The batteries are dead and im using a non-xbox type of cord to power on the controller and its plugged in from the back of the console (pretty sure the usb slots on the back of the console are weaker than the one on the front)

I prefer batteries very much. If I have one controller and it dies, well shit, I cant game for like an hour. But with a simple battery swap you can get back in like five seconds. Happened to me all the time back when I played vr. My friends would have to get off for the night to charge their controllers while I was able to keep going.

I've got the different beyers, 3 ohms versions, and the hd600+6xx, but also the motu m4, a couple amps, resistor test board thing.

the big difference between the 250 ohm beyers and a 6xx is the instrument separation. in something like metal music where a lot is happening, the sounds get smeared together more and fine detail is lost. with 80 ohm versions it's significantly worse, where I'd compare it to $70-80 headphones in that specific way.

my favorite of the beyers is the dt880 600 ohm, which is definitely bass light and treble heavy, not to mention super hard to get to high volumes. but it sounds so wide and airy. it's also more precise with telling locations of sounds in the finals or a bunch of other games than the hd6xx. It's at least close in terms of keeping clarity in busy music like the 6xx does.

as far as the interfaces go, the 8x impedance rule is just a safeguard in case a headphone has serious impedance swings depending on the frequency. even for the dt770 80 ohm, the only actual difference this would cause (according to impedance plots) is an extra 0.9db centered around 67hz. not something that I'd say affects the sound quality. but I dislike focusrite for other reasons, mainly their hardware quality and ASIO drivers. yes, my m4 gets 250 ohm beyers and the hd6xx around 90-100db in music, which I consider plenty of volume for me
