I was getting an error at first that said SYSTEM INTEGRITY VIOLATION "A disallowed tool was detected running in the system" But I don't cheat. I was able to reload the match and even had others in the match get the same error and we kept getting kicked. Now after a couple days I have a new error that reads "This game requires secure boot on capable hardware" and won't load. Is my account banned or something??? How do I fix this?

The aim assist will only work for the first 1 or 2 games, then after that the camera turn and aim snapping stops working. So you have to keep restarting your game for it to get fixed but yeah, it's pretty bad.

What the heck happened with Asia server. Recently, people keeps getting disconnected on the start of games. Sometimes I got that too, the game is just freezing in loading screen right before you choose character build. This thing keeps happening since the start of season 3

People quitting can be either getting kicled for inactivity or force closing the game when they get stuck in the loading screen before a match, Or they coulbe cheating. Getting stuck on the loading screen hasnt been fixed because they still havent found the source. Also the game crashes for some players with the Unreal Engine window popping up

Just another things bugged by the update. Players are experiencing it not working at all. I am a mouse player so I dont care, but i play with people who play with Controllers and its just about trashed im told. @feral forum
Also, I dont believe they should compensate anyone either. The game is free, and the battlepass is cheap, plus you can earn MORE credits then the pass is worth. Unfortunately what that means is youll just have to find a temporary game to play until the issue is fixed. It happens with games like these.
Splitgate is free, and so is the battlepass until they drop whatever new game the studio is making. That could be a year from now. lol Its Cross-platform.

My game keeps crashing bw matches and I dont even get a crash window. Even if I reconnect thats a lot of time wasted in a match, I was happy for 2 days when I didnt get the Unreal crashes because I turned off dlss and reflex, now its crashing without no reason. Don't blame the game, blame Microsoft. Many bad things has been done by Microsoft this past month. A 6 hour outage preventing players from signing into their accounts, delayed update for the Finals, and now a Game Pass price increase. Trust me, Embark isn't at fault here

Embark is at fault for pushing an update that has not been approved, previously all clients updated at the same/similar times. this time they decided to push update knowing xbox would not receive the update instead of holding off and updating everyone at once. Continuous silly decisions like these will slowly bleed the console player base dry as they leave to play other games that get working updates.

I really wish that Embark had a different solution to the Xbox patch delay. It might seem unfair to everyone to simply hold all platforms back on the previous patch until all platforms could upgrade properly, but it's more unfair that Xbox players are left in an empty pond alone.

well the Nvidia GPU is there in my Device Manager, its just that i cant run the game using GPU (i have tried updating the driver, windows, less supplemental software, only use the Windows Defender), and i use a laptop

If it's a notebook, you can force disable integrated GPU if it has one. If it's a desktop, you can do the same...or simply not plug any displays into the onboard GPU interface (which will be separate from the interfaces on your aftermarket gpu)

I can't post video or pictures here but basically what happened last night is I was playing light build with some friends, I noticed my gun was doing the constantly invisible bug except that my friends told me they could see me either. I tried to die, take damage, shoot my gun and even when I went to take a cashout I would stay invisible. when I wasn't using the ability I could still see half the gun (mount rails, mag and middle part) but when I did use my ability then everything would dissapear like normal.

Found a very annoying visual bug, if you're on a moving platform (lifts too), and you aren't crouched, and you look up so that you can't see any of the platform. Your camera will start to stutter, because the platform below you moves at a lower framerate when not looked at.

I join a world tour match, play the first game and qualify to next round, in the loading screen going into the next round my game freezes then crashes? This happens way too often and only when I play world tour. The game force quit itself, then I could not open the game after it forced quit. I had to restart my computer. After extensive testing of 14900K crashes I was able to stabilize the chip across the board by simply Disabling C-States. I have a feeling that the CPU is attempting to enter a C-State when it is not supposed to which caused crashing on load up, in between matches, and infinite loads. Since disabling C-States all of those problems were resolved before Embark dropped the latest patch supposedly addressing it. It seems that the game is in fact revealing faults in the systems of users and that the game itself is not at fault for these issues.

Gyro controls for switch pro controller on PC(reddit repost from me)

I’m trying to use the switch pro controller for gyro in this game. I saw that only dual shocks were capable of this in the finals. I downloaded ds4windows and hidhide to trick my computer/steam to think Im using a ds4 controller. On ds4 windows it recognizes the gyro controls but in the finals its still not working despite the gyro menu now being available. Any solutions/ suggestions? (other than buying a controller for a console I dont have and is seemingly situationally useful only for this game in my case.)

Using ds4 is the cause, descriptor for the hid is different between the two. I think they behave a little different in the accelerometer area.

If you use TAAU, there is a slider for it. If you set it at 100, it's doing very little heavy lifting and should be barely any impact. It is not the best looking option, but it's the one that doesn't crash with various errors at this time like DLSS does.

They really just need the option hard disable extra processing if needed, for now you have to pick the least worst

'Perfect wifi' is an oxymoron. It's prone to a whole variety of household interference and contributes to jitter (lots of variance between when packets arrive vs when they are expected to arrive), so much that some games will flag detected jitter and give you the option to prevent requests from those players :

-The most common wifi bands are 2.5 and 5ghz, and a lot of things live in that same frequency range
-Gaming should be done on a wired connection if you want best performance, full stop

connection failed, that one is triggered by poor connection or network congestion -I'd reboot the ps5 and your router and see if it improves. Since it's a console, probably using wifi, if you are try ethernet if possible

It's by design more intensive to render with all the foliage and buildings than other maps. They'd have to reduce models/zdo to lessen the impact on older equipment. But you can turn down graphics a bit to help it. It's not really that it's not 'optimized', it just has more to render that unfortunately makes some rigs sweat harder. Still totally playable, I get an average 130ish fps on it

The game has lost focus, you can fix it without restarting -Start key (this exposes the taskbar and opens start) > click the finals from the exposed taskbar to focus it again.
I wind up doing this several times a match as I go back and forth between discord and things, it breaks focus and you just have to put the game first again.

Just about every patch comes with some contract that doesn't track correctly, I would not be surprised if it happened for the event too. Just keep working at it anyhow, it will either 'catch up' or it'll be a failed task and they'll replace it or reward people for trying.

Yes please. There are so many bugs which make the game unbearable.
There have been so many bugs which have been reported, which are seemingly being ignored. Take the spear for example. Still unusable since both m1 and m2 have a lot of bugged interactions.

autosprint issues (probably already known): randomly doesn't engage, have to double tap w to get out of walking or bind a sprint button. If you do bind a sprint button as a backup it will then override any future autosprints after you press it. at that point why use it. also with it on it doesn't affect the death free look camera to make you go fast, so you need a sprint button for that. overall an annoyance when it should be a convenience.

One thing that could aid you in changing settings is by changing them @ windows key + R > %localappdata% > Discovery > Saved > Config > WindowsClient > open GameUserSettings.ini with notepad and you can manually change things there.

No, that's the default behavior I don't think it can be changed. If you tap specialization it will switch to it (if it's something you carry) and it will always switch back if you tap it again.

Since I started this game, wireless headsets have mic issues, and I was forced to use a boom arm mic, because my $300 wireless headset mic auto-adjusts its output volume down to 0 consistently. There is no fix, support was no help, please fix this, it's been a year and it's still the same. The game has no influence on, configuration for, connection dialogue, anything related to wireless audio. That's entirely an issue between the pc and headset, or something interfering with the two since it's wireless

A game bug could absolutely influence the wireless audio driver. Audio driver isn't the same for wireless and wired, they're separate. The game lost focus, it's easily fixed. Start button (exposes taskbar) > click the Finals to bring it back to the foreground. You will find this happening a lot if you switch back and forth between windows or ever alt tab

Those aren't bots...that's the default naming scheme for players with embark. And if they have a default name, you can expect public server players to do really, really dumb things. You can tell when they are new, especially on console.

There a bug that's been around for a couple weeks now where you get stuck in the loading screen but can hear the game/match starting in the background.
Your character is in the game and people can interact and even kill you but you cant do anything cuz youre stuck in the loading screen

The only way to get out of the bug is by restarting the game by Alt F4ing and this game takes FOREVER to load so if you're in a terminal attack or world tour game, GL to your teammates, theyre down a man/gal till you relog.

Recently this bug has gotten more common. Today I did 6 quick cash games and 2/6, I got the loading screen bug and 3/4 of the other games, I JOINED A MATCH IN PROGRESS CUZ EITHER SOMEONE GOT THE BUG AND DISCONNECTED OR THEY STRAIGHT UP RQ.

That sounds more like an actual system freeze, not the game. Start > type 'event viewer' > look through system logs for yellow and red entries, it should indicate what caused the crash

That may help, but you should also check if the connection is having trouble. You can find that with some pings:

-Windows: start > command prompt > ping 1.1.1.1 -t > CTRL+C to end and get summary.

-Linux: terminal > ping 1.1.1.1 > CTRL+C to end and get summary

-You can also use Google DNS, 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 as targets for a good baseline. 1.1.1.1 is Cloudfare and will be geographically close to you. Packet loss and/or latency above 70-80ms is not great for gaming

On entering the game menu, the game seems to work as expected. Game crashes unexpectedly after random amount of time. It happens in any menu or game context, in which a crash report handler pops up which prompts me to create a memory dump.

Attempts to fix:

• Verified file integrity through Steam
• Uninstalled/reinstalled The Finals
• Deleted AppData/Local/Discovery/Saved folder and contents.
• Verified drivers are up to date
• Verified Windows 11 is up to date

qol bug? / suggestion: The thermal bore (and possibly the tracking dart) doesn't follow the same scoped-in sens rules as the sniper rifle even though it is a scoped weapon. It follows AR zoom sens so if you use the 2 together and up scope sense for the sniper to be comfortable the thermal bore is waayyy upped and you go wakadoodle when you zoom in. You should be able to reach settings, and put it back to what it was before then get windows to load. There are step by step guides to change it live, or also a tool on that page at the bottom. Then you can enable secure boot again

ADDING TO MY SHADOWPLAY ISSUE

I know I'm not the only one so I am posting an update...

Shadowplay is broken and buggy as hell but only in The Finals specifically!

Recently I reinstalled all graphics drivers after doing a full uninstall using DDU then doing clean install again.

IT WORKED INITIALLY but for about an hour and was still acting weird and causing performance issues.

previously clicking off the game/tabbing out would just turn off Shadowplay
OR
the command to open overlay would just freeze my mouse and do nothing else until I use the command again.

NOW
the issue is that no matter how damn hard I try, pressing SAVE just will NOT work whether I click it or by using any key command.

I really can't express how PERFECTLY it used to run up until late season 2 and now it is completely unusable

If anyone has any helpful info on how to fix this issue please let me know!

If a player is hit with goo while ziplining, they are wholly unaffected. Literally not even slowed, they just carry on like nothing happened.
It also leaves behind a hovering goo at the spot where it was created, which leads me to believe it's obviously not intended.
I believe the previous behavior, which disconnected them from the zipline but allowed them to easily regrab after, is the most balanced interaction.
It's doubly absurd for them to be unaffected AND for it to leave a glitched floating goo that prevents you from following them on the same zipline...

What happens: It runs easy anticheat thingy.exe, then the spash screen loading window appears, then the main, fullscreen window appears with the loading icon in the corner, then it crashes
After it crashes, nothing happens, the play button on steam goes green again and I can try to launch the game again but this happens every time

two "small" bugs to report:
the small thing is that the timer at the top of the maps, in the big circle, does not exactly match the "official" timer of the game, there is often a second of delay
and the "big" bug is that winning the third round, the final of a tournament, did not count in the "win 12 rounds" contract, I was at 11/12, I didn't no doubt about it, I won the final and I'm still at 11/12

what's the specific ram model(s), list all of them if it's a mixed set. You might try toggling off XMP if you have it (intel) or EXPO (amd). 'Extreme memory profile' (xmp) might be on default, and it's a type of overclock. If you have it off, you might try enabling to take advantage of higher speed memory if you have some.

I just read that i'm supposed to turn off xmp before pulling the old set just to avoid the new set from using the old XMP settings. BUG REPORT: Light + Bow has no damage after being revived via defib.
I was playing light on Power Shift (Platform). I was using bow going in and was doing damage but I died and was revived via defib. After that, I had no damage. I died again soon after and tried shooting every cannister in the spawn area and no damage.
I tried to throw fire nade on myself and it did damage until I died and was able to change weapon. I tried to shoot the cannisters again and now it did damage (the weapon i swapped into was X54)
I don't know if it has to do with the bow or being light or revive via defib but these are what I had going on.

I seem to be noticing that the dome and mesh shields are not working properly. I had an enemy snipe me through my own dome shield without it breaking. The dome shield should stop the bullet if it has enough health or at least break if its destroyed. I was shot through it and the dome shield was still standing afterwards.
The mesh shield issue seems to be with the spear. A fresh 750 health mesh shield does not stop the spear. The spear goes right through it causing no damage to the shield. Im not sure a specialty item should be completely useless against a normal weapon if that is how its setup. This may not be a bug but a fix needed. What doesn't make sense is how the mesh shield can shield a grenade explosion but a spear has no resistance. An explosive does no damage to the person, but damages the shield. A melee weapon is not blocked at all.

Well, if you're not pressing the attack button then you can walk through it. It should block the melee weapon when used to attack not walking with it. Just like walking with a gun can go through shields. The melee weapon can too but when used to attack the shield would block it and lose health.

In the video settings, there is also a preference to choose between ultra performance and quality if you are using AMD FSR2 for resolution scaling method. Also, if you really want to test the difference load up into the practice arena, blow up an orange barrel in the park to start a file and then open up options-video and then mess with the settings like, resolution scaling method. Hope this helps! You'll almost see the effects immediately except for screen resolution changes, for which you need to "back" and repeat.

I don't think that is actually a fixable thing for the units that were already produced. They later had internal memos leaked that showed they knew well that there was a corrosion issue in the manufacturing process that made those lots pretty defective. It later causes voltage issues, which they try to patch with updates to get around. But they go so far as to say if you experience the failures already, it's a cascade and the patch likely won't help at that point. It's likely going to become a class action for RMAs being denied about it

Throwing my hat in the ring here. Just coming to say that I feel like the game's performance has degraded pretty substantially within the last month. Unclear as to why.

Win 10 Pro, 4090, 5700x3d, 32GB RAM. Temps are fine.

Obviously, I'm at a CPU bottleneck here, but me and my two buddies agree that something feels off.

SETTINGS: 4k, 145 cap, , DLSS Performance, Reflex On + Boost, VSync off, ALL settings (except textures) are low/off, RTX static.

My buddies are effectively the same, but they have a higher frame cap because they tend to get more than me.

In terms of control panel, I basically lend everything to the application, and all power settings are set to maximum performance.

Anytime we do a driver update, we DDU it. Me specifically, I take it further and use NVCleanInstall to remove all bloat from an Nvidia driver. In any case, both myself and my friends are experiencing this. And aside from the NVCleanInstall on my end, they go through the same process.

As we were talking about it today and we were all checking on each others settings, verifying lost game files, etc, I noticed that I'm missing Frame Generation, but both of them have it. The main difference between me and them is that they're on Windows 11 with significantly better CPUs( AMDs).

Searching this up, I'm getting all sorts of random comments - some saying it's normal, some saying Frame Generation is only available on Win11, and a whole bunch of weird shit.

This isn't to say I want to use frame generation, but in my desperation, I was wanting to test it and found it missing.

All in all, something is off and all three of us are feeling it.

The game isn't unplayable, but it doesn't feel good to play anymore. All the smoothness is gone.

Depends on Intel / AMD but yeah most XMP/Expo profiles get yeeted out when u boot the game.. Some strange benchmark thing going on that just spits out any client it doesnt deem stable enough.. I haven't encountered it anymore since i removed my EXPO profile and went Buildzoid on my AMD 7800X3D

Yeah if you're wanting to swap those profiles you'd have to mess around in the bios unfortunately There are quite some guides online for RAM timings & it looks quite intimidating from a far but might be worth just choosing your XMP profile and clocking your Mhz down (example 6400Mhz > 6200 or 6000Mhz)

Look, might not really be a bug, but more intended performance choices from the devs, but I agree. I love the addition of Larger maps(except vegas cause it feels like a showcase demo for destruction mechanics), but I completely agree with overall performance.
I constantly found myself tweaking some settings and I think I might just have to upgrade at this stage.

I don't /think/ it's as much hardware degradation when I've gone from CB 0 = Epic, OB = HIGH, S1=MED across some(quick hint, drop effects, I find it helps alot with NVIDIA systems), S2=MED with Static reflections and only render distance set to high...

Im pretty sure the settings are not showing the correct values.. as when im booting up the game on all LOW settings it looks as if its on Ultra.. I just swap to ultra preset and back to Low to "fix" it. Seems to have been introduced in one of the last patches

Hello everyone, I'd like to implement this type of hit indicator from The Finals(directional incoming damage indicator), any idea how to implement it?
Usually we have hit indicators on screen space(e.g. widget that is rotated on screen towards the enemy), but I can't figure out how would we make it in 3D space
Or, maybe we have anyone from Embark that could share what is the idea behind this hit indicator? Is it really worldspace static mesh or well manipulated screen space widget?

I play on Linear with max sens and every so often it feels completely different to what it did 30 seconds ago, like it’s switched to Exponential or Sinusoidal

Idk if this is happening to anyone else but in some matches I literally cant use any gadgets , when I try to use a grenade for example, after I throw it it just disappears, or if I try and stun someone the animation will show but it won’t actually let me stun them

Yes, it happens to me sometimes too. I believe this happens when you get connected to the server that is located pretty far from your location, so you have high latency.
I suppose that The Finals uses Unreal Engine's Gameplay Ability System that has integrated prediction system - and this is the place where clearly technical side comes in.
If The Finals really uses GAS when you have high latency some abilities such as throwing grenades, shooting, playing animations of throwing knives can be CANCELLED due to disagreement between client and server.

Exactly what’s happening, but you don’t need to switch any settings. Simply entering the video settings section and exiting should resolve it for you.

The matchmaking is dogshit. There is no nicer way to put it. My last 10+ matches are all unbalanced, with examples of both ways (enemy well above/below). I'm at 25k, but put in matches with 40k+, or with 15k players. This needs to be fixed.

That's rough, it's a 15 year old design I don't think you'll be able to run the game with an emulator, it needs those later instruction sets

Banned? I'd be surprised if it even launched. An emulator adds overhead to a cpu that's already really really old. Then you will try to run the game on top of that, if it actually works to recognize sse4 instruction, there'd still be a heavy performance hit if it even runs. The lowest rungs of the Ryzen line are the minimum spec, I believe.

Video settings reset each time when launching the game. It launches and automatically applies optimised settings. If I click "Settings" then "Video" it reverts to my chosen custom settings. Tried editing GameUserSettings.ini and making Read Only but no luck...

That's not what it's saying. The skull will appear if you died with a carriable, fell off the map, etc. If you kill yourself with a weapon, it shows that weapon (such as eating your own HE grenade, or landmine)

there's a directory in %appdata% called Discovery i think and delete everything inside and it will completly reset the settings and it will end your issue i had it too google it

I constantly get this annoying bug with sword/light where when I die and respawn, my character is bugged through the whole entire game where I cannot dash, climb and grab ledges and can't use ziplines, I can't even properly slide correctly. That's just a regular text bug it goes away after you select your weapon/class and you won't see it again.
