The Finals barber goes crazy
heal beam isnt a problem. the problem is that mediums can dish out crazy damage while also having very good support capability.
any serious medium is using heal beam
and if i see a medium in the final round, theyre using it, never turret or demat
Demat would be way more popular if it removed props behind walls so you don't need 2/3 charges just get past 1 wall (and sometimes even 3 isn't enough)
had it kill me a bunch before
a few times the cashout got stuck on some stuff and it literally denied a last second defense, loosing me the match
but i dont think it would elevate it to heal beam levels
healbeam needs downtime
Considering the best teams in the game are running heal medium it explains that even if they did shit all damage, heavies are enabled to do crazy things when kept alive mid fight
The worst part about demat is there are some floors that get double removed, and others that keep the props or the second floor
The next update better have some decent guns, I don't want to feel like some Zulu guy getting mowed down by the British at the Battle of Ulundi everytime I use the new weapons
but im not talking about heavy. the heavy is able to do so much thanks to the base class being very strong, not because its getting healed (although healing does enable it more and give more margin of error)

So pulling them would be pointless because they'd always be out of range

They also are unable to do anything while youâre stunned so you have ample time to get out of the way. Vents heavies canât walk through. Lmao there isnât a winch in practice range and all the things stand still. The only thing it proves is I can shoot straight. The characters donât move quick. If you want proof bring the winch into a practice match with me and Iâll go 10-0. Not only that I would definitely shred up the practice range I donât start playing until I hit 30 consecutive headshots

Well yeah that does kinda suck, but itâs better than having 2 heal beams. I find when itâs just one though it is broken in its moments. If you split the team up you can easily whittle them down. Without 2 heal beams it makes doing chip damage and taking one opponent out at a time the play to make. Also, many games have limits to the classes, a good example is hell let loose or overwatch. Though sure you may get locked out of your fav class for that game, you can always play it next time if your teammate isnât an ass

and since its charges, they will just waste a charge trying to heal chip damage off, giving you a better opening for a punish and actually kill someone (unless they defib, but that thing is in for a nerf anyways)

medic in tf2 has very strong healing, but they die to pretty much everything because they cant defend themselfes
and there are 12 people that all know youre a priority target and will make your life hell
alongside specific classes made to counter them
in the finals, a heal medium can defend themselves just fine, there are way less people (which also makes the healing of a single player way more impactful), and there are no specific things to counter it (at least to the extend you do in tf2)
engineer needs to set it all up, move it to his team, also has somewhat bad self defense option (unless you rely on your sentry, more setup and resources) and still falls very easily to demomen and soldiers
The turrets are broken now and the defibs still got people mad and it didnât change the gameplay much
personally, i dont like a "counter" meta anyways
especially since you cant swap items in world tour (or may not have it in your reserve to begin with)

but imo thats because they were all tied to skins

they suck, deserving of a buff
but you cant just straight up buff the flash duration because that quickly turns it into cheese
i would make it more extreme
just being next to it (like dropping it at your feet and walking past it) shouldn't blind you at all
but if you look at it, it blinds you from further away (but with the same duration)
still useful to check if someone is in a room, but you can kinda use it better to engage people too
Doing the flash contract I've seen that just throwing the flashbang at the sky in the general direction of people gives you a hit which is weird since nobody looks up at the sky

my plan was to blind them and then shoot them
but instead (even though i wasn't looking at it) i was full blinded because i was close, meanwhile i'm pretty sure the enemy got nothing

my plan was to throw a flash and run through during it
i threw the flash and blinded myself, meanwhile the enemy, barely 20 meters away, didnt get blinded and lasered me anyways

You can protect gas and goo from being set on fire and I believe it counters the flame thrower as well.

@chrome bobcat What?Gas is good for blocking off choke points or areas extremely good against light players. I remember gas being extremely annoying in the open beta. Goo is great for blocking doorways and plugging holes in the cash out area. It directly counters sentryâs and beaks there line of sight. They are great tools!
I find goo gets me killed by locking me out of rotation points, and the smoke I find just gives any light or melee nearby a massive advantage. But maybe thatâs just my experience with bad teammates using it. I never have tried because of how many times randoms have gotten me killed with them. Same with flashbangs

Iâve been using goo grenades this whole season and i love them, one of the things i love about the finals the the ability to counter other throwable, goo catches fire and breaks , gas catches fire and disparates and smoke extinguishes fire, and smoke gets countered by lobbing grenades into smoke.
I suppose that is a fair point but I still think goo players and âsquirrelyâ players clash a lot. I like to run around in circles doing chip damage as M and the âlock everything downâ strategy kinda kills that. So fr it might just be my strats that clash with goo, and smoke I didnât really think about the fire potential but I think it needs a buff still. People should not be visible through it, and it should do something to hide the team that threw it

@swift cradle Im a Dual blades main so my whole strategy is being squirrely. I Use goo as a gap closer and locking off entrances basically funneling my enemies into going one way, the only time i have to âlock downâ is when Iâm stealing the cash out. To me i think that is what goo is intended for. I think of âLocking down everythingâ as placing mines and sentryâs all over the place.haha

1: Double damage on deflect
2: Make it so blades negate all damage on deflect
3: Make the blades consistent to where you're aiming

My Take one Game-Balance Changes for gadges:
Light
- Stungun: Stun duration reduced to 2.5seconds, Cooldown increased to 18seconds
Medium: - Make Defibrillator a specialisation (Posibly increased rivive HP to 75%)
Heavy - RPG: Reduce DMG to 80, keep Radius, Lower Cooldown to 22 seconds.
- C4: DMG increase to 100, increase DMG Radius by 1 Meter, increase Destruktion Radius by 2 Meters, Set Charges es to 1, Set priming time to 1second, Set Cooldown to 24 seconds.
Environment
- Goo(from goo-gun, Goo-granade or Goo-canister): Compleatly Stop movment while stuck in goo, Block movment abilitys while stuck in goo to prevent wasting them
These are Just the Changes that came to mind First, there could be more.

Goo gun was better in like season 1 or beta for movement I've heard
for sure! but it makes it easier for me to mantle onto the platform in power shift so I still love it
Flamethrower is aids and makes me want to die
The range is high, and even if you get away the fire will still do a good bit of your health, plus most times the heavy will either use his very skillful ability and charge at you doing 45 damage per hit before burning you alive again or they will just use the rpg and most likely kill you, if you donât die to the flamethrower. I understand winch claw was annoying with flamethrower but its way less annoying then charge and slam

Unfortunately I don't think dual blades are balanced because mediums don't have the same mobility a light has and the deflect isn't good enough to warrant walking towards a shooting enemy

Agree to disagree I agree that medium donât have mobility as lights do but they arenât without options to close the gap. goo grenades, de-mat, pyro grenades, and flanks. Deflect gives you 80% DR and 100% damage dealt back at the target when deflection bullets
Depends on range there's fall off and the bullets don't deflect exactly back there's some spread but who knows maybe mediums get a more movement ability

There is fall off but that what the utilities is for. Also when youâre deflecting bullets you receive recoil and throws your reticule off from center. I do also think the we need some kind of health boost ability to complement this weapon.

Dual blades and riot shield arenât necessarily meant for killing though. Theyâre some of the only primaries meant for defense and keeping you alive longer

Lewis is more of a psuedo FCAR at the moment, it goes hog wile after a few rounds so I try to burst with it

More statistics in the career tab. Like how many hours you played in S1 or 2. Your best or worst weapon. If possible a highlight reel where you can submit your favourite clip of yourself. Put your player card in the statistics page or your favourite character that youâve made with your favourite pose. And with this information have it so players can view your profile AFTER the game because if they have that option during the game or before people can get toxic and force you to play or use things you donât want to (Like how Overwatch 1 was). Anyway those were some suggestions for a player profile type thing!
More player card customization and outfit slots so we can have multiple fits per loadout

I actually wanted a game show themed highlight system where you would be able to get rolling clips of your own highlights on the screen and maybe even other people would be able to see your highlights in your "profile".
In the game show setting this would be so cool and so badass if they were to implement something like this properly

Double blade replacement should be a heavy sword for medium which has a wide swing but a fast downwards slash when jumping plus more damage if u fall from high plus secondary deflect bullets
Add arrow velocity increase and optics for sights as bow and arrow is bad close range cause of delay fire and slow at long range
Fast double barrel shotgun reload when one bullet left out of two.
Have rpg to be aimed before firing

The medium melees are better than they look, you just have to work much, much harder to make them good. Also they get hard-countered by almost everything. Sword and hammer though are insane

Being forced into an uphill battle against every team you fight is not fun
Its pretty aim sensitive and unreliable thanks to the nerfs to both cl40 and explosives. Best thing to carry alongside it would probably be the jumppad. Other gadgets: they either don't do damage instantly to get you out of shit or do very little, so you're probably better off gaining some air which you can use to evade or reload in a pinch. Goo nades, fire nades or defib if you think you'll fight alongside teammates enough to make it count
Personally I've never had that strong of a feeling about something in this game, "uphill battle" is interesting wording for me. I do have the feeling that 3/4 of the stuff in this game has absolutely no skill curve and it's just there to appease. For instance, dash + sword with the melee aim assist that's currently in the game. You rarely see any complaints about that kind of "easy to use, incredibly effective" stuff.
Funnily enough, the training wheels melee aim assist provides even hurt a slightly more advanced usage, since you can connect one right click stab into multiple enemies, and do so more easily without it
So the issue here is maybe how easily you can achieve good results. Most of the meta in this game is braindead anyways

I feel like you do agree. See, the risk exists in the form of the stupidity of trying to res without any cover, something you wouldn't do when manual-ressing either
The punishment comes in the form of having to sprint over to your potato teammate, grabbing him (makes you unarmed) and carrying or throwing him to cover, which is another point of failure. Or, it comes in the form of ressing your teamie in the middle of the battlefield, maybe right next to a primed grenade, inside gas thrown by enemies or in the sights of any gun.
Talking about low-risk stuff in this game... Shield + flamethrower. Demat and model. Cloak and snipe. And only one of those three is significantly riskier

25 each fan and 150 for body if fans are destroyed the movement speed will go down and when put away drone will have to recharge also turret has 100 and if drone has six fans in a hexagon formation then once broken all fans it falls but if body gets destroyed the kaboom dealing 10 damage

the wall you placed. your attacks were hitting that before hitting him.
its not an AOE its more like a bunch of attacks in a AOE trench coat. and its origin is from the direction you were facing when your right click which was right into the wall.
you can hear all the hits being used up on the wall

he never got hit once during the animation. there was no chance to even no longer be hit.
like i said play it back with the volume up you can hear 5-6 attacks hit the wall as soon as the animation starts...
thats all the attacks it provides so him being in the animation meant nothing
your video proves my theory. i wasn't ever to sure but i kinda noticed it awhile back when you have things like walls around you and you use it while facing the wall all the attacks go into the wall even if people are right beside you

Making people drop cashboxes and other items is also pretty good, same with stopping interactions

Don't forget that you can stun Heavies so they cannot use their speed and inhuman mobility to fly away like in creative mode
if stun only dropped what players were holding, prevented sprinting, and stopped steals, it would still be an amazing gadget

I honestly hope they stop adding weapons for a while. Light has so many weapons that don't have anything that makes them worth using over xp-54/m11. I'd much rather have reworks to the light weapons that are underperforming to be on par with the power of the m11. It would practically be adding new weapons into the game because how often do you actually see V9S or 93R in game.
Same for medium. AKM and FCAR are practically the same gun. Reworking the fcar would be great. The revolver also has low usage due to bugged ironsights and being overshadowed by the model 1887. Fixing the ironsights and nerfing the range on the model would bring the revolver to a point where you would actually start to see it in game and could use it without feeling like you're throwing the game.
For heavy it's a little different. The lewis has literally always been an objectively better m60 in terms of performance, even during s3 where its harder to use. It kills faster and has more range. The ammo disparity between the weapons never made a huge difference because the 47 bullets that the lewis gun has is already a lot. I'd like to see these weapons finally balanced. Give the m60 better hipfire, an even faster rate of fire, and nerf the range stats to 10m min and 25m max. Then change the lewis gun to just have the exact stats that the m60 did at the end of S2 (minus the fire rate) with the recoil that the m60 has now. Both weapons should have easy recoil. This would create an actual meaningful difference between the two weapons. M60 is for huge spray and pray DPS up close while the lewis gun kills slower but has more range without breaking the range that heavy should be dealing good damage from. Spear is already confirmed to get a rework so maybe we will finally see it used in game. But neither of the lmgs would be used if the SA1216 wasn't touched. I think the SA1216 is perfect for heavy in theory but has remained overtuned since launch and has never moved from being his strongest weapon. Although the lewis gun did compete with it at the end of S2. All it needs is a spread nerf. Effectively nerfing it's range and making it less oppressive vs lights specifically without being completely useless against them. Light desperately needs help vs this weapon because it straight up just loses to any competent player using it up close, and 90% of light's arsenal is close ranged. Finally, MGL should detonate upon impact with players.
Combining all of these changes would likely shake up the primary weapon balance enough between every class to justify 0 new weapons being added. You would still be seeing new content via a much more diverse arsenal of viable weapons

I personally think the revolver is perfectly fine as it is, the ironsights just need to be fixed. I'm not a huge fan of when primary weapons are meant to cover their own weaknesses. Like how the FAMAS has great hipfire despite the fact it's meant to be a long range weapon and should be weak up close.

yes, hard recoil patterns aren't really necessary in this game because there's so many ways to outplay an opponent and so many things going on. Hard recoil makes sense for games like csgo where movement and utility is limited and most gunfights come down to who can aim best. Recoil is a great tool for adding an extra layer of skill in games like that

I honestly don't know. Embark switches between putting out great balance changes that show they are aware of things that are problematic and more important why things are problematic. But then they also put out insane balance changes that either target the wrong thing, dont address the core issue in a given balance problem, or just make 0 sense. The defib rework was amazing and provides actual counterplay to the gadget. It's clear that they understood the issue with old defibs was that they were instant and could not be reacted to. But the lewis gun changes in season 3 show that they have no idea why the weapon was problematic.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I sorta do not mind the sledge heavies. They are annoying, but they add some horror aspects to the Finals. Like imagine going around a corner and bam, your head had sunken into your body from a well placed bonk to the noggin. After a respawn, you are trying to reach your team and a heavy with a sledge just begins chasing you as you run for your life through a series of buildings. The destruction adds to the panic.

TTK stats are utterly bullshit imo and are only an insanely loose estimate in the viability of a gun. Using a training room dummy that is completely static and then basing TTK's off of every shot being hit at a constant range is a situation that would never actually happen in matches.
Like he said, missing even 2 of those 9 XP-45 shots allows any sniper that can hit two shots in a row to dome you, disregarding the possibility of them just one tapping with a headshot.

a lot of issues i have with this game are more systemic like lack of content or gameshow identity and better ranked and stuff like that, i cant really speak to specific balancing changes cuz imo this game is waaaay too sandbox and even the classes are very loose, there's lots of punishes and counters for every class

i like double blades i just feel like they lack more of a lunge
if light sword can basically glide around db should be able to cover more distance with their swing

light naturally has more movement options, heavy has survivability, if youre gonna give med a melee it either needs more blocking potential like riot or more movement

I think all weapons should be balanced for range with a point stat-Luke system. What I mean is by that all weapons should have 3 points that are invested into ranges. For example the m11 has 2 points at close range and 1 point in mid range, while the shotgun has all 3 points in close and the xp has 1 point in each. This would help balance the 93r and v9s I think v9s should be mainly mid range and some long range with a bad hipfire up close, while the 93r should be super good hipfire and ads up close but bad at long range.
I think all riot shield should also give. A speed buff cause sometimes itâs hard to close the distance, but the dual blades should have more accuracy so they donât have to be up close.

Either
- Riot is slow and needs to annoyingly chase after someone
Or - Riot is fast, and anyone they go after has to annoyingly run for their life

Im attempting to perform what each person has assured me is the skillful way to deal with a given item
They just have to do something about it cuz it makes certain matches unplayable. 2x sniper on TA for example = complete unbalanced as they just insta 2-shoot ur team mates as soon as you leave base.
And even in WT i sometimes get 1-shot in my face in their panic mode while i'm the one engaging from behind. It's insane

I don't want them to keep deleting items from the game rather than adding them.
We're going to get more "annoying" stuff in the future but when you use them and aren't dieing from them they are actually fun to use and add to the customizability of the game.
I hope they never take things out the game because players have a hard time winning against them.

Sniper is fine for me and winch is fine for me too (specifically cuz I use dash alot tbh)

Personally i was thinking about making it a high caliber medium range rifle
Being capable of making holes in walls (for angles to shoot from for example)
Similar risk/reward to lh1, but in return for the higher risk (due to lower rof), it gains the destruction utility
Problem is the objectives. You have to sit still and take a certain point (cashout what this game's all about) In these moments you are completely vulnerable to get 1-hit by a sniper which is objectively unbalanced. IMO it doesnt make sence to have something that can 1-hit you (like the light shotgun) in a close-quarter game like this

â¨New Game Mode Concept: "Blitz"â¨
Here is an idea for a new game mode in The Finals, inspired by Hardpoint (objective zones that pop up randomly around the map during the match)
CORE PRINCIPLES:
Appeal to new players:
Faster respawns and a focus on maintaining control of a designated area make it easier for new players to jump into The Finals and contribute.
Fast-paced and engaging:
Short to medium length matches and constant objective switching keep the action flowing, as well as short respawn times.
Teamwork encouraged:
Earning money is based on team presence within the zone, rewarding coordinated pushes and revives.
- I believe the long respawns in every game mode has turned away a lot of people. "Fast paced & Chaotic" don't seem palatable when mixed with high respawn times. I understand we want to incentivise team work, revives, and strategy but I think a game mode with fast respawns is well overdue in a game like The Finals.
GAMEPLAY:
Team Setup:
3 teams of 4 players.
If supported - 3 teams of 5
- Here I want to increase team size because I feel like people want bigger team sizes in The Finals to play with more friends. Also we might want a lot of concentrated destruction.
I feel like 3 teams of 4 would not be too much and would be fun for a casual game mode.
(Also would effect the size of zone and balance which is fine since all of this is just a concept)
Blitz Zone:
A designated area on the map becomes the objective (Blitz Zone or whatever it ends up being named). It can be circular, shaped like a building, or highlighted by a beam.
Earning Money:
Teams earn money based on the number of players within the Blitz Zone. More teammates present translates to exponentially higher earnings per tick.
Example:
-One person in the area will earn the base amount of points - $10 per tick
-Two people earn the base amount of $10 per tick PLUS $5 each (since there are 2 team mates inside.)
-Three people all earn the base amount of $10 per tick PLUS a bonus of $10 each (since there are 3 team mates inside
-Full team will receive a base amount of $10 per tick PLUS a bonus of $15 or $20 EACH (since there is a full team alive in the zone)
Penalties & Rewards:
"Direct Deposit" - Kills have a small siphon effect where you take money from the enemy you killed and it's added to your teams total balance.
NOTE: Only kills between players inside the Blitz Zone have siphon effect. â¨Clutch players REJOICEâ¨
"Team wipe" aka "Bankruptcy" - Same as cashout, you loose a percentage of your teams balance if your whole team is dead at the same time.
OR bankruptcy can have a short lock-out effect where a team might not be able to earn for a short period of time after respawning.
("Bankruptcy" might be too much for a casual mode since it makes another variable to calculate mid gunfight. Might but be good for the gamer that wants to just shut their brain off. If they play this and don't care about score tm8s will complain and ruin the mood... Maybe this is an idea for a less casual modeđ¤ˇđžââď¸)
Match Duration:
The game lasts between 5-10 minutes with the Blitz Zones active for 2-4 minutes each before switching to a new location.
Suggestion:
For all casual modes, turn on auto Re-que. It's a wise decision.
This is a starting point, and all aspects of Blitz are open for discussion and refinement.

my only specific issue is with certain precision weapons. revolver should not have bloom in mid air, throwing knives should not have bloom in mid air, etc. just doesn't make sense and keeps me from expressing my movement in the way the game obviously intends. idk why throwing knives were mega buffed in the first place, the biggest problem was always that they have bloom while you're in mid air, when in reality their high movement while using them is supposed to be the tradeoff of them not being the best in other aspects.
Light class i feel like the mid just needs more weapons plus the mid already has a jumppad in which case you can already do so
This would be a great movement option honestly, imagine throwing it on a wall or slanted area and effectively adding a dash or two.
This would be great for movement enjoyers
Being in a given area just makes people a sitting duck
And it limits defensive options
Id rather have something like suburbination
(3 capture points giving money individually if capped at all)
Or gnome bomb
(Put in cashbox, defend, a steal just interrupts, first to 3 wins)
Those are the names from gw, idk what they are called in other games
They could even make multiple variants of it, bomb variant for the light

And detonator for the heavy class

This actually sounds real good. My friends were thinking of a competition of multiple gamemodes combined after each other f.e. you win a match of platform and move to TA, then cashout, etc.. but this is actually much better đ props my man
