Sorry peeps if this is not the appropriate way, first time here and still new to discord despite having it for years.

Quick suggestion: post finishing a game I think it would be rewarding for players to be able to vote for their own teammates and maybe even opposition on how well they’ve performed across multiple categories, similarly to how overwatch does with their voting cards and at the same time you can reward the players with a badge or some sort of ranking with points to indicate how good they are according to other players in that said category, consider it as a badge of honour.

E.g. Vote for the following categories:

  • MVP
  • Top Support
  • Top tank
  • top offense
  • Best at object focus
  • Best environment user

Etc.

Right now, it’s just a screen that you look and you just go ā€œoh cool, look at my statsā€ and that’s it really.

It would be nice to get recognised for different things each player does in a game than just 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Lastly, why is the scoreboard replicated twice but with a different design? You literally have the same information presented twice post finishing a match or have I missed something?

Honestly invis is not the problem, stun was always the problem IMO. Why they nerfed invis makes no sense.

The things they should be concentrating on overall IMO are as follows:

Lights

  • buff grapple regen slightly (I'm a grapple main)
  • buff snipers damage slightly so I can 1 shot HS Mediums (hate camping snipers but I'm a in your face sniper)
  • remove charge from sword & slow swing times (dash Sword users who can hit me 3 times when I can barely shoot 1 sniper shot makes no sense at all)
  • improve identifying backstabs with dagger as sometimes it doesn't count as one
  • nerf stun (or remove it)

Medium

  • nerf FCAR
  • nerf APS (or remove it)
  • nerf turrets (or remove it)
  • add longer cooldown to demat so they can't constantly drop the cashout
  • healing overheats slightly faster (so teams of 3 healers can't constantly heal)

Heavy

  • buff barricade so it can actually block flamethrowers for example
  • buff AntiGrav so it has more health and you can control yourself more effectively in it
  • nerf swing radius of hammer or make it slightly slower
  • nerf flamethrower damage & afterburn damage
  • nerf OG shotty further

Ranked

  • give us the lowdown on how positive bars and negatives bars work cuz ATM there's no consistency
  • I have no problem with cheaters in my games on PS5 but of course add anti-cheat to help PC out
  • improve reconnect feature to install rejoin
  • when teammates quit/disconnect, add loss protection so we don't get minus FP or bars
  • improve loading times to begin a match and in between rounds
  • should show both their id and embark name in recent players so I can find and report people properly
  • there's also a bug where the cash box get sticks under the map after you drop it during a fight..

General

  • add more customisation to our avatars so we can put ink on both arms for example

Rework it so it is more viable with melee weapons, and less viable with ranged weapons. When you play cloak with melee, it requires a lot more skill than compared with ranged weapons because of how close you have to position yourself.

The spawns are actually fucked, people are constantly spawning into 2 teams fighting at a cash out and we are getting third party, people need to study embark at killing an FPS game omg royal Fumble. Who asked you guys to mess w spawns 3rd team is now constantly spawning on an active shoot out cash out. refusal to nerf fcar in a meaningful way, the nerfs to light, the matchmaking still not being fixed, the huge cheater problem that has been ignored, the devs not listening to good community ideas and feedback, them catering more to the casual gamers that havent been here long and wont stay long is crushing to the health of the game. Devs keep changing things no one wanted changed and doesnt change what everyone wants fixed. I love this game but all the balancing has only made the game worse. I dont want to play this game anymore.
I've been hoping that the next patch will be a good one and fix something meaningfully but that patch just never comes.

I wanted to ask about the heal gun glitch, where you can’t use it for the entirety of a game. Does anyone else have this problem, and why haven’t I seen any videos about this? It’s killed multiple games for me and my friends, so I tried looking online as to why, and if there’s a way to get through it, but I don’t see a thing about it on YouTube. Yesterday it happened 3x to my friend trying to complete the heal challenge on pro circuit, and a few days prior I got it 5x in a row.

Update is going to be shit because it follows the same trend as most of the bad updates. That trend is, constantly adjusting the game so that medium increasingly stands out as the best class.

Mesh nerf... fine ig. Stun gun, maybe deserves some negative attention but you didn't even do that yet. Instead you nerf cloak when I'm pretty sure the only people who don't know how to detect it are brand new to the game or listening to music while they play.

Meanwhile, medium gets love and no negative attention whatsoever. Meta is all about defibs, heals and sheilds and you nerf light and even let us know more nerfs are coming in a week...

If you make cloak more visible next week, light goes straight back in the bin it was barely crawling out of this season. It will literally make you more detectable than not being invisible because of the extra noise it adds.

More of a quality of life thing, but I think that the ability to turn off the "auto-tracking" for melee weapons should be an option; sometimes, when I am trying to attack on enemy, it locks onto another enemy nearby, often making me spin around and miss my hit.

feature request: save our game report history, similar to overwatch. let us look back at our last few games (or all of them, why not? it's nothing but text being stored). show the date and time and the full stats from the match. maybe even let us drill down into deeper details and see things like how many kills/deaths we had against each enemy.

i don't see how anyone could say the game performs terribly. holding 120+ fps steady, completely maxed at 3440x1440. granted, 14900k + 4080 super, but still. 3440x1440.

It can be pretty annoying when a heavy cheeses survival with the mesh shield

But nerfing its hp was not the right thing imo
They can still cheese, just less
Meanwhile it punishes those actually trying to protect the team

I would revert its max hp, but make it deploy at ~20-30% of its max hp

If they try to deploy it in the middle of a fight it will easily go down

Meanwhile those using it to help the team get their max hp back, they just have to let it "regenerate" before engaging in a team fight, introducing a little bit of skill with timing it
(Maybe increase regen a bit, with a longer delay after being shot at, to make that last part easier?)

I swear you guys at embark are insanely good at patching your own game into its death. Since the launch you've mostly just nerfed shit at every corner, doing what the few loud wining kids in discord cry for. Light is going to be weak as fuck again. You have taken out most unique and fun aspects of the game simply through nerfing them away.

All while the game is filled with cheaters and losing players left and right. And with every single one of those patches player count dropped, as if you are not learning from it.

The game was performing ~ 30% better at launch in terms of CPU usage, was less cheater infested and decently balanced. Every class used to have something extremely strong. Now it just became a never ending cycle of nerfs after nerfs.

Player count as low as Amazon's total fuckup new world speaks a lot. Focus on the important aspects or the game is dead in less than a year, which would be really sad to see

What your describing sounds like something that should be given to dash after each dash.

@dull elm no, give dash the speed boost, not invis too, just leave invis alone, if you're going to make invis visible to the point where it makes no difference to use, why would anyone ever take it? it's meant to allow you to be stealthy and position well, but the reason it needs to be changed is because how aggressively it can be used. Invis should be more defensive where dash should be more offensive, and grapple should be a middle ground of being defensive and offensive.

None of these look like cheating lmao. You don't even show the player after. Only way to consistently tell if people are cheating is if they start snapping, spinning, or hs from across the map. Other times, more than likely, it boils down to a skull issue.

resisting the urge to complain and deciding to be almost purely constructive! All I’m gonna say is I hope we return to focusing on real sandbox changes and don’t linger on making cloak and mesh less usable(which is the only balance changes they have ever gone through instead of actual alterations to how other things interact with them or even just making cloaked players more damn visible when moving). Here are some proposed sandboxy changes:
Riot shield as a surface for gadgets, swapping off the shield destroys them.
Charge and Slam gains damage and piercing ability from height. Higher fall = more surfaces you can slam through without stopping, more final damage.
Allow explosive canisters to carry weight like early season 1 and not spin out immediately. Along with this change, reduce the damage done by attached explosive gadgets. Since it’s clear we can detect when a gadget is attached to an explosive (seen with the changes to trajectory of explosive canisters and the charge time of C4 when attached to any carriables), this is the best option to keep a great functionality while not allowing it to dominate due to sheer lethality (what c4 should have gotten in the first place)
Allow grapple hook to be used on players. Lights are pulled to the user, mediums are kept stationary, heavies work as typical surfaces. for lights and mediums however, the effect lasts a very short time—1 to 3 seconds at most.

Why when you buy a pass, when it runs out, you can't get the clothes that you expected to get from it, okay, if it was free, but why when I paid for it, I lose the opportunity to get the purchased content is nonsense.

With ranked games, the funny thing is that when you win a tournament you get 3 arrows in the silver 2 rank, then my friends and I immediately took and won a new tournament and got only a promotion to silver 1 without arrows, which is very strange. Then we won in 3 rounds and were eliminated, again we got 3 arrows, somehow it is not equivalent for the wins.

And benches with shadow maps when you look from a light building to a dark street and you can't see a damn thing even with a brightness of 100. And running along the night streets is very dark and it sucks to see dark characters.

Lemme put this into prospective for embark:
If a light and a medium stand facing eachother (in a private match for testing purposes) at a close range. Both ADS and aim at chest for one test, and head for another test. Let’s use M11 and AK for example. The medium will kill the light first both times before the light even does half their health (more if headshots, but still not enough). So light guns just don’t compare in damage, making them immediately the worst class as they can’t kill fast enough for having an overwhelmingly lower health pool. (Yes there’s specializations, etc) but you (Embark) decides to nurf the most used ability by lights as the other 2 options don’t have any play in high elo (plat+ with all the hackers that are ignored and not fixed). So I ask why nurf cloak when it’s primarily used by casuals in CASUAL game modes, not competitive by a overwhelming %, light does not need nurfs, it needs balancing of guns, I’m not for 100% buffing light either, I think stun gun should just be removed or reduce the distance of use to 5m or less. As well as nurfing gateway. The REAL issues making lights feel unstoppable, not a cloak nurf? Balancing is so lackluster from Embark currently. I hope at some point yall release graphs and stats about what’s being used in each game mode (for example how Ironmace used to release pages and pages of stats to the public so we could ALL work together to balance the game). Hopefully that all made sense lol

Still getting beamed as a light especially in diamond ranked. The invis the nerf literally did nothing but make it less fun to play with & especially in diamond lobbies don’t even get me started this update makes no sense and 10x less fun as it used to be jus went against a heavy 3 stack I’m actually done with this game. Yes let’s nerf the worst class in the game while everything like heal beam dome shieldxMesh shield for a heavy with 350 health still dominates. Absolutes makes no sense too many good shooters out there for me to stay with this. Still don’t even have haptic/adaptive trigger support for ps5 or 120hz support for ps or Xbox which is crazy seeing how big of a player base console has with this game. I’ll be back next season maybe but nah without haptics and light being dead there’s no reason to play this game getting melted by other classes.

Just make the stun gun a hold-release mechanic. Hold the trigger for 1 second then release so people can't just flick shot emergency stuns. Like the plasma pistol in Halo

Gives Lights a skill-cap using it and other classes a chance to respond faster.

I’m just here to give my feedback about the recent light invis changes. Perspective from a med/light main (I like to go fast ok it’s more fun than -movement speed on heavy) I actually really like how we can’t spam the invis during combat. However the unforgiving news and possibly even further invis changes down the line (suspected to be visible when standing still) I feel like a lot of other classes have far better abilities now such as goo gun, mediums ability to phase through walls at will, and some other while light now only has dash which can be difficult for casual players to use.

Buffs I thought would make it a bit more fair. The gauge now decreases at a slightly lowers rate giving some more freedom to people using the specialized ability. Or to increase the gauge from the current 12 second to something like 15 second or something.
Also please for the love of god don’t need invis then next patch nerf the shit out of stun gun with no give back

Light was the least buffed class of contestants and is the one class that gets needlessly debuffed: glitch nades, stun gun, cloak. debuffing cloak is fair enough, but glitch nades should disable aps, stun gun should deal damage. no less.

It baffles me how much the Medium and Heavy mains whine about light when its the weakest class in the game. Stun gun does NOT need a nerf, half of the time when you stun a Medium or Heavy your just gonna lose the fight cause Hipfire is crazy accurate in this game. IMO Invis usage wasn't a problem it just needed its visibility fixed. Yes Im a light main and I have like 300 hours in Light and I can tell you now Invis and Stun is not as broken as they make it sound. I just really think they need to bring lights health up to 200 and heavy down to 300. This would still allow heavys to do 90% of lights health relatively quickly, just makes it so heavys dont have DOUBLE the lights health.

Thank you for the light changes! Now cloak won’t be as much of a crutch for the skill-less. Players who can’t do well as a light without cloak were crutching and that’s why they’re the only ones mad.

I’m only gonna say stun gun has been fine and is only exacerbated by the communication problems in most casual games where you’re met by dead silence, left behind by your team and subsequently blindsided and assassinated. In any game with real team coordination the efficacy of stun gun goes down a lot because it’s not a free pick anymore.
I think the game would be better off in the immediate future with more sandbox changes to deal with some problems and not just making mesh shield and invis usable less often.

As long as standing still makes you completely silent and invisible, an easy change to cloaking device that has been pitched probably many times now is simply making the user more visible when moving (than they currently are), which has always been the main component when it comes to losing light players. Not seeing it coming is mainly just due to audio issues, most of the time I don’t hear a cloaked player nearby it’s because basically any other noise came up and completely drowned it out. also, counters do exist. For all the complaining about invis stun I’ve seen exactly 1 heavy using motion sensor since the start of season 2. Not many lights run sonar grenade or tracking dart either.
For mesh shield, **projectiles going through the shield completely (as in passing through the mesh like it was air) **would be an easy and strong change that keeps glitch nades the premier option but prevents other team compositions with different loadouts not always needing to empty their magazines or really just give up if using not-bullet type weapons. The meta setups have never cared about mesh shield nearly as much as all offmeta has, and these changes realistically still don’t do much for them on that front—not nearly as much as for the options already strong against mesh

I joined this discord and waited out the chat timer just to say this. This game is very quickly becoming unplayable. I average 170-200mb/s. Every. Single. Game is unplayable. This game ran absolutely fine at launch. Low ping and zero packet loss, but whatever they're doing with the servers or the optimization breaks the game more and more beyond repair. For reference, I am in North America and those are the servers I play on. I haven't run into a single game in the past 2 weeks that hasn't included ridiculous ping/packet loss, and my connection speeds have tested out fine. Every other game is fine. The fact the devs keep adding pointless mechanics/cosmetics/gamemodes, which no one is going to buy or play anyways, with careless disregard to the actual ingame performance. I love this game and still find myself playing constantly despite these issues, but if something is not done to address this god awful performance, I will have to stop playing entirely. This is absolutley tragic and I hope for just once the devs will fix something that actually needs to be fixed. Optimize. Your. Game. It is virtually unplayable.

Both are anti-fun and cheap yet the only means of being viable. With these out o the way the devs can actually buff apects of lights that are fun such as dash, grapple, meleee weapons etc..

Personnaly I find the nerfs good as it was to cheap to suprise somebody who doesnt use cloack (half the time you dont hear or see a invis because other noises or shooting and he pops up in front of u frying you... It was way to strong. (believe me I played nothing else before then light invis and stun xD. I just think the devs need to buff light class health that would change a lot (so they have more survivability.

What about QUICK STEAL specialization for light? Cloak esp. +stungun annoys people (as light main I agree its a bit cheesy), so why not replace it entirely with smth cool and useful for the team, that makes light more valuable for ranked? Steal was 6 seconds, so make it 3-4 with this. It compensates lights small health pool while stealing, makes for more team utility and cloak doesnt have to be annoying or nerfed until unusable. Kinda like with recon senses, that woked pretty good imho. Dematerializer isn“t even weaker, but way less gamebreaking and annoying...

The cost of invisibility being 30 percent will remove some ways it could've been used , basically you're better off not using invis if it's lower than 50 percent , because even at 50 after activation it'll go to 20 which ends very quickly , basically it's best to just use it when it's full or it's rather above 70%, only in certain (less) situations now it may be useful when below 60,
Maybe the activation cost going to a number like 20 or even 22-23 would be better than 30

I think reactive skins would be cool. Guns that change and animate with your kill count and other stuff like a defibrillator that reacts to how many revives you have.

Also maybe a healing grenade? Like the invisibility grenade but anyone in it gets healed like 100 hp. idk how this would affect the balance of the game but its a cool idea.

As a medium main I can say that recent update to light was unnecessary, it can be anoying - YES! but I think it did synergize well with other classes, sometimes changing the outcomes of teamfights by using skill. Cloak and stungun are powerful tools in a right hands, please devs reconsider your decision( I think 20% reduction would be fair for cloak users, not 33%), I also felt like the game had rock-paper-scissors felling with all classes balance at 2.3.0 patch, since then spawns were altered in a bad way(constant 3rd party) and unnecessary nerfs were in place, hope some of the devs reads this šŸ™‚

Unpopular opinion: They're doing too much to make the light easier to handle, it doesn't sound effective in gameplay anymore, not many used it in high ranked games due to how easy it is to kill but Embark is just making it worse slowly and slowly.

Also, nerfing the heavies mesh shield was unnecessary as now I cant cover my teammates effectively anymore seeing as it drains faster than before.

HEAR ME OUT: the barricade from heavy should have 3 DIFFERENT OPTIONS that you can change with right click. NUMBER 1: a wider barricade with more plates that extend to the side. NUMBER 2: a higher barricade that has a roof on top so you can use it to protect yourself from damage that comes from above or climb it to reach previous unreachable heights. NUMBER 3: a thicker barricade that's short and slim but has bigger health.

Reduce Ranked to 3 rounds. This will make matchmaking far quicker and hopefully better match players. Plus shorter games will be nice.

Consider some form of role locking, the easiest suggestion would be forcing HML and maybe add a role queue similar to Overwatch for soloQ players.

I would much rather we allow duplicate classes but lock weapons, gadgets and specs. You can have two heavies, but only one can run SA12, Mesh, RPG etc and the other will have to use the other options. This will force more variety and could better showcase what weapons or gadgets need to get a buff to compete in the meta. This will suck for SoloQ players though, that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I think a lot of people get mad about mesh shield and stuff like that because you can stack them. One mesh shield is easy to deal with, two? Same with healing gun, defib, stun gun etc. Most of this is usually fine on it's own but as soon as there's two or even three, it gets annoying to deal with.

I've read people all day long saying Lights could only hold their own with CD/stun gun. It's only an honest statement if you think it was BS that the class had to depend on such a cheesy/annoying gimmick to be relevant. In which case, I agree. Otherwise, you're just whining because the stupid gimmick that made you think you were good got nerfed.

Personally, I like the idea that Lights could have quicker health regen, and/or revive team mates faster, and/or capture cashouts faster than M/H, to make up for the nerfs.

These could give Lights a more defined, teamplay oriented role, by steering it away from the solo hunter/flanker/sniper role. And it would remain balanced by the fact that they can die so quickly. So they could only make efficient use of their speed if supported/protected by the team.

invis is not difficult to detect, you can hear it and see it within 15 meters, the nerf to cloak was a brain dead change by the devs to get the casuals to stop crying for it to be nerfed. stun needs the nerf, it is stupid strong in the lower ranks. Here's the problem with how the balancing has been lately. It's just a bunch of nerfs to things I've only heard people complain about because they can't cope with using a glitch grenade or whatnot. The stun gun was the only nerf that I thought was fine. The mesh shield nerf is dumb but I'm not gonna really complain.

But Lights have just been punished over and over because other players complained about the few things Light has that they use the most. Why? Because a good chunk of the Light arsenal sucks. Throwing knives, dagger, sniper, LH1, SH1900, their overall health pool and regeneration speed; those are things that I think need to be buffed first. Because now if these things are buffed, Light players now have more weapons and gadgets they want to use instead of just using stun gun, MP5/M11, invis. But all Embark had done recently is just nerf Light nerf Heavy nerf Light nerf Heavy, and now people don't want to play these classes, and probably the game, anymore.

I'm seriously hoping Embark gives Light several buffs this next patch to compensate for the "up yours" attitude Light players have been receiving.

All of the steps Embark are taking for balancing are going in the right direction. I see the vision y’all have for the future of the game. The only issues I have are on console side.

First, PC can use controller but console can’t use keyboard and mouse. This might because of all the players using keyboard and mouse who had aim assist, but still would be beneficial to allow it.

Second, similar to having reload and pickup the same button, equipping your weapon and picking up heavy’s barricade should have a prioritize option as well. I can’t even begin to count how many times I’ve put down a barricade and couldn’t shoot at the enemy player right in front of me just because I had to look away from my barricade to pull out my weapon. It’s obviously not the end of the world when this happens, but does get annoying after awhile.

Finally, only one kind of specialization should be allow on a team. You shouldn’t have 2 mediums pocketing a heavy with healing beam, or 2 heavies holding mesh shields. You could say using glitch grenades would solve the problem, but as soon as those 5 seconds are up they go right back to it. They’re called ā€œspecializationā€ after all, so only one person should specialize in something. This would give more team diversity, and make players fulfill their role in the team comp.

this game is supposed to be entertaining and fun, and if people stop finding the game entertaining and fun then I think everyone is free to play the games they want and to not play the games they don't, but a lot of people have a really apocalyptic vision on the future of the game, yes they haven't been doing the best of calls when it comes to balancing and yes the situation is rough, but they have also done a really good job until this day, the game with all its flaws is a really good game, after all this time I think it keeps being my favorite shooter and I have a blast when I play, it would make me really sad to see it disappear and I don't really think that's going to happen, the game in its current state its pretty fun but I think the player base is kinda bored of the same meta, also people just think they have the answer to all the finals problems, and when the nerf or buff they want doesn't come in the next patch they get frustrated and leave, Embark has to deal with a lot of crap the community gives to them on a daily basis, bunch of hate and destructive criticism instead of well thought suggestions or critics, they are no perfect but they still try they're best, so I just hope they keep doing the best they can to keep this game I love alive and fun.

Super disappointing how it feels like almost every patch gives me and everyone else more reasons to only play medium. NGL teams stacked with healing beam and defibs are the least fun to fight right now.. Patches like the one from this week drive more people to medium and increase the relevance of that meta even if you didn't directly buff those medium abilities.

The materialization change seemed good at first but it did nothing to stop mediums from running in like an NPC and doing the defib at the cost of their own life. Its all about hoping the revived guy catches the killer on reload and then recovers your whole team.

Shields and heals are the META... Couple weeks back, halving the effect time of glitch was a bad move. Now cloak is being nerfed this week and next week? Alright, but why? Id literally rather that light player use invis then become another defib spamming medium.

If youre not going to revert the nerf on cloak. You need to buff light burst DPS even more to compete with with the other two classes. Buffing cloak is the best course of action though. I kinda liked the way it was before. Lights couldnt beat fcars in 1v1 fights but if they were good and used cloak and stun gun to their advantage they could fight back

Two Light nerfs and everybody wants to quit. I think it says a lot about how y'all were playing so far. Light main, solo Q, no team play, and overusing the same gimmick again and again for KDR.

I play all three classes, reading that Light can't do shit without CD/stun gun is laughable (I never used either). Reading that Heavy is OP is laughable as well... If you think so, you've never played that class.

Lights need buffs, YES. To make them useful to the team. Right now they're not relevant enough in the context of a 3 player team, compared to H or M, to pick L over either.

People complain that Lights have no room in ranked. Well I think we should then try fixed LMH teams for ranked. Make it a temporary event and see how that goes. I think April Fool's PS with limited kits was more enjoyable than regular PS. Such experiments with restrictions are useful to find the right path for future patches.

If this change is going to stay in the game, u need to remove deactivation of cloak when taking damage but I would prefer it just gets reverted. Cloaking is already too easy to see/hear for majority of players and I have been killed instantly multiple times within 0.5s even if I was standing still and someone walks into the room. This increased activation cost of cloaking device isn’t the play. Lights already have an abysmal health pool, no reason to take away the utilities that help the class survive.

Having tried it out tonight, I was running out of stealth way too quickly and it just doesn’t charge itself up fast enough to warrant such a nerf. If you want to nerf cloak just buff it’s counters instead like thermal vision and glitch items.

Ignoring issues like the barricade headglitching, mediums in general being too strong, especially when paired with Heavies.
Nerfing everything is not the way to go, nobody likes that. (although nerfs on the nuke were necessary)

Everyone agreed invis and Stun-gun were ANNOYING, but they were some of the only parts that makes light BARELY playable in ranked vs semi-decent players and above.

Do consider reverting the cloak changes / reduce the activation cost, or give the light some serious buffs to make it more viable in teamplay / "competative" play.

I don't main light but I throw them all the time when I do play light. But You missed the point that patches like this make less people play light, meaning less glitch grenades are going around in general.

Also like I said in the message you replied to, the glitch effect from all sources got nerfed a couple weeks ago. 5s from 10s is a huge nerf and really narrows that window to finish off all the mediums before the defib chain starts..

Why hasn't there been a system implemented for ranked where if you have an AFK player or a player that left the ranked match on your team have penalties forgiven if you stayed in lobby? Why should we be punished for someone elses actions?

Rainbow Six siege even has a system where penalties are forgiven in ranked play due to a teammate teamkilling or an AFK player getting kicked out. Why does it require a entire two seasons to understand that penalties should not be issued to those who have to sit there and suffer the consequences of someone else AFKing in a match?

If someone else leaves the game, it detriments the entire team, and they can't compete against four teams of 3. You can try as hard as you want, in the end you'll get outmatched just because of the fact you are outnumbered in every engagement. You are forced to throw the match and hand off a free win to the opponents because of the fact you had one teammate get kicked due to AFK or the fact they left on their own accord.

Its gross that the game has gone on this long and hasn't properly implemented the penalty system properly and the change needs to be looked at with a magnifying glass.
Like I said, we shouldn't have to suffer a loss or a penalty due to another teammates willing actions to AFK or leave a ranked match.

Light really need buffs. I have mained light for about 100 or so hours and I really think something as simple as a buff to the health would be great the fact that you die so quickly as light is very annoying and it's very hard to actually put up a fight to even a medium with half decent aim. I do know people find invis and stun gun annoying but light players basically have to use invis and stun gun to actually stay alive. My point is light is slowly becoming more and more unplayable as people improve at the game and light cannot keep up with people's skill rising and therefore needs buffs.

I was going to same the same, if I had to give one advice to embark is that they start to buff things asap, if they keep nerfing fun things people that use those things are going to be frustrated and they are just going to leave, but if they start buffing weak weapons the community will have a breath of fresh air using different weapons than they usually play, that would also change the meta with out making fun weapons boring or weak, nerfing things some times is necessary but nerfing everything that is strong instead of giving players powerfull alternatives can leave weak guns forgotten and strong weapons with out what make them fun to use, more important that nerfing or buffing is important to find a balance and I think we already hit the ground of nerfing is time to buff things.

My thoughts exactly. I played H the most in S1, running M60/RPG/C4/Dome and using the kit to its full extent. I understood 200% why devs nerfed the hell out of nukes because I pulled out some BS moves using them. Like full team wipes in a matter of seconds because I got a double kill with a nuke and laser'ed the third guy out of existence with RPG + M60. Fun for me, but unfair for others. I also understood why the RPG got nerfed a lot, despite abusing it sometimes, because it was too much of an instant "I win button" (esp. against L), just like CD/stun gun can be in some scenarios. Once again, fun for me, but definitely unfair for others. I understood the mesh shield HP reduction, because it was too much of an impenetrable wall, too easy to spam and just sit behind forever, despite all the enemy efforts to bring it down. I didn't even mind the dome shield nerf, because I always saw that gadget as an emergency/bonus protection. There's always room to use it, either throwing it at your feet when you're in a bad spot, throwing it at low team mate, using it while reviving or capturing a cashout... It's meant to be a fragile extra cover, and can carry you or your team in a fight at times. To be fair the only nerf I did not agree with was on the C4, because aside from nukes, I don't feel like it was OP/annoying.

TL;DR: it's OK to main one class and not the others, but you have to reckon when something that class has isn't fair, and accept it when devs nerf it accordingly.

Most of the posts I read here are people being crybabies because the devs dared touching their precious stuff (while it could very well be reverted next patch...), shitting on Embark despite the overall quality of their FREE TO PLAY game (nobody seems to be thankful of being able to play such a game without having to spend a dime), menacing to quit for good and wishing the game to die soon. Like kids throwing a tantrum. Honestly, this is sad

I dont play light, but I get put on a lot of 2 light teams. And from my perspective its the survivability of lights that make games feel really tough. Curious light players perspectives on if they would be okay with an HP buff but a small debuff to some of their more meta guns to offset that?

A lot of the people who are complaining about sting gun don't know how to counter it and while there is no ability or specialization to straight counter it all you need to do is turn around and shoot the light. The hip fire in the finals is so accurate that you can still easily kill a light player after your stunned especially if they are at all close to you

Crossplay should have an option to turn it off for PC. Should be PS5 and Xbox for crossplay and then option to toggle PC. Tired of playing against PC players with a controller but also a lot more cheaters on PC. With crossplay off I can’t find a ranked game so frustrating

I don't have much good faith left though, as evident by my increasingly negative feedback over time. I used to have a positive outlook, but now things just piss me off, and it pisses me off because I love this game. they created something special here, but they are neglecting it and arguably making it worse.

games been out for like 5 months and the only meaningful change we've seen was them nerfing nukes, and even I think as a light main that they went overboard with that one. Time and time again they have made absolutely baffling changes that either nerfed something too hard or arguably the wrong way, or changed it in no meaningful way, with almost no buffs anywhere to compensate. How hard is it to see all the gadgets and weapons that simply aren't being picked or underperforming and go "oh maybe we should do something about that" instead we're stuck with the same goddamn meta since OB even with all the nerfs.

People have been asking for Grapple cool down buffs and throwing knives/dagger improvements since launch, and still nothing! Yet the hit reg problems and bug list keep increasing, with bugs that have already been fixed once before back in the game again. It seems like a skeleton crew is working on this game, while everyone else works on Arc Raiders (don't even get me started on that).

I don't even think most people think the cloak needed to be nerfed, I think it was in a good spot, although I think it's visibility is bugged since a couple patches ago so im glad they are looking into that. So again, nerfed for no reason really, although im not going to complain in this instance because I don't use cloak and could care less.

Switch the Weapons between light and Medium except for the Melee and the DMR
Since light is a Scout/flanker it would make more sense. Prevents light from dying 24/7 and they have the lowest health for one of the best gun accuracy in the game.
Medium is a defense/Engineer class would make sense for close range SMGs since they use Mines/Turrets and it would prevent them completely dominating the game but, still making it balanced and fair
heavy is the same cause they're demolition and support. Got Shields, rpg, barricade, ect.
Try doing what Battlefield 3-4 did for classes. Made lots of sense and it kept everying balanced and fair.

I think the only "issue" with Light was that it became mostly about the picking people off playstyle. Basically making the game as whole feel not as high stakes as it used to be. I think what needs to the focus of balance changes is what makes each class important & how that affects gameplay. I barely play as much as I want, because it's fairly stale atm. I notice less steals, same comps, etc. So instead of nerfing the weapons(which feel like shooting pellet guns now); adjust what makes each playstyle important. Perhaps also the ingame events could be shorter & more frequent. Low gravity gets boring fast imo.

Light: I think should have very fast steals, speed ofcourse & quicker healing. If gaining an advantage being invis; I think sound should be easier to detect. I thiught the stun gun is fine, but maybe have shorter range or it only impact movespeed & interactions.

Medium: average stats for stealing, speed, self healing, etc. Aslong as every weapon feels viable; medium is solid. Perhaps give them a single shot, super high recoil sniper with somewhat slow reload speed, that can 2 shot a heavy. I would very much like that. Also think it would be much better to have the instant defib even if it's only 25% hp opposed to the current way.

Heavy: I think destruction damage could be higher, but otherwise I also think is mostly fine, again, once all weapons are viable. The shield was fine before when the guns didn't feel so bad. They basically aren't much of a tank now.

TLDR: everything is having the fun sucked out. Gameplay & classes are basically becoming the same.

I get the frustration with the stun gun people have and that Embark is gonna look into nerfing that, but the nerf for the cloak was really uncalled for. I’ve played 5 matches with my main build (xp54, cloak) and my specialization was unreliable. Lights have very high DPS weapons and (maybe over) powerful gadgets because they’re very, VERY vulnerable. I’ve already had too many times where I activate my cloak, get shot (cloak automatically deactivates), then activate it again. I’ve already used 70% of my cloak (that is if I didn’t get hit with 1 bullet again, if I activate it again I’ve used up my whole cloak). I even notice the frustration with my opponents as they’re using other specializations. I also can’t remember I ever heard anyone complain about the cloak. If they really needed to nerf it then perhaps a 20/24% activation usage would have been more understandable (you can use it up to 5ish times), but not 33%, this is too punishing for if a light gets caught in battle.

Cloak should be reworked instead of simply being made scarcer. HALF-VISIBILITY is not fair for anyone at any skill level. It can be impossible for those with worse graphics to see the shimmering outlines, but when you can see them, then it does literally nothing. Sometimes you can cloak right in front of people and they can't see you at all, and sometimes you can cloak from 30 meters away and still get beamed down.

Make it COMPLETE INVISIBILITY (and nerf other aspects about it accordingly), or get rid of it entirely. This way it is more consistent for everyone.

@foggy orbit Yeah, that's basically how Spy in TF2 works. Having to take a moment to uncloak is a perfectly reasonable drawback to having complete invis.

@neat yoke That would basically be terrain-dependent invis. If they're on high ground or airborne, you can't see their footprints. If they're running around on the road below you, you can basically see their exact position. It might be a little finicky to balance around, but I kind of fuck with it -- a lot better than the current system for sure.

the reality is Light doesn't work in a game where ttk is already high with the other classes, light is supposed and has lower ttk/more burst, currently you or the enemy die in 1 second or time is wasted by miracle.
they're nerfing the pain points about light, but they can't rework the entire class, because the class itself is flawed.
Everyone is saying the nerfs will kill the game (ignoring the fact that this is said for each change in the game) and i halfway down don't agree, due to the fact that the only people complaining are well, light mains.

I would prefer stun to be less prevalent, because it's a very easy and cheeky option to do kills with. But I do think there needs to be some look ups for the entire class because design wise it's assassin like design doesn't fit at all, due to the rest of the classes being almost on the same (or higher) level of power.

They can't accept the fact that they strayed off their teams and had to face a light in a fair 1v1 with double the health-bar compared to their opponent. They could've whooped out an RPG, used charge n'slam, could've placed a few mines around or they could've at least just stand still to look at their monitors for once and easily spot the movement of cloak but they didn't, and they died, and they're crying, so we must nerf lights with all our might.

What is the thinking behind nerfing light and heavy, when medium is obviously the best class atm? Looking at ranked semi-final and final it is mostly mediums. What really needs a nerf imo is the defirbrilator. Maybe make the respawn-animation killable. For example it could be that it gains hp over time and when it reaches 100% hp the target is revived. But the animation could be killed in the mean time by dealing the current hp to it.

Just remove the arrows. It was a good try, i do not think it makes much of a sense to show them. I usually get up arrows even for 2nd round in Diamond 3/2, but when 3rd round you get knocked out against a rage cheater who is shooting through shields, i'd prefer not to see me losing 1 arrow for it. x)

As a medium main (not light) I think the cloak nerf is not needed at all, it was in a good spot since the last nerf.
Stun gun rework is needed for sure since it's not balanced but overall I think light needs more buffs than nerfs to make it viable, not for the stun and cloak but in other aspects like HP and defense etc

Have you guys ever considered HDR for the finals? The fog on some maps, it’s soooo hard to see anyone. It’s too bright…no brightness option in settings either. I’d love for this to be adjusted. I think it's important to be able to take things (teammates) out of your hands again. I've been eliminated too many times because I had a teammate in my hand and couldn't put him down. You can only throw things and if there isn't a wall nearby, your teammate will fly across the map. I find the charging time for the Defi to be very long now and not being able to put down objects in your hand is an additional restriction for Medics, in addition to the respawn time and the long Defi loading time. Perhaps there should be a restricted drop option if you have a teammate in hand.

Any chance we get the a version of emulator puffer, volpe bout blanket, bank rabbit and safety garb that can use all headwear? if need be, remove the glitch effect and the hooded parts of these outfits when larger headwear is equipped. Kinda silly to have paid for (and grinded out a battle pass) an outfit and then it’s just…not wearable.

Nurfing cloak is probably the dumbest thing the devs could have done to this game and this is the type of treatment that we get when we don’t say anything at all and stay quite whenever everyone else complains about light class. I have been a light main for a long time and I have not once complained about another class or my own class because I felt it was balanced with lights since we get advantages that allow for us to compete with other classes no matter their buffs or nerfs but by nurfing cloak more it makes it impossible to compete. This is the first time I’m ever complaint about a nerf for light or any build because I honestly feel it’s valid for me to feel this way and feel that the devs made a big mistake. There no way with this new update can people use lights in ranked now. Yes you can nerf stun because it is something that needs to be fixed but cloak was fine what it was at and now it’s not even usable. Light can’t be the player to do damage to all players because it has to focus on doing 1v1 with every player they come across they have no chance to multitask anymore and the devs are going to lose a player base such as myself over us not saying anything and having to deal with the consequences of having no complaints. I hope someone important is reading this and really considering what they are doing to lights before end up killing this game over hearing one side of things other then hearing both sides of peoples arguments because clearly you can tell these devs only hear one side of the story

New equipment idea - Shock Trap!

A trap, that can be placed on any surface. Will be activated within a certain radius and shock the enemy with electricity.

Now comes the most interesting part: activating the trap deals minimal damage (let’s say 50) but the charge remains on the opponent for a while (let’s say 5 seconds). If an enemy teammate comes close enough to charged teammate they will now both be hit (let’s say each person will take 40 damage now). The chain persists untill enemies spread out or after some time, dealing damage every few seconds. More people involved in the chain - less damage is taken by each person. Chain can be broken by Glitch Grenade.

I still don’t know, if the radius needs to be the same as healing beam to make healing difficult or impossible (this requires testing).

The tool serves to force enemies to separate from each other. Can be equipped by Light class to make them more team oriented.

Trap has a lot of potential, can be used to block entrances or a Cashout. What do you think guys?

Concurrent player counts are dropping every day and are at the worst they've ever been 12k rn on steamdb. I wonder if it's because they've done nothing but nonstop nerf everything until every gun is terrible or just unfun to play. Take M60 or Lewis gun recoil patterns, which are still good guns, but not fun to play imo. They took way too long to remove nukes and nerf heavy shotgun, and it took 80% of their player base leaving the game before they did it. Idk if they're too scared so they nerf in little increments or if they just don't understand how to balance the game properly.

I don't have a problem with snipers in Powershift or any game mode for that matter. OR flamethrowers.

What I do have a problem with is that there is no repercussions for people leaving a match in casual. I think there needs to be a punishment added where you have a prolonged timer before you can join another match or something if you've quit out. Or just SOMETHING.

Because this is getting ridiculous with the amount of times you end up in a 3v5 or enter right at the end of a game. It's almost every single game.

Ranked waiting times are far too long. Solo queue 15-20 minutes without finding a match. I also struggle to find a match with my Bronze 2 friend and I am Silver 1. I've also experienced crashing and one random disconnect after winning a round that forced me in a 1 minute ban. Ranked is the only mode in this game that's oddly buggy

They killed this game today. Another meaningless update. +1/-1 blah blah blah. Absolutely zero substance to almost any of these updates since launch. Its not good enough to keep up in 2024. Its really sad honestly, because it started out so fun and just got progressively worse as they continued to listen to the angry nerf mob on discord, while ignoring what everybody has been screaming about basically since day one. Ranked and matchmaking. Each time they nerf something, some of those players just leave. Nobody comes back because of nerfs. Which is pretty obvious with the player count. Embark needs to actually act like they wanna be in the big leagues because this game is about 30-60 days from being completely dead.

they seem to only leave game wide changes for seasonal updates for the most part. I expect we'll just keep seeing litlte pushes to different tools/weapons as this season goes on. It's not in a horrid place at the moment, but I really think what's "killing" the game is the lack of game modes. We really only have like 2, powershift and variations on cashout/quick cash. They do play differently, but the actual game modes themselves don't feel very deep imo. I think they could do with a little bit of spicing up personally.

I also think smoke needs to be given to every class. I didn't really realize it until this season, but all 3 primary counters should be available to every class. It's really frustrating to be playing a match and not be able to counter ONLY fire because only lights can run it. I think it'd be fine if ONLY one class got gas and ONLY one class got fire (or maybe a combination of two of each), but the way it is now just isn't great.

I don't think the weapons are in a fantastic place either. The FCAR doesn't feel quite right anymore. It's the strongest gun in the game, but you always feel like you're a bullet or two short of killing someone, or hit right on the 20th round. I'd love for all the guns to have their recoil patterns make more sense (start small, get large) and get some much needed love. Stronger guns that encourage more burst fire I think would be more healthy for the game than "spam until recoil is basically 0". Most weapons feel like pea shooters outside of right in front of someone (poor famas).

The social features of the game are pitiful. They NEED to add text chat to at least your team - I would prefer having two tabs one for all chat and one to filter to just team chat, but I'll take anything. They also need to allow for adding people on steam, grouping up, etc. Show people's loadouts more clearly at the start of games too so you can coordinate better.

Tbh not much of a reason to play anymore already made it to diamond, the light nerf was insane absolutely no reason to nerf it like that especially in diamond lobbies where you will still be spotted in cloak. Since season one I’ve been begging for haptic/adaptive trigger support for ps5 & 120hz support for ps and Xbox. There are too many amazing competitive shooters out rn with amazing haptics for me to stick with this blindly. Not a fan of cod but xdefiant jus dropped so good luck embark. Y’all killed light with it being the most underpowered class by far with 150hp. That’s 4/5 shots from a fully Auto fcar 😵 especially with the light nerfs still comming up I’m out. Stun sure coulda been needed but invis was fine especially in diamond lobbies even then you’ll get hip fired and die of make it out with 10-30 hp because LIGHT ONLY HAS 150hp. While the meta will still be MMH/HHM. Sucked the fun outta the game I’ll maybe be back next season but with no console support/no haptics. And your need to kill lights with this brain dead heavy/medium meta I can’t take it anymore. Love you embark hope you get bring haptics to the table there’s no reason to play anymore.

This patch was kind of awful I'm not going to lie. The part of cloak that annoys casual players (shooting directly out of cloak) is still in the game and will still happen in very quick cash game and frustrate casual players. But now cloak is more annoying to use. So now both parties are having less fun. This is very similar to the recoil nerfs that were implemented for the FCAR and Lewis and it's a huge step in the wrong direction

Have a strongly visible laser sight so others can see u r using RPG,u have to aim down sight to fire or it takes a while to switch to rpg and add a second delay for firing rpg.

this ranked system is actually messed up, i made an alt to see what playing on an alt would be like cause my d3 main was struggling to climb even winning most of the games. In less than 30hr i managed to hit t500 on the alt, and gain rank on games id clearly lose rank on if i were on my main, it makes no sense

Day 36 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored two bullets every second, 100 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no ā€œpocket minigunā€ strats, choosing to use this is a commitment
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

What fortnite did and what helped keep the player base there was that they didn't just pump out a skin each week they pumped out new content each week adding new items and changing the map each week keeping people excited rather than only adding new content at the start of each season as you guys seem to be doing. Embark, I hope this review reaches you.
There is a game that I hold dear in my heart from my childhood. It used to have incredible metas and many powerful possibilities, but this got lost.
I recently watched a video which made it clear to me what is it hat killed that games gameplay. They decided to handle these metas by "balancing" them down, making them essentially unviable, reducing creativity and possibility for fun.
This video instead proposed that we should aim to make what is not part of the meta more powerful, rather than nerfing what is, because if you nerf what is working then your game becomes flat and boring.

Seriously, do not let this game die. Right now your updates are in line with nerfing what is powerful, rather than making what isnt working better, and this WILL kill this game in the long term.

I genuinely believe that it is almost primarily that which is responsible for low player counts.

Encourage skilled behavior and creative gameplay rather than flattening everything out.

Buff those things which arent used and are currently unviable rather than nerf the meta.

I am literally down on my knees begging you. If you were to be able to see my steam game time as a graph, you would see that I havent played any game really much in years, and then BAM this game drops and i have almost 200 in game hours in such a short time.

Please dont ruin this.

Yo so like the same hacker problem hasn't changed at all. Encountered a full 3 stack of rage hackers jumping on a one bouncepad beaming people from over 150 meters away. I get it you're working on the anticheat but like please increase the ranked tournament requirements back until you figure out the anticheat.

Not only that, the spawns are still terrible for ranked and quick cash. Why am I spawning across the entire map on last cashout? Why am I spawning across the map from a cashout I currently possess? Why am I spawning across the map at all for quick cash, which is supposed to be the most chaotic mode? This issue has survived way too long.

Next. The crashing issues. I love that you guys fixed TFAV1012 last week. That bug plagued me since season 1. However, this update broke something else/introduced a new crash. Now I experience severe memory leaks after winning first round in ranked. 100% memory utilization. I look this up and some others have experienced this issue as well. Please do more testing on lower-mid range PCs or just do more testing in general.

I love this game but please please please work on the anticheat and stability before anything.

Suggestion for the Discord's "game-feedback"

**Issue: **Too many scrubs don't know how to properly post a feedback report. They using this as chat or an place to complain than making a real report for feedback/suggestion for the game.

Solution: Add a Discord Bot like "Listener" to handle the "game-feedback". That could prevent "normally chat and complains without details".
This bot could make a easy detailed report that could be used in actually development; than having to read every other slothful person's complain that has no details nor reasoning for changing game content.

i think the light nerfs should be instead of 33 for cloak it should be 20 - 25 for the stun gun nerf range from 11 to 5.5 so they have to close the distance and you have a better chance at killing them hipfireing

Embark the only thing I have to say about the update is that you nerfing cloak I believe is such a bad idea and now we have to relearn how to use cloak completely. It made a huge difference and I’m a controller player and I felt that the only way I could actually compete at the same level as pc players is by having cloak the way it was before and now you mess up the ability to have cloak as a defense ability as well and it can only be used to get a single kill and then you have to leave your team just to get health back it really makes lights inconvenient to use at this point. So sick of the Devs continually nerfing the weakest class in the game. All the Devs seem to do is listen to the whining Mediums & Heavy's who just want to dominate! The lights are already so much weaker than the other classes the Cloak was about the only thing that attempted to even the field & make light competitive. Nerfing Stun is good but nerfing Cloak again is just plain stupid! The Devs are essentially killing off light class. How much weaker can Lights get?

Interesting way to look at it. What ways would you suggest buffing the light kit? Adding hp makes them essentially a fast medium. Make them faster? Playing with random lights will suck since they will always be in their own. Another way of looking at it is that the rest of the light gear needed to be improved to bring them up to a usable level. Honestly either works for me but imo, cloak is going the way of recon senses. Getting nerfed to being unusable and then removed because it’s not fun anymore. It was a fun play style that I don’t find usable anymore and will miss from the game

I have no complaints. I’ve finally decided to play the game after linux support was officially added some time ago and performance is incredible. The game seems well optimized and I get a consistent 360FPS under DXVK

Adding a little hp can work, though im not too sure about it.
Some people have been suggesting faster regen, which should be fine.
Lights are already on their own often, changing the speed wouldnt make them teamplay less.
One idea i had was slowing them down less when aiming down sight, so that they can try to dodge shots and make thier enemies miss, this would also add another layer of skill expression.

I think lights gear is mostly fine, the class itself needs a little something
(With a few exceptions like dagger for example)

They also said they were looking into visual/audio issues with cloak
So if those get fixed and its a little fairer, the nerfs can probably be reverted

Embark, I really enjoy your game. I have not seen anyone do a shooter like this with a destructible sandbox environment. It's unique and I love it, and I think the game could even better if you added a waypoint opacity setting in the settings. Would be a nice quality of life change to see.

After playing with the new update I have seen the way they nerfed invis messes up so much and it’s such a big change that now cloak can no longer be used as a defense mechanism. I have to relearn how to use cloak now since it’s changed so much and change my entire gameplay and Ik you were trying to get rid of spam cloak but what if I get shot and I try using cloak to get away and then I get shot again and I can’t use cloak to get away anymore because it’s drained so fast. that’s what I mean by not having any defense anymore to stay alive cause it drains so much by using cloak when you doubled it from 15% to 33%. Another thing is now as a light you can no longer be near your team when needed because you can only use cloak for such a short time you can get one kill and then you have to run and hide until your health comes back and leave your team behind. You can no longer help your team out by doing tics of damage to people because once you get shot your cloak only last long enough to get away from people. These flaws show how much cloak was already balanced before y’all nerfed it. Another flaw is now since y’all nerfed cloak I can no longer compete at the same high level as pc players since I believed what made this game fun was that this was the first game that console players could actually compete with pc players with their specialties at the same level since pc has always dominated every game. I had fun playing this game because of the cloak gave me the first edge over pc players that I have ever had playing any game but now that’s gone and I feel that we’re always underneath pc players. I don’t mind and feel that stun does needs to be nerfed or even taken out the game but keep cloak to where it was before. If there’s anyone that agrees with me please like this message or something so it can get the devs attention. Thank you

I won't lie, I'm a Light main and I tried the sniper for the first time the other day.
It makes me want to double down on my Bow & Arrow suggestion.

The Sniper had a low skill floor with the other tools in the class that make it so effective. Cloak and Grapple make the player pretty elusive while having high hitscan damage. I could feel that I was being annoying while the medium and heavy classes couldn't do anything it was up to the enemy light players to counter me.

Nevertheless, I - even more so now - feel that a replacement would be worth a shot. I think a bow would be a fun and challenging option.

Draw Strength/Speed:
Things like Range, Damage, & Rate of Fire could be scaled per draw depending on how long you pull the bow back
Example: Max 1second draw time = full damages/full range
0.5 second draw time = half damage/half range
0.25 seconds draw time = you get the idea

**Quicker shots allow for faster higher rate with a direct sacrifice of damage.
((Personally, I think that would allow for some sick Gameplay clips.))

Accuracy:
The arrow goes where you put it.
The way I imagine this is that you possibly use the blue line for grenades and such as an indicator for the bow and the longer you draw the bow back is the straighter the blue line becomes to show where it should hit.

Damage:
I think it would be SICK if you could hit a headshot with a bow that has projectile time. I think something like that should be rewarded so I think the damage should be at least as much as the current Sniper.

I'm sure I forgot some things but it's just some food for thought.

Y'all should change this slow mode to once a day, autoreact with up or down arrows on each post and let people vote on changes, and ban/mute people from this channel if they post stuff that isn't feedback related. (Can be done with autoroles).
All this channel is at this point( and long before ) is just a vent channel where a large amount of casual/lower rank players make a disproportionate amount of noise about things that they dont know/have very little experience about. Casual player base is important, but they get a disproportionate amount of representation because higher skilled players don't take the time post here.
For example, people are obsessed with 1v1s in a team based objective game (even in casual modes), on paper ttk comparisons (on paper means nothing in game because of randomness).
And give feedback when people that we report are banned. Everyone complains about cheaters, and keeps complaining about them because there's no positive feedback involved in reporting them.

Some disconnections cannot be reconnected, and some have been brought up for competition. The previous version of the game loading will not cause people to disconnect. Have not been able to even get into a ranked match in weeks. Other people in my region have reported getting multiple matches while friends and I sit in queue. We've changed our region, relaunched, tried waiting up to 45 minutes in queue, tried resetting every 5 minutes, tried changing party leaders, tried duo queuing/solo queuing instead of a full team, etc. Something is just fucked with our matchmaking. Tried to report it, tried to ask devs, been getting stonewalled at this point. Feels like there's some sort of elephant in the room that's not being addressed with it, and it's not just us. We literally just want to play the game.

My 4 cents with ideas on how to boost this game's longevity:

  • Community servers + server browser. Pretty much the primary thing to add to secure this game's future, and one of the best solutions/mitigations to the cheater problem (provided that there'll be also an ability for admins to extensively moderate their own server... maybe even a votekick?). Even if the worst comes to pass and the game's support ends, with this addition the community will be able to keep it alive by themselves. I have a feeling that Embark is no stranger to such features... and The Finals is more than a suitable game for this implementation.
  • Pre(post)-match lobbies. This, in my opinion, would significantly improve the social aspect of the game: being able to interact with the people you play with even after the match ends, voting for maps together, banding up into parties with said people, even something as simple as giving endorsements, and so forth. I understand that we have things like Discord and such, and I know that there's no in-game text chat to begin with (though I'm still not sure why Embark is so hesitant about adding it)... But I think that not only these kinds of lobbies will tighten the connection between players, but also make the whole community stronger and more unified.
  • Gamemode mixtape. Basically the ability to pick and mix gamemodes (and maybe maps) to play on. Like searching matches for both Cashout and Quick Cash, or for every mode at once.
  • Map editor. Wishful thinking at this point, since the maps are the most complex aspect of the game with dynamic destruction and all... Yet it would be just so gratifying to make something and then tear or blow it up apart with others. I don't expect this feature to come any time soon, but... in 4-5 years, maybe?

Oh, and on an unrelated note - more contestant slots, please and thank you.

It literally takes 3 body shots to kill a M. If you are getting clipped on I suggest you get better and stop whining.
The sniper is so hard to use in a useful way you have no idea. Good sniper players have to position themselves and be able to take 1v1s with only 6 bullets, 100% accuracy, slow time between shots and a L health pool. Let that sink in. Quickscoping is essential to 1v1s encounters when sniping bc then, they should just remove it altogether. You wouldnt be able to push with the sniper if not for quickscoping.
Last point, the sniper is legit the first weapon you can use for free. People who are new often use it to "have fun" and try to do Call of Duty things. They often find in a point tthat the sniper is not like COD and they will lose all the time bc they arent playing the objective.

Actually a good player but I always sit out and wait 6-20 mins because if close the game and reconnnect it says error server what ever and which forces me to end the game and get hit with as two hour ban I play on ps5. yes i do, 2/3 matches i come across players using the sniper and quick scoping, its not a skill issue when the fcar was nerfed for its range and the recon equipment was removed futhermore the sniper does not take skill, try using the kraber from titanfall, the sniper is easy to use, it sounds like a skill issue from your end, its a hitscan weapon and as someone who competed in halo tournaments i can tell you that sniper is a crutch for bad players who cant recoil control or use their movement, you talk about rank play like thats the basis of what the game should be balanced around when that mode itself is broken personally the game does not need a sniper but rather power weapon pickups that all players use, ive never seen as many snipers as i did this season then it was in the beta, im not asking to nerf the damage but the ability to quick scope fast, im asking for people to actually play the game rather then turn it into a quickscoping match, the nerf to stun and invis was not needed as it originally had the counter which was moved to light, the sniping wouldnt be a problem if the med had a dmr or a buff range to one of its three weapons

"Sonic Arrow":
"Attach" a sonar grenade to the bow and basically increases range of the sonar grenade since you equipped it with the bow

-Would be cool to see how other throwable gadgets would work like a flash bang arrow or explosive tip arrow.

Alternate fire:
Rapid Fire vs. Full Draw - Maybeeee it would be cool to have a two fire modes.
-One where we fire from the hip (not "scoped in"). Less accurate. Quick draw
-The other where we "scope in" and fully draw the weapon for full force, accuracy, & damage. (Still needing skill since there is projectile speed and bullet drop)

This is some of the other stuff I had in mind but I was to lazy to add to the OP. I couldn't go to sleep without adding these thoughts though.

the main problem is lights health, as a dps class it needs to be able to out dps a medium at least when getting the jump on them as intended however that isnt the case in todays meta,the fcar single handedly destroys light since it has a higher dps than all of lights weapons thus making a medium running fcar a dps build that can survive a lights ambush even with full headshots the ttk is simply to vast of a difference. this bringins me to my next point health either if it was brought up to 200 itd fix a lot since most players know how to hit their shots then theyd need only to take stun out and make like an aoe effect where opponents cant use gadgets/steal cash/revive etc and has an instant detonation that is stationary like a dome shield that last12 second disables all gadgets not specialties. this would give light a controller ablity like so many of the other classes have these are big changes but if they want to see this game thrive with only 3 classes to balance then it needs to be done. although light doesnt need these things exactly, it lacks control/survivability. both of the other classes have control/survivability eventhough they are advertised as otherwise. thanks for the consideration

You are stating to REMOVE the sniper bc its annoying. Please remind yourself that you are in a feedback channel. How would a Light sniper push the objective with 6 bullets, slow fire rate, slow aim, No quickscopes, Light healthpool and having 100% accuracy?? Yoou would have to hit a Heavy 4/6 times in about 15 secs. A response to your NERF (or total annihilation) would be to move the newly updated sniper to heavy or medium and increase its damage; since the gun wouldnt be viable to push the objective with (the main focus of this game)

Buff idea for burst weapons;
Let players hold down the fire button to do burst-auto firing, so it’s still doing 3 round bursts with a short cooldown in between but you don’t have to spam click the button so much. You could also make it so that it would technically be faster to spam click fire, but holding the fire button is slower yet more reliable etc

To be fair snipers are only ever an issue in PS. And by issue I mean that they can spawn camp and spend the whole game taking shots at (but not necessarily killing) enemy players who actually fight for the platform.

It's not game-breaking, but it's certainly annoying and does not push players to play the objective.

April Fool's PS did not have the sniper available, it was much more enjoyable/action packed that way.

Snipers generally fail at doing anything relevant in Cashout. They're pretty much a dead weight whenever the cashout is located inside buildings unless we're talking Vegas/Horizon with very wide rooms. And even then, they're more of a nuisance than an actual threat against a stacked team using mesh/dome/barricade/heal/defib.

Edit: I should add that this is the case unless the Light playing sniper has a god-tier aim and consistently lands HS, but we're talking about a small minority of players. Most will be better off using something else in the Light arsenal, LH1 being the top pick for (more forgiving and flexible) mid to long range gameplay.

APS: Proactivity and fck your projectile problem (Day 5 of asking)

Notes:
. to start off, i love the idea of the aps, the ability of being able to defend an area locking down a room is fun
. but its just unfair in some situation all because the "fck your projectile" part of APS.
for a weapon like the GL that shoot projectile you basically lose the fight automatically
. and for powershift its basically mandatory to win (that gamemode need a rework tbh)
. its also a one and done. meaning once you place it down it just stay there forever

. (fck your projectile) either make it so it take damage with each projectile destroy. Or it can only destroy 5 projectile then broke

if you use nades or gls just outside of aps range, it will damage it over time.. @rough herald im not talking about a counterplay. I am talking about the gl and nade explosive radius is larger than the aps range. therefore if you shoot your gl next to the aps range it will take 1/4 of its health as well as damage the player unless something like a barrier or cashout is blocking Line of sight. I do believe aps is extremely strong and it should take damage if it is in that range but for now till they fix it

Could we get more eyes on this? I get that it could be frustrating to play against light players, as a light main myself, maximising my spec usage is vital as it should be with the other classes but this is especially true due to the health disparity between classes. With the new changes I'd like to explore the redefined identity of the light class.

Before I address cloak I want to talk about evasive dash, how viable is it? With the right positioning, dash can act as a reliable engaging and disengaging tool but once you stop playing against people with 2 fingers and no monitor you can get tracked easily. Will they miss a lot due to dash? Yes, but with the hp of light, getting hit means either death or a forced reset. Playing with dash correctly is difficult, it requires finger dexterity, reaction speed and game sense yet it does not feel rewarding as even when played well, the results feel average. Playing with a vanish bomb brings light to a lot of new angles but makes it even harder to both position where you get value from the vanish and still in position to use dash safely: it's viability will have to rely on what the Embark team mean when they say "we’re also investigating changes to the visibility of cloaked players...".

Now, why was cloak an issue? I can only assume it was how difficult it was to punish, catching an invis player was difficult to follow up due to their high ms and recastability. The change prevents players from "toggling it on and off too frequently". I think this issue was mainly relevant in mid ranged combat: If you look at a player called Piggy (I think he is an EU player) he plays with cloak to create re-peek angles that wouldn't originally playable without cloak. Is this overtuned? Yes, but the response was like when the Japanese hit pearl harbour. Getting fucking nuked seemed a bit much and the change was drastic and immediately effects ranked.

I agree with this, as I already stated in #light-lounge , while I do play on PC, I do main light but play both other classes as well. I do not think cloak needed a nerf, it was fine. I don’t use cloak a lot nowadays bc I switched to dash on sword but I still feel cloak was balanced enough. Stun gun however always felt awful to fight against, especially when using a melee weapon, you’re just dead. So, I’d rather have them just remove the stun gun and replace it with smth else.
Embark might have further plans to change cloak, perhaps to make it better in some other areas. If that’s the case, let’s be patient and let them cook I’d say.

I've got a couple of ideas to (in my opinion) improve some of the aspects of the game. For the record, I'm using most of these weapons/specializations as well because they're generally the most OP (and necessary in higher ranks).

Weapons/Specializations:

  • For the Mesh shield, consider relaying a certain percentage of damage back to the player carrying the shield (for example 10-20%), so if the mesh shield takes 100 damage, the player health drops 10 to 20 HP. In this case make it that the damage the mesh shield absorbs can't actually kill the player and leaves them at a minimum of 5 hp or something. In this case the shield is more like an extension of the player's health and not a simple "emergency panic button". The amount of times I've shot 3 bullets at a heavy only for them to instantly press Q is absurdly annoying.
  • Consider decreasing either the damage or the fire rate of the FCAR. Right now there's not a single weapon that's a match for the FCAR if you're going head-to-head.
  • Make a healing beam not stackable on a single player or limit the healing rate to something similar to the healing rate of a single beam.
  • Consider making the APS turret take a little bit of damage for every projectile it blocks so it can't be used indefinitely (for example behind a heavy barricade).
  • Make the goo gun have a cooldown in some way, either after one magazine or something like that. I'm tired of being locked in place for a minute straight by a heavy shooting the goo gun from a roof, while I can't do anything. Even shooting back at someone while you're being goo'd is impossible.

Maps/Events:

  • Spawns seem broken (at least in ranked) lately. Before we would sometimes spawn near an objective but now we only spawn on the other side of the map (usually 200+ meters away).
  • Give suspended structures on Monaco some embedded Jump pads so you can always get to the platform in some way. Especially in the park area you can't always make the platform with your own jump pad.

actually just played a full match on EU without a cheater, idk if its just due to small sample size but if the cheater issue is much less present now then thats genuinely huge for the game.

New equipment idea - Shock Trap!

Part 1.

A trap, that can be placed on any surface. Will be activated within a certain radius and shock the enemy with electricity.

Now comes the most interesting part: activating the trap deals minimal damage (let’s say 50) but the charge remains on the opponent for a while (let’s say 5 seconds). If an enemy teammate comes close enough to charged teammate they will now both be hit (let’s say each person will take 40 damage now). The chain persists untill enemies spread out or after some time, dealing damage every few seconds. More people involved in the chain - less damage is taken by each person. Chain can be broken by Glitch Grenade.

I still don’t know, if the radius needs to be the same as healing beam to make healing difficult or impossible (this requires testing).

The tool serves to force enemies to separate from each other. Can be equipped by Light class to make them more team oriented.

Trap has a lot of potential, can be used to block entrances or a Cashout. What do you think guys?

Please make invis more visible and loud but rollback invis trigger cost from 33% to 20%. This will solve the issue with dumb players who can not see invis but will still leave the place for invis to be usable

I really do not understand or agree with people wanting the APS turret to be nerfed in any way, shape or form.

It's fragile, immobile, has a narrow AOE and only one can be used at a time by each Medium player. It's the only hard counter to explosive projectiles, especially M/H grenade launchers.

The Finals is a rather fast paced FPS, where all teams are constantly on the move. Even when defending, you can rarely stay still, which means you can also rarely sit in the APS circle.

One of my team mates uses APS in his main build; he deploys it in two scenarios: 1) when defending, obviously, or 2) on the offensive, if we're stuck in a longer, mid/long range firefight. In any case, if you're picking APS, you're using up a gadget slot for a fragile situational negating tool, instead of grenades, which can be useful in a wider variety of situations.

An APS nerf would just promote brainless bunny-hopping GL40 spam gameplay, which honestly requires close to zero skill. If you're playing GL40 and your mates can't help quickly dispose of an APS, that's on your team. You should not blame the gadget for doing exactly what it's meant to do in its limited AOE, or the opposing team for outsmarting you with the right counterplay.

@gusty thorn Dishonest argument. Most Lights (over)use cloak w/ stun gun just to stack up easy kills, regardless of the objectives. Therefore not really helping the team. Way to get something nerfed.

What we propose is that the option to buy individual items is made available to not only increase sales of cosmetics but also satisfaction with customisation within and with the game itself.

You could still make it viable by using a method of (i.e pack multibucks cost Ć· items in bundle = individual price) this would allow a lot of people to pick and choose what they want to customise their character with, in a game with as much customsation as this already has, it just makes sense.

It would also give you a metric on what items are most popular and which aren't and invest more time and energy into making similar items perhaps to maximise capital.```

quit messing with the ks-23 accuracy. it did not need an accuracy buff. it needs to deal more damage. even if it means reducing rate of fire, the ks-23 will permenantly be a useless gimmick gun unless its damage gets increased to at least 110. it could also have used a range buff or a reload speed buff. but it recieved an accuracy buff? its already very accurate as long as you're not in the air. its range and damage already got nerfed super hard. help the gun where it needs help. you buffed it today in an area where the gun does not struggle. pointless change. buff its range and damage already.

Lights should be removed and replaced with a different, but still unique, build archetype.

The vast majority of combat with lights is either melt or be melted. There's rarely any unique and balanced gameplay around them, they either die quickly or kill you instantly. They are an extremely problematic class both from a gameplay and balance perspective, and will never be implemented in a way that satisfies the playerbase, always being either too strong or too weak.

Let's look at this issue first from the eyes of new players (which we kind of need if we're going to keep the game in any way popular). If I might be so bold, the light class may be the main reason new players quit the game. New players are typically worse at the game, and being killed instantly half the time by a light with an smg and struggling to counter it isn't the most enjoyable experience. Many of them might think that light is OP (which isn't true) and probably quit the game due to how frustrating they are. Mediums and heavies provide mostly balanced combat for both new and experienced players, lights don't.

Now let's look at this in the perspective of more dedicated and skilled players. Lights are less frustrating but also don't contribute anything to the game; their mandatory hit and run playstyle strongly discourages objective and team play, and means that lights fit poorly into the way the game functions; while they would work well in a competitive team deathmatch mode, they don't work well in the main modes of the finals which is why they've historically been underused in ranked (competitive) modes. Buffing them is not the solution, since like I explained earlier their concept and implementation prohibits them from providing balanced combat and gameplay.

In conclusion, lights are either severely demoralising and frustrating (particularly for new players trying the game out) or completely forgettable, rarely contributing something good and balanced to The Finals.

I know this is a given and its been said to death already but:
The APS-turret is really annoying for anyone actively using grenades or any projectile for that matter. It essentially denies any use the grenade launchers have and cancels most gadgets with next to no cost.
I've heard people say that there should be a startup time like with the normal turret, a limit to the projectiles deflected or a "cool off - period" after a certain number of deflected projectiles.
My idea is to make it so the projectiles activate when they are shot down but in a much lesser version. This would create some interesting chemisty with different projectiles and make it so the APS cant just be abused as a ball of denying 50% of attacks.

  • explosions like grenades, grenade launchers and rpg would still explode with a little dmg. Because of this they would still pose a bit of a threat and could slowly take down the turret themselves.
  • Gas grenades would create a smaller cloud of gas with less duration.
  • pyro grenades could explode in a single burst of flame setting the turret and enemies in close proximity ablaze for a few ticks of dmg.
  • sonar grenades could send out a single ping of sonar.
  • etc.
    I would really like to see smth done about APS since, as it currently stands, its just a hard counter to a lot of things.

Complaints about APS rise from its use in Powershift. And I can understand these complaints. But wanting that gadget to be nerfed in general, and not specifically in PS, makes little sense. It's very far from being unbalanced/overpowered in Cashout.

I'm neither a Medium main, nor a Silver player, nor a hypocrite. Light players whining about the CD/stun gun nerf using all the wrong arguments are the hypocrites here.

This cheesy gimmick was mostly made unpopular by being used and abused not to help the team win, but to solo chase enemies and stack up pointless kills. It would have never been the target of that much complaining otherwise. I always thought that brainless Lights would get these two nerfed heavily some day, and here we are.

In all my QC games yesterday, there was always one or several braindead Light players roaming on their own, constantly using CD/stun gun for no good reasons. They rarely every made any difference against our stacked team with coms... But that's not because Lights suck. That's because THEY suck. They would have lost every fight just as fast, had they used any other class. Hell, sometimes, they could have won the fight easily, had they not relied on that gimmick. And CD/stun gun or any other gadget isn't supposed to make up for lack of skills.

PC should have a separate toggle in cross-platform if the cheating can't be reigned in, this is absurd.

Light needs some reworking as they're mostly reliant on enemy incompetence, surprise, and/or their most powerful tools to get any impact. I'd probably make grapple a gadget or buff it to grab items or something, and they could probably do with a minor health buff, no more than 25 but a little something potentially, although I'm not certain what they would need entirely

With your low health you have to constantly play for cover and repositioning both. I know you might struggle with this because invis made you stop thinking about it but now you specifically have to have a semblance of situational awareness and acumen; play behind cover and pressure alongside your team or at a safe angle. Light has 3 whole weapons (arguably 4) that are effective at close-long range but most are close-medium which is more than enough to get the job done. This change forces invis players to just play with more sense. That's it. That is all. If you cannot handle this, you are not the highest common denominator you label "skilled players" and ought to switch off.

part 2 of my invis opinion: Now if we get caught out ONCE by anything (gas, fire, guardian turret, a bullet from medium/heavy's vast array of long range weapons, etc.) 66% of our cloak is cut including the original cast. This is not a nerf of this admittedly effective hit and run tactic but a complete deletion making it entirely unviable.

Extremely effective usage of this spec would look like - cloak, stun, kill, cloak. This means it would take your entire cloak (if not almost all) in order to generate one kill angle. assuming your opponent has their monitor on and their mouse plugged in you may lose the fight considering the damage output of some ARs and shotguns (I'm looking mainly at the model 1887 and the ks-23). You effectively need to set every spec and gadget on cooldown just to initiate a coinflip. This change feels effective in mid-high elo 3-stacks but fucks over the average player. For the love of god please set up some kind of PBE testing server or make a more reasonable adjustment like 25% or even just a cooldown in between invis (if you get shot out of invis u would have to wait 2 secs to recast). The intention for this nerf is not clear and this just feels lazy and negligent. Light has reduced to a class with high risk and low reward.

Note: I've seen some opinions on this nerf and tbh a lot of them are a bit exaggerated but you cant deny it's effect on the majority of players in the more casual scene. It leaves lower elo players lost as to what their win condition is since the original leverage of being able to safely reengage is almost impossible now.

@pale quest that method of killing is the only way a light can execute from 100 to 0 consistently and it only works on isolated opponents. Imagine he does that to you while ur homie is next to u, he just blows up lol. Also this nerf doesn't prevent that from happening it stops smth like invis, stun, 3x (shoot + invis), kill, invis. which is valid asf

I think the "fck your projectile" idea is good, but maybe change to 7 or 8; 5 seems weak. I also think the following changes should be made:

  1. 1 aps turret allowed per team (maybe 2 in modes that aren't power shift since it's mostly an issue there)
  2. Has no effect on grenade launchers, but also takes reduced damage from them if not a direct hit
    I think these would help make the aps turret more balanced, since its main issues imo are grenade launchers and spam on power shift

I'd have to dissagree. I main light and I'm diamond in ranked with a 3.2 KD. Everyone Needs to play cover regardless. Cover and repositioning was and always will be very important and this was the case even before the invis nerf with light. If you're caught shooting in the open as a light you're dead (at least in high ranked play). There are a lot of situations where cover just isn't available or not an option (on certain cashouts for example). Right now if anything takes you out of cloak including if it's by your own free will you don't have enough to cloak again for an amount of time that's actually viable. Although I do agree that being able to cloak mid combat (cloak spam) and get away with it makes for an ability that is very frustrating and very hard to deal with in casual play and to a lesser extent in competitive play. Very often now I'm just waiting behind cover now for my cloak to recharge before I can do any action at all or any reposition. Cloak it's strength is that you can reposition to another spot without being seen. You can bridge an open area with less risk involved and light needs that cause you only have 150 hp. If anyone ever sees you before you see them, you lose that fight as a light. I think the extra cloak activation should have been accompanied to a slight boost to its recharge time also. Like this you will have cloak available when you need it but are still punished for getting caught out in the open.

The current Materialiser needs to be reworked or buffed due to the way the gameworld collapses. Often you go to open up a wall and theres an entire wall made up of tiny pieces you cant climb through, so you have to either run around looking for a good entry point, or use up 2 charges to open up a piece of wall big enough to get through.
Or for example if you're above the Server type room and want to drop down into it, you open up the floor only to find pipes and railings attached to the piece of ceiling you just dematerialised, meaning you've wasted a charge because you can't drop down, or you open up a piece of wall and there is an object directly behind it that you can't move.

It ruins so many clutch situations where you can pull off an unexpected play.

New equipment idea - Bear Trap!

Part 2.

It basically works like a mine. Stepping on it will immobilize you for a long time (5-6 seconds) but a trapped player or a teammate can destroy it. Trapped player will still be able to shoot, use gadgets and specialization.

Trap after activation has same health as APS, bigger hitbox than a mine, as well as activation radius.

Imagine trapped heavy with equipped mesh shield. If he is alone he will find himself in a situation where he will have to decide whether to activate shield and wait for help, or shoot the trap down, take damage and run away, or shoot back while standing still.

I was thinking about how to make this gadget useful in ranked. I came up with idea of giving 2 traps and making it not so obvious to it on the ground. I am not sure though , who should carry this gadget: heavy or light class, but definitely not mediums.

Make the KS-23 reload better.

Currently, when the KS-23 has no ammo left, it reloads two shells at once, and if it doesn't it's just one shell.

Make it so if it's missing more than 2+ shells it has that same 2 shell reload, similar to the Model 1887.

One thing I supremely hated when it came to invis was just mindless traversal of fights with next to no critical thinking or awareness when placed next to it's other gadgets making it consistently top 1 no matter what. I've always wanted it to be in line but I can understand that this inadvertently shuts an invis light out of a lot of situations if shit goes south. While I strongly believe that the increase in cloak loss is a step in the right direction, I also think that a compensation buff where the time it takes to charge back up is decreased may also be a step in the right direction.

people who are trying to give advice on how to play after invis nerf are people who hate lights bc they can't counter them or they never used invis in the first place. the more you use this thing the more you realize how invis has become a viable broken unusable tool, this nerf is horrendous.

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here's some suggestions, I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:

  • While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
  • Increase swing speed (Honestly a lot issues would be solve with this, the weapon lacks a good ttk)
  • Lunge distance (90% of the fight become a chase you can't win, the other classes have ways to block enemies, slow them down or catch up to them, even heavies have RPG to finish people off if they use sledge)
  • Increase damage from 84 to 90
  • Electrify the baton and give it a glitch effect, when you hit somebody they're glitched for 2,5 sec (This would give the shield so much utility and would help the team greatly, making it a viable options)
  • Remove the fov zoom when you hold your shield up (it's very annoying that when you block the screen zooms in, either remove it or add the option to choose between affected or indipendent fov while aiming)

ALLOW MELEE WEAPONS TO KEEP SPRITING WHEN ATTACKING:

  • This would help them to compete

IMPROVE MELEE TRACKING:

  • Some weapons like the Dagger have an insane lock that is not needed, on the other hand the Riot Shield has a very weak lock, you can't even hit people in your face sometimes. Consider increasing the angle at which the lock works and reduce the lock strenght on the Dagger

FIX THE DAGGER BACKSTAB:

  • Backstabs with the Dagger are the most incosistent thing I've ever seen, a lot times either nothing happens or it's not backstab even though you're right behind them and other times it is when you're literally in front of them
  • Increase the backstab hitboxes because the latency of the servers causes this problems
  • Make it so you can hold the backstab and it's not a forced animation, revert it like it was in the Open Beta

Hey guys. I had a game once where I was defending a cashout in seoul in hospital. It was a final round. Next cashout we were defending on the moving platforms. So the enemy team had no any chance even to come close enough because we couuld easily shoot them from far away with AK an FCAR. I can on only imagine the frustration of the enemies ESPECIALLY if it would be a team of new players. So to make the game more inviting to new players I want to share with you my ideas. Import to know. Those changes must be applied only to casual game modes, not ranked. The main point is in fact, to simplify the game, to give newcomers slight advantage, to make their experience less horrible. Not all of the suggestions must implemented exactly like that and not all of them, these are just some of possible changes.

1/5. What do you think about adding slight bloom to all the weapons (starting from 150-200 meters for example) to make it harder for experienced players to kill opponents across the entire map?

2/5. What do you think about making enemy hitboxes slightly bigger for players with low K/D ratio (below 0.4) (or any other indicator such as time played, wins and loses, accuracy percentage)? The change should be made in that way to make it impossible to farm it in order to get undeserved advantage.

What we propose is that the option to buy individual items is made available to not only increase sales of cosmetics but also satisfaction with customisation within and with the game itself.

You could still make it viable by using a method of (i.e pack multibucks cost Ć· items in bundle = individual price) this would allow a lot of people to pick and choose what they want to customise their character with, in a game with as much customsation as this already has, it just makes sense.

It would also give you a metric on what items are most popular and which aren't and invest more time and energy into making similar items perhaps to maximise capital.```

The inlcusion of a sniper in this game when every other weapon's had its long range capabilities gutted really makes me question the devs approach to game design. I would love to see this experimented. I think it would be interesting and would also solve the "Lights are not viable in ranked" complaint, since all teams would have to have one.

I understand that Embark wanted to offer more gameplay diversity by letting players pick their team comp freely, but if there are three classes in this game, then all three should be there in a competitive/tournament mode.

Edit: and team comps mostly revolve around M/H anyway, so freedom of team comp --> meta builds/team comp --> actually less diversity.

Why not have a fixed class game mode, i.e. you get to pick L/M/H, and will only fight with and against said class, while remaining free to choose your loadouts (unlike the previous events).

I think experienced players should be allowed to express their skill (yes even across the map). People who are bad at shooters shouldn't be given special treatment. You should try to improve or play pve games instead. Sometimes a bad gaming experience is because you're bad at the game. If game devs tried to accommodate for that I think the game would become very stale and boring. It's a competitive game because the objective in the end is to win. Removing the need to improve at the game by making changes geared towards bad players just removes a reason to play the game for a longer amount of time. Also there are a lot of abilities that are great at closing the gap so getting beemed at long range shouldn't be an issue for those who actually understand the game. SBMM is already trying to accommodate for bad players but there's a cap to how bad you can be for sbmm to make your experience any better.

It has nothing about restricting experienced players expressing their skill or making their experience worse, it’s about making experience of newcomers less horrible. New player with K/D 0.4 can’t suddenly become a pro with light aim assist. New players eventually will play better and make kills, at this moment they will not need these advantages anymore and they will be turned off for them. And opponents for experienced players will be slightly better because of that, but yeah instead of 20/0 kd they will have 14/2, but they will win anyway. And there is no place for those advantages in ranked of course, it’s for causal game modes, modes that casuals are playing. After a hitbox update in Overwatch 2 average online raised from 30k to more than 40k. It’s almost 60k now - 2 months after the update. Don’t you want this game to have bigger playerbase?@drifting gorge Some of those suggestions will not harm you in any way, why are you so offensive and rude?

If I were to rate the game based on the first season, it would be 10/10. But this season, everything is bad:

  1. The free Battle Pass gives absolutely nothing interesting (I bought it, but my girlfriend didn't. And you can see how this season's prizes have been greatly weakened). Last season was brighter.

i love these posts complaining about the mesh shield nerf, in the class that has 350HP and a shield that had the triple of its health which is often abused in high level play or double heavy teams. no one asked for, but its not a bad change at all.

I don't think the suggestions you're making are going to improve the newcomer experience by a lot. there's also a player base that sits in the middle that won't be getting these advantages and they will feel like they are being treated unfairly. The people with average skill will still lose to cracked players but will now also lose more to bad players as well if we implement your change. Also making guns worse at range would force the game into a close range meta and close range is already where most engagements are anyway so a lot of guns would just not be viable. People who are good at the game are also those who play it a lot and stick to it. We should also look at keeping our current playerbase.

This game is literally unplayable on Asia, The worst FPS out right now in terms of cheaters and shit, The devs are powerless against DMA cheaters and aimbotters, They don't have a VOTE KICK functionality, they don't have a text chat, they don't have a active moderator. DUDE just implement a vote kick, IF in a round 5 people secretly vote to kick a player THATS A CHEATER. make it a secret vote so others don't know that their vote is counting towards the 5. It's 5 because you are worried it will be abused by teams of 3 and make it a hard rule that only 2 players can be vote kicked or something in a match. I, as an experienced player, will not feel myself left out because of these changes. I would be happy for others instead. You are right though, this will not improve new players experience by a lot, but it will improve their experience in any way. Players that join the game and spend half of the match watching the kill cam will not play this game anymore, they need to have feeling, that they can do something and the game is not full of pros. Thats important to keep your current players, but without simplifying the game and making it more inviting for newcomers you will end up in situations, where you will see how your current playerbase left to play new titanfall or new battlefield or arc raiders and new players will not come, because remaining players are cracked.

Whatever you choose to nerf Stun Gun but - do not take possibility to cancel cashout. Without that L will be even more useless for a teamplay and ranked.
Also, consider making invis easier to detect but to revert last changes which takes 33% from usage to maybe 20%. If the problem consist from players who don't know how to detect L then try to make it easier for them instead of totally killing this specification. You know, when you think that something is a problem it might be smarter to fix the property of the problem instead of removing the full object without thinking what is the problem.

Please read the feedback from users here or on some reddit after this patch. Total majority of users says that they did not really had major problems with Lights while it is just annoying to play against them. Maybe let them be less annoyable but still playable not in the sense that they should stay AFK but play the damn game with just less annoyance for other users?

Do you think that snipers that make 1 shot and going invis again are too much? - then make waste of charge to be twice if invis breaks from the shot instead of making it by default!

exactly, you go back and forth with how you play, no problem with that. A lot of people do, I do it too, my second main is med(turret+ak+mines). But still I mainly main light. What I'm saying is if you are used to a style and a nerf completely destroys the ability of how you play, it's not fun, and that has nothing to do with skills or adapting, it's just kills the fun to a big degree to see your hard work being questioned and you having to learn the ropes all over again. All I'm saying if you nerf an item, it's basic abilities and advantages should stay while any abusive or overpowering aspect of it should be reduced or removed. Invis was absolutely okay as is, not overpowered not underpowered either. It's just some people found stun+invis combo too hard to play against, and even that is a stun gun problem not an invis one. But this nerf completely breaks it's attacking abilities down to nothing.

This patch was absolutely shit, changing the invis from 12 percent to 33 percent is an absolute fuckup being a light player i really enjoy it, having an disadvantage of health at 150 compared to medium and heavy it puts u in a position where u already are taking a risk playing as light, i believe that now invis is not usable for me as i have less time to take my time i feel more pushed into having to make quicker decisions or put my self in sticky situations where i have no options and im most likely going to die for me i feel like i cant make better plays or really just enjoy myself. as well dash for me is not enjoyable as majority of pc players have good aim and can track a light player dashing so either way i feel stuffed.

Feedback for light build, with the new cloaking device is okay to play with, but i seem to get penalized on scenarios where lets say someone is shooting at me as im running away lets say one bullet hits me right after i activate the cloaking device well now i gotta toggle it again bc they keep shooting. only to be invis for 1 second, 2 at most and with 150 health it really penalizes the cloaking device. On the other hand 150 health with the dash or grappler feels balanced, like you can do something in the same scenario. 300 health for light would be better with cloaking device(as how cloaking device is rn) but would be op with dash and grappler.... So maybe just reducing the % it takes when toggling it could balance the cloaking device, something like 25%? (is at 33%rn changed from 14.2%) or another percentage OR change how fast it drains while invis is active and keeping the 14.2% but honestly i think is better to just change the 33% to something around the 20's% OR replace the specialization like recon senses was replaced and keep invis as a gadget only.

Exactly this. DEVS, please take note. What we are asking for is absolutely meaningful in our own rights. Problem is people just find it hard to counter and not that invis is crutch or overpowered. Just bc it's hard to counter doesn't mean it needs a nerf. Turrets, mines, mesh, RPG, dome, charge n'slam, Fcar, sword, heal beam and a lot more things are hard to counter but we still enjoy the game without complaining right? Fact is some things will always be hard to counter but that doesn't mean we should just complain until it gets nerfed.
And also please be careful with stun, please don't launch this class into oblivion. It's already quite dead in here

I realize that balancing this game is made difficult by the abysmal difference of experience/perception between solo queue players and stacked team players. Who'd think CD is mandatory ? Solo Lights. Who'd think CD is too strong ? Any other solo player. A stacked team with coms won't suffer as much from invisible Lights, and their Light -if they have one- may not even need CD as much himself. And QC/ranked gameplay is also very different. So is it really possible to satisfy everyone ?

  4. Based on Power Shift experience. I was able to stay literally on the other side of the map killing everyone without being killed. New players don’t know how to deal with that.

PLEASE add better audio sliders. I'd like to hear my teammates through their quick chat comms via the dialogue, but i do not wanna hear the announcers while playing. I'm not sure why the dialogue option for the audio settings disables ALL forms of verbal dialogue. I'd rather hear the stadium announcers and not the two main announcers. PLEASE add more options for audio settings.

The cloak nerf feels ABSOLUTELY terrible. It was the only thing keeping light alive. Even dash mains cant survive without the invis grenade. You made the hardest and most disadvantaged class to play even harder to play.

These updates are so tone deaf and are making people leave the game. Recent changes like fcar recoil and mesh shield feel like lazy nerfs that arent really gonna change the meta of ape-ing people with 2 heavies. Start buffing weak things instead of nerfing the things that are working due to a vocal minority. You can tell the devs dont know what they are doing balance wise, they give all gadgets that countered cloak to light and removed recon and then nerf cloak? Makes no sense that they fix the problem they create

As a diamond light main I have to say this new nerf for cloak is terrible, I played a lot and from my perceptive I see that now cloak is no long a defense ability because whenever you get shot you can’t use invisible because it drains so fast that people start chasing you the entire time. Another thing is the was cloak was balanced before is what made the game fun for me and felt for the first time that I could actually compete with pc on the same level as them or even higher since pc has always had a advantage over every game but now that they nerfed cloak I feel there’s no longer have a edge as a high skilled player anymore. Another thing is now as a light you have less opportunity to help your team by doing damage because your either using all your cloak to run away and regain health or you only have enough health to get into 1 fight with someone. Putting a nerf on stun makes sense but putting a nerf on cloak I believe was bad move from devs and please consider reverting and keeping the player base that doesn’t say anything happy instead of listening to people who only dislike nerf because they don’t know how to counter it. If anyone else agrees with me please like this message so devs can see this.

revert the cloak activation nerf, nobody asked for it and the pain point has always been how inconsistent it is to track down - between visibility being determined by hardware to some extent and the fact that the audio cue sometimes just doesn't play in stereo if at all - this nerf just serves to make the ability less interesting and far worse in combat situations, the former being much more damning

There should be more ways to killing your enemies. This game has become a simple shooter. Shit in this has either been nerfed, or removed; more nerfs will come. I insist that a health buff and weapon buff should be introduced. Light is going to be dirt with these next updates. People are just gonna run dash and sword.

Day 37 of me begging the devs to give heavy an M134 Minigun as a Specialization.

  • 200 Round magazine, ammo is restored two bullets every second, 100 seconds for a full reload.
  • 20 rounds per second, eleven damage a round, 220 DPS
  • Falloff begins at 30 meters down to six damage a shot at 50, but wide spread means the weapon becomes less effective past 10 meters even against larger targets
  • bullets do high damage to structures (should be breaking walls in 20-50 shots) allowing a mid-range option to output mass destruction (destroying entire walls on higher floors of buildings, ripping apart nesting sightlines)
    • significant damage to structures and players
    • gun can be pre-spooled with RMB over having an ADS (for obvious reasons, you try to aim down the sights of a water cooler)|
    • high suppressive force through sheer amount of bullets being fired
    • its a goddamn minigun
  • - Heavy cannot jump or sprint while holding it, has to switch back to primary
  • - lengthy equip-unequip time to balance such, no ā€œpocket minigunā€ strats, choosing to use this is a commitment
  • - gun has to spool up for a second before firing, spool up being LOUD

Every game that how you call that ā€œruins skill expressionā€ do that in casual game modes and they have ranked game modes, where only pure skill matters. Casuals are playing casual game modes and competitive greedy players are playing competitive game modes. But the most important that they are playing the same game! And when they meet each other in casual game mode cracked gamers are still better, but not as much as it could be, so no one in disadvantage. Newcomers should have place in this game to feel free to learn all the mechanics and gunplay. It would be good for everyone.

disconnecting in ranked match will stop you from being able to play the future rounds even if you rejoin and qualify you are kicked and suspended so your team is now just left as a duo... this needs fixed losing rank afterwards sure i can maybe understand but now hurting my teammates for this into future rounds kinda sucks

There is a bug that's been hunting since season 1 and it's that most of the times when I am carrying a box and drop it to deploy jump pad and immediately try to grab the box, it just automatically drops the box

(I even tested it without jumping and yet it was still the same thing)

Embark, if you don’t want The Finals to die out like Smash Legends, add a text chat asap. Lack of communication modes can absolutely destroy player retention. Not implementing text chat because or concerns over toxicity is kind of a stupid move, considering how many games notorious for their toxicity are still very much thriving.

I like the game and play it a lot, but i dont like that the map sys horizon is gettin used so often i got it for 24 matches in a row, and i would love it if private matches would be possible with 2 players so you can 1v1 with friends, a way to implement that would be to host the server on the guys pc that starts the match

Finding a game in EU servers on xbox is almost impossible without crossplay on...taking over 5 minutes for any mode.
Crossplay one means playing against PC players who are way stronger thanks to mouse and keyboard...

Please stop listening to absolutely everything the community complains about, and think about balancing for yourself.

Everything is over-nerfed at this point. I thought the balance was in a pretty good state, and it was time for things to start receiving buffs, but we're still, somehow, not at that point yet.
