A suggestion - Place a "Players Searching/Players in queue" line underneath the Searching box while in queue. This will help players know when players are searching and not to give up when they might be 1 player off a match.

I think the main issue is that the automatic server feature either doesntw ork or is not working in a very effective way, why can i be in automatic server queue for 20 minutes? maybe after 5 mins change servers? I want to queue oce but yesterday queing for oce or automatic it was just an endless queue, if i queue asia its like 30 seconds. So at what point does it switch.

Thanks for the update Oscar.
I did notice one thing dusty said that was a bit strange about how auto region select works.
Auto region should select the closest region to you(as is the case in almost every other game with a similar setting), not a region where the quickest game can be found.
That is effectively an ANY region setting, not really auto.
People will much prefer to queue for two minutes and wait for a local match than get thrown into a match half way across the world in one minute.
The game is designed to be competitive (the finals, not the participations 😏) and most people want to be on a nice, smooth and responsive local game server than a 300+ ping lag fest which unfortunately the console players experience with the current auto setting.

We get 5-10 second queues pretty much all day around in the normal game modes. Do the math, plenty of people have it unlocked. The game has been out a week and I unlocked ranked on second day.

They looked up the numbers and assure us the number of ppl who have unlocked ranked on PC are extremely low. And those of us that have are playing other regions for ranked. That's all well and good. But perhaps they should make an announcment in the designated channel stating there is no bug preventing us from getting a game, as 99% of us believe. It may get OCE players to actually queue competitive on OCE rather than Asia.
I believe the only reason why they haven't is because they don't believe it is a population issue themselves.
If we can get 4 second queues in any other game mode, how are there population issues?
Maybe it's a SBMM issue causing lack of games, which they will need to tune to our specific servers, which i trust may take some time and I'm okay with that. Just tell us the facts.

We can get confirmation from the Devs, but the servers should all be Agones Game Servers running in GKE, when matchmaking service has the 48 players ready it should just be passing the info to us and connecting us in, its not an allocated (x, y, z are quick cash only.)

Therefore if there were no ranked servers we should get a connection error.

^ Mostly speculation over the time with the Beta and Publications/talks from the Dev Team, more than happy to post links.

Again not saying it could not be bugged, everything can have bugs, just highlighting it looks like we are really low pop without console.

I've asked every person who knows data, that can check the current players eligible to play ranked, current online players, platform splits, etc. etc.

Nothing indicates any issue.

There's multiple factors here;
Oceania does not have a very large playerbase.
Very, and I mean very, few players on OCE has played the 60 rounds needed for Ranked.
The few players who have unlocked ranked, are split over playing Asia/Europe/NA and trying to play on OCE.

The result is just that it will be very tough to find games until more players have played the 60 games needed.
Nothing indicates that there is an issue here. Ranked games do happen on OCE, although not many, but the number is increasing every day.

I can only ask that you are patient until more people unlock ranked, and hold out until you can select OCE on consoles as it might help people queue in the same place i didnt say this check pinned bruv

@sonic kiln Does SBMM take a role in finding games for ranked? In the data you have seen whats the average ranks do you see players getting matched on OCE servers? Is it all Diamond players getting matched? Bronze? Silver? Since this is a new game I feel like majority of players will be ranked as bronze however still after waiting several hours in queue i have not been able to join any game at all. Even with cross-play turned on and even with Auto Region turned on we are still stuck endlessly waiting in queue. If you are able to can you @ all of the Oceania Role people to jump into queue and see if matchmaking actually works. If it does then its confirmed its a population based issue if it doesn't then a deeper investigation needs to be put in place and see why us OCE players can not find a game for ranked.

In short, from what I can see in data, we have players in Oceania playing ranked. I am currently digging deeper to find out if that is on OCE servers, or on other servers.

I am also looking into the actual queue numbers for Ranked Tournament on OCE, and from what I can see, you have probably not been enough people to actually kick off any tournaments. I am currently getting this confirmed with our data team, as I am a communications guy and not a data guy.

I've read the comments about how you have organized large groups of players to queue at once, but again, I find no evidence data wise that these efforts have generated large enough groups of players to start Ranked Tournaments.

Finally, I might be wrong about there having been ranked games on OCE so far, because it might be that I'm seeing Oceanians getting ranked games on other servers - I'm continuing the investigation (and if I am wrong I will be the first to admit).

I think the main issue is, i queue automatic and still no server is found after an hour? why am i not auto moved to a different region after a certain amount of time. It makes it so the only way to check if oce servers are working is by manually going from oce and then back to asia, every match or however so often

asia servers ping is the same as playing tokyo on apex the is no lag or input delay unless you have bad internet cause it should only be at most 200 ping
