The reason AAA games don't have discord servers like this one is so people can't constantly bitch about everything to the devs. This discord is a noble thing, and listening to their community is good, but everyone is too self centered and wants everything but what they use to be weak, so they can easily win without having to use a percentage of their brain.

You only get a small window to capitalize on the hype of a new game to build a community. There are games released literally every day and existing games are always coming out with new updates. If most of the community are frustrated with things like recon and cheaters then you can't expect them to come back when those issues are finally addressed.

Not necessarily, just looking at the Steam charts there are many games that start out with <100k players for the first few years and they now have 24-hour peaks upwards of like 250k. I can only imagine a lot of people give it a chance for 2 games and dropping it immediately, only to return after X amount of months/years. If the game is better balanced by then they're likely to stay for longer.
I've had the same in the past with other F2P games. I played APB Reloaded during the open beta which sucked at that time, only to return 2 years later and play it religiously for a couple of years. I had a similar experience with CS:GO a few years ago and with Heroes & Generals until it got taken down. Only game I've played from release and never really quit for a few years is PUBG.
What I'm saying is that there's no guarantee anyone who quits right now because of improper balance won't come back at all. I'd even go as far as to say anyone quitting now because of the lack of balance is likely to come back as soon as the problems are fixed.

I said you can't expect them to come back. Sure the rare game does recover but that's not the norm.
For every Rainbow Six Siege or Apex Legends there's at least ten of The Cycle Frontier, Hyperscape, Halo Infinite, Gears 5 etc that had a chance at a bigger audience, fumbled the bag and never got that chance again.
There are outliers for everything but outliers aren't the norm and shouldn't be relied upon. For the most part your success is obtained in the first couple of months before the public moves on.

While its true Embark is oddly silent with us, this response is more than likely just from the CM's. Which is different than people actually working on the game (CM's are important too, please don't ban me ily). They can't talk on Embarks behalf like we'd want them to. It's not the CM's fault that this is the best response we'll get either.

This would stop the indefinite spam scanning which would help nerf the spawn tracking, camping, and chasing abuse of the ability.
This doesn't remove or over-alter the ability, but instead helps balance it while keeping it's style and function.
Of course you're not necessarily expecting these people to come back, but as there's not really another game like The Finals they're likely to come back once the issues they were having with the game have been resolved. Players who didn't like Halo Infinite could get their Halo fix from the Master Chief Collection. If even games like Battlefield 2042 can suddenly get 20k more players after an update almost 2 years after its release, I don't think The Finals has a problem if they fix the biggest issues within lets say 2 to 3 months after release.
All the "fix it now or it'll be dead tomorrow" comments are blown way out of proportion. Of course the game loses players in the first few months after release as almost nobody is able to play the same single game for months at a time. People lose interest in shiny new things pretty quickly. As long as everyone who enjoys (or enjoyed) the game is still interested in it and comes back every few months there's not going to be a problem. I have often taken a 1 to 3 month break from a game when I get fed up with it but if I enjoyed the game before that I'm almost guaranteed to get back into it after that.
In my opinion the game is good. Concept solid. Pace is great. But balancing needs tweaking.
Heavy, is almost there tbh the most balanced out of all. I think the dome needs a rework. Canāt understand why the can shoot out of it and also the mesh. But if I push the dome and am in it I canāt shoot out of it yet they can shoot into it. The flame thrower is a little OP. If a light or medium canāt get out of the flame I think there is a problem but that just maybe a skill issue. It has a pretty good balance of nerfing other classes and being solid offensively.
The medium is OP everyone understands this. The guns are balancedish but thatās just tweaking. The riot shield is annoying I just personally think itās stupid to have in any game but thatās just my personal gripe. I donāt understand why the recon senses is there. Maybe a quick snapshot of what is around but not to the extent we have now. It is really the only deterrent to lights cloak but there is nothing that combats recon. Maybe a warning like the sonar grenade? Itās tough to fix.
The Light gadgets are well balanced except I am not sure how the det charge weighs the same as a c4 for ānukesā I think it helps a little with pre engagement so to give it the same nerf was a bit too far. The dagger and knives I think dmg needs to be bought down they are only knives anyway.(headshots excluded) I the shotguns for all classes are okay I just think there needs to be a longer reload time and less dmg points at distances..
The lag on servers is annoying and packet loss.. Not sure if this is worldwide or just Asia and OCE.
I still havenāt been able to play a ranked game. I heard there was a bug for console players in my region where you wonāt find a game but Iām not sure if itās confirmed or there just arenāt enough players.(yes I put cross play on)

Many of the updates/hot fixes have fixed a lot of the performance issues. Itās an early game on UE5 which is why the performance dropped compared to the beta (UE4). Itās bound to get better, just takes times.
My response wasn't only directed at the CM's. It's directed at their overall almost no-communication decision. No communication is almost always a worse way to go down than to communicate. There are tons of studies that prove effective open stakeholder (in this case us - the gamers) communication can more often than not lead to better understanding and willingness to accept certain changes/problems etc.
It baffles me how public communication is still such an underused tool in so many companies.
@edgy ivy No one asks the devs themselves to respond to us. There are however people, for example community managers, that can fill that role if they have been given the info and permission to share details on progress, future plans and reasoning behind decisions.

-37% of the player base according to steam charts is insane to me, this game had such potential and unfortunately the devs are working on important stuff but not the most important.
Things that needs to be fixing in order to save the game:
SBMM / cheating, i cant stress how important this is, the game is just not fun when i in silver get matched against diamonds all the time. I play mostly duo/solo and have in the last 2 days queued with 3 cheaters, 2 of them had blatant no recoil scripts beaming people across the map, and 1 of them had clear wallhacks (he knew where every1 was even though he had the turret build), i can't imagine how many cheaters are playing in ranked and not getting banned.
Either upgrade your kernel anticheat to a ring 0 like valorant or something or add an overwatch system like cs2 or hell just add a replay system where you can watch if the guy against you is hacking/really good/smurfin or whatever.
give me a button to view the loadout of my teammates during the game. I usually forgot who has what or worst, I forget to see them in the 30 seconds pre match. Also, let us see the scoreboard (tab key) during the presentation, to do some planning of which team has the double heavy of doom and remember to use the APS asap

How I see recon:
Recon to me is a information gathering skill, making you see teams across the map. It was deign that you can only see the teams if they were behind a wall or you. And able to see across the map.
Nerfing or fix:
I feel like the main problem right now is that you can brainlessly kind of use it off and not. No really critical thinking about using it at all.
My thoughts what nerf should be place:
I would say that to decrease the time to takes to gain back full āenergyā of recon. Making it slower.
Increasing the ādrain of energy/Timeā of recon.
And increasing a bit of activation.

This would make players have to think critically to use recon or not. To carefully pick if they wanted to use it now or later. Rather then just easily turning it off and on for every situation. Possible soutions to replace the aim assist patch:

They disable crossplay entirely and have 2 different builds of the game. This would be a nuclear option not recommended.

@fossil walrus Street Fighter, Tekken, and Counter Strike are 20+ year old games that have well established fanbases and mechanics tailored for their own style of gameplay. Does Counter Strike and Valorant play EXACTLY alike? Do you have mesh shields in Counter Strike? What about Tekken and Street Fighter? I guess they play exactly the same don't they? There's absolutely no difference in fighting games and their mechanics because ALL fighting games have to be exactly the same right? I guess Valorant and Counter Strike are the exact same game because there's absolutely no room for difference in gaming right?
To make the quests easier, here's an idea. instead of having a hard target like 1500 melee damage. give us options to choose 4 out of 8 quest to do. Or have alternative quest like either do 1500 melee damage or do 1200 ranged weapon damage.

Make recon sense color blobs squiggle like Hunt showdown does for darksight. Or make it a directional ability not a global ability, sort of like bloodhound. CD doesn't mean anything when the actual functionality of recon is so busted.
More and more of my ranked friends have stopped playing thanks to Recon/Defib in every single ranked game. Do something about it before you lose even more players

Nerfing Recon by making the range shorter and forcing the user to hold an iPad up to their face (same animation as inspecting the jump pad) and only being able to see through walls with the iPad like itās using a camera may help.
This would decrease the FOV while using recon and make it so you cannot have your gun out while using it. This stops corner pre firing too. Adding a movement penalty while using is an optional addition.

I'm not on the UE5 topic. They were going to update at some point regardless. UE5 is just actually better for them, though I'm not saying you're wrong and that we don't have performance issues. They totally needed more time to flesh out moving from 4 to 5.

watching my girlfriend play severally bugged match, she waited ages for next match to start and it did not start, after a client restart, it reconnected to the match and now the game UI is all fced up. It now shows that there are 5 teams playing
BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here's some suggestions, I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:
-While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
-Lunge distance (90% of the fight become a chase you can't win, the other classes have ways to block enemies, slow them down or catch up to them, even heavies have RPG to finish people off if they use sledge)
-Add a slow down effect after being hit by the shield, nothing too crazy just a small reduction to movement speed and the effect should only last 500ms max (Same reason as above, medium lack ways to finish people off or catch up to them, this would prevent infinite chases, also this slow down would only work on medium and heavies, light can still run away)
-Increase damage from 84 to 90 (to kill heavies in 4 hits instead of 5)
-Add a charge like attack, to activate it press the attack button while blocking kinda like charge N slam, of course less powerful and without the destruction effect, it would add variety, also all the other melee weapons have two attacks)

- I actually agree with this. Our contestants are totally capable of not being slow while simply holding a shield up.
- The sword has this, but it's not too useful to actually catch up on people. It's more of a surprise attack. If you want your alt power slam you can't have this as well. It would just be a lunge alt attack (which might actually work well with the shield, maybe too well tho, would be fun to test out either way).
- God no. Please for the love of God why. A melee weapon that slows you? With the mediums health and kit? That would be insanely good.
- Not sure how I feel about this one. Wouldn't mind it changed just to see how it plays but 4 hits feels a bit.. too little for a heavy. Again, wouldn't mind it tested though.
- This is the only really odd and bad one. Similarly to the lunge, this gives someone with frontal damage immunity the ability to very, very quickly push into somome. This one seems way more OP though, you're getting way too much potential damage and push-ability for simply pressing a button. The swords lunge is annoying but it's nothing like a charge and slam attack. And the knife is literally just a backstab. Things that those tools are just capable of normally. An alt attack where you shield bash to push someone (and maybe do some damage) would fit way better than this or a lunge. It should not be a second ability for the M's kit.

i think the melee weapons should be nerfed, or honestly removed. they promote being toxic and sweaty and are just not a good addition to the game. normal melee that everyone gets is enough
The fanbases of mp games in general are toxic because it's anonymous and online. It's always been that way. The competitive community have to be creative to make the meta in the first place. Some of it comes from the casual scene but most of the crazy stuff you never see except in competitive environments. That's why you don't have a problem with recon like most people do. The people in your quickplay lobbies are likely rarely using it.

Online play just tends to be some level of toxic. Going into a competitive playlist is actively seeking out people who want to crush other people. So yes, comp is much more toxic. Mostly when you're not playing with a set team you work well with. Randoms will just hate you. Welcome to the internet.
However, using data from the top players, listening to their feedback, is not the same as listening to the comp scene as a whole. These people play the game far more than you or I ever could, and understand it much better. If they offer criticism it should be noted down and probably listened to. I say this as a casual player like you. Many of them even make videos breaking down why certain things work/don't work and go into it a LOT. They're actively testing out each and every way to get a one-up on everyone else, and doing a great job at it. They know what's broken and what's not. The top players are the best test case for the game. General ranked players are not. The later doesn't mean they simply shouldn't listen to ranked players, that's absurd.
You're also just assuming every single person saying something needs to be changed in ranked is like us here going "lol remove recon." We get it, you don't like change and don't want the wallhack gone (even thought you TOTALLY don't use it and it would only make the game more fair for you). That's not even close to what critiques they offer (and have been offering since beta play). Top players are still more valuable than you, and comparing the top 100 or even 500 to just the "competitive fanbase" is moronic.

Fire alarm: By shooting the fire alarm handles placed throughout the building, you turn on alarms and water sprinklers that distort view when standing under it. The sprinklers also clear out any fire/gas/smoke that could be present.

We need to have a better feel of enemies in our proximity.
The player's footsteps need to be muffled a bit more.
Teammate's footsteps could also be muffled, but not that much.
Generally though, enemy footsteps should be made louder, as well as pitch shifted so you'd have a general idea what class the enemy has. Light could also have quieter, while Heavy louder footstep sounds. Landing sounds should be included as well.
Enemy team quips, social quips and other voices could be made audible for the player, plus, maybe not as hard as Deep Rock Galactic, but the voices could be pitch-shifted too to match the class they represent. (Although DRG style pitching would be hilarious.)
Getting a leaver in ranked mode is awful. Fastest way to lose rank in this game. I shouldn't be heavily penalized because I'm fighting 2v3v3v3, it's incredibly unfair.

remove recon, the solution isn't finding a new way to balance seeing through walls, the problem is the fact of SEEING THROUGH WALLS. No matter if its 30 second CD or see for a split moment. Sonar grenade is justified since its at a certain radius and only pings location every few seconds.
There's no point of having a second version of a Sonar grenade when you already get two of it in your equipment bar?
Not to mention you grief your team if you don't communicate/ping locations. You're practically playing for yourself. Remove Recon. Final answer.

Its the overall ability that is busted in its current form. I know we both agree on that since you accept that it needs changing. The part that makes it op is not that it gives you infermation about the enemy in a broad sense, it's that it gives you so much and so accurate information and readily available at basically any time.
Even if we changed it to being toggleable, like you suggest, it would only mean that all that accurate information would be available slightly less often. It would be a nerf but imo it would be too little to adress the core problem of it - the quality of the information you can get.
It's mostly problematic because of the range, and how the enemies are permanently visible through walls while it is active. No one is loosing their mind over recon nades since they only pulse. Pulses give you a static visual of what happened at that particular second the pulse hit. Everything afterwards is open to interpretation, game sense and predicting enemy movement. It's a good mixture between information gathering and still needing skill to turn it into a positive outcome for yourself.
If players are continously highlighted it takes all the need for game sense and prediciting movement out of the equation. That's where the problem lies. That's why making it non-toggleable is not a solutin but a poorly made bandaid.

Another thing is that stuff like goo gun and barricades and mines etc all require careful placement. They require skill and there's ways to use them wrong that might even do more harm than good. Recon doesn't require skill, doesn't require careful placement. You just tap Q and get free wallhacks whenever you want, prefire people, call out everyone's position and spawn point. There is no skill ceiling to using it, besides maybe managing it more efficiently if you're spamming it too often.
In Apex all abilities have a direct cone/area they follow, and cannot be used at excessive range (e.g, Bloodhounds tact only goes so far, somewhat reveals his location, and alerts you of the scan). Overwatch is mostly similar from what I remember climbing rank years ago. Some busted, but its not on the level of recon senses. The only difference between me installing an ESP and using recon is that recon goes on cooldown. Overwatch and Apex are also drastically different games. Their "aim-bot" abilities are not on the same level as cheats either, like recon is. They have range limitations or LOS limitations, as well as not just instantly one shotting you from across the map with an LMG like people cheating with the Lewis.
Once again, your points in this regard still don't work the way you think they do.

Replacing recon with thermal vision would be great. Medium should have one offensive spec, and thermal would be perfect - give them better visual clarity, can counter invis, but not wallhack. Recon is busted and dramatically reduces all non-aim related skill expression in the game.
I have an idea, more like wishful thinking but, I feel like the heavy's biggest downside is lack of mobility. Sure they have the charge n' targe ability, but I feel that possibly a gadget like the zipline launcher would be reasonable for the heavy. i think that light would be more suited for recon nades and medium would be a better fit for the motion sensors, light is a flanker that isnāt really able to hold positions so the motion sensors donāt see any use, but with recon nades it would be able to pick fights better and scout for the team by giving useful information, and with motion sensors mediums would have an easier time holding points especially in conjunction with mines/turrets etc. (this suggestion is only for the gadgets and entirely unrelated to whatever recon sense changes are planned)

Those game are different in gameplay, but that doesn't mean it can't work in THE FINALS.

Bro I have an i9 and a 4070 in my laptop (which I keep propped up for airflow) and I had to stop playing because of how insanely hot my CPU got. It's a 2023 ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 which has solid thermals. Absolutely insane that they shipped the game in this state

Innovation means improving on the original concept. Not adjusting until it makes sense. heavy's shields can be destroyed. Light's invis can be canceled when shot. Recon can't be countered ever and reduce usage time doesn't fix that for other classes.
Until you can make a point on how Recon is intuitive gameplay for your team and match and not for themselves, you make no points, ever.

the same could quite literally be said for the cloaking device. both should be nerfed in some way but the cloaking device is a way bigger issue in my opinion.
against the recon sense you still have time to react and fight back because you can see the enemy and a quick reaction time wins you the fight, while with the cloaking device you have someone you wont see or hear while shit is blowing up and get 2 tapped by a double barrel with no chance of countering it (other than recon sense or sonar grenades).
if we nerf the recon sense we need to nerf the cloaking device so that they work balanced together.
if you buff the cloaking device you should buff ways to unveil cloakers.
it has almsot never happened that me or my friends have complained while playing that a guy was using recon. now guess now often i hear people complain and get 2 tapped by a cloaker?

@quick coyote Cloaking isn't bigger at all. It can be countered by many things. Flamethrowers, canisters, being shot at, Sonar grenade, Recon. Once caught, they don't have the mobility or the lifespan to get out of there alive.
The only counter to a Recon as you said is reaction time... in other words, hopefully they miss their shots and you hit yours. That isn't much of a skill if you're relying on luck.

reaction time is very much skill based and if you aren't able to see the brightly colored outline, flick or smth it is just a skill issue.
yes the guy using recon sense has an advantage over you in the specific situation but that is what gadgets and abilities are for. if you want to remover every advantage give everyone the same guy, the same class, the same abilities, the same setting. the problem with the cloaking device is that it gives you a too big advantage or even unfair advantage by being invisible. pairing that with the double barrel and sword (stuff that 2 taps you) is just god awful.
make the cloaking device more visible, the audio effect more noticeable, increased cooldown or more limited use.
if you thinking seeing someone's rough outline through a wall is unfair but think being pretty much fully invisible and inaudible in the heat of battle isn't, you need to really get your shit straight.

flame thrower and shooting them is reactive, but that takes too long if they can double-tap you
sonar and recon are preventative, you need to use them before the light attacks
but you cant know when the cloaked light will attack, that's it whole point
so the only way they do work is if you randomly throw them around, hoping to catch the light
but then you're on cooldown half the time and the light can just walk around sonar grenades

Your points on why the counters I mention won't work is just a skill issue. Might as well say "You can't counter heavy shields with glitch grenade because what if you miss?" If counters were guaranteed, there would be no point to have a skill cap in a game.
You're missing the big picture with recon. It can counter a Light invis, but it can counter everything else too. You can't run far away enough, can't hide, cant burrow and camp down.
The difference between the counters on invis that I mentioned and yours with Recon, is that mine require some skill and team effort to take invis down. Recon does not.

It can still be a powerful information tool and be used sparingly in combat.
It's a viable teamplay tool if used with communication.

I think the cloak is extremely close to being balanced, and it only needs a few slight tweaks to itself and it's surrounding meta.
It needs a slight adjustment to it's activation and cooldown, but it needs to stay togglable.
The shimmer while moving is fine, but maybe they could make the shimmer for standing still be the same as movement.
It needs a louder audio cue while moving and the SFX of the game in general need to be fixed.
That would help with audio and visual location of a cloak without changing the overall function of it.
The biggest problem is double barrel which needs a nerf to it's range and a longer reload time.
This will make it so they have to be extremely close and take a bigger risk for the elimination.
If they miss their shots they'll have to suffer the reload time. It will take more skill to use and make it risky.
The AA nerf helped a little with controller locking heads with the double barrel.
This will help balance out the tactic of meta play without absolutely changing the style of gameplay.

man, how can you see anything with TAAU or whatever upscaler you're using that smothers the screen in vaseline. If you have an Nvidia card, I recommend turning on DLSS and setting it to DLAA. If I was to guess, I'd say the cloak is between your dead team mate and your alive team mate, but there's so much dithering everywhere. Also, taking one frame is a lot harder to spot, than seeing the dude run around with the shimmer. I generally have no trouble spotting cloaks ASSUMING I heard him first.

I gotta say, in terms of the most problematic balance issues. This game has done a good job of jumping on those relatively quickly. Balance changes are always a great thing to have, but there are definitely other things that would be great to have addressed. The audio engine is the biggest one for me. It's just so inconsistent. In one game, it feels like you can hear every random enemy sound cue like defibs across the entire map for some reason. But then you can't hear any enemy footsteps that are so much closer to you and you just die because of it. For a competitive game, that's kind of important. The game also desperately needs custom games. There are so many little interactions and strategies that are just very hard to consistently nail down when you don't have the ability to practice them freely. Whether they're map specific, or require things like the cashbox. The practice range just doesn't fill that needs. Another minor thing, the scoreboard needs some tweaking. You should 100% be able to see a player's class even when they're dead. if I'm playing solo, both teammates are down (and they're not on mic.) Knowing which class they are is kind of important info when it comes to which one I want to focus on reviving. It would also be nice if you could at least see your teammate's loadout at any given point. Maybe the enemies' too? But that's definitely a maybe.

theres a serious bug in the game right now where any detached object (including trophies and the vault) can clip under the ground and stay there.
also, if a jump pad or other activated deployable is placed under someone, it wont register as active until that person fully steps off of the equipment.

I noticed there's a bug where if you cancel your queue right before finding a match you get a suspension after the match for "abandoning the match" even though you still got put into the match and never left it. It happened twice to me so far.
I mean, with the state the game is in, lots of people have already done this.
@quick coyote yeah I noticed that with the jump pad too, if you place it directly under you, you have to jump to get it to bounce you. I think if you place it under people it should send them flying, then the bounce pad could be used defensively too lol.

the overwatch arguement is completely invalid because the game was miserable when people were hero stacking. them getting rid of hero stacking is objectively the best update they ever did to overwatch. you cant ever convince me people thought fighting triple pharmacy was "unique and innovative" or fighting 5 reinhardts and a lucio. character stacking has and always will be boring and infuriating. Recon might be able to stay around as is but we've gotta do something about it's uptime.
It's too strong of an ability to be able to toggle it on and off whenever you want.

Also defib invulnerability is kinda lame. It shouldn't be a valid strat to just defib someone mid fight and have them kill the attacker while invincible.

There were multiple characters to choose from, but you would get bullied for not picking a certain class or meta.
You were extremely limited still because of the toxicity of teammates and class options.
This is happening now in THE FINALS even without Role Lock.
If you try playing as a light class in ranked, you will be bullied and seen as "tossing" the match.
If you don't carry defibs as a medium and pick either heal beam or recon, you will be bullied for "tossing" the match.
Toxic competitive players love to complain about the current meta, but will bully anyone who doesn't use the current meta.
Role Lock would be fine as an optional choice.
This game deserves multiple modes and variations of them.

I mentioned making barrels one shot basically, and easier to hit with a slightly bigger hitbox.
This helps nerf the nuke tactic further without continuing to debilitate C4.

maybe this isnt what youre talking about, but that mechanic is already implimented strategically in tournament. your secondary goal should always be to keep third/second place wiped
The aim assist should stay where it's at, they still have 35% magnetism and aim snapping on rifles (which might need looked at). Having snapping on snipers/shotguns is so crazy broken and 50% magnetism was also stupid. You should not get the same level of aim as a PC player that has to use their fingers and arm to aim on a controller just because of some software. Aim-assist is soft cheats that raises the skill floor of controller players so that the worst console aimer is better than the worst PC aimer, and if it is turned up too high it gives controller players inhuman levels of accuracy that isn't achievable on mnk. If you do not have fun because your soft cheats aren't strong enough then that's a skill issue, I don't care if you're not "having fun" because aim assist isn't strong enough to compensate for your potato aim.

So in the recent update they removed mnk support from XBOX and they knew there a lot people asking for mnk on console. They donāt want to support the game with mouse and keyboard while we playing with/against pc players?!!

REWORK RECON IDEAS
1 - Nerf) Instead of toggable on demand wallhacks, you have charges (just like light's dash) which you use to see where enemies are through walls just like current recon, but only the static image of where they where at the time of activation for a brief amount of time.
2- Completely new) Use a tablet just like the other gadget tablets (example jumpad tablet) that on activation shows you the map and an indication of where everyone is on it. Not wallhacks and you can't know pinpoint which elevation your enemies are, to have some sort of counterplay potential.

Leaving a game shouldn't count as a Lost in the "Performance" tab stats basically don't matter and no one can see them but they skew the actual statistics, more statistics would be appreciated too. wins and loses with all classes for example.
Not having a text chat on a game of this caliber is an embarrassment, make it hidden by default like voice chat, people are gonna be toxic, chat or not, there are countless of players that don't use VC either because they cant, don't have one or cant speak English very well, their only means of communications are removed.
Not having MnK on console is dumb when you have crossplay ON by default, simply flag them as PC users and remove the option of turning off crossplay when using MnK
Matchmaking shouldn't make you play with people WAY above or below your level, Solo players should queue with duos and other solo players, 3 stacks should play vs other 3 stacks and duos, maybe not doable in ranked, understandable, but is totally doable in Quick cash and bank it.
Medium is Too good and has way too much utility, Light has no team utility whatsoever and cant perform his job properly vs a coordinated team.
Allow us to rearrange the contestants in the selection screen.
Fire in general needs a buff, is just way worse than gas in every way, the only reason people run fire gadgets is because it removes gas.
Revolver shouldn't have such terrible accuracy, FCAR, AK and Lewis are overturned.
APs turret shouldn't remove the grenades from the CL-40 and MGL42, they pretty much make it so you don't have a weapon so your only option is to run to the enemy and bash it to death, they also shouldn't destroy projectiles through walls
Invisibility and Recon are inherently toxic to the game, you cant remove one without the other, my proposal is to make them a single use before going into cooldown, recon should work like sonar nades instead. Written by Whale Chud

That's not why. Mouse input didn't have aim assist unless you were using something like a xim, but then your console would just think it's a controller anyways. It's simply to keep console players on controllers.

I encountered a bug just a while ago. My team mates both disconnected. I ended up alone. Finished first round second in Ranked and qualified. When I was waiting for round two it never let me in. I just saw the counters running for the round two and never actually made it in the game. And now it says it penalized me because I quit the game

Idea to buff grenade launchers, another underused and mostly useless weapon.
Make it so they do insane damage to shields. Then they have a purpose. Currently they are just blocked by shields non stop and they do very little damage. Since you have just 4 or 6 nades, takes ages to bring a shield down.
Then you have APS turret that blocks them. That has to be removed imo.
Im not sure that aps should work through walls it just doesnt make sense

You plug your mouse and keyboard into a xim > your mouse and keyboard are registered as a controller and the game will only see it as a controller.
You can still do this even with mnk input disabled. The console thinks its a controller, not a mouse and keyboard. Disabling/enabling mnk support has no effect on this.
A xim is a device you plug into your console that tricks it (then plug a mouse/keyboard in it), not just using a mnk setup on a console.
This is a problem in every console game. Disabling mnk is just done to stop console players from having an advantage over other console players using a controller. They can't do much about a xim user though.

Recon Senses needs to be made non-togglable with a 30 second cooldown and a louder audio cue.
This would stop the indefinite spam scanning which would help nerf the spawn tracking, camping, and chasing abuse of the ability.

Not really. Plenty of other games have turrets but close to none have recon. The reason why is because recon is typically called āwall hacksā and that would normally be ācheating ā . And no other game has recon with so much uptime. Also turret has counters in glitch grenade, recon doesnāt

It's both, actually (its Cronus btw). They're two different input adapters. There's more than just these two, too. Some are console specific (or just on pc), some aren't. To go further, some even have extra features like recoil pattern controls (this is partly why Fortnite could probably detect a Cronus). Xim is just more commonly known when referring to adapters.

Balance class HP thresholds by increasing light HP by 25 and reducing heavy HP by 25, can make the heavy class a tiiny bit faster and sliiightly less hitbox as some QoL (honestly the model itself could probably be improved) and make the light class a little less tiny.
If HP nerf to heavy would be too harsh for what the devs want from that class, I still recommend increasing light's hp to 175 so that they can survive just a bit more. There are so many sources of damage and light class often can get absolutely deleted, no amount of positioning will save you from quickly being lasered, the other classes have a more enjoyable amount of survivability to them.
Also, rework recon and remove invis.

Recon does not provide those. Its just fun to the user. It does nothing to benefit the team, only yourself. If you consider pinging, what does it matter if the whole team can just play all Medium recons.. ?

I agree, I have no intention of defending recon and also believe it needs significant changes if not a complete rework. However I disapprove of people defending cloak just because the light isn't particularly strong in ranked. Cloak is an ability which a fair sized portion of the player base dislike strongly I think there should just as much discussion for adjustments to cloak regardless of how it holds up in comp. Other areas should be looked into to buff the light class.

As a Light main, i never partically felt strong with invis. I felt the fear if someone sees me, im good as dead where i stand. In fact i feel this is something a light can only understand. Though i never felt threatened as a recon since i knew where everyone was at.
But if it really bothers every class, they can just change the Light's invis ability to how Halo's camo works: The slower you move, the more clear you are. The faster you move, the more visible you become.
I also just realised and want to point out that Halo also had their version of recon, and everyone despised it-- extra point on why seeing through walls is unbalanced.

-Make METEOR SHOWER and ALIEN INVASION have more of an impact in the game, they barely change anything from the game, could make it so the UFO's pick up beam gives players in it have less gravity and maybe make the UFO's turret shots have the Glitch effect. And could make it so you actually should seek for cover during Meteor Shower (or just add more meteors).
-Make ranked actually be ranked, matchmaking you against people from your rank, one rank below you or one rank above you.
And finally, rework Recon Senses.
Just reducing the duration of it won't make it, maybe make it something like a walking Sonar Grenade (that enemies can't see and teammates can't see detected teammates), or just change it for something totally new.
Currently Recon Senses is NOT fitting and healthy for the game.

Turrets are the only reason why there arent more recon Users lol. Healing isnt that good if you are gonna be a lone wolf, recon and a turret is. And based on how many people solo queue im glad that turrets are strong as they are even if i hate to play against those

Turret tracking does break, just try putting a turret between the gaps of the panels at the firing range.
And they only 360 if you shoot at them. Otherwise they just sweep the cone infront of them. In fact, if you move perfectly and avoid the sweeping lasers you could be infront of the turret and not get hit

The player count has yet to stabilize even 2+ months after release. Most games that aren't player/co-op stabilize within the first 3 weeks, but the finals have been consistently declining every single day.
The developers seem inexperienced, likely having never worked on any other game before. Despite investing 700 hours and participating in all closed and open betas (Diamond in all), each patch brings minimal balancing improvements, if any at all.
Practically every random player I team up with despises nukes and threatens to quit if they aren't removed. Even after the nerf, they remain unbalanced. Slowing them down has only made it easier to hit targets due to predictable detonation timing. Using APS turrets is ineffective, as Embark has made the c4 range to over 20+ meters, rendering them useless.
The term "skill issue" is often used by those who refuse to acknowledge the game's decline or heavily favor certain playstyles. Light units are ineffective, and I can't recall the last time one genuinely posed a threat to me.
Medium recon is dumb and overpowered, though not as much as heavy units, which are simply overwhelming. Despite any arguments, the statistical evidence is overwhelmingly against you. The game's demise seems imminent, and I doubt the team possesses the necessary competence to make meaningful changes.
The addition of the heavy unit itself wasn't a mistake. The mistake was creating an arsenal with excessively high DPS explosive capabilities, which simply doesn't fit into the game. The game prides itself on its long time-to-kill (TTK), which is what players appreciate. However, when you're constantly being hit by nuclear-level attacks four times per game, the long TTK ceases to exist, and the game becomes frustrating to play.
How can players be expected to enjoy themselves when the only class that offers a fighting chance is the heavy class?
Tournament still forces you into a match without any teammates when solo queue... How is this fair?

Everyone complains about recon and nukes and yea theyāre a bit strong, but not because of what they do. I donāt see anyone running smokes to counter recon, nor do I see people carrying/quick placing aps or running goo grenades to deal with nukes. If the game is designed as a rock paper scissors game, if everyone plays rock and no one plays paper then rock is going to seem completely broken. Theyāre āstrongā because itās much easier to play nuke or turn on recon than remembering to pick up a smoke canister or picking goo grenade.

Are you expecting people to be in smoke 24/7? Across the map when they don't even know the enemy is watching them? Around EVERY single corner? Blinding themselves if they don't have a thermal light?
You can kill someone with the AOE of the nuke even near an APS. Also, you're not going to be in range of an APS while moving between places or even in rooms while dealing with 2 or 3 other teams. Enjoy staying in the same 2m spot for the entire game to have a chance at ignoring a one-shot.

the games progression isn't enough. most of the people I play with have stopped because there's nothing to play for. there's no real ranked system, it doesn't show skill it just shows how many hours you play. once you hit lvl 40 and complete battle pass there's just nothing to play for.

so patch notes for 1.6 leaked and apparently they removed spread from the revolver when ADSing, but nerfed the damage from 74 to 50. So you guys actually make the gun not a piece of shit, but then immediately make it a piece of shit. like you guys couldn't have just removed the spread and then see how it goes eh? like you can't just make incremental changes, you always gotta go overboard? I really don't understand. At least recon sense is getting temporarily removed from the game, you guys should just forget about it after.

Yeah it was a thing before (though not intended) but it was removed due to it being unfair, someone could just turn off crossplay and be using M&K in console.

can anyone tell me how to get better FPS. I am playing on 1440p epic settings on DLSS balance/peformance/quality all do this behavior. I have a FTW3 3080 and 3700X CPU. My GPU is 60% usage and my CPU is like 70% usage and both stay around this ratio and my FPS is about 75 on avg... why is it not using more GPU? it has some room in CPU and CPU does not hit 100% I don't get how to get it to use more to get better FPS when it seems like both have little more to give.

yeah for the most part I agree, I'm not sure about the grapple though (grapple main), extra charge with double the cool down. It just needed the cooldown reduced by 3 seconds. I feel like they just type a bunch of values in somewhere and call it a day, like do they even test these things? the revolver is going to do 100 damage to the head now, instead of 148 so it'll still take 2 headshots to kill a light and 3 body shots, but now 5 body shots for medium instead of 4, and 3 headshots instead of 2, 7 body shots on heavy instead of 5 and 4 headshots instead of 3. So you literally cannot kill a heavy with the revolver without hitting a headshot, or needing to reload.
And still no love for throwing knives.

nah, seem pretty on brand for embark. revolver TTK on heavy right now is like 2.4 seconds on body shot (best case scenario). After the patch will be like 5.4 with body shots (cuz reload) gj embark, kinda had the right idea but then completely ruined it. I'm legit uninstalling the game if they nerf the revolver damage.

same I've lost most trust, but if this patch comes out with revolver damage nerfed, then I've completely lost trust. I'm still iffy about the grapple, I think the 2nd charge but double the cool down will make it worse, unless it just means 10 seconds for each charge, then that might not be too bad.
@placid valley I've just been playing medium revolver and a bit of heavy sledge/goo gun for the memes, but definitely haven't been playing as much as I used to. Since I prefer light, and lights are just getting destroyed left and right currently.

The patch notes aren't real (almost certainly). It's comical to imagine that the devs would just accidentally expose an endpoint that points to unreleased patch notes. That's what a junior high programmer would do who just learned Python. We're talking about a game development company with pretty deep pockets. They have cream of the crop developers. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this aint real. There are strict source control measures in place to prevent this. It's a 1 in a million scenario.

the throwing knives deal great damage but the problem comes from the clunkiness of the projectiles and the inconsistency of their behavior.
some things that could be done to resolve this issue:
šŖ slightly reduce projectile drop off
šŖ slightly increase projectile speed
šŖ tighten spread of knives while sliding/sprinting/mid-air (as theyāre wildly inaccurate currently, it almost feels unintended)
šŖ allow right click to be held
šŖ tweak animations to feel more impactful, they feel very weak. almost if you're throwing spoons š„

What? Last patch was 1 week ago. Considering any changes have to be discussed, approved, actually developed, tested and compiled into the live game one (or even two) weeks isn't bad actually... Probably not as easy as "changing some numbers around" in case of recon senses either.
Changes take time and I'd rather not have them rush it and have the change be playable rather than it being quick and still broken.
And yet they need to get it out soon or the game is going to lose a lot of momentum. The mediums are grotesquely overrepresented in the game right now and their kit seems to generate some of the most stagnant, frustrating, and boring gameplay.
The last patch was truly surprising in how it didn't even touch FCAR or Recon. Both are incredibly overtuned, especially with both on the same class. Certainly with the other nerfs that got passed out to the already less-played classes, it seems like significant oversight that Mediums didn't see some adjustment at the same time.
So that would've been the slow, considered approach - since it didn't happen they're going to have to get something else out pretty soon, or lots of us are likely putting it down for a while (not good in the first month after launch, just FYI).

@vernal girder I absolutely agree with you, but we still need to be realistic. You can't change these kinds of things overnight without the risk of breaking even more things. I've vouched for changes to the FCAR and Recon senses because both are broken at the moment. Before last patch the FCAR and Recon weren't the biggest problems IMO, but since the balance changes made in the last patch these two were "suddenly" even more overpowered. The problems with these were mostly overshadowed by the nukes before that patch.
For the record: I'd say the FCAR needs let's say 1 or 2 more shots to kill and a slightly bigger mag size to "counter" that change. This would likely still make the FCAR better than the AK at longer ranges, while making it worse at shorter ranges, which makes mediums have the choice to focus on short or longer range engagements by weapon choice.
Recon senses, IMO, could be fixed by making it a sonar grenade-like pulse, so no constant live feed of players' locations with 2 or 3 charges. This way you can only see where people are at a certain time and not follow the path they're travelling through an entire building. Game should, in this case, also show when you're being detected by the recon senses.
Another option to balance it is to increase the range within which the recon senses doesn't show a clear outline of the player. So >70m = clear outline, ~50m faded outline of enemy location and within 30m show a faded team color across the entire screen when you're looking in the enemy's general direction. This way recon can still be used to prepare for a team coming to attack your cashout and knowing what general direction they're coming from without it being able to track enemies to their exact location.

Dash Pads, more oriented for indoor use, could increase movement speed for 3 seconds or so and could decrease the time taken to get back to the Cashout after a wipe.
Each one only has 3 uses, indicated by a generic >>> mark on top, intended for teammates but isn't always the case. With each use a ">" marking would disappear, when all are gone the pad breaks.
Woah woah woah. Some people I def agree with that sentiment. But there is also a lot of pain points people are feeling on the receiving end of the FCAR. I agree that if you are missing shots then it makes sense that would be your viewpoint. I honestly feel that a compromise change to the FCAR would be healthiest. Increase mag yet lower the damage OR make the recoil pattern worse. That would make the gun feel a little bit more forgiving, yet not let it be the defacto go to gun no matter what for mediums.
As things stand, if you hit your shots on FCAR, you fucking shred everyone. You have to reload a lot, but the time to kill is very short for a medium range automatic rifle when hitting shots.

@woeful perch Upping the recoil on the FCAR would still make it a "better AK" as the AK's recoil makes it barely usable at range and upping the recoil would still retain the FCARs low TTK at shorter ranges (which is part of the problem). From my point of view it'd make more sense to lower the damage and increase the mag size so it differentiates itself from the AK as being an option for longer range engagements. You'd have to make the choice between higher damage & short range (AK) or lower damage & long range (FCAR).

i just had a glitch that when i was alive i was permanetly invisible, but to enemies i wasn't? i used a dissapear grenade to try and stop it but it just left the invisible grenade effect on me for the rest of the match, it was difficult to see out of my scope from far range and it'd be nice if they patched this in teh next update because that was a stupid match

BUFF THE RIOT SHIELD:
Here's some suggestions, I know all of these together would make the shield pretty strong but even 1 or 2 would be enough to improve it so much!:
-While blocking movement speed should be the same as walking (increasing block movement speed would help a lot in pushing and giving your teammates support)
-Lunge distance (90% of the fight become a chase you can't win, the other classes have ways to block enemies, slow them down or catch up to them, even heavies have RPG to finish people off if they use sledge)
-Add a slow down effect after being hit by the shield, nothing too crazy just a small reduction to movement speed and the effect should only last 500ms max (Same reason as above, medium lack ways to finish people off or catch up to them, this would prevent infinite chases, also this slow down would only work on medium and heavies, light can still run away)
-Increase damage from 84 to 90 (to kill heavies in 4 hits instead of 5)

Nah, nothing really helps this week. Told u totally remove the individual time. That didn't change too much. The defib cooldown needs to be fixed. It almost gives a team 6 lifes in a row. Recon is still being reworking. Fcar a bit nerfed, which is the only good news.
Healing beam overlapping problem is still there. I don't even feel this will change the statement of the medium. Trash balance team.

I think it does based on headshots. Body shots required to kill remain the same. Also 357 consistency buff with a slight range nerf. Looks to be a buff overall because originally you couldn't really hit people beyond 25 meters because of the dispersion.

Custom Games should be added ASAP. Just imagine all the content creators playing vs each other in a tournament with each one of them having their on POV and streaming. All the videos all the content would certainly bring more players. Plus i would add a variaty of settings in the Custom Games for example "Low Gravity Only" or "Snipers Only" and many other options in order for the players to create their own style of tournaments etc.
Just make recon a ping like the grenade instead of a real time wallhack feed. Push Q to ping on command, you get 3 charges. Slow recharge times. Pairs well with the recon nade. Bam, done.
Also day... I don't even know I lost count, but another day of asking for more crosshair customization options... please it's such a simple request I don't understand why you wouldn't take a DAY to add more of these options for quality of life in this game. The default crosshair is so bad lol people like having static crosshairs that don't take up much on their screens.

It was an overall buff. Dispersion and lack of consistency was a way bigger issue than the range damage
range damage is a problem, especially now with the changes. You cant deal damage as consistently as fcar or AK can at this distances. And it is easier to outdo .357 DPS from these two. So Fcar and AK is easier to use in close range, because spray n pray works wonders, its easier to use from the distances above 50 meters, because dmg per shot is so small, that percentage fallof changes slight to none, they were more accurate, reload quicker, and overall give better opportunity in a teamfight. So why in gods name it got nerfed?

It's still a skill weapon. If you land your shots, you delete lights and heavies alike faster than the FCAR and AK. Making that more consistent for someone who has good aim is a big buff.

The game is losing 20k players per week. It only takes about a month until the game dies. maybe a few people (around 10-20k) will keep playing it, but their funds, attention, and update speed will be effected. It also stated that this game will lose its ability to compete with the other fps.

It's quite unfortunate. I have played this game non stop since release and bought every skin to support the game.
I am quitting until next week since they said they will rework recon senses, which is something we all want.
But...they are just afraid to nerf the meta weapons and buff the "weird" weapons. There is just no point playing revolver when you fight teams with heals and shields and you only got 6 bullets that do bad damage. The assault rifles will reign supreme until they nerf them, so that people can actually use other fun stuff. Melee, nade launchers, shotguns etc.
Although the gameplay is extremely fun, the balance made the meta so stale it smells like my grandad's old socks. Bored to death with the medium fcar meta. Minus 1 damage is definitely a troll move.

I disagree. If you are only counting body shots, then sure. But you have to acknowledge how fast the ttk is with the 357 over the FCAR with headshots mixed in. Key word, mixed in. I understand it is unrealistic to expect someone to hit more than 45-60% headshots (or more). I am also interested in doing the math later on what the damage nerf on the FCAR does to it. At face value it looks like body shot damage ttk is not changed, but it affects ttk with headshots.
Overall I don't disagree that the FCAR will consistently out perform the 357 still, but I do think the 357 is in a way better spot because it's main issue was never damage. It was accuracy where any shots beyond 25 meters just flat out didn't register. Where as now they should atleast hit and do something. And sometimes you just whiffed obvious hits at close range even though they were at the center of your screen. I don't expect it to be perfect though. Just a lot better and make the 357 way more consistent.

well, if you take into consideration that shooting headshots, gives you better ttk with revolver, try the same strat with FCAR, which is easier to put in 60% of shots per second into the head, only because you have more bullet than with .357. Fcar still wins the fight. True value of headshots per shot, always sits within 30% threshold realistically for weapons like revolver (taken from a lot of games and spending time with data), 45% and above consistently through multiple hours of gameplay is considered godlike. 33% of shots of .357 is 2 bullets in the head per magazine. Try hitting those with every magazine. For Fcar it is realistically at 33% is 7 shots at the head. I would argue, that it is easier to hit headshot with Fcar, since aiming is easier, so lets take 8 shots per magazine, to keep it at the same skill level as for revolver. So lets do some math.
Fcar 37.5 x 8 = 300 dmg
Revolver 148 x 2 = 296 dmg
max dmg per headshot
Fcar = 750
Revolver = 888
Now compare skill level needed to use both of the weapons, and that the firerate of revolver is 180, and fcars is 600. That means, you have to hit two consequitve headshots one after the other, and with Fcar you dont. Also Fcar is better at every other range, and its damage scales better.
The facts here are obvious. Revolver is now considerately worse than Fcar.
And lets dont forget, that missing one headshot with Revolver takes 17% of your headshot shots, and with missing one headshot of the Fcar takes only 5% of your headshot possibility per magazine.
the turret did not need a buff, something has to be done about the aps turret combos. I had a match last night that was all medium classes all turrets and aps's and gas. There was literally nothing we could do

Fair. All of that is absolutely correct. However. I still disagree that the revolver is worse off than now. Saying the range nerf was a big nerf when shots wouldn't even register beyond 25 meters before doesn't hold up as argument on it being worse now compared to before.
However I agree that FCAR is generally still going to be better. If anything I think FCAR needs 1 more damage per bullet to be taken off to really change the 25 damage breakpoint. Which would really take it out of the S tier win every fight level that it is on right now. But overall. I don't disagree with you other than the viewpoint that the revolver is worse now.

I agree except having a second grapple charge. That would incite "cashbox keep away / not cashing the box" as a grapple user is able to cover massive distances with 2 charges. Faster cooldown definitely but not 2 charges. We should be able to grapple anything except equipment, and barrels should be pulled towards us with grapple not us towards them.

Embark should add Griefing as one of the report selections. I had again 2 russians as my teammates on ranked who just ran and died literally trolling and cussing me in russian. Also I dont get it why I'm getting qued with russians when my region is Europe.. They should have their own region for everyone elses sake.

I could consistently hit targets at 70 meters. I am min-maxing my revolver to always output max possible damage for my skill, and that change will greatly affect my ability to engage into a fight consistently. To the point of griefing my teammates by playing it.

First cause, having a real thought on a subject like balancing a gaming, takes time to analyse lots of stats, taking account of everything : a small change will impact futur games.
Second, concidering every FPS game stats, More you level Up, more the size of that pool is small, in easy terms, as an exemple 1000000 Bronze/ 1000 diamands.
So most of players speaking here are what we can call "casual players".
Third, choosing to be a competitive game is a way to take or not, Listen to the mass, and make it Ez for casual players, or make it vaiable for competitive scene and listen to a small part of players ( most of good players understand the game and how it works way better than an casual player, that a fact)

Which is also a problem.
Overall the pricing of cosmetics in video games is so out of touch with reality. You can get full on games for that price, which can give you up to hundreds and hundreds of hours of quality content and apparently a skin in a video game is valued at the same price.
For example Monster Hunter World with the Iceborne DLC costs about 25 bucks. You get everything in that game all past event skins everything. Compare that to a skin for 25 bucks and I can't comprehend how someone could defend the pricing of skins nowadays.
Skins in video games are a tool for companies to allow games to be free to play and life service. However for that to be the case skins are in no way required to be priced at such exorbitant prices. It's basically just greed from companies and all the willing consumers allow them to get away with those prices. And sadly it will probably only get worse.

I dont see taking their time for a rework as a problem, however, i claimed that simply disabling it until that moment wouldve been the better solution, because the medium class has other great abilities and doesnt need on recon to be still good.

Ow2 ranked has kill cam. It doesnāt give information because itās the past lmao. I think I versed a cheater today because i literally got beamed across the map and they were only hitting headshots so I just need the kill cam to confirm my suspicions.
I've started an unranked tournament with 2 of my mates when 5 minutes into the game it crashed. I had to restart my PC because the crash severely slowed down my computer and when I hopped back on I found myself having a 10 minute suspension. Might be something for the future to make a difference in disconnects and crashes.

Light dagger shouldn't be able to one shot a heavy at full health.
Especially when RPG was just nerfed to no longer one shot a light.

i think $2 is too cheap but the current price in game is WAY too high. $10 should be the price for outfits because it's more reasonable while still making them money, not almost 20 which is a joke. free cosmetics could also fix this issue, but that would give less incentive to actually buy cosmetics so i think they should keep the cosmetics and just reduce the price. they should hopefully make the same amount of money as with a lower price much more people will be inclined to buy cosmetics instead of just the super rich minority

How do you believe games priced at 25 bucks that offer no cosmetics in an ingame shop are profitable then?
Games with an upfront price and dlcs that you have to buy as well can easily emulate life service games. Most of the life service games could probably do quite well even if their cosmetics were priced around 1-2 bucks. If cosmetics are priced lower it would mean that more players are open to the idea of getting maybe one or two or a couple of skins they enjoy. It would easily get them enough money to continue to develop the game and make a profit of it.
It's a conscious decision of them not to do that tho - spoiler - bigger profit margins aka greed. Free to play games make the hurdle of entrance into the game easier so more potential customers accumulate and obviously the company won't price their cosmetics at the lowest value that allows them to still stay in the green numbers. They price it as high as customers are willing to buy it.

As far as I understand the concept behind it, Embark is only the developer. Nexon is the publisher and I expect that Nexon also has a big say in the prices for items in the game or the revenue that's expected to be generated by the game.
Bottom line: I don't think Embark is ultimately responsible for the prices of the cosmetics.
i mean icl tf2 is genuinely garbage. maybe its fun on console but on pc its terrible, whereas the finals is the best fps game ive played in current day. its a low bar sure, but i appreciate that its not objectively flawed unlike basically all other games atm

Hello,
Iām an avid user of practice mode. Everyday before playing I warmup and utilize this mode to use and try out new gadgets and guns. Kudos for making such a complete training range š The main issue I have with this mode is that itās only a solo experience. My enjoyment of this mode would greatly improve if up to two more friends could join me in the practice range. Specially when introducing friends to the game, being able to use the training grounds with them instead of having to stream my pov to show them strategies and mechanics would be great. This would also double as sort of a custom match where we could fight against each other in a low stakes environment to train countering against different gadgets, guns and classes. I feel like this is the only thing holding the game back from feeling like a complete experience (or the lack of some other custom match option) and I think it would make a great addition to an already great game!
TL:DR: Add the ability for up to two friends to join my practice range

Monster Hunter World and Rise, Risk of Rain 2, Terraria, Minecraft, BG3, all of the Soulsgames, old Cods, old Battlefields etc and a lot of the successful indie games.
All those games had a lot of content when they released and are still getting/were getting patches that added content either for free or per purchasable dlc.
And of course every game that was successful before microtransactions were a thing.
It's not that this concept doesn't work anymore, it still does, it's just not the best when it comes to profit margins. And what do companies care for in the end of the day, it's not reasonable prices, our fun, a well made game, it's seeing the money roll in.

Just played with the revolver ... it's really bad now. The damage fall-off is absurdly close; even the heavy in the practice range needs an extra shot now. The bloom is tighter, but that doesn't helps since it was always tight enough to reliably hit shots in its old effective range anyway (ex, you could reliably land four body shots on the 40m dummy to kill; now it requires five head shots to kill). I don't understand the logic behind nerfing the gun this heavily.

Unless you Intend to have Light class in mostly casuals game modes, it need a change. Either buff the TTK of all weapons or give light more Hp.

- Buff all the underused stuff slightly to make them playable. For example, in ranked basically people only run xp 54 or casually sniper, weapons like sword/throwing knife/dagger is rarely seen (I like the designs but they are just way worse than popular ones)
- Buff light so at least it can be used in ranked (I don't see them buffing the Max HP from the RPG nerf 150-140 dmg)
- Optimize the game. Gosh this is the worst optimized FPS games I have played
- Fix controller aim assit bug that's introduced since the nerf

Yes, they cost money and full price ranging from 20 to 60 bucks with dlcs costing from 5 to 30-40 bucks. They are comparable in the way that look at what you can get for that kind of money and look at what you can get for that kind of money in for example The Finals.
The older games managed to make a profit with it and pump out events, content for free and anything major was labled as a dlc which was reasonably priced as well.
Cheaper skins don't necessarily make them more money. My point was that they would make them enough to still support the game with new content all while also making a profit. And that they choose to price them so highly just to get more money for the same work.
How cheaper skins could make more or the same is like this (that's speculation on my part tho):
Scenario 1: Say a skins costs 20 bucks, quite expensive. A lot of people would think at least twice about purchsaing that. But a few will still get it if they really like the skin or they just got that kind of money to spend without worries.
Scenario 2: Now put the same kind of skin at maybe 5 bucks. Suddenly a lot more people are able to more comfortably afford that skin. Not all will but definitely more than would by the one for 20. That in itself could already make the same kind of. Now a lot more people are running around with skins in the game. A lot more fancy combinations of skins are seen because they are cheaper. Suddenly there's this perceived peer pressure to maybe not look as boring anymore with the plain standard cosmetics. Maybe you wanna express your style aswell etc. so even if you were on of the players that wouldn't have gotten a skin, even in scenario 2, you are still more likely to get one now. And that kind of thing could steamroll further and further.
The people that would buy all the skins would still buy them but more of the others would aswell.

Stupid Idea:
Instead of damage immunity, just apply a damage reduction to newly revived contestants.
It would be harder to die in those 1.5 - now 0.75 - seconds, but you could still be killed. So there would be actual counterplay to defib rushing.
Has anyone noticed a change in their game quality for unranked tournament play? Matchmaking prior to this patch was pretty fast at around under a minute for me and I'm concerned it's going to go the Overwatch route with more time spent in queue than games.
Add input based matchmaking and a xim/cheat detection rework so we can have kbm on console!

I actually did do that, although I heard on reddit that was removed in this update (canāt confirm rn hopefully thatās incorrect). Either way itās silly that I had to use a hex editor to change my mouse sens, why not let us do it in the game by clicking on the sensitivity number.

For Casuals that might be a good thing but for good players itās awful because they only play against other very good people = Sweating every round, thatās why there is a ranked mode. SBMM destroyed games like COD. Andā¦Casuals didnāt get better when they never play against good players. They always stay average. Also, do agree with the guy who said store items should be cheaper. Anyone who argues otherwise is insane. 6 skins cost as much as a full video game. They also don't cost what is listed, they cost however much you've transferred into the in-game currency (so if an item is 800 it's effectively still $10 because you'd need to get the $10 bundle anyway). I would buy a ton more skins if they were like $5 max. $3 for simple color/camo packs. $10 for bundles. I WANT to spend money, but it's hard to justify when the stuff costs so much imo

It's not like that. That is the theory work that has been disproven several times. What SBMM actually does is it takes the highest level performance you have achieved and based your matchmaking experience of future games off of that. Meaning that you see a samey experience every single time but that does not account for, how long you've worked that day, how much sleep youve had, more human factors. SBMM expects you to perform at the highest level you can every single game. I work between 8-12 hours a day during the week. When I play a game. I don't want to have to perform at the highest possible bracket every single time. I wanna relax. SBMM as it is now in almost all FPS's is sheer cancer. If you want to perform at your highest every single time then cool you do that but that should be in a ranked only mode. Casual should have no or little SBMM because it creates an experience where there is a variety of games not just the same experience every single game. Take COD. When I was playing in MW2 (2022) I was against the same players in almost every single lobby. If your SBMM worked I should not be in the same lobby. But nope. I am in the same lobby over and over again. The Finals is going the exact same route.
