as for the big tower , yea it could pose a problem but it might add to the dynamic considering the rubble from the big tower would create a pretty big mess on the street level (in a good manner) (also since its attached to the top of map cuz the whole big tower isnt accesible only its ground level and the first 5 storeys or so, its top might stay attached to some extent?) (also after its destroyed maybe the more wider playing fieled might bring new dynamics into play?) . and if it isnt destroyed , i think it might still be pushed on cuz it has entry point from left right and bottom from all levels. |

i am not a pro player so i cant comment too much on the push factor . id love this map for powershift , itd be super fun.?

With summer coming soon, I thought a map idea that would revolve around it. The idea of the map is beaches and islands. You have a main center island where majority of the fighting will occur and from there, there will be smaller islands where vaults can spawn or even cash out boxes. These islands can be accessed either by zip lines or jump pads. For buildings, it can be summer beach houses or even a summer resort for the center island. What do you guys think about that idea?

Rollercoasters, waterparks, playgrounds, a wax museum, statues of cartoon characters, medieval castles, Aztec temples, glass mazes, Egyptian pyramids, a giant mall, flower gardens, restaurants, horror house.. You can basically mix a thousand different settings at once.
Please, Embark, don't do another generic city, a themepark would be one of the best and most unique maps ever created.

this is a bit out of left field, but what if we had a randomly generated map?
like, there are premade chunks (houses, gardens, shops, skyscrapers, construction sites, etc.) and they get randomly arranged in a grid to form the map

obviously a big part of the game is learning each map and knowing what paths you can take for example
but the game also builds on taking what you can get and making the best use of it (with stuff like the canisters, map variants and events)
so i think it would fit the game

since the map is never build the same way, it would always feel fresh and lead to unique and interesting scenarios
like, maybe a small Monaco house is surrounded by sky scrapers
2 houses facing each other in an otherwise open field
a cashout being positioned right between 2 skyscrapers

since its so different it should maybe be in its own game mode, where you can also always swap your equipment like in power shift

I would honestly like to see a map with some castle as a center point, basically have some open spaces around it with low-density short obstacles where players spawn, still rather close to the walls, but have the majority of the action take place in the rather cramped and full-of-pillars inner chambers.

European castles usually have large enough rooms that they would make for great cashout spots and with usually high ceilings they would allow for blocking ground view with goo and such while still keeping enough space to be able to move through the room, which would be quite unique compared to the lower ceiling rooms in maps like monaco or both hospitals in seul and stadium.

Also shooting each other on balconies like in the church in monaco, but with a bit more space and distance between players seems really fun, and central courtyard or even multiple of them would make for interesting cashout spots that you have to expose yourself to activate/steal, but can defend from a distance in a better position.

Seoul was my favorite map early on in the game, easy to learn with clear areas for engagements and a lot of gaps to fall off the map.

Problem is it got stale pretty fast, the map feels really cramped when two vaults don't spawn on literally opposite corners and the fact that you HAVE to rotate around the building in the middle makes your paths predictable and attacking cashouts harder than on other maps. The under construction modifier basically removes all those problems from the map and is easily my favorite version of it.

Even with it there is still the gaping problem of the hospital, oh the hospital: an easily defendable building with a stretch of empty land to get to it, basically creating a spot where if you get there first no one will engage you because it is just not worth it. Sure you can get there by the bridge or via the crane but both of these can be easily destroyed.

It is not a bad map, but it is definietly the worst of the available ones and there is room for improvement imho.

Getting Seoul in any game mode is enough to make me stop playing the finals.
It doesn’t promote the gameplay well at all. Everything is isolated, with large open ground between each site.
If you’re playing heavy - you’re absolutely fucked with no way to climb anything and spend about a year running around to reach a location because everything gets destroyed - which is fine in any other map because there’s a lot of native, non-destructible ways to get around the maps (stadium for example).
The pathing for the platform in power shift means heavy can’t do anything. No heavy means little protection for the mediums.

It is not enjoyable at all.
I don’t care if some people in here say they like it. In my opinion it’s a bad map and needs fixing.

I like playing Seoul as heavy, but I do play it differently to the other maps. It's possible I like it just because it's rare.

I normally go up high (with the jump pads, which aren't destroyed, or barricade mantling if I need a small boost), and shoot long range with the M60 / grenade launcher. When we have the platform I throw dome shield on it, and when the other team has it, grenades / barrels. In mall especially you can arc shots / barrels and get easy kills.

Late game after everything is destroyed I hop on the platform and mesh.

I like how the middle ends up destroyed by mid-game: on Monaco, frequently the church survives to the end.

I've found it interesting how few spawn campers I've run into in power shift, I thought it would be more prevalent, but then again I played it primarily in the first few weeks and maybe people are just slow on the uptake. It's a very susceptible game mode to spawn camping.

what I like to do is, rather than spawn camp, go to the enemy spawn and destroy all the ziplines then run away xD make it take a few second longer for them to get back to the fight every time they respawn

I also feel like it would benefit from there being something like a second floor under it. I actually think horizon is probably the best map in terms of design for gameplay. The only issue imo is that there’s no modifiers so it’s very repetitive

I feel like the far reaches of the map are somewhat underutilized, especially compared to a map like Monaco. Makes it feel like it is smaller than it actually is because there is just nothing that happens on the edges.

Other than that there are some stairways that are somewhat unintuitive to learn so beginner players may have a harder time there than on other maps, but it is nothing jarring enough to stop the flow of the map.

Indeed a very well designed map that I enjoy playing at, probably a top 2, coz I still like Monaco better.

To me it feels more like they have a hidden map rotation that changes what map you play based on the hour. So like you find Seul games from 19:30 - 20:00 and after that you go to Vegas from 20:00 - 20:30 and so on, but the actual times are something more random and they might have some random variation both ways.

sandstorm las vegas is prob the best. u should bring maps from a polar climate, or ones that have snowy mountains or snow or smthgm. like geneva, or london. then make smthgn called snow storms. and then, bring glitched version of syshorizon, like sandstorm with vegas. thered be random gateways, walls would randomly be dematerialized, doors would open and close, windows wouldnt be in their places and instead would be in the middle of nowhere, and canisters and throwable items would randomly change
