healing beam etc for anywhere for a whole life to all of the match. To name a few. Right now I'd really just like a general tightening up on the things that don't work as well as they should. Because even if you start to get the balance right, you're balancing for things that are still a little broken and have an impact on gameplay by not working as intended. Any casual lobby with more than 3 Lights usually becomes an absolute PITA. Getting harassed by multiple invisible enemies (vanishing bomb) that often see you just fine (sonar grenades), can deal tons of damage quickly (TK, sword, sniper, etc.) and run circles around you/evade death as soon as they take hits (dash) is not what I would call enjoyable. And I'm saying this even though I don't necessarily lose those games, and/or get a negative KDR at the end. But I only manage to hold my own because I've been playing for hundreds of hours, know every map by heart, am decently good at the game and usually play along at least one skilled friend on Discord. Despite this, it still feels like I need to be sweaty af to not get randomly back stabbed every minute. I can't imagine what the experience is for a solo queue beginner with not-so-good aim.
The class is not necessarily broken by itself, but it becomes nightmare-ish when there are 4, 5 players using it simultaneously.
I don't really have solutions in mind that could solve this 'problem' without, in turn, making the class too weak in tournaments.
General impressions: TKs need a fix; I very frequently see TK players pull out clutches that would have never occurred had they used any other weapon. Most Light players seem to spam vanishing bombs + dash. Why wouldn't they, as it grants them the benefits of two specialties (albeit at the cost of a distinct activation sound + shorter invis duration). This doesn't seem fair in my book. VB cooldown could be increased.
So whrn do we get a matchmaking system that actually workd?

Ok, the idea was I wanted a 22nd Century Antarctica map thatās two levels, a research base above ground, and a lab underground. There would be a new event that freezes people, slowing down movement but still slowing them to use gadgets. Medium would get a gernade that does this and we would have a new canister that does it. We would give heavy a new gadget, a laser canon that does 150 damage, requires you to charge it, and would have less aoe. We rework the rpg to do less damage like 50, have two charges, and do more aoe and more arena damage, we would give medium a Laser Sniper thatās kind of like the charge rifle from apex legends, but instead of having a magazine, you overheat the gun, and it takes time for it to cool down.

Secondly, I have tried a lot but there is still 0/5 done. I remember when you cancelled 11 eliminations per match because "it was to hard". Playing power shift I make 15 and more kills per match everyday. But this challenge with stop stealing is too hard to done, really.

This game just really isnt fun any more, playing against 4 lights using controller just aint it. CB 1,2, OB and S1 was so fun besides the nukes, light's weapons were actually pretty good but the biggest downfall to using the light was their absolute lack of team utility. They still dont have team util. They are just the best class right now, recieved most of the buffs and everyone else just got nerfed into oblivion. The teamplay in this game is just dead for the most part and its really sad to see. For those going to critisize me of talking bad about the light class, light DB invis was my favourite in casual but I didn't use it in ranked because of its lack of util. I really thought that the potential this game had was insane, really thought it will be the next big thing and still hope it will but its just in an incredibly frustrating state right now that I'm throwing the towel in.

I'm not suggesting "on par" in terms of high DPS but more of a balance for the weapons that are underwhelming or are getting smacked down too hard like the LMGS. Besides the need for hitreg to be fixed on a LOT of weapons, both the GLS, flamethrower, spear, and dual swords have been in the dumpster since launch/added to the game or they have been suffering from nerfs like the CL, LMGS, and the 93r. All of these weapons need buffs to at least be usable and be able to hold their own ground instead of being viewed as meme weapons you only screw around with.
How about add a round highlight montage when waiting for other groups ( just like OverWatch's play of the game, but likes the professional Esports Live Tournament)

Why is it that when someone deliberately leaves the game, I have to wait several minutes for them to auto-abandon the match and I am not allowed to forfeit until it's too late? But when someone accidentally loses connection due to a brownout, crash, or rare internet blackout, they only have like 3 minutes to reconnect? People ragequitting to ruin the game for everyone else is an instant decision, trying to fix a technical problem is not. Accidents should be given more leniency.
I got banned, for the dozenth time now, because of an unexpected issue that was completely out of my control, yet half the games I go into people are ragequitting and I'm the one getting punished every time. If someone clicks "LEAVE MATCH", they should LEAVE THE MATCH. Not be given another 5 minutes while I'm given none.
To put this into perspective, in my over half a decade playing CS:GO, I have been suspended less than 8 times. This game has only been out for a year and I have easily doubled that number. CS's timer is way longer and allows for mistakes. Yeah it's annoying when a player ragequits there for the same reasons, you have to wait several rounds, but the difference is that THE FINALS matches are significantly shorter and if you are caught at the wrong time you can just get knocked out before you get to legally forfeit the match. Hence my suggestion.
I'm going to ask about this every single time it happens until the devs change something.

Removing the Team Wipe Penalty in Cashout hurts the balancing of the gamemode and should NOT be kept. Yes I answered the survey, but I must explain.
Team Wipe Penalties create a sense of balance between the four participating teams regardless of their current cash amount. If the game is one-sided and two teams are crushing the other two, them pushing their luck and getting greedy for a higher score can result in a teamwipe and change the tides of the game entirely.
With the removal of the penalty, there is no threat to dominating teams in the second half of the game and it makes 3rd and 4th place either give-up or quit the game.
Cashout is the best and most unique mode in the game and part of its quality comes from someone in last place being able to play their cards right and make it to the next round with a buzzer beater wipe and steal.
I also don't agree with sharing the Cashout money with the team who inserted the box. I feeds into the lack of balance and makes being behind a lost cause.
If the last Cashout is only 15K and the person in 2nd has 30K, you want me to steal that cashout from them and get 31 kills minimum? No wonder I've seen an increase of leavers.
I assume the insert bonus is to reward players for vault plays, but opening the vault already rewards you with 1k and starting the cashout rewards you with possession and a home turf advantage with time to set up your defenses.
BTW, the solution here is not to increase kill money, that just feeds more issues. The higher the money per kill is, the less defense oriented Cashout is. People will just snipe all game without participating in the actual gamemode they clicked on.
**You've removed the risk in dying and are incentivizing players to either play with less thought, less teamwork, or just leave the game entirely.
Revert Everything In Cashout Except The Vault Logic Upgrade If It Is Working Right.**

i've never had an issue with the team wipe respawn timer, personally. the best compromise, imo, is to remove it whenever someone decides they're going to ragequit and there's a shortage of players on the team. except for maybe powershift being two players leaving.

LMGs are still very solid idk where you got "smacked too hard" from. Lewis is a straight upgrade AKM on heavy wih 100 more health. They mess up the recoil to prevent people from beaming across the map which is a terrible approach i agree with that. The game should go about consistency especially with how guns play out like recoil. Basically the gun is fine, if the recoil is to be improved the range should be reduced.

Suggestion to nerf/rework throwing knives, it's current dps and lack of reload is making it too easy to use. I would suggest adding a fatigue meter the the throwing knives.
1: after throwing around 10 (or around that value in balancing) knives a fatigue meter will begin to go down. Knives will progressively start being thrown slower with around 10 knives afterwards lowering to .7x the original throwing speed.

Hello Embark, I would like to analyze the main issue of frustration with The Finals' Cash out from the many other FPS competitive game player who plays both solo and duo. I will present my solutions to address this problem.
I'll compare The Finals with several other games I've played over 400 hours of real experience, to argue why frustration is the primary issue rather than anything else.
I started playing The Finals in the first few days of its S1 release. Before The Finals, I mainly played FPS like Apex, Overwatch, and R6, each for hundreds to thousands of hours. Honestly, before experiencing The Finals, I never thought a game could be so "thrilling," which deeply captivated me far beyond the other well-developed FPS game. The variety of weapons and gadgets, imaginative offense and defense, explosives, fast-paced combat, and the excitement of turning the tide are constantly amazing. But why are players continuously leaving The Finals?
I believe there are a few key reasons causing player discomfort and will explain the reasons and provide some effective solutions:
1.Imbalance between revive time and healing time
2.High demand for team coordination
3.Long respawn wait times
4.Unclear positioning of the revival coin
5.Limited applicable scenarios for certain weapons
6.Problem with update 3.6.0
the circuit challenge for the inscription and cash out stopping for 18 times is WAY too many and ruined any fun i was having grinding the challenges out with my friend. can we keep them open to be played in any game mode as some games modes are full stop not fun to play in and too try hardy for what i feel is a more casual styled game.

Whether we're playing good, or whether we're playing bad, this is the least amount of fun I've had with the game. Update 3.6.0 absolutely destroyed the fun factor for me, and pretty much our entire team. I still have no idea how certain changes were able to make it into that update.
I have some incredible news. I lied and reinstalled the game lol I couldn't give up . IT SEEMS LIKE the Memory allocation issue that causes the MAV crashes is caused by steam overlay. I disabled it and its the only variable that stopped the crashes.

Winch rework to make it cooler;
Instead of grabbing people it would hook on to surfaces like grapple but it wouldn't pull you so you would have to walk up a wall and could stay at one point and look around(like on a ladder)but while being abe to use weapon(kinda like scaling a building in rainbow six siege but with no upside down). If a shock wave gadget was added the heavys could use this to hook themselves to the floor so that there not affected by that. Maybe you could also make heavys attach the wench to ceilings and pull themselves up(not allowing the use of weapons while pulling up). Just an idea though.

The r.357 is too difficult to use compared to what it offers. There is practically no situation where it is a better choice than another weapon. At close range, the Model is stronger; at mid-range, a FAMAS or any AR is stronger; and at long range, any AR is also way stronger. In my opinion, the changes needed are: increase the fire rate so the TTK (time to kill) makes it worth playing with only 6 bullets, making it a high-risk, high-reward weaponāif you don't miss, you'll get the kill. I would like to see a very little recoil pattern if you shoot on the maximum fire rate to make it hard to kill someone very fast from long range. At long range, it should deal much more damage (I think a maximum 30% damage loss would be sufficient, as it is very difficult to shoot accurately at a distance with this weapon).

I don't know what rank you are, but saying that the r.357 deserves a buff is proof that you're not at the top of the ladder. If a weapon isn't played a lot, it's not necessarily because it sucks. The LH1 was excellent before season 3, and it was a weapon for guys who really mastered it.

Diamond 1 since seasin 1, now gold1 in wt and plat in ta. Mastering the r.357 this season, the weapon already lv5. I know what Iām talking about. Headshoting a light with this gun is something what you literally never do. Smallest and fastest target in the game. Sometimes it randomly happens but itās definitelly not a thing what you do by skill. I focus to the head when someone reviving, stealing or literally facing me with no dodges. I agree that lh1 was a great weapon in s2 but itās a really good example of why a gun based on the stats is not equal as how it feels in the game. If you donāt agree with me, please provide any situation where the revolver is a better weapon then anything else. In my opinion a game is balanced if every weapon is situation based and the weapon is good in a players hand who know how to use it in witch situation. Better TTK is necessary since there is no situation where the revolver wins agains another weapon if you donāt hit head. It shouldāt be like this. Great example is the lh1. Headshot multiplyer is crazy good, but even if you shoot the body, ttk is better then xp for example, simple because you have to click for each shot, iron sight gives you less vision and you have only 6 bullets. You say it can kill a medium with 2 shot. Model also can do it, not to mention you can 1tap a light and meele with the model. You are talking about close range where we already have a way better gun. How about mid to long range for a heavy? 6 bullet is not enought to kill a heavy in 30m. 6 bullet is not enought to kill a MEDIUM in 50m. If you say itās well balanced, well.. idk what to say š¤£
The only thing I agree with is the range. For the rest, the gun must not move.
It's normal to have exotic picks in a game that are taken out by some of the best players. You can't adapt the style of play to everyone.
A revolver stings and is hard to aim. Having to aim for the head is part of the game, and that's just fine.
Low Gravity event Fix Suggestion

Im so happy valorant got Released on console Because the game is actually fun compared to what you guys did to the best game that got released in years: tournament cashout. I will definitely come back if you decide to fix the game, but I uninstalled the game for the first time with this update. Im sticking to valorant now.
Just imagine you would keep your items in valorant after getting wiped or keep your weapons in fortnitr after dying. Idk why you guys started destroying the game all of a sudden, but there's no point in playing the game anymore. So hopefully see you again if they decide to fix the game
And just a side notice all the other changes like the money you get from cashing in and more money for kills is amazing, but not losing money when getting wiped is so bad, that it doesnt even matter how good the other changes are.

I have to wonder how much the devs actually play test this game sometimes. Snipers on power shift is fucking boring. Why do we persist with this nonsense? Because a bunch of ten year olds love to snipe? It ruins the flow of everything that makes the finals a fantastic game. Do something about it
The only thing you agree is literally 50% of what I said. The ārestā is just the ttk. Letās do a compare with the ak which is the most common weapon for the class: R.357: 0.86(L) 1.29(M) 1.71 (H) AKM: 0.7(L) 1.2(M) 1.7(H) /less is better. So as you can see ak wins in every situation, not to mention itās close range for the maximum damage. By distance, the gap is even wider. Also please donāt forget, you have to hit 3 times a light, 4 times a medium and 5times a heavy out of overall 6 for a single kill if the range is ideal. This is the reason of why literally nobody use trefolver, and also the reason of why it needs a buff. Range and ttk buff both necessary or a complet rework. I donāt say only ttk buff will works, I also said in the first message that I can imagine a slighly recoil for the gun so the better ttk will not be effective in long range. (Weapon stats is up to date 13/06/2024)
I think having a class number cap for powershift is a good idea (like having a max of 3 per class) because otherwise playing against 4 or 5 lights or heavies is incredibly boring and really doesnt help the game at all. Plus people will be more inclined to try different classes and play the game in more of a fun way

I'm almost done with my Pro challenge events, but there's one that I can't seem to even trigger once. It's the one where you have to interupt and opponent as they try to steal a cashout or decrypt a terminal. It's so situational and I have to sway over how to get it to trigger. 0/15? How? Bruh how?
Suggestion to buff light character, it is so bad it does not help team by anyway, and it is also so hard to lurk and get kills or fight face to face, either it need additional hp from 150 to 175 cuz rpg, mines or short guns can easily one shot lights, due to glitch traps are good now lights cannot use their specialization to escape or in and out game, either the game should be balanced or light should be reworked with the weapons and gadgets or u can just remove the character. It is so frustrating to die to a rpg or getting one shotted and dying while leaving them with 1 hp thats just unfair with light

What is with the 25 second team respawn. Actually just 25 sec respawn in general. Every other game as it at like 5 sec. The lower the respawn time the more I play meaning the more I want to play. Fix this please. 5 seconds maximum and like 2 seconds minimum

Yes it is, it's unfairly punishes everyone in every game mode, the exact same way. Weather that be yes someone playing stupidly and deserving that 30-60sec absence to someone who got killed by a heavy in 0.5 seconds who now has to sit and wait for that time. Don't even get me started on Powershift, it's possibly the worst hit by the respawn timer, for a game mode that is practically a copy paste of payload in OW, you'd think they'd know that a full team punishment of 30 seconds is ridiculous and gives the enemy team an unnecessary advantage of a good distance. Team kills shouldn't result in a punishment, it's bad enough that your whole team is nowhere near the objective it doesn't also need to delay the push tho. It needs to be assessed

Here's my idea how winch claw should be reworked:
⢠CD increased to 10-15 seconds
⢠Reduce distance from which you can reach the rival with a hook
⢠Increase the distance between the victim and those who use the Winch Claw by the time grapple animation ends
° Lights are the fastest and are dragged almost as close to the Winch user as they are now
° Mediums are dragged close but out of reach Sledge secondary attack
° Heavies are dragged close but out of reach of Sledge primary and secondary attacks
⢠Make it possible for victims to shoot and equip/prepare (but not use) gadgets during hook animation
⢠Fix winch dragging players through obstacles
You might also give this reworked winch to mediums as they lack distance-breaking Specialization for melee setups

An individual is powerless; without teammate support, no matter how well you perform or how severe the opponent's mistakes are, they are almost never punished!
If you are unlucky enough to be killed by a mine or grenade, the long 20-second respawn time and movement time afterward will significantly waste the combat rhythm. As the extraction time keeps ticking away, the chance of victory diminishes due to accidental deaths. Therefore, most players opt to revive teammates first, but this also wastes a lot of time. Worse still, you might get caught and killed midway, leading to a team wipe, resulting in some facing up to 40 seconds of respawn time. In a game where you can be killed by explosions from all directions at any moment, this is unacceptable, causing players to feel extremely frustrated and lacking in control. Another possibility is that you manage to win a wave of victory, only to have the next team immediately follow, nullifying your previous win, which also brings extreme frustration.
What to do? I have two suggestions:
1.Implement a kill-to-heal mechanism, where each kill instantly heals 100 HP up to the maximum, similar to Apex's shield swapping or Overwatch's health packs, increasing individual maneuverability. When your teammates are dead and time is tight, you have a chance to make a desperate counterattack if the opponent makes a mistake.
2.Change the usable revival coin time to five seconds and show which team member used the revival coin in the kill feed. A five-second revival time makes the revival coin impactful in the game and allows unlucky teammates to return to the battlefield quickly in about ten seconds. The use of revival coins in a game will truly enter players' strategies.

okay, this is getting really annoying, the constant sonar vision bug in TA, getting disconnected and not being able to reconnect right before the final round in WT, it acted like the World Tour was done, just, so many issues. Revolver has 2x headshot multi compared to the regular 1.5x, so if you can hit consistent headshots itll have a faster ttk, even if you hit all heads with ak

In contracts where you have to deal damage with fire, using the flamethrower would actually count towards the contract. So It'd be nice if grenade launcher weapons count towards contracts where you have to deal damage with grenades. Otherwise please specify that the grenades have to be gadgets.

New game mode idea: Hackfest
Description: There is no cashout involve. However, there is one hacking terminal. 4 teams of 3 must compete against each other by using the hacking terminal. The hacking terminal will target a random player on the match (excluding team member). If the player is hacked, he will be kicked out of the match. Using the hacking terminal takes about 10 seconds. No new player replacements for hacked players/leaver. Hacking terminal will dissapear and respawns elsewhere after 3 mins. Player respawns normally like quick cash. Infinite credits. Last teams standing wins. 15 min timer. Teams with most players and eliminations if the timer runs out wins as first place.
Leaver will get a penalty of 15 mins for leaving.

An app or website that gives you a random game to spectate live anonymously. I would watch that stuff for fun, practically unlimited content due to the gameās show-style. Also would be cool to see drones flying around above you in game to add some more immersion. The only problem I see with this is server space (I would literally pay a subscription service just to watch this)

I know a lot of people are already attached to Scotty and June as the commentators of each match, but I would love to see more options to choose from. Like an ex-contestant giving their insight on the plays, a spokesperson from a sponsor trying to promote their company, or a guest speaker/celebrity in the world of the finals.
Probably best to implement them would be to make them a package deal, choosing pairs of commentators for a different dynamic each time. Would also make the voice lines easier since you know who to play off of instead of picking and choosing so many different people.
Would be cool for Medium and Heavy to get suppressed guns too.

Recon senses rework:While active, Marks anyone you ads at (1 target at a time) you must ads at them for 1 second then they get detected for 2 seconds before you have to take another 1 second to mark them again. Shows for the whole team. Makes it more of a support ability to get your team to combine fire at the target
I would really like to see some improvements on the current private match area. Just tiny things like the leader being able to assign different people to different teams or just choosing your own team, adding solo bank it for an FFA mode would also be nice. Most people ive done private matches with or discussed the private match mode have expressed these thoughts and honestly I feel like being able to modify the teams and match itself would really draw alot of people in being able to just have fun with your friends or set up tournaments within the community.

So how long till proper heavy class nerf? I mean proper as in, heavy can't RPG and then hit few shots or a single burst/hit for an easy kill. RPG needs major dmg nerf. Similarly panic buttons like charge and slam should be reworked to be displacement/destruction ability rather than damaging ability. It should do tops 20 dmg per hit. Make the duration of the charge longer then. This will be disruption ability instead of cheap click to kill ability. Remove winch hook or make it pull environment around much more and not the players. Start with that and maybe there won't be as much of a need to nerf any of the weapons on heavy.
New game mode idea: Hackfest
Description: There is no cashout involve. However, there is one hacking terminal. 4 teams of 3 must compete against each other by using the hacking terminal. The hacking terminal will target a random player on the match (excluding team member). If the player is hacked, he will be kicked out of the match. Using the hacking terminal takes about 10 seconds. No new player replacements for hacked players/leaver. Hacking terminal will dissapear and respawns elsewhere after 3 mins. Player respawns normally like quick cash. Infinite credits. Last teams standing wins. 15 min timer. Teams with most players and eliminations if the timer runs out wins as first place.
Leaver will get a penalty of 15 mins for leaving.
Change the terminal attack challenge to 3 games instead of 9. I knew the devs were evil, but seriously? Not a single person enjoys TA

Stun gun works. I had 15, found out on 12/15 you can just use stun gun when they're stealing..
The class does not need to be nerfed, it needs to be reworked. From what I see in most lobbies, most players favor M/L, H is the least played class.
I used to play Heavy a lot during S1, but the class has become boring due to its over-reliance on specs and gadgets IMO.
A few ideas:
- Revert barricade size change, or keep the current size and open up a slit players can fire from, albeit with a restricted FOV/arc of fire, maybe at the cost of reducing the ammo count from 2 to 1, adjusting the cooldown, making it more fragile (i.e. crippling it with bullets could destroy it), or needing 1-2 seconds of setup (it could load up like the defib animation for instance).
- LMGs: reduced recoil when stationary, increased damage up to mid range, bullet spread penalty when hip firing or firing on the move. Turn Heavies into human turrets that shred everything in their arc of fire, at the expanse of mobility.
- RPG: reduce damage to 100 or below, 2 rockets
- KS23: make it hitscan, 125 damage per hit, or keep it at 100 damage with HS multiplier
- SA1216: slight damage buff
- Winch claw: make it a gadget that can only grab objects (including cashouts), maybe allow it to pull cashouts more easily.
- Anti-gravity grenade: wider radius, indestructible, slightly shorter cooldown

To be fair... When I played halo, overwatch, cod, and other shooter games I played for kills.
They had slayer/TDM modes
Overwatch was objective based but still you needed to kill a singular opposing team to get your reward (moving the objective along)
While the main game mode (cashout - world tour) is a mix between BR or objective with an emphasis on killing
I do still suggest a HardPoint inspired mode that rewards players for getting kills.
This may be a good new way to have people engaged in fast paced gameplay and short respawns and feel rewarded for kills while having an objective twist:

Faster respawns and a focus on maintaining control of a designated area make it easier for new players to jump into The Finals and contribute.

Short to medium length matches and constant objective switching keep the action flowing, as well as short respawn times.
Teamwork encouraged:
Earning money is based on team presence within the zone, rewarding coordinated pushes and revives.
- I believe the long respawns in every game mode has turned away a lot of people. "Fast paced & Chaotic" don't seem palatable when mixed with high respawn times. I understand we want to incentivise team work, revives, and strategy but I think a game mode with fast respawns is well overdue in a game like The Finals.
GAMEPLAY:
Team Setup:
3 teams of 4 players.
If supported - 3 teams of 5
- Here I want to increase team size because I feel like people want bigger team sizes in The Finals to play with more friends. Also we might want a lot of concentrated destruction.
I feel like 3 teams of 4 would not be too much and would be fun for a casual game mode.
(Also would effect the size of zone and balance which is fine since all of this is just a concept)
Blitz Zone:
A designated area on the map becomes the objective (Blitz Zone or whatever it ends up being named). It can be circular, shaped like a building, or highlighted by a beam.
Earning Money:
Teams earn money based on the number of players within the Blitz Zone. More teammates present translates to exponentially higher earnings per tick.
Example:
-One person in the area will earn the base amount of points - $10 per tick
-Two people earn the base amount of $10 per tick PLUS $5 each (since there are 2 team mates inside.)
-Three people all earn the base amount of $10 per tick PLUS a bonus of $10 each (since there are 3 team mates inside
-Full team will receive a base amount of $10 per tick PLUS a bonus of $15 or $20 EACH (since there is a full team alive in the zone)
Penalties & Rewards:
"Direct Deposit" - Kills have a small siphon effect where you take money from the enemy you killed and it's added to your teams total balance.
NOTE: Only kills between players inside the Blitz Zone have siphon effect. āØClutch players REJOICEāØ
"Team wipe" aka "Bankruptcy" - Same as cashout, you loose a percentage of your teams balance if your whole team is dead at the same time.
OR bankruptcy can have a short lock-out effect where a team might not be able to earn for a short period of time after respawning.
("Bankruptcy" might be too much for a casual mode since it makes another variable to calculate mid gunfight. Might but be good for the gamer that wants to just shut their brain off. If they play this and don't care about score tm8s will complain and ruin the mood... Maybe this is an idea for a less casual modeš¤·š¾āāļø)
Match Duration:
The game lasts between 5-10 minutes with the Blitz Zones active for 2-4 minutes each before switching to a new location.
Suggestion:
For all casual modes, turn on auto Re-que. It's a wise decision.
This is a starting point, and all aspects of Blitz are open for discussion and refinement.

I find it very interesting that the throwing daggers can do more damage per second than a machine gun and that there is never any kind of reload for them.
Game is miserable to play right now, do something about lights for real. They are 0 fun to play against. Vanish Dash Lung/Backstab is just a joke. 230 headshot damage from hitscan while invis from across the map, insane. Embark you have no clue what you're doing. To the tune of actually asking us what WE THINK you should do. Like we're on your payroll. Bro. I can tell you one thing. Generally speaking, if you have a game mechanic in place such as team wipe penalties. If you think they're doing too much, you don't just remove the fucking mechanic entirely. It really doesn't appear that Embark has any thought behind their changes.

anyone have a fix for low gpu usage? i have a r7 5700x, rtx 3070, and 32gb of ram, i play at 1080 144hz and my gpu doesnt go more than 65% or 75%, my cpu is at the same % most of the time so its not a bottleneck issue. This really hurts me to say, but I am going back to Apex, and I want you guys to know why. Mainly so you can understand why people might be leaving and so you can win us back (trust me I really want to be won back)
The external reason is that Apex fixed all my biggest issues with it. Nerfed aim assist, removed aim punch, made the game more mnk friendly. But there are problems with Finals that are pushing me out as well. I'll explain the big ones that if fixed would make me dump apex and permanently return to Finals.
1, Dagger is trash. A very niche issue that touches on a larger problem. The beauty of having so many unique wepons is all the unique playstyles that arise from them. I wrote a long post about this yesturday which Is the message I responded to, go read that.

2, Preformance. I get 70 fps on my Ryzen 7 3700x and 3080ti at lowest settings. I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable for a competetive fps. I've heard it could be because of the anticheat sapping up all the cpu. I had fantastic preformance in the open beta but ever since it has just gotten worse and worse.
3, Movment is boring. There is no movment skill ceiling in this game. All we have is window climbing, and that easy after 400 hours ive mastered the movment. Compared to Apex with insane movment skill expression, this game is just sad. I want to walljump, I want to prop boost, I want to invest hours in the firing range practicing the recently discovered movment tech.
That's pretty much it. These are ordered from most to least important. I really hope these are fixed, and I can come back to this fantastic game.

Seeing this after coming from Reddit a whole thread saying rip heavies after gun nerf, makes me certain to think that both ends of this argument are completely subjective to what someone has gone through, meaning neither ends of complaining are for balance, but because they ran into a bad game at a bad time, do better.
I've been thinking about turning winch into a gadget as well. I don't think sa12 should get any buffs. Ks should only have the damage change if it stays a projectile. Barricade is also fine as it is

Heavy is strong af, but in the worst way possible. Winch with sledge/shotgun is braindead OP and the previous go to guns are agonizing to play with the horizontal recoil nerfs
LOL. heavy is overpowered. It's not an opinion. It's a fact. That's the reason why HHM is the strongest team comp. half of lobby at least nearly every game plays heavy. The numbers alone and mechanics behind heavy (as well as history of the buffs it got) show that heavy is just a crutch class that takes little to no effort. Majority of reddit threads are bad players complaining about lights. Entire finals subreddit is just cesspool of heavy mains crying around how their class is useless because their main gun that was good in close, mid and long range was finally put in line after 3 and a half seasons of the game. The existence of RPG alone makes heavy a crutch. And that is only one of many gadgets/weapons/abilities that are completely overpowered. Heavy by it's own presence, by merely existing during the match is a tool for zoning enemy players. Lewis gun is still good if you can control recoil, M60 is now a zoning tool and mow down whole team weapon if you play smart. The other weapons on heavy were getting constant buffs (except for SA that got a joke of a nerf twice and is still extremely strong). KS23 got buffed to oblivion with tons of casual friendly changes that make the gun hitscan till 50 meters and is essentially a better revolver. Hammer and flamethrower are self explanatory. Not to mention both weapons can deal damage through walls. Most fights happen in enclosed spaces in close range and paired with plenty of ways to either close the distance (charge and slam which in itself is panic button to kill light or medium for free) or pull them in (winch) or reposition using dome shield, barricades. Heavy was, is and will remain a crutch class that takes little skill to be effective with. The amount of things you have to do well on light and medium to do as well is much higher (with exception of throwing knives on light and 1887 on medium - these also take little skill to do well with)
Also just game replays in general
Power Shift needs to be fixed. I just won a game in sudden death while an enemy player was contesting the platform. If the platform doesn't stop moving while both teams are on it, it's practically impossible to stop. Whether its a bug or it's a feature of the game mode, it's not fun

Bruh this is literally one of the saltiest, skill issue, light main takes I've ever seen. Idk what lobbies or region you've been playing on but as of recently most lobbies for me have had at maybe 2 heavies max (and I play pretty regularly). You'll get the occasional H stack or HML but most of my lobbies have been populated by a mixture of L's and M's, often times mostly L's and you wonder why that is; No one wants to play heavy. The thing is a walking brick. If you use the KS-23 you will see that it's extremely temperamental, shoots blanks half the time. The majority of weapons feel like shit and are not fun, wildly unreliable; idk how much more plainly someone needs to state that. So when you see them with sledge and flamethrower, weapons that were niche for two seasons, it's just more reliable and for them to be effective these fights need to happen in close range- there's nothing OP about that, it's just strategic advantage. Get a group of melee heavies out in the open it's like shooting fish in a barrel. But what's most unfortunate is that shit takes like this is what gets the fun nerfed the fuck out of everything.
With the first contradiction saying that the reddit was lights then saying g they were heavy, to the random point made about the throwing knives and 1887, you certainly have a unique outlook on things, with an astounding amount of hours in the game, and a firm understanding of balancing, for me to run into a single one of those issues and call heavy overpowered, in my 600 hours, is surely just a coincidence.

RPG was already nerfed heavily. The self-damage from its explosion is multiplied WAY more than splash damage to enemies. So, lights can just dash once and avoid almost all the damage. And speaking of "panic buttons"... your dash is literally a crutch for ANY inconvenience you face lol. Dash OR knives (or both tbh) need to be nerfed so you can't spam them to wipe a whole team or get 100m away after taking 10 damage. Lights also have way more counters to pretty much everything Mediums and Heavies have (which is not the "core" of their gameplay; they're supposed to go in quick, do SOME damage, and get out quick...not kill a whole squad with endless damage and unhittable movement)
people need to realise that's it not about how you die, it's who you die to: if a person with 20 hours can get 10+ kills a game with something, maybe it's a bit strong, if someone with 250+ hours uses it and kills you a bunch, it's not that big a deal
As a heavy main who loves the mesh shield, I even can acknowledge it needs to be nerfed, 750 hp on demand whenever you want is pure evil, and I've gotten many cashouts that I def didn't deserve lol. For everyone else, add a cooldown timer, for me never change it lmao.
Light health should be increased to 175 or 200, and then their weapons damage rebalanced accordingly. I think shifting the light from a glass cannon perspective will help players feel better playing against lights and as light.
Mobility should remain the same though.

People saying Heavy is strong when most lobbies are full of L/M. Alright. Okay. We're apparently not playing the same game. The only time I see Heavies actually doing good is when they're on permanent life support from a Medium who almost does nothing but perma-heal the f*ck out of them.
I stopped playing Heavy altogether in S3, I just couldn't see any benefits when in most scenarios I would have done much better as a Medium or Light. The only thing I miss is being able to throw dome shields to steal cashouts under fire. I don't even care about the RPG, I just run Frags on all classes: 140 damage on a good hit, enemies don't usually see them, and you get two. So I play Medium and sometimes Light like everyone else.
Heavies are the least threatening targets in my book, I usually defeat them with more ease than M/L, unless they're very good with the class.

Sensitivity options further for scoped would be great, am a controller player and the sniper feels very hard to use even at 5% sens zoomed, and the thermal bore is even harder to aim. Need more fine tuning settings like what games like Apex Legends has.

I probably fail to adapt to the current Heavy meta. But that's not the point.
Heavies are over-reliant on gimmicks and any good Heavy I come across proves this. Notice that complaints about the class are rarely ever about its main weapons, but about its specs and gadgets, which further proves my point. There is clearly an issue when your main damage output doesn't come from your main weapon (or at least not by itself, i.e. winch + sledge insta gib).

- Fix Bow hitreg so my arrows arenāt duds at close range
- Give FCAR an identity again, lower its fire rate and up its damage so its a proper DMR and not an AKM sidegrade
- Fix Revolver hitreg so my shots arenāt phasing through people.
- Give M60 a purpose. Either tighten its hipfire and up its firerate so it can be used at close ranges effectively or increase its minimum damage so you can actually hurt people past 30.
- Give Lewis its old recoil back. Not S2 recoil, S1 recoil. Itās damage is comparable to mediums guns, itās recoil should be to.
- Fix KS23 hitreg so we arenāt firing blanks half the time
- Increase MGL splash radius and/or make grenades detonate on enemy impact so the gun doesnāt demand a physics degree to be D-tier on its best days
- Fix Flamer hitreg and give it something it does better than the SA12. Range, damage, better afterburn, something Iām begging here.
Also Day 133 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.
- 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored four bullets every second, 50 seconds for a full reload.
- 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
- Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, youāre probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
- bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)

I'm not going to lie the update 3.6.0 is the worst update I've ever seen, I hate all the changes that they've done to "Cash Out" except maybe for killing a player for 500 cash, my main issue with the game mode change is that team wipes are almost non-existent which means there's no point in team wiping someone, which removes all risk from the game mode, now I just rewards players who make successful cash outs and that's it seems a little dumb down if you personally ask me.
The absolute worst part is that during the last 2 minutes of "Cash Out" the losing team has a 0% chance of winning even if they successfully steal to cash out. Essentially Cash Out became more of a Reward type game instead of "Risk and Reward". If I'm being honest it makes the game mode honestly less enjoyable. And another thing is that it most indefinitely encourages third party because the winning team could just bully the losing team even if they can't win for like stealing 10,000 cash for the last minute. And let me just say third party is not the worst thing in cash out it's just normal whoever says it it's bad they should go play terminal attack or power shift where the game mode has no third party at all. So I say please Embark reverse these changes.

Exactly, it's not the fact that it's boring it's more like that it feels almost unplayable, because during the last 2 minutes the losing team has no way to make a comeback, plus it increases the amount of third party that's likely to happen because the winning team will just prevent the losing team from even winning not like that they had a chance and it's during the last 2 minutes. Hire someone that can design games around some type of philosophy. Embark is lost bro, like horrible horrible at game management. The most inconsistent TTKs. Do you want it to be fast or slow? Why are 1 shot weapons in this game? Why are throwing knives only viable through bunny hopping? Why does backstab do 320 damage? The whole light class, every loadout is straight up broken right now. Vanish > Dash > Sword lunge or backstab. 230 hitscan damage from invis from across the map with zero bullet drop off. Throwing knives can shred a medium with a model before he can get a 2nd shot off, which means a 0% win rate, and then you're hoping your garbage desync doesnt register 18 damage.
Game is gonna fail because Embark has done absolutely nothing to make it successful. Legit a terrible studio when it comes to design. To the tune of being like "Idk guys heres a survey what do you think the team wipe penalty should be". Lol thats just crazyness honestly.

Yeah, but then we crash into the issue of the spawn location where some teams are spawned closest to the cash out which gives the other teams an unfair advantage.
Another issue with 3.6.0 update is it increases the chances of the third party because the first two teams who are on top don't have to be worried about a team wipe, which furthers encouraging them to bullying the losing team, removing "Team Wipe" is essentially removing the risk out of playing "Cash Out". Now "Cash Out" only rewards players only make a successful Cash Out only. Without suffering no penalties which can be an issue for the losing team because that means they can't make any comebacks in the last 2 minutes no matter what. Which essentially just makes in most cases making the game on winnable because of the increase of third party and zero come back within 2 minutes of the Game. The only positive change I could possibly say is that killing a player will now give you $500 but that's about it everything else is just trash it is terrible it just ruins the competitiveness of the game mode.

Honestly that's just a winch claw issue not sledge. Melees entire downside was being completely worthless at any range; so they gave heavy an effective range of 17 meters with a stun effect on the player. Sledge is fine, winch is not, and should have never made it to the game.

It would be quite a refreshing change to have a pure PvE mode, with free (if wave-based, at least per-wave) loadout changes like pshift, and score-based competition between 2x5 or 4x3 teams if necessary. Something a little calmer to run between the track grinds.
Just played a quickcash lobby that felt pretty sweaty. All PC players on Vegas, I'm the only medium in the lobby. Our comp LMH vs LLL and HHL. Really just unfun how often a light is trying to wrap on me and dash away/heavy tries to get on top of you with hammer while I have no ability to chase or run from the fights myself... Maybe medium could have access to a little double jump on cooldown or something and actually have a unique way to utilize tools like demateralize, jumppad, zipline where the other classes couldn't reach the equipment as easily or something. Feel useless playing medium too often on different maps.
Changes to quick cash
Iām not sure if the change for respawn time outweighs the respawn position. Itās true players can fight more and longer, but once team wiped the team spawns on the furthest side of any map.
This is most noticeable on Kyoto, and Seoul.
Itās not a bad change for moving towards too many 3rd party team fights, but I donāt think the respawn position needed to change in quick cash.
I always figured it was a mode where 3 teams fight for 2 cash outs.
Tour on the other hand is much different with a whole extra team and respawn conditions.

Decrease the amount of RS lost on a defeat.
Experiment with the sniper. Possibly with an inverse damage falloff, making it do less damage at close range and full damage at long range. Or make scoping in and out take longer, with a strong slow applied until fully unscoped.

Why do I get suspended when the game is stuck in the post tournament scoreboard for 4 minutes straight without anything happening and me trying to restarting the game to reconnect?
This is frustrating especially if you in the last round of the tournament and the game just decides instead of letting you reconnect to suspend you. This seems to be a problem for a very long time now and still haven't been fixed.
I've come to find some relief when my game crashes in the first round, because then I'm probably not gonna crash in the final round. That's kinda sad
Pick a vision and stick to it stop trying to appease everyone. Trying to please everyone is a major sign of lack of vision. When you have a specific enough vision it will isolate people but this game feels unbalanced to the point of unpleasant chaos not the chaos we knew and loved from previous seasons. There needs to be some sort of consistent logic to balancing especially you guys are adding weapons every season. Asking players to learn 12 weapons per year and all their individual stats without data because you guys donāt have a fundamental philosophy behind balancing is a bit much in my opinion. TTKs are all over the place and the logic behind decisions isnāt even making sense at this point. Melee is becoming a problem it seems to be balanced in a way that itās only true counter is distance but this is problematic in a game where most objectives are close range. It makes it to where anything that dominates close range is dominant. There is a severe imbalance of effort when it comes to certain engagements and thatās incredibly frustrating to know you have to jump, dodge, aim, climb spin etc all while shooting when someone else just can spam itās not really fun. To know you have to hit 18 bullets consistently with all this movement and someone only has to hit you with two based on their weapon is just simply not fun.

Prior to season 3 there was a clear divide between ranked and casual play. If you wanted to sweat, get better and play the game around people with a deeper understanding you would go to ranked and if you wanted to just have some fun youād play casual. Now it seems because of terminal attack the community is a bit divided and itās a mix of everyone everywhere further worsening the solo experience. Terminal attack is a cool mode to have in the game but it shouldāve never replaced a core mode like cashout. Your community was built on cashout never let an outside mode outshine the core of The Finals. World Tour isnāt taken as seriously as ranked so the cashout mode really isnāt being experienced like it used to in previous seasons. There was a level of depth in gameplay you could expect from high level ranked that has been a bit lost in this season.

then in season 2 we had 3v3v3v3 limited respawn 2 cashout station cashout mode, and i was like wtf is this im not used to this and then i got used to it way better than the original 3v3v3, 3v3v3v3 is more balanced, instead of 3 teams fighting for 1 cashout station, usually 2 teams fought for 1 cashout station with limited respawn which makes it so u have to play safe which makes the game fun
and now in S3 we lost the 3v3v3v3 limited respawn cashout, and i want it back, give us a consistent mode without changing it every season

@cosmic ether I'm a medium main btw š I'm playing in EU. Lights are dominating in the lowest of the low of skill level lobbies mostly associated with new and bad players or with TA/Quick cash. "KS23 shoots blanks half the time" - yeah. If you miss the shot (since it's essentially a hit scan weapon) or have major lags. Record your gameplay and watch it back. You'll see you either miss or it's a server/lag issue. If majority of heavy weapons feel like shit then THAT's a skill issue because most of them are easy to use and effective. I've been seeing people who are garbage on light and medium and the moment they play heavy they have no issue making massive impact on the game with no effort while still moving and making same bad decision (however heavy class itself is allowing them to play bad and still succeed). "Close range". Vast majority of fights happen in close range in enclosed spaces. You can't balance the game without taking into consideration what is the most likely type of fight to happen. "Get a group of melee heavies out in the open it's like shooting fish in a barrel" - the fact you give this as example proves you are not skilled enough to be talking about game balance. You're not supposed to be out in the open as heavy. That's on you for messing up. And realistically as heavy you have more ways than other classes to survive in the open with barricades and shields. "the fun" - your definition of fun is having a click to win class that boosts bad players effectivenes way above their skill level. @plain lotus there is no contradiction. Read again. People are crying about lights being too strong. Those people are mostly heavy players. It's not a random point - throwing knives take almost no effort to use while having a great damage output. I do have a bit of a request for a future season theme a medivel fantasy if you dont know what that is its dnd type stuff the medium class could have a crossbow, the heavy could have a sword and shield(or alternatively the riot shield could have sword shield skin) and the light well ile leave that up to yall but their could also be a skin simular to the crash test dummy or the anime girl which could be a slime with a skeleton inside if its to much you can just put some coins in their or something and when you walk around its jiggles and has a slushing sound of course the jiggle will not effect gameplay its eniterly just cosmetic and a new map could be a medivel castle and the story could be after the reset the ai bugged out and is using older stuff and is becoming more and more unstable with the next few seasons being things in the past until it implodes and reboots and fixes itself and improves it self and their could be a life event where whilst your fighting glitches happen bringing you to different time periods and giving you different stuff which will be hinting at the stuff to come and then it will fake crash and when you open the game a new season starts this could bring back some players

The contract to stop opponents from stealing feels pretty bad imo.
It's basically only doable with stun gun as noone will calmly wait for you to gun them down while stealing. And even then it's a fairly boring grind that forces you into playing entire matches of cashout without a guarantee of progress in the contract.
i know coming up with compelling challenges is hard and it's reasonable to make players adjust their playstyle, but this particular one limits you in choice of gamemode, class and gadget, which is too much in my view

Can we separate the game as a whole? Like a PC version and a console version because the only way to balance this game is to separate the two because on console heavy is way harder to play than it needs to be, like Lewis and SA1216 are suck clunky and borderline useless weapons because of the recoil and awkward shot patterns if you don't perfect tracking and aiming these might put out like 20 or 40 damage during your entire fight but on PC you really have to flick your wrist to their head to win. Because of that, the devs nerf it and therefore console players suffer for it. Also STOP BASING WEAPON BALANCE OFF THE TTK. TTK IS AN IMAGNATIVE NUMBER THAT DOES NOT ACCURATELY REPRESENT THAT WEAPONS EFFECTIVENESS
its not bugged, its just EXTREMELY specific. You have to "stop" the hack by getting the kill while they're hacking/defusing (they may not let go off the hack, then it wont count)

- Glitch mine - give it an arm time and make it twice as long as the other mines because the range is huge
- Glitch mine - end the glitch effect immediatly after LoS or the mine is broken
- Defibrillator - remove the invincibility time because it is no longer needed and just unfair at this point
- Fix bugs that take no more than 10 seconds to fix and have been in the game for months such as the 'next item' and 'previous item' actions triggering on button release
Regarding the survey on WT 3.6:
on team wipe, instead of a static percentage or no penalty at all, maybe it works well, if it depens on the value of a vault/box/cashout that is involved in the wipe. like from no penalty when there was no vault/box/cashout up to a heavy penalty on a double-cashout.

@deft pecan Self damage doesn't mean anything. Most of the time enemy isn't literally in your face in meele range and even if your death is guaranteed you can trade 1 for 1 with RPG anyway. No downsides. Light dash isn't an argument and if light avoids most of the damage then there are 2 things going on: either the light is cracked out of his mind or the heavy player is terribly bad or both. Dash is not a crutch, it's a reposition tool that has 3-4 meters range and with most fights happening in enclosed spaces and close range it's usually not that useful against heavy with tons of ways to do AOE damage. Also it's not "my" dash. I don't main lights. Throwing knives are a problem because of their nature combined with a dash. Once throwing knives get proper nerf they won't be as oppressive and easy to use as now. Lights are essentially assassins and disruptors. You essentially want light to deal close to no damage and be a mosquito that does nothing more than being an annoyance. Again - unless the squad is terribly bad or light is super cracked or both "killing whole squad with endless damage" will not happen lol. @dim pivot exactly. Also a slight correction. Hours are not as important as experience. 2 players can have 50 hours in the game and be on completely different skill level and have different understanding of game mechanics and balance. It's about the effort a player needs to put when using X class compared to effort that player needs to put on Y class. When heavy class has downsides but these downsides become irrelevant and can't be used against them because heavies can just make you disappear before you can threaten them and it takes absolutely no skill to do so - that's when there is a problem. Heavy can just RPG and hit a few shots with M60 and kill a med (he can actually miss half the shots and still survive and get a kill). Med needs to hit all shots with half of them being headshots to kill a heavy. Disproportional effort required.

Just finished a world tour game with 2 bronze teammates and a medium with 0 revives. I am gold and had the best stats for everything, which sums up all of my games. This game has no matchmaking balance, like NO BALANCE AT ALL. It is a cycle of "get 1 iq teammates>carry, get frustrated and lose>repeat" this is the worst MM i have every played since the dawn of FPS games. CS:GO had better MM than this shit

Crossplay allows all three platforms to play together. PC players and console players are grouped up, and sadly when you turn it off you only play with your platform. But trying to get into a tournament or TA is almost impossible (at least on Xbox) with crossplay disabled. 
yup. As soon as you get above average skill level the matchmaking will put bots on your team while other teams have normal players that are decent. To matchmaking it's still fair because the average skill of your team is still rougghly equal as other teams. The problem is you essentially play 1v3 every fight because while other team members might be worse than you. There are 3 of them working together. You are left with 2 bot players who have no idea what they are doing and mostly can't even aim properly. It makes much more than half of the games require you to output 200% effort just to have some chance to win. But this is pretty common in nowadays games. And if you manage to carry then 2 bot players are happy cause they won the tournament game. Rinse and repeat for increased player engagement. I want to be matched with and against similarly skilled players. Not just against. Especially in something that I kind of consider ranked (WT)

Why do i have to get stressed 2x just to lose the game?? I know embark won't solve this because they are playing among themselves when playtesting in their comfy office where everyone has pretty mediocre aim i assume. I watched oscar's stream and if they are balancing around that kind of gameplay we are doomed, dude can't hit the broad side of a barn and yet we have to do all the work just to get screwed.
Not a single cent is going out of my wallet to these devs if this is how it' gonna be, just leeching from this point onward. Nexon is eventually going to shut down the game because the solo queue experience is so shit everyone is dropping the game. This is more stressful than my day job. It is funny when everyone is asking "why this game is dying, why player count so low", and here i am experiencing the reason firsthand. Because it is not fun to play competitively, if you are gonna grind you are going to lose your sanity. For premades it is not a problem but that is a minority of the playerbase.

glitch barrels aren't always around, even if you carry one you might be unable to use them at the exact moment its needed (and it often only slightly delays the inevitable)
taser only works on 1 person, and it doesn't even stop gadgets like rpg (and unless you kill that person during the stun it doesn't end up doing much, which it still might not anyways if you do, because of defib)
it often feels like fighting fire with fire is the only way to be viable, which is sad considering how much loadout variety we have to give up for a decent chance at winning
at least stuff that is run pretty much 99% of the time should be nerfed, so that it doesn't feel like you're throwing for trying to have fun with other combinations
The Terminal Attack game mode is unplayable because of AFK players. I can't play a game without encountering AFK players. On top of that, we lose SR if we lose a match with only 3 or 4 players against 5. The game mode is unplayable, and soon there won't be any players left, especially since it already takes at least 2 minutes in matchmaking. The mode has potential, but it's really being ruined.
fix the fucking game, on loadout selection screen on sys horizon map you can't see anything, and if you get revived close to the end of the overtime you get a black screen, which fixes itself at the end of the round. This kind of issues should have been fixed during the beta

Here's my idea how winch claw should be reworked:
⢠CD increased to 10-15 seconds
⢠Reduce distance from which you can reach the rival with a hook
⢠Increase the distance between the victim and those who use the Winch Claw by the time grapple animation ends
° Lights are the fastest and are dragged almost as close to the Winch user as they are now
° Mediums are dragged close but out of reach Sledge secondary attack
° Heavies are dragged close but out of reach of Sledge primary and secondary attacks
⢠Make it possible for victims to shoot and equip/prepare (but not use) gadgets during hook animation
⢠Fix winch dragging players through obstacles
You might also give this reworked winch to mediums as they lack distance-breaking Specialization for melee setups
Its still a free kill tho. Even if theyre out of range of your sledge then just run flame, lewis, or spear. Plus you can just coordinate with your team to focus fire. AND when you die now youre body is at the other teams feet making it impossible to res.
Winch should also break if the heavy takes too much damage.

Agreed. Iāve got 2/15 so far and itās really frustrating. Itās not fairly designed- should be 15 cash out steals, or you should get credit for your teammates defending. Itās too easy for a teammate to steal the kill, or for an enemy to let go of the steal for a second before you get the kill and it doesnāt count. Extremely frustrating challenge.

I think a good idea for more modifiers that play a little more of an impact to the game could possibly be a could be fall damage and/or bridle building buildings will break from a normal ammunition after a certain amount of damage, I also think low gravity is frustrating (js my opinion) and alien invasion is a little lacking in impact.

Buff spear dmg, kinda pales in comparison to sledgehammerās even with the bonus range
93r buff, objectively outclassed by every other light weapon (though u donāt really know the right way to buff it without it performing a similar function to another weapon)
Cash out team wipe penalty
More event impact on gameplay (some are very noticeable, others donāt affect you whatsoever)
Heavy rpg rework (too much of a must pick for heavies with so much utility, maybe make it have half grenade damage but keep the destruction, and counter-buff the c4 damage to mediate this? Idk tho Iām no game dev lol)
Invis rework (invis based on eyesight is never good, make it fully invis from far and clearly wavy/translucent when close, as well as requiring a deactivation before shooting)

The only class that requires no skill and effort to play this game and still play way above player's actual skill level is heavy. It's a class designed exclusively for average and below average players that allows them to play against way above average players and win. I literally played a game of heavy first time with KS23 and got stunned out in the open in the first encounter 50 seconds into the game. 2 well placed ks23 shots and the light was dead before he was able to take more than half hp off me. If I played winch with hammer I would just winch him, hit him once before he dashes out and finished things off with rpg. If you can't deal with lights as heavy it's a skill issue. Lights are the weakest class in the game with one exception - throwing knives. That loud out can rot in hell for all I care. It's equally broken as heavy class.

FCAR could use a minor buff. Recoil seems the most straighforward way to fix it- specifically tuning down the horizontal recoil, making it more consistent. Anyone else have ideas? AKM is in a good spot IMO

- Fix Bow hitreg so my arrows arenāt duds at close range
- Give FCAR an identity again, lower its fire rate and up its damage so its a proper DMR and not an AKM sidegrade
- Fix Revolver hitreg so my shots arenāt phasing through people.
- Give M60 a purpose. Either tighten its hipfire and up its firerate so it can be used at close ranges effectively or increase its minimum damage so you can actually hurt people past 30.
- Give Lewis its old recoil back. Not S2 recoil, S1 recoil. Itās damage is comparable to mediums guns, itās recoil should be to.
- Fix KS23 hitreg so we arenāt firing blanks half the time
- Increase MGL splash radius and/or make grenades detonate on enemy impact so the gun doesnāt demand a physics degree to be D-tier on its best days
- Fix Flamer hitreg and give it something it does better than the SA12. Range, damage, better afterburn, something Iām begging here.
Also Day 134 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.
- 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored four bullets every second, 50 seconds for a full reload.
- 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.

Can you rework the spear spin combo? It currently requires you to finish the animation to deal damage but it's really slow. The change is really simple. Halve the damage of each hit but double the amount of hit boxes activated, so instead of 3 hit boxes, it's 6 hitboxes in the duration of the animation while dealing halve the amount of damage. This is a trade off that guarantees hits and forces opponents to deal with a more consistent hit box. Besides that, spear is relatively balanced for a melee.

Experiment with the sniper. Possibly with an inverse damage falloff, making it do less damage at close range and full damage at long range. Or make scoping in and out take longer, with a strong slow applied until fully unscoped.

My main problem with this game and why Iāve had to take breaks and stop playing is the lag and bad optimization, I have the recommended system requirements and run on low to medium graphics but Iāve been have constant input delay and audio lag. I have never had this problem in any other game like CSGO2, ow2 and warzone. Is there a fix or solution? Also matchmaking is so bad I have 50 ish hours and constantly get put into teams who have no idea whatās happening or enemyās that are way to good for me.

Before you (hopefully) re-add Cashout as the competitive game mode, I hope you consider to change/ keep these things:
Tone back the ratio of the cash value of the vault being given by inserting, I think overall it is a good change, but a slight lean back to steals would be nice, so maybe a 25/75 or 20/80 split would be slightly better in my opinion. In my mind, this is supposed to give more emphasis on steals again so overall tension and excitement is higher.
Same goes for money lost on team wipes, please revert to losing cash on wipes, in its current state there is not enough risk involved in fighting, lowering the excitement factor once more. Trying to wipe a team to get to qualify or not wiping yourself was something that added a small, but felt tactical depth. Wiping a team last second to clutch the qualification was also very hype and kept the game engaging till the last second. Now, the game sometimes ends like 3 minutes early for you because it is mathematically almost impossible to qualify from that position. I have also noticed that the top teams often just start to grief everyone towards the end without any risk for themselves (I know this was a thing before, but there they at least had something to lose if they f* up somehow).
New vault spawns in the beginning and higher kill reward are nice and should be kept.
I have a hot take that I want to share: all balancing issues would be solved by giving medium and heavy classes more gadget spots.
Light had three, medium has four, and heavy has five. Want more mobility as a medium? Zipline. Want to counter lights as a heavy? Mines and sonar.
Gadgets are pretty balanced themselves and would really add to or fix the meta issues we have now.
I'd appreciate if Unrankeds in TA didn't count into the damn overall score of the team.
Hey everyone, probably a drop in the ocean but here's my point of view, from someone that was playing the game regularly since its release:
I stopped playing after cashout was removed from ranked, I just don't get it: that was the game, not the counter strike like mode; i tried it but it just wasn't it; tried playing normal games/world tour for a moment but without ranks the matchmaking is just so random :(
Stopped playing for a few weeks and tried again recently, only to see the cashout changes? With the cash-on-insertion and the removal of team wipe penality it just removed most of what made the game so fun to me: being able to clutch. Most of my favorite moments playing The Finals were insane clutch: getting last moment cashout, wiping a team to get beyond them right at the end, it always felt like you could win even if you got nothing until overtime; but now the game seems often over so early? It's so sad; I feel like what was fun just got mostly removed; when I finish a game I don't really want to queue up again, whereas before I would just constantly play for months with my friends
The game was so unique: fast pace, insanely well made game engine, a meta that was always changing, and every game had its insane moments and clutches; but I can't see that anymore; though I really tried
After years of playing the same games I finally found one that I wanted to play regularely, loved to grind, and had a group of friends always ready to do it with me; I'm so sad it's over
Remove Projectile deviation from the KS-23, It has no reason to have the amount of deviation that it does, I understand that its not meant for long range combat and that's probably why they did something like that, but after they nerfed the range to 23ft there is no reason to have this much deviation. It takes almost an entire tube to kill a medium from 30 to 40ft away, and that's if you can hit anything cause your deviation can make the projectiles miss completely even when leading your shots, it also makes it feel like every shot you miss up close was not because of your aim but the deviation that unluckily made the shell go in the opposite direction that the player was swinging and this happens often with lights especially when they are facing your direction, because their hitbox is microscopic when they aren't looking and moving perpendicular to your vision. I understand that the gun is a two shot on lights, but the risk of missing a single shot is enough to get you killed in most encounters especially against meta guns. If I don't land 4 shots in a row against a heavy I am guarantied to die from every one of his weapons, because it takes almost 3 seconds to pump 4 slugs into a heavy that only needs 1 or 2 seconds to kill you especially with an RPG involved. We are just two steps away from a perfectly balanced utility gun.

I played alot of Overwatch, Rocket League, & Halo back in the day and I'd say currently I'd rate The Finals as last out of all the ranked competitive systems I've participated in thus far. (Plenty of time and room for improvement)
I feel it would be fair to say given the atmosphere of the game a well rounded ranking system should have been completed day 1 without the need of so many wild revisions
But I give grace seeing how previous games you guys worked on didn't have much of a competitive ranked setting to begin with

About the World Tour rule changes: No cash loss team wipes.
At first, I really didnāt like the fact that team wipes had no cash loss penalty. The change does increase the amount of third parties and reckless/risky behavior by other teams. But as I played more, I do prefer the change now. This change has helped more than any other change made.
It makes solo queue more viable than before, as mistakes or the lack of team coordination have less of an impact now. It also just feels better knowing that we wonāt lose cash because some other team came late to the cashout party and decided itās team deathmatch time, or when all teams descend on to a vault at once. It also makes holding player revive statues hostage (a strategy I despise) almost worthless and allows for quicker team recovery.
Depending on our position in the match, the change allows us to make bolder plays and push for more cash, especially during the end game of match. It also allows us to push cashouts of stronger teams without fear of losing cash/progress.
Have there been times where I have lost because there isnāt a team wipe cash penalty, sure. But that happens infrequently enough, and I may have been in a losing situation anyways, even with team wipe penalties.
Granted, I did form this opinion with the current state of WT match making, which seems to match players over a very wide range of skill. Most matches often had large skill gaps between teams. How this change plays out in a match against near-peer teams/players, weāll have to see.

Okay hear me out: careers statistics page should show your overall lifetime support score.
We should have some sort of "tag" system in the game where people can assign specific tags, such as support, healer, scout, breacher, etc. and select specific tags they'd like to play with. In searching, this could help players match up with others who match their playstyle, and at the very least give the other players on a team some information on their teammates and play around that system.

Because of potential playercount issues, this could just be the biggest weight in some sort of matchmaking system & they can be broken down into more general categories and try and match from there (I.E Support, Defense, Offense). I feel like this would get rid of 90% of the frustration in matches because it'd give teammates far more insight into their team comp and would help match players who want to play in a similar way :D
Also, SBMM should have a bigger impact on matchmaking, specifically in WT. I feel like casual cashout is just quick cash and it can help make the 2 modes more functionally distinct

My idea for a Winch Claw nerf would simply nerf how close the Winch Claw can pull players in. This way it not only nerfs the Winch Claw + SA1216, but also Winch Claw + Sledgehammer
The Spear is supposed to be a longer ranged melee weapon vs the Sledgehammer. The Winch Claw pull-in nerf would not allow Heavy to get a free reg swing on Sledgehammer only

As for the crazy spread you mentioned, that's hilarious, because knives don't have any spread at all, it's just because you didn't aim. If knives really had 'crazy spread' then other players wouldn't have to deal with knives players jumping around without any movement penalty. If you know how powerful knives are and just want to use them to beat other people more easily, then I'd say you're a selfish person. Knives need to be nerfed.

PLEASE give demat some love, it is a really great specialization with some downsides that do not quite put it on par with heal beam. One of the most frustrating things about demat is its inconsistency when going through walls, roofs, etc... or trying to steal a cashbox and it getting stuck on invisible objects. It would most likely be difficult to change in the backend, but definitely one worth doing. I think it should demat an area, or just demat through multiple layers.
Something that is easier to implement and change that would be better in the short term is increasing the recharge speed on demat and/or giving it an additional charge.
BTW, you can turn off the chat filter/censor in the game settings

S3 Health regen, guardian turret, glitch mine, & gadget changes are all great. Alongside some minor weapon tweaks for useability such as the KS-23.
Remember when cloak light db spam that can 2-shot any class in S1? Well, now we have throwing knives (nobody still uses the alt-fire post nerf only spam) & db is back to being able to 1 or 2-shot any class. Seeing triple db teams in WT now. A repeat of OB & S1.
Remember when light stun gun spam giving free kills? Well, now we have the winch claw for heavy that not only stuns, but also pulls & allows them to do a survivable point blank rpg.
What happened to the "long ttk" gameplay?
The CL40 was given a damage nerf, fire rate buff, & range nerf, making it one of the second lowest dps to the lowest dps weapon. The only possible reason for this is due to it's burst being too good in TA but in TTK, it's one of the slowest & will lose most duels if not careful. It counters L, mid to M, & weak to H. This change made it unable to fight heavies reliably at all. The pump rate & fire rate would also be considered as a nerf as due to it depleting the 4 rounds quicker & spending more time instead with the long reload. The linear explosion change made direct hits the minimum to deal any damage, as it's explosion range is so small, making it less forgiving. Might as well name it the slug shotgun 40.
In S2 ranked, despite it being a poor pick, I still brought it to plat. Despite the low dps, you need to play safely/area denial/insane movement & learn its trajectory for mid-long shots. Before the change, the fire rate, reload, & ammo was low but it was rewarding to hit direct hits. Now it barely tickles H or other M.
Overall. Didn't care about TA, but if core game & balance changes are catered to it instead of the core gameplay of the game, it will mess up balances for other modes. Showing more that, already built gameplay & balance isn't fit for it. Most of the s3 patch felt like forgetting the balance work made during S1 & S2.

Throwing knifes needs a nerf of limited ammo (clip size) of 7 and also having a reload. Or nerfing the speed or damage. Because it's one of the most disgusting weapons to be against. As playing flex it's disgusting and feels unfair to play against if he hits all throws perfectly. Rather a sniper headshot. I have time to react and notice and it's slow. But still powerful.
SA1216 needs his range back but also needs a reload speed to keep up the balance of the gun. It feels sad to play with it. And it should be a very valid point for a gun update. If you miss one shot, I guess wait 0.7 seconds to fire the next round and then the enemy has a chance to escape and regenerate all health and it can't do enough damage to eliminate a healing beam enemy.
Dual Blades needs a buff of damage reduction, Extremely easy to eliminate with gadgets/specialisations.
Spear needs a speed-spin buff or damage buff. It's an extreme downgrade of sledgehammer.
Riot shield, Needs damage reduction by +15% at least while shielded.
93R needs a accuracy buff.

if you really like games and want modern games to be as relatively easy to play in the future as older games are, end-of-service regulation seems like the only path to take as studios simply aren't going to do it themselves as long as there's no financial incentive to do so. There's been plenty of time for it to be proven otherwise on any appreciable scale.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:
- While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
- The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
- Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
- Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
- Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders
FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:
- When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
- Remove the fov zoom in and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.
- Pyro grenades "stick" to the shield and burn the player forever, making it also impossible to see
GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:
- Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.

The opportunity created is significantly higher than the skill required to create said opportunity. You can be grabbed out there air, while running, they can grab the cash out, Iāve been grabbed off the platform and itās like you automatically are in a range they can harm you. Itās like a free kill just for being near someone thereās no jump boost if you jump out of it nothing. Just because someone can aim something in the general direction one single shot? Thatās too much power for not enough skill required to perform. Of course everyone is going to say ājust create distanceā. The objectives are almost always in close quarters and some are impossible to get to without going into some form of a smaller space. Option/Feature to be able to convert VRs into certain amounts of Multibucks, even better if based around a certain value change for 1 VR point so you could convert them all if you want to.
For example 3K VRs (full) could amount to 1K Multibucks (an example ratio, can be lower/different), this way you still need to convert a set amount of full times to get higher amounts Multibucks, so you still need to earn them (especially with play time) in a way to get enough for higher priced items.
This would be great to reward players that already unlocked equipment and doesn't have use for VRs other than new Seasonal content.
If that's not possible due to revenue needs for Embark since it is a free to play game, it would be nice to be able to get 2X XP Tokens (new feature, variations: BP XP, Equipment XP, Career XP) by using left overs VRs.

Discouraging Doubles might be an angle to tackle the third party frequency issue: Perhaps the value of the 2nd vault should just be decreased, and it's a 30% loss overall (no insert money that way)
Another idea: If there's a cashout going and is less than a quarter complete, you could give a big mobility speed boost to anyone carrying a vault (to make it more likely that 2 cashouts will start at more similar times)

When players leave Ranked TA we get no compensation, it grantees us a loss. Last game I played I went up 1200, the very next game we had 2 people leave and got no compensation and lost 7 out of 7 rounds and went down 919!!! Please make it so I can get Compensated or go down less for loosing a teamate. In Apex Legends if you are in ranked and have a teamate leave then you dont go down at all. This is a sudgestion that would fix TA and make people enjoy it mpre.

Here's my idea how winch claw should be reworked:
⢠CD increased to 10-15 seconds
⢠Reduce distance from which you can reach the rival with a hook
⢠Increase the distance between the victim and those who use the Winch Claw by the time grapple animation ends
° Lights are the fastest and are dragged almost as close to the Winch user as they are now
° Mediums are dragged close but out of reach Sledge secondary attack
° Heavies are dragged close but out of reach of Sledge primary and secondary attacks
⢠Make it possible for victims to shoot and equip/prepare (but not use) gadgets during hook animation
⢠Fix winch dragging players through obstacles
You might also give this reworked winch to mediums as they lack distance-breaking Specialization for melee setups

I suggest that a kill should grant an 100 HP in cash out. I think this would be a great change, especially because revives are a strong counter heavy-medium team with range weapon. A major issue with this game is that killing one enemy and healing both take quite a lot of time, while reviving only takes five seconds. This means that if the enemy is grouped up, even if you manage to take out two out of three opponents and then wait for health, as long as the enemies start reviving immediately, by the time you come back, theyāll all be at full HP.
The game loves to design melee weapon, but melee is generally poor. Not only do you have to avoid enemy fire to have a chance of winning, but you also need to watch out for mines, flamethrowers, shock guns, potential cover, charges, and enemies from high position. When you finally manage to trade one-for-one and leave one enemy badly injured, but you die right in front of the enemy and they die at the hands of their teammates, then after a five-second wait, all your effort ends up being for nothing.

Day 135 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.
- 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored four bullets every second, 50 seconds for a full reload.
- 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
- Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, youāre probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
- bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)

Solo player feel terrible and not a lot of team can do teamwork great, and most time the range weapon is better than melee to help your team ,most of time your teammate will stuck in building, deal with mine, gas ,fire ,or healing.
Long time to heal myself is also why the healing gun is OP, just stick together, fight with enemy, back and heal, push ,they die and you win.

as someone who solo queues 99% of the time, i have no trouble with teammates having bad teamwork. it depends on what spec you are playing but over time you will learn how to play with teammates and what you should do in each situation

These changes will make the winch completely useless, the whole point of the winch is to help melee heavies get closer for kills.
For lights, your whole thing is being fast and unpredictable, the winch already requires considerable amount of aim-leading due to its projectile-like nature, if you move fast enough and know (without a better way of saying) when to dodge the timing. This apply to movement mediums too, you should be moving so fast that the winch user canāt even get a consistent aim on you, rendering the winch useless to you. If youāre a melee heavy, the winch works both ways. If you time your attack right you can counter attack the winching heavy. If youāre a medium/heavy running ranged weapon (AR, Lewis gun, etc), why are you even in winch range at all.
when will the finals introduce an update where you can withdraw all the money you earned?
The community seems to agree that the Cashout changes were overall positive, except mainly the teamwipe penalty removal and also some about inserting vaults giving too much money.
Cashout is unique and should be the signature mode of the finals and i absolutely think its correct for Embark to mainly focus on rebalancing this mode.
I have some ideas for changes in particular about decreasing the amount of money for inserting a cashbox along with suggestions about recieving money for holding a cashout, that i believe would make it meet the criteria for a signature mode:

First of all, bring back the wipe penalty (duh) then, divide the total amount of money for a cashout into 20% for inserting, 30% every second over time for holding, and 50% for getting. The total amount of money does not change so it is easily compared. Look at this chart for explanation:

In my opinion inserting and holding a cashout is just as hard and should be just as important as actually getting it, so this seems fair. Along with this Cashout should be brought into the main page (where world tour is) along with the announcers explaining thoroughly for the new players how it works.

many of this game's issues stem from the nature of the game modes. balancing is hard when you have only three people a team
extremely hot take, but i don't think cash out as a mode works as the primary mode of the game. understanding it's the finals' core identity, but it just doesn't work beyond being competitively focused. third partying is an issue you can never solve as it's too beneficial in every circumstance, and fast ttk is very noticable when there's less targets a fight, and singling out players is much more important. cash out is a very good competitive mode, but not a good casual mode by any means
this game plays really, really well in 5v5. power shift is a fantastic addition to the game. it is very much reasonable as to why people gravitate towards it overtime. it also helps that power shift allows you to change everything about your class as you play
i think a hard focus on respawn oriented 5v5 modes is the best thing for this game. keep quick cash as is, keep terminal attack unranked, make cash out the primary competitive mode, and fill the game with 5v5 modes that resemble overwatch and other team shooters
"you're removing what makes the finals unique" i think there's many things that make the finals unique, but you make a game too unique and you only garner a dwindling playerbase. i love this game to death but the problems with its direction have really reared its ugly head with this season

I truly enjoyed cash out / tournaments for what they where before it was ever touched, now it feels like an entirely different game mode, I feel the team play aspect has been damaged with the changes as it acts more like a free for all than a competitive game mode, no risk, no reward..?
After w few matches the game starts terribly lagging, even on lowest settings and resolution it refuses to run better. First match in 80 FPS, next matches in 20

Well if u play against Heavies who miss with Hook every 8 seconds then its understandable
Otherwise every decent Heavy will wreck ur ass, especially if you'll try playing as another Heavy or Medium
Winch has a range long enough to grab a player from average close-mid distance fight
- it works through obstacles
I play Sledge + Goo Gun and it takes much more skill but gives great reward
Heavy doesn't need another distance-breaking Specialization, Medium needs it so hook can be given to Mediums
Winch + Sledge is a no-brain combo, most of such players don't even know how to use Sledge properly so they just annoy other players and thats all
The fact that the swords and shield can block EVERYTHING really sucks. I get the block, but they block way too much. They should only block a percentage of the damage. And the swords blocking all of a shotgun? Who thought of that stupidity?
Would absolutely LOVE being able to pick teams for a custom, trying to play 1v1v1 quick cash with friends and it ALWAYS ends up being 2v1 when the game starts
why is low grav still in the game, remove that shit already or at least reduce the effect
From my perspective the only reason why the Winch Claw would be considered āoverpoweredā is because itās literally your only counter this season, too many items, gadgets and weapons been nerfed for three seasons, and then youāre left with a power creep - 300 plus damage on throwing knives yet some people still complain when your caught in a bad position, and punished for it. Winch Claw is the only thing heavy has going for them.
Winch claw shouldn't go to mesh shield.
To save you a lot of work, only check players who have achieved the final round, because that's where the cheaters usually are in world tour. And they use rage setting mostly on the final round . Just try and thank me later

please either make it so enemy teams are always pink, purple, orange, or repalace the second pink color for tourney mode with like green or something. Its a nightmare for callouts when there is two different pink teams.
I believe the right thing to do is give medium class a marksman weapon, with light class having a bow & sniper, I believe we need to move the L1 to medium, like we did with sonar grenade being moved from medium to light class - either keep it ass it is or remove the 100m distance -
Dev Team Iām praying you see this or whoever is in charge of what gets worked on, Iām on PS5 and Iāve talked to countless other console players but theyāre seems to be a issue where we are all experiencing constant lag, stutters or straight up almost game crashing freezes mid game every single match we play, idk if this is a performance issue or server problem for consoles but pls look into and fix it bc its extremely frustrating to try and be competitive with the disadvantage of nonstop lag.

I doubt it is. That mine is supposed to explode as soon as the player is revived and triggers it. It never triggers, instead it disappears till the player gets killed again. And then reappears on the statue.

I dont understandwhy youve done this, but im sure you had your reasons. Ive seen a lot of hate for terminal attack, its a gamemode i hate myself. But youve changed one of the biggest things that makes this game special and its saddening to see
IT would be cool if there would be some sort of incorporation of a streak bonus but not for kills? For support? If you achieve the bonus faster revive times, faster interaction times overall?

Yes... throwing knives are stupidly powerful. And stop spawning people so far away from the objective that most of the cashout time is spent just getting there. Unless of course the devs are trying to make it so a team wipe results in a guaranteed loss. Then sure... keep the sawn distances extreme and make people not want to continue to play this game.
