A lot of people love using melee weapons in a shooter game, just look at Team Fortress 2 for example.

Thing about The Final's melees is that to make up for their lack of range, they tend to get their damage numbers up there, as they should when bringing a knife to a gunfight.
If one complains about melees in a shooter, one also can have viable complaints about pellet shotguns and snipers since they too don't really fit the standard close-to-medium range archetype that your usual AK or LMG possesses.

I'm in the honest opinion that The Finals did NOT need a Spy TF2 dagger.
It's niche, sure, but it's also annoying to deal with when playing around the objective. Especially when you're stationary, which definitely isn't something you do a lot in this game to help you win oh no no no.
It's rough for console players against PC Light players at the best of times and having a dagger for them to evasive dash spin hitbox you in the back even though you feel like you're facing them front on will never not be frustrating.
I mean, there's a skill curve of course, but anything that one taps you (especially melee) will always be annoying to be on the receiving end. Yeah.
And don't get me started on sword players wrecking whole teamsš

i wouldnt say better in all areas since the reload time is almost 0.5s longer and 128 lower rpm and worse hip fire. plus it doesnt come w/ a red dot as default
also the dmg factor is entirely unique since it has a limited "randomizer" of sorts

if you didnt know, using AR as a short form of assault rifle can be misleading since AR in guns doesnt stand for assault rifle. it stands for Armalite Rifle which is basically every m16/m4/AR-15 looking gun

A kinda? useful thing you can do is grab an object behind an enemy statue to move it closer to you.

the most fun thing you could do is put it on a red can and then grapple onto it midair, but they patched it.

M11 is supposed be like a super close range weapon and it has great hip fire. So use cloak or dash and get in and get out

A drone that automatically detects nearby enemy light and kamikaze itself on it. If the light is a coward sniper far away from the drone then the drone will create a portal and teleports next to him to explode. Coward snipers receives instant drone explosive damage.

Yeah, the model is able to deal a freakish amount of damage at ranges you don't expect it to, so lowering it's overall damage output while tightening it's spread should help resolve the issue of it being kind of oppressive at ranges it feels like it shouldn't be.
110 also makes sense since that's around the range of KS without fall-off
is running Medium Medium and a Heavy still viable or is better off ditching the heavy for 2 mediums and a light to roam/dps
that doesnt change it, rework the damage and then work on the range/falloff modifier

Nerf the damage by 1 per pellet and buff the range modifier, so its lower dmg close range and the same damage on long range. that also means you cant 2 shot a medium anymore, making it the worse choice against another medium that runs AR. this balances out itself this way

I dont have the most experience with using them myself (being a Medium Main) but I always run them when I play Light, and theyre pretty effective when trying to steal a Cashout, particularly in buildings
Theyre not so useful in more open areas, but buildings with multiple levels, they can come in pretty handy

I run flashbangs in my main loadout, so if I see a ping for an enemy close by it gives me a really good advantage

Not quite that heavy, but heavier than they are currently. It would make them more useful when fired from height.
As they are currently, the bounce is so comically extreme and the travel time so slow that the enemy has to basically allow them to hit or not see them coming.
It would also make them more reliable at closer range as well, but you'd still be able to bounce them off walls decently well.
Model is pretty much a ranged, faster, sword lunge attack on a better class.

You really don't want to add an extra layer of complexity to the loadouts. This is not that type of game.
Deadlock offers tons of different perks/builds, meaning you can tweak your characters in hundreds of ways. While some people would argue that it has a wider playerbase already than The Finals, I personally knew right from the start that I wouldn't stick around because its learning curve feels far steeper. And I'm just not willing to spend the time to get good enough in PvP.
It kinda gave me the same feeling as returning to Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. It seems like you can't enjoy PvP games if you're not a diehard sweat who spends infinite time learning all the tricks in the book.
The Finals stands out as a game that has relatively easy to grasp gameplay mechanics, which means any semi decent FPS player can enjoy it from the start. But there's also lots of room for creativity/skill expression, allowing experienced players to shine and bring the game to a whole other level.
Let's always keep it that way. You don't need overly complicated mechanics to make a game catchy. Unless it's a gacha game and you're very clearly trying to milk your player base dry of their time/money by multiplying gameplay mechanics for no good reason.

this is what most sci fi settings get wrong. the prototype railgun that U.S. navy was making a few years ago had an issue w/ the range of the weapon; they couldnt get enough speed to the projectile to fly to long ranges, which is why they canceled the program.

Instead of using the duration of the specialization when you activated, it takes 40% when you deactivate it When you cloak, you are completely invisible while standing still and crouch, walking and slowly walking, but you become more visible. If you take damage, this makes it easier for people to find lights this would finally make it valuable in high tier ranked and it would not be overpowered it would actually be balanced for once
but imo a good fix would be make the dash cancel the charged attack for sword
