sounds fun but i think it should not only be this, since a lot of good finals maps have multiple buildings with (functional or literal) gaps between them. so i could see a map that could be part this and part land

but its gonna be a hard concept to make work, not to mention make it fit with a themed season. the image you sent would probably be too flat at that point, so maybe a cargo ship could make it easier. but i still think it would need more than just that.

finals isnt COD or R6S after all, the gameplay doesnt revolve fully around small area destruction or direct combat, there has to be an element of mass destruction and room for utility usage. having a very linear and slim map like a ship might not work with that.

how about a oil rig map? one with multiple levels and oversee towers, that could work.

I'm loving the new season! I just think its a real shame that we just got a reworked/recolored map of Vegas, and OG Vegas was removed 😦

They really should expand on that "Ready Player One-like" universe, and go for more creative stuff:

• Medieval map: I'm thinking kind of like Mordor, with volcanos and a red sky to give it a darker vibe than the rest of the map, but why not a typical castle where breaching holes would feel as if you are a knight sieging your ennemies
• StarWars-like map: we are in a VR world after all, why not have a map on the moon? Or an inspired map of Tattoin with that iconic La Cantina map with NPCs (if not, just dancing mannequins) to make the map a bit more interactive than the others?
• New York: the one map that appeared in Ready Player One for the race scene where a big Gorilla showed up. Why not just copy a map from the movie that ur game is based/inpired on?
• The Meat Space: Embark, show us how the Meat Space looks like godamnit! So far we don't know anything about it, and I'm sure not many players even know (or care) about it! It's time to introduce the lore ^^ expand on it, and show us it's not only rainbows and sunshine!

I think implementing stuff like this would attract many players, as these map would feel a bit more casual than the current "competitive tryhard game show" maps, that we currently have. They are doubling down too much on that competitive aspect, which makes the game even more sweaty than it needs to be.
Also, it would be nice to implement new limited time modes: where u have to throw a cashbox into the ennemy's goal (Kinda like the cashbox goals in the practice range).
A gamemode like that where you can't die, and don't need to wait 30s to respawn would surely attract alot of casual players.

Sure the new Vegas is nice, it plays smoother, it looks cleaner. But it just feels so much more lifeless than old Vegas. To a certain extent, the slightly overwhelming nature of old Vegas made the map more interesting and unique to me. Now it feels a lot more like any other map.

Idea to fix vegas: Keep S6 Vegas exclusive to world tour, because that’s where the sponsors are after all. All other game modes would have normal vegas; possibly even ranked. Then you could add a sandstorm variant of S6 vegas, so world tour players still get that. You could even rework vegas even season based on the different sponsors, acting as the official world tour map.

Please reduce the amount of outdoor cashbox spawns on Monaco, it makes it very frustrating to play on as someone who enjoys melee weapons and shotguns. You basically are forced to swap if the boxes decide to all spawn in the outdoor points. The trees in the parks are very annoying to play around too as the foliage is too much visual noise/clutter.

They also make the destruction mechanics not matter in any meaningful way, there are no buildings to hide in/destroy when most of the cashboxes and vaults spawn outside in the park areas (except when it spawns in the tiny building in the middle of the park)

Also please remove the tunnel spawn completely, it’s not a fun site to play around (for attackers or defenders)

Please reduce the amount of outdoor cashbox spawns on Monaco, it makes it very frustrating to play on as someone who enjoys melee weapons and shotguns. You basically are forced to swap if the boxes decide to all spawn in the outdoor points. The trees in the parks are very annoying to play around too as the foliage is too much visual noise/clutter.

They also make the destruction mechanics not matter in any meaningful way, there are no buildings to hide in/destroy when most of the cashboxes and vaults spawn outside in the park areas (except when it spawns in the tiny building in the middle of the park)

Also please remove the tunnel spawn completely, it’s not a fun site to play around (for attackers or defenders)

Not a specific map but here’s an idea for part of one
I think it would be cool to have a battle in a subway station. There’s train tracks that go across the whole map and part of the train tracks go into a tunnel. You can shoot rockets and barrels at the roof to have a bunch of debris fall down and almost plug the hole which delays any pursuers.

Kyoto has a lot of problems that other levels dont have. A rework would be nice:

• Seems like many cash outs are too close to the ground level and mostly end on the japanese house's basement. It always feels crowded in there.
• Places that have bamboos are easy to abuse. I use it all the time, but I think that some areas have too much (EXPECIALLY that area over the mountain)
• That big house bellow the hill doesnt work very well on TDM. The entire level ALWAYS get destroyed
• Like pre-rework Vegas, sometimes its hard to know where you are at the map since all houses are very similar

I just have a lot of little problems with the map. For one, it takes a bite out of my PC’s performance. The water and forest are painful to play, to the point where I will actively avoid the forest cashouts if I can. There is so much visual clutter that long-range shooting is very annoying, and the indoor spaces are just a tiny bit too small, so the flow of fighting indoors just isn’t the same as in other maps. Altogether it just doesn’t feel like a Finals map to me.

These handful maps where it is easy to fall off the map, is just straight up Not Fun (TM) as a new player. The geometry is not easy to "read" - where these drops are, just random drop between 2 buildings and you cannot see this until you are right on the ledge.

Some maps also have cashouts with a lot of verticality, and if you are not 110% aware of this when picking your class+loadout, you are essentially hard countered by the map. Also not fun.

I've really liked Kyoto for a while and only recently realized people hated it so much.

for me its because the whole map promotes ratting instead of team fights. weird crawl spaces under houses, bushes and bamboo everywhere, and water to make anyone out in the open a sitting duck. also, it just has bad performance compared to other maps if you don't have a great PC. i love the way it looks, but gunfights feel terrible on Kyoto.

Fighting on or in a Pyramid could go crazy, but they try to keep things based on the real world and to scale, so the map would just be a Pyramid and nothing else. They could technically do one based in ancient Egypt though.

Ah this would be crazy considering we're in the virtual space and there's alot of gravity play and momentum based movement. I think it would be fitting for a crazy seasonal event or tournament format game mode.

I seem to remember a space station map back in the days of overwatch 1. It had interiors with normal gravity and exteriors with low gravity. Easier to flank around the exteriors but it left you as an easy target for precision shooters. Lovely map.

Would love to see that concept applied. Embark could do something like two or three stations on the moon that you can bounce between, maybe one of them has a breach? Could be fuuuun 👀

They should do a futuristic Cairo and then have one small pyramid that could be a large section of the map, just outside the city
