PSA: Honest players getting permanent bans in The Finals?

Hey everyone, my account Bot#0775 got hit with a permanent ban around few days ago, despite ~2,500 HOURS played, never cheating, using hacks, or being toxic. I always play fair and respect ToS.

I've already contacted Embark support multiple times, but they only give very generic responses with ZERO explanation or evidence about why I was banned.

This seems like a false positive, mass report, or auto-ban error. Has anyone else experienced this or gotten the same vague replies?

@Support @Moderators - where do we appeal properly? Can you check/review cases like this? Official ticket link/email?

Feels unfair when legit players with 2500+ hours get perma-banned while cheaters run free. We need transparency/clarification!

yeah replays are very resource heavy and cause issues for some folks. they added an option to make it so you have to press a button to watch the replay instead of it auto playing

It was only a couple of days ago that someone came here and they were seemingly completely unaware that Wooting's rapid trigger keyboard is considered cheating.

I wonder how many other players there are who are unaware of certain hardware being considered cheating. Software too.

There's cheating and then there's assistance. In the traditional sense, we think of cheating as something you knowingly download and use. But when it comes to peripheral software, I think it's reasonable to assume that not everyone is up to date or aware what is and isn't considered as cheating.

They have root-level anti-cheat software. I'm pretty sure it scans your computer's processes. Embark has a rigorous anti-cheat system. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it definitely gets rid of the majority of bad people.

Brother, you do not understand the amount of frustration and struggle that I've been putting up with over the performance in The Finals. I don't remember the exact date of the new destruction update, but since then, my performance has been trashed, completely. I don't want to be the guy repeating this every chance I get, but I was getting 60-85 fps in 2k upscaled + mix of low/medium/high settings. Had stable high 60s, and to go from that to stuttery stopmotion 0-35 fps.... I took a step back from the game. Only played the amount required to get time-limited skins.

Now, I'm getting high 80s, even crossing into 110s at the very highest. However, I haven't tried returning my old settings or at least playing with all low on 2k upscaled resolution

Embark games can be weird. I've never had a game go into my system and alter my microphone settings, yet both Arc and TF did just that. The same happened to my friends.

We'd be sitting in Discord, and all of a sudden, one of us because inaudible. We check Microsoft sounds, and sure enough, the microphone levels have been lowered.

The funniest thing happened while we were playing the free trial of Arc Raiders, and my friend was streaming. When he went to sounds, the levels slider was being dragged in real-time, and we were both laughing our assess off. On a more serious note, I've made Embark aware of this since Closed Beta.

After wasting time figuring out how to revert to my old drivers (literally had to dig through files to find a log in which the old driver version was written), my performance wasn't fixed. that just means your poor cpu is bottlenecking

if it cant feed the gpu, there is little it can do

and measuring gpu load as some sort of indicator is weird anyway

it happens randomly tbh..i check the usage of both and cpu usually is under 40% load and gpu float around 50 to 70% usage

measuring load on gpu like that is really not that easy

it is likely that some part of the gpu was running 100%, but on average it was 50

cpu is easier as it is just linear execution anway

it really just happens with the finals in previous seasons and recently in arc too, i played other UE5 titles and some other games too and this never happens

this is discord and chrome (and windows itself) eating 7gb of gpu memory, just because...

surprisingly i wasn't aware of that until one of my friends showed me how much discord eat from the cpu and ram and i was shocked lol, but i didn't bother since he had a way weaker cpu than mine

mine is 8 cores 16 threads so i thought discord won't be much of an issue but it actually might be

you can add some funky columns in task manager, gpu memory can be interesting

i have turned off hardware acceleration cause it makes a lot of graphical issues in discord idk if it still hogs this much with me tho😭

i added this but for some reason it never shows how much pioneer.exe takes from the gpu, but in overall gpu usage in shows the same number as in game slightly higher because of other tasks running for windows

yeah might be..i will do some tests and see how it goes cause I'm so sick of this issue i be playing fine having my 80fps cap smooth then all of sudden i get 40 to 70 fps dancing between the numbers with 60% gpu usage instead of regular 95%ish😭

if it's discord i might just uninstall it and use web version and open it when I'm not playing

yeah, discord is quite bad, but theres usually a problem of getting ppl to hop onto the alternative once one is even found
