I played with the sword once to test it out, it's just too simple and too powerful: you don't even need to aim, plus you can 2-shot light attacks and with the evasive dash you can get around the enemy to hit him from behind

Lights can just dash backwards from you to kill you before you can close the distance, so it only really works on them if they’re not aware of you, don’t understand the danger you pose, or your movement is a lot better than theirs

For the right click it's super impactful. Right now the rotation lock severely hinders your field of vision and makes it harder to hit them with the lunge (you can't really course correct, so have to predict their movement in advance)
furthermore, when you move your camera quickly while lunging, it snaps your camera back to where you were facing a little earlier, which makes it super jank and prevents the sword lunge from tracking enemies who are circling around you.

Since the left click doesn't have the movement and burst damage that the lunge has, the lunge is needed to compete against players with good aim, but these limitations mean there's lots of cases where it's just way too punishing
personally I'm a spear main, so regularly skilled swords kind of are just not able to win against me unless I mess up to begin with :p
quick cash is kind of funny in how the calibre of players you find make any weapon able to seem really overpowered sometimes, just because the players throw themselves at you :p

So I've been playing grapple sword as my only sword loadout for a few months now, haven't touched dash sword since I switched, I recently went back to dash sword cause I'm grinding cashout and omg it is so easy. I'm dropping 13-16 kill games almost every time and fucking pub stomping other modes, holy shit I'm gonna tell more people to play grapple sword cause it makes you really focus on your sword fundamentals and when you switch back to dash sword it's just so fucking easy now. No advanced grappling, no tech chasing dashes, they dash I dash, easy as fuck, and I can double or triple dash to avoid shots or bail from situations.

Oh ranked I think I'm somewhere on gold, I don't play ranked often cause I find the meta boring to fight. Hell I usually play head to head but I'm trying to get as far into emerald as I can in the last few days so I've been playing cashout
in my experience dash chasing a light is stupid asf unless ur already on them since all they have to do is dash to keep distance on you and they win that fight as long as their aim doesnt suck
and the only time i get 13-16 kill games is tdm
So with me I'm a super movement heavy sword so they can't escape me easily, and since I can match there dashes and keep my lunge ready they can't really get away
if u dont have first hit on them when ur dashing with them they kill u faster than u kill them
unless they whiffing all their shots
or arent shooting while they dash but why would you not shoot while dashing

I don't think where you flick matters but every movement sword player I've seen looks down and then flicks up so you might have to do it at a specific angle. The exception being dash super lunges where they start centered and flick up for a better dash

MGL needs to be reworked so it explodes on a direct hit on an opponent or an opponent owned gadget. Launching a 40mm grenade at someone's face and having it harmlessly bounce of them doesn't make sense and it reduces the versatility the weapon could have

Ok so if you have melee aim assist on you can actually break the aim clamp for a brief second while passing by them for combos
By lunging towards their side that puts your sword in-between you and them, the aim assist breaks the clamp for a brief second letting you hit combos on them. Its actually pretty good for lights and mediums since it'll let you insta combo lights if you aim well and hit the L+QM on mediums which is good for both of mediums main combos.
L + QM + L
L + QM + S + QM
L= lunge
S= swing
QM= quick melee
Mostly just that you can use the lunge as your dash if you get good enough with it so you can reap the full benefits of grapple without too much downside. I mostly use grapple sword as a support tool since you now have the highest mobility build in the game, so it's great for running vaults or bodies.
One thing I love to do is if I'm on a LHH team is have the heavies set up at the box and I'll nab the vault with gateway and run it for them so they stay on the defensive all game

A ruby ARN tells you what to expect, a ruby DB tells you what to expect, a ruby dagger or LH1 tells you what to expect, if I whip out the ruby sword, grapple hook, and breach charge, it inspires confusion and fear. The drip is meaningless, but that, that strikes fear in even an emeralds heart, it baffles and dazzles them, something to provoke a feeling

head 2 head is actually roughly even pace with cashout re: WT points
matches go so fast that the lower point gains even out
remember that cashout is essentially 3 matches, not one, and a 2nd place finish is 12 points, which is 4 points per "match", with two of those matches being at minimum ten minutes long
while head 2 head matches can be done in around 5 minutes, so 3 wins in h2h is often faster for point gains than one 2nd place finish in cashout
the only way cashout wins out is if you have a higher than 1/8 win rate in cashout, or something like that anyways. been a minute since i did the math

the crane can be disabled by one or two explosives, the flying platforms can also be disabled by a couple, but to break down the high ground of kyoto or bernal and also some cashouts on monacco, you need to literally take down the entire building which you cant do if you are the attacker since by the time you get close enough to use a sledge or something (which will still take like at least 40 seconds to do reasonable damage to a big structure like that) you are either dead or down to 100hp and get rushed

but in mid-low games people aren't really awake enough to do that, you defib them infornt on enemies and they will wake up, reload, go to work, come home, then try shooting enemies
when your teammates need such a long time to wake up and get their brain in the game again, defibs tend to be a self grief by burning a lot of time on the box, espeically if that teammate is watching tiktok and doesn't realize revive is coming. A teawmwipe is a lot longer notice lol
and a lot of times in low tier games fights are discombobulated, they're disconnected, spread out, so usually if you trade a teammate, you can just goo wall and slow revive them without being punsihed, and then they're back with all their juice
like, if your fights aren't tight 3v3s with fast enemy pushes on downed allies, you don't need defibs
the amount of safe res defibs i see is so unreasonably high, and its by people who exclusively play medium too

meaning that you're like, double the ttk of DB and like 75% extra ttk vs MODEL
meanwhile the repeater is a slug shotgun with 0.77 rate of fire and twoshot light to 35m?

at least matter is more effective vs heavy because heavy is the size of a wall so you can hit more than two pellets on them
but matter's ttks only work when you quickmelee, which means that it ends up being even closer range than the db, which can hit its peak ttks at around 6m instead of 2m for QM comob

Hey no smoke on you but heavies the best Archetype in the game, and not by a close margin. Like yes they've received a good bit of nerfs over the past 2-3 seasons, but so has everyone, and heavy has always been meta and continues to be the meta defining archetype. They have some of the best weapons only really outdone by light, they have the most health, arguably the best gadgets and certainly the best variety of good gadgets, and by far the best selection of specs, not only having the most but having all of them be viable in their own niches. Like every heavy spec is solid in even top level depending on what you're doing.

Well there are things that could use buffs, I want ks-23 reworked to be more close to mid range focused with qm combos and no hipfire penalty, spear and sledge need some love for Gods sake, Idk what the fuck we can do with the mgl to make the mains happy and make it better but there's something there to work on, they need to bring tbe barricade rework back goo planes and all, actually just bring goo planes back in general, or at least goo launchers.

- maybe make the KS-23 pump should be passive, so it can be canceled with mesh and C&S like the SA-12’s barrel rotation

Lower the movement and airborne spread penalty to be just about on par with the medium revolver spread when crouched. - I think all these buffs to the KS-23 won't overtune it due to its punishing reload and limited mag size. Along with the BFR and D-eagles superior range

Biggest thing new gateway players do to make them drop it is forget to use it. Remember it can move items as well so you can put it over an opening vault to make the vault pop through the gateway when it opens

Thats fair, I could do without the airborne accuracy buff but I think the hipfire is just needed. And the QMs were on purpose to give it strong close range output since it's a shotgun. So it's mid range potential is still good but it's close range is dangerous

Well, it feels more like a auto shotgun to me. It's range damage isn't amazing but can hip fire close range really well. It's fire rate also goes well with the AA-12. Idk just an idea, I just like skins that change the gun completely, not just a million colour variations
I like skins that change the shape but leave it as a gun. For instance:
- M60 rambo skin from s4 bp (replaces the fugly bipod with a cool grip)
- that p90 skin with the long barrel
- the green model skin with a short barrel (i think it was in last seasons bp maybe?)
- that akm skin with no stock (honestly might be hallucinating that one, let me know if its real lol)

Asking cuz as a heavy main I definetly want fists as a new "weapon". M1 as regular punches, if held then a larger hit. M2 as a grab: if you grab an object you can throw it really hard (1.5x-2x more), and you can also grab enemy players who then will be thrown in 1 second after being grabbed (also breaking trough walls as they fly away). And you can punch trough walls and floors in like 3 punches.

The issue is that the KS unlike literally any other shotgun does not have a true ADS. Its just a really really clunky design flaw for a game this fast paced for a gun promoting creativity to be that bad at anything other than being a stationary char

So, what if specializations had 2 varient? Like if heal beam could attach to multiple people but heals way less, or if dash had 2 charges but thrust you much harder in that direction, or if goo gun could shoot in a shotgun like pattern with three shots but it shoots slower and has only 8 shots. Idk something to spice up specialization and push the game a little more into that hero builder mindset

ooh I like that idea a lot, brings lots of interesting ideas to mind.
Dash could get a single longer reaching amiable dash instead of 3 short horizontal ones. Turret could get mini turrets blanketing a wider area but killing much slower and breaking faster. Winch could get a placeable remote control tow line for funky cashout defense set ups.
This’d also make new variants easier to throw into a new season since dev time would (theoretically) be much shorter than putting together a whole new weapon or gadget with animations and skins etc etc etc.
First Light and Medium need their 4th specializations though
And Imo, absolutely the hottest take I have, probably not a great idea, any barrel on the map should have its equivalent grenade be a universal grenade, and that includes glitch barrels and grenades.
Or the turret can be upgraded like Engineer from TF2. Starts out super weak as a p90 but after beating it with the totally legally distinct not wrench, it upgrades too the fcar like it is now, and level three could be the M60.
And how you get scrap is the turret pad you have can deconstruct barrels and interactables around the map
