BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
  • Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
  • Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
  • Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders

FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
  • Remove the fov and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.

I feel like the finals should try to optimize the game to be run by lower end PC's more easily. It is a very demanding game, and reasonably so, but perhaps some downgrading would allow more players to be able to play the game at a good performance rate

Day 2 of asking embark to re-add player discovered mechanics and to stop patching them out. These mechanics added skill expression and a higher skill ceiling to the game. Additionally they also gave heavy some fun movement mechanics, to draw players to the class. And of coarse, prop surfing is cool.

Honestly the Lewis was too strong in S2. FCAR damage with twice the ammo count. But with the many DPS buffs to Light class, I feel like it wouldn't be exagerated to revert the M60/Lewis/FCAR nerfs. This may lower the overall TTK, but hell I'm not against it.

Please try to keep in mind the changes themselves rather than the values and variables. I.E Rather than focus on the ammo count I gave for example, focus on the reload change itself. These values can be changed for further balance.

HOW TO FIX CASHOUT

  • When you wipe an enemy team, you gain 30 percent of their lost money, there is possibility that this makes it too good to hunt people down instead of playing the objective, because of this you can either go two ways, when a team gets wiped, they drop COINS like bank it., picking up these tokens gives you money **OR ** you only gain 15 % of their money.

The purpose of this addition is to coinside with the next change, i think holding objective may be TOO OP, there may be certain scenarios where holding a cashout makes it impossible for one team to win. Overall this is only an addition if the next change comes in.

  • When holding cashout, @ 25 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ 75 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ Cashout Completion gain $5k, 3 Split rewards for one cashout. (overwatch capture point basically)
  • Spawns should be fixed, 3 v 3 at first vault, both teams should spawn at an equal distance to the vault, nobody should spawn with a Tempo Advantage
  • Charge N' Slam nerf
  • Higher cash reward for kills
  • No premade teammates in Diamond 2+ Emerald 2+, ladder rank should be based on individual skill rather than who stacks/plays more
  • Only One 22k vault should spawn, at this stage of the game, 1st place should be decided

I understand that alot of people hate TA as ranked, but lets just talk about losing ranked points for a 2v5, if teammates disconnect after 7 minutes the match does not cancel and continues. Anyone have anyway to balance this so the enemy team still gets most if not all of their points and we dont lose points?

FEEDBBACK ON THE BOW

I have spent around 15 hours using the bow which in the grand scheme of things is not that much but is still pretty decent

WHATS GOOD ABOUT IT
the weapon damage wise feels great and if you were cracked out of you mind hitting headshots every single time it would be pretty good
its satisfying to use and hitting headshots with it feels rewarding
glint to tell you when the bow is ready is good and a great addition

WHAT I DONT LIKE
to prefice this i peaked top 1000 last season somewhere around rank 600 so im not the best at this game but also would say im bad either
with that out of the way my first issue with the weapon is the speed of the arrow which felt way to slow upclose sometimes and shots that felt like they should be hitting often never did i feel like its too slow that you have to be leading you shots even up close which i feel is annoying since upclose people are straffing and its often hard to predict where someone will be when there straffing this is not a issue in lower ranks since mosts players dont move to much when the shoot which allowed me to get several 16-24 kill games in the terminal attack ranked mode however at the higher ranks where people start to strafe more and more it got increasingly difficult you can call this a skill issue if you want but i believe im not a bad player compared to most of the community and you should not have to be a top 100 player whos aim is equivilant to god to be able to be effective with the weapon

my idea for possible solutions up the initial speed of the bow but increase speed fall off so that it slows down quicker further out or increase projectile size so that short strafes side to side cant dodge the arrow

minor complaints

  1. blowing up mines feels awkward if your not close to them you must aim not at the mine but slightly above it to hit the mine which is annoying and against a players intuition
    2.the bow animation for charging it up pauses right before the bow is fully charged that pause makes it feel like its fully charged and it isnt which can lead to early fires (yes i know there is a ding and a glint on the arrow when its max charged) however in the middle of a gun fight im not paying attention to that with explosions going on arround me instead my peripheral vision is foucusing on the bow as a whole im not asking for a decrease in charge up time but a slight change in the animation so that pause right before its fully charged is instead the point at which its fully charged.
  2. if your game is lagging at all the bow is fucked not much i can think of to fix this its just annoying

overall i think its a really fun weapon that fails at higher levels unless you have the aim of a professional player but can see good succes at lower levels.

EMBARK Allow heavy players to throw their spears. But not unlimited like the throwing knives. Instead when u throw it once u have to wait for it to come back to ur hand kinda like Thors hammer. It's literally a SPEAR. And having to wait for it to come back even to engage in close range battle prevents it from being overpowered but viable longer distances. Maybe allow players to aim and throw it through by toggling on and off the aiming mode. WE NEED THIS IN THE FINALS.

ANOTHER FREE IDEA

Create "companies" like "clans" back in the day where we select a sponsor. Kinda like in world tour we compete or "grind out" specific sponsor drip each season. Limited time cosmetics for the "companies" to get each season. OSPUZE, Viiya, etc.

Maybe this would be better for ranked TA since the "company" size is larger.

OR

we could make companies larger than just 3 ppl and everybody plays for the group to achieve a group goal. I.e. "get 100 wins this season".

My review on ranked TA: It is good
I was like the rest of the players that it is very bad and unbalanced buuuut ,it's not. I spent this week on learning HOW to play TA and wow ,the gamemode is actually good and has some very close moments. After you play a few rounds you get the new meta and play style ,I miss cashout tho but I'll be playing this mode untill it's back and maybe after cashout came back I'd still play the mode.
Lessons learned :

  • Learn to play the gamemode
  • Learn the new meta
  • Stop puting stress on Embark ,they know they fucked it up a bit
    (This is MY opinion so please no hate and if you have anything to say about it we can talk like humans and don't have to make a Discord dramahug_friend )

2x Heavies playing Sledge/Claw + 1 Light spamming TKs is very fun to fight against... not at all. I constantly got killed in two hits. I was Heavy myself so imagine how much worse it would be for a Medium. M60 just can't compete at all. Flamer is a bit better, unless you get clawed, then you're instantly doomed with zero counter-play. What the hell ? This is a FPS. First Person SHOOTER. Melee weapons were more meant to be a meme/troll thing for skilled players IMHO. But now this is the new meta. Nobody cares if you're actually good at aiming. Just play the most oppressive stuff and you'll win.

Uninstalled afer the new update. Terminal Attack is completely defender based, broken and doesn't feel finished AT ALL. Why try to copy generic games (valorant, cs...) if you already got a really creative refreshing gamemode?? The official game mode is just much better suited for the abilities in the game.

I think a LFG style system for ranked within the game would be interesting. Let’s say you are in platinum rank. And the party leader. You can host a team that locks joining for players which only the perimeters you can set. For example lock the lobby for Plat3+ no mediums. Then people can scroll through the lobbies see the ranks and classes of each person on the teams and either request to join or just join if the lobby is open for certain ranks or class. Idk wild idea might not work came to my head thought I would share goodnight

Day 91 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored two bullets every second, 100 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS. No headshot modifier to keep DPS from becoming insane.
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets, you’re probably not getting higher than 150 DPS even as far as 10 meters.
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no ā€œpocket minigunā€ strats, choosing to use this mid-combat is a commitment, one that could get you killed.
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

I hate the new recoil systems for the M60 and Lewis gun. Why punish players who bothered to learn a pattern in the first place? M60 has no damage but is borderline exploitable with its non recoil and Lewis gun has slightly more DMG but the recoil is beyond control.

Terminal Attack there is mostly 2-3 players , do nothing. Please bring back cash out ranked. If one player is dumb he can as medium heal and revive but 5 players and 3 players dumbbis too much. I dont play TA anymore world tour is enough for me

The new season has done a good job at implementing very fun alternative playstyles per class, which is amazing and I'm really greatful for it and there's been a lot of buffs especially for light that have made the class a lot more enjoyable however in the entire events of season two players haven't been complaining about the versatility of light. They have been complaining about the completely dire survivability. Yes its the point of the class, but to what extent is too much? with only 150 HP they are just useless in this balance meta. For example grenades: 149 DMG, RPG: 140, Charge and slam: 130(ish), Model: 100. its impossible to get value when after any tick of damage from any weapon cross all classes, light can literally be wiped from existence in some cases with the press of one button without any other thought process. Its awful balancing and the light class doesn't have enough counter-play for this for it to be balanced. Please do something, its been months and months and there's been very minor tweaks that do not change this issue at all. Its not fun, its not something that should be a feature of a competitive game, and its unfathomable how it even got through play testing to begin with. For the love of god, add class based damage to at least the listed offenders, or just nerf them

Please remove the option of changing your kit with your reserve during the game of TA, it just makes it a game of Rock Paper Scissors and unpredictability. Also makes NO sense you can change gadgets and not change specializations. You cannot learn your opponents gameplay style as one round they might have Thermal vision with an LH1, then next they have a sniper. This does not add "variety" to the game, it makes it feel like there is no progression mid game.

I just had THE PLEASURE to end up in a final round with the vault dropping under the map, and of course the other team popped right next to it while we were 200m away, so they won with 500 objective points and we had to wait 18 minutes doing nothing. GREAT. BEST SEASON EVERYBODY.

PEAK season, Embark hit the nail on the head. Ranked Terminal attack is the preferred ranked game experience.

Also can we make the invis noise alittle less audible? I'm tired of hearing me and my 4 other teammates invis all at the same time.

There's also a weird bug where sometimes one of the teams plant this key thing, and you have to disarm, it rarely happens but can you patch it out, it sometimes takes away from the 1 life TDM and makes the match longer.

Light’s pitiful HP and the excessive global damage levels mean it is a feast or famine class.

It still struggles in coordinated Cashout but is increasingly dominant in casual play (and the poorly thought out Terminal Attack with limited health regen).

Essentially it is either insta-gib or be insta-gibbed when playing as Light. This is terribly unfun for both parties.

Losing 93% of your HP to a low-skill RPG or being deleted by random clusterfucks of damage innate to this game feels horrible.

Likewise, meta Light weapons can all explode even a Heavy in an instant.

This will always be the case as long as Light’s health/global damage values remain the same. The class has always been very strong independently but hamstrung by its survivability. Thus extreme burst damage is necessary for its viability. But this is unfun.

Toning down global damage levels would allow Lights to actually survive a moderate level of damage and also relax their dependency on burst damage.

I have to quit.... ranked is broken. I won all but 2 of my placements and got put in bronze, and now I can't find a game without at least 2 lh1's in it. I don't want to join the trend that feels gross. so I'm out. This has been the only game I've been playing consistently since s1 but I can't do this. Teams are so unbalanced now imo - The world tour isn't that fun, I feel like its not as competitive n' my teammates are wandering all over the place. No one sticks together anymore - it feels like i'm wasting my time trying to find a good match to play in. I'm using up my coins up more often because teams are becoming more separated n' also people leave more often. Also, what do i earn for playing World Tour? Can anyone inform me?

For the ranked, I think we have to resume the cashout mode and make sure to do as before (a 3v3v3v3 and that at each end of the game, a team is eliminated.

Then just make a system with the possibility of losing ranks etc. and hop the trick is played.

The heavy is unplayable in this ranked mode! Too heavy, slow and big. The weapons too much recoil. It’s awful. In short, must change the ranked mode

Hope this message finds the dev team.

Its a good thing that they are sponsoring streamers to promote the game. But most of the sponsored streamer's live chat and players and my friends circle from my region said the same thing regarding The Finals. "I do want to play Finals but the game doesn't run well on my pc"

According to steam GPU survey, at least 76.7% comprise of the budget GPUs which doesn't include the 3060 Desktop version.
All these 76.7% of users wont be rocking a powerful CPU. So no matter how good the game is, The Finals can't benefit much from just 23.3% of users who have good PCs that can run Finals at 120 locked fps. I can confidently say that this is one of the primary reasons why the player base is not growing up.

The new map Kyoto feels much better than Sys Horizon but due to insane amount if vegetation and other things in the map, it increases the CPU load thereby reducing the fps to even lower level (horrendous)

If the focus can be directed towards the 76.7% of users, it will greatly boost the player base. And anyone reading this, if you feel this as a valid point then please do add a reaction so that this message reaches the dev team. I sincerely want this game to be successful.

You've done a FANTASTIC job with the bow. I might not be good at it, but it's become a staple of Season 3. It's fun to use, and it's effective. It's fun to watch other streamers use it. I enjoy playing with it and against it. It's popular for a reason, but not necessarily underpowered or overpowered. No need to change anything, not buff nor nerf it.

  • When you wipe an enemy team, you gain 30 percent of their lost money, there is possibility that this makes it too good to hunt people down instead of playing the objective, because of this you can either go two ways, when a team gets wiped, they drop COINS like bank it., picking up these tokens gives you money **OR ** you only gain 15 % of their money.

The purpose of this addition is to coinside with the next change, i think holding objective may be TOO OP, there may be certain scenarios where holding a cashout makes it impossible for one team to win. Overall this is only an addition if the next change comes in.

  • When holding cashout, @ 25 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ 75 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ Cashout Completion gain $5k, 3 Split rewards for one cashout. (overwatch capture point basically)
  • Spawns should be fixed, 3 v 3 at first vault, both teams should spawn at an equal distance to the vault, nobody should spawn with a Tempo Advantage
  • Charge N' Slam nerf
  • Higher cash reward for kills
  • No premade teammates in Diamond 2+ Emerald 2+, ladder rank should be based on individual skill rather than who stacks/plays more
  • Only One 22k vault should spawn, at this stage of the game, 1st place should be decided

i dont know who needs to hear this, but you need to balance light. as someone who has mained every class since the closed betas, light is by far the worst. i get that the class as a whole is suposed to be like a glass cannon, but in light's current state, embark is missing the cannon part. when I hop into any game mode as heavy, i'm dropping at least 15 kills, and that's not just in casual modes. I solo-q'd to plat in the last four days of the ranked season only using heavy. embark needs to buff light so badly, cause it's just not competively vialble anymore. right now, the light class is just glass. there is nothing valuble of light, as they have no good abilities that help the team. please just buff light, as its gotten to a point where I automaticly think that any light on my team is throwing in ranked.

disconnected 5 TIMES during a ranked game because of a "Server timed out" problem. I have to reconnect everytime and dont receive any changes to my rank. This has been a problem for me since downloading the game in season 2, and it has been making the game very unenjoyable to play when it does occur.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
  • Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
  • Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
  • Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders

FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
  • Remove the fov and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.

HOLDING THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:

  • Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.

FIX THE GLITCH TRAP:

Individual Performance shouldn't be in ranked. I wish Embark Studios learned this lesson from other titles who later removed it as well. Why should teammates be punished for having different win conditions outside fragging/interacting with a Terminal. At a minimum, have it for Bronze/Silver/Gold, but after Platinum+ it should be about team effort and coordination at that point.

The highest scoring player (combat/kills) in most games is generally a Light, running either LH1/TK. But this must be a coincidence right ? They must all be very skilled. It can't be because these weapons have absurd TTK compared to the others right ?

LH1 is busted for TA but light is unusable in cashout at higher levels of play. The problem is the health disparity between lights and heavies, the fact that heavies have insane burst damage options (RPG and charge slam should have been nerfed into the ground two seasons ago), high sustained damage (lmgs lol), and multiple means of externally altering their health (shields/barriers, etc).

Please turn down the chance of getting Kyoto in all playlist. You litearlly have the world tournament with it which has the map in a 2 map rotation. I'm playing powershift and getting Kyoto constantly. I'm refusing to play it after 2 times in a row. I will just leave. My record from yesterday is 12 Kyoto matches in a row and that wasn't counting the rejoins with the same group. If it was truly random pick from the 5 maps I'd be happy to play it but I'm not playing the same map 5+ times in a row. It's honestly not even a good map. Way too big. It does have a couple cool building designs though.

Two notes on Ranked TA, as much as I hate TA I do have some feedback on it and there's two major issues.
Teams pick their build based on whether they start attacking or defending in higher skilled teams because they can readily win 6 in a row and the enemy team now has to struggle to come back, Attacking & Defending teams need to change every 3 rounds- not every 6.

Secondly, Light's dominance is partly due to the LH1 being buffed when it honestly needed a nerf. Balance team stepped on a gas mine with that one.

The other problem with Light's dominance in TA is the fact everyone regens to a flat 100 health giving lights a slew of advantages and no disadvantages after first contact having the same health, more movement speed, better dueling specializations and a smaller hit box as well as vastly better firearms- To resolve this Light, Medium and Heavy should regen to half health instead of a flat 100 this would mean lights heal up to 75, mediums 125 and heavies 175.

Despite this feedback on Ranked TA, I'd still prefer playing ranked tourneys but it is what it is.

Yet again, I am advocating for some sort of "contestant" shout-out system.
The World Tour is going in the right direction with people being able to promote their Twitch (or whatever) in their username.

I am asking for Embark to go another step in the right direction and incorporate some way for top players to LINK their Social Media - IN GAME.

Not all of us will be able to reach the top so maybe create some sort of file share system (reminiscent of Halo games) where in the lobby you can check out their clips and get links to their socials.

This gameshow is about glory? Showing off your prowess to other players? Well that's what you give us.

Some people may not wanna be famous so they opt out of that feature, but since almost everybody wants to be a streamer or content creator, GIVE IT TO THEM.

I heard Oscar talking about Envy being the color of green. Well I think a game with features to help it's community possibly go viral would be a great way to make other gamers envious and make them want to give this game a try.

Those 3-5 clips you selected between season 2 & 3 was another step in the right direction but I'd be happy to share those on my SM. Especially if they were MORE FREQUENT.

I suggest these community submitted clips are highlighted more often and give us something to share.

THE DUAL KATANAS NEED A BUFF

The melee combo:

The 4 hit slash combo is pretty nice, but the dual slash at the end is just too slow. Most of the time I eat a facefull of bullets when I try to go for the third swing.

This wouldn't be a problem if the third swing could be canceled to deflect, and it would make sense because that attack forms the same "X" that the deflect stance does.

Speaking of deflect, I really wish it was more useful than it is

Don't get me wrong, it's great for ceating bullets,but When I watched the trailer, I thought the deflecting was going to be useful for getting close to people by running and deflecting.

After playing with it I was disappointed that I couldn't sprint while deflecting. But I kept on trying to make use of it as much I could so far.

overall it just doesn't work out very well when I do, they just slowly beam half of my HP away while only 3 or 4 of their shots hit them back. And since I can't sprint I can't even make the damage I'm taking, OR doing back to them feel worth the effort.

So, either allow sprint-deflecting.
Or add some other movement option to the blades.

An idea I had was to give a speed boost if you deflect while sliding.

Just give it something so it qdoesn't feel impossible to catch anyone other than a heavy(that can rpg my face off anyways).

It's fun feeling like a Darksouls boss(the 1 in 10 times it works) but these swords won't be genuinely useful unless you give more options movement wise.

"Win 3 matches in World Tour" should be a single round. Tournaments are made up of matches and world tour is a tournament. It's funny how I get progress towards "Play 3 matches in any game mode" but if I win a match/round in World Tour it doesn't count towards the first contract..

Your points on the advantages provided to Light in TA are spot on.

I would also like to add that Light also has:

  1. By far the best ranged gadgets via Sniper/LH1/Bow. The limited health regen (and also the single-life format) grant absolutely massive value to chip damage from afar, which these weapons are the masters of. The gigantic maps also play into this.

  2. The greatest ability to ambush. Again, the rules of the mode provide insane value to this tactic. Light has extreme repositioning capability as well as literal invisibility. Chunking a heavy briefly before retreating has limited value in regular game modes but is invaluable in TA. It’s stupidly easy and massively effective to employ these tactics in TA.

There were many Lights in all of my WT games. Even triple L teams. But each team had at least one. This was nowhere near as common in Ranked during S1/S2. You might say that's a good thing because it shows L is finally relevant... Well, I would agree, except that it is purely due to LH1 being so overwhelming. It's just good at everything with close to zero downsides. Not to mention TK, but at least they have their limitations and can't beam you from the other side of the map. Making a class viable by giving it OP/unbalanced weapons is not the way to make the game enjoyable for all players/all classes. Not at all.

I don't want the LH1 to be nerfed into the ground. It was one of my favorite guns to use before. Just revert it to its previous state. OR alternatively, up the DPS on M/H weapons so that the overall TTK across all classes is shorter. But I don't feel that's the right way to do it. The Finals has always been teamplay oriented. Making everyone able to easily clutch 1v3 with powerful guns = getting further away from the spirit of the game.

IMO the LH1 should clearly have its high recoil, old damage per hit, AND hipfire nerf. It should suck ass if you don't ADS.

Similarly, the FCAR should go back to 20 rounds/high damage per round, with the same hipfire nerf. Shooting without ADS should be all over the place. The need to ADS makes weapons harder to use up close, which is what high power rifles w/ high recoil should be about.

@patent sphinx Booh-ooh Light was oppressed two damn seasons. No it wasn't. It was good in the hands of skilled players. Many just did not know how to play it right, rushing head on without support... I've seen it hundreds of times.

But even for good players, it was always a very demanding class. Maybe too demanding. So it indeed needed some buffs here and there. The health regen speed for instance, was requested for a while, and a good idea. Not this utter non-sense. We're not gonna find a good middle ground if we unbalance the game the other way around by nerfing H/M weapons and buffing L weapons.

And to prove my point, two screenshots from my latest WT game. "P" in my language is Light. So 8 players out of 12 using that class. The game felt like a round of Bank It with Lights running/dashing around everywhere. Absolutely no H/M teamplay like we used to see before. In fact anyone playing H/M this round either ended up with negative/just about positive K/D. And guess what ? The best player of that round, in the orange team, got 14-4 using... the LH1. And constantly spamming it. I'm not saying it required no aiming skill, because his team mate also used the LH1 and got a worse K/D. But he was absurdly overwhelming.

If you enjoy seeing hysterical gameplay between swarms of Lights, well, I don't. I did complain about the stale meta of S2 with heal/defib/shields. But it was still more enjoyable/strategical than this chaos.

So fine that even best L player (Piggy) said that he playing Light only because it's his favorite class, and if it was money on the line on tournament for e.g. he switch to Medium. And that actually happened, all Light mains (sic!) ladder top 30 to top 100 btw, on our community tournament switched to Heavy, except one, lol.
You may say that i'm biased Light main, but facts are here still, and there is other Light players except few Diamonds.

Everything wrong with Terminal Attack as a gamemode inside of The Finals (especially as a ranked mode): 1: Maps are too big, too open and have to many angles. This ends in to different scenarios; either everyone runs around and it becomes a game of who spots who first with the outcome being either you getting killed without knowing from where or you killing someone without them knowing from where. Or option number two, defenders camp inside buildings and do nothing, then clearing all angles as an attacker becomes very frustration due to how the ttk on the weapons heavily favors the defender in a no regeneration mode like this. A bomb defusal mode/tactical shooter has to have relative simple and small maps with clear lines of attack, this allows for actual objective focused play both on defending and attacking sides. 2: I already mentioned it when I talked about the maps but TTK also doesn't work with the game design of bomb defusal. Getting damaged early (which is likely due to the open map design) is extremely punishing because you can't make up for this lost damage because 90% of weapons don't allow for a fast enough kill without you trading hp with the enemy (this is where the camping playstyle comes back into play which just isn't fun). It also sucks a lot of the excitement out of round because clutches are depend less on you own skill and more on how much the enemy fucks up. 3. Gadget and weapon balance do not fit into this gamemode at all, long range poke weapons basically outclass anything else and (even though I think cloak was balanced it cashout) in TA it is completely broken, basically anything that allows you to get get first hits and damage without trading hp back easily is very very strong. And I already know people will try to discredit my take by saying it is a skill issue etc. I just wanna say, I to this point won every game I played in the mode, so this is criticism from a winning position.

Delete cloak light and give it a special called Apparition that activates and lasts a short while. Increase run speed, slightly reduces incoming damage, and allows the Light to run through walls to demat them for a short time.

Cloak is just unfun in casuals.

Things that actually make sense to change. Give mediums smoke grenades as it would help with swords since you need to sneak to get most kills with sword anyways. Give heavy’s recon so they’re forced to use a spot for util instead of pure defense and rpg builds. Also change the way RS works you lose more than you gain which 1 loss after 8 wins should not be equal to almost 4 wins. Depending on ur game you can gain 400-500 if the team is bad compared to you. But u can lose almost 1500. Idk how we’re in season 3 and every single elo system we had has been just not fair to anyone lol

Cash Out has no rankings, so it's neither fun nor competitive. The TA is too long, and the time spent on guarding is longer than the time spent shooting, so it becomes tiring. Give Cash Out a rank too.

HOW TO FIX CASHOUT

  • When you wipe an enemy team, you gain 30 percent of their lost money, there is possibility that this makes it too good to hunt people down instead of playing the objective, because of this you can either go two ways, when a team gets wiped, they drop COINS like bank it., picking up these tokens gives you money **OR ** you only gain 15 % of their money.

The purpose of this addition is to coinside with the next change, i think holding objective may be TOO OP, there may be certain scenarios where holding a cashout makes it impossible for one team to win. Overall this is only an addition if the next change comes in.

  • When holding cashout, @ 25 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ 75 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ Cashout Completion gain $5k, 3 Split rewards for one cashout. (overwatch capture point basically)
  • Spawns should be fixed, 3 v 3 at first vault, both teams should spawn at an equal distance to the vault, nobody should spawn with a Tempo Advantage
  • Charge N' Slam nerf
  • Higher cash reward for kills
  • No premade teammates in Diamond 2+ Emerald 2+, ladder rank should be based on individual skill rather than who stacks/plays more
  • Only One 22k vault should spawn, at this stage of the game, 1st place should be decided

WHY ARE DUAL BLADES JUST BETTER THAN RIOT SHIELD IN EVERY WAY?

  • Blocks everything in your view, including your arms and feet, whereas Riot Shield is very vulnerable where your feet are always exposed and arms are nearly always exposed
  • Blocks melee damage
  • Attacks faster and deals much greater damage per second
  • No movement speed penalty
  • Doesn't obstruct your view when blocking
  • It's not very obvious that you're blocking, which can fool people into shooting you
  • Reflects all ranged damage back at attacker
  • NEED I SAY MORE?

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD UP TO PAR WITH DUAL BLADES:

  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can and do easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it. Not to mention bullets seem to go through all the time somehow, the player-model hitbox seems to constantly clipping through the shield.
  • While blocking and attacking, movement speed should be the same as walking
  • Blocking melee attacks could inflict a knockback/stun, and reduce melee damage significantly. Riot Shield is currently hard countered by all other melee weapons.
  • Increase melee range or attack speed slightly OR reduce wind-up duration when swinging the baton.
  • Remove the turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it much much harder to look around, especially with such a narrow viewing window.

RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, sometimes the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.

ABOVE ALL ELSE
Riot Shield should at the very least do one thing reliably, and that is BLOCK damage. Nerf the rest of it I don't really care as long as I can use it to survive. BLOCKING is the Riot Shield's core feature and it should be the best weapon in the game to do that.

  • Bring back season2's CASHOUT the way it was. Keep working on it too if you want to make it better as you said, but most of us are really missing what we loved the game for right now.

  • Try finetuning TERMINAL ATTACK, go wild. It needs a LOT of love to be accepted by us players, especially if you want to make it competitive. It needs to feed on the game's strengths, destruction, out-of-the-box thinking, team interactions, diversity in strategies and loadouts. It's not even in an introduction state right now. let alone ranked.

  • Care more about BALANCING new and old items and weapons, take your damn time. You create situations like what we see with throwing knives LH1 and Claw all the time because you need more of a subtle touch and more testing.

  • Keep bringing us fresh content like your skins, maps and fun events, you always nail them. Even new on-the-side game modes. Again, subtle additions and changes. Not turning the game on its head like what you did with S3.

Many players still believe in you, and in this game. I sure do. You can do it.

Some quality of life features that I would love to see:

  1. Separate Character Outfits from Character Loadouts:
    I want to be able to choose my saved loadouts separately from my saved character outfits.

  2. Ability to set and save different sensitivities for the various weapons.

Examples: When I'm using the xp as a light my sens feels very high, when I switch to the lewis gun on heavy it's too low to whip around and track a light in a close range battle. The sniper require a completely different sens for my game play as well. If I had the ability to save different sensitivities for each gun I would use more weapons more often. I don't like having to memorize the sens's I use for each weapon and swapping the settings at the start or in the middle of a match if I choose to swap weapons.

So true man, it is funny how some people think that Light is under-powered. With the Cashout gamemode that Finals was introduced - I believe the understanding was that Light is a class who helps in cashing out since it's quickest and can take out enemies in stealth with its amazing weapons, Medium was a class for Support and Heavy was a class for making the entry to say - a guarded cashout or be the offensive/defensive "guy", but with all this balancing that difference is obviously vague. Idk what are they planning but the weekend went by, and me and my pals tried some different games this time.

Edit: and that Cashout mode was actually what made me interested in it at first, it was different, fresh and exciting.

I agree. Even if it's not in the best state right now, the game has so many qualities that just can't be swept away from the table and still offers many satisfying moments.

What I'm afraid of right now, is that Embark may only make baby steps in each updates to come, like they've done in S2. While it makes sense to not throw off everything at once, in this particular case, they would need to do quite a lot of tuning on many of the S3 changes. They really need to think this TA ranked situation through, and act quickly before it ruins everything.

It really, really feels like it was Nexon's decision to push for this game mode. The reason why I think so is because The Finals was, AFAIK, performing below expectations. Shifting focus towards a more conservative 5v5 game mode, similar to other successful FPS games like CS, R6 or Valorant, doesn't feel like something Embark would do after spending so much time and effort building such a unique game. It definitely feels like a corporate 'cut the losses' kind of decision. The guys at Embark will of course never tell us what's really being said being closed doors. But at this point, we all kinda know how this industry works, and it wouldn't be the first time that executives with poor understanding of the gaming community interfere with a promising project.

Honestly, if that is the case, we really need to keep raising our voices about Cashout being the one and only mode we want The Finals to be focused around. I have no doubts that this game can and will become one of the top-tier FPS games. Embark clearly has both the technical skill and creativity to do it. But it must keep its unique identity. Or else it will just be forgotten like other generic games before.

several times in TA ranked match making is not fair, my points are only 20k and meet above 35k when playing with a team of 5 friends and vice versa when playing solo I get enemies that are below my points even they are unranked. the enemy also looks very brutal I don't know if they are using cheats? for proof check my streaming video

so a teammate in ranked ta dcs, we get the 60 second headsup saying match will be cancelled and we can't leave until it ends, comes back after round 1 starts, dcs again permanently like two seconds later, we now get to play a 4v5 from round 1 on, games really gotta work on this, or compensate the losing team.

@mossy otter Same here, I've seen so many lights even in diamond absolutely shred, but eveytime they were smart, not taking the fights head-on, always using their strengths. I made a point a few weeks ago to some light players that the class suffers from being too sexy. It attracts the casual and the young, they play it like it's CoD and they get the impression they are too weak. They are definitely not. They're just playing it wrong. And then the devs pander to them and it gets worse for everyone.

@unreal fossil Yeah they probably need to make a big step back on s3, at least in some aspects cough TA cough, but after that I hope they're gonna show more patience and light touch, like when they were showing us the betas advancing. S3 might be a corpo decision, I don't know either. But it's safe to say now they shot themselves in the foot big time seeing the players numbers and reactions.
I would LOVE many more modes in the game, I think it fits the game show spirit perfectly, prop hunt, CTF, whatever, but they need to work WITH the game core principles and strengths. TA does not, like at all. And Cashout should probably stay the main event in any case.

Funniest thing is, they made this gamemode with ZERO knowledge or understanding on how a 5v5 bomb defusal mode works and what criteria need to be fulfilled for this mode to work. They literally balanced the whole game around cash out, maps, weapons, classes and gadgets. This makes TA feel like a marketing decision where they went like; "well, cs and valorant are doing well so let's do that". Like pls embark, TA is a waste of time when it comes to making it competitive, you would basically have to change your whole game.

Terminal attack is lame. You have so many forms of explosive spam damage, plus lights being able to snipe your health pool with very little counter other than another sniper. Heavys that RPG you, you know are playing the game at lesser health pools, mines, etc. I can't even fathom how this is considered a more tactical experience. It's just attrition. Also, it completely abandons healing mediums.

At least let people slow revive if you are just going to put enough cheese in the game that makes us play the game mode at a lower health. I can't belive this is the ranked mode for the whole season.

I think dual blades should remain a bit more of an engage type weapon, but should slow you down to just a little slower than riot shield block when you're being shot, that'd also give it an offensive counter play by hipfiring at a sword user while backing up to maximize back peddle speed from them even though it'll hurt you too, also the damage split between the wielder and the ttacker needs balanced a bit, the sword user needs to take a little bit more of the damage compared to now.

here is my take on these beautiful balance changes.

I was diamond 4 last season and was resting 6000-7000 on leaderboard until i stopped playing.

  • lh1 is too powerful for being so easy to use, its end of season 2 state was more balanced than the current state.

  • heavy hook into melee has the ability to one shot lights which defeats all outplay possibilities. how will you nerf stun gun from its former state and then implement a longer range stun gun with instant kill potential for a class that has the highest hp pool? doesn't make sense.

  • medium dual blades feel bad to use and feel bad to play against, im not sure if its the duration or damage when reflecting, or the movement speed of it but it feels like a crappy riot shield and doesnt indicate well enough to opposing players when defensive stance is on compared to when riot shield is blocking

  • rpgs feel really weird this season, they're able to do full 140 damage to enemies behind walls and through floors when previously it did damage depending on distance right? i swear its never felt this powerful since the damage was reduced to 140

  • 93r is still crap

  • v9s buff is fine but was only added because of all the other changes enabling light to be approachable for anyone, completely unnecessary without the other changes. v9s is not good against heavy hook right now. longer distance light weapons like the lh1 are destroying lobbies currently and it has killed the variety of playstyles

HOW TO FIX CASHOUT

  • When you wipe an enemy team, you gain 30 percent of their lost money, there is possibility that this makes it too good to hunt people down instead of playing the objective, because of this you can either go two ways, when a team gets wiped, they drop COINS like bank it., picking up these tokens gives you money **OR ** you only gain 15 % of their money.

The purpose of this addition is to coinside with the next change, i think holding objective may be TOO OP, there may be certain scenarios where holding a cashout makes it impossible for one team to win. Overall this is only an addition if the next change comes in.

  • When holding cashout, @ 25 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ 75 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ Cashout Completion gain $5k, 3 Split rewards for one cashout. (overwatch capture point basically)
  • Spawns should be fixed, 3 v 3 at first vault, both teams should spawn at an equal distance to the vault, nobody should spawn with a Tempo Advantage
  • Charge N' Slam nerf
  • Higher cash reward for kills
  • No premade teammates in Diamond 2+ Emerald 2+, ladder rank should be based on individual skill rather than who stacks/plays more
  • Only One 22k vault should spawn, at this stage of the game, 1st place should be decided

there's a lot of issues with the winch, if you get winched as you are going up a zipline it bugs out and the camera goes all crazy but you continue to go up the zipline, sometimes if you get winched in the middle of doing certain actions it will just stop you from being able to do certain actions for the rest of the game. I just got winched and couldn't shoot after, luckily it was the end of the game and I had a team mate earlier today who couldn't interact or pick things up or steal after being winched, also it's crazy that it goes through shields when literally nothing else does.

I would like the game to be more beginner friendly as in lower ranked with lower ranked and have maps/games show best weapons to use, like melee vs melee to make it more fair. It's just a bit of a struggle to go up against players who are already really good at games like this versus people who just want to play for fun. Might just be me though

5v5 Quick Cash would fix the issue of third partying and it would provide a 5vs5 mode in line with the Cashout core gameplay.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a thought I had about the World Tour contracts in the game. Currently, we have three contracts that renew every two weeks: playing 10 rounds of World Tour, winning 3 matches in World Tour, and getting 50 eliminations in World Tour. These tasks are pretty straightforward and can easily be completed within the first day, as I managed to do.

However, this ease of completion means that everyone is likely to achieve these contracts, making them less impactful and not very beneficial in setting players apart.

I believe it would be much smarter if these contracts expired every 2 days and restarted, giving us 7 opportunities within the two-week period to complete them. This way, if you miss out on completing the contracts within the two-day limit, you'd miss out on those extra points that could really make a difference in standing out from the rest of the player base.

By implementing this change, the contracts would not only be more challenging but also add a layer of strategy and urgency, making the game more engaging.

P.S. I used ChatGPT to help write and spruce up this suggestion. I hope it adds value to our discussion!

also yeah, for future new maps, especially in the ranked lobbies, new maps should be restricted to at most 5% of the cycle. i feel like i'm stuck in suicide forest with a bag of marshmallows and no sleeping bag

Winch is SUCH an annoying skill to be on the receiving end of. No one enjoys cc in games. No one asked for this. When there are squads with three heavies running them… you can’t counter it at all.

Kyoto. The map is beautiful, great job on that. But there is something extremely frustrating about playing on this map. Visual clutter? Never would I have said that there is TOO much detail. I can’t even adjust the setting so that I can see the enemies through all the foliage. My character keeps getting caught on random debris laying around. Broken bamboos, broken guardrails, it ruins the momentum of fights and movement.

LH1 feels great but definitely over tuned.. perhaps consider giving it some damage drop off?

Agree with all the sentiments of players that don’t enjoy TA. I don’t enjoy that game mode either. The game wasn’t designed from the ground up to be a 5v5 attack and defend. Please leave that to games like Valorant and CSGO that specialize in it. How do you balance the classes for two game modes that play completely different?? Fix the core fundamentals of your main game mode and classes first before a side game mode. Forcing players that the only ranked mode on a polarizing game mode that isn’t the core of the game is frustrating.

Appreciate all the work the devs put into this season but it’s a frustrating start to the season. A lot of food for thought here.

Just refresh the game and bring the season 1 balance back, i play the beta non stop and season 1 like a crazy monkey but after all these strange patches I quit the game, I skip season 2 completely and now I try season 3 and it’s a mess. Light and heavy are the Meta and medium is just a healer class now its absolutely useless in combats. The biggest problem is this game transform into a Overwatch Clone idk something like this. LH1 was fine the way it was, just needed the small damage increase to stop the annoying fights where you die and your opponent has 3hp. It feels so bad with the recoil changes that I can't even use it now even though it's way easier to use comparatively, I've mained it since beta

@violet elbow it kicked like crazy and you have to be good at being able to fight the recoil while spamming it AND landing all your shots. It did need the small damage increase if anything and that's all it needed. if that's all they did to it, barely anyone would even notice a difference.

I have played 3-4 games of TA and I am absolutely done with it. I go out of my way to avoid valorant/CSGO type games because they are not for me. I don't enjoy dying in 2 seconds and staring at a spectate for two minutes. I also play ranked modes in any game they're available. This mode is not fun for me or my group. We're done with ranked until S4 and play much less compared to s2 because of how unserious/boring world tour is combined with the absolutely disgusting state of the meta.
The move to melee weapons/lh1 (which was overbuffed) meta feels awful, heavy weapons that aren't spear/slug are useless due to the un-needed nerfs to lewis/m60. The only good change to old weapons was the nerf to throwing knives. Power creep has become VERY BAD. Spear is a better sledge, swords are a better riot shield etc. There is almost no reason to use them as they've been essentially superseded by these new weapons. A BIG thing is the hook. This has absolutely ZERO PLACE IN THE FINALS. HARD CC IN A SHOOTER SHOULD NOT EXIST!! Have we learned nothing from overwatch?! There is nothing that feels worse than losing control of your character in a shooter /getting displaced. And in this game it's even worse because there's no hero system to hard counter/cleanse things like a stun. We nerfed the stun gun (rightfully so) but add something that is 3x as good to heavy? Are you kidding me? Remove this hook crap in s4 or make it a gadget and only make it usable on objects/totems to grab allies to res them. This has no place in the finals.
Most gadgets, slow/medium range weapons do not fit in this format at ALL. Grenades are barely used, same thing with mines. Anything that's not long range puts you at an immediate disadvantage. The whole mode is best played when you have a bunch of lights playing team death match where everyone only has one life. Very rarely do I see teams actually playing the objective. Medium having half their kit disabled illustrates how fundamentally incompatible this format is with the finals. Since turret is your only "real" option, the turret auto aims and snaps to people, chipping away at their HP which no longer recovers. Sonar revealing you is devastating because of this as well, your position is revealed, people can jump you and its over.
Finally a small point: Kyoto is not fun in cashout. It's very obvious that the mode was designed for terminal attack, and once cashout returns (if it does) as the ranked mode, this map has glaring problems. There's almost no verticality, the map modifiers like moving platforms/suspended structures feel terrible on it and the map is designed with lanes/sections clearly defined, almost like it is a CSGO map, cause it is.
IN SUMMARY: Big issues with season 3 include the unfun/toxic meta shift to melee weapons. Power creep. The shift to a ranked format which is fundamentally incompatible with this game's classes/gadgets, rendering a large portion of them less or more powerful by simply being in this search and destroy format. This same format is slow, doesn't take much use of the destruction physics that make the finals THE FINALS, and any map that isn't kyoto is painfully obvious that it does not work/wasn't designed with terminal attack in mind.
FOR S4, MY SUGGESTIONS: Keep world tour, but make the ruleset change weekly to keep it fresh, the mode is fun but not being positioned alongside a ranked cashout feels like a punch in the gut. Bring back a tweaked ranked cashout to replace terminal attack and keep TA as a queueable non ranked mode with a best of 7 format. Scale back the power of the weapons/gadgets that were buffed in season 3. Shift away from the heavy melee weapon meta you created in season 3 and try to make the items superseded useful in some capacity again. Finally: REMOVE/REWORK THE HOOK! This item is a big mistake.

  • kyoto has really bad fps issues that need to be addressed, no reason players should see 60-100 fps drops even with lowered graphics because of a map

  • release the kitsune mask please, i had it in beta give it back >:(

  • lh1 headshot damage should not be 156 for no recoil

  • bow is okay, should have a better option for no full charge for hip fire or something to allow for survivability, very hard to help your team with it instead of any other weapon

  • ranked was a key reason i played this game, i wanted a game that was fun, innovative, good looking, and had an option for decent competitive gameplay and now the largest reason i kept playing after season 1 is now gone, once this battlepass is done i will not play again, terminal attack is not the best and it should either be a secondary ranked choice like overwatch does with competitive CTF and stuff, or it should be only cashout.

the dual swords are either bugged or need a in depth guide on how they work. 75%+ of the bullets i try deflecting just disappear. if deflection is going to be a feature on these things then it needs to be more consistent.

also the swords themselves without deflection are very weak, they need to swing faster or something because if the deflection bugs out then theres not a chance i win the fight with how bad they are as a regular melee weapon.

the high burst damage weapons on Light (TKs, Lh1, Db, Bow, sniper) being easy to use and rewarding the way they are right now makes the class absolutely miserable to play against, on light you just lose to people spamming oneshots your way now.

I main light, I don’t think weapons like the throwing knives or lh1 needed buffs (gadgets did and I am happy with the new invis stun gun and heal buff) These new weapon buffs made a lot of players try light when they wouldn’t usually and I find there’s been an increase in usless light teammates which is frustrating. Also the terminal attack hate is weird to me since cash out still seems to be the main game mode and you aren’t forced to play terminal attack, I’m not aware of any rewards that are locked behind TA either. I don’t like TA either but I just don’t play it, I don’t see how TA being the new ranked mode is so controversial since it’s objectively a more competitive mode

@cold bolt TA is definitely more competitive having one life and no 3rd partying or random last second steals are more competitive, not as fun as cashout but TA is more competitive. i agree the game isnt balanced or made for s&d but i like the destruction element it adds so that fights are more dynamic and interesting vs other s&d games where youll be fighting in the same couple lanes pointing you crosshairs at the same couple doorways for the entirety of a games life cycle which is why i see the appeal of and appreciate this games take on the gamemode if people like it and wanna play it i think thats good. i didnt know the ranked skins were only in ta since in world tour you seem to have a rank there as well. if those skins were made available to world tour players i think that would be better but i have a feeling people would still be mad at TA. cashout still exists tournaments still exist and are the focus of the games balancing i see nothing wrong with adding a gamemode and i encourage the devs experimentation with this cool new sandbox

I love how all these low skilled heavy players complain about light being somewhat viable for once and attempt to make light irrelevant again. Lh1 is fine, get over it. Lights need damage and even then they are countered in so many ways and being oneshot in so many ways. Lights are still useless in any cashout mode and in ta they are viable but still not great. If anything needs nerf its heavy, any competent heavy player is laughing at light players.

S&D is only more competitive in a vacuum. Yes, it's a tried and true competitive mode, there are at least 3 very popular fps games still successful to this day that revolve around S&D.

In this game, it is definitely not more competitive than Cash Out. This game wasn't built for S&D, whether it be the maps, the abilities, the guns or the kill time. Cash Out had issues yes, but what we had then was infinitely better than Terminal Cancer.

Not to mention people just don't play this game for S&D in the first place, so ofc people are upset.

Also, like every season, gold plat diamond (and now ruby) skins are locked behind ranked elo, and this season's ranked is TA.

Some fun ideas for new toys in The Finals- if we make it to season 4 at this rate.

Weapons-

Model 1897 (not the model 1887)- also called a Trench Gun, slam-fire shot gun for medium loaded with dragon's breath, similar effective range and damage outputs to the SA1216 but with the added benefit of Fire Damage for an added dot and burning goo/gas, although a 5 shell capacity and single loading.

XM-25 for light, as a higher velocity lower damage per hit grenade launcher with a more direct flight path and fast rate of fire.

Desert Eagle for heavy, their own version of R.357 with worse range and a slower rate of fire but bigger per-shot damage, let heavy in the hand gun club already!

Specializations-

Personal Shield for Medium, pressing Q to activate a shield that's worth 100 hit points but loses 5 hit points per second while active recharging at a rate of 5 points per second when not active, a benefit for front line and fragging mediums who need an edge against the heavies.

Rewind for Light, Pressing Q to send the light back to where he was 4 seconds ago with the health he had four seconds ago as well!

Fire-Bomb Launcher with a recharge of 1 shell every 15 seconds and a maximum of 3 charges, with each shell dealing minimal damage on impact but acting like a pyro nade otherwise burning an area.

Gadgets-

Hologram for light- acting similarly to the one we saw in Halo Reach to bamboozle our enemies.

Medi-Dart gun for medium, a weaker alternative to the Healing beam to offer some diversity and usage in the specializations we see employed by mediums in the core game modes- allowing them to pick another specialization without giving up all healing options.

No idea what Heavy really needs for another gadget.

But these are just some fun ideas, I don't expect any of them to make it into the game but who knows, they'd certainly be a lot of fun and mix things up.

as a high skilled light player, lh1 is absolutely unbalanced and definitely an issue, light has always been viable from beta to now but over powered =/= okay. Light is a glass canon, a high skill high risk high reward playstyle and it should not have such easy, free, riskless damage potential without a tradeoff. the tradeoff before was high visual recoil which made it harder to hit those high damage shots, but not its almost hard NOT to miss them.

-World Tour's limited map variety is already getting old. This might not be a problem if it wasn't the only option to play tourneys/cashout.
-Obligatory "Bring back ranked cashout."
-Winch claw is purely an anti fun tool. It might be fun for the person using it, but getting combo'd by a stun plus displacement tool is just miserable. Even when I'm the one using it I feel bad. It's not even hard to land. Not to mention how silly it is with pulling people around corners/through walls.
-Dual blade's third hit on their combo needs to not hit like a limp noodle. The deflect arc could also afford to be more generous, and if not that then at least increase the accuracy of deflected shots.
-Spear's right click has massive issues with hit reg and overall just feels incredibly screwy.
-Buffing LH1. Why? Just... why?
-Bugs, bugs, bugs. Many of which have been around since season 2. Infinite load screens, being unable to sprint, hit reg issues, warping enemies, goo breaking for no reason when I use demat on an unrelated part of the structure, dual blades swinging automatically when swapping from a tablet gadget/spec, broken heal beam, melee weapons appearing while carrying objects, perma glitched UI, etc. I genuinely can't think of them all off of the top of my head.
-Reshaper needs a very small input delay (Even a tenth of a second or something) so if you're trying to spam click to get off a clutch reshape on an RPG or something you don't instantly waste both charges.

Heavies should have to hit their shots and be rewarded for being able to do so. LMGS shouldn’t have zero recoil like how the m60 was changed. Give them good damage, but bad recoil. Like an ACTUAL LMG. In compensation for a recoil nerf but damage buff to heavies LMGs:

Nerf the broken DPS utility. When nerfing the primaries, even good heavy players will crutch on RPG and charge more. Nerfing these broken DPS utilities will cause heavies to play more into their defensive and destructive roles, and have rewarding and stable LMGs to rely on.
Not zero damage plink machines with no recoil (current m60).

@cold bolt you literally are "handwaving" what i said. having one life is more competitive no 3rd partying or random last second steals are more competitive, consistency is important in competitive modes. we all agree TA sucks and the game isnt/shouldnt be balanced around it and we all agree i dont know who youre arguing with when you say the game wasnt made for it, but youre just wrong when you say that cashout is more competitive. just dont play TA, very simple. when embark sees the low player count in that mode theyll change things, embark has been open to change and criticism about all aspects of this game and im sure the community outcry will lead them in the right direction. typing "terminal cancer" all over their discord isnt gonna have the effect you think it will.

You can't hand-wave this game not being made for S&D in what I said before. TA is not more competitive than Cash Out when it exists as the mess it currently is. Again, S&D is only more competitive in games built for the mode. This game was not, don't gloss over it. If you've played the mode at all you know it doesn't fit, most ppl in vc, reddit, yt, discord, twitch are saying the same thing.

Yes, Cash Out has multiple teams, third party tactics and some bs last second steals for winner takes all. Despite all that, it has better strategic depth than TA ever will in this game. Arguably more gun skill too considering TA is just invis LH1.

There are way too many cheaters in ranked matches. If you're going to change the ranking system, at least get rid of the cheaters. If you can't do that, then revert the ranking system to how it was before.

I already said it before, but I'll say it again: Embark please undo the CL-40 nerfs. It's just so unfair towards the gun, it already used to be by far one of the weakest medium weapons with the highest TTK and now it's completely unusable - and I say that as someone who has played over 300 hours on it alone. It's impossible to duel Lights now and significantly harder with other classes as well

idk how many people have already said this, but please revert the changes to sliding on bounce pads.

There is no serious change in gameplay by it being in the game. Sliding on bounce pads to gain a slight boost to movement speed only adds to the movement style of the game, and only makes a difference on a few pads in the old maps. Im not sure if it has to do with a complication on the new maps, but it was just a really fun mechanic that added to the way bounce pads could be used.

Please, sliding on bounce pads doesnt hurt anyone or cause any negative impact to any players. its just a neat thing that can give you a slight boost to momentum that could make or break some moments, like when the bouncepad is just slightly to far away from the suspended structure.

it only hurts the game for it to not be there anymore, nothing is gained by taking it away.

If anybody else agrees, please speak up, because i dont want this to be a forgotten mechanic in the game. Its a small thing, but its a neat thing that adds to the game in ways that are fun for everyone.

Was a bit cautious but still optimistic for S3, but not gonna lie, I'm not in favor of it anymore as well. First and foremost, "Cashout will never leave the spotlight as the most important part of THE FINALS.", while new players are required to play 5 matches of TA to unlock other modes such as quick cash. The vault and cashout gameplay is so unique and made me fall in love with this game.

Health regen values, guardian turret change, glitch mine rework, and gadget changes are all good. Alongside some minor weapon tweaks and improvements to useability such as KS-23 pump rate.

Now the bad.

Remember when cloak light db spam that can 2-shot any class in S1? Well, now we have throwing knives (where nobody uses the charge attack anymore its all spam), bow with no falloff, LH1 buffed even more, and db is back to being able to 2-shot any class.

Remember when light stun gun spam giving free kills? Well, now we have the winch claw for heavy that not only stuns, but also pulls and allows them to do a survivable point blank rpg.

What happened to the "long ttk" gameplay?

The CL40 was given a damage nerf and a fire rate buff, making it one of the second lowest dps to the lowest dps weapon. The only poasible reason for this is due to it's burst being too good in TA but in TTK, it's one of the slowest and will lose most duels if not careful. This change made it unable to fight against heavies and emphasized the long reload time due to the 4 rounds being gone quicker.

In s2 ranked, despite it being a poor pick, I still brought it to plat. It's main gimmick is despite the low dps, you need to play safely/area denial and learn its trajectory for mid-long shots. The fire rate, reload, and ammo was low but it was rewarding to hit direct hits.

Overall. Didn't care about TA, but if core game and balance changes are catered to it instead of the core gameplay of the game it will mess up balances for other modes. Showing more that, already built gameplay and balance isn't fit for it.

Embark should rework the spear such that it can be thrown with a toggle feature. They should also fix the alt attack cause it feels super inefficient and clunky as of now.

bring back the slide jumping mechanic on the jump pad. These movement mechanic are what makes the game better and it creates a skill ceiling. It gives an incentive for players to players to practice these mechanics and become consistent. this also includes that double jump thing when climbing a obstacle.

Nerf the LH1 and the throwing knives. Give the throwing knives and bow some sort of reload animation like picking up bows and taking knives from the pocket.

in kyoto, maybe more jump pads can be inserted cause rn some of the jumpads are one sided and take a long time to reach cash outs. So if they were more jumpads on the opposite direction that would be great.

We also need more character slots with the new skins we're getting.
Another thing for cosmetics - they should let you choose voice

Played 6 TA ranked matches yesterday with a friend of mine. We’re both still silver, almost gold. All 6 matches we played against 5 stacks including top 500 players, and of course we got slaughtered to oblivion. Our teammates were mostly unranked, and some of them might have touched the game for the first time looking at their movement. Man, that was so demotivating.. Please give me proper teammates when going against the best players. I’m already giving TA a fair chance even though I want cashout ranked, this isn’t really helping tbh

some form of animation cancelling with the block, 90% of the time you cant block because of some other animation in the way like attacking or even just pulling them out
increase the damage resist percent, you die really quickly even if you are blocking every shot

I will say that I wish a couple of changes made to the game would be

  1. Keep Terminal Attack Name but Turn it into Demolition from Older CoD games (Respawning vs Single Life)
    This would allow the variety and fun, that Cashout can bring but different versus it feeling like playing Generic Hero Shooter Clone #17
  2. Respawn Changes
    I wish the game adopted a system of starting off with really fast respawn times (under 6 seconds) then gradually increases the more death that you acquire. There are some cases where Team Respawning is faster than the individual respawn sometimes, making it the penalty of dying feel worse than a Team Wipe.

I like The Finals as it isn't like any other shooter out there except BRINK, even if this game becomes niche with dedicated fans, Season 4 is going to see how they define themselves, and from the looks of it World Tour could be the way to introduce in modes and concepts into the game since its bi-weekly, if not it could be the future format of Ranked. Only time will tell

One Change to Each Class

  1. Light - Better and Longer Lasting Mark
    Looking at some of the weapons and gadgets that the Light has, to help out the team more give them a better more defined mark that lasts around 5 to 6 seconds, one that doesnt stay in the current location you point at why marking targets. It could truly help Light have a more defined role, even when doing there own thing. Lights could be the Intel of the team with there movement options, and a better mark (in a similar style to the sonar, Less Duration) could define them.
  2. Medium - Faster Revive Time. Since they are the only one with any support gadgets, Healing Beam and Defib, it would be nice to at least get 20% reduction with reviving, if not more healing gadget options (Medkit that heals in an area like throwing down a dome shield, but can be damaged)
  3. Heavy - Hold 3 Seconds for a Higher Jump
    This would be a solution instead of using Barricades as a Jumping off Point into a level, that Mediums and Lights can reach. It would need a sound que (similar to the Bow's Ting and Flash, when pulling the bow all the way back.) Would help with the vertically impaired class, only enough to jump up to the next floor. But at the cost of immobility. Or an Adrenaline Surge Gadget for 7 seconds could have the movement between a light and a medium, just for better movement options in clutch situations

Just more support rewards to pop up like Revive on screen with points but with Marking Targets (call it Good Eye) and Taking a lot of Damage and Surviving (call it Bulletproof)

Considering the regular update pattern so far, we can probably expect the next update around June 20th.
However, this time, it is crucial to make improvements immediately, even if it means breaking the usual cycle.
While I understand that the update content is substantial, the fixes for ranked matches should be prioritized and implemented as soon as possible.
The disappointment that Season 3's ranked matches have caused among players should be taken seriously.
I love "THE FINALS" and want it to be a game that survives. Development team, please, do your best...

  • LH1 DID NOT NEED A BUFF. It was already borderline overpowered in Season 2. Now it kills as fast as the M11, making it far and away the most broken gun that this game has ever had. It needs its damage reverted back to 49 (but don't change the fire rate).
  • 93R DID NOT NEED A NERF. It was already an unremarkable gun compared to the likes of the M11 and V9S. Even with the range buff, it is STILL unremarkable compared to similar weapons like the XP-54, LH1, and even the Throwing Knives! It has no niche. It's Light's worst weapon. It needs the fire rate nerf to be reverted (but not the range buff) for it to have a CHANCE of being relevant in the meta!
  • Bring back Ranked Tournament! None of your dedicated players or content creators enjoy the game mode. It also confuses new players when they come into a game that's about KILLING and DESTROYING everything for CASH, only to be met with an awfully balanced and slower-paced Rainbow Six: Siege.

I miss Season 1 for many reasons: 1. the game was a lot more ballanced and the playerbase wasn't 90% light. 2. weapons were a lot more ballanced than it is now, mainly because there were less. Not to mention how much better the Battle pass rewards were.

So I started the finals when it first came Out on release not beta when I first played it I loved this game it was so refreshing I remeber when I started I had to play something like 40 games of quick cash to get into ranked I actually went over the required games I forgot about ranked cause I was having fun all the quickness of the maps the random events the competitiveness. Now fast forward to season 3 it doesn’t feel that way any more I think it’s The nerfs you keep doing idk but it feels off this season and speaking of this season they said T/A is coming to ranked am like okay that’s cool T/A and CAsh Out in ranked. no now we just get T/A ranked so you need to play 8 games of T/A to get you rank placement and this has to be one of the worst grinds I had todo in the finals i should have went to work and did a 12 hour shift the game mode is slow paced I nearly fell asleep between games.. the world tour is a good idea but people keep leaving when they die one time I had to play through 5 games with just 2 of us n my last game i had enough and I actually left I get a 2 hour ban for the first time leaving crazy I don’t know if I’ll be here at the end of this season

how to fix the current balancing (in my opinion):

Heavy:

  • Revert Lewis to OB Recoil

  • Slightly buff M60 range

  • Nerf Claw Range to around 10-13m

  • Nerf Charge damage from 130 to 74, buff slam damage a bit and knockback slightly

  • allow Melee in Mesh again

  • Nerf RPG to 50min/120max damage, reduce cooldown from 45s to 40s, slightly nerf aoe damage drop and compensate by increasing destruction damage

  • Buff KS23 to 105 damage to allow 2 shot + quick melee on mediums

  • increase ALLIED player speed in grav cubes

Medium

  • Slightly Buff FCAR Range (.55 to .6 multiplier at range)

  • Buff Famas famas range and give it a zoomed scope (.55 at range, 2x scope)

  • Buff Dematerializer to 4 uses

  • Buff revolver reload speed from 2.2s/2.5s to 2.0s/2.2s, buff range to a .57 scalar at range to allow 6b medium kills and 4b light kills. (42 damage)

  • add a small delay to data reshaper so spamming to reshape an RPG does not instantly consume 2 charges.

Light:

  • revert TKs damage buff from 63 back to 60 (5 hit against mediums again)

  • make TKs and Bow less spamable by either significantly increasing their shot delay or by lowering their velocity

  • revert Lh1 damage buff, nerf Lh1 rpm further, keep the recoil change (49 damage, 240 rpm), this gun needed a nerf, not a buff

  • fix the XP54 Recoil Bug please.

  • Rework Invis: 1s Cloak and Decloak time, unable to shoot guns in invis, fully invisible while standing still and crouch walking, less visible while moving.

  • slightly buff V9S range to its open beta version

  • allow dagger backstab to be held (for a longer duration at least)

  • keep the 93R buff, revert the rpm nerf, give it a red dot sight.

  • glitch nades at 5s are fine, however a 7s duration would also not hurt them.

  • buff grapple cooldown or nerf cooldown and make it a gadget to allow space for a 3rd light spec that will actually see use.

After having some time with dual blades I feel it has 2 primary issues:

  1. Deflect does not register correctly most of the time making it extrememly difficult to block. Either the register needs to be corrected or potentially make the block 100% block damage like riot shield to compensate.

  2. Allow for animation cancelling on primary attack to block. As it is medium has very little resources to help mitigate the distance between you and the enemy. Forcing the animations to complete while mid fights makes it almost impossible to defend yourself and just feels un fun to play. Allowing for cancelling would at the very least give mediums a chance to survive.

The LH1 was already one of the best weapons in the game, it only saw little usage because only the best players could control its wild recoil.

I recommend reverting the damage buff (which affects breakpoints and is thus invaluable) and further reducing the ROF by a decent margin.

As it is, the LH1 deletes enemies of any class at all ranges. The buff to its stability aids it greatly at long range and the buff to its dispersion makes it strong at close and even point blank range.

The usability buffs (stability, dispersion) feel good, so I’d keep them. But the spammability of the gun is way too strong.

Further reducing the ROF should hurt it least at long & medium ranges - its natural areas of prowess - and most at close ranges, where it should not be remotely this strong.

Another avenue to consider would be adding a wilder recoil that kicks in quickly if the weapon is fired at max ROF.

The LH1 also has 15 in the mag, which might be something to lower on top of the aforementioned damage/ROF nerfs.

The LH1 needs to be powered down, but personally I think it makes no sense that the light class even has that gun. They already have Sniper as a long range option.

Medium should have LH1 as an option. Without specializations that Light has, LH1 isn’t nearly as busted in the hands of medium while offering them a truly long range option.

The fall off nerfs they made to the current AR trio doesn’t allow those to be considered reliable long range options.

Embark Allow heavy players to throw their spears. But not unlimited like the throwing knives. Instead when u throw it once u have to wait for it to come back to ur hand kinda like Thors hammer. It's literally a SPEAR. And having to wait for it to come back even to engage in close range battle prevents it from being overpowered but viable longer distances. You guys have absolutely destroyed any resemblance of balance with the previous update to the extent that a "small nerf" does nothing at all.

Every garbage player swaps to these mid match and completely turns the game around. You can kill a light in 0.25 seconds , a medium in 0.6 seconds, it has range and you can spam that garbage nonstop.

It makes every clown think theyre actually good at fps and completely renders all my practice the past 15 years on fps useless.

Congrats, the game is a joke now and no longer skill based.

There needs to be some sort of role draft for TA. Otherwise meta will be exploited non-stop since TA is such a 2D game (us vs them). Light is meta for TA and that’s all you will see. If you swap the meta in any direction you will see everyone flock to that as well. If you limit the amount of classes per team then this adds way more balance and way more strat. Max 2 of every class. This way every class has to be present in a full team.

Make Quick Cash the ranked solution to run parallel with TA. This would lead to faster tournaments therefore making queue times a lot less of an issue. It's a good in-between solution since it is very similar to Cashout. Maybe make it 30k cap.

It will also solve those lopsided games where one team is just that more dominant than everyone in the lobby and running up the scoreboard. I know this makes players feel bad so a capped mode is good. I've been on the receiving end of those games and it makes playing through the tournament discouraging because although you can make it to the finals, you have no shot of winning. When a team is that much more dominant than another team, it's less apparent in quick cash. Please consider this if you feel queue times could be a problem with both running as parallel ranked modes. Once again, I love seeing the player base up and I'm trying to be as positive as possible while giving feedback.

Last, this will depend on how the player count is at season's end and your dev team has probably considered it. People love the fast-paced nature of this game. A TDM mixliist would be fun. It can consist of TDM, CTF, KotH, PS

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here are a few ways that can improve the shield, as it underperforms against any other ranged and melee weapon. I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • The shield should block a larger area of the body to make it more consistent at blocking melee, bullets, and splash damage. Players with decent aim can easily hit the arms and legs which defeats the whole purpose of it.
  • Blocking melee attacks should inflict a knockback to prevent melee weapons from clipping through and scoring a second hit with the active frames.
  • Increase the melee range, even just +1m of range would make it feel so much better to catch enemies that were just outside your range before.
  • Electrify the baton and allow it to glitch enemies for a very short period, it would provide a lot of team utility and prevent dash lights and charge and slam heavies from effortlessly hard countering shielders

FIX THE RIOT SHIELD BUGS:

  • When picking up throwables in the arena, the first person shield model gets messed up and blocks your entire screen.
  • Remove the fov and turning speed reduction when you raise the shield to block, it makes it overly clunky to use and feels terrible in a fast pace environment.

HOLDING THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

GIVE SMOKE GRENADES TO ALL CLASSES:

  • Give smoke grenade to all classes! It would open so many strategies for the other builds! I would use smoke so much if it was on medium, especially to better support my team against fire, detection sources, or to help revive teammates, and steal cashouts in an open area.

FIX THE GLITCH TRAP:

  • Glitched heavy can still use the winch claw and it doesn't stop chargeNslam

I really hope we get access to our reserve in world tour soon.
The way it is now there's basically no way for me to experiment with loadouts in cashout and i constantly feel forced to pick certain weapons and gadgets.
World tour seems like it should feel like the main casual mode to play with its ranks rewarding multibucks, so feeling forced to grind it out with "meta" weapons somewhat drains the potential fun out of it.

Just wanted to say I am so happy with World Tour, and the added time to Cash Out games now that play into the 5/6 vaults consistently.

Season 2 ranked was way harder with such limited time, allowing teams to hold the final vault and often ending games after vault 3/4.

Hit registration with the flamethrower is completely off since season3 started. As a flamer maniac I can tell. It's now very unreliable. Having a light 4shot you with throwing knives in cqc, vaguely strafing left and right, leaving with almost full health when you doused him extensively all the while is a real bad time. And because it's not the case everytime (sometimes it does work exactly like it used to) I'm thinking something needs to be fixed.

An idea I've had and wanted in the game for some time now is to add what season a battle pass cosmetic you got was from. For instance, if I hovered over the Wanderer skin, it would say at the bottom "Unlocked in season 3". It already says this under skins and items you haven't unlocked from the battle pass, but not after you unlock them, so I think that should be kept to be able to remember what season something is from and if you got it from the battle pass or not.

We respawned from a team wipe during Power Shift, when they were within 10 seconds of hitting the finish at 150m away...So then just call the game and don't respawn us at that time. Plus, sometimes you actually make it more worthwhile to team wipe then to actually run to the objective. Another new season and I have to ask for the same thing again.

Increase the length a player has to return to the game before they are kicked from it automatically or even remove the auto kick altogether.

Players have the options to leave the game or reconnect already, anyway, so if someone wants to leave the game they will and it is not like they are able to hold the lobby hostage as you can't join a ranked game in play.

The only thing the current system is doing is punishing crashes (which still are more common than people would like), internet disconnects and other similar events where the players tries to get back into the game.

In light of TA being not the most loved game mode added, I think with the mechanics of The finals would lend itself extremely well to a capture the flag style game mode. It would create an extremely dynamic game to have 3 or 4 teams try and cap the same flag. The point of conflict on the map would constantly be changing, forcing people to be reactionary rather than planning for the map.

This would be so great for the finals. The bottom 2 floors could be shielded from the outside to annul RPG/thermal bore insane damage, and the bomb would be on the 2nd floor. The floors above would have jump pads to get you to the enemy building quickly! It'd be a mix of offense and defense for both teams... but i'll stop rambling now. It's just something that's been in my head since season 1 šŸ™‚

Hard to fathom the resources they put in the map but everything else is so basic. The map required all new assets for everything and is gorgeous- probably the best looking mp map since BF1. But then the weapons are no guns; a bow and two melee weapons. New specializations? Just 1. After six months a tenth ā€œcharacterā€ was just added. The Terminal Attack changes are just mind-boggling. Impossible to understand the thinking here… It’s not even a good version of S&D. Had they gone with a Rush/Demolition clone it would’ve turned out much better. I’ve been at 6:6 in TA last play of the match and instead of suspense it’s still boring. TA is a complete waste of money and forcing new players to complete 5 matches of that terminal snooze is repellant. Good thing they’ve started marketing /s

Un-controversial changes I think we would all enjoy:

Route pinging: I would love the ability to hold the ping button and drag to another point to suggest a course of action for my team, (i.e) holding ping on a cash box and then dragging to the cashout station to let them know what our plan is.

When spectating team mates post mortem I would love the ability to interact. I missing being able to spam *Hype when my last remaining team mate 1v3’s the other team, wins and proceeds to steal their cashout, those moments are precious, and community building, and were fun!

UI tweak: In the beginning of the match the cash boxes icons briefly appear on screen then move out to the edges indicating where they are on the map, this animation is super helpful when playing on large screens where icons on the edge of the screen might be small and harder to notice or obscure each other. I would love to make this a toggleable option so every time a new cashbox becomes available and for cashout stations.

UI tweak: For the love of all things good in this world, when I ADS make the cashout icon transparent so I can see the person stealing at range. There's been a handful of times where I could have stopped a steal but the icon letting me know the steal is happening is obscuring the person I need to shoot.

UI tweak: the portal grenades meter indicator can be obscured by other objective icons which makes it difficult to use in practice. I would love to see a better indicator that behaves more like the thermal vision where the load bar indicates distance from your first portal point.

Stun gun: Getting stunned should drop you from a zipline, bonus points if getting stunned while on a zipline causes the stunned player to scream (similar to heavys charge and slam yell.)

Player statues: being able to distinguish light, medium, and heavy by player statues would be huge! Games have been lost by players reviving a light with defibs when they should have defibrillated the medium or heavy on their team. The quick decision making required under fire is more fun if it's more clear.

Movement: Knowing when to slide onto a jump pad to gain a little extra range was a form of skill expression. Knowing how to mirror's edge style speedrun to the cashbox is part of the core gameplay of cashout, give us this one back.

Movement: A light dashing into a glass window should break the window. Carrying a throwable and running at a window should also break glass windows automatically.

Animations: I would love to see slight tweaks to how heavy, medium, and lights move around in the arena, this would no doubt be additional work but I think slightly different running, mantling, throwing, and jumping animations would give a little more flavor and personality to these classes. I also think their melee should be slightly different. Also, melee should change based on weapon equipped, like why am I elbowing a dude if I’m literally holding a throwing knife? Let mediums pistol whip someone if they are holding the revolver, let mediums smash glass with their assault rifles and let heavies carrying heavy guns front kick people.

Animations: Either in the overall level, or in the unlock progression for weapons I would love to see level progression represented by unlocking more proficient looking animations. Give us a feeling of progression by having our V9S reload look like someones first time at the range until we unlock the red skin for it, at which point that animation looks like someone who competitively shoots and then the later skin with animations where we are are doing one hand chamber checks john wick style. If I have nothing unlocked for the AKM I want the panic of reloading like a Somali pirate under pressure. Note: I’m not proposing changing the reload time, just animations that take place in that time. We already have some of this, but would love more.

🤠 can I be so wild to request that the revolver is shot single handedly? It's a game show after all, and there's little more showy than single handed rooty-tooty action! ( and yes, your AMAZING animation team will have to suffer for it.... I' m sorry) In fact, you could add an entire "holding" option for your animations, which would open the door to more store options about animations! (which is really the biggest reason why I popped open the finals in the first place!)

Kyoto is a beautiful map, but... it's just not really that fun to play on. The bamboo forest is a pain to fight through, and the buildings fall apart way too easily. The rubble that's left behind is super annoying. Not to mention the fact that the sightlines for lights using long-range weapons are oppressive.

I don't know how to go about fixing it, but it's definitely my least favorite map to play on in the current selection.

HOW TO FIX CASHOUT

  • When you wipe an enemy team, you gain 30 percent of their lost money, there is possibility that this makes it too good to hunt people down instead of playing the objective, because of this you can either go two ways, when a team gets wiped, they drop COINS like bank it., picking up these tokens gives you money **OR ** you only gain 15 % of their money.

The purpose of this addition is to coinside with the next change, i think holding objective may be TOO OP, there may be certain scenarios where holding a cashout makes it impossible for one team to win. Overall this is only an addition if the next change comes in.

  • When holding cashout, @ 25 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ 75 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ Cashout Completion gain $5k, 3 Split rewards for one cashout. (overwatch capture point basically)
  • Spawns should be fixed, 3 v 3 at first vault, both teams should spawn at an equal distance to the vault, nobody should spawn with a Tempo Advantage
  • Charge N' Slam nerf
  • Higher cash reward for kills
  • No premade teammates in Diamond 2+ Emerald 2+, ladder rank should be based on individual skill rather than who stacks/plays more
  • Only One 22k vault should spawn, at this stage of the game, 1st place should be decided

I think to correct current TA state you should remove the cloak and the sonar nade it gave too much to light.
Also a cool things would be to nerf thz LH1 which completely broke the game. Finally you have to fix the way you heal. I the light heal 66% of their hp and the heavy 33%. You cant do the same things with 100 hp as a light and has a heavy.

I agree, and it's a shame. Despite myself, I quite enjoyed Terminal Attack last season, but it's nothing short of a slog this time around. Best of 13, with 20 seconds for the defenders is just boring and way too long.

As for Kyoto, I'm really not feeling it. It's not a bad map by any means, but decidedly mid imo. Although, in fairness, I never liked Las Vegas much but I've warmed to it.

Loving World Tour, and the battle pass has some great stuff in it. Any possibility of having a few season 1 things in the store at some point?

The soundtrack is pretty good, but I do wish that the little motif (the tune that plays when you spawn in to the practice range) would be re-imagined for each season. It's the music I hear in my head when I think 'The Finals'!

Introducing a hard CC tool like Winch Claw is already highly risky, doing so without totally flattening multiple of the consistent bugs is suicidal.

It hooks players through obstacles and bullshit angles like Roadhog 1.0, which is cancer for those on the receiving end.

In your attempt to NERF heavy ranged to force them to play the trash new melee weapon/ melee in general, combined with your "Buff" to lights, the game is now unplayable lol.

The entire META is Light with an LH1 and Sonar. I can't tell you a more cancer sound then 3 to 5 light all shooting LH1 while you have like 15 sonar grenades pinging you.

In what world did the LH1 even need a buff? It was already in a decent spot, whos idea was this?

All you see in ranked TA is LH1 light, sonar grenade, and thermal vision, and now thats even splashing over into World Tour. I can't tell you how many triple stack light teams running lh1 I've seen now.

I have zero counterplay on maps like Kyoto where Im just forced to take the beating, and if I try to rat in a building I just have 15 sonars on me.

The game legit feels like if your not running LH1 light, your literally griefing your team.

    another reason for the nerf is so the bow can actually be use, as currently throwing knife outperforms in any situation compare to bow, while bow actually isnt underpower, its decent and fun, has advantages and weaknesses compare to other weapons.

    its so weird to have a melee weapon in a class that has no dash skill/specialization class, same logic as that u dont see H with a hammer using Mesh shield. it will fit and be really good weapon for L, but i dont think u will do that anyway, so buff it good so dual blade players dont look like a dummy.

    honestly its bit weird to see claw in this game even tho its in H's hand, do some adjustment maybe, i will rather see the Spear as a throwable weapon or whatever and delete the claw but i dont think u will do that.

    barely see anyone using the c4 as H anymore, make some changes to increase the use rates, and differentiate that with L's c4 (altho i really dont get it why u give c4 to both classes, to me, its either L or H, and just add a new equipment to replace it for the class will be perfect).
  • rework the look of Spear
    the blade part on it is so short... does fit for the left-click normal attack animation, but doesnt really look like it should swings like a Black Myth Wukong, extent the blade to 1/3 of the whole length might do the job.

Dual blades are a pathetic addition when every single class in the game is able to just run away from them, and any reasonably intelligent teams will kill you with chip damage even if you deflect. It has no forward mobility when attacking, aside from a pathetic lunge that rarely seems to proc for me.

played like 20 TA's on ranked, people keep disconnecting, all the games I played the game either ended up 3v5 or 4v3, cashout was way more rewarding and entertaining, I don't really feel like touching TA until the end of the season, coming from someone that really enjoyed playing ranked, plat s1, diamond s2

being stuck on the load screen , crashing and having missed half the cashout round is not very fun , not fair to me or my tm8, and worse is if they somehow win and I can't reconnect to them because I took too long to come back , or rather , it took the game forever to open up
Getting a matchmaking suspension is also pretty unfair if leaving the match (the crash) is not my fault either
Please , at least if the crash isn't fixable , it'll be very appreciated if the suspension system and the reconnecting system changes :))

Please try to keep in mind the changes themselves rather than the values and variables. I.E Rather than focus on the ammo count I gave for example, focus on the reload change itself. These values can be changed for further balance.

HOW TO FIX CASHOUT

  • When you wipe an enemy team, you gain 30 percent of their lost money, there is possibility that this makes it too good to hunt people down instead of playing the objective, **OR ** you only gain 15 % of their money.

The purpose of this addition is to coinside with the next change, i think holding objective may be TOO OP, there may be certain scenarios where holding a cashout makes it impossible for one team to win. Overall this is only an addition if the next change comes in.

  • When holding cashout, @ 25 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ 75 % Completion gain $2.5k, @ Cashout Completion gain $5k, 3 Split rewards for one cashout. (overwatch capture point basically)
  • Spawns should be fixed, 3 v 3 at first vault, both teams should spawn at an equal distance to the vault, nobody should spawn with a Tempo Advantage
  • Charge N' Slam nerf
  • Higher cash reward for kills
  • No premade teammates in Diamond 2+ Emerald 2+, ladder rank should be based on individual skill rather than who stacks/plays more
  • Only One 22k vault should spawn, at this stage of the game, 1st place should be decided
  • Give the RPG 2 charges, but hard nerf it's damage to players and maybe increase it's arena damage. The winch claw was a good step in solidifying the Heavy's Identity. Which is a defend, crowd control, cashout control, arena destruction.

Embark, while I can understand your decision to put TA as ranked for the season or so... I and many others disagree with it, it can be understood in some capacity

However, the fact that you are forcing new players to play 5 rounds of TA before they can play anything else is completely spitting in the face of the finals and what it stands for. I know if I was given this requirement I would try it out play a few rounds say this isn’t for me and never play the finals ever again. The finals never would’ve gotten all the time money and passion I’ve put into it in such a short time and I have a fear that will be the case for many others.

I agree players should have to play at least 5 rounds of TA before joining ranked but they SHOULD NOT under any circumstance have to play 5 rounds of TA before they play anything!

You stated cashout is the heart of the finals and you don’t want to ever take that away, ect. Ect. Making new players play 5 rounds of TA is a complete contradiction of that. Everyone here wants to see the finals succeed, this change can only kill players rather than gain them.

I hope you understand, it’s very frustrating to think about all the players you could be loosing because of this decision.

Please make it so that the games you lose against cheaters that were banned are reverted. Losing so many RS for a match you can't do anything against... Even if those cheaters get banned you lose points and the team they played with gain points. Kinda also allows cheaters to boost people, make new free accounts and continue to boost...

they should make it so that if you play against a cheater in ranked, and then they end up getting banned, you should be granted back the elo that you lost/gained in that match against the cheater, it's absurd that I played against a cheater and lost 1,456. They ended up getting banned but I still lost my RS, like why. It was an unfair match.

TA is no fun to play with only 100HP regen. Too many weapons become one shot kills. 150HP would make it much more viable.

the penalties for losing a ranked match that had two or three teammates quit after the first 4 rounds are way too harsh. i shouldn’t receive the same negative RS i would have with a full team. makes this game near impossible to solo queue successfully most of the time.

You should revert the TA 5 match requirements for new players before Twitch Rivals. Or you’ll probably lose most of your players hopping on for the first time after falling in love with the chaos shown on the streams.
I know you think it might be easier for players to understand but one life does not make it easier for players to learn the mechanics and engine.

just wanted to write a message for any devs reading this chat, this game is an absolute hit, you guys at the game studios developing this game are doing an amazing job at what you can do for the community. i havent played a game like this in so long with such a unique concept with amazing physics, awesome looking skins, and actually listening to your playerbase on what they enjoy/dont enjoy. obviously there are things that not everybody will be happy with. Please cancel World Tour and ranked cashout matches if someone leaves early in the first round. I am so, so, so, so tired of being put into games where the teammates I am given either do not show up or ragequit instantly after their first death or lost cashout. And please do not penalize me for leaving if I am missing teammates. It's stupid that I get punished over and over again for something that is not my fault and I'm force to play a match that isn't any fun because otherwise I'll get banned. It's always a lose/lose situation, nearly EVERY game this entire season has been like this. It's unbearable.

You need to revert the changes to Lewis gun recoil to season 2 recoil. That was already punishing and not easy to master, lower the damage to 23 from 25. 22 is just too low for it, paired with recoil.

Revert all changes to m60 to season 2. It didn't need a nerf, it was already in a good place and wasn't a viable long range weapon because of its damage fall off.

Nerf lh1 into the ground, actually remove it from the game. Only 4 days in and for as much as people complained heavy was "overpowered", you haven't experienced true grief until you have 3 LH1s headshot glitching fron a roof, firing at you with sonar's pingging you're location.

Its so bad I don't even wanna play anymore.

You need to give medium something for Terminal Attack. Having two specializations and zero access to any of its support utility makes it worthless when lh1 light exists. give them single use defib or something.

you guys really need to sort out the network interpolation and prediction because its fucking ass. I literally just had a case where I saw a light dash in front of me, so I stepped back and he ended up behind me and body blocked me and killed me while I was looking in the direction I saw him dash in. that and getting killed by snipers a fraction of a second before you see the glint, and dying behind walls is getting really fucking old.

@worldly scaffold yeah as an LH1 main, it feels terrible to use now even though it's much easier to use, and I don't want to use it anymore because it used to actually take skill. It didn't need any changes, but I'll take the damage increase lol
