I see them in non ranked terminal attack, i thought it was by design to fill matchmaking.
I have a video of a whole team of them on New Vegas before they killed themselves.
Another game same thing, all meduim bot team with turret and pyro,
Beginning of round they place turret then throw pyro at their own feet,
Another game (Kyoto) 1 light on our team a bot and the whole team could tell by his spamming random inupts the entire game with no sense of direction.
HE EVEN SWITCHED TO A SNIPER MIDROUND!

Took 5 minutes of inactivity for my teammate to be kicked in World Tour, you need 5 minutes of doing nothing to be considered AFK. No thought went into that, whoever designed it that way needs their head checked.
Reply: No he wasn't dead, in the same building not moving for 5 minutes, then he gets kicked.
My point is, if the player has 0 dmg, 0 deaths, 0 kills, 0 support for 5 minutes, it would make sense he's AFK

Very niche, but it would be helpful to have some sort of differentiating factor, whether a visual or audio queue, to know when you are getting a hit marker for damaging a player vs when you are hitting enemy equipment (mines) or zip lines

Currently a GL main, so this really only pertains to explosives, but sometimes I’m not sure and unless I knew my damage previously I can’t know if I hit a player or destroyed a mine/c4/motion sensor/ zipline

TA rounds should change every 2 rounds. Defending is the easiest as you can get set up on each point then just run around looking for attackers. Should not be able to defend all the way tell match point. Just make it were every 2 rounds it swaps from attacking to defending thx.

I think the ruby skin should have your leaderboard place on it, such as if ur #69 in ruby, you will have the #69 on it, just to show how limited the skin is for the top dogs of the game. Petition for this design ? I’ve already talked with over 50 people from the ruby ranks in top 500 that think this is a fantastic idea, and I’d love to run around and get signatures for this to be added to the game, such as what happened with the frog onesie. When you remove it, it not only makes the game less competitive/exciting, but it also puts teams in situations where a win may literally be impossible, based on the current cash totals. This is a major step back, considering all the other changes were solid. Please rethink this one.

not a fan of the upcoming cashout changes, particularly the removal of the team wipe penalty. it eliminates all risk of the #1 team going in to disrupt the final cashout(s) of the match. they are totally free to go in and wipe (even multiple times) with no risk of being knocked. the other money changes are fine IMO. please back out of this change. it will not be good for maintaining your playerbase.

How about this twist instead: earning money per second you hold a cashout instead of only getting the full amount for possessing it right at the end? $83/second on a 10K box, $125/second on a 15K box, $183/second on a 22K box. This would make matches much tighter since teams often steal the cashouts back and forth. Getting a cheap steal at the last 6 seconds and earning the full amount of the vault box is lame

some feedback regarding progression skins: seems like because the original is black and has "the finals" in yellow, the other higher level camos look worse because theyre just a plain color. Maybe consider adding more detail/ "the finals" to these too. Like to the yellow camo, blue, red, white etc

The game has a pretty low casual player base.
As in, everybody is so damn hardcore. Everyone is tournament focused.
When your winning in tournament/ranked it feels GREAT.
When your loosing in tournament/ranked it feels TERRIBLE.
There is not a big casual community in the finals.

Everything is team based and objective based in the finals, the modes and atmosphere kinda shuns away alot of people who just want to play a game in a casual way with friends - which is why I think they should emphasize and prioritize a "clan system" where people play together and earn Cosmetics - &&& also foster casual modes like Bank-It and a new mode I thought of called Blitz (basically The Finals styled HardPoint).

Most of the game modes in The Finals you'll find enemies running as a well oiled team, probably hard comming even in Quick Cash and you get crushed by that kind of team while your trying to turn your brain off and run solo.

If you have a team of people to play with you can Definitely do a good job, but for the other 75% of players who just want a tight game to play with a game mode where you can be rewarded for kills and not just strats.

Anyways, I think embark needs to work on advertising Bank-It, making it better for casuals, or drop new modes for people who wanna just kill & destroy shit and waste time and most importantly HAVE FUN

Spawn killing in power shift is a real problem at the moment.

I think this game could really benefit from variable/multiple spawn points per game phase.

There’s no reason that a game should end in less than 5 minutes because 2-3 Lights are camping where we spawn while the rest of the team is just riding the platform to the finish line.

PLEASE give demat some love, it is a really great specialization with some downsides that do not quite put it on par with heal beam. One of the most frustrating things about demat is its inconsistency when going through walls, roofs, etc... or trying to steal a cashbox and it getting stuck on invisible objects. It would most likely be difficult to change in the backend, but definitely one worth doing. I think it should demat an area, or just demat through multiple layers.

Something that is easier to implement and change that would be better in the short term is increasing the recharge speed on demat and/or giving it an additional charge.

Why does it feel like the people making decisions since season 3 dropped are completely disconnected from what makes the game successful at all. If I wanted to play CoD I would play CoD. I don't play the finals to queue into a match with 6-7 lights ignoring everything while playing their own game of TDM. This is the same decision making that killed BFV (trying to be CoD and then trying to be a BR) and 2042 (trying to be CoD). I hope someone figures this out before the game turns into Rogue Company 2....

No, having a large cashout allows last second clutches. If anything, removing the ability for a low team to do a last second clutch would kill off the player base more than the no wipe change. Teams should always be in contention unless you were terrible all match. It also forces teams to sweat over a cashbox throughout the entire time it’s live.

I do agree that cashout needs a wipe penalty, but since we’re play testing changes then it doesn’t hurt to give it a try. Not apples to apples, but for Apex a dev said that one hour of live playtime generated more data than a decade of internal play tests. We simply cannot expect large changes to be balanced without them being live. However if it’s bad we should petition for it to change ASAP.

now these 3 teams are a bit closer together financially than if only one team took the whole pot, making the rest of the match much more exciting to where just kills/wipes can determine the winner as opposed to which team cheesed a $22K steal in the last 2 cashouts. I say this as part of a team that very often cheeses one of the last boxes to advance lol. it feels pretty whack.

Day 124 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored four bullets every second, 50 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, you’re probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no ā€œpocket minigunā€ strats, choosing to use this mid-combat is a commitment, one that could get you killed.
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

Really excited for tomorrows cashout changes. Gonna be a patch for the better, on god.

  1. I like the increase as a bonus to incentivize putting in the box, however, I don’t think it should be 30%. It should be like $5k flat

  2. The 30% should function as an ā€œup to 30% bonusā€ for holding the cashout for x amount of time. More intuitive as a ā€œking of the hillā€ type incentive and actually holding the cashout, opposed to a team getting 2/3 players killed and the last one just running off and making a mad dash to get the box in, for example.

  3. No penalty to team wipes is not a good change. Part of the game is strategy- whether in sacrificing some cash and wiping on purpose to respawn and save tokens, or to burn tokens to prevent your team from getting wiped.
    Further, almost wiping a team but they manage to protect the cashout for just long enough is now an even greater penalty, because now you can’t get the wipe to mitigate some of the cash you lost out on. This now makes the fight After-the-cashout-finishes meaningless, as the team that cashed out has no incentive to stay alive. It is now akin to the final round right after a cashout happens and creates ā€œgarbage timeā€ where the fight really has no bearing on winning.
    ^Edit building upon this further: also reduces the ā€œclutch moment factorā€ that makes the finals so good- when the clock is ticking to use a respawn token and you’re either being hunted / hunting the last enemy for a team wipe, it no longer matters and takes away a potential avenue for qualifying.

  4. Shoutout to embark for the TA health changes, I was vocal about that in here so glad to see you guys took that feedback into consideration. I think this change makes a lot of sense.

yeah they are removing one layer of strategy but at the same time was it a good strat? more often then not i could win a game cause the top team happened to die to another. so for a ranked mode how does this show any kind of skilled play on my part?
i get i could always go after the top team to try and wipe them but that still goes against what you need to do at thats getting cashouts.
spending your time hunting down the top team just puts you at even more of a disadvantage. with spending time not getting cashouts and going for kills that are not even be worth it unless you wipe the whole team.
idk in short it makes it more about earning your score rather then trying to get a 30% score reduction on another team.

it also makes having a light on the team not be such a liability and with the extra money on kills they can actually play a part in winning the game.
cuz im sure we've all seen the light with 18 kills still lose cuz they happened to die at the wrong time. does it make them a bad player tho? i dont think so. i think the cashout environment is what made lights not great. cuz look at ranked TA that shits full of em now.

If Terminal Attack is going to be the permanent Competitive mode then at least devs should focus on balancing it more properly. Right now its all about Light. Light class is beyond broken in Ranked TA. Giving a free Hit Scan Sniper every round where we cant even regain health makes absolutely zero sense. Every weapon with Unfair burst damage, they can simply poke every other player without losing too much HP. 99% of Ruby players are only Light players. This alone should be enough to prove that Light class is unfair and requires little to no effort to rank up

Hey the patch notes said it fixed the menu freezing bug, but it is not fixed at all. The game freezes constantly and still crashes A LOT. Just earlier I was in Oscar's Lobby, and the game crashed on the loading screen. A LOT of freezing and crashing on current patch, would be a nice QOL to see that actually fixed/improved! Thanks!

yeah honestly split it 50-50. so the team that gets wiped loses 20% while the team that wipes them gains 20% of thier cash so not such a huge loss for wipeing but can definatly put you closer to the top for getting the teamwipe. or it could even just be a set amount.
my only issue with that is who is determined to get the teamwipe if multiple teams get the kills? i guess just split the rewards between whichever teams got the kills.
kind of also solves @shy hearth problem with it being too free to push teams too stay in the lead with no risk and kinda helps from abusing team wipes.
@feral shellthis is more speculation then anything. we havent played it yet and there is no real ranked cashout just WT so even data from that wont be too accurate. but at the same time do you need to stick your hand in crap to know its crap? we're allowed to predict how things will go.

Suggestion for the game in general: QOL and easy to implement from a technical standpoint.
Progression skins are overlays.

For example if you own a specific gun changing skin that influences the guns geometry but you want to apply for example the lvl 6 progression skill onto it, you could do that

Source: Cypress#3247. Thank you Cypress for summarizing the livestream. The following is my commentary on the proposed changes, annotated inside code blocks.
Weapon Changes:

  • 93R Buff
    āœ… Good, the 93R needed this.
    Cashout:
  • $200 -> $500 for eliminations
    āœ… Good. Increasing the value of securing kills is a huge incentive for both being aggressive but also not dying. Wiping a team will give $1.5k now instead of $600. This will make deciding which objectives to push more interesting, especially when considering positions on the cashboard.
  • 30% value of a cashbox granted to a team when they put vault into cashbox.
    āœ… Dope change. I think this is fundamentally enough to improve the game with just this. I love this.

Example values for dunks/completions:
10k Vault - 3k / 7k
15k Vault - 4.5k / 10.5k
22k Vault - 6.6k / 15.4k
This is actually very interesting because now imagine this common scenario: you push the 10k vault, secure a teamwipe, and complete then dunk a 15k vault and lose it. In the past you would've been at 12.6k, but post-rework you're at 16k— above what someone used to get for just straight up stealing a 15k vault!

Cashout:

Why don’t they just do 50% of the cash is earned whilst you hold the cashout. I.e you get cash trickling in as you hold it up to 50% of the cash box value. Then 50% is awarded to whoever is still holding it at the end. Whilst it doesn’t stop third party, it does reward you for fighting back and prolonging the fight for as long as possible.

It should be a percentage of how long you've held the cash out, with a multiplier of 1.25x if you're the one who holds it at the end. This will incentivize holding the cash out for longer, as well as keeping it at the end and starting it. Each team that holds it gets a percentage of the cash, but only the ones that hold it at the end get the multiplier.

since the kyoto stairs are getting fixed apparently next week, can the stairs on skyway stadium all be clipped off? like 95% of the outdoor stairs on skyway act as individual stairs instead of ramps when trying to place a bounce pad like all of the stair cases on every other map.   • so whats bad about low grav? as a movement player i find low grav very annoying, yeah sure it make hard jump easier and impossible jump now possible but in combat it make jumping a death wish as it make you a very easy target when falling.
    (i have so many clip of me beaming people who use jump pad in low grav)
  • yeah sure thats what it suppose to do but it can be interesting without being annoying

The new changes I have seen seem great all around. I was almost about to complain about the removal of team wipe Money loss but when I think about it, as long as we still have a respawn penalty for a team wipe I don't think that's such a bad change.

Having team mates alive was never about trying to keep the dollar amounts as high as possible, that's just something we pay attention to at the end of the rounds anyways, so I'm fine with that. (It also allows us to see larger dollar amounts at the end of the match) Which is always nice.

OH WAIT. I actually really like the change that introduces cash rewards for kills. That indirectly makes the 3x Defib strat slightly less effective.

Have an incremental earn rate while the cash is being deposited. Maybe 20% up front, 30% trickle, and 50% cashout. Bring back wipe penalty, but just slightly smaller than before. Maybe toy with a steal delaying the 0-second cashout for that last jab at the 50%.

I don't think bunny hopping is the issue, but the no hipfire bloom on certain high damage weapons is pretty bad design.

Embark needs to make merch. Ospuze as drinks, cash box alarm clocks(saw em on Reddit, cool shit), merch and clothing based off stuff in game (I would absolutely wear the hoodie jacket around), little building block kits with action figures so you can make stuff (like imagine a little kit of some suspended platforms, a cashout and a couple teams with pieces you can put together in different ways like legos, or just outright LEGO collabs), toys or dart guns based off the game stuff, etc. there’s so much potential to really lean into the whole virtual gameshow aspect of this game, embark should start making merch to do that.

I'm Gold 1 in World Tour, and was really looking forward to grinding it hard again once Emerald dropped, but these balance changes are absolute ass. To the degree I doubt i'll play Cashout again.

It's just going to be a mindless kill-fest now. All strategy gone. No need to pay any attention to what other teams are doing, or target specific teams either. Just dumbed the mode down into the ground for the benefit of the sweats and streamers.

But i'm also kinda happy as hopefully that takes all the idiot Lights out of Quick Cash (objectively the best mode) and dumps them in Cashout instead as a kind of ADHD quarantine.

Changes to Cashout

Money earnt from eliminations upped from $200 to $500.
30% of the value of a cashbox will be granted to the team when they put the box into the cashout station. Vault worth 10k put into cashout station grants you 3k. 7k will be what you compete for earning holding the cashout.
Changing spawn logic and location for all vaults at the START of the match to try avoid third party from spawn.
Removing ALL cash loss penalties on team wipe. Intended change here is to combat the 'helpless' feeling of a long fight and losing it to a third party.

Changes to Terminal Attack and Ranked Terminal Attack

QOL, Ranked TA at half time will not put you into a loading screen. Big time saver.
Changing health amounts that you can regen to based on the contestant. This is because Light is too dominant in TA with poke damage, so they wanted to adjust the max regen.

Light: 100 max HP regen

Medium: 125 max HP regen

Heavy: 150 max HP regen

Misc:

93R (light burst pistol) small buff - "We're starting off with some changes to how the weapon behaves, without touching damage numbers etc."
Kyoto stair hitbox being fixed (next week, not tomorrow - thanks to u/R18Jura_ for pointing this out!)

Embark have heard loud and clear that Ranked Terminal Attack isn't everyone's favourite mode to play in ranked. They can't remove ranked in the middle of the ranked season as people have progressed and they don't want to invalidate their grinding. At the start of Season 4 there will be a competitive experience for Cashout.

Disclaimer - these are experiemental changes that Embark believe are good, however they want to see how the community reacts and give feedback.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE CASH DEDUCTION FROM TEAM WIPES
It’s only gonna incentivize not defending ur own cashout and instead leaven to either kill-farm other players and/or steal another cashout with no punishment for squad wiping besides losing ur original cashout (which can just be stolen back).

I’d suggest simply reducing the cash deduction to 20 or 10%. This would soften the punishment for bad plays while also keeping in the risky-strategic element of deciding whether or not to engage a team.

"Bank It" game mode desperately needs team wipes reinstated. Without team wipes, cash boxes are constantly camped by teams, reducing competitive integrity. The absence of team wipes, despite shorter respawn times, results in chaotic gameplay with everyone active simultaneously. This diminishes strategic depth and player engagement and defeats the purpose of revives, as players are immediately overwhelmed by the continuous presence of opponents.

Previously, team wipes encouraged dynamic, strategic battles at cashouts, where teams collaborated to prevent opponents from banking their coins. Reinstating team wipes would revive this crucial element, making gameplay more fluid and exciting. Can we look at damage dropoff for medium weapons? The fact that I can be effectively pressured by a medium with a scar from halfway across the map as a sniper is incredible. And on that note, server lag/tick rate makes it borderline impossible to hit people mid air. They are never actually where they look like they are on the server. Try hitting anyone that just took a jump pad, I guarantee you will miss more than one shot despite the cursor being on them.

Hot take- powershift is a terribly designed gamemode.

All this gamemode does is promote snipers and explosive spam. You can't stay on a platform that is actively targeted by one or both of these players, and yet the entire objective is exactly that. Dome shield is the only possible solution but if nobody runs it, or the person is dead, good luck surviving the onslaught of grenades, rpgs, and sniper shots.

I want to enjoy this game mode, I do... but every match is the same thing, explosions and snipers, all match, every match... it gets repetitive and obnoxious honestly

Matchmaking in this game is absolutely busted. I am so sick and god damn tired of it. World Tour is not fun anymore. Bring back single round cashout and for the love of god fix ragequitting.

The punishments are not tuned correctly. If your internet drops out, it will ban you immediately but if your entire team leaves then you just have to sit there and take it until the game says you can forfeit without penalty. If you leave before then, even though they intentionally clicked "Leave Game" and then alt + f4'd out--something the game should be able to tell apart from a disconnect--the game says you're the ragequitter and bans you instead of them,

I got banned again for this exact reason, twice in a row. For half an hour this time. My teammates all left because they were absolutely sucking and because this game is biased towards ragequitters for some reason it didn't autoabandon after half an entire round so I was forced to either play the game alone or abandon by myself, I was going to lose either way.

This is not a good competitive experience. I have seen devs with far less experience create much better systems. Absolutely unacceptable, this has been going on for almost a year and getting worse and worse and something has to be done about it or else Season 4 is going to be an absolute disaster.

Even just something small like making the "Leave Game" button abandon a match immediately, since it's clearly a deliberate act and not something you can do on accident, would go a long long way to improving this. There is no point in removing penalties from people who leave with an incomplete team if the game doesn't even count it as a genuine disconnect until they're already completely screwed.

Matchmaking in ranked terminal attack is terrible. Just played 8 games in a row where my teammates were collectively a much lower score than our opponents. I lost all 8 games, and our team only won more than 2 rounds in 2 of those 8 games.

Is there a purpose to having both Eliminations and Assists show on Tab?

I feel like in a game like this, Assists aren't really needed at all. You can get an Assist with a single bullet, the exact same way you can grab an Elimination with a single bullet, or you can get an Assist by doing 99% of the damage, same as a Elimination. They are identical, and I just don't really see the point in having both Eliminations and Assists show up.

I don't know what it is, but it is fairly satisfying to have a relatively high Elimination count, but Assists just don't give that same vibe, so even though you got like 14 Assists, the 2 Eliminations just makes you feel like you did a horrible job that game, despite them basically counting up to a total of 16 Eliminations.

I feel like just grouping them up to count as a Elimination could help with lessening the amount of information given in game, simply one less statistic to look at, much like in say for example Overwatch where it all counts as an Elimination. Of course this is just a tiny 'quality of life' thing, and not important what so ever, and other things take priority, but just thought I'd bring it up.

Opinion on Cash Out Team Wipe Penalty
This is my personal opinion on team respawn and respawn coin usage

  1. Increasing the number of coins given in one round
  2. When a player is killed, a 'continue?' message appears on the player's statue. Start the countdown with a hologram (like an arcade)
  3. Coins can be used immediately (or after a short period of time), and the player is revived on the spot like the current defibrillator effect.
  4. Players who have used up all their coins must wait for their team to be wiped out.
  5. Respawn coins are recharged with a penalty of losing money when the team is wiped out.

The opinion that it would be easier to use respawn coins came from the desire for an arcade concept.
And I hope there is some connection between team wipe penalty and respawn coins.
(Just think about it, you lost money due to team wipe penalty, but gained respawn coins!)

Balancing around casual gameplay is fucking horrible for this game and it's insane that is still the balance approach after 3 seasons.

The most recent dash nerf is a good example of this. Cloak has always been meta in high levels. In cashout light barely has a spot in high level play when HMH is so powerful.

There are aspects of light that needed nerfs. Dash was not one of them šŸ’€

yeah always went dash because it was more of a challenge than the invis cheese, but doubtful it will be viable in cashout at all now. so dont cry when we all go invis + knives, will gladly camp now with a sniper rather than get involved.. enjoy! ppl complaining about this need SBMM but having no ranked mode killed it. crazy

if you balance around casuals it you have no incentive to progress as mastery is almost immediate. so you switch from having a long term player base to a cyclic casual one that leaves as soon as they get the least bit bored, making you have to continuously convert new players and somehow hoping the current cycle sticks long enough for them to populate matches...will they get bored before they decide to get the battlepass?

I only stayed because of ranked and because with dash + my own more challenging loadouts it made the game faster, and more challenging + interesting than the other metas.

The other builds are significantly easier to get kills with but that got stale fast. Honestly if it weren't for ranked + light dash I would have left after the first week or two. You've combined all the skill levels into one pool now so of course lower levels are complaining... They don't know and haven't seen the diamond+ meta or skill set... I'll try it but man...................no good

Why is healing getting nerfed again, mediums are suffering as is. Edit: Goo did not need a buff, at all. Mediums didn't need a nerf, and I feel like dash is not the thing to nerf on lights. throwing knives are still a bit of a problem, i don't think team wipe cash loss should be removed, the rest of the changes to cashout are fine. And while explosives are more manageable now thanks to the previous nerf, still pretty freakin strong.

i dont know why cash loss penalties for teamwipe have been removed. It was a great concept which made pressure on the teams when to take a fight or not or when to coin when you have 1 team mate left. Plus $500 on each kill so if my team does 30 kill in total then we make around 15k easily which was only 6k before the update. I dont know y these changes were necessary.

couldn’t agree more. this season has undone everything that made this game unique and a great experience. heavy is terrible and the only good thing it has is claw and sledge, both things that take away from the fps part of the game. sledge should be good but paired with claw it is undeniably the only way to play heavy and have fun without sweating profusely. never played light until season 3 when i was forced too to get high kills and not spend my entire time swinging a hammer or shielding for teammates. i finished last season 14th and find myself disgusted with how the competitive side of this game has been completely ignored

From what I see the development team only plays light.

$500 per death.
(With a player who uses aimbot there is no need to pick up boxes and the game is won.)

Don't lose money when your team dies. (There is no point in playing as a team if you can die and respawn with the same money)

You promote kills over team play after the new cashout update.
If you want to convert it to a TDM just remove the box and you're done.

Terminal Attack:
Light recovers 100 hp: 66% of his health
Medium recovers 125 hp: 50% of his health.
Heavy recovers 150: 42% of his health.

Is it so difficult to ensure that everyone has the same recovery percentage?

Later you will wonder why everyone plays light in terminal attack? Simply because that mode is unbalanced and only benefits the lights.

If a mode is good as a cashout and people like it, why would you change it?

The light does not need more buffs, and HAS NOT needed them since the start of S3. The fcar is just AKM with less bullets and needs attention.

All the guns on heavy are under utilized now, for obvious reasons/ just not good anymore . I don’t get why light weapons keep getting buffs. While everything it has is way too powerful.

So much for those light nerf rumors. Light came out unscathed and med gun nerfed for some reason. Light is unenjoyable to fight in its current state of being able to kill anyone from any range with very little ability to do anything about it. Throwing knives, the sniper, the SMGs, every single light weapon is extremely strong and able to kill in under a second before anyone can react because the light has already dashed, cloaked, or grappled away.

Why can you draw the bowstring while dashing, completely negating the drawback of needing to draw it back.

Why is there a hitscan sniper rifle in a game otherwise entirely built around close to medium range engagements, making it completely control and ruin games. At LEAST make it a projectile with travel time.

Why has light not received a single significant nerf besides the taser adjustment in the entire history of the game.

I know several people who have stopped playing The Finals because of how oppressive, frustrating, and unenjoyable to fight lights are. I’m genuinely concerned for the future of this game given the dev team’s complete disregard for light’s dominance.

The other weapons were indirectly nerfed or buffed in these patches like with the goo burn time being a nerf to all pyro gadgets and weapons and the TA Regan change indirectly nerfing snipers and Ks23, and indirectly nerfing light as a whole, and the cashout changes buffing lights to be used in the meta. All the weapons need to now be balanced around TA and WT now and casually. This is super hard to balance guns now. The 93R was an overall trash gun overshadowed by every other light weapon while with medium and heavy every weapon is viable and non overshadowed each other

I’m a bit torn on the Heal Beam nerf. It already felt harder to keep my team healthy after the first nerf and I could adapt. I haven’t hopped on to try it, but I can already tell that 5.5 seconds is not enough unless they up the rate of healing it gives.

Dont nerf dash which is already not so good (compared to tracer blinks for instance)

  • Dashes get a lot of times stuck
  • Dashes don't go through enemy

I thought I would like the WT changes, but now I don't.

Sure, third parties over cashouts have decreased, but fourth parties have increased. Teams are doubling cashouts to get the deposit bonus without having to fight. Teams are griefing other teams more since there isn’t a team wipe penalty. Random/pointless fighting has increased, players are chasing other players more than they should now. Third parties have increased on vaults, with the instant deposit bonus being worth too much to pass up. Without team wipes, no comeback is possible with two stronger/skilled/coordinated teams in a match. (maybe true for regular cashout as well)

Maybe it might be better later on when the player count is higher, but so far, it isn’t looking too good.

  • so whats bad about low grav? as a movement player i find low grav very annoying, yeah sure it make hard jump easier and impossible jump now possible but in combat it make jumping a death wish as it make you a very easy target when falling.
    (i have so many clip of me beaming people who use jump pad in low grav)
  • yeah sure thats what it suppose to do but it can be interesting without being annoying

  • Remove it (boring)

Lowkey makes team wipes non consequential. They could’ve just reduced the wipe penalty to reflect the amount of cash gained on kills. Why even have a wipe timer, at that point?

And let teams that are in third or fourth , have a winning chance if they’re unable to grab the last cashout. If cash loss was 20-25% instead of 30%, cash gained per kill is still 500 , and WITH the 30% granted on deposit still, it could lead to situations where someone nabs the last cashout, and third or fourth place team also wipes another team, and both 1st and second place teams end up losing instead in the final moment. It leads to more chances for losing teams to recover from bad plays in the early game. Embark taking L’s on continuing to make changes nobody asked for, like with ranked TA. With all other changes aside they almost got it right at least.

I've been a fan of the game ever since s1. Loved it. Played all types of classes, had no issue with the balancing. Back then. I even wrote a google review, opposing the views of all those ppl who were talking about balancing issues. Now, I just realized they were right. In a way at least.
S3 is mental torture. It kills my brain. I'm not talking about TA. It's the entire balance system. I'll say it again, sniper lights are so hellishly oppressive. I can't even play power shift anymore cos I have to run away and take shelter just cuz theres 4 snipers in one team. I could try firing back at them, but my heavy lewis gun or medium fcar wont do nothing. Next? Throwing knives. Constantly crying to the devs, not just me but the entire community. Literally two-hit kill. You dont even have the chance to counter them.
Here's a list of some nerfs done to weapons in the game in the past: Lewis Gun. M60. FCAR. AKM. CL40. LH1.
Here's a list of some buffs: Throwing knives. M11. Pretty much light weapons.
Recognize the trend? All the nerfs done were some of the few weapons that we could use to counter lights, but u nerfed it. Just cuz lights had a skill issue and didnt know how to play with a lower health. They have things like vanishing bomb, evasive dash, thermal vision, grappling hook, and not to mention huge fire rate, zero recoil, high accuracy and range and seconds of reload speeds. Yet u keep catering them like idiots. Im talking to u, devs.
Swords, daggers, m11, xp54, throwing knives. None of these require skill. Just keep spamming and ur done with ur opponent in seconds. How is that fair??? Lowest skill floor in the game. All light weapons are op, tbh, except maybe recurve bow. Lights itself are op. Thats why u see 3+ lights in every powershift match. Ppl are killing me in whats faster than a reaction time. And i dont even have a proper fire rate or damage to counter. Awfl Game. Great job devs. @pearl kiln

the entire pacing of the game is different, they've essentially forced an HML meta because you really need a light with gateway to get the first vault in extremely fast for the 30% deposit bonus, i'm not an entirely against an HML meta but doing it like this is awfullll

no team wipes mean you can "tie" for second place so much more often

no team wipes also means it's practically impossible to catch up to anyone who's deposited a 10k + 15k, you can't team wipe them anymore, and unless you double stack the 22ks it's just joever

what i've seen most of the smart players doing is rushing in the first vault to a cashout for the 30%, and then immediately abandoning that cashout to try third party the teams fighting over the other vault for an extra 30%

that causes some games to be a never-ending cycle of third-parties and it's actually ass to play

Overall, I’m very pleased with the cash out changes on paper and am interested to see how the game plays and the pacing overall. I will play and gather some formal thoughts before commenting further.

I’m always glad to see bug fixes and improvements. This should be the standard, and devs should always work towards making a seamless experience when playing the game, which is most important.

TA does not affect me as I do not play, but happy to see QoL changes in that regard.

I'm glad to see a dash nerf. This is also a step in the right direction.

I'm a bit confused about the additional medium nerf as the class has already been nerfed to the ground.. As a medium main, support is the only thing you can do well without sweating or being pinpoint accurate. In the instance where there are multiple heal beams on the team, I can understand there is a need for greater cooldown times, but as a single medium, having to also play the balance game of the beam among the thousand other things going on makes it very difficult to want to main medium when other classes are simply stronger. You can ā€œsupportā€ better with heavy mesh/barricade/dome IMO. Or, simply frag out with a light.

The sentiment is the same across the board regarding lights, so I'm curious why other classes aren't buffed to combat lights better. The FCAR is now a pea-shooter. The AKM sprays nerf darts. The CL-40 is a potato launcher. The Lewis gun is a new gun every time I pick it up. The M60 feels like it does less damage than an SMG. The only weapon I can find consistency with is the Model. Combat as other classes does not feel balanced or fun. I'm a long-time fps player (10+ years) and still find it hard to learn the ā€œskill curveā€ with any weapon that isn't the XP, the M11, or the LH1. It's not a skill issue, these weapons have been changed too drastically.

Please consider reworking weapons, particularly for medium. šŸ™

I disagree in one thing, and its the sword, do you see sword players constantly? Nope, they are rare and if you see one they are either bad or they have some skill but still bad, the sword DOES require skill, now that they nerfed the emote cancel it does rwquire skill and strategic gameplay but thats also something unfair against other classes and even its own class, if you have skill you can really counter all of those weapons against people who dont know how to play against sword. It's not easy to use at all. And there is tons of people that i've heard saying that whoever knows how to use the sword has my respect, i've also encountered tons of people reacting to my sword skill and other's sword skills as well.

probably a bit early to tell, only played like 6 games, but overall i like the changes, except no wipe penalty. i'd much prefer if there was a (reduced) penalty of maybe 15-20% and the team that did the wipe receiving those 15-20% (distributed on the teams that did the kills). that way there is still incentive to stay alive after a wipe and you can't get a free reset by just wiping. and you can still contest first/second place if you are behind. rewarding the team that did the wipe prevents other teams from benefitting (e.g. first place gets wiped by third place, third place stays third, but first place drops to second)

Embark, you're clearly trying to prevent third partying or discourage it with these changes.

Stop doing that.

Cashout has 4 teams of 3 fighting over two Cashouts. Third and fourth partying is a part of the game and those that can't deal with it are only really mad because they didn't win when they should've, and that's on them for not being able to keep up with the pace.

Revert everything besides

  1. Increased steal time, as it does lower the chance of douchey "jump in and steal" and gives a slightly bigger margin of "we won this, no excuse to lose it."
  2. Increased cash per kill, to give losing teams a caveat to get in the lead. With the fact that Cash Boxes will grant you 100% of the earnings after a successful Cashout, the increased cash per kill should not encourage more third partying for winning teams, especially since they could lose 30% of their winnings when they get wiped.

It is extremely crucial, if you aren't going to do these suggestions or improve on them, to bring back Cash Loss on Team Wipe at the very least. I had a game where both winning teams had so much money that the losing teams had NO CHANCE to win even with a successful Cashout, ESPECIALLY if they weren't the first one to insert the Cash Box.

Good update!

The only thing I dislike is no more cash lost over team wipes. I always liked hunting a team and wiping them to have more cash if its a close call.

Its also a skill to realise you shouldnt get wiped or you’ll lose a game if both your teammates are dead.

There’s no point to increasing the cash gained per kill, if it can’t be lost. It just means 3rd and 4th place can’t ever catch up really, if they don’t get the first 2 cashouts immediately or steal two during the match at some point

these cashout changes are just not it idk. it feels like third parties are rewarded even more because of the immediate cash reward from placing the box into the cashout and as people have pointed out, getting more money from kills is redundant without cash loss because if you manage to kill the super sweat team, they have no punishment whatsoever because they'll just kill you back and gain more money with no hit to their amount. bring back cash loss and reduce how much money is gained immediately from placing the cashbox into the cashout. cash loss added some sort of reason for people to hold back on third partying. now theres no down side to it and people will just third party anyway.

While i dream of it being reverted and know it wont be, I would like to end on this likely unread note in hopes somebody may read it and know they arent alone

3rd partying was never a problem in the finals. There is only 4 teams.

It isnt much to manage. Its amazing that people have found this as a reason to be upset, but tragic that we have given them what they asked for.

"3rd partying" is what made the finals fun. Because you had to pay attention to what teams were where, and you could potentially win the game by "keeping your eye on the ball"

It was objective based, and at the time it was great.

The new changes roll out the red carpet for casual players to get rewarded for easy swipes on cash boxes. The small amount of skill required has been shifted to heavily rewarding teams for being good at getting kills, and not only for keeping your eye on the ball.

The issue was people who play team death match games being upset that they couldnt win a game for dropping 30 kills.

But the game gave a voice to less mechanically skilled players who had an eye for strategy.

rip the finals as i knew it. I know this is healthy for somebody's wallet, by making it more fun for the people in question. But i will miss the game.

I hope the people it serves enjoy the game as much as I did

Y'all should make it so the cash out deposits half the money to the team holding it for half the timer and then the rest when the timer ends this way if someone steals it while its almost done they get half the money. i feel like most modern fps have forgotten their predecessors like tell me why halo 3's ranking system and matchmaking was good and played for many years after its release date? simply because they had two different matchmaking systems for casual and rank, i think the finals needs to take a page from that game and simply implement those appropriate changes, maps need to be different in rank then they are casual, the weapon balance needs to be more there, the ranking system needs to be a real ranking system that judges on skill not a time simulator

It's meant to be a gameshow. Epic comebacks and reversals were what made it so awesome. The economy of Cashout was incredibly finely balanced. Now it's just sweatiest team wins. Creativity doesn't matter.

I don't mind if it's just a LTM. Two weeks of a different ruleset is fun. But it's shockingly poor design if this is intended to be permenent.

To the degree of fundamentally minsunderstanding what makes the game so fun.

I'm really hoping it's not the start of selling out to the idiot crowd like most FPS games eventually devolve into.

It was awesome feeling like you always had a shot at winning, and like you weren’t done fighting until the last second. Instead we have people (can’t tell if it’s the casuals or the ā€œpro playersā€) crying about last minute wins, low gravity, platforms, any of the weird or fun weapons or gadgets, any of the game show dynamism, etc. until the game becomes just another straight forward shooter where movement and mechanical aim skills and whatever are the deciding factor.

Exactly. The whole point of the game is that its dynamic and you never know what will happen. Why would we even bother having 4 teams and 2 cash boxes if third parties and random fights didnt break out? Its a game of chaos and fun. I dont think trying to separate the fights makes the game more enjoyable. Also, the new rules only encourage lights to run wild. Plus theres no incentive to not just jump off the edge when you need to reset your team.

Rant about balancing the game
The problem with this game is that devs are not gonna do much balance changes till s4 I think. and the thing is they are not gonna hit the mark with just 1 big update. and their inner season patches are gonna be too small because I guess that's their policy now since we already have 6 weeks of nothing patches (talking about gun balance only issues, other stuff gets updated, but balancing is stale right now). So what I predict for now is that s4 is gonna hit SOME problems. but then we will have another 3 months of one or two fundamental problems that are not gonna be addressed for the entirety of season 4. Probably same with s5. Maybe with s6 they'll finally do something about current problems for it to be enough, but at that point new problems will occur. I've seen that in overwatch already and the finals is definitely heading this way. Changes are too SLOW right now. And unless they change their pace back to s1 balancing this game will never get its "popularity blow up". It's just gonna stay as a niche game for about 10k players.

I don't think there's much room for strategy anymore, if you can just wipe a team that's winning and not remove any of their lead Ever. More cash from eliminating others does not matter in the slightest if the reward for wiping a whole team isn't ALSO reducing theirs to edge yourself into qualifying. This is an utterly baffling decision.

Oceania region is so dead its not funny which sucks for finding a good ping match. It takes so long to find a match on anything but powershift. Most people i'm sure just search on Asia now which can have moderate to absolutely terrible latency. The server selection needs to be more inclusion not individual as most people will just switch to another Region and not look back. I love this game but i really cant enjoy it when the ping is so bad and the only server thats good for me is so dead. I'd say it needs a more peer to peer finding system with people who are on the same latency level but i think having the ability to select multiple regions to search on is more achieveable. Please have it also show the latency range for each region.

I haven't played yet but I am absolutely certain that the no loss of money on death is going to ruin cashout, there is no longer an incentive to hunt down players, there's no longer a way to scrape out a win by fighting a team a position above you. The extra money for kills incentivizes 3rd partying by being able to pick off both groups while they're low. Almost entirely absolutely awful changes that do nothing to address the concerns that ruin the mode. Fix player spawns instead of trying useless nothing features.

While a percentage based wipe penalty is fundamentally flawed, a flat wipe penalty would do wonders. Maybe it can be a number that goes up through the round or it could go up every time your team wipes. I’m glad that we moved away from percentage wiped but there should definitely be something. This is a great first round of changes and I hope the next iteration works well too

The removal of the the teamwipe penalty kinda sucks, its harder to come back from behind and it makes getting a teamwipe feel completely unrewarding. Teamwiping the big dogs in a match should feel good not disappointing. That being said, earning 30% from the boxes actually gives teams a reason to fight for the vaults which is pretty good and it seems to reduce the 3 team dogpiles pretty substantially.

the actual best way to fix "3rd parties"(i think) is to implement this system that i came across while in my bathroom (yes while in the bathroom):
if a team that you're fighting wipes you out single-handed you should receive the normal 30% penalty as usual but if some reason you wiped the other team but the last of you got picked up by some random team you'll not lose any cash just like currently and if the last 2 of you got picked up by the same team and wipes you should get like 10~20% cash lost depending on maybe how much health you've got or how you performed in fighting back the 3rd party or smth
and if one of you got killed by team a but right after that another one of your teammates gets picked by team b the kill counter reset and if you do get wiped you'll still get no cash lost
that should satisfy most players getting 3rd partied and still provide a reason to wipe the other teams

its really sad to see that the finals keeps destryoing its own game. the game got famous for its incredibly fun mode => cashout. they took ranked from it, which was the reason we grinded that game so we only have the casual cashout left what is not so fun as before but still fine. terminal attack is just ass, sorry to say but this mode doesnt belong to the finals. NOW embark want to also destroy the cashout enjoyers. Increased the time taken to steal a cashout from 6s to 7s -> hmm kay... why not but not neccessary change. ~30% of the cash in a Cashbox is now awarded to the team that deposits the Cashbox the moment it is added to the Cashout Station. The remaining ~70% of the cash in a Cashbox is awarded when the cashout is completed at the Cashout Station. These values are rounded off to give easier-to-understand values. This replaces the previous $2000 a team would receive for initiating a cashout -> why changing the system it was so good before?! but this change is also okay... BUT NOW WITH THIS UPDATE THIS MODE ALSO WILL DIE AND WITH IT THE WHOLE GAME -> Removed all cash loss penalties for team wipes ?????????????????????????????????????????? That will totally destroy all the tension, especially the endgame tension. The competitive experience is completely destroyed and a boring TDM is created, without meaning, tactics, understanding, etc. THANK YOU EMBARK FOR COMPLETELY BREAKING THIS GAME FOR MY FRIENDS AND ME. we will not touch this game again. so sad because this was is/was such !FUN! 😦 😦 😦

the solution is to add a skill based matchmaking back to the game and tell people what rank they are in so there is a division between the players that arent able to figure out how the game works or make it work in their favor, and the people who understand the game.

bring back the s2 ranked system, and if people complain they dont understand the ranks then let them complain. 3rd partying is not a problem for bronze players because they dont understand why they do it and want to defend their box. thats how the games work for them.

@pearl kiln Feedback concerning changes. With the increase 30% vault in-put and per kill increase, the team wipe needs to stay in the game. A reduced amount of percentage like 15 to 20% would be viable. I say this because it completely makes 3rd and 4th team to make any last moment comebacks allowed. Especially if you're in a lobby with 3 stack teams that are very good. I say this is helpful for solo que teams and the game itself. Weapon and gadget buffs still are needed to improve the meta to keep the game fresh. TA rank or unranked nobody wants in the game, but I understand you can't remove it mid-season, but do not keep it going into s4 at all costs. As a viewer and player this will be great overall for your game. Stick to cashout and continue improving the mode.

we need Season2 Ranked back and exactly THIS and nothing else. it was so fun to grind to diamond. and with latest update to cashout, for me, its unplayable and no more fun. mind games of 3. party is completly gone, no risks at all now, no tense last second moments/steals (which i loved, even against me :D). I actually felt bad because with the evasive dash barely any of them were able to actually do significant damage, cuz i dashed to dodge their shots (copying what lights do). so heavy was a goner (one of them had lewis gun and the other a m60, and pls admit the fact that the nerfs have made their recoil too much). mediums were also slightly weak (since one of them had 1887 and i used dash a lot, agreed 1887 is not weak, its perfectly balanced and ok, but the other had an fcar and pls think about that weapon. isnt it like a pea shooter? as im telling u abt all the weapons, pls test each of them if u have the time) the light was tough competition, and i was left with 17 health. wouldve died if it wasnt for evasive dash. i tried dagger as well, after buying it. Really difficult to get good hits. But then when i used cloaking device it all changed. its highly powrful that way considering u can using the cloak to instakill sm1, and idont think THAT actually requires skill (dont mind my mistake i shouldve written cloak and dagger) sniper def requires hellish skill. daggers require skill on their own. recurve bows are 100 percent skill. sword is still skill mostly if ur facing a light, or at times a medium. but the huge recoil and slow reload times for the heavies made me feel bad tbh. On the other hand, for m11 and xp54 the fire rates are much too fast. relaitvely less skill. See what im trying to say. Nothing abt this is skill issue. Its how theyre constantly nerfing medium and heavy weapons. theyre unplayable. now U try playing HEAVIES and tellMe how ufeel

I encountered a bug yesterday where I tried dropping a goo canister but there was too much in the way to drop it cleanly; the canister jumbled around and disloged itself after a second. However, after this, any canister or cash box or anything I picked up was immediately dropped. I could not hold onto any objects. I'm not sure what exactly fixed it, but it felt like doing DPS with my gun fixed the issue. I was still on the same life when the issue resolved itself.. making me feel like shooting/doing damage alleviated the issue.

I've not followed the meta, so I'm not sure how other people feel, have enjoyed/disliked, or how powerful the bow is. However I think the bow is SUPER fun, and unique to the game. I would love if it was made into a weapon type, rather than it being classified in the gun ones. Then each class could have one. Perhaps Medium a hunting bow, and heavy a crossbow? Again... I'm not sure how people feel about this, but I love the bow for light, and would love the same for medium.

@pearl kiln I don’t mind the changes but it removes the nail biting moments of it all. When losing the cash out my team just decided to head off to another vault. The update removed the sense to retake the cash out. The best solution would have been either the team wipe or the 30% cash out not both. I think the update is suited for a more casual play in public rather than ranked. I think if the cash outs where far apart it would be more of a commitment to travel and try and third party. I played 6 games of power shift and the connection was great played a few of cash out and it was awful (same sitting)

A random suggestion for a game mode would be a percentage cash out. So like an ongoing payout. So if a team held the cash out for 70% of the time they get 70% of the money etc.

Also there’s a lot of clipping errors with the robot skin but still a cool and favourite skin

well, after playing some I can say for certain they've ruined the best part of their game. Without a team wipe penalty there's need for tanking or support, further encouraging triple light stacks since they have the highest dps, they can farm kills which have increased money, and then the new meta is triple light because without a penalty you don't need to live, just use your movement to push and get as many attempt to steal in as possible, this change needs to be reverted in some capacity INSTANTLY, even a 10% penalty would be better. And without the team wipe penalty, if your team opens and completes the first 2 cashouts, and your team is first, just guard one cash box and you win 100% of the time, don't even need to stay alive while guarding it because if you die, oh well you lose nothing, it's just a stalling game, completely ruins any tension you might feel as a first placed team. and also this HEAVILY encourages 3rd partying, since there's no penalty or risk and everything to be gained for doing it.

EDIT: to addy, it may be temporary, but for all the issues they could have fixed with cashout they created new ones and now the complaints are just going to be about the shit changes they made which will take their eyes off the old problems that really needed solving.

It's nice with out it now. But if it must come back, maybe a $5000 loss would be the max.

Stun gun is still Way too powerful also. Get stunned and wait for death.

Regarding the new formula. I love everything about it except for one ENORMOUS blunder. Eliminating cash loss on teamwipes means that halfway through the match, the game’s already decided now. Before, the bottom team could have a chance until the last second. Now, the last 2-3 minutes are superfluous because you can’t knock the top players down any pegs.

@somber patrol You have like 2 months to complete this challenge. You aren't "forced" to throw anything. The challenge will complete itself just by playing.

@bleak cipher Your clip is irrelevant because (a) in the first situation, he just straight-up got caught out. He could just as well have gotten RPG'd in the face and/or charge 'n slammed and/or melted by an AK from a nearby rooftop in the time that Light took to kill him. Instead of making any attempts to escape the situation - like, for instance, using the massive jump pad right next to him - he stood completely still like some sort of malfunctioning roomba and tried to track the guy who is much faster than him and has him at gunpoint, making himself a target that's about as easy to kill as any of the stillstanding dummies in the practice range; and (b) in the second situation, he literally needs to land a single additional shot in that wild flurry of panicked spraying (or just quick melee, which is also a thing that exists in this game) and he would have survived the situation just fine.

Also, if there's anyone with him in that situation, the Light's probably deleted from the game before he even gets a knife off.

Both of those situations were completely avoidable and survivable.

That is what people mean when they say complaining about Lights being OP is a "skill issue". People expect to just have to aim in the Light's general direction, tape down LMB, and autowin - possibly because that is the usual experience of any other Medium gunfight involving an AKM. It's literally one of the core jobs of the Light class to catch out and pick off isolated members of a team, and here's this individual on Twitter making some big fuss about how "THIS IS SO UNFAIR" when he is running around, alone, with no awareness, and - surprise! - gets caught out and picked off.

It's like complaining about how it's so unfair that Heavies have so much HP and can destroy so much of the map or that Mediums have so much team utlity.

I think that the recent changes to address third-party don't tackle the core issue: player expectations. In a game where more than two teams compete simultaneously, third-party involvement is inevitable. The root of the frustration is originated from the current cashout mechanics allowing for two concurrent cashouts. Players generally expect each team to engage equally, leading to scenarios of 3vs3 + 3vs3. However, when 2 teams decide to try to steal the same cashout, such as 3vs3vs3 + 3vs0, it appears unfair to some, despite being a legitimate strategy within the current mechanics.

I think the solution lies in combining cashout and quick cash mechanics. Specifically, keeping the cash bonus/malus from cashout but reducing the number of teams in cashouts from 4 to 3 and having only 1 active cashout at a time, as in quick cash. This ensures third-party involvement is a given, eliminating complaints about interference. Teams would need to strategize for combat against two other teams, always staying alert and ready to regroup&reset if caught off guard or outnumbered.

Third-part is not something negative. It actually adds variety and depth to the gameplay, distinguishing it from typical one-team vs one-team games. It's just the expectation that need to be fixed

anyone who can actually aim will track it easily. theyre still tracking a moving target...easy. imagine dashing while having to aim, way more difficult. This is why dash doesnt mean anything in high tier lobbies, the players can aim and take them down regardless.

Ive spent hundreds of hours subconsciously perfecting the timing with it and you adjust it for the trash players that cant aim.

What a terrible decision.

If the intent behind the cashout changes was to reduce the "third partying" and long lasting team encounters, the changes are doing the exact opposite of that now that there is no risk for teams to push in; they can wipe, respawn, and push again without any worry of losing any money. the change is directly counter-productive to the very issue it's intended to address

I'm telling you, devs, there's unrecognized potential in my recent idea: pay out the cash from cashouts on a per-second basis. As the teams fight it out and steal it back and forth, they each earn some amount of money from it. This keeps the entire match a tighter race between the 4 teams and makes for a more interesting finale, whereas currently (even more so with today's changes), the #1 team and sometimes even the #2 team can often just chill unbothered by the final 2 cashouts.

Im never gonna like TA but these changes are a great start and make it more tolerable, but please šŸ™ cutdown number of rounds to best of 9 at least please. Some maps are very defender skewed results in 0-6 or 1-5 on attack only to even at 6-6. Losing this hard is demoralizing, causes players to give up and end their lives to end the game sooner or rage quit. The enemy is upset too because easy games means only +200 rp. Cutting it down ends the misery quicker and makes me want to play again to hopefully win back the loss since matches are quicker now.

Now let me explain, yes i see your point, i am a all class main myself and i use for the most part all classes depending on the situation or arragement of teams, i agree with the fact that FCAR, M60 and LEWIS are down to the point you can barely kill with it, but you have to understand that truly skilled players can make it work, take as an example the 1887, i've encountered tons of people that truly know how to use it, and as you said it is perfectly balanced because it neeeds aiming in order to hit your shots, but take in mind sword is not viable in current ranked mode therefore is not meta and you dont see people using it as much, now look at others that use it, you will notice that many of the people who use it are good with it, i can't say that all of them do know how to use it, i see your point on the nerfs of HEAVY and MEDIUM archetypes but i'm just here defending sword because YES, i hate lights especially when they have cloack and sniper or M11 or XP54, i feel useless using the lewis now because its just unplayable while playing with light feels like you can do everything at most, THAT's why I'm now using the winch + KS23 combo WHICH i must say requires skill because besides aiming you have to learn movement with the heavy which is very limited and timing with the winch.

Removing team wipes incentivizes people to stop bothering/rage quit. If you are behind the team ahead is not going to lose anything, meaning a game can be pretty much over after 5 mins although there is 5 mins left. It was already a problem in games I played before. Also, the 30% of the cashout being in putting the box in means RNG dictates who has the best chance at getting that 30% rather than the skill of taking the point for 100%.

World Tour changes are really good, it is really enjoyable as it is way easier and way more tempting to make interesting plays as you don't get penalized for wiping. Fights are also way more important as you can win the game by just fighting, this ends up being way more fun than just holding 1 room as fights break out more often in places they don't usually do.

Honestly these changes are great but please don't make this the ranked next season, it would be better as a casual game mode because you are allowed to make goofy plays without getting punished.

The cashout changes are a fun mix up. I’m pretty sure these changes are just for the new world tour circuit meaning in 2 weeks they will revert. I just played one match and greatly enjoyed the more casual aggression focused rules. Of course I don’t think this would be good for competitive but if this is just for the next two weeks I highly approve the change up to keep things fresh!

I have a confession to make:

If I see a team with MMM running defibs and healing beams I communicate with my team in hopes of making that MMM squad loose. Doing whatever we can from throwing the cashbox away, focus it them in a team fight when they are down a player, even leaving my cashout to go third party them when they are fighting elsewhere.

I have been enjoying the new pace of the game without the team wipe penalty, but I think there's some balance that could be found.

I think a scaling percentage lost on death could be quite interesting. For instance teams with 10k cash or below wouldn't lose any money on death, but if you're between 10% and 15k you lose 15%. Then between 15 and 20k you lose 20% (or some variation of this) and so on and so forth, up to the original 30%

This sort of change would still reduce the frustration of 3rd party kills as the teams affected by this will normally be the teams lower on the scoreboard. It also allows them to continue to play aggressive and push harder against the winning teams than normal, while still making it important to stay alive if you're holding a lot of cash.

I think this could keep the complexity and strategy of teamwipes when you're in a winning position, without punishing the teams struggling to win fights and getting consistently wiped

Love the attention being given to spectator mode, but please make it so that the pause key can be rebinded, especially since e is a key very frequently used as a spectator and its right next to r, so with no way to rebind either of them it is a common occurence to pause and disrupt the game frequently entirely by accident

The penalty for wiping should be a flat amount that increases every time your team wipes. It should also only be able to take 50% of your total max and should choose the lower amount.

Example:

Your wipe penalty has at $8,000, and you have $10,000. If you wipe, it will only take 5,000 because it caps at 50% of your max.

If your wipe amount is $8,000 and you have $50,000, it will take $8,000 when you wipe because it is below 50%.

50% is a large amount and could be tweaked but I think the base idea would fix the problem with wiping entirely

the camera for inspecting weapons should be zoomed out further by default and we should be able to zoom in and out with the scroll wheel like when inspecting our character. Some weapons when you inspect the camera is so close to the gun you can't even see it all.

Teamwipe cash penalties felt like an integral part of the game.

Without them seems to have simplified the engagement strategy of teams. Now instead of risking cash loss, its pretty straight forward to go "fight them" ... especially for some extra cash.

This dilutes some of the more nuanced strategy which was previously possible in that last minute of the match to still qualify.

ok Embark, we need to talk about the LH1.

I understand you tried to make the gun accessible, but you made too many changes all at once, made it too easy to use while also making it stronger to the point where everyone and their dog started using it, and then you nerfed the damage effectively making it worse than it was all season 1 and 2 and now nobody is using it, including people like me who mained it (was literally the only light weapon I used besides throwing knives for funsies before they were buffed).

I mained the LH1 since beta, probably over 700 hours, I was one of the first, if not the first person to level 6 it, and it was in a good state in season 1 and 2, it was a high skill weapon and people couldn't just start using it and do well immediately, you had to learn it. No one complained that it was too strong, I doubt no one complained about it being too hard to use and nobody asked for any changes to it, if you went purely by usage numbers, they are probably lower than ever before.

How I feel about the current LH1 is that it does 1 less damage now than it did pre-OP buff and it fires WAAYYYY slower (which means the chances of dying and leaving your enemy at 3-5hp (or more now) happens WAY more frequently since chances are you didn't even get that last shot off because of the slower fire rate), and the recoil while TECHNICALLY being better (on paper), in combination with the fire rate nerf makes the gun feel very terrible to use.

Since you failed at making it accessible, and only succeeded in pissing off the people who spent hundreds of hours mastering it, I believe what should be done (and should have been done from the start) is just revert it back to season 2 state, fire speed, recoil, EVERYTHING, and then increase the damage up to 50 damage a shot so there are less instances of dying while your enemy has 3-5 hp which was the only issue anyone who used the LH1 had with it. Recoil needs to be high to negate it's strength as it was and fire rate needs to be reverted to a faster rpm to allow spamming at close range (if you can fight the recoil), and maybe if you want also give it the accuracy while standing still buff that it got too.

Because of the current state of the LH1 I wouldn't even consider myself a light main anymore as I play more medium than anything now (if I'm playing seriously), and if I do play light I play stupid fuck-around loadouts with the shotgun or throwing knives and don't take it seriously which is the light behavior that everyone hates.

Please reconsider what I consider to be a giant failure attempt to fix what wasn't really broken.

Feedback for the new cashout mode

The steal changes are fine

The team wipe is not:
+ less third parties (theoretically)
-hoplesness/impossibility of changing the game which was a unique gameplay aspect of TF
-too much imbalance in terms of money distribution between different cashouts:
basically if a team cashes out the first 10k vault and the second 15k they qualified no matter what

Proposed changes: 1) change the money amount in the three different vaults 
                    +solves money distribution problem
                    -introduces "inflation" as in only the last vault is truly important
                  2) revert wipe changes but with tweaks:
                        a) incremental wipe amounts (1st wipe = -5k, 2nd wipe -10k and so on and tweak the numbers accordingly)
                        b) dont take money away from wiped team but give 33% of it to the team responsible for the wipe

The changes to the 93r are good
reduce draw time for the bow by 0,5s

remove or rework the winchclaw
+fun for the heavy
-very oppressive for everyone else

proposed rework:
-remove ability to grapple players
+grant ability to interact with buildings
if the grapple makes the light go towards the building grappled

Light is a low health class / easy to kill so it needs mobility ... They can be 1 shot by RPG, Land Mine, Claw

Dash was useful for moving in and out of the fight or chasing/running from the enemies

Every change made to Cashout revert it. No team wipe means no risk to just running around the wipe wiping teams. A double Cashout is a guaranteed first place and qualification. Initial thoughts: Teamwipe penalty being removed sounds boring. It makes team wipes matter a lot less. I think it is a core part of the way cashout functions.

Without the penalty, there are less incentive to stick with the team. And the game overall feels less thrilling.

The new incentives for putting in the vault is interesting. I can see the idea behind it alleviating 3rd parties.

Alternatively, you can reward the cash based on how long the player has held the cashout as a percentage too.

A suggestion for recon senses:

Recon senses can only have an effect within the line of sight of the player. (Up to 30m)

Players within range have the detected notification displayed. Also visually, a glitch like grid will be visible showing the area of effect of the recon senses being used by the enemy.

It could have a similar cooldown as before but also be toggled on and off. However, each use has a high cost to reactivate.

I like the change to deposits but I really don't like the lack of punishment for team wipes.

I also feel like the kill reward is too high now. $200 was meaningful because you were able to bridge the gap in the final moments, BUT that came along with the risk that you could get wiped and get knocked out.

Now there is an incentive to just jump off the map to wipe rather than risking a defib/rez and giving the other team ANOTHER $500 to levy against you.

TLDR: Keep/tweak the deposit bonus. Bring back team wipe penalty. Revert cash to $200 per kill

Chipping in to add to everyone else that teamwipe penalties are sorely missed already. A better alternative to easing off the punishment with teamwipes would be just reducing the time spent waiting to get back in the game. As it is, there is a ton of unnecessary downtime and nobody wants to spent half a minute just staring at the screen waiting to play the game. I'd much rather lose 30% on teamwipe if I can get back into the game in, say, half the time.

Also, god damn we are two months deep into this season and there hasn't been a single change to the dual blades?? These things suck. Knives are OP, maybe XP could get a tiny range nerf, and invis should be replaced. So as a result of these of things dash gets nerfed. It was never a problem till terminal attack(mostly invis players) and tk buff.

I actually really like the cashout changes so far. The game is faster paced, and I have the feeling nobody is standing around doing nothing anymore.

Controversially I think even the cash wipe penalty removal is a good thing, as today I felt so much less stressed out playing the mode then earlier, playing with randoms wasnt a pain anymore. But maybe introduce some sort of extra tactical disadvantage to wiping out. Currently its only the time out timer, but I wouldnt increase that any more because that just gets tedious. So maybe something else to some incentive not to wipe.

It feels as if the matches are slightly more static now, and not as swingy. Which is a pro and a con at the same time. It takes away a little bit of the hype. But allows solid teams to lock in wins more, without feeling bound by luck.
The downside being if you are in last it feels somewhat hopeless to continue on. Yet ive seen some last sec steals by doubling the last cashbox. So maybe that will just become the tactic now. This does make the match end in a 4 team frenzy tho, which depends on who you ask is either huge fun, or incredibly frustrating. But the increased steal timer helps to defend cashouts better.

Ranked Cashout has been my video game addiction since I played this game.

The changes to cashout do little to fix any of the desired issues in fact they do the opposite.

The biggest mistake and really the only one that needs to be changed asap is the "no cash lost on team wipe"

This adds so many problems, why not suicide push a team? Why not third party? That's where the $500 kills are now. Why not quick wipe to reset?

Coins are useless now in like 80% of situations now, since wiping is free and without consequence, unless time is pressed they're worthless.

$500 a kill really does nothing and 30% of the vault at deposit does nothing but encouraging decent teams to double stack, especially the first cashout.

You'll also see first place teams double stack at the end so that there's zero chance they can lose.

Should bring back cash lost on team wipe and change how cashout at vault works.

Divide the cashout into thirds, every 40 seconds of holding you get 30% of the cash with the last 40 seconds being worth 40%.

This rewards actually holding for longer, gives counter play to just placing vault in, and actually promotes an urgency to taking the vault instead of waiting around to third party.

when someone dies and does not get revived it costs money from cashouts to respawn
1st respawn costs 1k , second 2k, third 3k and so on (numbers can be tweaked)
this could work like buyback in team battle royales.
the pool is shared for the whole team and that could create intresting turnouts for example
-teammates going aggro to get enough cash to get all teammates back
-teammates unlock vault and/or put vault in cashbox to get cash to revive
-teams could also decide to try to engage in asymmetrical gunfights (2v3 or 1v3) as to not spend money to respawn teammates and risk losing
this would create a high risk high reward play and make the game more intresting while also reducing the hopelessness currently in the system

as to deter from just wiping to get free respawns you already have the time penalty which could lose the team a successful cashout , and could be prolongued to 30s wait on wipe

third partying is the biggest problem in finals right now for competitive play, if you play it that way (which most people do in wt). The squad third partying deals with weakened squads, sometimes just one or two members with low hp left to defend with fewer abilities to a fully charged up, 100% hp team. third partying is worse than games like pubg or fortnite or even apex.

If you played as a squad who took the initiative to unlock a cashbox, maybe after fighting a team and defend that from an attack while cashing it out, you would understand how clearly unfair it is for them to be not rewarded for it and having to fight a zero balls team who is too scared to take a 1 on 1 fight with any squad. But i doubt you did.

What made the finals fun was the adrenaline, the chaos that didnt necessarily have to be from third partying, it was the new feel of a game with a destructible enviroment, with abilities, with raw chaotic gameplay and last minute snatches that made it fun, but people started abusing a lot of stuff meant to make the game fun, to focus simply on the winning moments rather than actually going through the grind of the game to win.

your point is that, the less mechanically skilled players in AN FPS GAME should be rewarded for pure strategy and mediocre fighting skills?
then i doubt you've played a lot of hours on fps games. any fps game requires mechanical skills like aiming, moving , shooting, recoil control etc. Finals is not a farming simulator or chess. it's an fps game at the end of the day.

The only change i agree on being bad is the wipeout penalty being removed because it caters to the less mechanically skilled frivolous players who want free wins and easy objectives without putting in effort and getting away with terrible decisions. every effort needs to be rewarded, whether it's killing, managing to get a cashbox to the station or defending it to the very end. every fps game rewards you for something but very commonly they all reward you for grinding your mechanical skills as a raw player rather than just strategising because if you played fps games, you would know a 200 iq trash aimer, wouldnt outdo a person with battle iq and mechanical skills in a 1v1, and every single day situations like these occur innumerable times.

From playing today I think that the new changes to cashout are pretty healthy and makes the gamemode less frustrating. Healing beam nerf is very good but the rpg nerf is long overdue. Every fight against a heavy begins with a rpg then winchclaw and flamethrower. Its the most boring thing ever and requires zero skill.

Depositing a vault should not be so valuable. Currently 10k gives 3k, 15k gives 5k, and 22k gives 7.5k. If you deposit the first 3 vaults then you’d be at 15.5k, you could of course split up and have your other teammates deposit the others without any penalty for team wipes. Depositing vaults takes very little skill but is very rewarding with these changes and ultimately makes the game less competitive.

On top of all that nonsense, $500 per kill is just overkill especially when teams can now grief and third party without any repercussions.

I only ever play world tour and the update has really made me think twice about playing this game. Really enjoyed it up until this update

Stun gun has way too much reach and should be considered a short range gadget - It is ridiculously over powered for a light gadget. Personally I believe this should be something that is looked at

The per kill up to £500 is too much and definitely should be increased from the 200 but to a 300 - its been increased over 100%!!

Lastly the no penalty for team wipe just completely removes the strategy element and should encourage teams to have think instead of just grief other teams. Having some type of penalization is needed to avoid no repercussions of team wipes, it actually promotes any team to get wipes because there is simply no reason to not die unless of time

  2. Team that have one teammate that left the game shouldn't have penalty.

The one thing I don’t like about no penalties now is that the first place has no limiters anymore. Consider this situation: 1 team more or less dominates the lobby and there is a fight between 2nd and 3rd team (and somewhere there is the 4th team trying to make a comeback) while with previous rules 1st team stand aside to save their position (most of the time) not interrupting others much without risking their cash, now 1st team just goes all in without any thoughts and sometimes 2nd place qualification is decided by whoever 1st place didn’t roll during cash outs 5 and 6.

I do love the change to the vault icon showing immediately with directional indicators so you dont run 100m in the wrong direction at the start, and the grapple feels much better now with the cooldown reduction, but we really need some consistency with trees and the grappling hook. On skyway and syshorizon im constantly getting hung up on trees when trying to grapple something passed the trees, but then in other instances on other maps when I try to purposely grapple on trees I can't, but in some cases I can. The grapple shouldn't attach to the ends of tree branches to stop it from grappling trees when you don't intend to, and all trees if you aim for the trunk area should grapple.

A player can host a server with custom made settings. Infinite timer, limitless rules, kick players, ban players, mod the server, add scripts etc. This is for a more chill mode that anyone can join and leave anytime anyday for a more relaxing or showing off cosmetics. Players can scroll through lists of servers on the main menu that is available. Favourite or history any server related.

World tour to expirment is fine, but when its the only real way to play cashout your just pushing players who like cashout over your other game modes away . At a glance, this update feels like it's diminishing the strategic aspects of cashout in favor of rewarding raw mechanical skill more consistently, which I don't really like the idea of.

The very common complaint was that teams that spent the round dominating deserve to win and teams that were having a rough time deserved to lose when this wasn't necessarily the case, but to be honest, I feel like that's kind of an ego-driven complaint. Being able to faceplant at the last second and lose it all or come back from a position of extreme weakness is a big part of what makes cashout consistently exciting to play, and there have to be better ways to smooth over third partying screwing over players who believe they don't deserve to lose than making them basically invulnerable once they've taken a solid lead.

Ok so, first impressions on the cashout changes

I didnt really notice the increased cash on eliminations, but that may just be because its only the first day and i need more games
But rewarding skill/kills more is good (unless everyone, for example, decides to go rpg or something and 1 shot everyone for cash)

Im somewhat indifferent on the removal of cash loss on wipe
Theoretically, it is better
Players dont get punished harder (on wipe) for performing well, thats nice
Some people say that winning becomes impossible after some point, because you cant wipe first place to catch up, but to be honest, it was already like that before sometimes
And if youre in first place with a big lead then you (theoretically) earned it, and should have decent safety
But i also dont really feel the difference at the moment, time will tell

And lastly, more money on starting a cashout (mostly) doesnt adress the 3rd party issue

If you fought over the cashbox, then the extra reward you get at the start is nice and adequate
But sometimes you just get the vault, run to the cashout, and put it in without opposition, in which case the money isnt really earned

If then a team comes along and steals it, they get a tiny amount of money for stealing, and they still might get it all stolen last second by a 3rd party anyways, while they had to put in more effort than the guys that started the cashout

In my opinion, the solution should be to award decent money for performance, so:
-Kills (like you did)
-Putting in vaults (like you did)

What you should do:
-Award more money for stealing a cashout

That way, all efforts get rewarded a bit more fairly, and getting 3rd partied last second wont matter quit as much

Ill probably come back again after the holtow cup to give some better informed feedback

1sr place team on this game has the advantage of freedom of choice while last place teams most of the times had less variables to tweak and were forced to play the most dire strategy. Team wipe penalty allowed last place teams to punish first place for making wrong choices (not regrouping, overextending, not gatekeeping cash box properly). That hurst punishment for the team in 1st place may seem like a punishment for being the 1st place, but again, it’s actually a punishment for making a bd choice when you literally have more options. Removing team wipe penalties allows 1st place teams to completely abandon strategy play and just go for whatever.

Light 100% needs to be nerfed some more, every power shift or terminal attack game I play there is at least 3 lights on a team if not 4 or the whole team. If that's happening there's a reason why, everyone knows how powerful they are. For those saying "light has nothing" "light doesn't need to be nerfed" etc., need to try playing as any other class against a light majority team. It's a miracle if the other team has only 1 or 2 lights as each team should. That or I suggest limiting the number of how many people can play a class per team, for every class.

you're comparing a game in which 1v1 fights are long lived in many cases and hp and damage works very slowly compared to other fps games where you can wipe people quickly if you have the correct aiming and movement and most of those "50 team" games have a large open world with vehicles and everything to assist you to atleast run away instead of fighting unlike finals. maybe play some more fps games before making such an asinine argument based on a terrible juxtaposition.

finals relies HEAVILY on gadgets, especially if you play light or heavy you need that dash or that winch or that shield to help you win fights, and those are limited by their usage and refills. thus giving an advantage to third partying squads who have it recharged, and another example of your stupid comparision with 50 squad battle royale games is the fact you can heal yourself in those without having to wait for a cooldown that is predecided by the game.

the only trash can here is that attitude of yours, thinking if you're "different" you're right. that is similar to the way psychopaths and sociopaths think so congratulations. just because you think differently and spend 13 hours ranting on this channel doesnt mean people open it and form their opinions based off it, we actually play the game like normal people and not fitting in a community like this isnt a flex.

Make wipes take away 15% of cash and the people who did the wiping get that 15% that they lost + a base amount of $1000 so its still worth to try to wipe a team even if they have nothing.

nerf lights, mostly sniper, as they benefit hugely from this cash buff. If not, they can just stand at the top of the temple in kyoto and farm cash for the team while contributing nothing to the objective (the nerf doesn't need to be too drastic, but in light of recent buffs [no pun intended] it is definitely necessary)

give ~25% of the cash for inserting a cashbox, 25% for reaching the halfway mark or maybe the 3/4 way, and then 50% for finishing the cashout. This means lagging teams still get a fighting chance at the end of the game but the leaders can maintain their lead. One of the defining features of cashout is its dynamic "turning of the tables" style of play, where you can clutch at the last minute. This still preserves that, but makes it more fair and consistent.

To make third-partying less effective, maybe employ some tactics where wiping activates regen or gadget cooldown reset, etc.

All these minutia are bound to be confusing for new players, so embark needs to make a proper tutorial explaining all this.

Please revert these new world tour changes. You guys are ruining the core gamemode. At this point it's not objective based anymore. there is no more strategy. Now people can just go for kills and there's no risk reward anymore. Instead of being like we have to wipe a team to make it now it doesn't matter. or atleast keep the teams losing money and try the new stuff. Having no risk reward now just makes people camp. What if there were a mechanic in cashout that allowed defenders to directly "fortify" the vault, making it take significantly longer to steal, or something like that? People want more tangible benefits to "doing well" and holding the vault, and I prefer the idea of tactical benefits that give your team more control over the fight like that instead of just making holding the vault at the end less valuable and important.

I miss in the beginning when Embark said they wouldn’t be changing the game based on the volume of community whining. Progressive payouts makes comebacks from third or fourth place impossible. That would be even less fair than it is currently in terms of steamrolling. At least 25% is wasted running to a cashout, fighting over it means you can get 50-75% of the cashout even though you lose it for poor play.

I personally think team wipe penalty needs to come back, but the 30% deposit bonus and cash increase for kills stays. Those changes both encourage aggressive play and rushing cashout without removing penalties for bad team coordination or being outplayed. If you keep the higher cash for kills, then fighting your way to steal a cashout can let a strong and coordinated fourth place team win.

With no team wipe penalty then inting and griefing once you’re in first place is free to do which makes the game more toxic and third party-heavy.

My suggestion which I think is novel - give a cash bonus if you kill a full team, give 33% of that bonus if you get two kills on a team wipe; and no bonus for a single kill which causes a wipe. This way if you get a full 3v3 team wipe, but get third partied and lose the cashout, you at least have a decent padding. Also lets the dominant teams climb the ladder and filter up.

I really think that polls should be put into the game itself, just a basic question and a basic answer set for each thing an example being "How do you feel about the changes made to goo burn times" with the answers being a regular range of "great / ok / neutral / bad / awful.

Then they can have something like "How do you feel about the removal of the team wipe penalty from cashout" with answers like "It's fine as it is / It's good but need improvement or changed / it's bad but could be changed to be good / it needs to be reverted"

And offer a reward of a few multibucks for filling out the poll, this would incentivise many players to give feedbck, and since every player doesn't use discord or reddit, it would reach a much wider range of the playerbase giving much more accurate data on how the players feel about changes made.

I placed somewhere in the top 20 in the community event. I wish I'd had more time, but I prioritized showing the people closest to me to love they deserve in these difficult times. The event was a blast!

If I were to be granted one wish it would be releasing the hostages, stopping the bombing, and the invaders fully retreating in Ukraine. I'd wish that all the souls of all the animals I've consumed or bugs I've swatted, big and small could find their way into the AI machine future, as living AI could be an extension of their souls. And maybe I'd get to play games like the Finals with them, although I'd never know it.

On a more practical list I'd wish for a dueling game mode. Tournament structure, 7 second rounds. if no player is defeated it's a draw. 56 start, 1 leaves. 1v1 me bro. You could do 7 at a time, 14 player lobbies. cordon off small patches of each map, spawns where neither player has a distinct advantage. Shuffle the spawns so that everyone gets a chance to face off against everyone else. Math is involved. Top 7 players move on. On the final round whoever has placed #1 gets to spectate the other 6 go through their 1v1 rounds. so that #1 has advantage of knowing their competitor's strategy.

A little Afro Samurai, a litte nod to Kurosawa, and hey, if you cannot defeat your opponent in 7 seconds, then it's not an opponent you can defeat =p

Would get some great data on weapon/ability balance, but more importantly be a kind of pressure cooker for players to learn combos, what works, what doesn't. A lot of players I meet just don't understand the mechanics of say the dual katanas, never played SWBF2, didn't get the training. Some in-game videos demonstrating how certain abilities or weapons are used would be very valuable for onboarding and retention.

Winch going through shield is a good counter, otherwise there’s no real benefit for using winch. You can have heavies stack bubbles and mesh shields and always protect a cashout or push uninterrupted. Lights get glitch grenades, medium glitch mine, heavy winch.

Let me do something about terminal attack. No matter what they do, lights will always be the dominant one in that Game mode. Beginning zone, without even getting sniped. And on top of that. I can't get any good teammates so I can't ring up. I went from gold one back to silver. It not enjoyable anymore.

World tour is more quick cash than ranked cashout now. I play it because it feels like s2 ranked and I enjoy that. There needs to be some sort of cash penalty for wiping. Firstly because it teaches people how to not die rather than run into a cashout that has 15 seconds left and you’re already in first place but you have no reason not to because you can’t lose anything.

I am top 50 in WT (not a brag, just work from home so I am basically playing ) I went from 6-7 hours of play time a day… to 1 hour today. The removal of team wipe is literally awful.

Has zero incentive now for strategies that made this game fun. It’s simply a light fest of opening vaults and farming kills. Zero regard to worrying about coins.

I was weak earlier, and just killed myself so my team could respawn.

PLEASE revert back to the wipe bonus. It literally is needed. I feel like I’m playing a watered down version of COD or another generic FPS.

Embark I am BEGGING you to "fix" the dematerializer. Three times in the last match I got killed because the floor section I chose to fall through had a goddamn light fixture in the way or I grabbed a skinny beam instead of a wall chunk.

Just buff it to take away a chunk in front of you regardless of what it is. Take away a charge if you need to. Just make it fking consistent.

Third parties are a problematic and annoying strategy that was encouraged by the cashout system, but everything else ur saying is, to me, that you don’t like having a cool down on gadgets and health regen.

Gadgets are a major part of the game and if ur able to properly use them or manage them to plan AHEAD of fights/encounters, say, saving a grenade or two in case of a third party, you’ll be able to counter the scummy third party. And jf ur low on health, either ask a teammate to heal you (if they have healing), or hide in a corner until you regenerate, 7-12 seconds is not a long time.

Mentioning key aspects of the game such as health regen and gadget cooldowns tells me that you haven’t played any other game besides either fortnite or COD, so, respectfully, either learn to play with these features and play around the difficulties such as third parties, or just leave the game and play fortnite.

Had people rage quit early on because the game felt lost. Lack of wipe penalty has made this game incredibly frustrating. I was the only one left on my team. Just emoted the whole time. This update has ruined the game mode. The top 2 teams were basically going uncontested.

This game has become so bad. The meta is just extremely unfun to play against. Like 80% of games are heavies with sledge and lights. You'll be fighting and around the corner comes a 3rd party with sledge and winch. Unfun

Why is World Tour and Terminal Attack the first thing you see when you press play? I get SO MANY new players on World Tour that it's not even funny. They don't even know how the game works half the time. Not to mention the recent changes added to the "No Penalty" thing. If you're a squad of 3 on a discord call, it's already ggs from there. It was already like that before, now they don't get penalties for being wiped.

What the fuck are you talking about, I don’t leave ranked games but when my teammates do and I decide to stay the whole game and get destroyed for the new 30 minutes it’s frustrating, even more when I lose RS and no hope that someone will take the rage quitters spot. I’ve personally never left a ranked game but people leave my lobbies all the time for no reason other than rage quitters and sore losers.

Removing the teamwipe penalty is absolutely insane.
I can only assume the reasoning is to put less focus on killing and reduce the number of pointless teamfights where neither team benefits anything...

Instead, it just makes catching up to other teams much more challenging and frustrating.

As for the 30% cash on depositing, I think this is a terrible decision.
Not only does it fundamentally change how Cashout plays, but it also incentivises players to simply grab vaults early and deposit, and then not defend it at all...

What's the point in defending when you can just grab the next vault?
Even if your cashout gets stolen, you will likely have more than enough time to come back and thirdparty to steal it back.

Any decision that moves away from incentivising defending the cashout is a bad decision in my eyes.

Ok so just played, or should I say attempt to play my first couple games after the changes.

First off I don’t know what happened but I can’t even get through a single game without massive lag spikes. This has never been a problem before.

Second, the changes are actual dog poop. While I can semi understand the 30% gained from inputting a cash out box I completely and whole heartedly disapprove of the decision to remove team wipe penalties. The game mode no longer has any recourse to it and the team on top will remain the team on top in my experience. There is no ā€œcoming backā€ or underdog pulling a last minute clutch that changes the game.

Embark, congratulations cause you’ve completely cut the nuts off of cash out like a junkyard dog. The same mode that made y’all’s game appealing and different is slowly being destroyed by the same people who created it. Sad day.

I would like to post here so people see and remember. The changes to Cashout are temporary, it is supposed to be a testing ground to "fix" cashout for season 4 ranked. It will hopefully be reverted in 2 weeks, as much as it needs reverted now.

I petition that they add a way to play regular cashout with the team wipe penalty enabled, they could very easily make it an option like how you can play either ranked or unranked TA.

EDIT: guava if you have something you want to say, don't forget you can always edit your message, it'd hard to keep a conversation here, but not impossible for a simple reply.

Embark I’m gonna be real. I don’t know what you’re doing, but I’m finding it harder and harder to keep positive. I keep seeing things that had no issue (like dash) get slapped around while problematic stuff like TK or flammer or stun gun or winch that are genuinely opressive are just left alone. I love that you guys are so open to experimenting, but I feel like at time you experiment as opposed to fixing the genuine issues. This patch feels like a pizza that’s got a burnt crust and there’s like burnt bits throughout it. It’s tasty but those burnt bits just really suck. I think the WT changes were great excluding the wipe removal, I think the 93R wasn’t really buffed in any meaningful way, I think that grapple was buffed but not in a way that really makes it a great option (give it another charge already lol). I think you guys should just sit down for the next few patches and focus on implementing balance stuff the community really wants to be put in, and save the crazy experimental mode reworks and stuff for after you’ve cleaned house.

I also have a suggestion for a throwing knives rework:
6 round mag, 3.5 second reload. Basic throw throws one knife for 60 damage, the knife headshots at 1.5x. Alt fire is the standard two knife throw at 100 body shot damage and it headshots for 190.

I genuinely love this game, but I’m finding it less and less fun to play. Clean house before you start doing crazy renovations, please.

I agree that removing penalty loss is wrong idea. There was always a risk when you fight with someone that you can lose and you can be eliminated because you lose a lot of money. Penalty made you more careful what you are doing. Also a lot of times i liked to try kill strongest team in the game to eliminate them and let pass some weaker teams which is easier for me in the next rounds to win the game(if we are talking ranked mode in previous season). So i think they should get it back and also, add overtime so you need to fight for cashouts to the very end. I lost many time because i lacked like 1 or 0.5 seconds to stole cashout. (sorry for poor english boys, i am lazy to learn it better)

I'm a strong believer that any change to Cashout that changes the 100% cash on completion is a bad decision.
However, I would gladly take your idea over Embark's current decision.

As it stands now, there's no point in defending your cashout, you can deposit and go straight for the next vault.
Even if your cashout gets stolen, you will likely have more than enough time to come back and thirdparty to steal it back.
(and there's no downsides from a teamwipe, so that 30% cash is always secure).

Personally, I think they need to focus on buffing the defending team's capability to defend.
I would do this by giving each class defense-specific buffs that only activate while defending a cashout.
(this is so they're not too powerful in regular teamfights and when stealing)

Everyone stop whining. The devs are doing an amazing job. The only mistake I think the devs made was nerfing recoil on the lmgs because for the most part now it’s not super fun to use the weapons on. The game is more balanced than it was in season 2, and by extension much more balanced in season 1. Every class can see success with a variety of builds, gadgets, and weapons. Some need buffs like 93R and Dual Blades but for the most part the game has been getting better.

Can you please adjust the matchmaking when playing in solo queue. I don't think it's fair in any case that playing in solo queue I get matched with people playing in premade. Not everyone feels like communicating and I can't force my teammates to communicate. The advantage that premade offers is completely crushed and it ends up hurting the experience playing alone.

Please consider this point. Many people quit the game because of things like this. If you want fairer games first start by adjusting the basics.

Take for example you are on the final cashout of the round if the team who is in 3rd place is cashing out then the teams on the 2nd an 4th will be fighting for the cashout since both of them have a chance to save themselves and in that scenario the team who is 1st will also wanna fight for more money since who does'nt like more money and plus you can advance in the leaderboard easily. Now there is another team who is gonna irritate you cuz even if they get team wiped they have no punishment to loose money. Before teams were careful when 1st position when to go or not unless they are really cracked at the game, but most people are not. Now just jump in try you have nothing to loose. The thing where you get 30% extra for putting the vault in the cashout is a good decision cause that now puts pressure on the teams to start a cashout for extra cash. But the teamwipe thing is bad cause there is no risk factor involved in the game now which was a good thing before and added some sort of thrill to the game. Before people had to use their limited tokens to respawn if 1 teammate was left in order to save money from not getting team wiped now you may as well get team wiped no need for using coins. There is not much thinking involved. Plus even in quick cash there is third party that mode is all about third party but since its a casual mode you dont get team wipe loss or extra money for kills. People should have gotten used to third party from the start because of quick cash and should've considered a possibility of 3rd parties i don't know why they did'nt. But in competitive these changes just makes the mode more casual. This is what I think. Plus getting $500 on each kill is ok even though I'm 50-50 about it but the team wipe loss change in my opinion should get reverted, it just makes competitive more casual. I really love this game and I really want it to succeed this is one of the best FPS games out there.

I don't think the change to WT made it less strategic by any noticeable amount, team wipes still give you a 20 second penalty which is crucial towards the end of matches.
Overall, I still think there should be atleast some sort of cash penalty for team wipes though.

These cashout changes have nerfed almost all of the benefits of third partying, rewarded starting and defending cashouts, and also increased the skill gap by making the first 2 sets of cashouts matter so much more. No more of the worst team getting some fluke win because they stole while two other teams fought. Not only is cashout is playing sooooo much more competitive now, it feels like the rules now encourage playing the game the way it should've always been played - I couldn't ask for much more. chefkiss

I really like this WT update. I think it is something new and refreshing and now begins to reward players for playing the game. I think the removal of the loss of cash on a wipe makes the game mode feel less strategic than it was before. The lack of a punishment for wiping makes gunfights and positioning and timing, less important than before. I think finding a good middle ground of 15%-20% would be great. The new spawns locations is refreshing. Can't wait to see what is next for WT and the finals.
