Being able to ping your killer would be good. It's frustrating not being able to type "on the roof" or something on console -_-
new cashout changes makes it to where it is very, very easy to just nab all boxes as a grapple light with tp and put them in for that 30% cash, more or less guaranteeing 2nd/1st place with little effort, also the change does not reduce third partying and rewards hyper aggressive aping
they've removed a whole layer of skill that went into this game

Worst part is these changes being made like no money loss on wipe is anti casual player, sure you don't have to sweat because nothing will be lost, but it means inherently good or coordinated teams will rack up a lot more money with no way to stop them at all. And casual players will have to squeak out wins with the occasional bit of luck in either being a convenient 3rd party, or having the other 3 teams fight over 1 point while they do nothing on the other.
Please bring back the Penalty in World tour. Its just quickcash with fancy ui and longer time commitment now. I dont play World tour that often but it doesn't feel any different without them and can we get a event atleast with dead goes boom. Cause that was so fun

i don't mind the changes but there a couple adjustements. First, put the kills down to 300-400 dollars. Make the 22k a 20k box instead and put back some form of team wipe penalty (even if its small like 15%)

I'm currently top 100 on the WT leaderboards, heres my feedback on the changes based on a 5 hour session I just did
⢠"Updated the Vault spawning logic at the start of a match for more even distribution" This feels like its not working, had many matches where it was still a 3 team shootout at first cashbox
⢠"Increased the time taken to steal a cashout from 6s to 7s" Not sure what to make of this yet, it does mess up the timing in my head for a steal though
⢠"Increased cash awarded for kills from $200 to $500" Incentivising TDM playstyles seems like the wrong way to push cashout
⢠"30/70 cashbox split" This is a bad idea in theory, and still a bad idea when executed. So many more fights are now happening over cash boxes which is dragging down the chances of boxes 5/6 to spawn or be inserted into a cashout
⢠"Removed all cash loss penalties for team wipes" I don't even know where to begin with this. What was the design goal here, not to punish the kill hungry players? This has had nothing but net negatives to gameplay so far. Once you're in first as the last cashbox is inserted you can just go and poke at the other teams and make the last cashout hell for them with no downside to your team. If you're in second there no more worrying about playing passive incase you wipe because you no longer lose your money. I've seen so many matches already where it was impossible for teams 1 & 2 to be eliminated due to the cash difference with no way to remove cash off of them. Also the third partying is just as bad as it was before, but now it happens at vaults AND cashout stations
Every change in this update either feels like it doesnt do much or is just detremential to the gameplay loop of tournaments. You can earn 25K by ignoring all fights / cashouts and playing 3L with gateways just putting boxes into stations then running away lmao
I just gotta mention this due to the lack of volpe gear in the game: WHO DECIDED TO DO AN ALL RED FIT FOR THE THE VOLPE WORLD TOUR AND BRAND IT DISSUNE???? Itās the VOLPE sponsored season, not the dissune. And I canāt even make a good fit for volpe because all we have is the S1 boxer kitā¦. Super big miss right there imo

But it's definitely not a gamebreaking change to the point where it "failed", and definitely not comparable to trying meth irl my guy.. there's obv gonna be some pushback for these changes, myself included in that, but I'm not gonna beg the devs and claim they failed when its been ONE day.. literally stop crying

i dont think removal of the team wipe penalty helped get rid of third parties, instead it entises it. The only thing that would stop third-parties was the penalty and the possibility of losing a three way fight. Now someone can third party and lose the fight without being punished. Plus none of the other changes address third parties

Its crazy how many people dont understand that removing the team wipe and the 30/70 cashouts werent meant to eliminate third parties- they were meant to not encourage/reward them like before. Third partying achieves no where as much as it used to now. Only way to ever truly stop third partying is a 2 team mode. Atleast now they arent the only viable strategy in the mode like before.

the new update feels like its pushing for more risky plays because of the new lack of risk. now instead of hiding and just sitting around until the enemy leaves when your team is 2 down, you would actually fight.
yeah i have to agree i havent seen much of a gameplay change in WT.
i have seen a few teams try to play it like deathmatch but they usually end up in last place unless the top team helps them.
those guys made a real good play taking the second vault and making them take the lead in overtime last second. (hard to compete against a 44k cashout lol)
i will say tho the no cash loss has costed me a few good high kill games. and it does feel pretty cheese to wipe the top team repeatedly and them have no penaltys for playing recklessly. and its not like we can always stop them cause the way spawning works sometimes you just dont fight them that often and they get free cashouts fighting the not so great teams.
and yeah definatly notice teams wiping alot more frequently. makes me feel silly actually trying to not wipe. probably faster to regroup and traverse the map to just wipe after a cashout
i have also noticed the cashouts stations spawn alot closer together at times. kinda seems like they are trying to make all 4 teams fight duing the early and mid game. so could just need to adjust more to that yet still
The cashout penalty was good for dealing late game situations for example the two teams above us had stacked so much cash that getting the 3 vault did not get us to round two and we were only fighting with the team below us, with the penalty we could have had a chance to win
Got 3rd partied 4 times in a match after the update. Feels like actually playing the objectives and successfully defending against a team seems pointless. Most of the last team I got stayed away from each other because it's for the enemy HMH team can single handedly wipe your entire team under 2 seconds. Seriously who thought this was a good idea.

in what way does removing team wipe penalty discourage third parties? the only risk to third partying would be to lose to the other teams and wiping and losing money. Now you can third party without there being a risk at all. The 30/70 split does lessen the impact. But with people just piling on to any fight now WAY more often, without taking fights in a smarter manner there is no risk at all, which means it happens way more. That impact builds up over time. Yea you can start a cashout and defend it against a team but how can you possibly defend against another team right after recovering from an attack? For real tho tell me one way this discourages third partying.

Take an entire cashout and drop someone 30% easily moves someone from last place to first at times. It made no sense to ever bother starting or defending cashouts - now it does which imo feels more like the way the game was meant to be played.

Every change you've made to world tour is amazing. Bar one that its completely and utterly abysmal.
Revert the wipe changes, every fight is just an Int fest of straight up TDMing for every single minuet thing in the game. Theres no risk, no worries about losing a fight, theres no reason to give a shit.
Please revert the wipe penalty, bring it down to losing 15-20% then we're golden.
The flow of the game feels terrible now, if anything you've made third partying stronger because theres no reason to worry about losing anything so what do you have to lose? nothing.
from a dash light main its now about half as fun and with the no team wipe penalty the overall experience feels muted. much easier to win but there is not any tension to hook you. I don't think the nerf will allow dash to be viable in competitive games
oddly enough I'm winning more games but it all feels too proper and less satisfying. tried med and heavy too and had no problem tracking dashes. maybe try to put it somewhere in the middle if you have to but I still don't think it needed the nerf. the games are too casual to be an accurate indicator

How did team wipe penalty encourage or reward third partying? The whole not starting cashouts was solved by adding the 30% instant income not removing team wipe penalty. The way the game was supposed to be played was described in the dev note. They want less third partying. Third partying is the issue, and the only risk it had is now removed thus increasing the amount that occurs. Having the wipe encouraged smarter plays and and discouraged lack if coordination and team play. If you didnt play as a team you would lose a fight and deserve to lose the game.

I dont think they want less third partying. They want the third partying to be less frurstrating. Which in my opinion it now serriously is, if i played very well up until the end and get wiped, I dont automatically lose the entire game because of that one single wipe.
Also once the Meta adjusts to this I think there actually will be less third partying. This is what ive noticed so far atleast for the games ive played yesterday, since before teams kinda defaulted to trying to fight for a cashout if one was in progress, even if there was an unopened box. But now the rewards for cracking that box and bringing it tot he cashout actually matter allot more. So it rewards teams that are on the move allot more and just focus solely on objective.
The concern of teams going full TDM I think is mute. Teams that focus solely on kills dont achieve anything, since a 10k cashbox is already 20 kills. You can not keep up with that. But it does reward teams who have to do allot of fighting just a ltitle bit.
Only at the end does the game turn into a massive slugfest when all teams try a double stacked 22k cashbox. Which at the moment feels exciting to me, but I could forsee it become a tad boring if this becomes the meta. And kinda frustrating too.
The finals is very much a game about timings, and as such I think teamwipes are still a offsetting penalty if you get wiped at the wrong time. I dont mind the no loss on death.
Only thing is this is some drastic changes, give it some time. Maybe youll get used to it. I bet in 2 weeks there will be other things they try

I dont think the new the Update is the right way to go. It was good to get a punish for pushing a team or trying to get a cashout, now you can just relax and dont need to worry about getting wiped because you cant loose money. The kill earning on the other hand are super important for teams that are close togheter to get an advantage. But i think it should be the best of both world. Give a punish for not playing smart and getting wiped (loose 30% money) and get money by killing people. If you do this the higher teams need to stay focused and play smart and the lower teams can still win by killing other and dont need to rely on Cashouts.
Played all day long solo World tour yesterday and had a blast, my random teamates and opponents were my level (end silver/ gold), I like being able to fight without losing money even though I'd say at least 10/15% penalty could still make it interesting. I like the 30% instant cash when you plant the box but I think it would be great to reduce cash-out timer to 1min30 to cash-out, so that more money boxes are played in a round, 500$ per kill is nice. I still think medium shotgun has too much range and defibs should have longer cooldown. I fought a 3 medium team at the start of a match they rezed 5 times total in 1 fight we ended up losing ofc. Or make it so item cooldown is frozen when killed

Can we nerf heavy's free win buttons while making heavy's weapons actually feel good to play. Right now heavy just wins fights because of ridiculously overtuned abilities and has downright unfun weapons to use (looking at lmgs especially). Leave every cashout change except for the team wipe penalty and itās golden. The 30% upon deposit and higher kills rewards playing for objective and playing as a team, but team wipe penalty is a buffer for bad plays. Bad plays leads to heavy inting
yeah it is a problem, look on any sensitivity conversion site it says it cant convert well. ive been useing the same sense on every game for years so its very noticable for me. when i looked into if anyone else had a problem with it a vid of SHROUD complaining bout the sens n feelin off came up n more. youd think that would mean somthing. @raw mossyeah ive never seen a fps game use percentages and thats prob for good reason.

I play with the most wackass dpi/sens (maxed out dpi, around half sens) but I constantly have to tweak it across games. Genuinely try tinkering with DPI and sens. You shouldnāt be focusing on hitting a percentage from some conversion thingy but what feels right. Every game has different levels that feel good for me and it takes experimentation to find that. Also I donāt think we can go acting like these hypothetical people exist if we have no evidence of them existing lol.

I don't think the mode has turned to TDM, but I do think the risk reward of taking fights and using your brain in fights is nonexistant now and it works. Whats stopping teams from cashing out/inserting a vault and just killing themselves so the opposing team doesnt get extra kill cash from fighting? Also They said it themselves. They don't want more third parties. Dev Note: Weāve felt for some time that Cashout generates more āthird partyā fights than intended, as well as long-lasting team-versus-team encounters, and that happens in part because of the incentives of the scoring system. We are testing the changes above to see if they address these issues and improve the overall experience. These changes have been selected as the ruleset for the VOLPE Championships. Weāll monitor how they perform via telemetry and your feedback and will adjust them as needed.
when seeing competitive friends, me n shroud n the sensitivity conversion site complain about it you start to see a pattern. idk what u mean about experimenting on different games. you just use a converter and it works on most games. besides even if someone doesnt notice it why would they be aganst better settings. especialy when it does not sound that hard to add at all.

Will there ever be the option to have the soundtracks customizable (ie s1 or s2 tracks instead). I like the new tracks but just seems like missed potential for monetization at the very least like how fortnite forced you to buy a battle pass to get s1 theme (Not that I liked that but would rather have that over no choice)
I feel like there is no rush of danger after the "No penalty" of team wipeout in tournament cashout. Even though it feels a bit great that no money is loss, it also sucks that the enemy has the same advantage. It sucks even more to make a comeback for the losing teams ( including ours ) to have a chance to wipeout the 2nd team to win a round. I dont like this idea of no penalty. I love the rush of danger. I love the feeling of "I dont want to die so that i dont fuck up my team". I think yall should bring back the penalty but you can reduce the penalty loss by half.

Bring back team wipes, I feel like rn this is a just a kill race and tdm lobbies. We are first in games just by putting the vaults in the cashouts, not even defending it. All strategy is just gone, as you can just +forward into a point, third partying / griefing is just as easy as playing the game now.

Now the main topic : third partying. This is concept that is part of the mode, removing it completely is not the right call. However, you want to make it the penalizing for the team holding the cashout.
2 ideas to counter this : -
Checkpoints : Keep old values before update. The more you hold the more you win money. For exemple : at 25% completion of the cashout you win 20%, 50% completion = another 20%, etc. Not putting max value so that stealing is still worth in the end. At the completion of the cashout, add a little bonus for stealing. That bonus should be inferior to the whole cash won from holding. That would make last cashout worth for teams who are playing for the 2nd place, while leaving the 1st team to handle the third party.

Reduce the team wipe % over time : When you're putting the vault into a cashbox, you have a team wipe % at 30%. This % can be reduced over time during the cashout as a reward for the holding team to reach 0 at some point (can be a full completion and even before). Teams who are attacking are locked at 30% when getting wiped.
Not sure I made my point clear but feel free to comment on it and ask me questions about it, would be happy to help to make the mode competitive.
Edit : adding a new one I just though about
- You can make the team holding the cashout win a certain % of the cashout when wiping an other team aswell, so that teams that are constantly fighting and holding can still win a good % out of the cash while the other team holding a point withtout any fight has to stay on point until the very end

I like removing the team wipe incentive because it sees less camping on trophies. Moreso it's a decentive for the team getting wiped. Maybe add a bigger bonus for wiping the team.
Also the completion of cashout percentage your team holds should play a factor since they've gone this route
I just realized that the coin system is pretty irrelevant now with the wipe penalty change.
There's no incentive to use coins if you don't lose anything other than time. So unless you're losing and you need the seconds to get to the last cashbox quickly you don't need to coin at all. Just wait for revives or something.
You're better off shortening the respawn timer overall at that point imo.

They should add a forge mode to pad lack of maps, have 6v6 cashout tournament to combat third parties as another game mode, and pipe dream a mini br mode with all the maps combined/ less destruction if thats what makes a mode like that too much processing

I hold my original opinion tho that when the meta adjusts to these changes you will see less 3rd partying, mainly because its not as rewarding to do so anymore. You can still find yourself fighting with 2 other teams over the same objective. But if youāre doing that now youāre just leaving guaranteed money on the ground. While before this money was negligible, now it even be 7k for just depositing. And before you had the chance of reducing 2 teams total money by 30%.
Coming back to my original statement. My opinion is I donāt necessarily think reducing the amount of third partying should be the absolute goal here. I think reducing the frustration thats attached to third partying should be the absolute goal. It should āfeelā fairer when you lose. These changes to me reflect that the better team will win more. Teams that use their brain and picks fights they can win, avoid fights they can lose will win more often. As such when they reintroduce ranked I think you will start seeing the same amount of strategy.
And you ask whats stopping teams from inserting a cash box in a the cashout station and then just wiping themselves? The cash of the cashout station ofcourse. The fact they had the cashbox and inserted it into the cashout station means they played well up until that point. And if it is tactically viable for them to wipe, because they are stuck in a hopeless fight and think wiping allows them to get back in the fight quicker, I say more power to them. They are weighing the chances of reviving a team as a slower outcome then just wiping.
On a side note: what ive noticed is these changes to me make it feel more like the original trailers of the game. Where the focus was moreso on the cashbox and the chaos that ensues. To me this feels a bit more THE FINALS than THE FINALS from last week.

i think the 93r should be buffed like this:
- completely remove burst delay, so you can immediately fire another burst (this does not mean making it automatic, just means that you can tap the trigger immediately after the burst ends, with no cooldown)
- if the burst delay was removed, slightly lower damage per bullet so it's not op
- add a bit more bullets
- i actually wouldnāt mind if the recoil was reverted to what it was, players that can control it with no burst delay will be rewarded
I think a burst weapon should have more DPS than a non burst weapon to compensate for its burst nature, eg simply holding mouse 1 vs tapping it each burst
(but it shouldn't out DPS the M11, since the 93R has a range advantage)

I completely agree with this, and i also think light shouldnt be nerfed, its heavy and med that should be buffed in the way that lights CAN combat them still, but the H and Med can also counter it in ocaccions (or not so like this, but just an idea, i still think that H AND M should be buffed or better said their weapon-base)

I'm doing my bit to help with these returns:
-We need the return of team wipes. As others have said, at the moment it's easier to win by starting a cashout than by defending it. 30% was too much but a value like 10% is impactful enough to create some clutch but not enough to be as frustrating as the previous value.
-As for tournament mode, we need to stop giving a penalty to players who leave because one of their team-mates has been kicked for afk.
Seriously, I don't want to finish a game in 2v3v3v3, it's not interesting and getting a 10-minute penalty afterwards is just annoying. So either this penalty isn't applied when someone has already left or allow players to join a tournament in progress.

the world tour/cashout changes don't feel that great to play on, it might be an adjustment period for me but at the same time when a team gets a huge early lead due to just gapping 1 or 2 fights there is now next to no comeback window for teams below them due to not having cash wipes anymore...

With the start of this season, despite the problems, I was finding TOURNAMENTS in SA with crossplatform, but now I only find casual matches! CONGRATULATIONS, it's an incredible game and, with that, they managed to remove the SA players, FORCING them to play in NA.
please revert dash nerf, I understand you wanted to balance grapple and dash out a bit more but cloak is the best spec on light, dash did not need a nerf just to make grapple have a higher pick rate. if grapple needs help then give it more help but don't nerf the mid option in the process, this really guts the potential of melee users the most but it's also affecting anyone who has been mastering dash. Evasive dash has never been problematic it was in a good spot before the nerf

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:
- While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
- The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
- Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
- Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
- Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders
FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:
- When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
- Remove the fov zoom in and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.
- Pyro grenades "stick" to the shield and burn the player forever, making it also impossible to see
GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:
- Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.
FIX THE GLITCH TRAP:
- Glitched heavy can still use the winch claw and it doesn't stop chargeNslam

I would like to say that the state of the game currently is the worst it has ever been. It really isnāt a fun experience anymore and would love the balancing to be reverted back to season 2 and adjust lights accordingly as currently the āmetaā is awful. No matter how much I play and try to avoid playing any melee or light, itās almost impossible to play or counter how strong both of those are. As a heavy main I really canāt stress how poorly thought out some of the balancing decisions have been this season. Even if you look at a TTK spreadsheet you'd be able to determine how 1 second is a massive deal especially for specs. Dash was perfectly fine, then you had the Heavy mains with 3 - 5 different hard counters to Dash and Light in general complaining that lights exist in the first place.
Stop listening to casuals who complain about everything when they get outplayed and instead see to experienced players, streamers and content creators.
The current situation can be summarized as follows:
Casuals complain when they get outplayed by Light
Balanced spec on a weak class gets nerfed
People ask for it to get reverted because the nerf was not justified.
Same whiners tell them to quit complaining
Peak hypocrisy.
93R will never not be dogshit tier because it has actual downsides; it being a close range weapon that burst fires on a class that dies instantly and therefore needs to kill instantly.
Its burst nature means extreme precision is necessary and misses are punished harshly. Burst weapons typically require ADS which is a death sentence when up close with Light. Fast and dynamic movement - Lightās speciality - also works against the burst fire.
All of this means this weapon actually requires skill, unlike the braindead easy (typically automatic) weapons that dominate the meta on all classes.
There is also zero niche for it. M11 has close range spray, XP has close/mid range everything, throwing knives have (disgusting) close range burst.
Give the 93R to the Medium instead, it can serve as another close range option similar to the 1887 without being broken as fuck like typical Light weapons. Again, as with the 1887, it has actual downsides and thus requires skill, so it would fit the Medium class which has enough health to survive its pitfalls.
The issue with light has always been the difference between balancing light between competitive games, where teams play together and actually compliment each other, and more casual gmaes where teams play seperately and rely on fragging potential more. Lights suffer in the former but can dominate the latter. Despite what people say here though you can't simply balance all for one or the other, especially when you have different game modes

I think if you just reverted the entire game to season 1 or 2 you would fix 99% of the problems. Then small weapon balancing tweaks from there. Its just that they dont work together). And heavy and medium struggle for range while lights run 3 powerful range options

Cashout without team wipes is fun, but itās pretty braindead. The lack of punishment for wiping has exacerbated the third partying this change was ostensibly trying to solve. Itās great for a casual mode, but I also feel like quick cash already scratches that itch.

This is precisely why Light needs retuning so as not to be so disparate; a small health boost and a burst damage decrease.
Lightās lack of health necessitates its reliance upon extreme burst damage and is unfun for all parties.
Without such changes, Light will never be competitive in high level Cashout. Even at release Light was a great class individually - strong Weapons/Specialisations/Gadgets - but it simply cannot survive against skilled coordination and thus resorts to a skirmish playstyle antithetical to the nature of the game.

The game is way better than how it was before. Recon is replaced to a ability way more fun and stronger. Nuke still works combined with rocket launcher, just harder to instantly kill a whole team.
I introduced my friend, who likes fps games but only plays like once every 3 weeks, and he loved the game. There are cases where the devs try too hard to focus on making the game fair, but I think Embark pulled it off right, at least before season 3.
Healing nerfs were kinda pointless. Since you can have 2 M it doesn't really make a difference. Like why is role lock not a thing?

How is it a bad take? Their TTK is much slower than other light weapons such as LH1 and XP-54, both of which are more consistent across ranges. It is far easier to do good with those weapons than the throwing knives. Throwing knives have travel time and insane projectile fall off that they are useless outside of 10 meters.
from a light main who played TK until they got so buffed it became unfair, they need a nerf. theyāre used everywhere and are incredibly punishing bc each knife does so much damage especially with the headshot multiplier. imo they should do about half as much damage and be thrown quicker

As a dash + m11 enjoyer, I'd say that I'm largely unaffected by the 1 second addition to the cooldown timer. But then again, I was never really one to spam dash. Throwing knives could use some sort of ammo, cooldown...something; I literally picked them up solely because of how busted they are. They are fun to use, just personally I think they require the least amount of skill and have very little drawbacks.

I have a few questions regarding this item.
Adjust throwing knives, there is not enough downside for how easy to use and strong they are. Easy to land shots at optimal range, huge damage output, and no reloading is too much.
Winch Glitch is STILL unfixed. Can't dash, slide, interact, etc after getting Winch Clawed. This is literally game-breaking FIX IT.
readd wipe penalty and cashout as ranked mode, this terminal game mode is the worst ever and has nothing to do with the finals gameplay. they can just play cs or valorant if they like it.....

Man the burst pistol for minis is awesome but a tad bit lacking in dps. At the same time, I donāt think the game needs another mini buff.
Another bad take, people don't play those games because they have a replay mode. It's just an amazing QoL feature that should be industry standard for competitive games and suggesting that people shouldn't want their favorite game to have features that make other games great is super unhealthy.
Cashout feels so much more competitive now I really hope the changes stay for ranked. Third partying is properly nerfed by not giving them as much financial power and the first 2 vaults are actually valuable now. Last minute miracles can still happen but theyāre actually difficult now and will require skill instead of luck. This is peak cashout rn.
Remove the weekly challenge to play nine games of Terminal Attack. That is not challenging, that is a time sink into a mode that some/most dislike playing whatsoever.

It doesn't even feel remotely competitive now. It feels like more of a clusterfuck than ever. Idk what game you're playing, but every cashout is still being third partied. You can't remedy the most effective strategy in the game. They also destroyed the comeback mechanism. Almost all of my games end in the last cashout literally being inconsequential. I've had games where doubling up the final cashout wasn't even gonna get the 3rd place team into 2nd. Every game is 2 teams running away with it, and 2 teams with no hope. They removed risk for the best teams, and hope for the worst teams by removing the teamwipe penalty. Every decent squad is now even more incentivized to 3rd party because of no team wipe penalty and higher kill rewards. This change further exacerbated the skill gap without a doubt.
If they simply re-add Team Wipe penalty and keep everything they changed, the game would feel great.

Day 125 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.
- 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored four bullets every second, 50 seconds for a full reload.
- 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
- Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, youāre probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
- bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)

I wanted to ask if you could reinstate the cash loss penalties for team wipes while exempting the defending team so they can focus on protecting their cashout without the fear of heavy penalties, which aligns with the goal of the patch. I think this could add a strategic layer to the game and discourage teams from focusing solely on TDM, which still plagues the game. (I say this because yesterday in two consecutive games, I was able to steal both vaults and drop it at my own cashout station while the server never stopped playing like it was COD). Does more skill gap not equal more competitive? They changes definitely feel better in terms of performing well as a squad increases your chances of actually winning. While the comeback / sudden change in placements at the last second was fun, it meant that a lot of matches were determined by luck (I.e. your team caps the first two boxes, only to lose due to getting wiped once and the last minute cash boxes being worth 22k - a team that played like dog water all game can get lucky with box spawn and successfully defend for ~1 minute, beating out teams the successfully defended 2 boxes for ~4mins total)

We were in a similar position multiple times last night, and I'm even saying that from us being in the lead. #1 and #2 spots were completely locked, and there was nothing the other two teams could do to catch us. Literally obliterated the excitement and competitiveness of the game. We played about 5-6 tourneys last night, and they all just felt numb. Like... boring TDM-style COD crap. This isn't The Finals at all. They're going to lose players over this, and perhaps some of their more-dedicated players.

Youāre just telling on yourself as being bad and it sounds like you just want a casual fun mode and donāt know what competitive play means. Like most of the people complaining about the changes. Play well from the first minute to the last and youāll win.

Constant volatility and victory being up in the air in 9 matches out of 10 played a large part in the game staying exciting for me for as long as it has. A guaranteed win is boring- a guaranteed loss is just a waste of everyone's time. I'd love for the change to be reverted, but I know this would upset the certain kind of competitive player that harps on about "deserving to win" if their early game and k/d ratio is strong enough as though they're not playing an objective-based shooter. If that's not going to happen, then take it to its logical conclusion and let people quit if victory is impossible.

Bad decision to remove team wipe cash loss, while gaining kills is only a win while dying has no consequences.
That needs to be reverted as this promotes 3rd partying even more.

None of the high-end, top players (that I'm aware of) are supporting the changes. Removal of the penalty makes the game dramatically LESS competitive. As I mentioned yesterday, it's like having a hockey game, where you have the normal 3 periods, and then removing the 3rd period, and any hope of a last-minute comeback, because the other team had too much of a lead at the end of the 2nd period. It makes the whole game dramatically less fun, less exciting, and less competitive.

Cashout changes took out all the tension/excitement from world tours, dying doesn't feel like a problem anymore, no incentive to try and stay alive to res your team mates
It's not even like the rest of the match didn't matter before this patch. If you take two cashouts or in the best case scenario, win a double cashout and then take one more, you could potentially wind up in a good position to sit on a box, and playing keepaway is much easier to manage than playing defense in a certain spot. You could practically guarantee your spot if you took risks and significantly overperformed.
It's not like third partying isn't still a very effective strategy (arguably moreso, since there's no penalty for wipes.) You still have plenty of situations where you "do really well" and lose off of one or two flubs because that's just the way the game works- it's just that sometimes the end of the round is really boring now.

CASHOUT CHANGES: MIXED FEELINGS
Having played once since the change, I find that the competition and the intensity of each match has decreased. With how forgiving the cash penalty is ($0 lost) it seems to discourage engaging with the top team. Although, I do admire that inting from a troll random doesn't punish the team as much either. It gives opportunity for different loadouts/builds to take place without being severely punished too. Below are the pros and cons about my thoughts so far, after one day of playing the changes:
Pros
Inting doesn't punish the team nearly as bad as it did with team-wipe penalty
Reduces the reward for qualifying team(s) punishing non-qualifying teams
Receiving 30% of cashbox opens different depositing strategies for all light teams
Cons
Feels more casual due to loss of cash penalty; less competitive
Since inting doesn't punish the team, it doesn't discourage the behavior
No cash penalty for team wipes increases difficulty for lower teams to qualify
3rd partying still occurs even with changes
If you go on a world tour, the team that can do it picks only the team that can't do it. This is very unpleasant because the opponent posted it to play against the easier team, not to go up the round with my skills. I don't even like this. If this is repeated, not only new users but also other users will feel this wall and play the game quickly. A good team. A good team. If you look at this, you can definitely feel that the team that doesn't have the skills to help our team. Oh, the opponent posted it when I'm not good at it. You can like it or you can hate it, but I think this is the polarization of cashout. I think this needs to be improved

Matchmaking is working as intended and yes, its garbage. This is what EOMM looks like, and you should expect nothing less from a free game that wants to manipulate you into playing more by creating artifically difficult matches by grouping you with people below your skill, while matching you against people above your skill. Solo Q in this game forces you to be able to carry to get beyond even gold. If you cannot carry 4/5 matches, you will not rank up. The game doesn't let you.
i've finally finished all the world tour contracts so i confidently say world tour is only fun when you win and ranges from bad to active torture when you don't
in my personal experience it feels like CASHOUT is alot more static feeling with the 'no cash loss on teamwipe'. the cash loss on wipe meant u couldnt wrecklessly grief other people when ur in a spot where u literally cannot get knocked out anymore. being 3rd and 4th place feels alot more helpless because u have so little options. before there was the option to wipe a team and quallify that way. all the other changes are great
can we just roll back every pushed update since release and fix the real problems like everyone that has been around since before release has been asking all this time because the game went from a solid game to just issues on issues
I love turning on cross play for the first time in weeks and my first game is against a hacker with sniper that drops 21 kills and 20k damage in 8 rounds as a silver.
I think cash loss on teamwipe should be added maybe to a 20% deduction instead of 30%. Still need to experiment more of the changes, but I do like the way how the new changes discourage camping and ratting, since it actually matters more now getting a box into a cashout. Regardless itās going to be impossible to please everyone since there are different play style that respond better to pre changes or worse with pre changes and vice versa with post changes.
Oh and getting 500 per kill feels good. Makes the kills feel like they matter more.
Thatās true @wanton vigil, but as someone pointed out a while ago, it does give the 1st and sometimes 2nd place team (and now that I think about it, almost all the teams) that there is absolutely no consequence to griefing other teams, or just pushing as a third party for no reason

Competitive in the sense of FPS doesnāt mean is everyone in the lobby able to win at any one moment. It means is skill being promoted above all else. The third period of a hockey game is basically eliminated all the time if the lead is big enough. They donāt start the third period 0-0 just because the better team stomped the worse team and they donāt lower the better teams score so the other team can catch up. The entire game matters, not just the last period. Thats exactly what these new changes introduced and thatās why itās more competitive.
I donāt disagree that itās less fun or exciting but those two things arenāt relevant when discussing competitive balancing. Competing and winning is meant to be where the fun comes from.
What you described with hammers ājolting forwardsā is the melee aim assist or the hammer user sliding. What you also described with hammer isnāt a phantom strike/hit but the hammer having a lingering and slightly disjointed hitbox on the slam. Phantom strikes are a completely different and advanced piece of tech.

One team of 5 tries to extract successively higher amounts of cash, with every increment coming with a steep increase in number and difficulty of enemies. They could even call the mode "The Heist". Enemies could be Vaiiya enforcers while the players try to extract as much as possible for the CNS.

It seems like everyone is using different definitions of competitive.
Generally competitive in FPS means that the outcome of a match is due to a skill gap where the best players win. This is why cashout was removed from ranked - because too many flukes happened and third party was OP.
A lot of people are saying these new changes are making the game less competitive just because theyāre seeing more lopsided final scores. Thatās because thereās almost no SBMM so the skill gap is now really showing itself, not because the new rules arenāt competitively balanced. The best players are dominating and you canāt pull some fluke steal while other teams fight.

Even most competitive games don't tend have a considerable stretch of their match time where victory is impossible. Even if you earnestly believe that less volatility is good for this game (although at this point I kind of doubt that the kind of person who genuinely gets upset when they get "frauded" at the last cashout will be pleased with these changes forever as 3rd partying is still very strong and present, and they'll be asking for 2 team ranked cashout or something sooner or later) there still needs to be more tweaking so you don't have people waiting to lose or waiting to win as often. If there's no chance for a comeback I'd rather the round just end, regardless of which side of that I'm on. To me killing time waiting for the win isn't a reward, it's a waste of my time.

Yeah it feels like tdm with extra steps now tbh, I have a good amount of āgame senseā and have a decent amount of hours in game, but my aim isnāt amazing. I used to still rack up high kill games by playing tactically, and every match felt exciting and I was addicted. Now I feel like the game is kinda boring because thereās no real strategic aspect without the team wipes and itās just a ffa. Iām always hopeful that embark will listen to its community and if they donāt completely revert the team wipe penalty I hope they at least make it 20-25%. Just played a WT match where the new no wipe does sorta make sense. 1st was not possible but 2nd had about 24k and us in third had 19k. We actually stole the cashout from 2nd place with a minute left but our team as a whole was worse we went the first 3 or so minutes with 0 kills only getting a total of 6 kills between all of use we got lucky on that steal as a 3rd party. In the old system we would have moved on and they would of lost. But we ended up losing rightly so. I do see how the penalty brings more nuanced to the game but maybe that penalty was too harsh. You already have a longer timer when team wiping. I think a happy medium might be a 10% penalty where a single team wipe won't matter but definitely multiple ones will

i donāt even know where to start. for a little bit of background my friend called my phone when the beta was out and got me into the finals (played since the start of the beta) i watched this game grow and the devs listen to everything that everyone is saying up until s2. they dropped terminal attack which nobody really asked for (no offence) and everyone kind of shrugged it off thinking you guys are just trying to make another quick play game mode and some people were fuckin with it but not everybody was. which kinda shouldāve been a hint. s3 comes around and yāall snap by adding new gadgets, guns specializations and on top of that you guys took out the most important game modes in the game. even the people who play ranked terminal attack complain about the new season. my point behind this message is yāall are absolutely cooking this game completely. first cashout ranked gets removed then for the very few people that still play cashout yall add a bunch of new cashout changes (big one being no team wipe penalties) and now nobody wants to play anymore. the game was known for 2 things and those being: 1. anything can be broken. 2. you are never in a losing position. first place (33k) has a active stacked cashout and second place has 32k if you were to team wipe 2nd place last second u could win without grabbing the cashout that everyone is camping and looking at. that wasnāt a good example but u get what i mean. itās a pointless update and the smart players with decent game sens donāt get rewarded for much anymore. nothing feels rewarding anymore and i donāt think a emerald skin will change that. bring back the normal team wipe penalty in cashout, put kills back to 200 and give us ranked next season for cashout again.

I like that they're using world tour to experiment with Cash Out and hopefully use that to experiment with other modes. S4 should most certainly have CO and TA as competitive modes.

I personally really like it now because it makes third partying much less annoying. I've been winning far more matches now becuase of pure skill rather than a team slipping in a win last second

I like @uncut imp have been playing the finals since winning the lottery on the first day of the first closed beta. I've put A LOT of time into this game, and no matter what, for every hour I've played the **only ** time you are guaranteed to lose is the last 5 seconds of the last cashout. I have pulled off 4th -> 1st comebacks with 7 seconds left, gotten a wipe that put my team in 2nd by a single dollar, and so much more. I have loved this game because no matter what you could get yourself in a winning position either by luck, skill, or strategy. This update ruined that. the fact that wipes mean nothing and kills are worth so much just made it a destructible hardpoint game. When I play light I average 14-18 kills a game, which is $7,000-$9,000. The top end of that is worth more than the first cashout now. So the entire strategy of the game has turned into play light, get vaults in the cashouts and then just go for kills until the new vaults spawn. No incentive for team play, no incentive for defense, barely any incentive to play cohesively, medium and heavy are basically useless now, utility is just for fun. No point in rezzing teammates or staying alive now either for anything more than a time advantage on a vault. If you manage to get 5-6 vaults in cashout boxes, without even trying to defend you will make $25,000-$32,000 alone. That in most games easily puts you in 1st or 2nd. The ability to win games because you pulled off some crazy play is just pretty much gone. This update has completely ruined cashout as even slightly competitive game mode. The last 8 games I played, just to try to prove my hypothesis wrong I got into the finals by **JUST ** putting vaults into cashouts. My team and I in several games, didn't even try to defend, as there is no point. Lets calculate a single game with no teamwipes. [Vaults $3,000x2+$5,000x1+$7,000x2] +[Kills $3,000+$4,500+$1,500] = $34,000 - with zero attempts to try to play the cashouts. How is this fair embark?
WT feels so different. Idk how to explain it. But everyone is so aggressive, there are less 1 on 1 fights with teams, third partying happens so frequently. I don't like these changes. Teams will just grief for the fun of it because they know they won't lose cash. I want to go back to the way it was. No 30% at the begining of the cashout, team wipe penalties need to come back.
Forcing players to play Terminal Attack as a Stage contract feels awful. It's not rewarding. I'm not enjoying any of the matches. Having evenly split teams feels like the exception rather than the default. The pacing of TA isn't something I want to do. But I feel like I have to do the contract.

3 people leave my TA ranked team. I canāt win, I canāt forfeit, I canāt leave without taking a punishment, all I can do is kill myself at the beginning of every round to speed the process up. At the end of it all I still lose rs even though it was a 2 man team for a majority of the game.
I was wondering about the strategy of just putting in vaults and moving onto kills and then putting in the next vault. I finally wound up with 2 lights, and with the portal, its an insanely viable strategy. Vault 1 > usually not 3rd partying. Wipe the team, put the vault in. Go 3rd party other cashout. Strategically wipe yourselves while the other 2 fight as the cashout wraps up. Spawn near next vault. Repeat.
Its really bad.
I preferred world tour before the changes, with the exception being the amount you get when you deposit the box. Kill reward is too much, and no team wipe penalty defeats a lot of good things.
Also vault spawn locations are somehow worse than before
they just need to start listening to us or add a separate game mode that they can experiment with instead of using the game mode that the game itself is known for and ruining the name behind it. itās honestly frustrating seeing how the game is now but i just hoooope they start listening to us again and redo everything the way it was before itās too late. fortnite did the same thing and now itās just kids that play it
I mean, they're called "contracts." Are there examples of contracts in games not feeling grindy? I do think they need long-term contracts, maybe rebranded into "accolades" for gameplay mastery like 5,000 kills with fire or something. Similar to Halo Reach?

The problem with balancing around pros, sweats, etc. is that they are either freaks of nature or cheating.
So they cite TTK stats because they have laser aim and all that shit, while they rest of us deal with the reality of the weapons.

I think it would've been wise to make this an experimental LTM instead of an immediate change to the main cashout mode pushed right after announcing it. I know it is an experiment and subject to change, but it feels much more severe when the main cashout gamemode is suddenly vastly different without any alternative present.
I'll repeat what a few others have iterated- there's more 3rd partying than ever, there's way more mindless aggression, and the tension of a reversal always being possible is largely absent. I understand that a lot of comp players want to win more consistently, but this doesn't feel like an effective way of making that possible while maintaining what makes the game fun.

I like the changes as far as the 30/70 reward, but no team wipe reduces possible strategies when trying to comeback. Having no way to reduce a teamās cash makes comebacks so much harder.
Iāve also been third partied so much more since we started. People having no punishment for team wiping has made it more effective to push as aggressively as possible and team wipe quickly as to get back in to the game to do it again.

Gonna be honest, hard to take Embark seriously when the exact opposite of their intentions happens. They actually thought they reduced 3rd partying huh. Nothing but 3rd parties at all moments. This is just awful dude, the game feels bad on all fronts now. There's no tension, its just a clusterfuck of fuckin RPGs, dashing swords and daggers, 3rd and 4th party grenades coming from everywhere, glitch mines everywhere. Embark you need to seriously considering firing the game director. For real.
Buff Dematerializer and Jump Pad.
Dematerializer: Buff to dematerialization area of effect so that it's impossible to dematerialize a wall into another, immediately adjacent wall or object.
Jump Pad: The Jump Pad works INSTANTLY and doesn't have an initial cooldown.
Also buff the Cancel Queue button. Currently, pressing the button has a chance of it simply not working and putting you into a game instead. Fix this please.

honestly can second this almost, like, its almost like the person who is making the changes has no idea what the game is like from the players perspective.
The original concept seems well designed, and had many caveats to create an amazing experience.
simply put
-if you win the first box you have gained the first half of an advantage. if you win the next box you are guarrenteed to qualify unless you get teamwiped
-if you lose the first box, you still have a chance to qualify if you get the second box, but you will have to not make a mistake on the 3rd box.
-if you lose the first and the second box, you can still qualify from the 3rd box, but may have to win by a team wipe.
as much as people complain about 3rd partying, if you gain both of the first boxes, you can still lose to a 3rd box or by teamwipe.
the same can be said about the second boxes.
there is a basic 3 part system where any team can win at any of the 3 checkpoints and that makes it simple but good.

teamwipes which is a core part of the 3 checkpoint system is removed, almost completely removing the core flow of the game. who decided this?
the cash from kills is boosted to further imbalance the core gameplay and make it so its more focused on getting kills rather than the objective focused game which obviously alot of work was put into to design. the numbers were perfectly balanced before to make for very close calls if the sbmm did its job properly.
the time to steal increase doesnt change much gameplay except making it harder for people to steal under pressure, removing a core steal strategy from the game, to take while two teams are hurt while fighting for the box. It also actually hinders a team from being able to win on the most important box, the likely game changing one, the 3rd box. on the 3rd box worth 22k, it is almost guaranteed that if the box is planted, due to the time on the timer, that there will be all 4 teams coming for it, making it actually one of the most challenging times to clutch in a game. It makes sense as well, that if you win the first two boxes then you have secured an advantage and won during the easy part. but if you have lost then you still have a chance to win, but it will be more challenging to do so.
the teams you fight on the 3rd box are likely teams that have already beaten you, so it is a last hail mary attempt to secure a top 2 placement, and thats why its crucial that this part of the game is well balanced. and it was, making it possible for people to make the plays needed to go for a last second steal with only 5 seconds left on the match timer.
removing teamwipes not only directly removes the chance to qualify from a 3rd box, and the change to the timer makes it even harder to win at an already hail mary attempt to qualify.
all of these changes are directly obtuse to the system that was created. its completely backwards from the core game.
I understand taking feedback from the community, but this feedback (and many related feedbacks in the last 6 months) have been from people who didnt understand this system and you listened to their feedback. What i dont understand is how we have mixed up feedback about bugs with feedback that (in short) was a lack of understanding of the game that is clearly very well designed. Somebody has to have spent hours doing the math to make sure that 10k divided by 3 plus 15k divided by 3 etc. etc. and worked out the possible scenarios so that we have the numbers we have. theres no way that was an accident.
So the real question is, what is going on where somehow an executive decision was made that the actual core design of the game be thrown out and dulled to the point that it no longer functions as intended. many of these decisions are very clearly not made by the same person or people who designed the original game.

you are very on point with the 3 check point system where before you were able to win at every stage of the game with a few mistakes.
And that is how it should remain.
I think they shud make kills worth 250 and add a team loss deduction around 15-20%
I also think they are throwin ideas out mid season to see how we react and play thru till season 4.
They did something right by making kills worth more but made a mistake by removing team wipe cash loss.
And also adding 1 second to steal time is just an insult to injury? there was no reason to do that!
The amount of time we almost get a steal and are short by miliseconds or round ending was enfuriating as is!

Reading the patch notes on the last one I was a little worried about the changes. Ngl.
Thought it was gonna be a lot of Lights running around constantly looking for picks and vault placements. Also the adjustment towards tdm felt a little astray at first.
Prior to 3.6 Cashout had a lot more capacity for macro strategy. Looking at the cash numbers was always the first step to optimizing a path of action. Part of me definitely misses this.
The macro strategizing is significantly nerfed, and the whole concept of calculating where to position based on the immediate cash and factoring team wipe.
However after due hesistance, I must admit I actually really like this switch up.
The rounds definitely feel more dynamic to play. Without the inhibition of a teamwipe penalty there is every reason to rush faster tactical plays.
I also like the Vault box going in, this adds a whole new dimension of how to get cash.
There is also now soft compensation for those cycling pit fights which used to be irrelevant for winning.
Also the last minute no longer really has any sort of "endgame" phase like before. You can just keep fighting and fighting without worrying about the teamwipe penalty .
I only run with WT with at least 1 other party member and frequently 3 stack. Having a team is the only way to play. Talk about what youre doing and where youre going.
if the cash loss on team wipe returns, can you please add an indicator as to how much cash you'll have after a team wipe.
What if Cash Out had a Headhunter type of adjustment, where the team in the lead is the only one prone to cash loss on team wipe?

Glitch mines can be quite annoying, especially when you're running dash. It'd be nice if there was a way to see the range of these mines, even if it's not super easy to see in combat or very apparent.
Embark find a new game director and formulate an actual roadmap like a normal studio. If you have an internal one, throw it out. Institute a public test server. Stop experimenting on a live game.
Hey embark just had some thoughts I wanted to share that I think would make the game more fun. I really like the idea of live events however I really love the idea of live events having a full effect on the way the players play the game for a full 2 minutes. We see this with low gravity and sometimes orbital lasers, however the other live events donāt really affect the game. Yes they are really cool but I would like to see more affect. I feel like MEGA DAMAGE should allow for weapons to destruct and make walls easier, for example someone playing F CAR can now make small holes in the wall while this event is active.
Here are some live events Ideas I came up with that would change the way the game is played:
STICKY SITUATION: similar to dead go boom whenever someone is killed the explode into pieces of goo that fly in different directions. It wouldnāt be too crazy since you wonāt die, but you have to watch out because you can get stuck in the goo.
Not sure what to call this one but a live event in which whenever someone is being shot they are slowed down.

I have 0 sadness when getting killed by rpg. I can bait and manipulate humans, but not AI aimbot true track turrets.
When you sneak they see you where no human would, when you juke they track you like no human could.

Absolutely hate the latest changes to world tour. No penalty for a team wipe meant the game I just played was unwinnable for the last 2 minutes but I was still forced to suffer.
Bring back Team Wipes to World Tour. Whoever takes these decisions is very misguided. Now the games feel like a slog with unranked teammates in GOLD 1, knowing you can't win due to the cash changes and having to sit for 2 minutes with this knowledge. World Tour was the only good mode in THE FINALS and now it's also atrocious.

i come from almost exclusively playing Quick Cash with my homies so the new Cashout changes arent all too special to me. im used to all the chaos, third partying and light-only teams already.
but it's best to me that that playstyle stays in Quick Cash.
maybe the team wipe penalty was too harsh according to some but there needs to be something to motivate my team not to die.
Tokens have lost their meaning for the most part as you can just tell your last remaining teammate to go kamikaze and come back as a full squad later.
The spawn locations are a welcome change. big fan of the almost-immediate action.

Almost certain all the issues i have with this game come from the strange matchmaking. Going solo is (mostly) easier than 2 stacking, but 3 stacking is also easier?? Melee weapons have been having big hit reg delays too, including winch ( i have good internet). Games feel tighter with the recent changes, winning encounters is arguably more rewarding and losing encounters now feels less hopeless for cash and time. Money distribution at the end is also more balanced, so it's still tense. Idk what people are upset about. Ttk is too short w out a healer in this game for cash penalties.
Have a way to decrease graphics since my Xbox even with low storage and good internet canāt take it anymore
450 hours, S1 and S2 diamond. these changes just make me sad. the whole reason this game was such a breath of fresh air was the excitement of all the skill, strategy and luck plays you could use to pull off a last second win. removing one of the major elements that made the finals great in the first place is not the right move. as others are saying, theres generally much less tension and way more third partying. my group was already playing way less this season with the ranked change, but now we'll have even less motivation to play now that world tour is even more frustrating and boring than before.

Iāve really only seen negative feedback surrounding the changes to cash out so I want to put my take on here. I donāt really interact in this server at all.
The team wipe penalty removal is a good change. I had a game today where my team cashed out, we just wiped an attacking team while down a player, and the opposing two teams rolled up and wiped us. There is nothing you can do in that situation. Third partying is an inevitability in this game mode, and having these scenarios affect your standing and chances of moving on was not a great part of the cashout experience.
I do think there should be some punishment for wiping, but I donāt think it should be cash related.
lots of tourneys end with 3 or more tokens on each contestent, maybe take a token on team wipe.

I will say one thing: I've been crapping a lot about ranked TA. But I did want to let the devs know that I appreciated them making changes that fixed my problems from last season. There were really frustrating times when I'd almost win tournaments and then lose rank despite me playing really well for 40 mins straight. Heck, there was even a time I won and still lost one arrow. But now that isn't an issue anymore -- the amount of rank I get in a game does feel much more balanced than it used to. Ty devs, I know your job isn't the easiest, especially in this industry. I'm a mobile dev and customer feedback can be brutal sometimes; I can only imagine what it's like for a video game.

light has 3 specs, two of which arent dash. Stun and winch have the same range and is a boring stun mechanic in of itself. Dash doesnt help the light if the heavy has an sa12 or if the heavy has any teammates near them. Both medium and heavy dont have reliable ways of escaping winch either. If you arent playing like a moron it is just a win condition on a 13 second cooldown
Honestly yeah they need to rework customization, let us make loadouts and outfits, and select them separately from each other. Then you can make player made outfits, and maybe even share your drip in game. Also don't limit the slots for this, it makes no sense for there to be limited slots for customization, it just means people will buy less shit since they have less places to use it yk
EDIT: like an in game sharing tool where people can browse and see fits, and see what's in them so they can copy it or mod it. Also a tool to try out a fit with stuff I don't own so I can see how pieces I don't own go together

Stun if played correctly is an easy counter. Iāve been killed many times to a light with stun. Dash can be a counter if used directly after a claw. I can agree medium has no counter, but heavy has an equal chance of winning unless they have a hammer. If they have an hammer then clawing them actually makes it worse cause you bring them closer to you. It really comes down to load out choices

I never denied that stun is a counter, I said that stun itself is boring and needs reworks. Again, dash does nothing if the heavy has an sa12 or has a team with him. Clawing a heavy with a hammer is stupid and very easy to never do, however if you are playing sledge and winch another sledge heavy you will always win the fight unless that heavy also winches you.

After I saw the latest changes made to the CASHOUT game mode I really really think they should go back to Ranked Cashout it will be sooooo great after the latest changes!!!!!!!!!!
The person above me is wrong. I need to say that the world tour mode is getting hard to enjoy, I think the crux of my criticism is that this game mode is just a worse cashout in every way. There is nothing in world tour that is more interesting, fun, or exciting. I will be getting the base rewards because they look cool and then never touching this crap again. I enjoy terminal attack far more than this.
What makes it a "worse cashout"?
- No way to swap your build if you are hard countered, not even reserve options (no good competitive game does this, you can always re-spec or swap options in the middle of a game to adapt to your enemies. CS, Overwatch, Rainbow 6, Dota, Apex, Call of Duty)
- Somehow the game feels even more 3rd party heavy. This could be because of reason 3.
- Team wipes happen more often because the penalty is gone and people are less afraid to throw, meaning I am stuck doing nothing (especially when I cant swap weapons or gadgets) MORE often.
- This game is a COMMITMENT and you cant just leave whenever you want, even if you are on a 4th place team that has a total of 1k damage and 20 deaths after 10 minutes, and you just want to be done already.
Casual cashout is currently the best mode in the game and it is all your fault. Terminal attack feels SO much better than world tour currently.

Team wipes absolutely need penalty again, tokens have no meaning as you can just have the last person due with no drawback. Third parties are more frequent than ever as there is no penalty and now you get $500 a kill, if anything third partying is rewarded just for the sole factor of more cash alone.
Spawning so far away is also a pain in the ass! If you get team wiped in the final round then good luck getting back to the cashout in time lmao.
Lastly if youāre going to have a team with 2 or 3 of the same class they should be forced to use different gadgets. Mediums with triple turret is abysmal to deal with. Youāre fighting a fucking firing squad with 3 turrets that never miss! If you donāt have any different gadgets to use then tough luck learn to use different classes or learn to play with different gadgets.
Thats what I'm saying if you can have three of the same class you should be forced to use each gadget or just force them use light medium and heavy like the games intented

I donāt think stun needs a rework. My argument is that it comes down to load out choices. Thats what makes a game balanced, some classes counter others while others counter others. Claw can be countered by some classes while other classes counter stun.

The penalty for wiping should be a flat amount that increases every time your team wipes. It should also only be able to take 50% of your total max and should choose the lower amount.
Example:
Your wipe penalty has at $8,000, and you have $10,000. If you wipe, it will only take 5,000 because it caps at 50% of your max.
If your wipe amount is $8,000 and you have $50,000, it will take $8,000 when you wipe because it is below 50%.
50% is a large amount and could be tweaked but I think the base idea would fix the problem with wiping entirely
After testing the cashout update for good:
increasing the reward for each kill, now it feels rewarding as it should be
giving 30% of vault cash to the team that starts the cashout, this way incentivizes to play the objective
huge NO to removing penalties on team wiping, this way there's no strategy at all and everybody play for kills

I also think that machine guns have become little used, the heavy one is now played only with close-range weapons, either make the weaponās recoil a little less or add a little damage, the machine gun cannot be used at long distances. I like this idea. I think team wiping a team should have some punishments for that team. I havenāt like the negativity at all. This game has been an amazing fps game for me, and as a longtime Battlefield fan, I instantly got hooked to this game. We got to give it to the devs for being open about their changes AND asking for immediate feedback, because they love their game too! And want to make it the best version that it can be.
I was referring to the idea of scaling the TW penalty. Like @upper citrus said, 50% would be the max and is just an example, it could be tweaked it to be less severe in the late game. I'm not saying it's what we'll do, but it's interesting to think about.

But it's already escalable when its a percentage isn't it? I like the percentage because the better you are in that match the greater the risk (because preasumably you will have more money in some part of the round). And that, at the end of the match is what did all the strategic movements. I don't see any diferrence when the first wipe is a 10% and the next one is a 20%. I think don't have it is bad for the game, idk if 30% was too much. But I definitely would leave it as a percentage. It was a balancing point that I liked. And also a tension point of the game.

I think that the recent changes to address third-party don't tackle the core issue: player expectations. In a game where more than two teams compete simultaneously, third-party involvement is inevitable. The root of the frustration is originated from the current cashout mechanics allowing for two concurrent cashouts. Players generally expect each team to engage equally, leading to scenarios of 3vs3 + 3vs3. However, when 2 teams decide to try to steal the same cashout, such as 3vs3vs3 + 3vs0, it appears unfair to some, despite being a legitimate strategy within the current mechanics.
I think the solution lies in combining cashout and quick cash mechanics. Specifically, keeping the cash bonus/malus from cashout but reducing the number of teams in cashouts from 4 to 3 and having only 1 active cashout at a time, as in quick cash. This ensures third-party involvement is a given, eliminating complaints about interference. Teams would need to strategize for combat against two other teams, always staying alert and ready to regroup&reset if caught off guard or outnumbered.
Third-part is not something negative. It actually adds variety and depth to the gameplay, distinguishing it from typical one-team vs one-team games. It's just the expectation that need to be fixed
My take on recent cashout changes is they are good. Many complain about no penalty for team wipe, but imagine if you protect last cashout of the game, when there is only one, and 3 teams are trying to steal... there is no way to not be wiped if 9 players are against you.

Removed all party wipe penalties: This change is not a good one, in my opinion. This change aimed to reduce third parties, but it has the opposite effect. Previously, if a team had significantly more cash, they were semi-safe since the Cashout only gave a certain amount. A viable strategy was to team-wipe the top team for a fighting chance, prompting the leading team to hide. Now, without penalties, the top team has no reason to avoid fights and can join every battle, increasing the likelihood of third parties, especially with only one Vault planted.
What initially attracted me and my friends to The Finals was that it didn't require being the best FPS shooter. You didn't need top-tier aim to reach the top 500; strategy and team coordination were key. With slightly above-average aim, my trio squad managed to made it to the top 500 simply by using strategy and coordination.
Please don't turn The Finals into just another FPS game. Maintain the strategic elements that give strategists an equal chance to compete with top-tier aimers.

It scales but in a different way. This idea is specifically about scaling it based on how many times you TW, instead of based on how much $ you currently have. This means teams aren't overly punished for wiping one time just because it happens near the end of the match, but are still discouraged from being reckless and wiping repeatedly. We may very well keep it as a percentage, though, we will have to see. We have other ideas we're discussing internally, but it all hinges on how this plays out over this rotation and what the data says (in addition to community sentiment).

Love reading this, Love the direct communication and sharing of potential ideas, I really hope yall can find a middle ground that punishes people for wiping late, but also heavily discourages throwing yourself at cashouts early like people have done before due to the oppressiveness of 22k boxes

The 7s steal is odd but I understand the approach and we can get used to that. the wipe Change exclusively is what has shifted a lot of focus in cashout away from macro play and towards full sending everything. really hoping yall find a healthy approach to penalizing teamwipes without 22k boxes becoming overly oppressive again!
It makes sense that if you are wiped just one time at the end of the match dosen't have that big punishment. I feel like we all are trying to balance something that it was already working, every move have always a negative point somewhere. This is an excellent point, though I think the 4 teams dynamic is a bit too endearing to forego at this point.
Sometimes the "one team cashes out scot-free" situation can be accidental though, because contestants are not going to know who's at which cash out and they might jump into a fight between two teams. That can make the game quite boring for the team who's defending against no one and unfair to the other three.
Other times one cashout can be too far along for there to be enough time to steal it and so there's no other choice than to go 3v3v3 on the remaining cashout that has more time.
Side note: I think the quick cash games actually run for longer than cash out games or at least that's how it feels. Something about cash out just feels quicker or maybe it does really run for less time.
I think shifting to a 3 team cash out is too outlandish of a change, maybe Embark could test it out with a limited time event.
As for the update: Most things are fine and good except the team wipe penalty which is a divisive change. $500 kill reward? Magnificent considering contestants splatter into coins when eliminated. 30% cash box insertion reward? Grand, encourages fighting for vaults and boxes.
But the team wipe penalty being removed? Double edged sword, changes the flow of the game a whole lot. Not better, just different. This encourages players to be bolder and more aggressive but also the top team of a game to just disrupt the other 3 and not get punished for being reckless. Before, the top team just sits back once securing the victory. You can spin it either way. Personally, I think the stakes of being the last contestant left standing makes for a better show.
The vault spawn logic is a step in the right direction too but it would be nice for more spawn logic changes like a disadvantaged team (maybe freshly wiped?) getting spawned closer to a major objective.
Also the final round should reward more cash. Yes, first team to 2 cashouts wins but just 20k? This is the crown jewel of the Finals, the last duel should be more intense, not just in terms of cash earned.

ALTERNATIVE TO TEAM WIPE PENALTY: instead of losing cash, the team that wipes you gets a percentage of your money. Discourages mindless pushing, rewards teams for fighting well. It would have to be a lower amount, like 10-20%. This replaces the current team wipe bonus.
I would prefer that team wipe comes back with the rest of the changes intact, but if Embark want to try out something different to experiment with various cashout ideas this could work š¤
Main drawback versus team wipe penalty - if you give cash bonus to the team that kills you, youāre not punished for dying but you boost another team, meaning itās easy to disrupt second place by feeding cash to the weakest team. Could be unhealthy dynamic.
I got an idea
Embark should punish players for leaving a game if it exceeds 1:30 of playing in the match give them a 5min wait time for a first time doing it and have it increse to a max of 15min wait after doing it 3 times
feedback to new changes:
the reward to starting a cashout is very good, gives incentive to play objective instead of just 3rd parting other teams, also adds more weight to dual or stacked cashout strategies
cash reward to kills is very good, rewards teams with high kill but low cashout count maybe due to constant 3rd partying from other teams. however, can allow some players to abandon objective based play in favor of kill hunting, which is negative.
no teamwipe penalty is very bad, removes a very tangible soft mechanic of the game, allow reckless plays, non thoughtout coin use and coin strategy. as it is right now, the game mode has no way to lose money, only gain. it is like the finals has inflation now because there are only ways to gain money instead of gain and loss. i have no idea what the effect of the sum of the changes will be, however I know that there will be reckless plays and possibly less teamwork and team based plays

Complained that 3rd parties are bad instead of explaining how the game worked and now thousands of people are complaining because they think its a problem while he was likely just having apex ptsd.
3rd partying isnt an issue in the finals, in a battle royale it sucks because everyone hiding then because you get into one fight everyone starts coming in from unknown locations to finish of your team.
Key word unknown, in the finals there is very limited teams, and a decent player can easily locate where each team is at any time with a small amount of map knowledge and by looking at the scoreboard.
If i had to guess thousands of people believe 3rd partying is a problem in the finals just because of how ottr complained about twitch rivals.
I think the biggest flaw of cashout now is the removal of the team wipe penalty. It balances out the wiping mechanic and works best with the coin mechanic.
I've seen a few discussions about percentage scaling, but it already does naturally.
The more money you have the larger sum you lose when wiping.
If the argument is that you want less money lost, then just cut the percentage by half or make the money lost a flat sum. ( for example $10,000)
Also, I'd mention that the other issue with what leads to third party situations is that fights that get dragged on for long periods are more likely to get targeted. Once a team wipes they used to get sent across the map, usually closer to the other cashbox. And of course players naturally go to what is closer.
So you would either have to increase dmg to help the situation or shorten timers across the board so they finish faster.
Also, depending on the situation, some teams just get avoided because they are strong. So you really can't stop third parties completely.
Please do SOMETHING to knives. Played several games where L's with knives and dash rack up 25/30+ kills. horrible to play against and boring to play with since they end up camping and you have no-one to fight. Really want this game to be fun again it makes me so sad how messy it's gotten since S2

Embark wanted feedback, so here it is:
After checking out the changes myself, I can say that the game has become much "calmer" and more straightforward. Without the team wipe penalties it's probably not as competitive as before, but in general it's a W in my book. Maybe it would be a good idea to make the penalty at least 10% instead of completely removing it, but you do you. All other economy changes only benefited the overall experience, no complaints about them whatsoever.
On the other hand, increasing stealing time to 7 seconds looks unnecessary to me, no one asked for it and it's not clear why this change was needed in the first place. It doesn't change the grand scheme of things, but still
Oh and also some gadgets still get bugged sometimes. It's pretty much guaranteed that my gateway will get bugged at one point or another during a multi-round WT game. My teammate also had his mines bugged the same way.

Initial feedback to the cashout changes:
I like the changes to deposits, I think it makes the game more aggressive and introduces more tactical choices so its not always just best to hang around and 3rd party someone as there is an urgency to getting that initial guaranteed cash and it being guaranteed is important so worth it.
Increased money for kills is good, adds some variety in effective ways of gaining cash especially in close games which seems more common now
I dislike the removal of the teamwipe penalty though, if it was thought to be to harsh I think a lesser penalty like 10 - 20% would be fine but I think you do need that dynamic of a wipe being something to avoid to add to the risk vs reward factor of the game
Overall changes are good and im enjoying it, though my request going forward would still like to see some rewards for holding the cashout for a long time even if you eventually lose it

93R will forever struggle to be viable on Light because itās actually a balanced weapon with considerable downsides on a class that dies instantly and thus needs to kill instantly, meaning excessively overtuned weapons are necessary for its viability.
Its burst nature is antithetical to the close-range playstyle and fast/dynamic movement typical of Lights. Burst fire necessitates consistent precision and misses are punished harshly. Burst weapons typically require ADS which is often a death sentence when up close with Light due to reduced strafe speed.
Therefore this weapon requires persistent skill, unlike the easy and forgiving (typically automatic) weapons that dominate the meta (on all classes).
There is also zero niche for it. M11 has close range spray, XP has close/mid range everything, throwing knives have (ridiculous) close range burst.
Give the 93R to the Medium instead, it can serve as another close range option similar to the 1887 without being massively overtuned like typical Light weapons. Again, as with the 1887, it has actual downsides and thus requires skill, so it would fit the Medium class which has enough health to survive its pitfalls.
I would also like to see further QOL buffs such as a reduction of visual recoil so as to aid mid-range combat and +3/6 to the mag.
Pls fix the matchmaking. This game is unplayable without friend: everytime i play a match with randoms, i get paired with people who downloaded the game 5 minutes before. Itās not funny for them and itās not funny for a player who plays the game since a lot of time

Sledge is incredibly powerful and needs its range downside to keep it balanced
You need to get in close first, and even if you get to someone, there is a decent chance they outrun you afterwards
Even flamethrower, which is viewed as low-skill by many, still needs to decent positioning or ambushing skills to be decently effective

Winch Claw feels amazing to use but can feel terrible to play against because it can so easily become an inevitable and inescapable death, especially for L/M classes.
WC should not be a free effective oneshot, like old Roadhog. It should be a displacement tool - for players and objects - that aids CQB but doesnāt grant it excessive power.
The best way to nerf its effectiveness against players without harming its object utility would be to prevent it from pulling players any closer than, say, 8-10m. This would give winched players the space and opportunity to more effectively fight back or flee without instantly suffering extreme damage.
It would remove the often inescapable melee/flamer death, reduce the effectiveness of the easy and extreme SA12 bursting, and make it much harder to land the final blow with the KS23. All of which are the most oppressive and frustrating elements for opposing players.
The commonly suggested nerf of reducing its maximum range would not address these oppressive aspects and would hurt its utility when it comes to objects such as cashouts, revive totems, etc.
The other common suggestion of a cast animation would also not address the oneshots and would punish the user excessively given it already takes ~1s to use, resulting in majorly negative value upon a miss. It would also change the fairly even Dash matchup into a hard counter.
This change would also allow Mesh Shield to be of some use to the winched player given some distance would be maintained between the two players, as opposed to the current iteration which is simply a hard counter.
Revert the m11 nerf
remove sniper entirely, it never fun to fight and the only 2 counter play is just bad while the 3rd is just don't peek. even if they didn't hit a single shot at all the sniper existent alone make people change their playstyle (no skill free value)
**counter play 1: ** you shoot the sniper (you die)
**counter play 2: ** forsaken your random teammate to fight 2v3 while you try to kill the sniper, and when you finally get there
your team is dead and are berating you for going on your own and guess what? the sniper grapple away and it all started

Implement a weekly rotation of (old) game modes, offering a different mode to play each week. This approach prevents long queues and avoids splitting the player base, issues that permanent game modes typically cause. Modes like Team Death Match and Guns Roulette, which don't work well as permanent fixtures due to declining popularity and long queue times, can be included. This change will also allow for more variety in challenges and other in-game activities.

I personally think it would work because it ensures that if youāre doing amazing all game, getting kills and never wiping, that you arenāt prone to losing at the end by being wiped once. And the percentage cap keeps the system from being overly punishing to players performing poorly and still gives them room to make a comeback if they pop off at the end.

Quick Melee challenges are bugged. Got the quick melee damage done in a few minutes of first match by shooting people. Same match I completed quick melee challenge with a frag grenade
The devs are fucking stupid. They really said "yeah we allow ruby players to stack with bronzes", and then fuck every single legitimate players by making people lose 1500 RS if they fight against 1 ruby 4 bronzes
They also think level 6, UNRANKED, being in ruby matches is completely normal, and not ban worthy. Every 10 ranked matches, i meet at least 8 of them unranked and cheating, and I lose 1500 RS every match.

Would it be possible to add the ability to duplicate a loadout? I know it's slightly trivial, but I would like to setup two different loadouts for Terminal Attack and World Tour. Having to go individually change the loadout, style, and emotes when first creating a loadout from default is kind of inconvenient. Not a huge deal, but would be a nice quality of life change especially for people who are recently starting the game.

I haven't played for almost 1.5 months after being disappointed with ranked and was thinking of leaving this game forever, but the news that Cashout will be returned to ranked mode in Season 4 made me come back to this game. And after I played The Finals again for 2 days in a row, I realized that I will definitely say goodbye to this game. The reasons for my leaving this RAW product are the following:
1 - Very bad servers. Maybe for someone they will seem good, but this is only because you live closer to the west, and I live in Russia, so for me such problems as poor hit registration, deaths behind the wall, teleportation up and down when I climb a ledge are considered quite normal
2 - Indifferent attitude towards players who play M and H classes. I noticed that the developers are never going to buff the Medium and Heavy classes, but they will lick the Light class from all sides so that the little kids who came to this game could kill half the server without any problems, while playing Brawl Stars. If in the second season, playing for the Heavy class with M60 I can kill L, M, H or H, H, M with 1 clip, now I can't even kill M with one clip. The same with AKM. + besides, the first problem hasn't gone away.
3 - Removing Cashout from the ranked mode and shoving TA in its place and continuing to talk nonsense about Cashout being considered the main direction for The Finals, I think is the height of idiocy. If you go down this path, then your target audience will be no more than 12 years old. So you definitely won't make enough money to cover at least a couple of seasons. Bring back everything this game was famous for during the CBT and then your audience will be 20-25+ years old. And that means people will throw money at your game just to buy a new skin or a battle pass. I am living proof of that. I am 25 years old and I spend money on this game because I like it. But the path the developers have chosen will lead this innovative project to the grave.

this is what ive been saying, heavy has always been the more attractive option for noobs and low skill players to begin with, but adding winch just gave all those terrible sledge players who have no game sense, map knowledge or good positioning an easy button.

Nerf Winch Claw. Currently, as a Medium, a Winch Claw is equivalent to an INSTANT KILL with NO COUNTERPLAY. This is unfair and uncompetitive.

Ok so here are the changes i'd do:
- Nerf AK-M's damage so it doesn't nullify any sense of health in the game
- Nerf the rifle of the light too
- Lower the recharge cooldown for dash
- Bugfix the throwing knives so they don't randomly go through the enemy and make sure that both knives do damage as expected.
- Nerf the bow's ability to one-shot when not fully charged
- Rework the winch claw so it doesn't result in a one-shot kill without the victim being able to defend himself.
- Fix the sledgehammer a bit so it doesn't one-shot people miles away while the animation hasn't hit yet.
- Fix the gas, fire and mine hitboxes. RIght now you can die to a fire shot very far from you, or a mine that hasn't even being thrown to the ground yet.
- Bugfix the stupid HUD, more often than not, waypoints will disappear without reasons and worse, sometimes the HUD will blatantly lie to you and don't tell you if your point is actually captured or not.
- Fix the respawn system so it doesn't transform the game into a boring walking simulator due to idiotically spawning you at the opposite of the map.

Most posts in here arenāt particularly detailed or constructive and this channel is frequently used for angry venting or memes; the post above yours is literally just āfartā. Also people still constantly argue/discuss.
Anyone tasked with sifting through here (if anyone is) will have to waste so much time looking at unhelpful rubbish and when they do find actually constructive feedback it will be unfocused and separate from other feedback on the same issue.
For some reason Embark has no official presence on the Reddit, a site far better suited to discussions and thus feedback, despite a few of their employees being seen in the comments occasionally. This disincentivises its use as people believe Embark wonāt see anything posted there.
There are also no Embark forums to my knowledge and Steam Discussions is similarly seemingly devoid of official presence.

I have played a couple games now and canāt count the number of times on my hand where I was like.. bro Iāll just double stack this and win because Iām in first and I canāt lose money. Honestly giving 30% to the team who has the cashout currently might work. This would almost completely remove stacking unless itās an absolute must!
This is far fetched but you can also revert the overtime back to 60 secs if someone deposits the cash in overtime. This would mean you can fight those teams who gaurd vaults at the end and still make it to cashout with time to steal. Would make the team holding cashout disadvantaged but I think itās warranted since itās overtime (but also they would get that 30% cash bonus I mentioned earlier!) They would have to just try to prevent the deposit. Goo would be good for this

We used to have a lower cooldown in feedback channels and we've cycled through a few different models. Indeed some of the feedback even if it looks usable, sometimes is not, but feedback is filtered and overall appreciated, even the rambling/negative ones and it doesn't look as disconnect as you'd think in a spreadsheet per example. Different opinions are bound to generate heat, however we appreciate a good discussion and both sides of the coin as feedback.
Reddit is not moderated or run by us, despite sometimes us being there for discussion. The feedback and posts there also of course matter and are taken into consideration, especially when they bleed onto Discord and Steam
Lastly for Steam, it's a stealthier approach, mainly with the threads discussing the same topics there's not much room for much however the real feedback there is collected daily and processed, including moderating and removing the most toxic people.

Balancing is so terrible that even the sweatiest of players stop playing.
Going off of my earlier post, I think if Embark want to remove cash wipe penalties, then respawn coins per match should not grow as you play tournament/world tour and instead be capped at 2. With no cash wipe penalty, it makes more sense to team wipe so you can all respawn faster. At final round of World Tour itās incredibly rare for a team mate to not have 4 coins, making dominant play not matter and teams always rush. Making respawn coins have a cap at 2 still make team wipes feel punishing in terms of strategy without changing cash balance.
Of course, if you spend all your coins and go down to zero, it still grows by 1 the next match. It wouldnāt reset to 2 every match

It's not about nerfing the medium, but about balancing the game, some weapons just do way too much damage for the amount of health any class has in the game.
I'd be in favor of buffing say the R357, the double swords or the shield.
And in the same vein, for the light, i'd be fine with a nerf to the XP-54, the bow or M11.

About the dash nerf, yeah it should be reverted since dash had no issues in the past, it doesn't achieve anything other than making the dash absent in some scenarios where you would have needed it. It didn't cause any balancing issues with how it worked. You should indeed focus on making actually meaningful changes to promote more skill-based weapons and reducing the amount of unbalanced weapons instead.

Like cheaters are nothing new, pretty much every F2P competitive game which rely on client-side snake oil has that issue. Fortnite, Valorant, The Finals...
My solution is simple, ditch EAC, stop trusting the client too much and only send data which can be used by legitimate players, to solve wallhacks. Just have a proper server-side anticheat.
Aimbots are more tricky but can be dealt with some behavioral analysis.
Cashout will be ranked next season again.

I can't even move, and I'm dead: Cheaters, Sweats, Pack of 3 people vs randoms, afks due to glitches (it happened to me twice), long queues +5mins; because guess what NO ONE likes World Tour!!! onlysweats and Twitch streamers with humanized 2k dollars aimbots. Uninstalled, waiting for Season 4.
Good perspective, I think decreasing the distance that it pulls people could be a good change. That way a kill is less guaranteed, particularly for melee weapons. And it doesn't really affect the utility at all.

I am only posting my stats to give an idea of my dedication to this game and to further illustrate my point. I have 811 Hours Playtime under Statistics tab (1510 in Steam hours although I know that doesnt count like actual Playtime). 5155 matches played. I love this game, but I am just at a point I need, not want, to move on. The cheaters have ruined it for me for good at this point.

This is in contrast to traditional forum discussions in which you can follow chronological discussion on a specific issue, and where each consecutive poster is likely to be aware of and thus informed by the preceding opinions, allowing a mounting consensus to form over time.
There also remain the problems of whoeverās job it is to look in here having to waste great amounts of time sifting through rubbish, collecting feedback on the same issue manually rather than it being naturally posted together as in a traditional forum topic, and it being highly unlikely that every single post in here is actually seen (and a massive waste of time if they are).

Day 126 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.
- 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored four bullets every second, 50 seconds for a full reload.
- 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
- Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, youāre probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
- bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)

Please please please I don't care if it causes clipping or something weird just make the changes on a skin to skin basis and not based on whether the skin has a model change or not. Like the fine print skins should be able to (I had the exact same issue) but the ray gun prolly should be locked to its anims. I'm actually quite enjoying the changes so far. It does feel like there's some work to do, perhaps money gained from kills can't be lost, but money from cashouts can or something like that.
Overall I feel like getting consistently teamwiped doesn't kill my chances of winning or qualifying later in the round, so long as my team is still getting some kills. Games are more consistently closer, and the final cashouts are a lot tenser than they used to be.
I absolutely love that cashouts now give a percentage upon depositing, this is a great change and should 100 percent stay. In overtime I will intentionally double just to get that extra cash and get to a qualifying position.
Forcing people to play Tournaments seems like a priority for you, I DON'T WANT TO, let me play whatever the F I WANT and progress to acquire event items. It is so simple yet so difficult for you to understand that MOST of your community HATES competitive modes due to TTV+cheaters+Sweats going up against solo players. ANTI-FUN = World Tour, I skipped World Tour, didn't engage, don't want to, but if I want the Olympics skins I HAVE TO, BRUH, all the love I had for your game is dead like your numbers.

Challenges should be skill challenges, not time sinks. Forcing players to play a class, or a mode that they don't want to play, is good for literally nobody. And this is what I mean by Embark (and developers in general) don't have a clue what they're doing. Anyone can see those kind of challenges would only produce annoying matches for everybody involved on the team. Leave the sniper damage as-is, maybe extend its damage fall off a bit, but make it a projectile that has to deal with bullet travel time. Make it much faster than the bow but not hitscan. Fixes issues around sniper feeling unfair, prevents any aimbot/hacks from abusing sniper headshots, anyone cracked enough to learn it will be more respected. Still usable close range
After playing a few games i noticed that cashout tournaments became less exciting for me. I mainly play solo queue with strong focus on the objective and I donāt really care for kills in this mode.
- Itās way harder to catch up. The leading teams just can do whatever to interrupt you, because there is no punishment for them if they die. The last 1-2 minutes of a round often donāt matter, because it is rarely possible to earn enough cash to reach a top 2 spot when you 3rd or 4th.
- Cashout steals are way harder and less rewarding. The extra second is noticeable and even if you manage a sneaky last second steal, the 70% reward isnāt enough to swing the game in your favor.
- Managing respawns got dumbed down a lot. If you are the last player in the team, its mostly useful to suicide now as fast as possible. No more quick calculations if the suicide is worth it, no more sneaky stealing of the player statues for revives. The only upside is that donāt have to deal with teams camping your player statues to delay the respawns. But usually thatās the right moment to use a coin respawn.
Point 1 + 3 can easily be fixed with bringing back the team wipe penalty. This could also indirectly fix the 2nd point because then the cash gaps arenāt as big anymore.
I also noticed that people leave WAY more often now. I had leavers in 50% of my games...
As punishment for leaving your team to finish the match alone.

On the cashout changes:
-revert team wipe penalties
^now, your teamās game is basically done if you secure the first two cashouts. Nothing to lose and can 3rd party / grief all you want. With >$25k you donāt have to worry about the $22k vault going in, and it will be hard for the bottom two teams to get BOTH in to have enough to qualify with the top 2 teams protecting the vaults.
-vault change: instead of the 30% bonus for simply putting it in, make it so that you accrue cash by holding it to secure up to a certain %. You should be rewarded for holding the objective, not simply starting one, but still give the flat 2k for putting one in as an incentive
-revert the steal time. 7s is too long and allows teams to camp farther away and play time opposed to truly defending. It was fine how it was and similar to standard FPS objective times (planting, diffusing, etc)
TA changes- good change in the health pools by class, feels way more balanced š

Just thought of an idea to address the complaints about lights being able to just start all the cashout for free money: pay out the 30% money awarded for starting a cashout only once the cashout has been defended for 30% of its time. If it gets stolen before 30% completion, then the entire vault becomes available for steal.
This would still incentivize starting cashout but also require defending which will make people play it more how it should be instead of cheesing. Maybe also bump the flat dollar amount for depositing.

I've played 3 games today, 2 ta, 1 wt. World tour ended final round with a very blatant cheater, xp aimbotting walling crossmap shi. First terminal attack was against a top 20 70k+ only ruby stack (on my alt that is a 20k gold with another gold and two plats). Second terminal game had 2 rubies with an unranked cheater, crossmap sniping out of invis 15-1 boosting some ass players type shi.
Cheaters I report get banned pretty well but this game needs a stronger anti cheat because these people just keep coming back on alts without any resistance

The hood from the metro drifter set is very cool. I'd really like to see more hoods in the game but as a "headwear" piece not just "upper body"
My video settings that i picked are not active (low fps) until i open the video settings screen then my settings are apply. I have tried reinstalling and deleting all my appdata and resetting all settings to default in the game menu but still when i launch the game i get low fps until i open the settings screen then it applies my video settings and my fps returns to normal. Im at a loss of what to do, so ill leave this feedback.

Rpg just feels like free damage with little counterplay. I think you should do what you did to breach charge and c4 and make it more a destruction tool. Give it 2 shots, increase hip fire, but make it do like 80 dmg.
Lewis recoil is way to strong, it should be reverted are changed to be at least on the same level as, or better than m60 because it is heavy's only longer ranged weapon. Especially with the new map being more open, heavy needs a ranged option.
With the 93r, you've said you want to make it for headshots by having low recoil and bursts for consecutive hits, but have less damage to make up for it. This is flawed because 1) most of lights guns have low recoil anyway 2) the headshot multiplier is the same. I would make it a 2x headshot multiplier if that's your goal, or just keep leaning into what your doing now with making it a hipfire weapon.
The sights need to be changed to be more accurate. I know you probably don't want to remove the wobble and recoil animations you worked on that do make the game feel that bit more cinematic, so maybe add an option in the gun animations section for recoil and give the option between the existing one, and one where the sights are always in the centre of the screen.
Winch has little counterplay, idk how to fix. But it does need to be nerfed in some way.
Charge and slam should be changed from a specialisation that shreds through health to a positioning and approach tool. Make it do less damage but make it faster and/or last longer.
Dematerialiser doesn't work well on las vegas. Make it go through more layers on that map.
Grapple hook needs a slight range increase I think.
Cloak is inherently flawed utility. Either one of two thing happen: 1) the user is able to be undetected, can appear out of no where at will and can reposition via open areas safely, or 2) is seen and it didn't do anything. Make it like Spy.
It shouldn't be possible for players without rank to play with ranked players, there are people creating new accounts to use hacks and load other players

Throwing knives have worse ttk the the m11 and most of lights other wepons. The headshot multiplier is the same. It cannot be used at range and you have to acount for drop. Throwing Knives got so much buffs in a row in accuracy while moving, lower dispersion, higher velocity in favor to hit your shots close range even with both knives. It happens before that you just hit 1 of 2 knives often by fast moving enemies. Now you always hit with both. In summary your theoritical TTK is close to real TTK, while M11 it's the opposite because you never land 100% of your shots. TK needs more dispersion/delay between both knives so the enemy can dodge 1 knife while moving.

XP-54 offers more range=versatility, thats why. Magsize is a pain in the ass, most fights you have to reload. More Damage drop off at long range might be fair. You need to read RS___C's feedback!

You can only compare it maybe to the shotgun, but it's balanced cuz it's super close range and long reload time.
@red knot I only agree with Stun Gun - same goes for RPG, Winch Claw, Charge & Slam.
Stun Gun should block any input, but the Light has to HOLD, so he can't attack at the same time. Therefore it's a great team gadget but no 1v1 free win, like the Heavy Stuff I mentioned before.

I believe itās a good idea because I sometimes forget to change my equipment or mistakenly choose the wrong loadout.
This feature would allow us to adjust on the fly by using a respawn coin. It would also create more exciting fights as teams change equipment to adapt to other teams.
Iām not sure if a respawn coin should allow the change of a single item or a complete loadout with multiple items.ā

love this idea
most other light weapons have a slightly faster ttk, but they also have more ammo with lower damage
they require the user to aim more, account for recoil and stay on target
having a few, strong hits also makes them much more effective for quick burst damage (when you're just about to run around a corner for example)
these other weapons also carry a factor of risk, since, if you miss a lot you will need to reload, which will likely cause you to die or need to retreat, a weakness throwing knives don't have
they do lack range, at around 27 meters, shooting on eye level will cause them to hit the floor
you can increase your range by aiming higher but you rarely need to, since most fights happen in close range, into which light can get especially well
any range before that it might just cause you to whiff you headshots, but not much more
similar story with leading, at the range they are normally used in, they hit so fast it may as well not be a factor
i think increasing the delay between knives like yulaw said would be a good idea
alternatively, we could try halving their damage and doubling rate of fire, that way they need to aim and hit more (though this might also make misses less punishing, so not ideal)
i just want any change at this point, it doesn't feel good being stuck in one place for this long, especially with how many people seem to agree on this issue
When is the cyberpunk 2077 crossover event starting?
The bullet dissertation for most guns, including the xp54 is very low and with perfect aim you can hit 100% of shots. The only difference is you do this while hipfireing with the knives. My only concern with them is the crit ttk against light. Saying it's easier to hit shots with throwing knives is just false, you don't hit 100% of shots with the knives, and if you do then you can easily close to hit 100% of shots with xp54.
If throwing knives were easier and better than the xp54, they would be used more but I don't see many people using them, and most of the people that do are really good at the game and can win in spite of the knives.

There are several guns that have burst damage and don't require tracking, I don't see why it's a problem when it's applied to the throwing knives.

The team wipe 1/3 loss was TOO much, but it needs to be something - I would recommend the kills being a cash STEAL from the team you kill. So you get $500, and the team loses $500 per death. This also makes revives potentially more "expensive" and balanced since it is still by far the best gadget in the game. Plus, the idea of stealing from another team by killing them is just cool (can have some cool effects from it like the coins that spill out flow to the person who killed them), and it's not devastating, but it matters.

I really dislike the Cashout changes.
Don't get me wrong - it's still playable. It's not horrible. But it almost completely removes the gameshow feel from the mode.
There's no drama. There's no reversals of fortune. There's no combacks. Just a general inevitability as two teams pull away from the pack early, and never let go.
I was a very early Gold 1, and put a ton of time into the old mode, and have to say this just isn't that fun anymore.
The coin mechanic doesn't matter anymore because wipes hardly matter. Every team fights to the death now because the penalty is so low.
Strategies don't really matter anymore either. It's all very straightforward now. You barely have to pay attention to others teams totals. You just kill and cashout as much as you can because there's no risk anymore.
That, combined with the oppressive Light meta, is really robbing the game of its uniqueness in many ways. Too many modes are starting to feel dumbed down and TDM-like, and my group are all starting to lose a bit of interest as a result.
after a lot of games in new cashout I had to say I don't like 0 money lost for wipe and 30% of cashout for puting it into cashbox station is too much in late cashouts, 500 cash per kill is great, maybe cashbox station should give money over time of control or something like that

I would love if cash is given to the team in control of cash out, while it's happening. So maybe 500 cash per however long 1/10th of the cash out timer is, and 5000 awarded for whoever controls it when it's finished. All you'd have to do is up the match time another 10 minutes or so.

So i think everyone will agree with me in this. Devs should add a feature to swap equipment with just holding left click on the equipment icon to drag them to your desired slot, (maybe you want gear in slot 1 to be in slot 3) this can be a great time saver when you are about to begin the match, sometimes you just swap from class and have to make changes in equipment quickly.

WT now is unplayable in solo queue. It's annoying af that every team griefs another cashout because they have nothing to lose. I also think that there should only be a 30% gift if you can hold the cashout to 50% before it get stolen. Putting the vault in the cashout requires no skill. People can just grab it and run to the cashout, then wipe. Just to get that 30%.

Bank It: I like the changes they made and the influx of lights should change with class balance (I'd hope so), but Solo Bank It should make a return as well.
Power Shift: This has been a solid mode since its initiation. My main issue is predictability. There should be more possible pathways for the platform per map, and I think jump pad placement needs slight moving around. They could take this a step further with a 10v10 Power Shift (race) with two platforms, similar to Payload Race in TF2.
Quick Cash: I... I get that it's supposed to be quick, but damn, the first team to 2 cash outs feels a little too brief for me. I think first to 30k would be better.
The staff needs to be debuffed. Iāve noticed while playing as a heavy flame, when I have full health I should not DIE to someone whoās half to a quarter health with a staff. It feels almost impossible to have fun when I have teams with 2-3 heavy staffs that just kill everything in a hit or two. Itās almost impossible to play with all the weapons and actually change up your strategy when I have to go one specific strat because everyone is either going as light throwing knives or heavy staff š

I disagree. Before there was strategy and I never felt like I couldn't come back with a 22k cashout and/or wiping a team. Cash on deposit is dumb, but rewarding teams before the very end of the cashout is ideal. Like, at 50%, give 30% of the cashout. Not just for putting it in the cashout. That's dumb.

I havent seen such universal hatred for a change in a game maybe ever. This is the type of shit that kills your game in a second. Its such an unfathomably bad change. It was so obvious. Nobody that played the game thought that no team wipe penalty was a good thing, those patch notes screamed problems. And yet, they thought it would do seemingly the exact opposite of what its done. And imo, it completely hurts their credibility when it comes to making a game. They clearly have some of the best DEVELOPERS on the planet. The game, despite its flaws, is a technical marvel. Server side destruction working at all is amazing. But management? Just like all management, head up their ass, too full of themselves and honestly i'm uncertain if the people making decisions really play the game in any useful capacity.
Theyāve already acknowledged it and thrown some ideas out there. It is a bad idea to change things because of initial backlash. They need data and longer term feedback

The team wipe penalty needs to come back to Cashout tournaments. There is absolutely no way to qualify if you don't start a Cashout. I have had games where I was unable to start a Cashout at all because I kept getting third partied. And on top of that, even if I were to start a cashout, I wouldn't be able to qualify anyway because the second place team already has $30,000-$40,000. However, if there were team wipe penalties, I could wipe them, so that they now only have $20,000 and the game is still winnable. Yes there is a little less third partying, but that's because the only thing you really need to do is run to the Cashout, start it, and then wipe, with no reprocuctions.
It creates these weird moments where you really can't do anything to qualify. I thought anything could happen in the finals, but I guess last minute clutches from last place aren't one of them

Lights don't win matches that much. But they tend to get the most kills, and just make the game miserable for everyone else by turning it into Team Deathmatch.
So now it's either boring, no-strategy World Tour, or get endlessly harassed by Lights (free kills with Stun Guns, near-constant 'detected' messages) in other modes, who aren't even bothering with the objective, and serve only to punish attempts at creative play.
I feel like the game's lost a ton of joy and that gameshow feel this season. The Cashout changes and Light meta just feel like a lot of the cool creative possibilities of the game are being bled away.
Hi yall I just want to say that I really like the new cashout changes and I hope the developers stick to the no wipe penalty change. It would be best to probably make two separate modes so that so many players who enjoy the wipe penalty can play that while the rest of us play without the wipe penalty. Also, I think Embark should announce what changes they would like to bring to the game before just doing it and launching it live last minute with no notice. If Embarkās data is anything like my experience, matches are still very close at the end and itās anyoneās game when vaults 5/6 spawn - much like before. If anything Iāve seen fewer blowouts so far.
Iām not completely against a team wipe penalty but the bigger it is, the bigger crutch youāre giving to players who played poorly all game and want to catch up despite not deserving it. I want good play rewarded all match not just at the very last seconds of OT. This change does that exactly.
I'm very pleased with the WT changes. Makes vaults more important, overall performance over the course of the match more important, and still has tension unless you have a colossal lead. All pluses IMO.

But I'm on teams racking up 30k after the first cashout by depositing, leaving it, 3rd partying, still getting the 1st cashout and possibnly the 2nd cashout, all the while getting about 15 kills, or 7.5k on top of it. I'm finishing the 2nd cashout at 45k regularly now. It seems like you don'[t score a lot? Or play conservatively. 3 cracked players can now easily put 22k up in JUST kills. That is insane. You're wrong here, this is horrible design and it needs to be reverted asap.

I'm not saying the new OSTs are bad or anything like that, but I'd literally pay if I could play the S1 tracks when looking for a game or ending one. will you guys ever lower the graphical fidelity of the game or optimize it better? i run at 90fps on an RTX 3070 and R7 5800x. its probably the main thing holding this game back tbh. for example: why, on the lowest settings, is EVERYTHING moving? trees 60 miles away? swaying in the wind (leaves included). particle effects? everywhere. it kills performance and there should be a way to disable that stuff on the lowest settings

Team wipe 25s respawn on power shift when the enemy team is less than 25s away from the midpoint feels really bad. Would love to see an exception made for this at some point.
XP-54 weapon feedback. The XP-54 desperately needs a damage range fall off nerf. I don't understand why a SMG, which is supposed to be a close range gun can literally just beam people at mid range. At this point the XP-54 is basically better than ARs at range, why? It's not like Light is lacking in ranged options, a close range gun should not be so well rounded.
embark pretty please remove hitscan from sniper. it is insane that a slug shotgun that cannot be ADS'd has bullet travel, but the high damage scoped rifle is hitscan. absolutely baffling. the sniper is very unfun to play against! I also play on balanced FSR2 upscaling, and between that and the size of the sniper glint, it can be extremely difficult to aim at a sniper when they are far away, especially when they are only exposing their head. please address this!!!
Feedback RE: changes to cashout rules. I think 30% of the vault being awarded in upon depositing is a good idea that incentivizes getting the vaults into the cashout. I'll add a +1 to reinstating the teamwipe, mainly because the chang has zapped alot of the jeopardy and strategic thinking out of the game. Maybe bring it back in for "The Finals", but keep it out for the more casual "World Tour"? I dunno. I'd say keep it at 30% as well - wiping needs to be significant, both for the wiper and the wipee.
