I have played over two hundred hours of The Finals. There is one huge problem I see with the game.

The biggest problem with cash out and similar modes is that you only get a single huge chunk of money at the very end of the cash out. This makes it easy for you to get third partied at the very end of the cash out, when there’s no chance of stealing it back. Also, it makes you feel like you guarded the objective the whole time for no reason whatsoever.

Instead, you should get set amounts of cash at intervals, instead of all at once, split into three intervals (one third done, two thirds done, and done done).

The first and second intervals would give the same amount of cash, with the third and last interval giving the most. I see two optimal scenarios. Either the first two intervals would give $2,500 each and the last would give $5,000, or the first two intervals would give $3,000 with the last giving $4,000. I prefer the second scenario more.

The new cashout increased the 3rd party problem, it's very flagrant right now in the twitch rivals stream. Embark should really finetune it the otherway, I'd rather spawn less and far away than having to fight 6 people all the time.

-RPG > damage reduced DMG from 140 to 90.
-Winch hook > remove ability to hook player, lower cooldown.(yes really)
-Mesh shield > Reduced HP from 1000 to 750.
-M60 > increase damage drop off range by 10 meters.
-Lewis gun > cleanup the recoil pattern to be less aggressive horizontaly.
-Charge and slam > reduce damage by half so you cant instantly kill M.

Medium:
-Turret > Add a attack delay of 0.3s so it doesnt instantly shoot you.

Please rebalance revolver it is in such a bad place rn because its balanced around being close range (for some reason) while having a pretty long reload and a terrible hip fire (why???). Grapple heavies, dual swords, and throwing knife/lh1 spam lights make it so incredibly unfun and unviable to play this season. Either nut up and give it +1 dmg to 1 tap a light close range with a bit less ROF to give it a viable niche as a closer range skill shot weapon, or give it greatly increased hip fire accuracy and a slightly shorter reload time to let it actually be a close range weapon, or just expand the range kinda like how it used to be to actually make it semi viable in medium to slightly longer ranges. Trying to ads people literally touching you feels TERRIBLE and trying to hip fire is basically playing the lottery with it (you usually lose). I'm usually a revolver main since it felt at least decent for a while (with the exception of the hipfire) but I just cant bring myself to use it anymore and I really want it to have a place in the game again.

Discussed this with a content creator I follow.

So I made an "M11 is underpowered in Season 3" post here on #👂┇game-feedback not too long ago, but I didn't know it was this bad. Other close ranged weaponry such as light's sword, LH1, V9S, throwing knives, SH1900 outside of other classes like the AKM (which got a fire rate buff, on top of the medium's superior health) are superior to that of the M11 in terms of sheer TTK.

In order for M11 to be in line with the other light weapons, it needs a fire rate buff.

If I have to hit somebody with skillshot (read fire one at a time, not automatic) 5 times and it takes at least 8 sec( if I am lucky and good enough to land 5/5) to do it and he deletes me in 2 seconds with 3/5 of magazine, it is not skill issue.

I know most players here are casual ones with low skill but adjusting game to them and not to be balanced is dumb af.

I have to say, cashout got a lot better since I climbed a little and the horrible first weekend is behind us. It's still a bit messy and crowded but I get good, likeminded teammates consistently. So credit where credit is due. I still do not like TA though, it's not there yet, at all.

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK. A lot of people don't get this about Light in general. I can go 20-30 kills in a game with Light but that doesn't mean Light is good or needs nerf. The problem arises when you go higher up in the ladder against people who understand the game better and they are better players in general. Against those people Light is poo poo. It would be a miracle if I dropped even 10 kills.

LH1 is a step towards the right direction for light because of the damage payoff. Finally people are starting to understand how lower HP -> higher damage and vice versa.

Love getting a matchmaking suspension because the game gets stuck on a loading screen and then when I force quit, the game takes literally 10 minutes to open just to freeze again at the end of the next match. Also Terminal Attack as the new comp mode is the worst thing I've ever seen. Gonna be dreaming about season 2 like I do about 2016.

The winch claw into KS shotgun and melee leaves zero room for counter play as light. You are instantly dead if you get clawed.

I can’t think of any way to fix this without making either part non viable, but something needs to change. My best idea is removing or limiting the claws ability to grab players.

I have genuinely never been as baffled at a development decision as I have been with whatever Season 3 is supposed to be.

This last update is the equivalent of Valve saying
"Screw CS2, we're making our game a Battle Royale now"
Effectively replace your main ranked gamemode with a mode that is a whole different game

You:

  • Have amazing gunplay
  • Unique Mode that is universally loved
  • High TTK
  • Health Regen, allowing for constant repositioning and re engaging
  • A large and dedicated playerbase
    You then
    Push a melee/sniper meta, meaning that the best aspect of your combat (gunplay) is almost worthless
  • Replace the ranked mode with another typical S&D mode w/ destruction (Budget Siege), ruining your originality
  • Keep the High TTK, but basically remove health regen, meaning your game is indecisive on if it wants to be a CS/Siege style high risk/reward mental game or an Apex/Fortnite tracking heavy/movement heavy game, leading to a mode that just sucks to play because it can't decide what it even is.
  • BUT keep basically the same MASSIVE maps, meaning that rounds can feel super drawn out as you search for their last player hiding in one of the 200 fully accessible buildings, or that defending points = holding 360 degrees worth of angles, instead of traditional entryways/chokepoints (LIKE IN GAMES THAT ARE ACTUALLY BUILT FOR THIS MODE!!!!), as the dramatically more destructive nature of the game means whatever building the point is in will just be knocked down in seconds (think Battlefield meets Red Faction)

WHY ARE DUAL BLADES BETTER AT BLOCKING DAMAGE THAN RIOT SHIELD?

  • Blocks everything in your view, including your arms and feet, whereas Riot Shield is very vulnerable where your feet are always exposed and arms are nearly always exposed
  • Blocks melee damage
  • Attacks faster and deals much greater damage per second
  • No movement speed penalty
  • Doesn't obstruct your view when blocking
  • It's not very obvious that you're blocking, which can fool people into shooting you
  • Reflects all ranged damage back at attacker

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD UP TO PAR WITH DUAL BLADES:

  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can and do easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it. Not to mention bullets seem to go through all the time somehow, the player-model hitbox seems to constantly clipping through the shield.
  • While blocking and attacking, movement speed should be the same as walking (yes yes I know all the techs)
  • Blocking melee attacks could inflict a knockback/stun, and reduce melee damage significantly. Riot Shield is currently hard countered by all other melee weapons.
  • Increase melee range or attack speed slightly OR reduce wind-up duration when swinging the baton.
  • Remove the turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it much much harder to look around, especially with such a narrow viewing window.

RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, sometimes the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.

Riot Shield should at the very least do one thing reliably, and that is BLOCK damage. Nerf the rest of it I don't really care as long as I can use it to survive. BLOCKING is the Riot Shield's core feature and it should be the best weapon in the game to do that.

Day 93 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored two bullets every second, 100 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, you’re probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no “pocket minigun” strats, choosing to use this mid-combat is a commitment, one that could get you killed.
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

Twitch Rivals was fun. Presentation could be better in future: Mix of free camera and player view. External camera would make image less hectic and team fights easier to understand. Why has the ability for players to reconnect into suspended games not been developed? Players may have their games interrupted due to many unforeseen events that cannot be defended against, such as server crashes, network outages, computer hardware failures, power outages, and other issues. Because of these times the player cannot re-enter the game and can even be banned for 10 minutes. This can make many players very sad. This seriously affects the gaming experience of a team (three or five players).

I believe that Terminal Attack could work as ranked this season if the gamemode was more forgiving.
In the original cashout mode even qualifying once was still a net positive in terms of RP. When I play TA and get an extremely close game I still receive a significant loss in RP. As a former Platinum player with almost 500 hours including Open Beta, I can't even get out of bronze even if my life depended on it.
Solo queuing is especially difficult now when rather then getting 2 teammates with varying skill levels you must now rely on 4.
I also feel as if getting a high combat, support, or objective score doesn't actually affect your overall ranking. If so it needs to be greatly increased.

Please adjust this for the sake of all of the competitive cashout players who just want to participate without immense frustration 🙏🏻

I think the devs overlooked how substantial all the buffs to light has been. With health regen shorter they can do without a medium healer becase they can back off from a fight quickly with all the escape options at their desposal and get back in quicker than anyone else. With the LH1 buffs to accuracy and damage and nerfs to other ranged weapons they dominate at medium to long range, they are almost uncontested, and with knives being so strong combined with dash and heavy reciving further nerfs to his kit, light dominates in close range combat as well. Now with sonar genade, they can know where you are, and they have more destruction options as well with the introduction of thermite. Like triple light team went from a meme to an absolute powerhouse: constant sonar, some of the best damage in the game at any range, escape options, fast regen, best mobility in the game, and the smallest frame in the game. I think he's by far the strongest class with an easy starting floor (this season, not previous) and the biggest skill cealing. So masters of the class dominate lobbies like Heavy use too when he was overtuned. Like you know his weapons are a problem when his previous overall best weapon, the xp-54, which did not get nerfed this patch, is never used becasue of how good his other weapons have become. And that's not even to mention how strong the bow is in capable hands, able to delete opponents at nearly any range despite being a bow becasue of its incredible travel speed, quick charge time, and very little drop in trajectory. It's become incredibly fustring to fight against him becasue he use to have a hit and run strategy where flanking and good positioning was king, now he can fight any class head on and his superior damage levels the playing filed. Why would you remove ranked cash and bring back now coz your community complaining and players stopped playing? Don't you even know what's your game build on?? This Season is fragging chaos, so many changes, so many things happened and all of them are hurting the game for sure.

Accept it you can't balance weapons coz your testing team can't think/play like common players. You either extreme buff or extreme Nerf but there won't be any middle ground for you. But why would players have to complain and remind you about changes on every patch?

It doesn't work with THE FINALS, I recommend switching to OBS and using the "Replay Buffer" feature. It works the same as Shadowplay, but less buggy and works every time.

Damn, I really enjoy Medium melees but they should fix the worst issue it has - chasing enemies. Simple buffing run speed for melee would be boring imo and not really fair, so I suggest these "buff" for shield and dblades to make them even more original:

  • for riot shield, give it a 0,5-1s slow debuff when hitting someone,
  • for dblades, increase the magnetism you when swinging at someone in close range, that would make you "stick" more to the enemies
    These would be fitting for both of them and actually rewarding for M and enabling to at least force fights if enemies allow you to get close. That wouldn't really impact dash Ls but these are uncatchable anyway

Context:
In the early stages of a competitive season in "The Finals," player ranks are generally lower due to the recent reset. This can lead to situations where victories against strong opponents are not adequately rewarded because their ranks were also low at the time of the match.

Proposal:
To ensure fair compensation for players' achievements, I propose a recalibration function that runs every 10 days. This function will analyze past matches and adjust the points awarded based on the current ranks of the opponents. The goal is to reward players more accurately for victories against opponents who have since ranked up significantly.

Example Scenario:

Initial Match: Player "stizzank" defeats a team early in the season, earning 34 points.
Rank Progression: The defeated team members are now ranked Ruby.
Recalibration: After 10 days, "stizzank" receives a message: "Hello, stizzank, you beat a team earlier this season and only earned 34 points. That team is now ranked Ruby. Here is a boost; you deserve it." The player is awarded additional points to reflect the higher current rank of the defeated team.
Implementation:
This recalibration function will run every 10 days and adjust points based on a formula that considers the difference between the opponents' ranks at the time of the match and their ranks at the time of recalibration.

Twitch Rivals only highlighted how oppressive the Heavy class is (and was since launch, despite taking various nerfs). This should be an EMERGENCY. Even Jay3 was having fun until he got slapped by double RPG.

You guys need to SIGNIFICANTLY reduce Heavy's offensive capabilities, or the game is never gonna have a balanced team comp meta, and double Heavy + Medium will always dominate.

You can do this with the following changes:

  • Make RPG deal HALF of its base damage when it doesn't direct hit someone, and lower its base damage to 120.
  • Lower Winch Claw's range from 17m to 10m, and put it on the full 14 second cooldown even when you miss + grab objects.
  • Make it so that you're unable to shoot through Dome Shield.
  • Halve the player damage of Charge n' Slam.
  • Minor RPM nerf to the SA1216 (ex. from 200 to 180)
  • Revert the Lewis Gun's recoil nerf, but make it kill distinctly slower than the M60 (ex. damage nerf from 22 to 20). It already has a range advantage anyway.
  • Make jump height on Jump Pad dependent on the weight of your class.
  • Make the speed on Zipline dependent on the weight of your class.
  • Significantly reduce the recharge time of Healing Beam, so that it can't just pocket anyone too easily.

Heavy has been killing the game with all sorts of non-skill-expressive gameplay SINCE LAUNCH. Nobody is interested in playing a competitive shooter where you get cheesed double RPG SA12 Slam all the time. Season 3 is your last chance to address these issues.

Heavy should ideally be a strong defensive class. He shouldn't also have the best and most versatile damage-dealing capabilities in the game.

I have played the finals for more than 400 hours, I liked this game for its cash collection gameplay. Ranked 5 vs 5? That's why there are many games on the market, I don't see the point in playing The Finals if it's not the game mode that differentiated it from the rest... a shame, I've totally lost interest in continuing to play.

I like World Tour. It is a nice blend between casual and competetive.
I'd love a bit more/different incentives tho. I don't really care about the multibucks.
Also the final round is a bit too boring/anticlimactic. There is a lot of waiting in between fights.

I'd also like if the stakes increased in the higher rounds. Stuff like more money from vaults in Knockout Round 2 and the Final Round.
It doesn't make sense imo that the final round is only max 20k while you can get ~55k in the first round

  • Throw away the hate of TA, while playing world tour, there's no points to lose after losing, so everyone is chilling and enjoys the game, no more stress and rattings

The game’s management needs to capitalize on what the games built around and strengthen and improve on those aspects like map destruction and CASHOUT. The reason the game gained the traction it did was because cashout is fresh and a fun game mode and the tournament ranked cashout was a perfect game mode to build around.

They claimed TA was more (new user friendly) but all the new players were extremely confused and didn’t enjoy TA some just uninstalled the game..

another thing I have been repeating is the ranked rewards, the rewards for ranked are extremely underwhelming and unrewarding, I want to be able to show the entire lobby that I’m this rank and here’s what I can show for it. Don’t get me wrong the weapon skins are ok but not when you don’t use that specific weapon so they need to add universal rewards that can actually be shown off.

The new ruby rank was a great addition to the game, it adds more of a late game grind, but I think they should add 1 more rank to round out the system called (finalist) obviously the game is meant for the name but make ruby able to be reached by whoever puts the grind in and then finalist the top 500-750.

Embark, I've been seeing a bunch of users talk about how they keep seeing "Contestant" as the only names available. Do the settings for streamer mode seem to be on by default, and do you think it might have something to do with accounts linked to Twitch?
I understand that there may be streamers trying to get into the game (and they might not want to go through menus to activate streamer mode), but for new players who do not stream, they're left confused as to why this happens to be the case. Last night I had a fun time watching twitch rivals on the rivals channel, sometimes popping out to look at ottr's view (cause he's a sweetie)
But today I look at my inventory and I didn't get the drop! That's so weird, I'm sure I was logged in and everything.
Is this a known issue? Any ways to look into fixing it? Should I maybe contact twitch instead? It's a shame that I didn't get the drop but the event was still really fun! (Even though sometimes it felt like the commentators had never played the game in their life hihi)

Like I keep saying, if you actually read the feedback, you wouldn't say it's a skill issue, combating riot shielders is literally the lowest risk fight you'll have in the game, you can outrun them, shoot their exposed parts even when they are blocking, not to mention it is easy to counter with pretty much any melee weapon. I've presented numerous points as to why I think the riot shield deserves a buff, especially with how the dual blades block damage way more consistently than the riot shield ever could. And what did you respond to after all those points "skill issue". Spoken like a true coward, please actually engage with the points that were being made.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
  • Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
  • Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
  • Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders

FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
  • Remove the fov and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.

HOLDING THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:

  • Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.

FIX THE GLITCH TRAP:

  • Glitched heavy can still use the winch claw and it doesn't stop chargeNslam

  1. Allow heavy players to throw their spears. But not unlimited like the throwing knives. Instead when u throw it once u have to wait for it to come back to ur hand kinda like Thors hammer. It's literally a SPEAR. And having to wait for it to come back even to engage in close range battle prevents it from being overpowered but viable longer distances. Maybe allow players to aim and throw it through by toggling on and off the aiming mode.

  2. Give more button optimisation for controller players for example triggering something or being able to choose an item with the double tap or triple of a button or swipe on the middle pad of a controller.

I recently bought new headphones (Steelseries arctic nova 5 (PC) wireless) and whenever I enter a game of finals my mic goes extremely high pitched and sped up, like a squirel ranting gibberish, and its especially weird because I dont use the headsets mic, I haven a a desk mic. You cant tell anything what I say, nor does what I say affect the squeeking, the squeeks seems almost random. I havent been able to find any fixes, Ive tried reducing the quality of my devices which works for a little bit, but thn it returns to the squirle talk. Anyone else ever had similar problems? It seems to only happen in the finals AFTER I enter a game.

Winch claw imo shouldn't have done any damage to begin with, being able to reel people or items into your aura should be enough of an advantage to use it. The 15 damage made you able to insta kill lights with the claw + RPG, which was a little too much. Also, if it doesn't suit your playstyle with 5 instead of 15 damage, why not just use another specialization?

Heavy is already the class with the most HP. Not having the lowest TTK weapons doesn't instantly make the class not viable. Heavy's guns still do enough damage considering the health pool you have and on top of that you can still use the abundance of shields. If anything the charge & slam could use a damage nerf to 80 (same as its ground pound) instead of 130 for direct hits. Right now it's a piece of cake to wipe an entire team with a Flamethrower/M60/Lewis if you combine it with the charge & slam

Please nerf LH1 and the daggers. They are becoming a "must use for Light because they are META and don't require skill!!"
These 2 weapons put the player enemy in a situation in which he cannot win both in long range (Lights with LH1 can snipe now, dealing consistent damage and not been penalized by the recoil, almost nonexistent) and in close range (Lights can literally "spam" daggers that are now very fast and deal a lot of damage).
These 2 guns are very used in World Tour and especially in Terminal Attack Ranked, making the gunfight really unbalanced.
I give you 1 or 2 week to fix this issue, otherwise you are risking to lose a fair player. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I’m not superior but my feedback has to be taken into context. I know heavy is strong in bronze and silver. Its just awful in high dia lobbies now. U have no way to out ttk’d enemies. So u have to resort to melee weapons?

But high dia kovaaks aimers will just shoot your brain from 40m so u cant approach.

So u cant out ttk good ppl and u cant come close to them with weapons that out ttk’d good aimers.

There are more open maps than maps with tight spaces. So heavy is just a dumbass class.

KS23 needs accuracy buff or something, it’s so weak, it’s way too punishing to miss compared to benefit of hitting, and missing is extremely easy as it’s not hitscan either, it paired well with claw but now claw+shotgun+punch will leave a light with 5hp, so it’s basically useless against light, medium and heavy now. (It’s not useless because I can’t kill lights, it’s useless because if I can’t even kill a light hitting every shot there’s no way I can possibly use this against any other class) especially when it takes lower ttk to kill me than it does for me to kill any class.

Well season 3 is a huge failure. It's lacking the most fundemental changes this game needs.

  • No updated servers or improved netcode, meaning desync/delay is still there which can be up to 1 second if not more
  • No improvements to hit-registration, meaning sometimes your shots/hit just does nothing
  • Game did not receive any improved optimization, meaning it still runs like shit even if everything is on low
  • No fix for crash to desktop
  • No fix for PC crashing
  • No fix for unable to do any action like using a zipline or attacking
  • No fix for the parkour which still is unreliable and buggy
  • Still not banning cheaters permanently
  • No fix for the respawn system which in most cases gives advantage to respawning team
  • Store credits still doesnt show real value of the price in euro or you local currency
  • No more in depth profiles with match history and stats
  • Still can't see other players steam profile
  • No specific keybindings for each class and loadout
  • No setting for default skins in equipment menu
  • No fix for sword/melee abusers, can still sword attack and quick attack, and emote/gadget switching for infinite dmg
  • No UI for ping/latency
  • Not removing aim assist from PC lobbies
  • No improvement on visible stats/numbers on weapons and gadgets
  • And lets not dive in to the balancing, its been shit all the time.

I've been Diamond 3 in season 2 and you can't deny that at that time heavy was seriously oppressive. If you wanted to win matches you needed at least one heavy (preferably 2) in your team. The heavy's weapon nerfs were long overdue. They had one of the lowest TTKs, while the heavy obviously has the most HP and a couple of really good/useful options for shields/offensive specializations.

If you can't currently outdamage other classes as a heavy it's, purely by looking at data, a skill issue, as the heavy's most versatile weapons (M60 or Lewis gun) still do enough damage to kill other classes within the respective class' TTK for the heavy.

Example (all body shots):
Light lowest possible TTK for a heavy with the XP54: 1,34s
Heavy lowest possible TTK for a light with the Lewis gun: 0,72s

Medium lowest possible TTK for a heavy with the AKM: 1,7s
Heavy lowest possible TTK for a medium with the Lewis gun: 1,32s

Also note that the Lewis gun has better damage dropoff stats than the XP54 and the AKM, so you still have an advantage in that regard as well.

Only difficult weapons to go up against right now as a heavy is the throwing knives because of the sheer amount of damage and the benefit of not having to reload and the LH1 because of it's idiotically high damage (which is now somewhat nerfed).

The recoil on M60+Lewis (with spontaneous zigzag movements/recoil) make it way harder to hit al shots than a literal xp-54 recoil pattern being second to nothing if u just drag down your mouse?

Pure statistics isn’t enough, the recoil pattern is way too easy for lights right now + being nimble. Its way easier to shoot at a heavy than at a light.

Lights just take higher ground or approach from behind.

In high elo where people have flawless aim and flawless macro stats and an array of broken util. The heavy is just a waste to pick. In TA i get 13+ kills maybe (I never played light in my life) and then on heavy u get 2 kills in a full 10 light TA game.

Heavy is just useless right now. U only see the occasional medium pick in TA because you actually do some dmg with fcar/akm.

In cashout its somewhat fine unless the full lobby in cashout picks light. Then again heavy is somewhat deadweight (less than in TA luckily)

True high elo shows where the issue really lies at tho. And in D3/D4 lobbies that’s not shown. Only at full D2 +D1 lobbies u feel the issues.

Lol, you're saying top 2500 of all ranked players "is nothing tbf"? I've played against plenty of Diamond 1's last season and I barely ever saw one playing light. I'm just saying the balance changes are most likely the result of last season's data. Embark probably also saw that the heavy was overrepresented in S2 and nerfed the (ridiculously low) TTK.

Of course only looking at the weapon data doesn't paint the full picture, but it at least shows what is possible in a perfect scenario. Obviously it's never a perfect scenario, but you should be able to outdamage a light with a heavy in at the very least half your encounters. Don't forget heavy has an easy 140 damage in their pocket as well, leaving a light at just 10 hp (which is 1 shot with pretty much every weapon in the game). Like you said there's a positioning factor to it as well, which is arguably the least important aspect of a heavy since you can pull shields out of your ass at any given moment.

Also, if light is that OP, why was there basically only one light (correct me if I'm wrong) in yesterday's Twitch Rivals event, while there were at minimum 3-4 heavies in each match? Heavy can't be as crippled as you make it out to be if half the players are using it.

Probably most importantly: I can't really speak for this season's ranked TA, because I despise it and I'm not really playing ranked all that much ranked while it's TA. Heavy has imo always been inferior in TA since you don't recharge more than 100HP. Heavy is built around having 350HP, so having less than 1/3 of that makes it borderline useless. Light is built around 150HP, so worst case scenario the light is playing with 2/3 of its HP. Honestly it's a really bad idea to balance a class around a crippled gamemode like TA so I hope they don't even take that feedback into consideration to base balance changes on. The game would be better off without TA anyway so if they start balancing based on TA I'd be lost for words.

The most recent patch seems tiny compared to previous ones; and at least optics wise seems like a let-down at a time where the community is really on edge about recent changes. While I understand development is a complex process, giving the community something more to chew on like acknowledging feedback in a major public channel like the patch notes would greatly reduce negativity.

That being said, I'm assuming there weren't any more under-the-hood changes; but if there were any I don't get why you wouldn't at least mention them in passing like "further optimized the engine" or "continued working on cheat detection" even just for optics sake.

Just started a few days ago. Played some games here and there. I really like how easy it is to get weapons/gear unlike other games.

Skills in the game is quite funny on how you can easily make a build similar to other game characters such as Medic & Engineer from TF2 or Gibby & Pathfinder in Apex Legends.

Wish I can fight against more noob opponents like me since when I entered ranked, half of the lobby is filled with veteran players 😂

Only wish I have is perhaps more quick chat options and perhaps a way to know where we'd spawn in the map in order to plan ahead before the game starts or to decide whether to use the respawn token or nah.

TA tho? Nah TA sucks for heavy still. Which is basically my main point. The perfect scenario or half of the time being able to outplay a light just doesn’t go in TA because 3 lights just click at u and ur gone. Especially if they play poke with 1 sniper etc.

I would like to say I am greatly disappointed in this week’s patch notes. I was expecting changes but to see that the LH1 has been nerfed entirely from where it used to stand is so sad. I have used it since season 1 and loved the weapon. It hurt enough when you slowed down the rpm’s but you buffed the damage to make up for it. Now you have even made it do less damage than last season. And the ttk other classes was fairly matched often resulting in actually losing a lot of 1v1s. Other light weapons have a better ttk than this now. I am not saying it didn’t need a rebalance but now it’s slower and does less damage than last season. Whoever in the developer team that seems to be hating on lights, and loving on the heavies, needs to be kicked out of the team that makes these choices. The light class is always getting a nerf in some way. Might as well just take it out of the game next.

The new update is good where they nerf the LH and sonar nades but they should just remove the invisabilkity from the light because it has nothing to do in a shooter game like this. For example if the enemy sees u at the exact time as u than its a 50/50 fight the one with better aim and movement wins if the enemy is behind u than its like a 20/80 fight in favor of the guy behind u, ur only gona win this if he misses his first bullets and u 180 turn on him. But when there is a light player invis its always gona be a 15/85 fight. Yes u can hear it and see his oputlines a little but in the finals the is alwys destruction and smoke and stuff there is always going something on in the game and u cant see erverything perfect so its hard to see the light players sometimes. So if the invis light player is in front or behind me he is alwys gona have an advantage plus if he has good aim ur always gona lose the fight .

LH1 WAS PERFECTLY BALANCED IN SEASON 2 (HERES WHY)

Embark I REALLY want you guys to listen to this. As a light main and someone who was a passionate LH1 Player, I really want you guys to think about the 2 key points i want to make. One of the reasons I am addressing these points specifically is because of the LH1 dev note left, in the patch notes for 3.0.0. (Dev Note: Overall the effective damage of the LH1 should remain roughly the same, but it should now be easier to use, less nauseating, and more precise when standing still, as well as incentivizing headshots. The lower RPM should help make it feel distinct and make it easier to maintain targets in sights)

A •Not every gun needs to be easy to use

B •Some weapons need to be less accessible .ie harder to use.

The primary reason im emphasizing this is because the numbers on the LH1 right now are still incredibly overpowered when its as easy as it is to use. So Ill make a few comparisons to help give some insight. With the R.357 it has whopping 74 body shot damage and 148 head damage. The R.357 also has no recoil, so if you were to hold completely still and shoot all the bullets shot would be in the same spot. Now imagine you reduced the visual recoil. It would be a nightmare to deal with, even if recoil was added, not because the numbers are to high, but because its too easy to use.

Another example I can give is the V9S and it might be a better comparison than the R.357. The V9S is not a highly used gun, the reason I hear from most people is because "The visual recoil makes it to hard to use". Now at first that may sound like a bad thing ,but its because if it were any other way the gun would be overpowered. The V9S does 37 damage body shot and 55.5 to the head. The gun is incredibly strong but the visual recoil helps keep it balanced. Imagine if you gave it the LH1 treatment and reduced the visual recoil it would be a laser beam as it already has the 2nd lowest TTK out of any light weapon.

Even the videos from Oscar sometimes seem fake/superficial as he's reading from a script some higher ups sent instead of actually talking to the wider community. A great example of being genuine and transparent would be how the people at coffee stain do it, I always look forward to videos from their community manager(s) since they're chill, clear and down to earth.

You're right, if we're talking about completely different gamemodes it's useless to discuss it further.

Let's be honest, yesterday's Twitch Rivals event clearly showed what the main "problem" is with (ranked) cashout tournaments apart from the team compositions, which is third partying. I think the best way to disincentivize that is to increase cash rewards for everything other than the cashout, so defending it is viable as well.

As for some actual suggestions that are easy to implement and test what the impact of it is:

  • Change cash reward for opening vault to 2k
  • Change cash reward for depositing vault to 4k
  • Change vault 1 and 2 to 5k, vault 3 and 4 to 10k and vault 5 and 6 to 15k (or something along those lines)
  • Change cash reward for kills to 500
  • Add a reward for a team wipe, something like 500 or 1000 (so wiping one entire team without them reviving would net you 2-2.5k)
  • Reduce cash lost by a team wipe to 20%

I think it's mad that they've not tweaked the cash reward values a little bit AT ALL during the last 2 seasons and, instead of trying out some tweaks to the rewards, decided to completely swap one gamemode for another. Only way to nerf LH1 is to revert to the old recoil, a gun like this needs a skill ceiling or this abomination of a meta happens. As for Dmg, it should never be above 49dmg. Been playing competitive all day so far and I've only played vs 5 lights every game. Issue has not been fixed, not even close to it. (also this comes from a LH1 pre-buff main, it's stupidly overtuned in every aspect)

As everyones skills rise evenly at some point lights are the class that gets punished the easiest for being out of position, because they are so easy to kill, so naturally you do have to adapt differently to playing it in higher lobbies, either by working on your movement or by working on your pathing.

That obviously also affects the other classes, but they have a much leaner learning curve about that since they can survive more hits in the face before folding.

Most light weapons also require more precision/control because since they fire faster their recoils are much wilder too.

So I would agree that yes it is the hardest class to play. It also did seem like the strongest one before the nerfs, but just because something is strong and it is easy to bring out a part of that strength does not mean that bringing the entireity of it is easy.

Bad nerf to winch claw, 15 damage was fine, I think the hit box should be smaller so you have to have at least decent aim to do anything with it. Winch claw was the main reason heavy was pretty viable in TA due to being able to single out light players instead of them running. Doing less damage basically will confirm they will live if they are at full health. Rpg is kinda the only thing heavy has going for him in any game mode because of the nerfs to M60 and and lewis gun

Embark, if you all actually played this game instead of just looking at stats and feedback, half of these situations where guns/specializations need to be nerfed - almost immediately after being buffed - wouldn't happen. The LH1 and throwing knives are perfect examples of this.

You altered/buffed the LH1 because of complaints about recoil and the player becoming "nauseas." Your response to this was not only decreasing maximum firerate and recoil, but also buffing the damage? Anyone with common sense who used the LH1 prior to this knows that this damn gun didn't need a dmg buff of 3 points. But because you all don't actually playtest the game, you decided "oh lets add a dmg buff of three points since everyone says its so difficult to control, this will make them happy." But all this did was make the gun unbelievably overpowered to where you had 5 lights in TA with all LH1s. YOU HAD TO NERF IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER RELEASE. Now after the nerf, THE GUN IS THE SAME LMAO. It makes no sense. Revert the LH1 to the way it was originally and just buff the recoil a little from its original recoil. Like I truly dont understand what your thought process is for buffing and nerfing.

You buffed the throwing knives because since season 1, it was obvious the knives projectile speed was too slow and a little funky with hit registration. Your response to this? Lets buff the DMG, the projectile speed, oh and lets also buff the RPM that will be good...... WHAT ARE YOU ALL THINKING? Just buff the projectile speed and maybe buff the RPM A LITTLE but the DMG too? No one who used the throwing knives asked for this.

Stop trying to make the community happy by overcompensating on every patch - it ridiculous. You will kill this game by trying to make every single player happy.

  • why do a gatgid that have no activation time and little to no skill to use do 140 damage? light vs heavy is like a quick time event that if you didn't react in time you get 140 damage and die or if you're good enough you be lucky to get 80 damage which is still alot seens we have to play perfectly to dodge the rocket
    (also getting 0 damage never happen like ever)

  • the tank out damage the damage per second guy, that already dumb enough and i will not insult your intelligence by explaining why thats bad

Have the developers ever played their game after a million patches in a row strengthening the easy class? Have they ever seen this inadequate TTK? They strengthen knives, they strengthen SH1900, while all light class weapons are already strong enough as it is. Congrats players, you only need to start a main light class to effectively raise your ranking in the new ranked mode "Terminal Attack". I have a suggestion for the developers. Add nuclear strike for lites, so they can just destroy the whole map in one hit and get maximum ranking points. Well either remove all the other classes, they are no longer needed. I'm sick of getting stabbed 4 times in the face and dying. Even though 4 rounds with AKM is not enough to kill a light.

This game was the best ever game that I played past and present year, I quit Riot's Valorant to play this game that's how much i loved this game but you ruined this experience by removing the Ranked cashout. In ranked cashout the chance of me getting a newbie palyer or a player who is not cooperative is very less but now in the new Ranked Terminal Attack half the team dosen't know how to play and are not cooperating, There is no problem for higher rank players but for lower rank players like me its the worst. Most of my friends who were playing this game quit this season and said that Embark spoiled the ranked game and now i don't have my friends to play with and the purpose of this game is lost.
So bring back the old Ranked Cashout until then I'm gonna quit this game. Every other aspect of the game is perfect.

  1. Allow heavy players to throw their spears. But not unlimited like the throwing knives. Instead when u throw it once u have to wait for it to come back to ur hand kinda like Thors hammer. It's literally a SPEAR. And having to wait for it to come back even to engage in close range battle prevents it from being overpowered but viable longer distances. Maybe allow players to aim and throw it through by toggling on and off the aiming mode.

  2. Give more button optimisation for controller players for example triggering something or being able to choose an item with the double tap or triple of a button or swipe on the middle pad of a controller.

  3. Less damage taken when deflecting with dual blades

This isn’t helping, this is just you whining. The new season has only been out for a week. They have already released a small patch to get the LH1 handled, as they did for many other hot fixes in the past. Like just chill the hell out. They r listening and they r attentive.

The LH1 buff was to make lights viable for the tournament, you don’t wanna have a tournament to boost your players base and present a clearly unbalanced game with a competitive dead class, they know what they’re doing bro and I don’t say it as a good thing, they’re trying to solve all the problems at the very last minute and you can see it with the balance situation of the game and also with the ranked changes in season 3.

I wish they would take more time to think in the changes they want to implement considering all the factors involved, terminal attack is not well thought and designed for this game, at least not yet as THE ranked mode, for that you need maps strategically designed for it, sure it works as a casual game and therefore you got good feedback but NO ONE expected or wanted TA to be the only ranked mode in The Finals. You can see more of this unthought decisions with the addition of 20 seconds before every round of TA to prepare, to prepare how exactly? Everyone just spams shoots and start acting like hungry monkeys in a cell, no one thought TA needed to be even slower than it already is as we The Finals players are so used to really fast paced matchs because that’s the uniqueness of The Finals

Just played 3v5 Powershift and 4v5 TA. Clearly the game needs a backfill role with pro-rated rewards because playing outside of peak hours is not fun; and playing at peak hours is challenging since so many games want everyone's attention at the same hours.

Kyoto map is not a fit for TA and Powershift, too big, too much space to be offensive and little to be defensive. It's good for Quick Cash though.

the rpm nerf made the gun easier to use in conjunction with the recoil and spread buff, it looks like a nerf but it kinda wasn't. you had to shoot it that slow to land your shots properly pre-buff, now you can just spam max rpm and hit everything without pulling down fucking easy peasy. it takes no skill to use now and it was my main weapon and now I don't even want to play light.

Yo the matchmaking on terminal ranked is TRASH (so many quitter/disconnect mid game because stuck on loading screen, bug can't shoot, use any gadget, etc.)

Coord with 2 random is hard and now we should coord with 4 random player, the hardest thing is, not all Asian speak Chinese or Korean, they always speak their native/main land, they always mind their own business messing around solo can't coordinate, and quit mid game (especially pre-ranked)

i think nerfing CL-40 was not the problem but how it was nerfed was.

rn i need a whole mag to destroy a single bubble shield or a turret it was really bad against shield before now it is unplayable even against bubble shield.

instead of nerfing direct damage i think it would be better to nerf the AOE. (e.g. less AOE Range, more damage falloff, less AOE dmg in general)

And even tho the breakpoints for the classes are unchanged the dmg is so low that you cant defend a cahout against 1 heavy whit a bubble shield since you will have no shots and not time left by the time the shield is broken.
Meanwhile any light weapon is destroying the bubble shield in less then a second with spare shots in the magazine.

The damage nerfs to light's more oppressive weapons was a step in the right direction. As much as I would love otherwise, I think Embark is gonna stick to their guns on ranked TA this season. If they absolutely must keep TA (as part of their own decision or outside influence), I think it needs something drastic to make the mode more enjoyable for both old and new players. My biggest personal issue is getting creamed by a 4/5 stack of lights with weapons that do more damage than the max regen cap where I don't have any opportunity to react. I think that a "class limit" or "weapon/gadget limit" per team is one of the only viable ways to save TA . Make people coordinate and be strategic about what weapons and tools they bring to each round, because the sonar and high damage spam weapons is the antithesis of the supposed goals of this game mode. Just my crackpot idea, not a game designer by any any sense of the word. Love you Embark, godspeed!

Why not to have TA attack as the main game (opinion-based of course):

The design of this game mode does not work on big open maps
Plenty of gadgets are useless
Less destruction
Does not make much sense from a narrative perspective
Generic rules and idea
Very poorly balanced
Big change for the main fanbase

Overall you can get a better experience playing such game mode in other games. The decision feels very desperate to me. BRING THE RANKED TOURNAMENT BACK!

Hey embark! Concerned citizen here with 300 hours sense season 1. Ummm so what’s going on? I don’t get how you are allowing people online (who play mostly lights) take over your game direction! If you aren’t careful they will steal your game and community and ruin it! You just made winch claw utterly useless because it does 5 damage now. No one plays with things that don’t do damage. So they all play Meta light builds and you allow this by not limiting matches at all by how many types of one weapon or class can be in them. Also you leave out medium players too. No skin for level 8 heal beam? And don’t get me started on swords. They are useless when you have 8+ lights in a match. All with the capability to elbow fight you at the end of your health bar. You are encouraging your players to play solo when it is a team dynamic!

GAME FREEZING on map loading screen

  • everynow and then the game freezes in loading screen(announcement, game events plays but screen is infinitly loading) ... Have to exit the game or restart the game upon with suspension takes effect.

Additionally this happened in the final round of the world tour event too, I logged back in after the screen freeze as soon as possible and finished the game... And still got an hour's suspension.

Please fix this issue... Your dedication players getting suspension from game bugs is not a good sign

The guitar skin for the sledgehammer is a HUGE pay to loose skin , you can see 300% less then the default and it has some very buggy animations while using the winch claw winch randomly cover half of your screen, please fix it , it's just a good skin but feels terrible playing with it!

@topaz seal I do agree with this. There are so many new players now, wich is a GOOD THING! But it's frustrating to watch. I can tell they're new because of the skins they have. I can definitely tell they don't understand the game. They're usually the last alive because they don't know what's even going on. The H/H/M double shield spam meta currently in the finals competitive play reminds me of the days when in overwatch rein and orisa shield spam was going on. No one enjoyed shooting into the shield, everything is defensive and no one can pop off.

Role lock fixed that. Maybe a H/M/L role lock in competitive/ranked play would solve the shield spam issue also help ease balancing weapons and the classes.

EMBARK Allow heavy players to throw their spears. But not unlimited like the throwing knives. Instead when u throw it once u have to wait for it to come back to ur hand kinda like Thors hammer. It's literally a SPEAR. And having to wait for it to come back even to engage in close range battle prevents it from being overpowered but viable longer distances. Maybe allow players to aim and throw it through by toggling on and off the aiming mode. WE NEED THIS IN THE FINALS.

Would really love to see Medium shift away from being Support, and back to a kind of regular soldier, easy to pick up and play, new player friendly,
kind of like Soldier 76 in OW, with its Support abilities being more offensively focused instead of Defensively. Had multiple friends think they'd like Medium only to be disappointed by the support style specializations and gadgets.

Some specialization ideas:
-Temporary AOE heal beacon
-Fire rate beacon similar to Brimstone in valorant
-AOE Movespeed burst
-Large AOE grenade that just slows enemies (not my fav idea but something that could be used more offensively)

I think the heal beacon could be a good replacement for heal beam (it could even follow you around like a drone, but would have to only last x seconds of course, and could be shot i guess).
Combine this utility nerf with a slight SLIGHT weapons buff as their damage seems weaker than Light/Heavy (RPG) currently (I don't care as much about this part tbh and I could be wrong, don't overdiscuss this part).

who has never played another build than invisible or dash. The RPG is the ONLY lethal gadget that will save a heavies behind and if you nerf it right now, NO ONE would EVER play heavy. Take invisible out of the game for a bit! Make players realize what they have been doing and make them play a different way to shake up their skills and game.
When you took out medium recon skills you broke the balance of the game. Medium is the middle and suppose to have powers to fend of certain situations but they just don’t.
But again you listened to the wrong players and gave the light even more ways to mess around, get around, and be impenetrable annoying snipers etc on any match type.

Bring back ranked cash out and limit each team to one heavy one light and one medium. This would fix the balance issue because all the teams would have the same classes. (Also nerf LH1 and throwing knifes again they are still a bit broken)

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
  • Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
  • Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
  • Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders

FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
  • Remove the fov and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.

HOLDING THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:

  • Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.

FIX THE GLITCH TRAP:

  • Glitched heavy can still use the winch claw and it doesn't stop chargeNslam

Rework the RPG, currently it's a 1/2-shot tool on a cooldown. You can whip it out easy peasy and get kills with it.
Make the RPG to be charged first, you'd have to hold the mouse button to charge it and then shoot, the missile will only come out if you charge it fully and release the button.
During charging, you can't run and you make a loud noise.
Remove the random spread (dumb) and make the self-damage amount the same as the enemy damage. It's dumb to shoot a rocket, you dying with higher health while the opponent that was lower than you living instead on a direct hit.
Lower the amount of damage slightly, but reduce the cooldown to compensate.
After 5 meters, the damage lowers like falloff.

With this you can't just whip the rpg willy nilly during an ambush and win. You can charge it preemptively, but any enemy team near you will be aware of it due to the noise and can bait you to shoot it without it being effective. In addition it loses to poke from far away.

Idk maybe sniper? But you don't see anyone else bitching about that nearly as much. I agree with @stuck horizon they've got a point, when you realize that heavy movement is like piloting a fucking brick, with the largest hit box and near zero disengagement abilities, is a big slow easy to shoot target, RPG, Charge + Slam are necessary defenses. It's not as easy to just run away and regen like other classes. There are cool downs, quit acting like it's some infinitely spammable object like knives or some generic burst weapon.

I'm not sure how many more nerfs people want out of heavy but the amount of people still crying about nerfing literally every ability they have is just wild. And just in general quite frankly the amount of people that want nerfs for the dumbest shit, just tell the devs to absolutely gut everything that they've built.

I don't know a single light main who was happy with the state of the lh1 as it disproportionality affected other lights and forced you to also use the lh1. Lh1 had me missing nuke metas. I would see players on my team go 9-1 one game and then go 3-3 because I swapped to lh1 and was killing everyone before they even saw them. If you need something like that to play light then I think you're more built for heavy ❤️

Day 215 of stating the obvious: FOUR TEAMS DOES NOT WORK. The default tournament mode should be three teams. Four team modes should be removed from the game, or potentially reserved for some larger, future maps. Four team modes are just busted; just random, uncoordinated, unmanageable chaos. Not a fun experience most of the time. The game is dying because it's too hard for your average multiplayer gamer. Especially those on consoles. I wouldn't touch this game with a controller, and I have no idea how those players are expected to compete in this game.

In addition, SBMM needs to be removed from EVERY MODE OUTSIDE OF RANKED.

The dual blade should get buff on the blocking ability. Since you're medium you can't overcome lights with unlimited knifes and bow ammo (and they run faster). And should do more damages. You can litterally obliterated by heavies.

It took me 200 hours of playing Mgl 32 and RPG to even have a chance of rpg one shotting. I’m not a Metta player. I play with the least meta classes and settings and with full gyro settings and I went top 30k last season. I worked for my skill. RPG is almost NEVEr a 1 shot kill, enemies always have to be hurt already for it to 1 shot. and if it ever does its because I worked to have the skill to pop your little tiny light head hit box with a cowboy hipfire shot. There is no skill issue here with Big Ma, homie…. But I will say, Heavies are whales in a school of adhd sharks. They get stuck places and left behind by teams and their gadgets cant be used appropriately if an adhd team of lights can’t slow down and use them and secure rooms and drop cash outs from floors and set up defense/offense areas and actually play with thought and skill. Heavies are left behind to be picked off alone, rpg and mines I said are LETHAL , YES but not one shot nukes. And btw the heavy has the heaviest and biggest explosions for a reason. To do things other than kill people Lol it’s more of a team fortress style game than anyone wants to admit. And lights don’t help the team balance when there are 4 out of 5 on each team.

Throwing knives projectile velocity is way too high for the damage it deals. Even with the damage nerf it's still dominating lobbies, combined with dodge it's near impossible to kill a good light player running the throwing knives. The new Golden Kitsune mask is amazing, but please make it so it can be worn with hoods. I understand it will likely cause clipping issues, but there's some clipping in game already and the drip would be absolutely legendary.

There are other masks that do work with hoods, like Spotlight Stealer, and this absolutely needs to be one of them.

Why do some weapons and equipment have missing progression skins? There are several, but what hurts most is the Healing Beam missing both the white Dye Job skin, as WELL as the new panther skin. It only has 6 levels of progression as opposed to other items that have 8, and for seemingly no reason.

Thermal Vision, please adjust the cooldown to be more like Data Reshaper whereby it has a 2x Stack Size so that it is used more strategically in Ranked Terminal Attack without having unlimited usages while still being unlimited in Casual Game Modes.

This will mean that Casual Game Modes will be unaffected, while also having the advantage of balancing for Ranked Terminal Attack. It is not balancing around Terminal Attack, it is an added bonus, and brings this Gadget more inline with how every other Gadget in the game works by having a Stack Size cooldown rather than a "Vision Active" and "Vision Recharging..." cooldown.

Enjoying WT and Ranked TA. However I think defense in TA should get prep time or attack spawns further away not both like it is currently. Attackers should not have to plant the key as attacking was hard enough before prep/further spawns. And if ranked is going to be BO13 then OT should be win by 2.

My game crashed. So I found out how to change loadout mid Game. Steps to reproduce: assign AK as primary weapon. When starting a game switch to CL-40. If enemy brings an APS restart your game and reconnect. You will get your primary loadout.

I think the thing is, we have been letting them cook and they have made good decisions but it does feel life every good decision is followed by a bad one which clearly impacts player count.

Season 3 has some good things, but TA as ranked just makes people not want to play it, the game is running worse than before and the servers are blowing up every game
We want them to succeed but there is definetly something wrong in their development process which is scary because clearly they canno't fulfill Nexon's expectations and if that keeps going on we all know Nexon will turn off the valves and the game will die.
I was looking forward to season 3, but since it release i'm just playing here and there to complete the contracts and finish the battlepass.
I felt betrayed by the devs and the weird decisions they made.

I disagree with that, it's used by everyone because of its verticality. You can open up lines of sight you can drop the cash out you can take out defences effectively and you can deal good damage with it. Much like the defibs for medium not op just a really versatile gadget. The only class that can be one shot by it at full health is light and in my opinion that is a risk they have to accept for playing light

Please have one of your GOOD PLAYERS test it so you can realize how overpowered it is.

Just because a player fails at every other weapon in the game doesnt mean you should make one that anyone can dominate with.

Anyways, why "nerf" throwing knives with -3 damage... what a nothing nerf. This does nothing to address the community's problem with the throwing knives, which is the lack of reload. If you want to keep them having no reload, I'd suggest lowering the damage A LOT, buff the firerate if you have to, but there's no reason a weapon with no reload should have such high dps. It makes bow and revolver worthless, both require actual skill to use, then some throwing knife user comes along and spits out the same dps with no reloading? It's just so annoying. I have to time my shots with revolver and bow, along with timing my reloads and draws, vs just running around holding down right trigger.

Add camo farming for every weapon/gadget (universal camos) with some mastery system and challenges, not complete list by the way

Considering:

  • Most of weapon skins are simple and soulless, none to say against legendary skins¹ with some exceptions²
  • Most of weapon skins are mediocre cash grabbers³ (appreciate the change to buy single items though)
  • Most of weapon skins are grouped in some awful 3-4 bundle, where you can like the skin but not the weapon, some bundles are dope though⁴
  • Most FPS/COD players first think when entering the equipment section "oh there's camouflage farming?" only to find out there's really not
  • Selling effect based skins is part of the problem too⁵

Basing on:

  • Camouflage farming is a reliable way to retain players and give the grass haters something to spend hours instead of hopping to another game

  • Can't damage the GREAT skins in the shop, since some legendary and epic skins out there are really worth it + some got unique animations

  • Camouflages can be divided by rarity basing on the mastery, with different colors and designs, just like COD

  • The actual system will most likely damage the game in the long term

  • ¹ MEMO MAYHEM, LOADED CHERUB, VEGAS GEMS, HOLTOW FINE PRINT, 8-BIT COMEBACK...

  • ² DRAKON BLAST...

  • ³ SLY SWAY SET, DUSK DWELLER SET, FRACTAL DISGUISE SET, VANDAL'S EDGE...

  • ⁴ HEARTBREAKER SET, ARGON GLOW SET, RETURN-TO-SENDER SET, BED OF ROSES SET...

again. pls remove snipers from power shift. ruins the entire game mode. every time. the narrow focus of the payload and the huge maps gives the snipers free range to stand on the edges of the map where nobody can ever shoot back and kill for free. so eather you have to spend all game chasing afk campers or die trying to get to the payload. this is completely wrong focus. all focus should be on fighting over the payload. not chasing afk campers across the other sides of the maps all game. there is enough weapons to go around. no need for snipers in this mode. then all focus will be on the actual point of the game mode. pushing and fighting for the payload. when the easter event was on and there was no snipers and locked load-outs. was so much better.

Medium has been nerfed down so hard that its only function is playing strict support, which imo is not what this game needs since it promotes cowardly play. CL-40 has been ruined so bad that it struggles to kill lights who are supposed to be glass cannons anyway. It was already weak and a nightmare to kill heavies with. APS was run into the ground so hard that barely anyway uses it anymore. All it needed was a radius nerf instead of it getting what it has now. Riot shield has been nearly unusable for multiple patches with bugs that have been reported quite a few times in the bug channel. Turret was given a different kind of cool down on top of its already low health for a previous patch. Over the course of time it got gadgets removed and given to other classes. FCAR deserved what it got, so no complaints there. The scales have been tipped so hard that there's not much of a reason to play medium now unless you enjoy playing with the boring AK, defib, heal beam kit.

@vagrant bramble i get your point and i got to agree that there were good and bad decisions. The problem i see, mostly, is the bad announcement surrounding TA replacing Cashout as a ranked. I think if it would have been communicated a bit earlier or idk would have been a poll or something across all social platforms embark is active. The outcome of all of this would have been different i think... Less negative. And yes, season 2 was a banger, not the rank progression thing. Season 3 has its flaws but i still enjoy it. I do experience more issues tho than in season 2. Mostly being stuck on loadscreen or a slight lag, but nothing terrible that would make it unplayable.

@violet wing i really cant give an answer to that cause i don't know anything about the work that is put into such a game, therefore i dont have a reason to question it. I do accept it, give them time, and wait for its glorious return.

As a medium player in s1 and halfway through s2 I agree with you medium is no longer even fun to play it just feels so bad. I still think the fcar needs some damage given back to it, not much just slightly, it’s so aggravating getting enemies down to 1 bullet with the fcar and having to reload or getting killed first.(probably skill issue I know)
I would say riot shield is good tho they are hard to kill unless you hit em with rpg or pyro but it’s not fun to use.

Riot shields can't pick anything up without getting their view obscured by their own shield that switches hands for some reason. Doesn't matter if its a canister, cashbox, or whatever. Its also really inconsistent with what it can and cannot block. Other melee being the biggest offender. I'm not unreasonable thinking it needs a new gimmick or a damage buff. I just want it to function like any player would assume and not getting suddenly pierced through by literally any other melee weapon (hilariously not other riot shields. That works fine for some reason).

I get that lights don't wanna get dunked on, but you're literally playing a class that does high damage and low health and really good evasive abilities. Its insane to listen to any request that would cause mediums or heavies to suddenly do less damage against them.

Matchmaking is so bad this season, especially for solos in TA ranked. I gave the game one last try today. But same shit. Cant catch an even team at all. 3 games in a row of unranked good players on the other team while I get new unranked players that cant break 1000 score. Kyoto is not fun to play in TA either due the spawn points and distance needed to cover as an attacker. Kyoto pops up too often. Rank score is oppressive currently combined with the matchmaking being so spotty. Most often than not you will lose more rank just by trading wins and losses. It just feels like theres no fun motivation to progress currently if losing is so punishing. I feel like im dragging myself to try to have fun with this season and will probably just take a break until Season 4 or maybe even drop it all together if other games pop up that are better.

Probably because no one was playing with it before. Before that it was the Double Barrel causing trouble.
To put it in perspective, The Throwing knives still seem too powerful. 60 damage per knife is a bit too much. Sure they have travel time, but that simply makes them fit a role akin to the double barrel, super close range damage… only… the knives become more consistent at longer ranges once you understand the projectile speed and how to lead shots. They don’t need to be nerfed too hard, as little as having 5 damage lower is actually perfect.

You throw knives rather quickly.
From the ranges you would use the knives at? You could easily hit them in the dome, even more likely if you’re catching them by surprise.
The time to kill is too short. There is barely time to react to being shot by a light with knives.
And for heavies? I hope to GOD you have their slug-firing shotgun and know how to hit a fast, jittery target in the head.
Now, a useful gadget Lights have is the Stungun, which slows and paralyzes a foe… Not. Even. A. Heavy. Will. Survive. The. Knives.

I'm so glad it's not just me! I get the game freeze after every single match for roughly 30 seconds (?) haven't timed it but it feels like an absolute age. 2 updates ago it was a minor annoyance and happened randomly, now it's every time I get to the menu. Also got stuck on loading screen in knockout round 2 and had to alt+f4 to get back into the match, could still chat, see ping logs, and hear the match audio but was still "loading" for me. Even have it recorded but I can't post media.

Im worried that larger voices have a higher impact in the changes made to the game than the smaller voices. By that i mean if every player was split evenly between all classes, if a class gets nerfed, only 1/3 of the players are negatively impacted but if a class gets buffed than 2/3 of the players are impacted. Embark has a hard time listening as it is so when they do listen they will appease to the 2/3 population leading to unnecessary nerfs. This thought came up because the nerfs to the knives and lh1 was them listening to that 2/3 of the community but you will almost never see them undo a nerf to something. I suggest adding limited ammo capacity to throwing knives that regenerate in chunks relatively quickly. It should be tuned that you can't spam an angle indefinetly without running out, but have enough ammo / regen time to not be constrictive in real fights

The fact that tthe RS still seems to make no sense is a total joke Embark lol. Like I just lost 1k RS for a 13 round match where I had the highest combat score? what the fuck is this? For real? It wasn'tmy 2nd loss in a row. Everyone on my team was unranked while they only had 3 unranked. So what the fuck exactly is this? -1000? Are you people completely inept in all facets of life?
@junior vault There are 4 metrics, personal being the 4th weighted. It doesn't matter. I had to win 3 in a row for the 3rd one to be +900. I lose 1 to a higher ranked team in 13 rounds with a team of unranked and I should lose that 3rd win plus some? Fuck off Embark lol

Something I have noticed in the past few patchs is that heavy has yet to get a nerf for their rpg, goo gun, and shields. I know they have been nerfed in the past, as I have played since day 1 of the full release of the game as a light main. I still think the nerfs made are still not enough. I have let this go for a while but it is starting to annoying me way more the higher I go in ranked.

In my opinion rpg should get a damage nerf from 140 -> 100. This helps light still stay alive and not get hit by a stray bullet, since most of the time heavy will use rpg relatively close in the range of not damage themselves in the process, but also this would also help mediums since most ranked matchs are mhh with the 2 heavys both firing their rpgs together and wiping the whole team in like a few seconds. This weapon was in the staple to all heavy builds since the beta, and i believe it provides too much value to the team for such little work

Next I think the shields need to have their hp reduced or change how they work. Either heavy can only run 1 of the shield options or dome shield can not allow bullets to pass through inside and outside of the dome shield. The amount of times I have faced a heavy, if I hit the player once or they see me they will always drop the dome shield giving them an hp pool of 700hp giving a major advantage to heavy and every other class has to some how try to not make a single mistake or not miss a single shot.

The heavy shield ability is more manageable and understandable as it is more team oriented, which is fine but having the ability to spam it on and off quite fast makes it impossible to hit them with a glitch grenade since it is only on impact if it hits the shield. So if they are running flamethrower, shotgun, or melee weapon then good luck because all these people also run rpg

Just encountered a bug that prevented me from: aiming down sights, deploying utility of any kind, crouching and sliding, climbing ladders, clambering, reviving, picking things up, or interacting with objects in any way permenantly for the entire game. Luckily i can simply embed the video of the bug occurring so the devs can use it to find the- oh wait | also uncensor lmao and wtf in game chat like come on

Let us map multiple actions to the same button

When they reintroduced the "Weapon" mapping recently, my brother got a bug on his account that is actually exactly what I've been wanting. His "Communication Wheel or Inspect (Double Tap)" and "Weapon" are both bound to the same button. It works together perfectly because you only need to tap one to pull out your weapon, inspecting doesn't interfere with anything, and you need to hold to pull up the wheel.

I was excited to try it out and buy some comms wheel stuff (since it's unbound for me because there aren't enough buttons) but I went to try this on my account and it just overrides.

I was just given a comp time suspension for "leaving" when the game crashed... no option to rejoin...

My brother is still in the game,** can there please be more time to reconnect to prove you weren't leaving?**

I have never left a comp game, only had issues where game has crashed or ininitly loads. In those situations I close the game re-open and then rejoin. But this time I had to reset my pc as the game froze everyhthing up. Got back on and now a 30 minute suspension after getting home from work.

I undertsand the point of suspensions, but these are out of my control and I wanted to rejoin

  • CL-40 nerf was very bad, it's just not worth using it anymore for what it offers, it has one of the worst DPS now in a weapon with 4 ammo, basically irrelevant at ranges.. and an incredibly slow empty reload time.
    Suggestion: buff it's ammo count / reload or buff it's splash damage / revert the damage nerf.
  • Riot Shield still suffers from pyro nades death sentence bug and picking up items.. also the fact that Medium lacks specializations/gadgets to close the gap, makes it even more painful. Not to mention that it gets totally denied by RPG+ Charge n Slam, Flamethrowers and Sledgehammers, especially now that Heavy got Winch claw to insult you even harder. The swing speed combined with the damage it does is terrible, especially considering that you have to hit a heavy 5 times at point blank range to get a kill, which is absurd compared to how easily you get denied by them. For some reason a Shield does not block any melee attacks...
    Suggestion: increase the swing speed and the damage, or perhaps give it sort of a lunge attack that buffs the attack damage similar to the sword/sledge instead. Make it block melee attacks
  • Dual Blades suffers from Riot Shield syndrome, slow swing attacks for the damage it offers with somehow even less defense and super inconsistent reflection, however unlike riot shield it blocks melee attacks..... hah144p
    Suggestion: Swing speed buff, more consistent reflection n improve the last attack damage.
  • Nerf RPG, 140 -> 85 damage
  • Both AKM and FCAR could see a buff, given how unfun it is to play Medium at the moment now that all you can do is basically play 100% support.
    AKM 20 -> 22 damage
    Fcar 22 -> 24 damage
  • Improve the Lewis gun and M60 recoil to compensate for the damage nerfs they got.
    M60 19 -> 21 damage
  • Make 93R relevant to the game, it needs many buffs.
  • Increase Revolver max range

Here to say I climbed to gold in Ranked TA and I still hate it. Genuinely not fun. The fact that being in gold 4 puts me in the top 10k players is genuinely devastating. Absolutely no one is playing this mode. I love this game, but this feels like the death knell. Please do something. There won’t be enough people left for a season 4 at this rate.

  1. Ok sure wait for the heavy to use their rpg or dodge, what about the second and some random third party heavy rpg. The stun gun was 1 of the options that allowed light to deal with this issue, which yes I agree that the stun gun was op and annoying back then. But this still doesn't ignore the fact that 2 rpgs can just wipe a whole team in a few seconds or quickly turn a 3 v 3 situation into a 1 v 3 situation, since majority of matchs are mhh that I have seen in all of season 2, and still see in season 3. Lets not also forget about goo gun which literally acts like stun gun but is way better and has way more shots than stun gun.

  2. Yes, but I will get shot and take some damage before i am able to get inside and then i have to watch out for rpg, any mines, or charge and slam ability. If none of those things are there well my hp has still been reduced with heavy still at full hp. All in which give me a major disadvantage. It should be used for more defensive purpose not something to boost the heavy hp to 700 hp and give themselves a major advantage in any 1 v 1 or get an easy cash out steal, as this is what it is mainly used for.

  3. So leave my team in a 2 v 3 situation, and getting behind them is usually not possible because they usually have their team close by or behind them. Since yes this ability is meant to be used close with your team since you can't shoot it but your allies can. Also how am I supposed to get behind them in a 1 v 1 situation when they will most likely run shotgun, flame thrower, melee, or lmg (not as much in season 3 which I agree shouldn't haven't gotten a big damage nerf). I'm just saying that glitch should become on impact instead of the short delay and bounce. Since the audio is quite loud and easy to dodge. So its either the shield ability can not be turned on and off quickly, or glitch grenade becomes on impact.

please make world tour the ranked mode, as a closed beta 1 player terminal attack is just not it nor what the game is about in my opinion, in terminal attack you dont "reach the finals" the whole point of the game is to "reach the finals" hence the normal mode, this decision being made to make terminal attack ranked is just beyond me

1 add different languages, for example Russian and French

2 the optimization in the game is good, but my video card is on fire, and I want to play, so you can optimize

3 add the option to select the card in the rating
of the type for which the most votes were given, and this card will be selected

5 also improve the stun gun, it seems to me that you weakened the weapon too much, but in season 1 the stun gun was good, and many people used it

Respawns and movement in this game SUCKS!!! you always spawn 150+ meters away from a cashout even if it's 15 secs away from finishing. how is a heavy supposed to get there in time??? lost half of the games because a cashout was half done and spawned 200m away and couldn't even get in time there

i wanna start by saying that i have been playing the finals since day 1.... now we are in season 3 and you change your ranked mode from the original that we love to this termal attack stupid mode, which for me seems like a desperate attempt to wannabe other fps games like cs 2 , valorant etc... all tough i still play tournament now to play the beloved cash out mode.. and then we come to my real problem with the game... at the moment we played about 2 - 3 hours almost daily since the start of the new season.. and we played kiyoto map 1293812381290323 times, monaco - 0 times Las vegas 0 times and seol maybe 5 times and skyway stadium 0 times and so on ... seriously. this is a real problem for the game... the map rotation really really sucks.. sorry but it is true.. i find it kinda sad that a map like las vegas is NEVER being played ... and a map like kiyotois being play so much that i feel like pukeing when i see it .. i need some answers to how your map rotation works. thanks from a conserned the finals fan !

I've been grinding for top 500 ever since the season started (im currently top 200 rn) because i really love this game mainly because of how different it is and the memories i've had. However because of how terrible this season started, im contemplating whether or not i should quit rn. Every single game is the same and i was hoping that the recent patch notes would change that but they didn't. In fact it did literally nothing and the meta is the same in every game. Fuck you embark for ruining such a beautiful idea with stupid decisions and just an arrogance of not even having a playtest server for the new game mode in ranked. ofc they will change the meta by nerfing LH1, sonar, invis and thermal some day but that won't change the fact of how shit this game mode is.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
  • Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
  • Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
  • Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders

FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
  • Remove the fov zoom in and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.
  • Pyro grenades "stick" to the shield and burn the player forever, making it also impossible to see

GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:

  • Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.

FIX THE GLITCH TRAP:

  • Glitched heavy can still use the winch claw and it doesn't stop chargeNslam

Just hit 400 hours Embark and I have to say. I’ve been putting up with Ranked TA Soley because I want diamond but god damn is this change not what the people wanted AT ALL. Not only was there no warning or heads up to maybe practice the game mode that was gonna be ranked but to change it in general and then make the ranked system stupid ridiculous at the beginning of the season to advance thanks to unranked players everywhere and making an imbalance of Mmr. TA is not fun nor is it new and refreshing to the players and loyal fans who played the game soley for the fact that there was no other ranked system that was CASH OUT. If I wanted to play Search & Destroy I would’ve bought MW3 and not spent my money on your multibucks.

Light class was never meant to only kill weakened players. It was meant to be a class that was recon and kill players who are alone and not with their team. Since they are supposed to excel in 1 v 1 due to their high mobility. Medium is your versitile character being able to do 1v1 and team fights effectively. Heavy being the tank and doing really well in a team fight, not how it is where heavy does everything because they can easily kill anyone in a 1v1 and can kill a whole team, plus still gets rewarded a lot for making a bunch of mistakes, its just a brain dead class since season 1. Whereas if a light makes 1 mistake they are dead or have to run and leave their team alone for a moment to heal.

idk what's wrong, embark choosing the weirdest ways to buff/nerf weapons, like they just don't have testers, or the average player's balance suggestions, basically everything that you don't like to play against you ask for nerfs. the idea is to achieve balance, not meta. not everything that's fun for you to play is necessarily balanced. I enjoyed playing throwing knives and hated lh1, even then, i reckoned both needed nerfs. however, winch claw definitely needs nerfs, the stun is nonsensical and there is no travel time, meanwhile, they absolutely ruined lewis and m60. y'all should be thinking how everything works together, nerfing x or buffing y is not that simple

In this sense yes I agree. Like I don't know how I would balance these things out. In my opinion on how I see things in this game is that heavy have a lot going for them. Now idk if this is because they have some abilities that can let them contribute greatly to the team or if light is just more of a selfish class with the only addition that made light be able to help the team more being sonar grenade. I know if light gets too big of a buff they will become very op like with the LH1 which I can agree that it never needed another buff even though its my favorite weapon.

Terminal attack as the new ranked season is insane, the gear, classes, and maps are not built for this kind of game mode, this feels like a decision made by some corporate bean counter who saw Valorant or CS:GO numbers. TA is fun, but I seriously doubt it'll carry ranked. Also, no skill based match making in World Tour is a wild choice.

i think your sentiment is coming from a grain of truth
heavy excels against players that don't have a plan. rushing him is exactly what he wants, because the majority of his utility is either defensive or half offensive half utility, and he can easily take out uncoordinated teams. that's why medium and especially light are underrepresented in casual matches.
light's strength comes from their 1v1 potential and their ability to get out of unfavorable fights. they have a pile of tools they can use to gtfo whenever they want, and their health regenerates fast, allowing them to quickly re-engage. if they can't secure a kill, they can continuously pester a team to open up opportunities for their teammates to capitalize on enemy mistakes. light definitely has the lowest skill floor and the highest skill ceiling due to this.
but that's why the throwing knife and lh1 buff was so devastating despite being small changes numerically. giving the light big shot damage dealer spam weapons without a tradeoff of reduced escape utility gave them the best of both worlds, enabling massive damage output at all ranges with very few gameplay counters.

please rework cloak to have low activation cost but run out faster the longer cloak is active. this way you aren't punished for activating your cloak and instead punish cloak users for staying invis too long and camping with it. it would also differentiate cloak and vanish bomb more (cloak for using invis in quick short bursts during fights, and vanish bomb for safely getting away when low or to sneak up on players) being able to toggle invis on and off is what makes cloak good, using up a 3rd of the ability to activate cloak sucks. as it is rn, it feels just like vanish bomb but in your specialization slot
