ARC raiders is progressively turning worse, I can barely get out of a game without getting into a fight. I’ve been offline for nearly a month now when i was on daily grinds.

Arc Raiders sucks. Embark clearly got a ton more money than they originally thought, and are treating the PvE players who refuse to shoot someone as pay pigs. They're going to cave into the PvE side and the game will be ruined, same as any other game where PvE-only players refuse to participate in PvP and force the game to change its vision.

Before, all players were in the same lobbies. PvE players would team up for protection, but they still were in PvP lobbies and would fight to defend themselves or shut down PvP players looking to stomp everyone. That mixture felt organic and how the game was originally billed. With the aggression match making, PvE lobbies have people using no shield or weapons just running by arc to loot boxes, and not ever worry about someone shooting them. PvP lobbies are free kits corner camping everything or streamers spamming trigger nades and doing the Toro 4 seizure on the floor roll meta. PvE players will choose to not even try to defend themselves, because they're so worried about being sent to a PvP lobby they'd rather die and lose loot than have a backbone.

Giving in to the PvE-only side is breaking the balance and spirit of the game. Arc on launch felt magical. Now both sides are min maxxed and boring

Playing Arc and Marathon made me realise extraction shooters aren't my thing

I don't like the concept of game modes like battle royales and survival where you're just being put into a large map and have to gather items but you die and back to the menu, repetitive

I'm down to try Marathon, but ultimately extraction shooters rely on loot mechanics for cheap dopamine. In the Finals, you get pure PvP. In Arc and Marathon, you have to spend hours farming loot like its MMO fetch quests just to afford to shoot a gun. Spend more hours to search for an RNG blueprint just to make a gun. People mistake the amount of effort to maintain a stash or unlock guns with meaningful effort. The same effort could go into refining their PvP mechanics or game sense, instead its stardew valley with guns. But its easier to get dopamine from finding a rare blue print than it is to win a game with skill - anyone can unlock enough boxes.

I like BRs but they either bloated themselves to death (Apex) or refused to improve core mechanics (PUBG is way too janky)

TL;DR - reject modernity (FPS that add useless shit to lock in casuals), retvrn to tradition (arena shooters)

I just hate dealing with PvP players all the time, yes i defend myself against them but it gets annoying after some point, when i want to compete missions and tasks to unlock all my skills and have the capability to go into PvP lobbies, with the nice bobcats I’ve robbed off rats and other sticky fingered raiders. As for the rest of the PvE players they’re the ones that have “Gear Fear”, i’ve went in with everything and came out with nothing due to players selling me and not standing their ground. I can barely craft a simple kettle or stitcher kit now.

Rant #2: The new characters
Blizzard, for the first time ever, released 5 charecters at the same time even though only 1 of them was publically tested. It's... it's not pretty
The supports:
FUCK Jetpack Cat, she's funny at first but her grab just isn't viable, and she can't heal with her gun when she grabs, so the average cat doesn't use it often, essentially making her a flying Lucio/Ana
Mizuki is pretty fun, but his healing feels unreliable and weak most of the time and he feels too close range for someone with no defensive capability. Horrible to listen to as well.
Both of them are fun to play but seem a little weak, i'm hoping Blizzard buffs them in some capacity. Not that i'm going to play them of course, but I'd prefer to not carry the teams heals

The damage:
Enre is pretty much as basic as you can get. A burst assault rifle with an ADS and a bouncing grenade, yawwwn. He does have the lifestealing explosive pistol though which is cool. His ult is pretty basic as well, he just flies and shoots big lasers. I find that he's insanely easy to gun down when he's in the air. His damage output is fairly strong however
Anran feels weak for a few reasons. Her burn is laughably bad (10dps), her projectile speed is too slow to reliably hit any of the more mobile heroes and when you play her close range like intended, you often lose to better close range heros (Vendetta, Reaper, Symetra). She's pretty durable, but she just doesn't have the damage to back it up

The tank:
Domina is actually a well thought out tank hero. Her gun is interesting (It's a beam WITH a projectile), her barrier being segmented is a neat gimmick, and her ability is simple enough to use. Her ult however, is pretty weak. It basically encases enemies in a barrier that deals damage if it's not destroyed in time, but more often than not my team is able to destroy it. However, since I heal my allies by shooting them with my gun, the barrier kinda screws that over, so it does it's job.

TL;DR Blizzard is stupid, most of the characters are weak and I hate having to compensate for the bad heals

Oh and then side note: I read the patch notes and there was not a single Juno buff, nerf or rework within 5v5, 6v6 or stadium, coincidentally as they released 2 skins for her.
Knowing Blizzard, this means they are trying to sell some skins before doing something stupid in a month

Or they're trying to increase her pick rate. I wouldnt know what her pick rate is in casual games because I instalock her

The big issue with Ana is that missing a shot or two can be the difference between winning or losing a fight. That's a solid 75 healing or damage

Like, the thing with Ana is that she feels more like someone you'd play with a tank duo, she just feels REALLY single target with her healing

Also most people dont know her gun is projectile but turns hitscan when you scope
