Hey, I'm not sure if you can help here but it's worth a try. I'm having an issue with The Finals where my entire PC freezes after playing for about 30 to 50 minutes, and I have to restart my system. This is the only game where I experience this problem. I play other demanding games like Rust, DayZ, and Escape from Tarkov without any issues. This kind of sounds like memory leaking. Check your memory usage, I think CPUID HW Monitor(free software) can give you values of how much has been used over time (Minimum recorded usage / Current recorded usage / Max recorded usage), so long as you have the program running in the background.

If it is, then I'm not too sure how to fix it, but you could try Windows Memory Diagnostic(Search windows for it) to see if there's anything wrong with ur RAM. It will require you to shutdown ur computer for 5-15 minutes, and It will give you a couple of notifications after you log in to windows. Will probably take a few minutes for the notifications to pop up.

EDIT: Make sure to record you RAM usage at the start of a game if possible. If it's using like 8gb, then using 16 or 20+gb at the end, then I'd say it might be.

Bug report/band-aid fix
So I had to deal with the game full crashing my PC and forcing me to power cycle my PSU so I could get back to the desktop.

I tried getting different fixes ranging from tweaking the graphics settings to installing a brand new 1200W PSU in my PC to no avail.

I still have no idea what causes this but I've come up with a fix that seems to work pretty consistently.

The fix goes like this:

• Disable the steam overlay
• Set the graphics to the lowest possible settings
• Reset the GPU drivers (by using Win + Ctrl + Shft + B) after every match if playing Quick Cash or after every round if playing World Tour or Ranked

CPUs havent bumped their single core performance in a very long time, and for physics, everything needs to be synced. I think that's why this has happened. You don't see any physics in any games these days except battlefield which had minimal interactivity in 2042 and it probably wasn't a design choice either. It might also be the anti cheat who knows. But the X3D CPUs might be the only ones reacting well to the game. Maybe they had some system which worked before they updated the engine who knows.

The game hangs in the main menu for 10-15 seconds each time I start the game or end a match. It's like everything works for a few seconds then it freezes and it goes back to normal. It's been happening since Season 3 and maybe end of Season 2.

I use an NVIDIA RTX 3070, Ryzen 5700X3D (happened also on 5700G), 32GB Ram, 2TB Crucial Nvme drive and Windows 11. I've already verified the files through Steam. Settings mostly on Low and in windowed fullscreen.

For example if this was an open source project we would definitely not be in this branch lol, and updates/optimization issues are inherently linked, you need to test a lot of scenarios when you're making any physics related changes for example which they're clearly not doing atm (goo gun), so just leave the game alone and update it when you can. Thank god I played like 60 hours in last 10 days before this happened.

I get over 100fps steadily but get into fights where it looks as if I've dropped down to 20-30fps yet my FPS counters show maybe a 1-2 frame drop? Hello, I want to report a new bug (due to the last patch). The last patch just "Fixed various issues where player outlines could have the wrong color", but when you are using dematerialiser, ennemies outlines changes for RED color when you are looking through the object that were dematerialised. This bug don't notice the original team, so every ennemies are becoming to red color. Then, when you stop looking though the object, color comes back (imagine you cross the object). This bug come back with no delay if there is a dematerialised object between ennemy and you. The result is a big confusion to understand the game.

So I had a completely paradigm shifting bug in the final (pre-final?) round of tournament. We made it to The Finals in the last round and unfortunately got sweeped, but something was off.

I, like most self-respecting players, typed GG after our final death that would surely end the game because there was 5 seconds for the team to capture the second cash box and win. Well, they got it... but the game didn't end. I looked at the score, and instead of seeing $40,000 to $0, I saw $33,600 to $6,400. I asked my teammates if there was a rule change. Neither of them said anything. I assumed a rule change. It's been 2 weeks since my last game. Maybe I missed something. We kept playing and went for a third box. We popped the 3rd box, but couldn't get it to a cashbox in time so the game ended. Womp womp, right? Wrong.

Instead of ending, our initial splash screen said "QUALIFIED", but then when the scoreboard came up, it said knocked out. Well, surely this is a bug right? We still lost... right? Wrong, again. ANOTHER round of The Finals played - we fought the same team. Another head to head. This time we won. No weird partial scores/cashouts this time. A clean $40,000 to $0 back-to-back cash out. And THIS time... The Finals ended and we claimed ultimate victory.

The other team got absolutely scammed and robbed of a win because of a bug.

I hear that. Still definitely a strong weapon but before today you could 2 shot mediums from 20-25m which is no longer possible. Being able to within 10-15 (with good aim) doesn’t feel overpowered to me especially when considering that if the model always required 3 shots it would lose to nearly every other medium weapon in a 1v1. OK I FOUND A FIX for this . you just need to run this game with compability mode for window 8. GO to steam - click the setting on the game- manage files- browse local files- right click discovery.exe- click properties- click compability- check the box called " run this program in compablitiy mode for" and select windows 8- click apply and try the game. it worked for me

The game won't open for me. It crashes, then gives the error message in @green silo 's screenshot. I've done as much as I can, but it's not working. No amount of uninstalling or reinstalling or updating irrelevant things has worked. The game does not run in any compatibility mode at all. The game seems to be trying to access memory but has a broken or invalid pointer in the code.

Maybe it's just something new they added, but i am a bit annoyed by this (i think) bug. The orange team is outlined in red rather than orange, which makes them quite hard to distinguish from pinks in hectic fights. When a orange kills me in the post-kill-cam they are outlined orange as they should.

Ok try this go to the game on steam- click settings- click properties- in launch options write this "-D3D11" then close the window. The game is struggling with direct x 12 for some reason so try booting it up with direct x 11

Servers are completely overloaded. On any given day, quick cash, world tour, or ranked is unplayable. I didn't have this problem before October patches. I've got something I'm not sure is a bug. I can't manage to find a way to complete the "Interrupt opponents who are stealing your team's cashout or decryption terminal 10 times" contract. I've tried killing people stealing it, shooting them to stop, gas, fire, charge and slam. Could this actually be bugged or is there a way to complete the contract?

Theres 2 ways without killing them: winching the person stealing or stun-gunning the person stealing. Otherwise you have to get the killing blow WHILE the steal is ongoing. If you shoot them once and they stop to shoot you back and you kill them, it won't count. They have to die while the steal is ongoing

That’s not running, that just means the game still has files in RAM. Your computer should clear those out automatically. It could still be a game issue though, if the executable doesn’t terminate the game process but instead moves it to a background process when you close out the game or exit the game

Not a bug per se, but jack o lanterns don’t do enough damage to get a kill. Hitting someone still requires follow up hits from a weapon.

Actually, I think the point is that it’s supposed to be fun. Waiting for your team mates to do damage before you engage is not fun. Nor is carrying around a pumpkin so you can drop it, fire, pick it up, throw it, and likely miss.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD change the spawning back to what it was prior to this season.
I know the reason to was "limit 3rd partying" but it has only made it worse and gives you literally 1 chance to push/steal a cashout before you spawn on the entire opposite side of the map and have no time to try to steal again.

I thought it was just me. Not only are you spawning in Siberia every now and then, I swear literally every fight is a third party now. I know they "backed it with data" or something. But my individual experience is the exact opposite. Only difference is, people come and third-party you from Siberia now. It just takes a bit longer for them to arrive.

Agreed. Atleast with the previous spawn points you had a second to breathe after wiping both teams. kyoto is WAY better than before, it's most likely because all the smoke is putting the bullshit out of render eligibility. The actual map is still the worst map in the game regardless of performance but that's a separate issue. The average fps might actually be lower but nobody cares about that I only care about 1% lows and they seem a lot better

If your keyboard and or mouse are plugged into any USB hub, the game frequently loses track of both of them. Causing your movements to drop, and for your look to freeze in place for SEVERAL SECONDS at a time. This has been an issue since the OB, and somehow still hasn't been fixed. It sounds like it might be a problem for all games, but it isn't. Never before has it done this for me in the literal hundreds of different games I've played on my setup. Including other Unreal 5 games. I actually can't believe they haven't fixed this already.

and while frequently checking, i noticed the contract isnt registering my headshots
at the end of the match i still had 27/30 left
but on summary it completed itself

It is really upsetting not being able to play my favorite game because of TFGE errors. I can only play 1 or 2 matches before the next games I attempt to load into doesn't let me and error me out. I either have to switch game modes (rotate game modes every single match to avoid error code again) or restart the game to play a single match. So I recently discovered the whole bullets-go-center-screen-not-reticle conversation, and it appears true. I like that there's a locked crosshair (turning off "in-world crosshair") but this doesn't seem to impact scopes or ADSing. In particular, I sort just wanna know what the sentiment is on the red dot sights, and if there will be an option to remove the dot and/or lock this to center screen. Iron Sights are rough for visiblity, but the option to have a sight without a an in-world reticle sounds appealing. Is this doable? (feel free to tag or reply to me)

so ever since the last update i've been having really really bad lag spikes, and i had to drop my settings from high to low to even get somewhat of a playable fps. it still has a ton of stutters and frame drops. what could it be? specs are 5800x3d, 7800 xt and 32gb ram.

before this i used to have a solid 200+ fps, now i struggle to get even half that on the same settings
lower settings rarely push me over 120 and in intense fights i get drops to as low as 30, my cpu and gpu utilization have dropped drastically too

no one was getting tickets yesterday and today... They said event was over 2 days ago.
Some ppl was getting tickets afterwards bc they had a bug or something so they didnt get the tickets as they finished the daily. But no one was getting tickets yesterday and today.

I thought we were getting tickets until that event was over and u couldn't see the event panel. But was surprised that wasn't the case. If I would've known I would've played everyday just to finish it, thought I had more time so I missed a few days.

I've noticed that my loading times have slowly increased over the course of the season, I could load in near instantly at the start but it's crept it's way into taking several minutes if it lets me in at all, same thing happened last season

It only had affected a certain few not everyone. Someone from embark has reached out and we are trying to resolve the issue but he said they are trying to find the bug

Yes you changed it, in the settings. Just change the colours back in settings think it’s under team

Hey does anyone have any fix for my keybinds not changing?

with energy saving on I tabbed out and made some dinner (about 30 mins) with the game still running in the menu. upon returning my screen was flickering (dark) and the desktop image was burned into the monitor. had to use a monitor correction yt for it to resolve as the ghost image persisted through restarts and power cycles of the monitor.

I think something with lowering the framerate messed it up when tabbed out. The monitor is 1080p 144hz and my framerate is typcally 200+. with energy savings on its about 140 in menu. using freesync extended.

once the ghost image was removed (after some time...) I tested and the flickering would occur again when tabbed out unless I disabled energy savings in game.

Has anyone else got the bug where you win a World Tour game (first round), and the game kicks you out and you get no points? I know I didn't lose because the screen said Winner and I had 92k and was in 1st place. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me this season and it's very annoying.

Anybody else getting obscenely long loading times? because im getting 5+ minute loading times on the vast majority of my games if it doesnt kick me for inactivity first. it only started getting this bad withing the last week or so

potential solution for game crashing during/around recompiling shaders screen:

a buddy of mine was completley unable to play the game for the past few weeks and him and i were pulling our hair out trying to find the issue/fix it and absolutely nothing worked until he (luckily) made it a few seconds past the recompiling shaders screen for a split second and he saw an error saying virtual machines arent allowed. Normally, his game would always crashed during the recompiling shaders screen but sometimes it would make it a little bit further than the last time but the error was the furthest he had made it yet. after seeing this he did the following and his game worked with zero issues.

uninstalled windows subsytem for linux

uninstalled linux

disabled virtualization

--we believe that disabling virtualization was the actual solution but those are the 3 things he tried in order.
