we have scotty, we have lauren i believe, but then there's a third who has no name and sounds a bit more derailed at times in the way he speaks.

like who is he? does he have a name, and why is he there, since the game introduces us to scotty and lauren as the two main announcers we hear, but the third one remains a mystery.

it's interesting since neither scotty or lauren name him, or refer to him if you read the subtitles.

like, how he sometimes sounds, or words things, is like a joker figure, but he genuinely seems to like "Enjoy" the chaos, and sounds more menancing at times.

i'm also aware that another guy is named, presuming the owner/creator of the idea, so there is lore there.

lauren/june sometimes says "That person (forgot the name) would not be happy with this" something among those lines.

It was summarised by embark in a few slides on their branding document iirc. The summary is that you're in the future (I don't remember the exact year but like 2077+ I think) and there's this huge game show which is popular called THE FINALS and so you're playing it in VR and it's all about style and winning and making the sponsors happy because money and stuff. It's also the reason why it's a stadium with virtual audience and why the enemy's burst into coins when they die because they don't actually die irl.
That's pretty much it though for official lore I might have missed some stuff you should look at the document for more info
